In that 1989 Demri pic with Layne and friends on the lake, are there other Alice in Chains members there? Are Jerry or Mike in the photo? I think Fabiola is there and Krisha (Jerry's girlfriend at the time) said she was there. I think I don't see Sean, but I wonder if the lad next to Layne, or the one in front of Dem (holding the bongo) is Jerry. Thank you.

So we are not very familiar with the Alice in Chains members (beside Layne) so we're going to reply as best as we can.

Krisha Augerot, who was dating Jerry on and off, she said: "I was dating Jerry off and on, and hanging out with Demri. We’d all go to the beach every day during that summer at Magnuson Park ... It was a very free, loving time. In the liner notes [of Above], he said something about, ‘I’ll always remember that summer’... That really fresh, youthful time that we all had before it was all about drugs. He mentioned a few names in there – I think he mentions my name, Demri, and another girl named Fabiola, ... I know that meant a lot to him – that whole time period."

And Fabiola said: "Remembering that summer of ‘89 when we were young and innocent, and free. Layne, Demri and I walking through the long grasses on the trails of Magnuson Park, heading to meet up with El Steiner, Freedom James, Krisha, Jerry, Betzold, Dmitri and others. Demri carrying her conga drum with a scarf wrapped around it, me a bottle and a stick. Layne’s hair half in dreads and curls with his goatee braided and one of my beads dangling on the end of it. He’s wearing ripped up jean shorts and Dem and I in our bikinis. His and Demri’s chests bare and golden from the sun, sparkles in our eyes and smiles, lots of smiles. We were going to worship, have a drum circle with our friends on the shores of Lake Washington and swim in it’s waters on a hot summer day"

So according to both women, Jerry was there, but there are also many other names on the list as Fabiola says...

These are Krisha (left, unknown date) and Fabiola (right, 1993) with Demri:

I honestly cannot see them on the photo. I tought Fabiola was the one in red in the bottom, but she says she was wearing a bikini...

And this is Alice in Chains in 1989 (source) (L-R Sean Kinney, Mike Starr, Layne and Jerry), and Jerry in 1993 with sunglasses and a ponytail (source)

So yeah, the guy next to Layne with the sunglasses might could be Jerry but somehow we don't know... Jerry said he and Layne had matching tattoos because they had a very strong bond (he took care of the cat Sadie when Layne passed away) but I don't know when they got them...

According to both Krisha and Fabiola they did this the whole summer, so maybe that day they weren't there (the photo was taken by Anna Hrnjak) but maybe Jerry and even the other AIC members were there on another occasion.

As said, we are not very familiar with AIC, but there are many tumblr blogs here that are, so hopefully someone can help with that!

I know we have some photos of Demri with the whole band or with Sean, but it would be great to see her hanging with the other band members!

I know this blog is for Demri's career, but I'd like to know something about her personal life. What was her relatioship with the other AIC members? And their girlfriends? Do you know? Thank you very much, you have a lovely blog here, very underrated, I hope more people find it and share it, as sadly today Demri is more remembered bc her Layne/AIC connexion or drugs than for her own careers.

I actually don't know, there's very few photos of Demri with AIC members or their girlfriends.

This is the only photo of her with the band (plus girlfriends that no one seems to recognize, from the 1991 MTV Awards). They look all in friendly terms:

She was touring with the band when they were opening for Van Halen. She stopped doing that when it became "an issue" (so I've read, I suppose it means drugs).

There's some photos of Demri with Sean Kinney (aka the funny drummer), from 1990 and 1991:

And one with Mike Starr, from 1991 as well... shared by fan Mike Anderchek @anderchekmike:

She was also close to his sister Melinda (in 1988 by Randy Houser):

No photos with Jerry, aka "The Riff Lord" (who was the closest to Layne, like matching tattoos, lived together before AIC signed in, etc), but with one of his girlfriends at a time (he dated multiple women, saying he doesn't believe in monogamy), Krisha Augerot. They actually worked together, so maybe Krisha met Jerry through Demri?

Krisha (and Jerry, but not in this photo) would join Demri and Layne with Fabiola and other friends for drumming circles at Magnuson Park. This is from 1989 (all the info here...):

Demri also joined AIC in 1992 when took regufee at theJoshua Tree park flying over the LA riots after the murder of Rodney King by the police. I've just seen pics of Demri and Layne,no other band members or their couples.

I don't know anything about Mike Inez, he replaced Mike Starr in 1993, but I don't think she was close to him...

It would be interesting to know more about her friendship with the band and the other girlfriends. I'm pretty sure when they were touring together the women had so fun visiting all these cool places and cheering backstage or, in Demri's case, front row!

My final show of the year is this weekend at Hangar 30 / Magnuson Park | Seattle WA. It's a Holiday show, but it's also basically if you took the artist alley/exhibitor hall from a geeky convention and let you get in for just $2! Ok it's literally that :D More info at this link

I'll share some images of a few things I'll have this year, but there are a TON of new prints, especially in the hand embellished Limited Edition Category.

There will be a bin of Original artwork including a few on sale (PS my shop will be closed for a week for the show)

I'll have bundles and singles of my new Rune Owls stationary planner series

And a few other things at my booth: tons of stickers, washi tape, prints, mouse pads, and gaming playmats / deskmats.

And there will be a limited selection of discount blind bags for old and retired prints packed up all nice like this! There are different themes, like dragons, fantasy mix, and animals and nature. Each pack has 15 prints for $30. If any are left after the show I'll throw them to my mailing list.

I'll also have B-Grade enamel pins in these absolutely adorable gift boxes. The black box has 4 pins for $20 ($60 value) and the gold box is $40 ($120 value). These are ridiculous "I desperately need to move these ASAP because I'm tired of them taking up precious space" prices. Again, if there are any left over I'll toss them up on my site next week to the mailing list. ;D

"When Chang ended its run in June 1983, a number of unusual theatrical productions filled the Monday night slot, most notably Kestutis Nakas' Titus Andronicus. When Nakas approached Bradley about doing an extremely bloody yet comic production of Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus in serial form, his experience was similar to John Jesurun's—Bradley was unexpectedly enthusiastic. Nakas assembled an "all-star cast" by Pyramid standards: Ann Magnusun, John Kelly, John Sex, Mark Oates, Bill Rice, Steve Buscemi, and Mark Boone, Jr. The series lasted five weeks, one act per week. Titus Andronicus earned Nakas not only the respect of the Pyramid staff but also a job teaching at NYU in the Experimental Theatre Wing. DISABLED PEOPLE aren’t supposed to be anywhere—let alone the woods—having a great time, as evinced by the tiny blonde girl who screams as I speed by on my racing recumbent trike. “But why is she riding that, Mommy? Why is she riding that thing?” “Because it feels amazing!” I yell at her over my shoulder. I have upset the entire orientation of her universe just by being me, in public, completely shredding the hell out of the Magnuson Park trail network in this adaptive trike that weighs maybe eighteen pounds. The girl is still bellowing “Why?” while her no doubt embarrassed parents shush her. But I’m already a half mile away. Michel Foucault said “visibility is a trap,” a sentiment echoed by Black trans disabled scholars like Tourmaline. Trans visibility doesn’t equal fewer trans murders or more trans justice. I agree. Ads featuring Paralympians don’t help raise Social Security Disability Insurance rates from below the sub-sub poverty line, raise caregiver wages above the subminimum wage, or end police violence against disabled Black, Indigenous, and people of color, who are 50 percent of all people killed by the cops every year—organizing does that. It’s also true that enjoying ourselves (in ways the abled many never have conceived of) in our vibrant, weird, improbable crip body-minds has the power to shock the abled and upend their ideas of the way things—bodies, movement, life—are supposed to be.
