WangxianPatriarch 💕
Masterpost of Tickle Fics (AO3)
Tumblr media
Probably not everyone knows this but for a while I was very focused on MDZS and TGCF and ran my sideblog @wangxianpatriarch for posting both tickle and non tickle fics, videos, edits and memes among other things, solely for these fandoms.
Within a short time, the blog got even more 'popular' than my main, proving to me how tickling is still such a niche. Then, I lost my hyperfocus and pretty much dropped it, so it had been pretty inactive already before it got deleted.
The fics can still be found on AO3 but because they are scattered on a separate account that also has a lot of non tickle fics, I will post the list here. Some of them are collabs with @ticklygiggles and might be on Tumblr if she posted them, but most are hehe, well yeah.. gone.

Day 2 - Ginny's birthday Extravaganza
A/N: Today we have wonderful WangXian *sobs quietly* I hope you enjoy them very much, my dearest @otomiya-tickles ❤️
Summary: The disrespect of thinking Patriarch Yeiling is ugly is an unforgivable act.
Tumblr media
"Lan zhan!!! They keep making my face look so ugly! I don't even look like I did in my past life!"
Wei WuXian cried and even though his heart jumped when he saw his dear husband sitting quietly in front of his Guqin, he still made a beeline towards him, whining things like a child that not even him could totally comprehend.
Wei WuXian thought his little visit to Caiyi City, (to sneak a present for his husband just because he wanted to), would be a very calm walk, but as he approached a stall, his eyes were immediately drawn to some posters adorning a neighboring stall. Wei WuXian had gasped dramatically seeing that in these posters there was a really ugly man painted with black clothing and on the bottom of the drawing there was a name that made his hair stand on end: Yiling Patriarch.
Wei WuXian was a humble man, but he also knew he was quite handsome in his past life, (Lan Zhan said so as well), and even in this life his face was not bad at all. So why were they disgracing him like this?
Collapsing right next to Lan WangJi with a soft sob, he showed his husband two posters, one more horrendous than the other. Lan WangJi finally stopped playing his Guqin and he turned to look at the paintings. They were really well made and at least the clothing was correct, but didn't everyone know how good-looking the Yiling Patriarch was?!
"Aren't they terrible, Lan Zhan?!" He said, little tears at the corners of his eyes. "I'm very sure my face was very handsome before, do you think so too?! Why are they doing this?!"
He looked at his husband and his crying immediately stopped as he saw his lover's expression. Wei WuXian narrowed his eyes.
To everyone's eyes, Lan WangJi's expression was not different from one of pure boredom and disinterest, but Wei WuXian has been together with him for quite some time now and he had learned to read his expressions so easily; Wei WuXian could say with certainty that Lan WangJi wasn't bored and disinterested, he actually wanted to laugh?!
"Lan Zhan, I don't look like this at all," Wei WuXian said slowly, some kind of a warning tone wrapping his words. "Do I?" He raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms, waiting for an answer.
Lan WangJi studied the paintings very closely and Wei WuXian swore he saw the corner of his mouth trembling, trying to hold back a smile. After what felt like an eternity, Lan WangJi covered his mouth and cleared his throat.
"These drawings..."
Wei WuXian nodded, urging him to continue. "Yes?"
"These people in these posters… they really look like Wei Ying."
Wei WuXian widened his eyes, choking slightly as he gasped loudly.  "How could you?!" He claimed with a little cough. "We don't look alike at all, what are you talking abo-" he shut his mouth and raised his eyebrows when Lan WangJi suddenly turned to the other side, still covering his mouth.
His husband's shoulders started trembling. He was laughing! Making fun of him! How could Lan Zhan be so adorably mean? Wei WuXian's heart did somersaults, but he still acted hurt.
"Hmph! I wonder what would Lan Zhan do if there were hundreds of ugly drawings of his face all around town!" That only caused another wave of laughter to shake Lan WangJi's shoulder and Wei WuXian caught a glimpse of his lover's ears, they were blushing bright red.
Wei WuXian couldn't help but smile on his own, shaking his head fondly. Even after all this time, Lan WangJi kept surprising him with this playful side of his. Wei WuXian thought it was adorable, so he couldn't stop himself from teasing his husband a little.
"I see. So Lan Zhan thinks this is funny, huh?" He said, approaching his lover as quietly as possible. "If Lan Zhan thinks this is funny I might as well show him what really is funny." He then reached out, both hands latching onto Lan WangJi's sides and digging into his ribs.
The sudden touch made Lan WangJi jump and let out an honest-to-god squeak that ringed in Wei WuXian's ears. It only took a few squeezes to have Lan WangJi laughing brightly, all of that held-in laughter plus the laughter caused by the sudden tickle attack to his ribs had Lan WangJi's fair cheeks turning pink as he fell back against Wei WuXian's chest.
"Did you want to laugh, Lan Zhan? How's this? Are you enjoying your tickling?"
"N-Nohohoho! W-Wehehei Y-Yihihing!" Lan WangJi laughed, shaking and jerking, trying to escape from Wei WuXian's hands. "I ahahaham sohohohorry!"
Wei WuXian giggled, his fingers clawing at Lan WangJi's lowest ribs, making his husband throw his head back against his shoulder with beautiful cackles that made Wei WuXian get pleasant chills. He truly couldn't have enough of that sweet laughter.
"Now you're sorry, huh?" He whispered against Lan WangJi's ears, lips blushing against the reddened skin, making his husband shiver. "I bet you now think I look very handsome, right? These people don't look like me at all right?"
Lan WangJi shook his head no, kicking his legs when he felt Wei WuXian's thumbs rubbing on the back of his ribs, his spine arched as he laughed and laughed, his hands uselessly pawing at Wei WuXian's.
"Thehehehey dohoho nohohot!" Lan WangJi cackled. "I wahahas johohohoking!"
"Were you now? Maybe I can tickle you here jokingly?" He teased, one of his hands reaching down to Lan WangJi's stomach. "Right, Er-gege?"
Lan WangJi shrieked, shaking his head. "NOHOHO!"
Wei WuXian cried when Lan WangJi was suddenly on his feet, trembling and still giggling as he tried to run away. Wei WuXian blinked a couple of times before he threw his head back with a bark of laughter, happiness overflowing him.
"Ah, so you want to act this way, Lan Zhan? Then I'll get you ten times worse when I catch you!"
"Stahahap thihis instahahant!"
"Not until you apologize to your poor husband, Lan Zhan! I'm so hurt!"
The posters were soon forgotten as both men got caught up in a ridiculous chase that had both of them laughing freely and happily. Ah, Wei WuXian was a lucky man, he could stand being drawn with a ugly face if that meant he could have moments like this with his favorite person in the whole world!

Keep quiet? 🤫
I think I started this one because of a prompt about tickling, maybe, if I remember right?? It starts out with teen LWJ whose repressed horny aggression toward WWX finally breaks in the form of a tickle attack (sort of in place of the bite in mdzs), and then flash forward to their adult activities where LWJ tickles WWX in some semi-public place and he has to keep quiet and things turn sexy. I haven't decided if that's a "getting together" moment or if they have an established relationship. This one is not very developed, there's a lot of "something something" in the plot, but I did write a bit where I replaced the library scene with WWX printing out dirty fanart on the printer in the school computer lab and asking LWJ to hand it to him.

Ok last thing but I think my favorite thing about the infamous jiang cheng stans vs wei wuxian stan behavior is that wei wuxian would HATE people who make up stuff and reach on story points to vilify jiang cheng because that's literally why he died

Look At Me
Tumblr media
Summary: All Lan Zhan wanted to do was have a quiet discussion with his brother.
Obviously, Wei Wuxian decided he needed to have other plans.
A/n: This is a birthday fic for my friend @otomiya-tickles! I hope that you have the most loveliest of birthdays and that you get to enjoy it with the ones you love and hold dear! You deserve it, my friend! And I hope that this fic makes you smile with these two and their shenanigans! You can also read on AO3 at: https://archiveofourown.org/works/41716518

----------------------
“Lan Zhan!  Lan Zhan!  Hey, Lan Zhan!  Lan Zhan won’t you look at me?  Look at me, Lan Zhan!  Lan Wangji!  Lan Wangji, I’m up here!  Look!  Look!”
Lan XiChen covered his mouth to hide a smile, looking over at his little brother and noticing the light blush dusting the normally unflappable man’s cheeks and nose.
“Come now, little brother.  First you deny him coming along on our little outing and now you ignore him completely?” the elder asked, fighting a bigger smile as he was met with a half-hearted glare.
“Yes,” Lan Zhan said flatly as he continued walking, ignoring the increasingly ridiculous shouts he was hearing.
They hadn’t been walking for more than ten minutes outside of the Cloud Recesses when the unmistakable sound of Wei Wuxian had descended upon them.  Lan Zhan thought that he had been very clear in his answer this morning to Wei Wuxian when the man asked if he could go.
“No.”
And then when the man had started to follow him out of the Jingshi he had stopped him and gave him an order.
“Stay.”
Truly, nothing could’ve been misinterpreted from either of those words.  Nothing!  And yet…
“Lan Zhan!  Aren’t you going to yell at me to get down?!”
“Lan Wangji, how heartless!  How cruel!  What if I were to fall?!  What then!?”
“Er-gege pleeeease!  Look at meeeee!”
Lan Zhan paused, eyes closed as he brought a hand up to pinch the bridge of his nose for a moment, taking in a deep breath as he tried to ignore both his husband's insanity and his brother attempting to not laugh at his plight.
“If I look at you, you will continue to follow.  You can not do so.”
“If you don’t look at me, I will follow you anyway!” Wei Ying’s voice carried over to him, the hint of mischief it held absolutely palpable.
“Wei Ying,” Lan Zhan warned, taking a deep breath and wondering why his husband had to be this way.
“Lan Zhan,” Wei Ying cooed back from somewhere above them, probably in the trees.
“Lan XiChen,” Lan Wangji’s brother piped in, a light smile on his face, his silly remark making Wei Wuxian’s laughter ring through the clearing and Lan Zhan glower even more.
“Oh come now, little brother.  I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t forgotten about in the midst of this fun,” he teased, making Lan Wangji narrow his eyes more.
“Fun?”
“Yes, Er-gege!  Look at all the fun we’re having!  Or could be having… if only you would loooooook aaaaaat meeeeee!” Wei Yings voice cried, making the great Hanguang-Jun bow his head in defeat.
“Little brother… I really don’t think he will leave you in peace until you look at him,” Lan XiChen said softly, laying a hand on his brother’s shoulder and offering him a kind smile.
With a quiet sigh, Lan Zhan nodded.  He knew that his brother was right.  And he knew Wei Ying would follow them even longer if he didn’t give into this childish game.
Resolved to see the smug smile of his husband beaming down at him, Lan Zhan looked up into the trees that he had heard Wei Yings voice coming from only to find the branches vacant.
Lan Wangji’s brow furrowed for a moment as he carefully scanned the area, his ears listening for the faintest hint of his lover.
“Wei Ying?” he called, after a moment, knowing his husband could never deny answering him back.
“Oh?  Does Er-gege wish to see me now?  After he so cold heartedly denied me!”
“Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji sighed as he turned quickly to chase after the voice that echoed behind him, only to see his brother smiling at him and giving a little shrug.
“Don’t ‘Wei Ying’ me, Lan Zhan!  If you want to see me now, you’ll have to find me!”
Lan Wangji thought his head was going to explode.
All he had wanted to do was discuss a few matters with his brother in peace.  But Wei Ying could never allow himself not to be a part of anything and everything.
Now, Lan Zhan loved his husband.  Adored him.  Would move heaven and earth for him.
But that didn’t mean that at this moment he didn’t want to throttle him.
There were only two options that Lan Zhan saw before him.
Ignore Wei Ying and have the man continue to follow and pester them like a gnat until he has gotten the attention he wanted.
Or find him, tie him to a tree and leave him in the forest until he and Lan XiChen had finally finished discussing their business.
“I can tell that our walk will have to wait just a bit longer, little brother,” Lan XiChen chuckled, having read all of his brother's thoughts as easily as if he had spoken them aloud and knowing which option he was bound to take.  “I will be here when you return.  Alone or with your husband.”
Lan Wangji huffed and shook his head.
“Alone.”
“We’ll see,” Lan XiChen chuckled as he moved to take a seat beneath one of the trees, deciding to do some reflection while he waited.
“Alone?!  Lan Zhan, why do you keep hurting me in this wa-AAAH!”
In a flash Lan Wangji had taken off into the forest, following his husband's voice easily as the man spoke up.
The shout let him know that he’d picked the right direction to chase after his ridiculous love, but now all was silent again as he stood surrounded by the tall trees of the forest.  The light filtering in from the canopy above cast varying shadows here and there, but nothing to hint at where his husband may have run off to.
“Haha!  You thought you could catch me that easily, Er-gege?” Wei Wuxian’s voice called from around Lan Zhan, making the younger Lan huff in annoyance.
A quiet rustle to his left amidst some bushes instantly drew his attention and he rushed into them, his arms moving the branches back so he could glare at his husband.
Sadly, the only thing he found was a very wide-eyed rabbit looking up at him.
Hysterical laughter echoed around him and Lan Zhan could feel his ears starting to burn in embarrassment.
“Oh!  Oh sweet, Lan Wangji!  That was priceless!” Wei Ying called out over his laughter as Lan Zhan gave the rabbit an apologetic little nod and moved the branches back into place to give the poor animal some peace.
Lan Zhan turned around once more, his eyes glancing around the forest and looking for that one hint that would tell him where his imp of a husband might be.
He was the great Hanguang-Jun!  He couldn’t allow his husband to get under his skin and best him in this ridiculous game of hide and seek!  Even if he was the Yiling Patriarch!
This was literal childsplay.  He could win and then carry on with his business as intended!
“What’s this?  Has Lan Zhan decided he doesn’t want to see his darling husband again?!  Oh Er-gege!  You wound me so!” Wei Ying called through the trees.
Lan Zhan growled deeply in his chest at the continued prodding before once more giving chase.
He would later blame his husband for winding him up so as to what happened.
His judgment and observational skills were obviously lacking as his need to find and stop his husband grew and grew and so he made one very simple and easy error.
After one particularly close encounter where Lan Wangji though he had seen an unmistakable red ribbon he had immediately ducked down amidst some ferns.
Wei Ying was sure to get curious and double back wondering where he had gotten to.  And when his lover got close enough, Lan Zhan would rush from his hiding spot, tie the man to the trees he had been hiding behind for the last twenty minutes and finally… Lan Zhan could get some work done!
The idea seemed so concrete in his head that Lan Zhan even allowed himself a tiny, impish smile of his own.
This was his mistake.
Thinking he could out fool a fool.
“Who are you hiding from, Er-gege?”
The voice was whispered directly against his ear and even after all the night hunts he’d been on, Lan Wangji had been so caught up in the chase that Wei Ying’s voice took him completely by surprise.
Before he could so much as shout, Lan Zhan found himself tackled to the ground, his husband cackling in absolute joy at having gotten the literal jump on him.
In an instant he found himself pinned and Wei Wuxian’s bright and smiling face was beaming down at him, both from the joy at finally getting Lan Wangji to look at him and from the terrible fright he’d given him.
“You should’ve seen your face, Lan Zhan!” Wei Ying teased, his hands pinning Lan Wangji’s wrists beside his head as he sat astride his husbands hips, keeping his favorite of the Twin Jades held fast in his clutches.
“Wei Ying!” Lan Zhan growled, trying to shimmy free as he felt his neck and ears growing hot with embarrassment.
“Oh, don’t be like that Er-gege!” Wei Ying cooed, ducking down to nuzzle his nose against his husbands and watching how it crinkled so adorably from the action.
Lan Wangji scrunched his nose at the action, turning his head away with, what he would later deny, a pout.
“Awww… is Lan Wangji angry that I won the game?” Wei Wuxian teased gently, watching as Lan Zhan’s ears and cheeks began to grow more and more red with his words.
A wickedly wonderful idea popping into his head at the sight.
“You should be smiling at seeing your loving and doting husband!  Do you know how lucky you are to have me following you along like this!  Not many people have partners willing to give up their whole day to trail them like I did!”
“Hmph,” Lan Zhan grunted, resolutely refusing to look at Wei Ying now as the teasing continued.
“Oh… so you don’t want to look at me again, is that it?” Wei Ying asked, his thumbs rubbing little circles against his darling husband’s wrists.  “Oh!  Oh I know why!  You’ve become used to just hearing my beautiful voice calling out to you!  You don’t want to look at me so you can focus on the sweetness of my words!  I can absolutely help with that, sweet Er-gege.”
Ducking down, Wei Ying pressed a soft kiss to the shell of Lan Wangji’s ear, making the man startle as his eyes went wide.
A little known fact of the Gusu Clan was that Lan Wangji had his weaknesses.
Sadly, Wei Wuxian had discovered all of them.
And the one he loved the best was that his darling Lan Wangji was ticklish.
The best part?  The more flustered the great Hanguang-Jun… the more ticklish he became.
So currently, his ears were like a shining red beacon that this was prime ticklish Er-gege time.
“What’s the matter, Lan Zhan?” Wei Ying whispered against his husband’s ear, feeling the man already twitching up his shoulder as his lips brushed the sensitive skin.  “Isn’t this what you wanted?  To hear my voice so close to you?”
Lan Zhan closed his eyes at the sensation that zipped down his spine from Wei Wuxian’s words.  Wei Ying’s breath ghosting across his heated ear mixing with the soft caress of his lips was already making Lan Zhan want to giggle in the most undignified way!
“W-Wei Yihing!” he warned, trying to tug at his hands again to free himself because he knew that his tickle monster of a husband was now on the hunt.
“Yes, my jade?” Wei Wuxian purred, giving a soft little nibble to Lan Zhans ear and making him scrunch up with a ridiculous little squeak. “Tihihickles!” Lan Zhan finally giggled out, unable to help himself at the continued gentle assault on his poor ear! “What?!  Is that what you’ve been wanting this whole time?!  Why didn’t you just say so, Lan Zhan!” Wei Wuxian murmured with a bright smile, ducking down to press a quick raspberry to Lan Wangji’s neck.
“Nahahahahat thahahat!  W-Wei Yihihing!” Lan Zhan yelped, as a quick succession of raspberries were littered across his increasingly heated skin, embarrassment and mirth warring for what was making him turn scarlet the fastest.
Sadly, the distraction of the raspberries meant he wasn’t paying attention to his wrists being free as Wei Wuxian’s fingers sought his worst spot.
“Oh?  Were you thinking of something even mooooore tickly?  Like maybe…. Here!” Wei Ying teased, making sure that he kept his husband as flustered as possible as he went in for his favorite spot.  His fingers quickly moved to the sides of Lan Zhans stomach, fingers vibrating quickly against the tender spots in a way he knew would drive his sweet Er-gege crazy.
And Lan Wangji went absolutely wild.
As soon as Lan Zhan felt the ticklish vibrations against his sensitive tummy he couldn’t hold back the loud and unrestrained laughter that escaped him.
“WEI YIHIHING NOHOHOAHAHA!” Lan Zhan cried out, his head tipped back as bright and carefree laughter was easily teased out of him by his ridiculous husband.
Wei Wuxian honestly couldn’t help joining in with his laughter.  There was something so joyful and beautiful hearing it.  It was like his own secret gift.  No one got to hear his husband like this and he was blessed to be able to make it happen whenever he wanted!
“Wei Wuxian yehehehes!” he teased back, moving one hand up to knead at his lower ribs as the other hand focused on spidering all over the center of his poor tummy.
Lan Wangji arched his back against the forest floor, his hands moving down to grab onto Wei Ying’s wrists, but having no strength to do much more than hold him.  “Stahahahap!  Ihihit tihihickles, Wei Yihi-HIHing!” he called out through his laughter, trying to curl away from the hand attacking his ribs.
“That’s what you asked for, Lan Zhan!  Remember?” Wei Ying teased as he continued his playful assault.  “You asked for tickles!”
“I dihihihidn’t!“ Lan Zhan giggled ridiculously as Wei Wuxians fingers now spidered along his sides, making him shimmy back and forth like he was doing a little dance where he lay.
“Oh?  Maybe I misunderstood!  My apologies, Lan Zhan!  But you know… I think I deserve an apology too,” Wei Wuxian offered back with a bright grin as he shot his hands down to knead against Lan Zhans hips.
“Whahahat?!” Lan Wangji shouted before being overcome with deep belly laughter at the ticklish shocks being sent through him.
“An apology!  For not wanting to look at me and not letting me come with you!”
Lan Zhan couldn’t believe what he was hearing!  Wei Ying wanted him to apologize?!  He hadn’t done anything wrong!
“Nohoho apology-hehehehe!  Stahahahap!” Lan Zhan cried out as his tummy was once again put under a ticklish bombardment, Wei Yings twin claw attack, a name his ridiculous husband had given it, doing its worst to break him down.
“Apologize to your poor husband, Lan Zhan!” Wei Ying cooed.
“NOhohohoho!”
“I’ve got all day!”
“Plehehehehase?!”
“That’s not an apology, Lan Zhan!  I know you know what one sounds like!”
Lan Zhan was going absolutely crazy as his worst spot continued to get such ticklish treatment, Wei Yings fingers switching between scribbles, vibrations and even wiggling against his poor bellybutton.
Finally, Lan Zhan knew he had no choice.
“I-I’m sahahahahaharry!  I’m sorry-hehehe, Wei Yihihihihihing!  Plehehehase stahahahahap!”
In an instant the tickles ceased and Lan Zhan felt his entire body collapse into a giggly puddle.
“See?  Was that so hard, Er-gege?” Wei Wuxian asked, smiling down at his poor husband who was trying to catch his breath between his residual giggles.
“Yehehes,” Lan Zhan panted, though he found he still had a smile on his face, even after being put through such a trial.  “Why?”
Wei Wuxian seemed surprised by the sudden question, his head cocking to the side as he looked down at Lan Wangji.  “Why?  Why what, Lan Zhan?” the Yiling patriarch asked, his hands moving to soothe away the residual tickles against Lan Zhans sides and stomach.
Lan Wangji twitched at the soft contact before slowly relaxing, his hands moving to gently rest on Wei Wuxian’s hips.  “Why did you follow?” he asked softly, watching as Wei Wuxian’s cheeks dusted in a rare blush.  Something his shameless husband hardly ever did.
“I… I don’t know,” Wei Ying mumbled, not looking at Lan Zhan.
Lan Wangji couldn’t help the way his heart fluttered at the sight and brought a hand up to cup his cheek.  “Look at me,” he murmured, echoing the words Wei Wuxian had been shouting at him not too long ago.
After a moment, Wei Ying’s eyes found his own.  “I didn’t want to be alone.  I… wanted to be with you today.”
“Today?” Lan Zhan asked gently.
“Today… tomorrow… forever?” Wei Wuxian whispered, blushing more and nuzzling into his husband's palm.  “I don’t like being away from you.”
Lan Zhan smiled gently and shook his head.  “It would’ve only been an hour.”
“It would’ve felt like a lifetime,” Wei Wuxian grumbled, quickly ducking down to hide his reddened face against Lan Zhans chest.  “Look at what Er-gege has done to me!  Making me blush and get all flustered and tell you things!”
Lan Zhan chuckled softly at his husband’s muffled words and wrapped his arms around him, hugging him closer.
“You can come with me.”
Wei Ying’s head instantly popped up as he heard that, his eyes wide in surprise.
“Really?!  I don’t have to go back to the Jingshi alone?!”
Lan Zhan shook his head.  “No,” he promised, bringing Wei Wuxian back down to hug him just that little bit tighter.  “Follow me… always.”

So what is your media obsession du jour? :)
OMG. No one has ever actually asked me this before, and that's been the tag on my blog for years.
Okay, so the Big answer to that question is probably Mo Dao Zu Shi (MDZS) AKA The Untamed. That's been my primary fixation for like, 2 years now. Look at either of those tagged on my blog and you will find ENTIRELY too many posts reblogged. It's a chinese "boy love" xianxia (like, magic swords/spirit fighting) story that you can consume as a book, any of three TV shows (animated, aniamted chibi shorts, live action on netflix), a comic, or a radio drama.
It's a beautiful story about war and politics and love and loss and grief and family and Doing What's Right and power and corruption all wrapped up in magic around my FAVORITE couple. Seriously if you love mutual pining and unwavering devotion and angst and sacrifice and miscommunication and a love that makes two people the best versions of themselves, you should give it a try. And if you like kinky sex you should give the book or its fanfic a try. The show's the most accessible. Give it a couple episodes though. It infamously leaves the first impression of "wow this is trash why are y'all so obsessed with this" until it hooks you and never lets go. Overall plot is 1/3 love story, 1/3 magic murder mystery, and 1/3 flashbacks of all the politics and tragedy and magic that got them to this place.
The smaller answer that's more accurate to the 'Du Jour' would be Brennan Lee Mulligan and friend's Dungeons and Dragons games. Just finished Exandria Unlimited: Calamity (All four episodes are on youtube for free. It's short but packs a punch as some of the best Dnd I've ever seen) and am going to start Dimension 20's A Court of Fey and Flowers this weekend!

It had been a bad day since the very moment he woke up that morning, so by midday, Jin Ling already wanted to crawl back to his room and sleep for the rest of the day and until tomorrow morning.
He never thought that being a Sect Leader would be easy... but he didn't think it would be that hard, either. He was getting better at it, as time passed by he needed less and less help from Jiang Cheng and the other Sect Leaders. He was proud, but tired and irritated, too.
Could it be that he was slowly turning into his uncle?
"Sect Leader Jin." Jin Ling looked up from the paper he was reading on his desk. A subordinate bowed deeply in front of him. "There's someone wanting to see you."
Jin Ling frowned, "What? Who?" He then sighed, shaking his head. "Nevermind, I don't even want to know. Tell them to come back tomorrow, I'm terribly busy right now and-
"Huh? So I can't come in?"
He should have suspected it. It really didn't surprise him that much to see that person walking into his office as if it were his own home, but a sudden tension raised against his forehead and Jin Ling rubbed it with his fingers, letting out a groan.
"S-Sect Leader?"
Jin Ling nodded, waving his head to the servant. "It's fine. You can leave." And so he did, bowing deeply one more time before leaving and closing the door, leaving the sudden visitor inside, grinning proudly.
"What'd you want, Wei WuXian?"
Wei WuXian pouted, "Ow, is this how my nephew welcomes me?" Jin Ling groaned again, rubbing at his temples.
"I'm busy. Please just tell me what you want and leave quickly." He looked up and was surprised to see Wei WuXian looking at him with slight concern.
"Long day, huh?"
Before he knew it, he had told Wei WuXian every single thing that had happened in that disastrous day, ignoring the heat on his cheeks as he felt like he was just complaining like a child. To his surprise, Wei WuXian listened intently, nodding and widening his eyes at the right times, encouraging Jin Ling to continue.
Jin Ling sighed, "... this morning I..."
When he was done, he let out a long breath, his eyes feeling heavy, but the pain in his temples was gone and he was able to breathe easier. He hadn't even noticed when did Wei WuXian take a seat beside him, but there he was, patting him in the back, comforting him.
Jin Ling blushed.
"Did something else happen?" Wei WuXian asked kindly, a warm smile pulling at his lips. Jin Ling shook his head. "You're doing an amazing job, Jin Ling. No matter what other people have to say about the young Sect Leader, you have been doing your job perfectly."
Jin Ling stared at him and then he nodded, his eyes glued back to the paper on his desk. A 'thank you' felt heavy against his tongue, but he held it back, furrowing his eyebrows as he read the paper.
Wei WuXian giggled, "c'mon, leave that for now! You're just like Jiang Cheng, goodness," he said and Jin Ling opened his mouth to protest, but instead of words, what came out from his lips was a tirade of giggles as Wei WuXian wiggled his fingers against Jin Ling's ribs.
Jin Ling was not used to it, so any attempts to stop his laughter were simply useless. He tried to get away, to escape from his uncle's malicious hands, but as soon as his arm had moved away from his side while trying to drag himself out of his predicament, Wei WuXian attacked his armpit and Jin Ling collapsed with laughter.
"STAHAHAP! Whahahat ahahare you dohohohing?!" He laughed, embracing himself because he just didn't know what to do.
Wei WuXian laughed, "I'm just trying to help you relax! Just so you know, this was very effective to your uncle too," Wei WuXian winked, even though Jin Ling couldn't see him.
"I dohohohubt ihihit!" He cackled, kicking his legs and trying to roll away. "Okahahay! Okahahay, stahahap plehehease!"
"Should I? Do you feel any better?"
Jin Ling shrieked, feeling Wei WuXian's other hand worming up to his free armpit. "I DOHOHO! Plehehease, nohoho mohohore!"
Wei WuXian stopped and Jin Ling went limp against the wooden floor, breathing heavily, little giggles still escaping his mouth.
He hated to admit it, but now he felt even lighter and this time, those two words rolled out of his mouth without a second thought: "Thank you."
Wei WuXian smiled fondly, "No problem, A-Ling. Now get up, Lan Zhan is actually waiting for us outside. Let's go eat something together!"
Jin Ling smiled, nodding softly before fixing his hair and clothes. A free afternoon wouldn't hurt too much, right? Not when he had people like his uncles, supporting and guiding him to become a great Sect Leader.

ok but
i came up with what i think is an incredibly cute idea for a mdzs au and i really might add it to my project list cuz it tickles my fancy.
i'm dying thinking about it so let me give as small of a summary as i can here lmao
*the big change here is LWJ. LWJ is essentially a lot less restrictive, but...mainly with WWX! Think of this slightly like a sober-drunk LWJ.
-WWX meets LWJ at Cloud Ressesses, as per usual. he's still strict, but something about him seems softer around WWX than with other people, and others notice it immediately while WWX has no fucking clue. (this doesn't mean he's not aware, this just means it's too early for him to understand there's a difference).
-LWJ intentionally catches WWX every time he does something against the rules, and is secretly the happiest guy ever bc he now gets to sit with WWX every day for hours. this will help it still be a surprise for WWX when LWJ starts opening up to him bc why does strict lan suddenly wanna friend me??
-it does not take long before LWJ is actually seeming to open up even if not in the way WWX expected. (at least a month so after his punishment) as a result, WWX stops doing as much bad things to get LWJ's attention, and simply hangs out with him a ton. (Jc is a bit jealous bc he always wants the two to hang alone. He doesn't think about it too much though cuz wwx is always outgoing so he thinks he's probably overthinking it- not that he thinks they're in a relationship at this point)
-WWX starts behaving a bit, just because he wants to hang around longer, but still ends up punching Jin Zixuan. As a result, LWJ convinces uncle to let him go to Lotus pier as both an escort and to study there since he's already a great lan student! (aka he just wants to stick around WWX) and after a great battle with the of eyes he is allowed to go.
-Thus starts the little adventures of our young couple doing whatever the hell they want for a while.
maybe i'll touch more on this later but
i decided to nickname the au "He's Definitely Sober" for now. if i change it i change it lol
i mean...think about it, just imagine this scene but with a sober lwj. i would literally die. it's like, some of my favorite things. I have always wished there was more of this lmao
scenario for fun-
LWJ: Wei Ying. WWX: Lan Zhan?
LWJ: I love Wei Ying. WWX: You what
LWJ: I want to court you. WWX: YOU WHAT
LWJ: i'll ask uncle in the morning. WWX: ////////???? REWIND.
LWJ: *shoves armful of gentian flowers in his arms* please. WWX, lost, flustered, and who knows what else: o...okay.
...and thus an awkward convo with jc the next day:
WWX, holding his flowers: so...
JC: *squints* WWX: i might have gotten asked about being courted...
JC: ...you're a man! WWX: i said that too but...
JC: but?? WWX: we're both guys so its hard to argue against
JC: *freezes, looking seconds from qi deviation*
somewhere in the Yashi Lan Qiren is also looking pretty similar.
