Himeka Shinso is, at her core, a morally grey person. She's a mean girl with a superiority complex fuelled by the nature of her Quirk.

Himeka's used to getting what she wants and being spoiled because she's a brat, intentional or not; but after her Quirk manifested, a part of her that no one came to be.

Simon Says, she named it. It allowed her to use her voice to make others copy her or follow her commands. In the time after she manifested her Quirk, a superiority complex began to grow inside her. There wasn't anyone strong enough to break her power and soon started to see people as her servants.

It made her better in school when she'd use her powers-- intentional or not-- to cheat and lie. It got her further in life.

Kids at school would call her a manipulator which she didn't like but didn't hate either. She lied, cheated, trampled over anyone on her way to the top using her Quirk to do so. At some point, she just said fuck it and wore the manipulator thing with pride. Besides, who's going to step up and challenge her?

And now she's a U.A. student. She's made it to the top of the mountain. Himeka has no qualms about wanting to be a hero, but her methods make her controversial. She makes the villains turn against each other, watches them destroy one another because that, in her mind, is the most effective way to fight crime. She manipulates and twist their minds into ruining each other, like they're pawns in her game.

Himeka is not insecure about what she can do, she's insecure about how she shouldn't do.
