Alternative Chapter Thirty of ATOT
I struggled a lot writing the final chapter of ‘A Treason of Thorns’.  I actually at one point had two different versions of the chapter.  The Hunter version ended up winning in the end but I kept the Eda version and decided why not post it here?  Well, tell me which version you like more and if I should post this on A03 as maybe a bonus short or something.
TW for panic attacks.
——— Eda
It had been three months since the defeat of Belos, three months since the Hexsquad as they called themselves had been restored to being teenagers again.  Back to the same age as they had been on the Day of Unity though Hunter had one extra year removed from him.  Plus three months since Blondie had returned back to life as a human-witch hybrid and started to live at the Owl House.  Eda was getting use to seeing him around the house though she did notice he was trying to avoid her and Raine.  She wasn’t sure why the kid was keeping his distance from them.  Well, that wasn’t true.  She had a good idea why he was avoiding her.
Hunter was afraid of doing something to get himself thrown out.  Despite her reassurances that he wouldn’t, he clearly didn’t want to test her.  Eda was certain the kid had too good of a heart to do anything that would warrant actually kicking him out.  He was a hard worker (probably worked too hard) always seemed to be doing something around the house.  He was always doing laundry, doing the dishes, sweeping and cleaning, tending to Hooty or spending his few short hours of freedom he gave himself to read.  The Owl House had never been so clean before Hunter had come to stay.  The first two months and a half of his stay he was always working.  Anytime he wasn’t working he was in his room reading or out with the other kids.  Luz and him had a good relationship especially considering how it started, and she even saw him warming up to King though she knew he didn’t know how to act around him most of the time.
Hunter worked hard, avoided most of the adults that came and went from the Owl House (especially Lilith), and kept himself isolated most of the time he wasn’t with his friends.  Then there were the nightmares.  She had dealt with her own fair share of her own nightmares, dealt with Luz’s before.  She still carried around the trauma from the attempted Petrification and now she carried new trauma piled on top of it.  But Luz was far more open about her pain, and didn’t shy away from asking for help as much as Hunter did.  Eda figured it had been beaten into (more then likely literally) by Belos.  Hunter did not ask for help, claimed to not need it, and pushed away anyone except Luz and Willow.  And even when he accepted from them Eda still knew he was hiding a good deal from both of them.  She tried not to push him, but she was starting to worry about him.  She didn’t fail to notice how he started carrying around a bag filled with his meager possessions, like he was ready to leave at any second.  He was relapsing.
Eda spoke to the other kids about Hunter, and they all agreed they noticed he wasn’t doing well.  Even when he hung out with them and actually seemed to be enjoying himself, he was closed off and quieter then normal.  Gus said he usually would talk a mile a minute about any subject that had his attention at the moment he had been quiet.  Like his mind was always elsewhere.  Willow told her that when she managed to get some short of answer out of Hunter he told her it was nothing to worry about.  How it would pass eventually, it always did.  Even Amity told her she was worried about Hunter, and those two were mortal enemies at one point in time.  Luz was afraid that what ever The Collector had done had reset his brain completely to the age of fifteen and he was allowing himself to process anything.  Eda couldn’t help but wonder if the same could be said about the other kids who had been restored.
Eda had made a breakthrough sometime after talking about Hunter with the rest of the kids.  She wished it had come under better circumstances.  Hunter was in the kitchen fixing himself a glass of water when she walked into the room.  As usual she saw him quicken his pace, a soft greeting managing to slip from his lips.  She returned the greeting, going for a mug of Apple Blood when she heard the sound of glass shattering.  Eda turned to see Hunter staring at the broken glass with wide eyes, hands already shaking.  He knelt down on the floor and began to try and pick the pieces of glass up with his bare hands before Eda even had a chance to react.
“Hunter don’t-“
“I got it.  I got it.  Don’t need to worry.  I got it.”  His words came out clipped and tight, his breath rapid and panicked.  He was shaking so much that he couldn’t grip any of the pieces of glass and they slipped from hands.  Eda rushed over and pulled him away, earning a gasp of shock from him.  “Please I’ll clean it up!  I’ll clean it up!  Its my fault I’m sorry.”
“Kid, Hunter, its alright.  It’s just a glass but your hands-“
“I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry-“
“It’s alright, its okay.  Nothing serious happened.  It will be fine.”
“I’msorrysorrysorrysorry-“
Hunter sat on the ground trembling like a leaf, digging his bleeding hands into both sides of his head and pulling at his hair by the roots.  Flapjack who never left his side was against the back of his neck shaking himself.  She moved him so he was facing her, pulling his head up to look at her.  She wanted to pry his bleeding hands out of the sides of his head but was nervous about touching him too much.
“Hunter breathe with me.  Come on I know you can do it.  Like this.”  She pressed her bony hand against his chest, palm flat against him to show him.  “In and out, in and out.  Like that. You got this.”
Tears sprung from his eyes as he stared at her, amber eyes wide but pupils pinpricks.  He was still shaking but slowly he removed his still bleeding hands from his head.  She kept up with the breathing, showing him still and he kept his eyes trained on her.  Like she was the only thing in the entire world.  She had seen fear and pain before but he had gone through far more then any child his age should ever.  It was then that she heard the sounds of footsteps coming and turned.  Luz and King stood in the doorway, Luz looking at her with wide eyes but also clear understanding.
“Get the first aid kit and tell Raine, King.  Luz help me get him to the couch.”  Eda turned back to Hunter who eyes were now unfocused and his breathing rattled.  “Hey, its alright.  Your safe here.  No one is going to hurt you.  This is your home and your safe here.  Your safe.  I won’t throw you out.”
Hunter closed his eyes, still trembling but together with Luz they managed to move him to the couch in the living room.  After wrapping him up in a thick blanket she had Luz go and make him a cup of tea.  Willow had left them some after she had started making her own teas, hoping Hunter would take to them instead of coffee but he never had.  Eda enjoyed them from time to time, especially the more calming ones.  Raine came in with King, the little Titan holding the kit while Raine held a bowl full of water and towels.  Together the two of them treated Hunter’s hands, getting all the shards of glass out of his hands and cleaning the blood out of his hair.  Raine whispered something softly to Hunter he relaxed a little more.  Luz came in with a cup of tea that they had him drink down and too long after that, while Raine played a calming tune on their violin, Hunter fell to sleep.
“That was scary,” King muttered.  He climbed up the couch to sit by Hunter while he slept.  Raine kept playing while Luz went through her human scroll looking for something to play herself.  “Why did he do that?”
“Freak out?  Hunter had been through a lot and all the stuff he’s been through has left a lot of him to process.”
“And he hasn’t allowed himself to.”  Raine put down their violin as music began to play from Luz’s scroll, gentle music pulsing from the small speakers.  “He is still trying to go with what he was trained to do.  Make himself useful, ignore how he feels and don’t let others worry.”
“Will he be okay?”
“Hopefully.  He won’t be physically alright for a little while but maybe he will be willing to talk to us after this.”  Eda ran her hand through Hunter’s hair and turned towards the small group of them.  “Why don’t we let him rest here for a while and I’ll show you all how to brew an anti-anxiety potion for Hunter.”
“You have anti-anxiety potions here,” Luz asked and Eda nodded.  They moved away but let the music keep playing while King kept watch over him for a bit.
Eda took the time to show them how to brew the potion before she and Raine made everyone lunch.  The potion was something she use to make for herself when she was on her own.  It made it easier for her to sleep, to carry her burdens.  She had gotten the idea from research and from advice from Healers. Until they could get him to agree to proper therapy it would have to do.  When she returned to the living room a couple of hours later she found Hunter had woken up and was staring at the human’s scroll blankly.
“Hey kid,” she said in a calm tone and she saw his amber flicker over to her.  “You need something to drink?”
“Hm…”  Hunter muttered and attempted to sit up.  He managed to after a few minutes, rubbing the side of his head.  When he spoke his voice was rough.  “I’ll go get myself some water.”
“I’ll get it for you, don’t worry about it Hunter.”
Hunter made a sound that could have been a complaint but leaned back over again to rest his head against the arm.  She headed back into the kitchen to make him a ice of glass water.  She grabbed the anti-anxiety potion on the way, returning to find him still sitting on the couch with that tired expression on his face.  He sat up again when she offered him the glass and took it carefully, bandages hand carefully gripping the glass.  There was still a shake to his hands as he held the glass, but he looked appreciative.
“Eda, I’m sorry about before.”
It had taken minutes before Hunter spoke again, having drained most of his glass.  Eda had come to sit down on one side of him, sipping at her mug.  The music still spayed from the Luz’s human scroll, some light guitar playing soft music that filled the silence.  She put the potion between them and glanced at Hunter.  He was staring at the glass of water with a off expression.
“I should have held myself together before.  I should have been stronger.”
“No one can be strong all the time Hunter,” she replied and she saw his hands shake more.  “I know that Belos must have taught you differently but you don’t have to rely on that teaching anymore.”
“It’s all I know.  I don’t know why it was so easy to slip back into that mindset.”  Hunter chuckled but there was little mirth in his voice.  The next words came out choked, words tight.  “I feel even more like a kid then when I was twenty three or at sixteen.  I am crumbling apart and I don’t understand why.”
“My I touch you?”  Hunter looked over at her, amber eyes scanning her face before she nodded.  Eda put a hand against his head, ruffling his hair.  He tilted his head slightly, clearly confused.  “Listen kiddo, I don’t have all the answers but I know attempting to hold everything in is not doing you any good.  It’s okay to ask for help, to accept help.  It doesn’t mean your a burden or a waste of space.  You are just a kid.  You shouldn’t have to carry those burdens on your own.”
“But-“
“I know, I know.  Technically you were just an adult fighting in a war but as far as it concerns me, you are back to being that kid I met after coming out of the Emperor’s mind.”  She ruffled his hair again and caught him closing closing his eyes, ears wiggling.  She gave him a smile as she removed her hand.  “So I am going to treat you like that.  And you really should start treating yourself like that too.”
“Treat myself like…”  He trailed off, looking down to notice the softly glowing blue potion in between them.  He picked it up after putting his glass down, looking at it.  He looked at her after a few seconds, eyes reflecting the blue glow.  “I don’t know how to treat myself like a person.  I wasn’t allowed to.  And now I am expecting to just become normal?”
“I am not expecting you to suddenly become normal.  I don’t think anyone is.  What is normal anyway?  No.  I expect you to be yourself.  Or learn how to be yourself.”
“Try to learn to be myself.”  He looked at the potion he held in his hands, frowning at it.  “Who even is Hunter?  Who am I?  A tool?  A weapon?”
“The only person who can answer that question is you.  But to me?  You are Hunter.  A messed up kid coming from messed up situation trying to make your own way in life.”
“You sound like Caleb did when he spoke to me in the Isolation Room.”  Hunter uncorked the potion and smelled it, mouth twisting up.  “What is this?”
“Anti-anxiety potion.  Thought you could use it.”
“Hm.”  He downed the potion in a few swallows, making a face when he finished.  “That is nasty!”
“Yeah it is pretty gross!”
They both shared a laugh, Hunter’s being brief but to Eda’s happiness it seemed genuine.  He leaned back against the couch after they both stopped, looking up at the image of the glowing Owl Beast above them.  He put the empty potion bottle down beside him and folded his bandaged hands in his lap.  Eda and Hunter sat in a comfortable silence for a little while, and Eda sipped at her Apple Blood while the music continued to play.  After a while Eda stood up and offered Hunter a hand.
“It’s getting late,” she told him upon his curious expression.  “You should probably eat something before you head to bed and I figure soup would be good on your stomach.  Luckily Raine made some earlier in the day for you.  Also we managed to clean most of the blood out of your hair but you should probably take a shower before bed.”
“I appreciate it.  I mean it.”
Hunter did eat and headed to bed after a shower, Eda assuring him that everything would be alright and she wasn’t throwing him out.  King had gathered a lot of his stuff animals around Hunter’s bed and Luz had his scroll filled up with similar music to what had been playing in the living room and left it playing.  Eda bid him goodnight before she headed to her room.  She made sure to grab an elixir on the way.  Today had been a day.  Raine was waiting for her, leaning by the window and looking out.  They turned as Eda approached, smiling.
“Hunter make it to bed?”
“Yeah.  Managed to get him to talk to me for a little while too.  I think we made some progress.”
“I overheard a little of the conversation while I was getting Luz and King ready for bed.”  Raine wrapped their arms around Eda, sighing softly.  “I am glad he decided to stay here.  I was worried.”
“I am going to see if I can convince him to see the lady Camila recommended the kids see.  Waybright?”
“Hm that sounds like a good idea.  If that doesn’t work out I can always see if Steve knows anyone?”
“Yeah, that sounds like a good call.”  Eda gave a laugh, wrapping her hands around Raine’s waist.  “Look at you Rainstorm, so responsible.”
“I could say the same about you, Owl Lady.  You said you would make a terrible Mother.”
“Heh, I am just trying my best.”
———
The next morning Eda woke up to the smell of cooking coming from the kitchen.  Not an all together unusual occurrence but when she turned in bed she saw Raine was still asleep against her she was surprised.  Eda climbed out of bed and gave Raine a kiss before slipping on her slippers and heading for the kitchen.  Before she even reached the living room she could hear the conversation Luz and Hunter were having though she couldn’t hear the exact words.  The two witches in training were speaking in what sounded like happy tones, some laughing mixed in with King adding to the conversation here and there.  She reached the kitchen and saw Hunter was cooking, Luz standing near by with a grin on her face, with King at the table.  They were all talking to each other in excited voices, Luz making Hunter laugh with some joke she was telling him.  She tilted her head, a smile of her own growing on her face as she watched her kids.
“Morning everyone,” she called and they turned.
“Morning,” Hunter said, turning his attention back to the eggs he was scrambling quickly.  “I got up early-“
“As usual,” Luz said, elbowing him in the side.
“Yes as usual but anyway I thought I would cook everyone breakfast.  To make up for the glass I broke and-“
“You don’t have to make up for anything Hunter,” Eda said, brushing off the idea of it and headed to the fridge.  “But thank you for cooking breakfast.  I’m sure Raine will appreciate not having to cook this morning.”
“Ah,” Hunter’s ear tips turned bright pink but he nodded.  “Its no problem.”
Hunter finished cooking breakfast by the time that Raine came into the kitchen, surprise on their face as they took in what was going on.  Eda did notice though that a smile did quickly replace the shock.  As they all sat around the table Raine helped Hunter set everything as King had already set the table before hand.  As they ate the conversations remained light.  Eda did realize something as the minutes passed; this was the longest he had stayed with the group of them, adults included, since he had come to stay at the Owl House.  He normally took his plate and ate in his room but today he was sitting at the table and eating with them.  It made her feel that they had made progress.
“Later I want to change the bandages on your hands Hunter,” Raine said and he turned before nodding.  “The healing potions we applied should have healed up most of the smaller cuts but I want to make sure the larger cuts are healing well.”
“My hands don’t hurt,” Hunter replied, looking at one of his bandaged hands.  He flexed the raised hand a little and lowered it back down.  “That’s good.”
“Very good.”  Eda took a long draw from her mug before eating some eggs.  “I made enough of that anti-anxiety potion so you have a week or so of it to take.  How do you feel by the way?  Besides your hands.”
“I feel okay.”  He poked at his food for a few moments before eating some of the sausage.  “I didn’t have any nightmares last night, and I feel calm.  Well calmer.”
“Are you okay to hang out with everyone today later?”
Hunter frowned and shook his head.  “If it’s okay with everyone I just want to stay here.  I still feel…”
“Frazzled,” Luz asked and he nodded.  She gave him a bright smile and a thumbs up.  “I’m sure they will understand.  Maybe we could do something later?”
“Yeah.”
“You still need to take it easy after yesterday,” Eda added and Hunter looked over at her, eye brow raised.  “Hey don’t give me that look.  You are still drained from that probably.  Panic attacks are no joke.”
“Which means no chores!”
Hunter jumped up, eyes wide.  “But I have to clean up-“
“We can handle the chores for today, kiddo.  You just relax and maybe finish one of your many books?  Watch something on the crystal ball?”
Hunter settled back down, though his arms were crossed for a while.  He wanted to disagree, that was clear.  She wanted to laugh if it also didn’t break her heart a little.  Always trying to please those around him, trying to show he wasn’t a burden or a thing to be discarded.  That he could be useful.  When he went back to eating after some quiet words from King of all people, she found her mind coming to a decision about how to help with that problem if not solve it completely.
After breakfast Hunter made his way to the couch to relax with King keeping him company and Luz headed out to town.  Eda stayed in the kitchen for a bit, helping Raine with the dishes.  She had made sure Hunter drank another of the potions though before he left the table, suppressing her desire to chuckle at his face.  Dishes wasn’t her favorite chore in the world but eh, it wasn’t the worst thing.  She bumped Raine with her waist, and they chuckled.
“So I was thinking of a more permanent way of telling Hunter that this is his home.  I was thinking-“
“Adopting him?  Officially?”
Eda turned to Raine, eyes going wide and mouth hanging open for a second.  “How did you know?”
“I was thinking about it myself.  I know that he will need a proper last name for when he enrolls in Hexside and I don’t think he would want to go with Wittlebane.”
“No one wants to go with that crappy name,” Eda responded, sticking her tongue out.  “So later I’ll head to town to get the paperwork.  Will you stay here with Hunter to make sure he doesn’t try to clean the whole house?”
“Of course.  There is something I wanted to test with him anyway.  I found something that use to belong to him in the archives and I wanted to return it.  A guitar he used to play.”
“Ooooh?  Blondie wanted to be a bard?”
“When he was younger he came to me with lots of curious questions about Bard magic.  I of course indulged him, showed him the basics and while he couldn’t do magic, he showed some considerable potential.”  Raine paused in drying a plate and sighed.  “Kikimora over heard his playing and told Belos, and Belos had the guitar confiscated.  I thought for sure it had been destroyed but Darius found it.”
“Do you think he can do real magic now?”
“I think it’s a possibility but even if he can’t, playing his old guitar could be therapeutic.  I know playing helped me.”
Eda gave them a kiss and helped finished the dishes before she headed out.  She took King with her and left to head to town.  When she explained to the small Titan what she was up to he responded it was about time.  The trip was uneventful, Bonesborough having returned to a semblance of normal three months after the fall of Belos and his Empire.  She picked up some more ingredients for the anti-anxiety potion, picked up some more elixir and then headed off to get the paper work for the official adoption.  She ran into Luz and her group while she leaving and after a quick conversation Luz headed back with her.  The kids would be over later to hang out in a more casual setting with Hunter after his panic attack.  A slumber party, like the one a few months ago.
When they reached the house, Eda could hear music playing softly the open door and the unmistakable golden glow of magic from one of the windows.  She pressed her finger over her lips and the three of them slowly and carefully walked into the house.  Hooty was already listening to soft sounds of the guitar so it was easy to slip by him.  When they reached the living room Eda paused in wonder.
Hunter was playing a brilliant yellow and white electric guitar in the middle of the living room, Raine sitting on the couch with Flapjack on their shoulder.  The tune Blondie played was cheerful sounding, a bouncy beat coming from the instrument.  It wasn’t a complex melody but it sounded good.  Around the young witchlet was a small field of magic, lifting up the few scattered slips of papers that always littered the living room after Luz studied.  Hunter’s eyes were focused on the strings of the guitar with intensity, so he hadn’t seen the field.  Speaking of Luz Eda turned and saw her recording the scene with her human scroll, eyes wide.  When he stopped playing everyone clapped.  Hunter nearly dropped the guitar then and there, head whipping around in alarm and ears going red when he saw Luz.
“Give me that!”  Blondie snarled, putting the guitar down before marching over to her.  His hand made it’s way towards the scroll even as Luz fought against him.  She held it out of his way.
“No no no!  Hunter!  You have to- stop you have to watch this!”
Luz turned the scroll so Hunter could see the screen and played him the video she recorded.  For a moment Hunter just stared at her, amber eyes narrowed in frustration before he looked at the screen.  His eyes went wide and his mouth hung open.
“I did that,” he questioned and everyone nodded.  “I did…”
“Magic!  Actual magic!”  Luz grabbed his arm and laughed, big brown eyes wide.  If she was jealous of him she made no show of it.  “You did actual Bard Magic!”
“How?  I know the Healers said I had a bile sac but I can’t do magic.  I’m a magicless witch.”
“You know that isn’t true now, and for a novice that was a large field,” Raine said as they got up and walked over.  Hunter watched the video one more time before Luz put her scroll away.  “You did study a lot of magical theory in the Emperor’s Coven right?  It makes sense now that you have access to magic it would come easier to you.”
“Do you think you could do other magic?  Oh oh oh!  Try something for me!”  Luz was bouncing up and down, eyes sparkling.  Hunter stared at her still apparently unable to form words.  “Picture the light glyph in your mind and try casting a circle!”
Hunter looked at Luz like she had grown a second head but after taking a breath he shrugged.  He lifted his left hand into the air, face a mix of disbelief and annoyance, and did as she asked.  When a golden ring of light appeared in the air followed by it turning into a ball of golden light, he just stared at it.  Luz gave a sound of joy and shook him again by the shoulders.  Eda clapped her hands together and he looked up at her as he cupped the ball of light.
“I knew you were capable of casting magic.  You just had to try.”  Eda smiled brightly at Hunter and they all walked to the couch.  She noticed with relief that he had less bandages then before on his hand.  The healing potions were doing their job.  “Do you feel any different knowing that you can cast?”
Hunter sat down after making the little ball of light vanish, eyes narrowing.  He picked at the few bandages on his hands.  “I don’t know.”
“This is great!”  Luz jumped over to the couch and sat down beside him.  “Now my big brother can come to Hexside with me?”
Eda noticed Hunter look at her with those same wide eyes from before, tilting his head.  “Big brother?”
Luz bumped into him with her shoulders.  “After everything we’ve been through, all the battles and even sharing blood now, we’re family.”
“And I think we should make that official, if you want to.”  Eda pulled out the paperwork she had gotten from the temporary government office and handed it over to Hunter.
His eyes flickered from Luz to hers before settling on the paper.  Eda watched him read the paper before his face went slack and she saw the paper begin to shake.  Tears gathered at the corners of his eyes and his mouth worked though no sound came out at first.  When he finally spoke his voice was tight.
“Is this real?”
“Of course it is.  I think this was a long time coming to be honest.  No pressure though.  If you don’t want to accept it I can always just throw it away and-“
“No!  No I do want this.  I just-“  Hunter’s breath caught in his throat and the tears began to fall.  Luz took the papers out of his hands as he buried his face in one of the pillows he put on the couch.  Raine rubbed his back while he cried.  Eda had expected a reaction like this.  For being so stoic most of the time (or attempting to be) Hunter was truly just a kid with a soft heart.  She sat down on the coffee table by him and squeezed his shoulder.
“Just get it all out kiddo,” Eda said softly, letting him go.  Luz was hugging him and she heard his sobs starting to calm down.  King watched the whole scene with Flapjack on his head, eyes wide.  It took minutes before he started to calm down fully but Eda didn’t mind. He didn’t get up right away.
“Sorry this pillow is gross now,” Hunter muttered before he sat up.  Eda dug out a box of tissues and handed them to him.  He began to wipe up his face quickly, flashing her an appreciative look.
“Nah, its fine.  Nothing that we can’t clean off.”
“Yeah let it all out bro,” Luz said and he shot her a sharp look that quickly softened.  “No shame here.”
“I just-“  Hunter took a shuddering breath and ran a hand over his face while he gathered himself.  He placed his hands in his lap again, fidgeting with his fingers.  “I know Caleb said I was a Clawthorne but I didn’t want to presume.”
“You are a Clawthorne, and we can make it official now.”  She handed him the paper and pen, and Hunter looked at the papers with his eye brows raised.  He placed them down on the coffee table and leaned over, taking the pen.  He signed his name after a few seconds then looked up at Eda.
“You know I won’t call you Mom right?”
“Give it time, you might change your mind.”
The look Hunter gave Eda as she took the paperwork back was enough to make her laugh.  Raine grinned themselves, leaning down to look Hunter in the eye.  “Now little Robin, you never know how the night will change.”
“I haven’t heard that nickname in a long time…”
“Enough mopping around,” Luz declared and jumped off the couch.  “We got to get the house ready for a slumber party!”
“What?” Hunter climbed to his feet and crossed his arm.  “Luz what did I say-“
“Later!  You said later!  And don’t worry it won’t be anything that big.  There was a new movie I thought you might like to watch.  Cosmic-“
“Wait there is a new Cosmic Frontier movie out?”  Hunter grabbed a hold of the front of Luz’s shirt, amber eyes shining.   “We have to watch it.  Right now.”
“Later!  We have to get ready for the party first! Hunter let me go!”
“No I want to watch the movie right this second.  Luz-“
Eda watched Luz run off, Hunter hot on her heels as King gave battle call and chased after the two of them.  She chuckled and leaned against Raine.  “This house is never going to be quiet again.”
“Just the way you like it.  Don’t give me that look, its the truth.”
“Hm.  Sure is Rainstorm.”

WIP:
“You have a bat themed computer?! This is somehow worse than my dad naming everything after our family.” “Wait, does he actually do that?” “Yeah, dude. We have the Fenton Bazooka, the Fenton Boo-merang, the Fenton Family Ghost Assault Vehicle, the Fenton Phones, Fenton Rocket, Fenton Skateboard…” “Wait, wait. You own an assault vehicle? A rocket?” “What? You're saying it as if you don't.” “Yeah, but my… He is Batman. Not exactly the poster boy for sanity, you know?” “Well, look at the bright side! You don't have to feel awkward about it anymore. If anyone gets it, it's me.” Jason smiled, a bit dizzy, and guided him. Jason had never brought anyone to the cave before. It felt oddly heavy in his chest. He had to resist the urge to keep turning around to check on Danny. He felt a bit like Orpheus in a way.

eighteen.
warning; 💍💍💍💍 1.4k words.
masterlist.
the glass in your hand also meets its fate on the ground, its content spilling all over the carpet but you’ll worry about that later because right now, sunghoon’s lips were on yours, kissing you like you had hoped for...
the man kisses you with urgency, his hands already on your waist, pinning you down against the couch. your mind is spinning so fast, you feel so nervous. everything is happening so fast. his hands are already under your sweater, grasping onto your bare skin... but you as much as you want to melt into his hold, you just can’t. not when you-
“oh my god- did i really pass out in the middle of the kiss?!”
everything came back to you, every single detail of the moments leading up to you passing out on the couch the previous night. what started out as the kiss you had waited all night for ended all in about two seconds.
sigh.
sitting up, you find yourself still on the couch, by yourself. it’s oddly quiet around the house, as if no one else was here, no traces of your step brother at all. but you’re thankful, thankful that  you didn’t need to face him after having yet another heated make out session.
you wonder how he’ll be like this time round, hopefully not a dickhead like the last time you both kissed.
after washing up, you’re startled by the sound of doorbell. you ponder for a minute, contemplating on whether it was right for you to answer the door or not. but curiosity has always been a problem of yours because before you knew it, you were at the front door, facing mr lee, mr park’s personal assistant.
it doesn’t even surprise you anymore that mr park had found you yet again.
“good morning miss,” the man slightly bows his head and hands over a phone, the word chairman printed across the screen, “the chairman would like to speak to you.”
his words has you frozen in place, anxiety immediately overtaking your body at the thought of mr park punishing you and sunghoon after your runaway stunt last night. if he could abuse his son so easily, there’s just no telling what he would do to you. a nobody.
“he- hello mr park?”
“i’m going to make this quick. if you don’t want to cause any trouble for sunghoon and your mother, i advise that you show up to lunch today with the chois,” his tone of voice alone is enough to give you shivers, the emphasis on every single word keeps you on your toes, “i think you are smart enough to know exactly what i mean, darling.”
he wasn’t giving you a choice anymore. bringing your mother into the equation meant that he was done with you, that this was your last chance. it had you questioning whether the man even loved her, what his true intentions were by marrying her if he could so easily use her like this.
“ye- yes sir. i’ll be there.”
as cryptic as he was being, you could’ve easily guessed what he meant by trouble. financial related, banishment, will involvement. perhaps all of the above. the last thing you wanted was to cause any harm for either your mum or sunghoon.
after hanging up, you watch mr lee disappear into his car, just as a taxi coincidently pulls up to the house with sunghoon getting out. the look on his face is one of displeasure, obviously having seen his father’s assistant.
“what did mr lee say to you?” he asks you the moment he reaches the front door, the man now standing way too close to you.
“i need to get back and change. we have lunch with the chois in two hours.”
“my dad sent him here to tell you that?”
“that’s not the problem sunghoon, we don’t have much time left,” you’re unknowingly trying to avoid eye contact, his gaze making you feel even smaller than you already were in front of him. you don’t want to lie to him but you don’t have a choice at this point, not after mr park’s threat. “if- if you don’t want to go, at least call me a taxi back to the house. i need to get ready.”
you fully expect an incoming snarky comment, perhaps calling you dumb or whatnot but the man doesn’t say a thing. instead, he’s staring down at you with a blank expression, his face completely unreadable.
“call it yourself,” his words confused you at first, until you see him reaching into the little shopping bag, fishing out a phone that eerily looked like yours. the one he smashed on the ground weeks ago.
“is this... my phone? you had it with you?” you take hold of it, baffled that sunghoon had kept it with him this whole time, “you got it fixed?”
“yeah,” is all he says before walking past you into the house but the one word was enough for you to understand. his soft tone and the sigh that follows is one you’d describe as deflated and dare you say, defeated.

“you are truly as beautiful as they all say you are, our beomgyu is a lucky man,” mrs choi smiles at you from across the table. she had been complimenting you from the very moment you walked into the private room, where everyone was already seated and waiting for you. if you had a choice, you wouldn’t have came late but traffic wasn’t being so kind to you today.
the entire lunch was nothing short of nerve wracking for you to say the least, your fingers constantly clutching onto the poor table cloth that you were so sure was going to rip. thankfully you didn’t need to speak much.
“thank you mrs choi, you’re really too kind.”
“please. call me mum, you’ll be my daughter in less than three months.”
“speaking of which,” beomgyu interrupts his mother and gets up from his seat, his hand reaching into his pocket.
it’s happening. the moment you had dreaded was finally here.
“i was going to do this later when we’re alone but with everyone here now, i’d like to take the time to ask you,” he pulls you to stand, an opened ring box in his hand. the diamond jewel is blinding to say the least, almost as blinding as the grin on his face as he turns to mr park before focusing back on you, “marry me?”
you pause for a moment, eyes also going to mr park who was watching like a hawk, a threatening smile hanging off his lips. right beside him was your mum who looked so happy for you, so oblivious to the truth behind it all. you just pray that her husband treats her right because that’s all that matters to you.
a defeated sigh leaves your throat at the thought of spending the rest of your life in a loveless marriage with some you barely knew, with someone who doesn’t love you.
with someone you don’t love.
you’ve always been a sucker for cliched love stories, a simple boy meets girl, they fall in love and together, build a loving home and family kind of story. growing up, this was all you wanted, a simple love story.
but all of that was just a blur to you now, a childhood dream you’ll never get to accomplish.
“yes, beomgyu.”
the ends of your fiancé’s lips curves into a grin as he slips the ring onto your finger, sealing your fate and the deal between the choi and park household. that’s what you were really, a business deal to these people.
“congratulations!” mrs choi gets up to hug you, her smile seemingly genuine but you can’t be sure. this was one of the many lessons you’ve learnt since living this life, that you can’t trust any of these people.
“i apologise for being late, i had an urgent meeting to attend to,” a very familiar voice beams from the other side of the room as the doors open up, revealing someone you weren’t expecting to see here at all, “i hope i didn’t miss anything important.”
“work is important, sometimes being late is inevitable. our beomgyu really needs to learn from you, sunghoon,” mr choi’s face lights up to the sight of your step brother, as if the boy was his own son, “luckily you’re just in time, beomgyu just proposed to your sister.”
your eyes meet with sunghoon’s from across the room, a devious smirk immediately on his face once his gaze falls onto your hands in beomgyu’s. particularly, the new sparkle on your ring finger that could be seen from a mile away.
you try to read his expression, try to decipher what the man is really thinking in that moment because the only thing on your mind right now was him.
but it was all too late now. this was your fate after all, a fate without sunghoon in it.
“wouldn’t miss it for the world. congratulations, step sis.”
end.

Whumptober Day 11: Animal trap, Captivity
*thousand yard stare* I have not slept much these past two nights and we’re getting to the abundance of days where I don’t have anything planned. At all.
...it’ll be fine!!!
Read on ao3
Warnings: blood & injury, note the prompts accordingly.
————————————————————
Wild was feeling pretty stupid right about now.
Or at least, he would have been, but he was a bit more preoccupied with the fact that his leg was trapped in the jaws of a metal trap, hurting more by the second, and also the fact that he’d been captured by monsters.
He let out a hiss through his teeth as his leg was jostled, hoping really, really hard that the metal wasn’t penetrating as deeply through his skin as it felt.
Of all the moronic ways to get captured...
He’d literally just been out in the woods trying to hunt some meat down for their food supplies, right out of shouting range from camp. A meaty looking boar had crossed his pat, and Wild had given chase when it bolted, getting further and further away from camp. He was right on the heels of the boar, and was just about to take out his bow when it happened.
One moment he’d been running through a pile of leaves, the next he’d fallen to the ground with a cry, pain searing into his leg, and he realized he’d walked right into an old hunter’s trap. Which was still very much operational.
Wild had only just begun to try and get it off, blood making his fingers slip, when there was a snapping of branches, and all of a sudden he was surrounded by a bunch of monsters he didn’t even recognize. He managed to fight off a few, but they soon took advantage of the fact that he couldn’t move, and captured him.
And now I’m going to miss lunch, Wild sighed to himself.
The arms pulling him along were suddenly removed, and Wild yelped as he put weight on his foot and fell to the ground, the pain he’d been trying to ignore now back in full force. He raised his head and looked around, and felt a flicker of worry at the cave he’d been brought to, flickering torchlight making it difficult to see.
But he could make out the dozens of glittering eyes all staring at him in the murk.
A monster dragged him to his feet again, and Wild couldn’t help but yell as the trap around his ankle was shaken. A few hissing laughs went up, and something suddenly pulled on the trap, sending the jaws deeper.
Wild cried out and tried to kick away whatever had grabbed him with his good leg, but nothing connected, and stars burst into his vision as the metal was tugged at again.
“Stop, I want him able to speak,” a voice hissed, and Wild was dropped to the ground again, panting against the pain in his leg. His head was abruptly yanked up by his hair, and he found himself looking into the face of an ugly lizard-like thing, beady eyes narrowed.
A face only a mother could love, he thought, curling up his nose at its rancid breath. Wait, do monsters even have mothers? Or... wait, is Ganon their mother? Er, Father? How does that work?
“You have the smell of the Vessel on you,” the lizard-thing hissed, its tongue flicking out, and Wild quickly checked back into the conversation. “Where is the one who’s blood can revive our Master?”
Wild blinked, and gave the lizard the most unimpressed look he could manage with the steel trap still around his leg.
“You’re gonna have to be more specific than that,” he scoffed. He honestly had no clue what they were talking about, but even if he had... feigning ignorance had gotten him out of more than one tight spot.
“The Vessel,” a different monster spoke up, more croaky then the first. “He travels with you, I have seen him.”
Wild frowned. So one of us, then. “That’s not really helpful.”
The lizard-thing let out a frustrated snarl, and grabbed his face, claws digging in to his skin.
“You lie,” it hissed, tail lashing. “You cannot be this stupid.” Can too. “Where is the Hero who’s blood can bring back Ganon?”
Wild froze at the name, mind stalling. One of us’s blood can bring back the calamity?!
He blinked at the monster, and frantically went through all of the heroes in his head, wondering which of them it could be.
Not Twi, he would have said something, and these aren’t his monsters. The old man maybe, but same with him on the monster thing, and Warriors too, I know these aren’t his. Wind would’ve brought it up, Four barely knows who Ganon is, same with Sky, so that leaves...
Hyrule or Legend?
“Look, I’ve never heard of blood bringing back anyone,” Wild said, trying to keep his thoughts off his face. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, so why don’t you just... let me go?”
That made all the monsters laugh, and Wild felt the claws in his chin and hair sink in further.
“Foolish hero. You should have told us what we wanted to know immediately,” a different monster snarled, but the first waved it back when it approached.
“You are not the Vessel, but perhaps you have... other uses,” the first monster said thoughtfully, and Wild felt something cold drop into his stomach. “Take him away until he is willing to talk.”
“But I don’t know anything!” Wild shouted, then cried out as his leg was sharply jostled.
Pain exploded up his leg again, and all he could focus on for a moment was the monsters laughing at him, then the cold scrape of the floor as he was dragged away.
(...)
Wild woke up to a pounding in his head, and agony in his leg.
Sweat trickled down his brow as he dragged his eyes open, and he looked around blearily at the dark cell they’d dropped him into earlier. He didn’t remember falling asleep, but he must have since he was waking up...
There was something crusty on his hands, and he flicked his eyes down at them, catching sight of dried blood on his fingertips.
Oh. Right.
Wild exhaled, his head pounding. He’d been dumped in the part of the cave the monsters had turned into some kind of cell, and immediately started trying to get the trap off his foot again, but his hand had slipped...
His leg throbbed, and Wild groaned. He must have knocked himself out.
...How long had he been in here?
His stomach let out a growl, and Wild closed his eyes again, pain throbbing through his entire body. Why did these things always happen to him? He should have been watching where he was going, should’ve realized there were monsters nearby, shouldn’t have gone off alone.
But no. He’d gone and gotten himself injured and dragged away by monsters who wanted blood or something, and his leg hurt so much he wasn’t even sure he’d be able to escape if he got a chance.
He hoped Hyrule and Legend were staying away at least.
At least if I’m here, it means they haven’t gotten whoever’s blood it is that brings back Ganon.
Wild tried to shift himself a little, and gasped, trying not to be sick at the feel of the metal still crushing his leg. He fell still, and couldn’t hold back a whimper, dried blood making the floor feel even colder under his body.
He just hoped somebody was coming for him.
(...)
When Wild woke up again, it was to monsters prodding him to his feet, a choked gasp escaping his lips as his leg was moved.
Based on the empty feeling in his stomach, he guessed it had been somewhere around a day since they’d first thrown him in, and he shivered, his body trembling with pain and blood loss. The monsters dragged him out of his cell and down through several tunnels, bringing him to the same cave room as earlier.
They propped him up, and Wild watched dizzily as the same lizard-monster from yesterday approached, snout twitching at the smell of his blood.
“Now that you’ve had some time to think, tell us: where is the Vessel?” it hissed.
Wild took a steadying breath, his mind flashing towards Hyrule and Legend, and looked the monster in the eye.
“I have no idea.”
Clawed fingers smacked him across the face, and Wild reeled back, as much as he was able to.
“You do know, you merely refuse to speak,” the monster snarled, and the beasts holding Wild threw him onto his back, Wild just barely holding back a scream as his leg smacked the ground.
The monsters pinned him as he reeled, stretching his limbs out. Once Wild could focus again, he tried to free his arms, able to move those without too much pain, but the monsters grip was tight. A clawed foot suddenly rested on top of his trapped leg, and Wild froze, heart thudding as he watched the monster slowly raise its foot.
Then it slammed it back down on top of it, and Wild’s vision went white.
There was a distant scream in his ears, and Wild eventually focused through the pain enough to realize that it had been his own, his cry petering off into a stuttering sob. His leg felt like it had been nearly sliced in two, and Wild closed his eyes, trembling as another wave of agony crashed over him. Something was trickling down his cheek as he tried not to wail, though he wasn’t sure if it was sweat or tears.
Maybe blood. His face did sting quite a bit.
Something sharp was pressed to his throat, and Wild just barely managed to raise his head, looking at the monster holding the spear to his neck.
“Perhaps our Master would be appeased by the blood of any Hero,” the monster mused, giving him a poke. “And if not... well, at least we’ll have one less obstacle in our way.”
Wild could only watch, shaking and dizzy, as it raised the spear up to run him through.
“NO!”
The spear went flying as a howl rang through the cave, and Wild closed his eyes as there was a bright flash of light. The monsters holding him down suddenly released him, but before Wild could do anything, something kicked his leg.
He screamed again in spite of himself, the agony increasing, lava pouring into his ankle and searing up his entire leg. His mind flashed back to being shot by the guardians, burns ripping across him, tearing him apart.
Something cool gently grabbed his face, but Wild barely realized it, drowning in pain. He wanted it to end, he wanted it to end he wanted it to end—
The cool thing at his face patted his cheek again, trying to get him to open his eyes, and Wild forced them open, colors smearing around above him. They eventually organized themselves into something resembling shapes, green and red and brown.
“Hh...” he stuttered, and the cool hand brushed over his forehead.
“Hold on Champion, we have to get it out. You’ll be okay.”
Wild heard what sounded like a countdown, and then pain, another scream ripped from his throat, things shifting in his leg and hands grabbing and holding him down. Wild thrashed madly to be free of them, giving up on trying to stop the pain and holding still and just wanting to get away.
Something sparkled in his blurred vision, and all of a sudden a soothing feeling began to work through his ankle. It was cool and warm, soft and prickly as it swept through his leg, and Wild abruptly fell limp, still trembling as the pain slowly eased.
“There you go, you’re okay,” the same voice said, and Wild could finally pinpoint it as Twilight’s, a hand brushing through his hair. “Take it easy, Link. We got you.”
Wild forced his eyes open again, looking up at the heads surrounding him.
“W... wanted... b-blood,” he breathed, and the red blur and the green and brown blur exchanged looks.
“We know Wild, it’s okay. We beat all of them, they didn’t get anyone’s blood,” a different voice, Hyrule maybe? said, and Wild closed his eyes again, too drained to reply.
Good.
Somebody gingerly pulled him towards themselves, and Wild stiffened as he was lifted up, then settled onto somebody’s back, multiple hands making sure his leg wasn’t jostled as he was moved.
His head fell onto something soft, and Wild relaxed into it, a faint musk of animals drifting into his nose.
“I’m so sorry this happened Wild,” a voice at his side murmured, wracked with guilt. Wild cracked his eyes open to see Hyrule standing beside him, watching him with a grieved look, and he blinked.
Ah. So that’s who’s blood they’d wanted.
Hyrule opened his mouth again, but then Wild leaned over, just enough to touch their foreheads together. Hyrule stared, and Wild twitched his lips up into a smile.
“Kept you safe,” he breathed.
He felt a hand squeeze his, and then Wild relaxed, letting himself rest as Twilight carried him out of the cave and into the sunshine.

CAMPSIDE PRANKS 1: Wild gets bored Waiting for Legend
Wild had already cooked heart soup, hearty elixirs, hearty simmered fruit, and had at least two dozen stamina elixirs ready to go for the Vet when he finally woke up from his fever.
There was nothing much else for the heroes to do while they waited for the Hero of Legend to recover.
As morning became afternoon, The Champion put away the clean pots and ladles, and sat on a log, bouncing his knees and looking all around the camp. Time and Four polished armor, Warrior and Hyrule hung up laundry. Sky cleaned and polished leather with Twilight. Wind sat in a tree with Aryll’s spyglass, keeping diligent watch for monsters.
This in-between era provided few clues regarding their place in time, and the Vetern’s fever worried them. They’d ruled out black blood right away, and potions had minimal effect on illnesses, and so they resigned themselves to waiting it out. Luckily, his fever broke in the night.
Wild noticed them watching his bouncing knees. He stopped, and caught sight of the river stones in the stream. They were all oblong and somewhat flat. He grinned, and rushed over to them.
Gathering as many as he could carry, he placed on at Legend’s side, just a few feet from the bedroll. He set another just behind it, and tipped the first. It struck the second nad knocked it down. Grinning wider, he set a trail of stones from the Vet’s side toward the edge of camp and around the perimeter.
Twilight and Sky finished polishing, and chuckled, then brought him more stones.
The others soon joined in, Wind giving ideas for a path from his perch.
By the time Legend woke up, grimacing at the bright late-afternoon sun, he found an audience of grinning heroes surrounding him.
He scowled, and rubbed his face, feeling for signs of charcoal or paint.
“Here,” Hyrule took the tea Wild made and crouched beside him. “You’ve been out for three days with a fever, but it broke last night. Here, this will help.”
He sat up and took it gingerly, surprised at the weakness in his own hands.
“What in Din’s name are you all doing over here?” He rasped.
“We, uh, well, have a surprise for you.” Wild stammered.
“Wild got bored,” Twilight laughed. “Made you something.”
“Did he? Should I be excited, or afraid?” The Vet sipped the tea.
“It starts behind you,” Time offered, and Legend turned around.
Legend stared at it, and quirked up one eyebrow.
“Go ahead. Touch it.” Hyrule smiled.
A trail of stones, barely balancing on their narrow edges, wound from his side and all around the camp, between trees and up and down rises and dips in the forest floor, through a dry creek bed nearby, and circling tightly around the camp, spiraling inward until it ended next to where it began.
Legend touched it.
They all watched the trail of rocks topple one after the other.
Legend’s sleepy grin made it all worth it.

WIP Wednesday -- Gang Rejects Wild
or
A mid-TotK Wild reappears before the Chain but the don't believe it's him because of how changed he is.
******
“No! Don’t touch him!” Hyrule cried and jumped away, recoiling as if bitten. “That isn’t Wild!”
“How do you know?” Legend asked.
“He’s—it’s—full of malice, and poes and a strange magic that I don’t understand!” Hyrule said.
“Who are you and what do you want?” Time’s sword leveled at Wild’s throat.
“I’m Wild! Don’t you recognize me?” Wild answered with a betrayed look.
“You take the form of our brother but you aren’t him!” Hyrule accused.
“Guys! It’s me I swear! I’ve just… my adventure hasn’t been treating me well.”
“Show us your true form, Dark Link,” Time said coldly. “You aren’t fooling anyone hiding behind that face.”
“What are you talking about? This is my true form! I’m not Dark Link!” Wild replied vehemently.
“Put your sword down! That’s Wild!” Wind objected pushing Time’s blade away. “Can’t you see that he's hurt or sick or something?”
“Wind! Get back!” Legend dragged him away. “That’s not Wild. That’s only a trick!”

What happens when I have a fic idea:
Tumblr media
Then:
Tumblr media
Eventually I start running in the right direction:
Tumblr media
And finally:
Tumblr media
Before it's too late. Before the moment is gone. Before the vibe left the brain.
My last idea: Dean is dancing and singing in the library, knowing everybody is out somewhere else. At first he is shy and then he goes wild but by then Cas walks in on him and falls in love all over again.

Photo (for the one word prompt)
Used a fic idea i had since i basically joined this fandom but never wrote so i got carried away and wrote 1580 words 0.0
This fic idea came to me when playing totk for the first time when it first came out, i took a photo of the old champions photo and put it in the gallery of my new house
Get ready for some fluff! (From me? I know, shocking!)
Send me a one word writing prompt
"And this room, i actually made with you guys in mind... i didn't have space for full beds but those mattresses are a lot comfier than a sleeping roll. Sometimes i even prefered sleeping in here than in my own bedroom," imagining that i was still with you lot, he left out. Wild turned back to the chain as he finished showing them around his new home. Twilight glanced around, noting something,
"Where is the champions photo? I thought of all things you would want to bring, it would be that?"
Wild tried to hide his upset expression, "well, Zelda kept it... and she is the one with all the real memories of them... so its okay"
He tried not to think about losing the champions photo, but he couldnt help but think it was like loosing them all over again. Still, nothing would come from burdening the chain with his emotions.
---------------------
The next day, while Wild was out running errands, Legend burst into their shared room on the top floor, canvas and paints in his arms, dumping them on the table in the center of the room,
"We're painting him a new one."
"What?"
"You saw how sad he looked when he didn't have the champion's photo; we are repainting him a new one"
Warriors grinned at the vet, "wow, didn't know you were soft, collector."
That earned a glare, "You never know when you could lose someone, sometimes you need something to keep their memory alive, like a song, or a picture."
A few of them nodded in agreement.
"Right, who's doing what?" Time said as they all gathered around the table.
Wind's hand shot up first, "ooh, OOH! I can draw! Let me draw it!"
Legend looked at him, "okay, you do the sketch and i do the painting, BUT im gonna check over the sketch before we're done" ever the perfectionist.
Sky nudged Four, "bet we can make a pretty good frame eh?" Four grinned back and nodded, running off to find somewhere he could start.
Roles were assigned to each member: Four and Sky would work on a frame, Wind would sketch and Legend would paint, Warriors would find Flora and ask to borrow the original photo as reference, Time would also go with him to learn more about the champions, and finally, Hyrule and Twilight, having no artistic skill and being the closest to their cook would distract Wild until the painting was finished. It was a good plan, and they began too work.
---------------------
Legend and Wind sat in the top room all day, Wind was getting frustrated at how the sketch was just not looking right, Legend came to pull the pencil away,
"No you do it like this!" He said, rubbing out a piece of the drawing and sketching it on himself. Wind's eyes widened in understanding, and he grabbed the pencil again, fixing up other similar mistakes. Legend noted that the rito happened to look the best and he had to wonder if that was because it was the only race outside of hylians he had a lot of experience with. Wind noticed the same thing. He almost felt the spirit of the rito looking smug as he pridefully gloated on the others, and Wind giggled.
---------------------
"It's really nice you're doing this for him, i wasn't aware that he would feel upset that i kept the photo. I thought he would come and tell me if something was upsetting him," Flora said as they sat around the table in her own house in Hateno village. Warriors and Time had told Wild that they wanted to speak to her and Wild, being unsuspecting at the two 'leaders' of the group wanting to gather information, called Zelda over with the Purah Pad. She had teleported to them with the old Sheika Slate and Warriors couldn't help but gape at the glowing blue antlers and her purple and blue eyes. Zelda then proceded to take them to her house once they told her they wanted to speak to her in private, much to the displeasure of Wild, who wanted her nearby to make sure she was safe, not that anyone could blame him.
Time smiled at her, "well, hiding one's emotions do seem to come with the hero's spirit"
She nodded uncertainly.
Wars drew the girl's attention, "Can you tell us about the champions? Our friends Sky and Four would like to make a frame and were hoping to make it something special."
---------------------
Wild excitedly showed them around Tarrey town and was pulling Twilight and Hyrule along with him. When wild came running back to the house, Twilight first asked to have help with Epona, but because the house stable was already occupied, they had to go to the nearest stable. Hyrule also tagged along, hoping to use up time exploring once Wild's attention would eventually shift from horses to something else. Twilight was currently just following behind them, trying to catch up to the duo and making sure they didn't get hurt.
Wild had decided that it was a good idea to dive off the side of the town and into the water to reach the construction grounds. Twilight tried to stop him but the champion, as slippery as he is, got past him, already with his shirt off and shouting as he went down, followed by a massive splash that almost reached up to them. Twilight sighed and turned around, only to see Hyrule missing from his side. The traveler's laughter joined Wild's own as he knelt on the moving tracks platform and waved at him, Wild waving back as he swam to shore. Twilight sighed harder but smiled, at least his brother seemed in a better mood.
---------------------
Sky hummed to the rythm of Four's hammer hitting metal. The skyloftian had decided to join the smithy in the forge to spend time with him. The carving in his hands would theoretically slot into what four was making, the metal to hold the canvas in place and the wood for the details. Sky used what Warriors and the old man had relayed to them from Flora to create intricate markings which he hoped represented the champions. Four hammered away, joining his humming with his own layer to the tune until he stopped hammering and looked at his work, "how does that look?" He asked, sky stood up, halfing his unfinished piece nearby and comparing the two, looking at the but where the two would slide in together, "it looks great!"
---------------------
Hyrule excitedly dragged Wild to the top room by his arms. When the champion saw everyone in the room he looked confused, waiting for an answer. "We made something for you" Wind said, ushering him to the table.
Wild walked up to the table to see a canvas resting on it, one with a very familiar image. His breath hitched in his throat as he silently.
It was almost identical to the original image, the champions photo, but newer. Everone in the image looked perfect, careful strokes of paint marking out their individual features. Wild sniffled as he inspected the frame. Wood and metal worked into eachother. The metal sides of the frame had the words "champions ballad" indented in his hylian. The wooden sides had carvings, depicting the four regions the champions came from, it also had things which he knew the champions loved from his scattered memories. There were indentations of more things, and Wild wondered where they got this information from. The frame was detailed, he could also see where the wood and metal intertwined with one another. There were no carvings of the divine beasts, Wild noticed suddenly, no marks of duty; just six friends, together and happy.
Wild worlessly looked up at his traveling companions, and only now noticed the river of tears running down his face.
Twilight stepped forwards, offering Wild a tissue, "legend was the one who suggested we do this because we saw how sad you were about not having the original. He and Wind sketched and painted it. Wars and Time got the original image from Flora and learned about the champions for the details on the frame, which Sky and Four both made. Hyrule and I were distracting you so it could be a surprise"
Wild sniffed, happy tears overflowing him, "th-thank you guys, it really means a lot" his voice cracked, "i-um... can we take a new one? With all of us? If you dont mind" he stuttered.
---------------------
Flora held the Purah Pad, looking through the lens. She called out, telling everyone to move around and making sure they were in shot, "Time, move down, yeah like Warriors, you might not be that tall but you are still out of shot" laugheter errupted out of the others, the old man deadpanned before his face returned to his smile. Flora decided to take advantage of everyone's laughing faces, "Ready?" She giggled, borrowing Purah's iconic phrase "Click-" Twilight grinned mischieviously, "-snap!" And pulled everyone in suddenly with his strong arms.
The image was put up next to the champions painting on the top floor where they all slept. Wild took a step back, smiling softly. Everyone had a mixture of shocked and laughing faces, Wild himself, in the middle with a beaming smile and a tear running down his cheek...

The Verse of Change
My next TOH fanfic is going to be a wild ride I think.  I already have to rework a lot.  But I hope its going to make me feel better writing it.  Especially after the ending of the show.
Tower to the Stars will still be my cooldown project though.

“Finally, some peace and quiet.”
The past few weeks had been filled with monsters and mayhem, the Shadow having kept all of you on your toes, forcing you all together in tight proximity, preferring to sleep in encampments rather than in villages for fear of what destruction might be brought on them if you all had. But thankfully, it seemed that the Shadow was laying low for a bit, recovering from the groups last encounter.
So the group decided to take a rest as well, finding a decent inn to stay in. You shared a room with Time, considering he was one of the least rambunctious ones when it came to sleep, but also because you were a pair and you wanted to take any moment you could to just be close to him without all of the interruptions that seemed to come with the others.
Time smiled warmly as he turned to you, wrapping his arm around your waist, drawing you in closer to him.
“Finally we get a moment to ourselves.” You chuckled, placing your hands on his chest plate.
“And what would you like to do with this moment?” He asked
“Honestly, I’d like a kiss without the sound of Wind screeching ‘eeewww’ in the background.” You replied.
Time chuckled at statement, the memory coming back to him as he cupped your cheek in his hand, gazing into your eyes. “Well if that’s what you want, I’d be more than happy to indulge.”
For all of Times intimidating nature, he was much different in moments like this. His touches and caresses were gentle, lips soft against yours, kisses sweeter than honey. It felt as if the two of you were frozen for a moment as your relished in being able to share it with him, but it quickly passed by when you heard the sound of the bedroom door opening, causing you to pull away and see both Legend and Warriors standing there. You scowled at them, annoyed with their interruption.
“Do you two ever knock?” You asked
“I would have but it’s a bit of an emergency. Do either of you have 500 extra rupees separate or combined?” Legend asked
Time cocked his eyebrow at him. “Why do you need 500 rupees?”
“Wild lost a bet and is now sitting in the town prison.” Warriors replied
“Wait what?! I thought you were suppose to be watching him.” You stated
“We were - we watched him do it, but granted, we weren’t expecting him to get tossed in jail.” Legend replied
You shook your head in response, mumbling to yourself. “Oh Hylia, give me patience because if you give me strength I may strangle someone.”
Time chuckled at your muttering, having heard it clearly. He kissed your cheek. “Save your strangling strength for the Shadow, my dear. We have a hero to break out of jail.”

Ring, a small bell tinkled, signaling the entrance of someone into the bar.
“We’re closed,” Lance called from behind the bar, rubbing it down with a cloth. Cream-colored towel smoothed alcohol stains off of the deep mahogany, and Lance stepped back for a moment to take a break and admire his work.
“Do I not get an exception?” a thick western accent drawled. Lance’s head snapped up, eyes wide.
“Keith,” he murmured. There he stood, just in front of the door, his whole outfit white and black save for his red boots. Lance loved those. They were proof that Keith could be sentimental, if anything.
“You shouldn’t be here,” Lance said into the silence. He couldn’t help but notice the contrast between his accent and Keith’s, the irony of him telling Keith to leave. “It’s not safe, Red.”
“Pfft.” Keith sidled up to the bar, a dangerous gleam in his deep purple eyes. Lance shuddered. “Since when has danger ever stopped me… or you, apparently?”
Lance froze, halfway turned to clean up the back wall. “Sorry, what do you mean?”
Keith reached over the bar to grab himself a bottle of whiskey and poured himself a glass, staring at it and swirling it under his palm, gaze now turned down to the drink instead of Lance.
“What would the people of this sweet ol’ town say if they knew that their kindly bartender was not just hangin’ round with the fearsome outlaw Red, but was an outlaw himself?” Keith quickly looked up to see Lance, expression flint, waiting for the other foot to drop. “Ain’t that right, Blueshot?”
BANG.
Keith stumbled back, hands scrabbling for purchase in his coats, but Lance hopped over the bar in a smooth motion and grabbed his collar. He quickly shoved Keith back to the wall, pressing his back to the dark blue paint. Keith’s hands came up.
“That,” Lance hissed, pointing to the hole in the wall next to Keith’s head. “Was a warning shot, got that? I’m living a fine life right now, alright sweet cheeks? Don’t need anyone screwin’ that up for me. We clear?”
They were barely an inch apart. Lance’s measures breath mingled with Keith’s fast panting, but despite Keith’s obvious distress Lance stayed stock still. Keith’s eyes snapped to the pearl-handled revolver in Lance’s left hand.
He’d shot that with his left hand.
“Fuck, fuck,” Keith huffed. “Yeah. We clear, Blue, just get off, Jesus Christ.”
Lance just hummed, looking down at Keith with an expression he’d never seen on the previously peaceful bartender.
“I dunno,” he purred. “I kind of like you like this.”
Keith’s jaw dropped, failing to form a coherent word.
After a far-too-long (short?) pause, Lance pushed away from him. The gun vanished somewhere at his side. Keith came away from the wall, collecting himself.
“So now what?” Keith demanded, rubbing at his collar.
“Now,” Lance said easily, rolling up his sleeves to clean up more. “Maybe I’ll let you come back if you keep it a goddamn secret. And maybe I’ll see you around more now that we got somethin’ in common. That is, if you don’t get caught.”
Keith looked down to his forearm. A blazing symbol was on his skin, right below his elbow, a… V, just like his own but in blue.
“Alright.”
“Now get out of the bar, Kogane.”

see, any type of vaguely canon lokius feels inherently impossible to me, but we live in a post-korrasami/post-destiel world so who am I to doubt
