I'm tired of drawing giraffes, but fortunately, I only have one more left to finish. After that, I'm excited to move on to drawing the Okapi, and once the family will be complete. Awesome!
Angolan Giraffe
The Angolan Giraffe, also known as the Namibian Giraffe, is native to southern Africa, specifically Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Angola. These giraffes have a unique coat pattern with irregular rusty brown patches on a whitish or light beige skin. Males have a distinctive bulk in the forefront.
There have been studies suggesting that the two surviving populations, one in the north and one in the south, may be different subspecies, but this conclusion has not yet been universally accepted within the scientific community. The distinction between giraffe species and subspecies as a whole is not yet fully clear. _______________________________________ Credits: Angolan Giraffe Photo Credits: Zdeněk Hašek ________________________________________ Thank you for your support. John Ndevasia Muafangejo (1943 - 1987) was a Namibian artist who became known as a maker of beautiful woodcut prints.Muafangejo came from the people of Kwanyama (Kuanjama), who inhabit the northern parts of Ovamboland. As a child, he tended cattle barefoot.
1955 his father died, leaving his mother, who was one of eight wives, with no assets. His mother converted to Christianity and moved in 1956 to the Anglican mission station in Epinga which lay south of the border in Namibia. In 1957 John followed her there and attended the local missionary school.

Proposing an aroace symbol animal - Amphipteres
Both the aromantic and asexual spectrums have symbols to identify with but I don't really see any specific aroace/acearo symbols. Hence I had the idea to search for one. I took the approach to combine aromanticism and asexuality together to create something new that still displays a strong connection to the individual labels
Aro
Snakes (not official symbol but definitely should)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beautiful, pretty cool, exsit in all shapes & sizes and nearly everywhere in the world = there are a ton of families and species. Colorful and diverse, like the arospec!
They're a great alternative for people who can't connect with frogs, too + frogs are also widespread symbols for non-binary and bisexuality (?) which kinda contradicts the point of having an unique symbol animal. I'm not shitting on frogs I just don't get their appeal, I'm sorry (*﹏*;)
Griffins/Griffons/Gryphons
Tumblr media
The mythical creature representing aromanticism. Cute, fierce, magical, very epic, who wouldn't wanna fly on such a creature? 11/10 awesome, unique symbol ✨
+
Ace
Dragons
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only official animal aces have and it's a mythical creature, too!
Dragons exist in all shapes and sizes and have many different types of magic powers (most used is breathing fire). The typical western dragon is four-legged with a pair of wings on the back but there is a multitude of different dragons in mythology from all over the world!

Aroace

A snake with feather or dragon-like skin wings, it's up to interpretation! Amphipteres and winged snakes are found in mythology and folklore from many places in the world, e.g namibian flying snake, arabian flying snakes, european heraldry etc.
It's up to interpretation if one sees Amphipteres as snakes with wings or some kind of subcategory or family of dragons.
So, yeah, Amphipteres are an aroace symbol now for my personally. Since being aroace for me is a combined identity. For people who identify as aroace as an own, individual identity Amphipteres may not sound too appealing, I'm sorry (;^ω^)

Proklaim Has Outdone Himself Again - Listen to 'Scars' MY. GOD. Proklaim just dropped his latest single "Scars" and it is an ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE! This Namibian lyrical genius has outdone himself yet again. Right from the haunting piano intro, you know you're in for an emotional ride. Proklaim's velvet vocals glide over the melancholic melody, immediately pulling you into his intimate world of vulnerability and self-reflection. The lyrics hit like a semi-truck: "Your secret's safe with me" - goddamn, I felt that deep in my soul. As the beat builds with those atmospheric synths and knocking drums, Proklaim switches into his trademark rap flow and the introspective bars start raining down. His lyrical dexterity is out of this world as he seamlessly blends sung melodies with rapid-fire rhyme schemes. The way he poetically explores embracing your scars and inner demons is nothing short of profound. https://www.musicarenagh.com/proklaim-goes-hard-on-valley/ The production is an audio feast too! Those rich piano refrains intertwine perfectly with the head-nodding hip-hop groove. Each element from the weeping guitars to the stuttering vocal samples creates this lush, cinematic backdrop for Proklaim's words to just soak into your psyche. I'm talking full body chills the entire runtime. "Scars" hits that sweet spot of being vibey and introspective, but still packing enough energy to keep you locked in. Proklaim's versatility to blend genres from neo-soul to rap is so incredibly impressive. Thematically, this track is a massive triumph. The lyrics confront pain, growth, and radical self-acceptance in a way that feels universal yet still viscerally personal to Proklaim's story. It's the kind of song that makes you yudipose at the truth-bombs he's dropping. Musically, lyrically, emotionally - "Scars" is a 10 out of 10 tour-de-force from an artist operating at the peak of his powers. Mark my words, this song is going to be a seminal part of Proklaim's iconic catalog. The hip-hop world better pay attention because this man is truly one of the greats. I'm still speechless, what an incredible song! Taps to the infinity for "Scars"! Charcoal on stone
Visual: The Apollo 11 Stones, while simple, show an image of some kind of animal, possibly a goat. The stones are two different colors, but they are both shades of orange. The animal is black. The left stone, which is lighter in color, has the first half of the goat, with a large head and two front legs. Very faintly, however, you can see two long horns coming from the goat’s head. On the right stone, which is more of an orange color, is the second half of the goat. Shown here are two legs, with feet,  a small tail, and a reproductive organ.
Context: In 1969, Apollo 11, the first mission to the moon, was launched and was successful. At that same time, the archaeologists working on the Huns Mountains found out that the first moon landing was successful. The cave that they were working in was named after it, and the left Apollo 11 Stone was found soon after. These stones mark the first instance of human expression in art. While the creature that is represented on the stones is up for debate, it is most likely a kind of mountain goat or ibex, which live in Namibia and in the Huns Mountains. However, on the right stone, is the reproductive organ of a bovine, possibly hinting at a mythological creature, which can mean that even the ancient Namibians had religious beliefs.
