Something I recently realized and I'm trying to internalize is that a dog doesn't have to be perfect to go out in public (I'm talking pet friendly stores). It's okay for a dog to be in training, as long as they're friendly and not nonstop disruptive.

Two days ago, in the parking lot, Elliot whined at a service dog (because he couldn't greet said dog) and I thought to myself "that's it, I can't take him in public anymore".

It's a whine, it's not constant, it's not aggression, it's not stress or anxiety.

It's okay for things to be in progress and it's okay for dogs to be dogs.

You can't start practicing with your dog at perfection, because that doesn't exist.
