something about making cantaloupes into can-elopes
ffxivwrite2023 #03: union (free day)
a marriage.
Lunya & Kotone/H'lios. Post-Endwalker. 486wc.
⮞ You kind of think she'd stop being surprised by anything after ten years of adventuring and saving the world from cosmic threats. Not true.
"You're what," repeated Lunya, punctuated by the sharp clink of porcelain against the island counter. It was less of a question and more of a raw disbelief sort of thing.
"Married," Kotone said plainly across from her. She took a sip of her tea with a confidence H'lios both wished he had and was insanely proud of her for: the years had tempered his wife (and what a word that was! Wife!) from the meek sparrow who first arrived on their shores nine years past without a known word of Eorzean Common or any hope of returning home, but she also had the unique privilege of being one of Lunya's favourite people as well as younger than her, so there wasn't much to worry about in regards to her safety, but Lunya immediately swivelled to him with a deadly expression that screamed "H'lios Tia, what have you done?"
He thought she might tear into him like she had with her poor brother when Einar came around last moon and nervously announced his girlfriend was pregnant and he was going to raise the child on his own. Said girlfriend was Y'shtola Rhul's younger sister, so he'd gotten blasted for it twice by a second equally terrifying woman. Lunya certainly looked like she had something to say, but he spoke up first.
"After everything—the Final Days and then Ultima Thule…" And instantly, the fight drained out of Lunya, soft understanding in her eyes. "We decided there was no sense in waiting for the perfect moment. We didn't even plan anything, just got up one morning and decided we had to get married by noon."
Lunya's tense shoulders could only fall with an exasperated but fond sigh.
"I'm not really mad," she told them, reaching out and placing her small hand over Kotone's own. "I'd be a hypocrite if I was. Congratulations, Kotone, Lios—may your union be blessed, healthy, and happy." After a moment she reached out and smacked the top of H'lios's own hand on the table between them. He yelped, drawing it back. "I'm not making you have a 'proper' second wedding like me but I AM getting you a gift and we're having a celebratory dinner with the whole crew. No ifs, ands, or buts!"
Kotone giggled and H'lios had to hold back a swoon at the sound. Not that he was embarrassed about being obsessed with this woman, but they had another announcement to make and it was for the best if he saved any means of pacifying their friend until it was over with. His wife glanced at him from the corner of her eye and he nodded.
"Also… Lunya, er…" Here, with none of her previous confidence, Kotone rested a hand on her still-slender stomach with a sheepish smile. Lunya's eyes nearly bulged out of her head. "We're expecting..?"
The Lavender Beds had never been subjected to such levels of noise.
"You're WHAT?"

Guys, just hear me out: NBMC
I don't really know how their route would differ other than:
The UI is purple rather than blue or pink.
Every character of similar age is romanceable regardless of gender (this should be in every Persona game by default but whatever).
New battle theme, I guess?
New Orpheus design 👇

Sketch Dump - Wildcard Kawakami AU early designs 1/2
I've had this idea for years but only recently picked it up again lol. I wanted to sketch out something self-indulgent so, I did some prelim designs for these *nerds*
The au is self-explanatory! It's a role swap + arcana swap with the adult confidants as phantom thieves and Kawakami as the wildcard
From left-right: Kawakami, Maruki, Chihaya, and Sae. Guess who their roles are swapped with ;]
I'll give you a hint: one of them represents two phantom thieves at once and another is the navigator
