a bottom-tier autistic experience is being told throughout your entire childhood that you are just an overthinker when it comes to social situations and later finding out that your friends did, in fact, hate being around you and tried to communicate that through weird little hints

The bust of a middle aged man made out of butter was sitting on my bathroom counter. It turned and began to scream at me, but the scream was utterly silent. Everything was so silent. I was so frightened of the butter bust.

i love graffiti. "comics and jazz are the only american art forms" you forgot graffiti. did you remember graffiti? That art form birthed in Philly and NYC in the early 70s by poor Black kids. that art form that spread all over the world and influenced so many. that's used without irony in commercials when they're trying to appeal to a "young urban" customer.
did you forget graffiti? that racism broken windows theory victim? that reach the establishment takes claiming that it's exclusively violent gang members throwing up those full-color pieces and wildstyle tags in the middle of the night outsmarting fifty security cameras because the billboard was ugly anyway. as if, even if it was, it wouldn't be impressive as all hell. risking brutality and fall damage so your art can occupy the space a gentrified condo named something like "Coluumna" took away from you. proving that despite only assholes affording to live here anymore there's still a soul beneath it. an animal with dripping stripes and teeth that go clack-clack tsssss

also the way that the nimona movie showed that hate is a taught behavior?? the way that gloreth, the hero worshipped for slaying monsters, was fully accepting of nimona until her mother told her what to believe? until that generational bigotry was passed down? the way the director’s motive wasn’t even power like most evil government figureheads in media, but rather a fear of monsters destroying the kingdom because that hate had been instilled in her too, like it had in gloreth? the way ballister was also indoctrinated into hatred of “monsters” until he was just as outcast as one? because only then was he willing to change and learn?? and how even people with good hearts and good intentions like ballister and ambriosius and even the queen herself are still capable of perpetuating bigotry and unnecessary violence when they don’t take the time to understand or learn about the “others” they supposedly hate????????? i need to lie down

PSA: the guardian is not working on a hit piece on diy hrt, and claims they are are misinformation
tl;dr: claims that the guardian's Susanna Rustin is writing a piece on diy hrt and contacting trans people for comment is false.
on the 18th, this post appeared on 4chan's /lgbt/ (slurs in thread: link). a screenshot was posted to reddit, then to tumblr. you've probably seen it:
today, the 23rd, another screenshot popped up on various discord servers, then was reposted variously to twitter. it shows a supposed email from guardian journalist and notorious TERF Susanna Rustin, claiming as the original 4chan post does.
it's now been shared around, and it's with good intentions. the message is useful: don't share your personal information or medical data with journalists, especially ones that happen to be TERFs.
but the post does this through misinformation and fearmongering. i'm still waiting on my response by email from Rustin, but she's reiterated twice (once, twice) that she did not write the email and is not working on such a story. on the 19th, i talked to other guardian newsroom journalists, who said they also did not know of a story's existence.
the moral of the story: this is misinformation, and it's dangerous. it spreads a fine message here, but it does it through spreading anxiety and terror.
you can follow along with this post on my parallel thread on twitter. also calling on @wakewithgiggli to delete their original post!

Dreams of a Serpent ☽🐍🪞
Encountering unconscious fears on the journey to liberation
“More especially the threat to one’s inmost self from dragons and serpents points to the danger of the newly acquired consciousness being swallowed up again by the instinctive psyche, the unconscious… snake-dreams usually occur, therefore, when the conscious mind is deviating from its instinctual basis."
— Carl Jung, ‘Archetypes of the Collective Unconscious’
☽ Upon waking to a new dawn and shedding the old skin of a previous, unwanted life, it can be easy to fall into paranoia regarding the future. The passion, the drunkenness coming from the first taste of liberation can easily become poisoned by instinctive fears arising from the unconscious, and feelings/memories left unaddressed. These fears usually take the form of a serpent in our dreams - terrifying, destructive and devouring.
Breaking free takes an enormous amount of effort and exertion and only those who have tasted freedom after living in bondage will understand how terrifying the idea of returning to the underworld can be. After waking up to your independent destiny and taking the first baby steps to living it, you can sometimes hear the underground movement of the serpentine unconscious, threatening to throw you off balance and end your journey before it has even began. Astrologically, this experience corresponds to the 8th to 9th house journey (Scorpio to Sagittarius). The 8th house is the psychic underworld, where we’re called to journey within to sort out any outstanding evolutionary debts that are holding us back from shedding old skin, gaining new modes of perception and broadening our horizons so that we may bask in the endless possibilities of the liberating 9th house.
According to Carl Jung, dreaming of dragons or serpents can “point to the danger of the newly acquired consciousness being swallowed up again by the instinctive psyche, the unconscious.” In other words, these dreams are a warning - there’s no greater force more powerful than fear and if we leave it unchecked, then all we have feared will come true and we’ll be dragged back to the underworld (8th house) kicking and screaming to start all over again. All of our progress will be for nothing, as we have missed the crucial lesson of Scorpio and the 8th house, which was to confront our fears and learn from them. By going back, the wine of liberation on our lips dries up before it has even reached our throats. Although returning to the underworld to learn lessons missed can be a positive thing, it is still a painful process and one not everyone is pleased to go through again.
It’s important to step back and take a breather if you’ve noticed these motifs pop up in your dreams. Try to journal and pinpoint what exactly you’re afraid of regressing to (as symbolised by the dragon/serpent in your dreams) and take some constructive steps towards accepting these fears and working with them, instead of running from them. Dreaming of fearsome dragons and serpents can be a terrifying and even traumatic experience, but all poisons contain the cure!
“The serpent represents magical power, which also appears where animal drives are aroused imperceptibly in us.”
— Carl Jung, ‘Liber Novus’
