Israel actually did it. They have blatantly targeted a hospital, abducted its healthcare workers, and left it entirely out of function. And nobody stopped them.

This honestly does it for me. After all the TS oversaturation the past year (and yes, I did enjoy Eras and supported her music until Midnights; Lord knows I've listened to her since I was a preteen), I'm surrendering my [casual] Swiftie card. I've tried to like her as a person/brand (brand is the better word) but now I cannot dissociate her image from her music anymore (I can't "kill" the artist from the art anymore).

How she straight-up acted in the Grammys (the Celine snub then PR cleanup, making the awards show all about her, the strategic announcement of TPD, I could go on objectively but yeah) might just be the tipping point already. And who am I, right? What's one less listener? What's one less woman who denounces TS's white feminism and performative/selective activism?

I've ignored the M*tt H**ly debacle, the Ice Spice tokenization, the Olivia Rodrigo royalties issue which I knew against my will, the Person of the Year hot water, the brat pack upgrade featuring Republican Lana Del Rey, the 'self-made' origins myth debunked, the rubbing elbows with Mahomes, the ever-growing rabid fanbase out for blood, and so on, so on.

As a person of color I just want these things out. If 'feminism' is enabling this billionaire to get away with her crimes (yes, she's a climate criminal now for me, what with using her jet as a taxi to see her newest boytoy across the globe), then I'm not seated. If 'feminism' is shrugging off her response or lack of action towards the fan, Ana Clara, who died in the Brazil leg of the tour, then I am speaking now.

I guess, it's finally been exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero.

I tried finding the information online, but all the sites I found defaulted to using sushi or just saying raw food/diet. Is there an Inupiat word for eating raw fish or seal, or would you just say the type of animal? I guess if it was the more common practice, it wouldn’t have been sensible to create a word that made it distinct from eating it in other ways. But I figured I’d check :D.

Also I was looking through your blog and I saw a post that mentioned that kissing was more about gentle breathing than pecking with your lips. Do you mean all/most kissing, or just like, instead of pressing lips/pressing lips to a cheek as a greeting or goodbye, it’s more of an air kiss?

I’m trying to write a modern Inupiat character, and you’ve talked so much on this blog about food, that I wanted to include your cuisine. She and her gf have gotten a little tired of eating out, plus their wallets aren’t that big, plus since she’s a teacher, her students like to spy on her a little when they run into each other. It’s funny to the both of them, but also they like their privacy. Thank you!

Raw meat and fish is referred to as quaq, and is also frozen. Note that like most dry foods in traditional Inupiaq cuisine, it's served sliced in thin strips and eaten as finger food; it's not, like, cubes or slabs. It's also traditionally dipped in misiģaaq (seal oil).

As for kissing, i mean that the gesture we have that has the same significance and meaning as a kiss is not necessarily contact with lips. While the term eskimo kiss is sometimes used to refer to a bastardization where people rub their noses against each other or another's face, an actual eskimo kiss involves breathing in air around another person, especially air they could have exhaled. The idea is to inhale their essence, like to have a little bit of their soul in yours. Sometimes this involves the kisser's lips brushing against the face of the kissee, especially when done as gently and relaxed as possible, but that's not the objective. The point is the breath, not the lips. While it is technically a different gesture than kissing, it has the same significance and meaning and also involves intimacy between the faces, i consider it just a cultural variation of the same thing

The Witcher books Multiple translations exist. You can buy both physical copies or the e-books. There are PDFs of them floating around online also.

The Witcher comics (english translation) You can find these at various sources online in a variety of languages, or in bookstores!

The Witcher games (The Witcher, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt + DLCs) You can buy them yourself on Steam (or elsewhere), they're frequently on sale (as a bundle) on Steam for dirt-cheap. There are also playthroughs of all of the games available on youtube.

additionally there's Online Gwent (or stand-alone Gwent), which is free, though you can buy in-game items and things. The mechanics are different from TW3 Gwent. There's also Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales (available on steam; playthrough available on youtube), which makes use of the Online Gwent mechanics.

i am losing my goddamn mind. i spent all of saturday (i had twelve fucking hours of screentime because of this) (today is monday) reading this wonderful fanfic that i could not turn my eyes away from. it changed my life, it's truly one of the best things i have ever had the privilege of reading. i wasn't finished yet though, so i just laid down in my bed to continue only to find it literally disappearing as i was reading it. it doesn't say it's deleted, just that it's a "mystery work", however, when you click on the author's page it says that they don't have any works at all.

i literally felt my entire body go numb and i am still shaking as i type this. i know fanfic authors do not owe us anything, especially since they share their talents out of the goodness of their hearts. but this has just completely shaken me. i had the best time of my life reading this story, i genuinely cannot even put into words just how much i loved it and how much it meant to me. and it's fucking gone, disappeared in the blink of an eye.

the story is called Signatures of all Things by nadyenka. if anybody knows anything about what could have possibly happened, please please please let me know.
