ー 鈴木はこれまでに記憶の痕跡、自身の体験とその外側にある世界を交差する〝内と外〟の境界や、そこに生じる揺らぎを感じさせる作品を制作してきました。前作の「lmitation Bijou」では自己と不確かな社会を含む世界に対しての〝真と偽〟を模索し、その問いかけは少しずつ変容しながら続いています。

今作の「Appear」は鈴木が撮影を続けてきた中から選んだ写真で構成され、目の前に確かに在る（…或いは在ったであろう）対象を見つめ、そこから何かしらの影響を受けた時にシャッターを切り、写真に表出する試みから立ち現れたそのイメージは、知覚の本質のみならず言語に簡潔に置き換える事のできない物事の原初を内包し、情報が瞬時に意味と成してしまう世界に置いて、その尊さをわたしたちに問いかけます。

展示に合わせて同タイトルの写真集がedition.nordより刊行されます。会場のPANTALOONにてぜひご高覧ください。

"okay, now you're just annoying me."

with an erred push, you brush the man's hands away from invading the space of your inner thigh. onyankopon lets out an exaggerated groan but his wandering hand only reverts back to the curve of your leg as he continues to sway on his own office chair.

"i'm not trying to…” he mumbles childishly and it almost makes you relent.

“i…yes, okay, i know you’re not trying to piss me off but… you’re just so handsy today.”

with your eyes and fingers trained on the computer you blow a silent exhale through your nose. there was a pause, and then a squeeze of your thigh, before he’s asking:

“do you not like handsy then?”

“ony, i love handsy.” you have to quickly confirm. “but you’re usually not and it’s just making me question what your intentions are."

your eyes quickly scan the office area as you half-heartedly mumble, "especially since im actually tryna do this work.”

the man kisses his teeth but in a way that can only hint that he's simply disregarding the thought process behind your words. with his hand latching around your thigh again, onyankopon twists you in your chair round to his direction

“if im being handsy then wooing you is definitely my goal." he muses. "im not like those lil boys who play around with actions and dont reciprocate them in intentions."

raising your eyebrow, you look him up and down.

"so how you gone reciprocate?"

you both share a split second of latched eye contact which causes a flicker of fire scorch within the concave of your chest. you don't know whether onyankopon felt it too but he slyly smirks in your direction, unhands his himself from your thigh before turning back to his own computer.

"if you want reciprocation, wait till we get off. ill show you my intentions then."
