IM NOT BROKEN, BUT IM BREAKING

You can feel it, like a burning sensation in your chest, a feeling of deep sadness that won’t pass, it just creeps up your throat, making you lose your appetite and feel sick in the guts. This feeling is called heartbreak. It allows us to see the parts of ourself that we failed to be self aware of previously. It’s a feeling that urges you to become self preserving and ‘better’ in the hopes that they came back.

………but reality reminds you to stop being ignorant to the fact part of you already knows they aren’t coming back?

You have to endure this pain as if it was physical. Taking pills, to numb this emotional burden will only cause more damage in the long run. Breakups are just like addictions, they cause pain, anger & better yet shine light where there is darkness. They help soothe the pain we feel, they allow us to place life on a pause instead of ending it completely….

So how does one overcome such a painful feeling without replacing one habit with another? As my addiction for you has now turned into:

•Starving myself so I don’t have to cook and eat alone.

• Barley sleeping at night but still waking up early every morning.

• Staying inside, pacing to the silence this home has now become.

• Having nightmares that wake me up in fear, reminding me that you’re not near.

For it isn’t a physical addiction I will be pursuing, instead it’s the idea of you, it always has been and always will be you. You are my ecstasy. You’re the most magical trip on this earth… my only destination is, YOU.
