March Prompt Madness

14 - Feathers MonSam (GAP the Series) [It’s short, but it’s something]

Mon and Sam lay on their backs on their bed, feathers flying all over and landing on them. They were both laughing and gasping for their breaths. Their hands rested on the top of the mattress and their pinkie fingers tangled together. Sam looked over at Mon and reached out with her free hand to pluck a feather from her wife’s nose. Mon’s nose crinkled with her laughing eyes. “We need new pillows now,” she said.

“These weren’t very sturdy,” Sam said in mock disappointment. Her half empty pillow lay on her stomach. She poked it. “These were very expensive.”

“Everything you own is expensive,” Mon chided. 

“Including you,” Sam said. Mon gasped playfully.

“You don’t own me.”

“But you own me,” Sam said easily.  She leaned her head up and over and kissed Mon’s cheek.

“You’re not expensive,” Mon said, staring into Sam’s eyes. “You’re priceless.” Sam smiled softly and lay her head back down, keeping it turned to keep her eyes on Mon.

“Are you a poet now?” She asked. Mon grinned and picked a piece of white feather off of Sam’s top lip.

“If I am, you made me into one,” Mon said. 

“How did I do that?”

“You came into my life,” Mon answered simply. She rolled over and propped herself up on Sam’s chest. She stared into Sam’s warm, loving eyes, her own sparkling with life. “Should I recite poetry to you?”

“No, Honorable Wife,” Sam said. “You should kiss me.”

“Hmm,” Mon hummed, still grinning. “I should?”

“Yes,” Sam nodded, her gaze serious.

“Where?” Mon leaned down and kissed Sam on the chin.

“Not there,” Sam replied. Mon kissed Sam’s jaw. “Not there,” Sam repeated. Mon kissed Sam’s nose. “Not there.” Mon kissed Sam’s forehead. “Not there.”

“Then where?” Mon finally asked. Sam pouted her lips. Mon raised an eyebrow. Sam pointed to her lips. “Right there?”

“Mhmm,” Sam confirmed. Mon hooked her fingers under Sam’s chin and brushed her lips with her thumb. Sam kissed the pad of Mon’s thumb and stared up at her. She reached up and plucked a feather from Mon’s hair. “Hmm?” Mon blew the feather from Sam’s fingers, then leaned down and kissed her. Sam immediately kissed back, her hand moving to the back of Mon’s neck. 

Mon moved further over Sam and relaxed against her wife’s body. She felt tickles from the feathers everywhere, but she didn’t care. Sam’s hands started to roam, and Mon caught them on her back. “We have to meet Tee and Yuki,” Mon whispered against Sam’s lips.

“They’ll wait,” Sam said, assuredly. 

“We always make them wait, Sam.”

“We will make them wait again,” Sam said. She pursed her lips again, as though expecting Mon to agree to it.

“No,” Mon said. She rolled off of Sam. “We have a mess to clean up.”

“I pay people to do that,” Sam scoffed.

“Sam,” Mon warned.

“Fine,” sighed Sam. “But we must take a bath before we go.”

“I think you’re tricking me,” Mon said, tapping her chin.

“We made a mess,” Sam said simply. “We must bathe.” Mon laughed and sat up.

“If we clean in ten minutes we can have a bath,” she said. 

She never saw Sam move so fast.

This is what a community looks like.

See how in 2023 almost all of the reblogs come from the OP, from their few hours/days in the tag search. Meanwhile in 2014 the % of reblogs from OP is insignificant, because most of the reblogs come from the reblogs within the fandom, within the micro-communities formed there. You didn't need to rely on tags, or search, or being featured. Because the community took care of you, made sure to pass the work between themselves and onto their blog and exposed their followers to it. It kept works alive for years.

It's not JUST the reblog/like ratio that causing this issue, it's the type of interaction people have. They're content with scrolling and liking the search engine, instead of actually having a reblogging relationship with other blogs in their community.

Anyways, if you want to see more content you like, the only true way to make it happen is to reblog it. Likes do not forward content in no way but making OP feel nice. Reblogs on the other hand make content eternal. They make it relevant, they make it exist outside of a fickle tumblr search that hardly works on the best of days.

If you want more of something, reblog it.

Sometime after everything, Mobius ends up in Don’s place on the timeline and settles in. Loki is slowly but surely figuring out a way to leave the tree for longer periods of time. He wasn’t sure if Mobius would remember him, but loves him too much to stay away entirely even if he didn’t.

Remaking this post because my old blog got nuked

Hey my old blog @doggirlnarcolepsy got terminated in the recent trans fem tumblr purge, so I'll be posting from this url from now on. Unless tumblr decides to reverse their rash and uncalled for decision, I guess...

Me and my wife have been struggling make ends meet this month and have an unpaid internet and power bill totaling at $225 that urgently need to be paid off or collection agencies will make our life a living hell recouping the charges and fees we will incur. We haven't been able to pick up our hormones or my wife's ozempic yet, as we've been putting aside everything we've received to cover the overdue bills. We've haven't been able to cover groceries either for a while so we've been going days on and off without dinner as our only meal trying to ration what we have left.

Everything has just been so chaotic these last couple of weeks negotiating with utility companies for extensions, barely eating and tumblr nuking my blog out of literally nowhere.. If anyone is able to help out it would be a huge relief for the both of us and we would be incredibly grateful
