Tiara Highlights of 2022
2022 was the year of the tiara debut with three future queens and a bunch of other people wearing their first tiara. All of my highlight picks are first tiaras and this isn't even all of them! You can check out all of the tiaras (or at least the ones I was able to find pictures of) worn during 2022 here.
Princess Fadzilah of Brunei's Wedding
Tumblr media
Princess Fadzilah wore two of Queen Saleha's tiaras for her wedding to Abdullah Al-Hashimi in January. Both of them are massive so I'm impressed with how well she wore them for her first time wearing a tiara. Princess Fadzilah wearing the blue and pink diamond toppers but not the diamond heart made me realize that Queen Saleha's Diamond Tiara and Queen Saleha's Diamond Heart Tiara have been the same tiara all along. Also, there was a royal wedding cat who attempted to steal the show.
Tommy Dorfman at the Met Gala
Tumblr media
The Met Gala usually provides us with a few tiara sightings and this year had even more because of the 'Gilded Glamour' theme. While many of the attendees wore bigger or more impressive tiaras, even one made specifically for the event, I keep being drawn to Tommy Dorfman wearing a Regency Era, green paste, hair-comb from Fred Leighton. This is the perfect way to wear a tiara to a fashion event. It's simple and stunning and by wearing it backwards but still placed impeccably it provides just that bit of quirkiness to make it stand out. It's different in an interesting way not just for the sake of being different. Special mention should go to Léna Mahfouf who also wore a tiara very well at an event where we saw a lot of bad ones.
Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway's First Tiara
Tumblr media
The pandemic caused a bit of a backup in newly of age princesses wearing their first tiara so Princess Ingrid Alexandra's postponed 18th birthday celebrations provided not just her but also two other future queens their first opportunity to wear a tiara. The birthday girl wore a pearl and diamond tiara by Boucheron that belonged to her great-great-grandmother and was left to her by her great-aunt. I thought the Norwegian royal family did a great job of emphasizing the historical and emotional connection of Princess Ingrid Alexandra wearing the tiara and of course she looked great in it.
Princess Elisabeth of Belgium's First Tiara
Tumblr media
The biggest surprise in Norway was actually from Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, the Duchess of Brabant. She wore a new to the family tiara that is most likely one that was once owned by the Vestey family. The Belgian royals don't have a large jewelry collection and very rarely add new pieces so it was totally unexpected but very welcome.
Princess Catharina Amalia of the Netherlands' First Tiara
Tumblr media
Princess Catharina Amalia, the Princess of Orange, choose the Star Button Tiara for her first tiara outing. It was the one worn by her mother, Queen Maxima, on her wedding day so a very sentimental choice that she wore beautifully. Princess Catharina Amalia has spoken more than once about her love of tiaras so I'm very interested to see her explore the large Dutch collection in the future.
Sultanah Nur Diana Petra of Kelantan's First Tiara
Tumblr media
This summer Nur Diana was elevated to the rank of Sultanah or Queen of Kelantan and in November we finally saw her in her first tiara. She choose Queen Zainab's Diamond Tiara which features the state emblem of Kelantan. I think she'll wear this one the most in the future but hopefully she wears some of the other tiaras belonging to the Kelantan royal family too.
Le Bal
Tumblr media
There are usually tiaras at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris every year but this year the official jeweler was an antique/estate jeweler with a huge collection of historical items instead of a contemporary jeweler which made the event so much more exciting. Six of the attendees wore a tiara or aigrette for the first time. In the top row are Leah Isadora Behn, Archduchess Sophia of Habsburg-Lorraine, and Wenhao Cai and the bottom row are Bristol Fales Hill, Princess Hélène of Orleans, and Princess Inayatinder Kaur of Patiala.
What was your favorite tiara moment of 2022?

The Princess of Xiaohe (Chinese: 小河公主) or Little River Princess was found in 2003 at Xiaohe Cemetery in Lop Nur, Xinjiang. She is also known as M11 for the tomb she was found in. She was buried around 3,800 years ago. Furthermore, she was named the Princess of Xiaohe due to her state of preservation and beauty, not her social status; there is no reason to believe she was any more important than the other mummies buried in the complex.
The Princess has blonde hair and long eyelashes, with some facial features more similar to Indo-Europeans, such as high cheekbones and pale skin. She seems to be smiling slightly. She was 152 centimetres tall. Chunks of cheese were found on her neck and chest, possibly as food for the afterlife. Her body was not embalmed before death, but mummified naturally due to the climate and burial method.
“Despite being genetically isolated, the Bronze Age peoples of the Tarim Basin were remarkably culturally cosmopolitan – they built their cuisine around wheat and dairy from West Asia, millet from East Asia and medicinal plants like Ephedra from Central Asia,” said senior author Christina Warinner, an associate professor of anthropology at Harvard University.
The Tarim Basin mummies in what is now southern Xinjiang were once thought to be Indo-European-speaking migrants from the West. Some thought that their ancestors migrated from what became southern Siberia, northern Afghanistan or the Central Asian mountains.
“The identity of the earliest inhabitants of Xinjiang, in the heart of inner Asia, and the languages that they spoke have long been debated and remain contentious,” wrote the team of 34 researchers from China, Germany, South Korea and the United States in peer-reviewed journal Nature on Wednesday.

The Issyk kurgan of the 'Golden Man' 6th-3rd C. BCE
"The Issyk kurgan, in south-eastern Kazakhstan, less than 20 km east from the Talgar alluvial fan, near Issyk, is a burial mound discovered in 1969. It has a height of six meters and a circumference of sixty meters. It is dated to the 4th or 3rd century BC. A notable item is a silver cup bearing an inscription. The finds are on display in Nur-Sultan. It is associated with the Saka peoples.
The burial complex located on the left bank of the Issyk Mountain River, 50 kilometers to the East to the Almaty city. The unique archaeological complex found by a small group of Soviet scientists led by archaeologist Kemal Akishevich Akishev in 1969. The burial ground consists of 45 large Royal mounds with a diameter of 30 to 90 and a height of 4 to 15 meters. The Issyk barrow is located in the Western half of the burial ground. Its diameter is 60 meters and its height is 6 meters.
Situated in eastern Scythia just north of Sogdiana, the kurgan contained a skeleton, warrior's equipment, and assorted funerary goods, including 4,000 gold ornaments. Although the sex of the skeleton is uncertain, it may have been an 18-year-old Saka (Scythian) prince or princess.
The richness of the burial items led the skeleton to be dubbed the "golden man" or "golden princess", with the "golden man" subsequently being adopted as one of the symbols of modern Kazakhstan. A likeness crowns the Independence Monument on the central square of Almaty. Its depiction may also be found on the Presidential Standard of Nursultan Nazarbayev.
There were two burials in the grave complex: the Central one and the Southern one (to one side). Unfortunately the Central burial site had been robbed but the side grave was undisturbed. The burial chamber in the side grave was constructed from spruce logs. The tomb and its contents remained intact and buried. The skeletal remains were found in the Northern half of the chamber. More than 4,000 gold items were found in the chamber, as well as iron sword and dagger, a bronze mirror, vessels made of clay, metal and wood, shoes, headdresses, gold rings, statuettes, bronze and gold weapons, and an inscribed silver bowl dating from the 6th to 5th century BCE. Many clothing ornaments made of gold, a headdress and shoes were found on and under the remains. Next to the remains were an arrow with a gold tip, a whip (the handle of which was wrapped with a wide ribbon of gold in a spiral pattern) and a bag containing a bronze mirror and red paint. Scientific research, particular that of the anthropologist O. I. Ismagulov, shows that the remains belong to a member of the Saka peoples of Semirecheye, who have a European appearance with an admixture of Mongoloid features. The age of the body at death is estimated at 16–18 years, and its sex is indeterminate. The form of clothing and method of burial suggest that "The Golden Man" was a descendant of a prominent Saks tribe leader, or a member of the Royal family.
A text was found on a silver bowl in Issyk kurgan, dated approximately VI BC. The context of the burial gifts indicates that it may belong to Saka tribes.
The Issyk inscription is not yet certainly deciphered, and is probably in a Scythian dialect, constituting one of very few autochthonous epigraphic traces of that language. János Harmatta, using the Kharoṣṭhī script, identified the language as a Khotanese Saka dialect spoken by the Kushans.
The Wikipedia page has a possible (partial?) deciphering of the Issyk inscription as: "The vessel should hold wine of grapes, added cooked food, so much, to the mortal, then added cooked fresh butter on".
...
Kazakhstan will rebury an iconic ancient warrior in a time capsule this year (2019), in the hope that future generations will be able to establish who he really was, Kazakh TV reports.
Since independence in 1991, he has become a symbol of Kazakhstan's national heritage. His armour takes pride of place in the national museum in Astana, and tours the world as a calling card of Kazakh culture.
The bones were only rediscovered recently at a forensic institute, stored in a cardboard box with a scribbled note reading "The Golden Man, May He Rest in Peace".
"We know his age and social status, while DNA tests could provide us with exhaustive data," researcher Dosym Zikiriya told Kazakh TV.
But Yermek Zhasybayev of the Issyk Museum held out little hope of this. "The bones are in a bad state. They have been kept in a cardboard box for 50 years and been exposed to all sorts of bacteria and viruses, including modern ones. It is now impossible to get a full DNA transcription - if only we had the skull, or just one tooth," he told the TV channel.
Scientists say their only hope is to seal the remains in a special time capsule to prevent any further decomposition, so that technological advances might allow future generations to glean more information about the long-dead warrior.
In recognition of the Golden Man's status, the capsule will be "ceremonially buried in keeping with ancient royal traditions", Kazakh TV said.
Archaeologists are confident that the remains date back to at least the 2nd-3rd century BCE, when south-eastern Kazakhstan was home to the Saka people, who are believed to have been part of the broader Scythian nomadic confederation.
They were gradually displaced by the arrival of the Kipchak Turk ancestors of the Kazakhs, but modern Kazakhstan has taken the Golden Man to its heart."

"Die neue Mrs de Winter" - Translation of Danny's part
SO in the new London production they cut Danny's part of "Die neue Mrs de Winter," which I'm frankly annoyed by because I like that moment for her character--it's the musical version of the Hitchcock camera zoom onto her. So with that in mind I thought I'd try my hand at translating her part in the German into English, with some explanation for why I made the choices I did.
The original German lyrics are below, as well as a literal word-for-word English translation, and then my translation after that. I'll put my thoughts under the cut as I'm afraid it'll get really long otherwise.
Literal English:
Even if she were a princess What does she want in Manderley? For me there's only one Mrs de Winter in this world Your body rests then in the grave Your ghost is still in Manderley And no one can take your place Never!
My translation:
No matter how well bred she is She has no place in Manderley I know there can only be One true Mrs de Winter They say you’re lying in your grave, But you’re still here in Manderley And nobody can take your place Ever
Explanation of choices under the cut!
SO right off the bat I've never been huge fan of the "princess" line though it works in German (and Fürstin has a nice old-fashioned nobility connotation) but I wanted something that still got that meaning across, and between that and "she has no place" I wanted to get across the point of what Ich believes is Danvers' disdain for Ich's lower-class upbringing (something Ich obsesses over in the novel), as well as make it clear her feelings on someone replacing Rebecca.
I could've stuck with "For me there can only be" instead of "I know there can only be" but I thought "I know" sounded nicer. "One true Mrs de Winter" - same effect.
"They say you're lying in your grave" - I wanted to set up the echo of this line we get in "She's invincible" and go ahead and get that across, plus there's my favorite detail in the German where Danny addresses Rebecca here (and throughout) with the informal "you," something she only does a few other times--to Ich, when she's mad at her or terrorizing her (Nur ein Schritt/Mrs de Winter bin Ich.) I wanted to keep that direct address, so this works here.
"But you're still here in Manderley" a little less subtle than "Your spirit/ghost is still in Manderley."
"And nobody can take your place / ever" - I toyed between "never" and "ever" as Never would be more a direct translation, but "Nobody would ever take your place" flows if this were just a sentence spoken in English, where never does not, so I went with that.
If you made it this far, congrats! I find all of this extremely interesting and fun and love talking/thinking about translation choices.

The Legend of Zelda: Warum Twilight Princess und Ocarina of Time grundverschieden sind
Worldbuilding steht hier an erster Stelle.
Tumblr media
Solche Momente existieren in Ocarina of Time nicht.
Tumblr media
In Ocarina of Time wirken die Labyrinthe fast wie separate Level.
Tumblr media
A Link To The Past lässt grüßen!

At the investiture ceremony in Kelantan last week we got a few nice tiara surprises. The most exciting is that Nur Diana, the new Sultanah of Kelantan, has worn her first tiara! She chose one that belonged to Queen Zainab and features the state emblem of Kelantan. She has been married to the Sultan for twelve years but is just recently taking on a public role.
Tumblr media
In addition to the tiara, Nur Diana wore a diamond necklace that belonged to Queen Zainab, the Sultan's grandmother, and an emerald pendant that belongs to Queen Anis, the Sultan's mother. Zainab and Anis were both titled Raja Perempuan while Nur Diana is Sultanah but they both translate to Queen Consort. Several of the Malay kingdoms differentiate titles depending on if the person was born a royal or a commoner.
Tumblr media
Sofie Louise was also given a title upgrade in August and along with her new Che Puan Mahkota aka Crown Princess title is a new tiara! It appears to be a converted necklace that has previously been worn by Tengku (Princess) Amalin, the Sultan's sister.
Tumblr media
This happened last summer not last week but I just found it while searching for the other jewelry. The tiara worn by Miera Leydia for her wedding to Tengku (Prince) Abdul Rahman is a necklace that belonged to Queen Zainab, Abdul Rahman's great-grandmother. The picture is from the early 60s right after Zainab's husband ascended the throne and I would guess that the necklace/tiara was made around then.

One Piece Chapter 1086 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
So we are back, one more for the road
Last week was madness, the Reverie once again proving that the Reverie has been the sleeper arc of the whole series - remember when we wanted to get straight to Wano? Those were the days
Still, now we move to the next, a bittersweet one with news that Oda will be taking the next 4 weeks off to get eye surgery for his astigmatism. We can only hope the surgeons take especial care of fixing Oda's eyes for this one, he needs them to keep up with the peak fiction
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release also
Colour spread for today, rainy days and rainbows, appreciate Franky having a water spurt hairdo, plus he and Luffy about to splash the hell out of the crew (sans Zoro and Jinbe)
It seems we're continuing on the end point of the Reverie now
Also important that the Gorosei's translation is now 'Five Elder Planets', before it was 'Five Elder Stars' but given how we know that one was called Saturn it makes more sense
Feel bad for the Alabasta guardians; Igaram, Shaka and Pell trying to get to the bottom of things, when they know Cobra's died paired with Vivi being missing they're gonna beat themselves up pretty badly
But Vivi and Wapol have stowed away in the Aegis Kingdom's ship (also ironic since Aegis is a word for 'Shield', as it shields them from the WG)
Wapol's also in comms with Morgans, who agrees to feign looking for a scoop there to pick them up
The thought bubbles are deceptive, I think they're meant to be whispers since Wapol and Vivi are conversing, but Wapol doesn't want to breathe a word about what he saw, but Vivi won't leave because CP0 is after her
Wapol didn't even seem to tell her that Cobra's dead, since she wanted to contact him to ensure she's safe
Unsurprisingly, CP0 are also after Vivi and Sabo
Fuck off Stelly
FUCK OFF SPANDAM
Bonney stowed away on the 'Tajine Kingdom', apparently Tajine is a stew, and the aptness here is that Bonney is hungry
And of course Sabo, bleeding out, is on Lulusia's ship
Back at Marejois after the ships depart, the Gorosei discuss Sabo, they seem to have done a bit of a background check on him, since they know him to be surrounded by people of D.
Imu's on the call though, it seems the super Nuke that destroyed Lulusia was called 'the Mother Flame', and it was invented by Vegapunk
It seems the Gorosei were itching to try it out, but they were thinking uninhabited areas, nuking the deserts so to speak, but Imu decides upon Lulusia
No care for the human life, and the Gorosei don't seem to argue much about it
Imu's reason is vague though 'close proximity', close to what? or who? The Gorosei didn't know Sabo was there until after the order but you can't rule it out for Imu to know
And we finally get the Gorosei names, each are 'warrior gods' of a certain division
Saturn we already knew but his area is Defense Science, which explains why he is going to Egghead
Long beardo is Saint Markus Mars, Environmental Warrior God
Gorbachev is Saint Topman Valcurie, according to later notes it's Val or Wal, and the curie may be Marie Curie-based which sounds like Mercury, Justice Warrior God
Swordsman is Saint Ethan Baron V. Nusjuro...At first I thought Neptune but it's more 'Venus-juro', Finance Warrior God
And finally regular dude/manly stubble is Saint Shepard Ju Peter, Agriculture Warrior God
I admire the creativity but I can't deny it kinda annoys me that we're not consistent with the planet names, either name them all clearly (Shepard Jupiter, Ethan Baron Venus-Juro, Topman Mercury) or make them all partial (Markus Marrus and Jay Garcia Santa Nur)
Regardless, Saturn seems to be at the helm of the Mother's Flame, while the others justify using it as a means of 'instantly quelling protracted conflict'
Imu also wants Vivi, calling her by name, no honorifics. You were so uppity about Lily's full name Imu why not call her Princess Nefertari D. Vivi huh?
Coincidentally, Tajine and Aegis' kingdoms both went into rebellion, giving Akainu more of a headache
More Seraphim! We do have an S-Flamingo, S-Gecko and S-Crocodile
Seems Croco had that scar while he was young too, I wonder if S-Flamingo is like his adult self too
Very interested about S-Gecko mind you, because remember the Moria we know and don't quite like was the depression phase 'quit the chase but not the game' version, a younger more ambitious Moria may be more terrifying
I also wonder what fruit they gave S-Crocodile, since Green Blood can't do Logia or Zoan
But also, I thought Vegapunk only made four, S-Shark was in a room with the number 4 and he wasn't ready for combat yet, did the WG manage to replicate the process?
Also with these 3 Seraphim I can guess how most of the 4 kingdoms whose rebellions failed didn't succeed...
Back with Sabo we learn that the rebellion was waiting for the royals when they docked, which is no surprise given how they had the Peachbeard incident, so they welcomed Sabo pretty happily
He didn't correct them on the Cobra incident though, which is a bit cruel because sure you want them to still be filled with rebellion but you're also inviting them to kill any and all royals, even the good ones
Seems Moda the Milk Girl (who remember has family in the Navy, will be getting bad coffee again in the office now) and the other Lulusia survivors were in fact recruits for the army
Sabo was on a ship when the nuking happened
Sabo confirms that something man-made caused the destruction
Ivankov is all of us though, putting the threads together
The Imu of the original 20 was Saint Nerona Imu, Nerona sounds familiar, could be Verona the Italian city Shakespeare used, or maybe referencing Emperor Nero, but I can't quite put my finger on it
Ivankov also posits that Imu could be the same via 'an ability granting eternal youth', but he doesn't say Law's fruit, instead it's a book of Genesis with Santa strangling a Snake XD
Of course there is room for doubt, but Ivankov's reasoning is sound, the Gorosei would be outranked by a founder
They also suggest that Vegapunk made the weapon, which is true
But Dragon notes that Vegapunk would never make a killing machine, so perhaps he was manipulated into making something else that was reused as a weapon, which would explain the need to test it too
Ivankov keeps on speaking the fans' voice, what if the Mother's Flame is an Ancient Weapon, but Dragon does make the point of why use it now
All this stuff relaying what we've said does make me wonder if the truth is much wilder than this
Oh, a Celestial Dragon has been sentenced to death, sadly I can already guess who
The Dragons are feeling the lack of food but they still have cake so fuck them
Our first known God's Knights is introduced, with crescent hair/beard, he is the Judge for the Celestial Dragons, and former King of God Valley!
Saint Figarland Garling...Figarland...*looks up* OH! Oh...the family the Red Movie they thought Uta was from, and thus maybe Shanks, who was likely found on God Valley
He's a Saint which means he must've been a Celestial Dragon, but he doesn't dress like them, he's more like the Gorosei so perhaps he's between that rank
Yeah...Mjosgard has been sentenced to death, shot on a WG cross
'Anyone who protects scum is lower than the scum they protect' my guy that's not how the Naruto quote goes
Methinks that the Charloss incident is the cause of this, since Mjosgard approved his attack
Well we got a lot of information to whet ourselves for the month, finally catching up through all (well, most, we never saw what Shanks told the Gorosei) of the Reverie's incidents.
God's Knights have been introduced strongly via Garling, but as the commander we must expect him to be the top level, I wonder what level he's on in general, since 10+ straw hats plus allies won't be expected to fight 5 Gorosei plus Imu, perhaps the top God's Knight fights the God Usopp?
Getting all the Gorosei's names was unexpected, as well as the divisions they cover; Science, Law, Agriculture, Finance and Environment, all key areas, though Agriculture and Environment feel like they're hand in hand. It's interesting that they're considered gods as well, perhaps like the Five Wisdom Buddha (interestingly another name is the Five Jinas, Jina meaning 'Victor' or 'Conqueror'). While I'll have to live through the gripes with their names, it's interesting that they did in fact leave out the planet names of Earth, Neptune, Uranus and Pluto, the latter three of which are the namesakes of ancient weapons. Perhaps Imu is indeed the Earth, or just space itself (the void, or Mu), leaving Luffy the Sun and Blackbeard to potentially be the Moon.
Pour one for Mjosgard, the last reasonable Celestial Dragon we know of, joining T-Bone for the 'we wanted people of their profession to die but not them specifically' group. But in his place we get S-Flamingo, it'll be interesting how the new trio of Seraphim (which does complete the seven, unless the WG do intend to make more, I wonder if Green Blood and replicate Law's fruit could they still get eternal life?) will be utilized for the plot, they did mention the real Crocodile being on Empty Bluffs - Buggy's HQ - so are we gonna get a Croco-crossover? Or More o' Moria? Time will tell.
As for the Revolutionaries, I feel like this is reason for the Army to want to confront Vegapunk on Egghead (I feel like Vegapunk didn't know he was making something for an Ancient Weapon, if it is that, maybe it was a failed experiment to create a mini-sun as a fuel source, changed into a weapon, since Lilith did mention something like that as an ambition), but one wonders if Sabo will be compelled to join or to go in search of Vivi instead to deliver Cobra's message. I feel like Alabasta aren't privy to Vivi's status or the truth of Cobra's death so it might be a cold welcome for him.
I still maintain that I don't think we'll see Luffy and co next chapter, but it did feel like this was a good stopping point for Oda before things get even more out of hand, we still have loose threads dangling but we'll see what Oda's recovered, surgically fixed pair of eyes will set on us in July.

(sorry for the tags but I need an opinion about this-)
“I love her”
How many times did you heard that words? How many different reactions did you had? Many, maybe to many for you to be considered everytime a girl impossible to not love. You knew that he would never love you, but sometimes you wished that the things could go different, after all you already ended in a novel, like your favourite Fl from other books, becoming a Fl too, a beautiful and lovely princess named 'Odette Alexandra de von Lux', with long, straight, soft brown hair and two breathtaking blue eyes, so you were quite sure that since you were reborn you could have your happy ending, but the destiny didn't agree with you, after all you were just a mere ornament to the perfect picture, a plaything for a stronger force that wanted to get entertained for a while and if you failed in your job then you would be simply throw away for another plaything, and so you ended to reborn in the same story over and over, so many times that you had almost forgot the name of the original novel, so many times that you were able to know every reaction that people would get at every events, words and actions. You tried after the second time in the book to change the ending, to get with someone else, and you had done it, you were happy, you died from old age with a lovely husband and children. But when you opened your eyes you were again in your infant body, that took you to try to change ending again, finishing with a woman, but still the same story. You had even tried to kill yourself, to get execute and in any other ways, but nothing: in the end you would always return to the infant body of the FL you possessed. It was becoming annoying for you, always trying to change everything, trying to get another ending, trying to just disappear. And the saddest thing was that after your two thousand life, you felt in love, for truly with a man. He changed role and position in every life but the name was always the same: 'Enric de la Nur'. You met him when he was a commander of the imperial knights, but he refused your love in that life so you tried again and again but nothing worked with him, he was always destined to love another woman, to die in front of you for her. You tried truly everything and every romance trope you knew for win his heart but nothing, he would always love and die for the original villainess 'Claudine von Fivl'. In one life you even ended with her as partner, it was a nice experience, but still he continued to die for her in front of you, making all of your efforts unless. You could remember all the memories in your lives you had with him, you even dedicated songs you could remember, only some parts, from the modern world you were once part from but then were nothing if he always forgotten them at the start of the cycle again.
You smiled, a perfect fake smile you got used to do in your past lives, and put your hands together at your chest, acting all happy and bubbly, hiding your tears behind your blue eyes
“Congratulations for your engagement with her then Enric! I bet she will make the best duchess of de la Nur that has ever seen!”
You said faking happiness looking at the couple in front of you, looking at how happy they looked, at how Claudine was holding her pregnant belly, while some words of an old song you didn't remember completely, got in your mind, something about swearing eternal love and at the fact that the people survived to a war, and at those thoughts a nostalgic smile appeared on your face while a lonely tear ran down your face, because in the end you always survived and vowed love, but never lived.
“I vowed I would always be yours...”

20 questions for fic writers
Thank you @wellbelesbian for the tag! Here goes:
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
... 162. what the FUCK.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
1,323,028. WHAT THE FUCK
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Well, almost half of those 162 fics are Glee fics. My other two bigger fandoms are Check, Please! and the Simon Snow Series.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Everything will be alright, the only Brooklyn Nine-Nine fic I have ever written.
All shall know the wonder, probably my favourite Check, Please! fic that I've written, so hooray!
The last to know, which was a reaction fic for the end of year 3 of Check, Please!
How lucky we are to be alive right now, which is my first ever Carry On fic and I don't even like it that much anymore, but I guess it's the origin story yada, yada.
The 2020 Young America New Year’s Eve Gala, my sole Red, White & Royal Blue fic. I wrote it in 2020, but thanks to the movie, it got a lot more views and kudos.
I am actually surprised (but also not, I think I have seen this before) that there is no Glee fic in this list. My Glee/Klaine fic with most kudos is the 15th on the list!!! (It's Myosotis sylvatica, by the way.) (My goddamn Love, Victor fic is higher on the list WACK!!)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
No. I do read all of them, but I always feel super awkward responding. Idk. It's a me problem, I guess. So I only respond when I have something specific to say or if a comment totally blows me away and I want to at least acknowledge that. Although... I am behind on that as well.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hmmm. Does Your heart is in your chest again, not hanging from your sleeve count? It's a Next to Normal AU Klaine story, and if you know the musical, you know.
There's also My rose-coloured boy, a pre-Wayward Son Snowbaz fic that shows that Simon is not dealing with shit and it has an unhappy ending, I suppose, but it also fits in canon so does it count, because in canon, the entire Snowbaz story does have a happy end.
OH WAIT A HOT MINUTE THERE IS ALSO MY WIP Dalton 8 Days of Wrath. That fic is supposed to be Sad Shit Only!!!
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I love writing happy endings, so I am not sure which one is the happiest.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope, luckily.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Nope. I uhhhh have a whole ass essay on why I don't.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Yes, I am one of those "how can I Klaine-ify" bitches. The craziest is probably my Glee/Animal Crossing fic Wandering. I don't like it THAT much, but it was fun. I also had a very extensive, not-published Glee/Barbie Mariposa and the Fairy Princess crossover (yeah) once.
And I've been talking for ages about how I will one day write a Glee/Winx Club crossover.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I unfortunately assume that it's happened, since ya know, AO3 scrapers.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I know someone wanted to translate Charms & Pearls into Italian, but I don't know it's happened. @klaineship2 also translated one of my Hearing verse fics into German: Musik nur, wenn sie laut ist. I once read this translation out loud and sent it to my German friend @vreniii and I may have hurt her ears.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! Call Me Maybe, my aroace Agatha fic with @captain-aralias and Stage Fright, a Halloween Klaine fic with @spookyklaine, @esperantoauthor, @justgleekout, @snarkyhag, sopheadraws, MissFlurry and keyiqiang.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
(Yes, Alex, I still say OTP.)
Klaine. Look, I will be a Klainer 12 till the day I die. You will catch me crying over Teenage Dream (gcv) at the nursing home.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have... so many WIPs. So. Many. WIPs. I don't want to give up on them yet.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I like to think I can write dialogue and that I can be pretty funny.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Alex, I so feel you on the second hand embarrasment thing with sappy stuff. I also bitch a lot about not being able to write romantic endings. I also have struggles with describing movement.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I mean. I have done it before, most noteably Paradiso, aap noot mies and Ik was meteen ondersteboven., so I am down for it.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Published? Glee.
When I was a wee child writing stories about other media, Winx Club and Harry Potter, although I never published those.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
OH. Oof. In no order, split by my 3 main fandoms (because I cannot narrow it down!):
For Klaine: Myosotis series (especially part 1 and 5), Mendacious, I’d cry a river just for you, All the pretty things that we could be and Ljubim te.
For Snowbaz: Paradiso series (especially part 1 and 3, rip part 2), Time After Time and make a fire out of this flame.
For Zimbits: All shall know the wonder and Center Ice.
Forgive me for not tagging anyone. I am taking the lazy "everyone is free to do it!" approach because I am tired!!!

Two random headcanons about “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power” now that I have seen and loved the entire show.
01. The reason Bow has so many siblings is because he and his brothers are all orphans adopted by George and Lance.
02. Horde Prime’s origin story is that he was originally an Angel who coveted the Light of God (your decision as to whether what he coveted was the Ur Ein Sof, the Tabor Light, the Empyrean, An-Nur, Prakasha, the Flame Imperishable, Jyoti, the Light of a Specific Sun God, or whatever else…) in order to create a world that he could dominate and control only to be cast out of Shamayim, Paradiso, Jannam, Svargalokam, the Timeless Halls, or whichever world he dwelt in originally when the Great Maker saw there was no love in his heart…and then he got banished from the midst of his fellow Demons when he tried to take over the position of Dark Lord for himself and had to make his way in the Neutral Plane when that failed.
