QotD: What color is the cover of your current read? Hola bookstagram! This gorgeous purple cover is my current read. Bloody Spade by @brittanymwillows is so good, and although I'm not far into the book, I'm enjoying both protagonists so far. I plan to read more today to see what's going to happen next 😁🙌🏼 - I don't know about you guys, but I had a pretty bleh weekend. Had a super long drive to visit family on Saturday, and it wasn't a bad visit, the drive to them just suuuuucks. Made us totally exhausted on Sunday, except kiddo, he was still a whirlwind of energy haha! Anyway, my beta reader search has begun. I'm probably going to be a bit annoying until I can at least get my minimum beta reader counts, and no I'm not turning to paid betas so please don't recommend me any. If I had to chose between a developmental editor or a paid beta, I'm going editor. MY editor. I trust her and she has a developmental package, but only if I can't find any betas to read TCfFP. Well, that's all I got for today. Next month is February so I'm going all in on the romance books I've accumulated, and maybe talk about my 2 romance WIPs while I'm at it hehe. About the Author #PrideMonth Edition: Hey all, in honor of Pride Month, I'd thought I'd talk a little bit about my journey of discovering my orientation. First off, I am bisexual, I'm married to my husband, and I'm a mother to my son. I discovered and accepted my sexuality very recently, like 2 years recently. For years I was very confused and struggling with who I was and who I could love because society would rather constrict me and force me in a box so that they could remain comfortable instead of allowing me to live the way I should. Do you want to know what my husband said after I came forward about being bisexual? "Yeah I know." He knew who I was before I did! My husband knew me better than society ever cared to, but because of my constant neglect and confusion of myself, I ended up implementing that in my writing by accident. I haven't bothered promoting my 2 books for pride month because, honestly, if you read them, you wouldn't know what my characters orientation is because I never hinted nor stated them in my books. My books have characters in the queer spectrum, but because of hiding myself, I did hide a part of my characters identities too. Granted, their orientation isn't important to their respective stories, so it's fine, but it doesn't change who they are, and I wanted to tell you a part of who they are. In The Call for Finis: Pride, the protagonist Salvia is Demisexual and a supporting character Zinnia is Aromantic and Asexual. In Revenge and Forgiveness, the protagonist Kaius is Demisexual, the supporting character Adhnis is Sapphic and Alaia is Bisexual, and a Antagonist Vincent is Gay. Not much else more to say. 🌷 #dissapointed 🌷 Read: Feb 13-14, 2022 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Wedding Ringer by Kerry Rea QOTD: what’s the last book that disappointed you? Oh. My. God. I spent Barnes & Noble money on this. B&N! The synopsis sounds fantastic, it’s a romance, the book was purple (I’ve been very into this purple), it had everything going for it and it flopped. It started off okay, but after a bit, I just became soooooo bored. I also found Willa a tad immature. I loved that the book explored a good working co-parenting relationship and within the adult family relationships it was so really nice. I love Maisie she was so sweet.
