Slight batman au, where batman is only so serious during justice league meetings and at the watchtower bc it's a life or death job.

So, imagine outside of being batman and being in danger Bruce Wayne is actually , like , funny and not serious at all outside of work.

Also, I love the young Bruce Wayne headcannons, where he's in his early 20s and all the children are closer in age. So, he's a good dad but really young,so knows tiktok and songs.

Imagine the justice league seeing him at a gala with people he knows, like if Oliver queen was his friend, and he's just fucking about, not at all serious like as batman. And they think there's something wrong or he's acting when he's actually just having fun.

Add in the au where dc and marvel are in the same universe and you get early 20s Bruce Wayne, Tony stark and Oliver queen messing about and having fun at a gala while the justice league is shocked that Bruce can do much as laugh.

Bruce, Tony and Oliver escaped kidnappings together, and are eachother's safe space, so they just can't be serious around eachother.

Why Bruce and Ollie are always mad at eachother in JL meetings is because otherwise they'd end up laughing and I stand by that.

Ollie is there solely because I think its hilarious that well into their 40s Bruce does something that makes Ollie realize that he KNOWS WHO BATMAN IS. and that batman is the little weirdo he went to high school with

Ollie was scared of bruce and never talked to him. was 100% convinced that that kid did human sacrifice at some point or smthing.

Bruce and Harvey def picked on Lex. Were they his only friends? yes. Were they also really toxic and mean? Yes. Not that lex was nice either but ya know.

Lex has walked in on bruce and harvey kissing many times. poor boy just wants to chill in his room. He never tells anyone (who tf is he gonna tell anyway?) but he still thinks about it. in a 'he remembers it at the wirdest times, leans back, and goes huh' way.

Harvey doesnt realize he's bi until after his redemption arc in the far future. Because, obviously, making out with bruce over the years doesnt count. It's Bruce.

a/n: bc king atticus (ez's grandfather) invited claudia to sit on the throne and i haven't stopped thinking about it

The first time Claudia sits on her throne as queen—after the spat they'd had about her having one (that Ez had won)—and settles, dress rustling by her feet, she laughs.

Ezran quirks a brow. They've been married for under a month, and while he knows her quite well (she's been his high mage for quite some time, and his partner the past year and a half), well... Claudia never quite stops surprising him. It's one of the reasons he loves her.

"What?" he asks at last.

"Nothing." She goes to hide her smile with her hand, eyes strangely dewy. "I assumed I'd think more of my father, but... I'm thinking of yours—your father's father."

Ezran's brow furrows deeper. "King Atticus?"

It's been twenty-five years since he passed away, only knowing Ezran about six months. Ez has no memory of him—even Callum doesn't have much—and unlike with their mother, there's no melancholy there. Harrow had been determined to be a better king than his father; it seems to run in the family. (One day, the children he and Claudia have will want to surpass them. It seems fair.)

"Mmhm." Claudia tucks her black hair behind her ears, more trailing down her shoulders. She looks so pretty like this it's almost hard to concentrate (newlywed bliss, as Soren would say). "He invited me up on his throne when I got in trouble for doing dark magic. I even offered to fix it for him because it was so uncomfortable. A child's pride, huh?"

Ezran steps closer, leaning over and resting his hand over hers on one of the throne's arm rest. "Most children are too well meaning to be prideful, don't you think?"

She brightens a little, the mistiness fading from her eyes. "Maybe."

"You've always wanted to help people," he says, squeezing her hand. "And that's what you'll be able to do as queen." He kisses her forehead right below her crown and then pulls back, smiling gently. "How does the throne feel? Comfortable?"

Claudia's lips twitch. Her gaze is steady when it meets his and he knows she means it. "Just about."

This serves me right, because I always complain about fantasy writers tying up their fantasy kingdoms too nicely lol. I love open endings but this (+ the Kamet and Costis situation?) is driving me nuts 😭

At first I thought this meant Gen and Irene lost both kids before passing away, but it might also be that they died relatively young and that’s when Hector “was lost” (???????)... But Eugenia needs to have been relatively young when she run away (???), since she lived to see her great-granddaughter.

Also, clearly she married into nobility -- it’s so puzzling? Maybe Pheris ‘help’ was arranging a match to her, or enough pomp that she looked less like a runaway and more like an... exiled princess? Noble on vacation? That is, IF he helped at all, since this is speculation from three generations later... boy!

It’s very melancholic to think of the possibility that this was just a big disaster to Gen and Irene -- losing (??????) a kid and then having the other run away! I generally love stuff like this, but somehow this possibility just seems so bleak to me... Maybe it’s because the siblings don’t even like, disappear together, as far as we know. Megan Whalen Turner didn’t allow me a single pair of weird siblings 😭
