Wanting to stay in touch, Izuku and Rody start mailing letters to each other almost immediately after Izuku gets back to Japan. Izuku sends one first, Rody teases him for being so impatient in his reply; a reply that he wrote and sent as soon as he possibly could but Izuku didn't need to know that. They talk like this for a few months, about their lives and their thoughts, comfortable and open just like when they were traveling together across Otheon; like it was just the two of them again.

Maybe Rody got too comfortable, maybe Izuku's honest nature wore his walls down too much, but on his next letter Rody confesses...everything. How he felt for Izuku, how long he'd been dealing with these intimate feelings in his chest, how yes, actually, he really really wanted to see Izuku again! It's all laid bare before he can overthink it. His handwriting is sloppy and he nearly rips the whole thing up more than once.

It sits fully written, addressed, and sealed on his desk for days before he finally breaks. Rody drops it in the post box and forces himself to focus on something else. It would be at least a week before he got Izuku's awkward but kind let down so he had no reason to dwell on it now. What's done is done.

Then the war breaks out.

The letter doesn't make it to Japan, the borders having shut before it could leave port. Rody has to try and hide the crushing knot in his chest when the old tv at the bar only passively mentions the devastation in Jaku. He has to stand there, mopping the floor, and hope Izuku wasn't involved.

Where was his school again? Was it close to there? Did they send him to fight again? Detailed information is almost impossible to find. Rody's only internet access is the public library and any articles he can find with any details are all in Japanese. He almost tries learning the language himself to fill the gaps in the automatic translations but he gets too frustrated too fast.

He catches the broadcast of the fight with Shigaraki by chance, butting into some random guy's personal space as he streamed the live coverage on his phone. He has to pretend he's just curious and unknowing and not screaming for Izuku to win; to survive.

The dust clears, the fight ends. Izuku is barely conscious but he lived and stood tall long enough that others could get him to the hospital. The room is sterile and peaceful, one by one his worries about his classmates and teachers wash away as they stabilize, heal, and come out of surgery okay. His more unscathed classmates come to check in and give him updates; Mandalay brings Kota and Mirio brings Eri. His mom makes time every single day to see him.

It's been almost a week, he'll be discharged any day now, and his mom comes to see him again with something gently held in her hand.

He got a letter in the mail.

🐦 Production Update 🥦

We have exciting news! Our new plushie manufacturer got back to us with the completed sample of our Rody plush!

The quality looks great, so with some very minor changes, we're moving forward with production.

The manu cited a ~35 day production time. We opted to ship by air to avoid further delays, so it should take ~7-10 days to ship the plushies to our shipping mod once they're ready.

Once production is complete we'll post another update and email a reminder for address changes!

in my humble opinion rddk is lowkey deku's best ship and it shows in their mbti. ENTP x INFJ is infamously known as a "golden pairing" because they're complete opposites of each other in ways that challenge, energize and inspire both parties, while still being fundamentally similar enough to understand each other easily.

One of the many ways this shows itself is the how INFJs are known as the most extroverted of the introverted functions while ENTPs are known as the most introverted of the extroverted functions, so the two are excellent at meeting each other half way and bouncing off of each other.

In Deku's case, his INFJ shows up strong in how formal he is around most people, even his closest friends, thanks to a mixture of anxiety and the desire the to please others and keep the peace, rather than risk the chaos & uncertainty that might come with revealing their overly emotional and passionate selves.

ENTPs, with their impish charm and sense of humor, have the uncanny ability to disarm INFJs completely. They are the INFJ's chill pill, excellent at making them at ease, safe to reveal all of their passion, their ideas, their personality. The ENTP's knack for chaos makes them appreciative of other people's uniqueness, which in turn makes them attracted to the basket of quirkiness that always come with INFJs.

That last scene of rddk laughing their asses off despite the world almost ending and the both of them casually bleeding from severe wounds is like the most INFJxENTP shit I've ever seen.

We've rarely, if ever, seen Deku treat such dramatic situations with such gaiety because while many people wouldn't, INFJs much less so. INFJs can be such serious, intense people with very set ideals of what's okay and what isn't. But with the ENTP at their side ready to crack the perfect joke at the perfect moment to break the tension, everything goes out the window and the INFJ realizes that things don't have to be so serious when actually they are quite fucking funny because what the hell. From the outside, it'd look as though the INFJ becomes a different person around the ENTP. In reality, that person has been there all along, but requires the right kind of energy to show themself.

Deku has a lot of other ships that are totally valid for all sorts of reasons but man you've gotta admit none of them unveil Deku the way homeboy Rody does~ <3
