The Best Retinol Duo (For Those Who Are Scared of Retinol)
For years “clinical” style and “Active” ingredient style products have seemed scary. Even for myself - a person who has been writing about beauty for over 12 years, but recently I took the plunge into retinol and I don’t regret it.
Sensitive skin, dry skin, and skin prone to eczema - it is no surprise I’ve kept away from Retinol for a while.  Retinol is a form of vitamin A and it’s an ingredient I’ve long wanted to incorporate into my anti-aging routine. It can help to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.  In addition, retinol has exfoliating properties, which can help to unclog pores and prevent breakouts (some people have great results with using retinol when they’ve got mila seeds around the eyes).Starting slow and avoiding products with too higher of a concentration - this is my ultimate skincare duo for those who are afraid of retinol but still want to enjoy the benefits.
Tumblr media
GOOD MOLECULES GENTLE RETINOL CREAM
With gentle in the name and a $8 USD price tag I had to try this retinol cream. Not to mention it’s virtually ALWAYS sold out which speaks volumes for its efficacy and importance as a retinol cream in your skincare routine. I use this approx. 3x a week after cleansing my skin.  The cream has a smooth, lightweight texture that absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a greasy residue and I’ve noticed a visible improvement in the glow of my skin and any uneven texture that lurks around. With a formulation of 0.1% retinol my dry sensitive skin is very tolerable to it.
Tumblr media
PEACE OUT SKINCARE RETINOL STICK & UNDER EYE BALM
This was the first Retinol product I ever tried and I LOVE it to pieces. As someone who is lazy with eye cream this is the perfect product to use - swipe it under the eye area and around the eye area a few times a week and see the results. As my skin starts to show signs of aging the biggest concern area I have is underneath my eyes and more specifically discoloration/dark spots. This has made a visible improvement in that area - I also like to swipe it over my forehead to help reduce the look of my fine lines. With micro-encapsulated retinol it’s not harsh like other retinol products and the smooth creamy balm feels nice on the eye area (and you don’t even need to tap it out under the eye area - talk about a lazy persons dream eye cream).
SUNSCREEN
If you’re using retinol I cannot stress the importance enough of wearing sunscreen. My go-to is the Ultraceuticals Mattifying Sunscreen with SPF 50+. If you’re in the states Supergoop Unseen Screen is a great option. You’ll also want to skip out on your AHA and BHA products like glycolic acid or salicylic acid to avoid skin irritation.

even sweaty your skin is beautiful! what’s your skincare routine?
EVEN SWEATY LMAO why thank you 🫶🏻 i’m not even wearing foundation in the sweaty pics 🥲 tbh it’s gotten waaaay better since i’ve dropped all the gimmicky stuff and started using only the products that have ingredients that have been scientifically proven to work (which are VERY few btw). what works best for me is the 3 night formula so like every night before bed i double cleanse and then 1st night exfoliate 2nd night retinol 3rd night moisturise and repeat! it’s been working like a charm for me personally 🫡 that and vitamin c + spf every morning!

a friday night for most mid twenties should be more exciting than yours, but you wouldn’t exchange yours for the world, not when you could order your favourite meal for dinner then cuddle with nanami watching a reality show he swears he doesn’t like but doesn’t miss an episode either.
“what a bitch” he gasps when it’s revealed the guy’s fiancé had a secret boyfriend, you hold back your laughter from his exaggerated reaction. his hand is on your back, rubbing it and playing with the elastic of your shorts without any malice while you lay on his chest.
after the episode ends he kisses your temple and gently rolls you over to remove himself from the couch.
“don’t go to bed too late” he says moving to the bedroom.
“yeah i’m going right after this one” you reply as a new show starts.
as promised, an hour later you stretch your back and turn off the tv moving to your shared suite and going straight to the bathroom.
“kento?” you call from the toilet, where you kept the door open, he hums in acknowledgement, “what time am i supposed to pick up yuuji from megumi’s?” you flush and go wash your hands and face, already beginning your skincare nightly routine.
“i’ll do it, don’t like the way fushiguro flirts with you” you look up from the sink watching him through the mirror, his reading glasses are on the tip of his nose and he licks his finger before turning the page of his book. such an old man…
“he’s just being friendly, love, besides it’s not like i flirt back” you justify.
“i know, i trust you, just don’t like him. megumi is a good kid though” you hum agreeing with your husband.
with a dot of retinol on the tip of your finger your walk barefoot to his side of the bed, leaning close to his face and gently applying the product under his eyes and where his wrinkles would be in a few years. would, since you’re trying your best to include a little bit of wrinkle prevention in your husband non-existent routine as well.
nanami doesn’t move his head, allowing you to put cream under his eyes, soft fingers tapping the skin behind his glasses, he said he trusted you but he close his eyes just out of precaution.
“i think that’s enough tapping, darling” he holds your wrist gently.
“just making sure your skin absorbs it well. in 10 years i don’t want people to think you’re my father” he watches your pretty ass march back to the sink in order to brush your teeth.
“i thought you liked calling me daddy” he resumes his reading listening to you choke, “everything alright in there?” he asks nonchalantly.
“y-yeah, just… caught me off guard with that, kento” he hears an additional ‘thankfully yuuji is not here’ and as soon as you’re done you apply some lip balm and brings it to him as well.
“no, that’s too glossy” he stops you.
“gojo uses this one too” he knows you say this with the intention of telling him it’s not too feminine but he now despised the little tube even more, “bad argument sorry” you hold his strong face and pepper his lips a couple of times to transfer the lip balm on your lips to his “there you go”
“that’s low even for you” he protests but doesn’t rub it off.
you make your way to your side of the bed, laying on your stomach with your head at the end of the bed catching your phone and scrolling through socials. your husband’s hand naturally finds the back of your thighs, rubbing the skin of your legs softly while reading.
“i scheduled my wax appointment for monday” you try to justify your cactus-like legs.
“you know i don’t mind” indeed, he keeps rubbing the back of his hand on your calf, finding comfort in the way your barely grown hairs trickle his skin, you murmur something about him being too good to you and focus back on your phone.
nanami finishes a chapter and quietly closes his book, he now pays full attention to you and the privileged view he has of your ass and the cute underwear peaking from the hem of your tiny shorts.
“darling? i think my lips could use a bit more of what’s on yours.”

Releasing the night body routine that’s helping with kp. My texture is like 95% gone and once that’s done, were fixing the appearance but that’s further down the line 🫂 progress requires consistency
Double cleansing my body with any bar soap (i use bag balm) using an italy towel. Then i use an african net sponge and switch on and off between salicylic and glycolic acid body wash by naturium. Twice a week i use the kp scrub from the naturium, back of arms and legs only. This double cleanse is for non sensitive areas only. Then out the shower still damp I spray and rub in naturie skin conditioning milk. Then lotion, I like creme de corps or the naturium body lotion. After that I oil with sweet almond. I forgot to add it lol but once a week i do retinol lotion on my legs in place of regular lotion, i don’t oil legs on these nights. I only do this at night when i have the time lol

Femme Fatale Beauty Playbook: Tips & Tricks To Feel Clean, Confident & Seductive Daily
Some beauty tips and tricks to feel your best daily.
Starting off with some miscellaneous advice: Coconut oil is the most versatile ingredient – for your hair, skin, nails, and even down there. Find your signature scent (apply it to your clothes instead of your skin whenever possible). Sugar scrubs are the answer to most flakiness or bumps on your skin. B vitamins, vitamin D, and omega-3s are essential to healthy hair, skin, and nails.
Hope this helps xx
Hair:
Shampoo your skull, condition the rest: Focus shampoo on your roots and work it through your scalp; concentrate conditioner on the ends and work your way up until you reach the base of your skull - around your upper ear lobe.
Always comb, never brush, your hair when wet: Gently use a wide-tooth comb, from root to tip, on wet hair to prevent breakage.
Use a special towel to dry your hair: My favorite is from Crown Affair (pricey for what it is but worthwhile in the long-term), but a Turbie Twist from the drugstore works infinitely better than a regular towel that weighs down and causes frizzy, damaged hair
Always use a heat protection spray before blow drying or straightening/curling your hair: (Briogeo and Oribe products are my love for all haircare products, including their blowdry creams – also love R +Co. for a heat protection styling mist).
Choose your hair ties wisely: Use seamless or silk hair ties exclusively to prevent breakage or awkward creases on your hair. Wear a silk scrunchie if you prefer. These hair ties from Amazon are my holy grail (only $7 for 100 hair ties!), and they come in a portable ziplock bag.
Skin:
Always use a disposable cloth when washing your face: Regular towels store bacteria and can cause breakouts too easily. These facial wipes from Amazon are my holy grail.
Wear sunscreen daily: Yes, even when you spend all day indoors. UV rays can interact with your skin through windows, too.
Niacinamide, Vitamin C Hyaluronic Acid, & Tea Tree Oil are among the few skincare ingredients almost everyone should consider incorporating into their skincare routine.
Learn the correct order to apply the products in your skincare routine: Cleanser, Toner, Serum, Eye Cream, Spot Treatment, Moisturizer, Sunscreen (or Retinol/Skin Oil at night).
Remember: From a dermatologist's perspective, your face starts (or ends) at your nipples. So, ensure you're cleansing, exfoliating, and applying sunscreen daily to your neck, chest, and décolletage to keep your skin smooth, youthful, and well-hydrated.
Vaseline is a great (affordable) alternative to traditional eye creams.
Sugar scrub your facial hair for a more gentle alternative to waxing (Combine sugar, lemon, and water). Laser hair removal, especially under your arms and your arms/legs is life-changing.
Follow up a warm shower with a dry brush and coconut oil for smoother, firmer skin.
Always apply a hydrating lip balm, mask, or Vaseline, hand cream, and moisturizer to your feet before going to sleep.
Layer complementary scents. Ensure the scents of body wash, lotion, and perfume work well together and don't clash.
Makeup:
Learn your skin undertones and educate yourself on color theory (I can share a post on this on the Post+ feed if you want some more educational content on these types of topics – I write about them for a living!).
Test any foundation, concealer, or face powder on your wrists, too.
Don't forget to color-match your bronze and blush: They can appear orange or muddy if you don't find a product with the correct shade or undertones for your skin type.
Invest in products that go on your face, brow products, and eyeliners. Great mascaras and lip products are easy to find at a drugstore or relatively cheap (I suggest Covergirl and d NYX, respectively).
Apply concealer in a triangle; don't dot it around your eyes for better coverage.
If you have oily skin (or it's humid outside), apply powder before your liquid/cream products. Set them again with a light powder to lock the color in.
Apply mascara from tip to base for the best lashes of your life: One coat on the tip, another from middle to tip, and the last coat from base to tip.
In a pinch, use a fragrance-free moisturizer and a q-tip to remove excess makeup (no more raccoon eyes).
Use a light nude or white eyeshadow underneath your brow to make them appear more defined.
Apply face powder under your eyes to help the eyeliner on your waterline last longer.
Create a simple daily makeup routine formula: 1 skin coverage (foundation/concealer), 1 skin color (a favorite blush or bronzer), brows, mascara, an eye-definer (eyeliner or shadow), and a signature "your lips but better" lip shade (1-2 shades deeper or lighter than your natural lip color): This formula provides you the basics, so you never have an excuse not to put yourself together for the day (5-10 minute routine here).
Discover your day-to-night hero product: Always keep a slightly deeper lipstick, a smoky eyeshadow, or liquid liner in your bag to transition your day look into the evening with one portable product.

Real Skincare Guide
Tumblr media
Level 1: breakouts, non-painful, a little scarring
Minimize your skincare routine, all you need is an oil cleanser (if you wear a lot of makeup) than a good foam cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Repeat the same routine before bed just without the sunscreen.
Wear sunscreen everyday!!!
Always apply more moisturizer than you think you need.
Drink a lot of water (2-3LT)
Get consistent sleep
Take a multi vitamins to balance your hormones. I recommend the One-A-Day Woman’s Vitamins (get a real pill cause the gummies don’t have enough iron)
Work on your stress (breathe work, meditate, journal, yoga, walks, going out with friends, therapy, etc)
Look at what body oils/shampoo/conditioner you are using. Could be your akin reacting poorly to something in there.
Level 2: consistant breakouts, acne, scarring
All the stuff for Level 1 apply.
Minimize your skincare routine and than slowly add back in stuff like hydrochloric acid and retinol. Having an elaborate skincare will just make your skin worse. First, focus on healing your skin barrier.
If you are a teenager, it just might be your hormones/growing pains. It will go away eventually.
Pimple Patches work and are especially good if you are trying to stop touching your face.
Wash your pillow cases every 1-2 weeks.
Try to sleep on your back.
If you pop a pimple than apply an antibiotic ointment.
No point in using anti-aging products if you are under the age of 25. It just won’t do anything for you.
Note that if you take in a lot of nicotine you will breakout. If you smoke and you have bad skin, it probably won’t improve unless you quit or lessen the dosage.
Level 3: painful consistent breakouts/acne/scars, redness, irritability, hurts,
Go see a dermatologist!
Acne is can be a real problem. If your acne is painful seek professional help.
If Accutane is recommended, than I would do it. Based only on the experiences of my friends, I have seen great results after a couple months. There are side effects and it is not for everyone but if a professional says you should than I might consider it.
No topical treatment is going to make those scars go away. You are going to need to laser resurfacing which is like this secret treatment rich people do to clear up their skin. It is expensive but really works. Beauty brands want you to think that the right cream can clear up your skin but if you have bad scarring you are only going to see real results with laser treatments
All of the above recommendations still apply
Your acne does not take away from your beauty or your worth as a human being. Remember that acne is normal and social media is fake.

HEWWO it's me back w an incredibly specific idea inspired by my Chapped Lips. Human au.
So I kinda headcanon Dream as an Incredibly Effortful kinda bitch, especially when it comes to grooming and bathing. He's very naturally beautiful! But he also has the full 15 step skincare routine, morning and night, showers in Exactly Optimal Temperature Water, has like 4 different hair products in at all times, sleeps with a satin pillowcase and has a Dyson Air Wrap kinda guy. Meanwhile Hob is the Effortlessly Beautiful Bastard who's done absolutely nothing to deserve it. Washes his face and body w bar soap, with Way Too Hot water, uses a 2 in one shampoo, basically just brushes his hair, brushes his teeth, and puts on deodorant and he's good, he's gorgeous. The fanciest he gets is shaving and using aftershave. Dream is furious bc this heathen doesn't even wear SUNSCREEN and yet he's so beautiful, glowing even. They are best friends.
Well one day Dream has had ENOUGH watching Hob wince and lick his chapped lips, just grabs him by the throat and applies his own very expensive lip balm. Hob tries to protest when Dream grabs him but Dream just squeezes and says "Keep Still" in the deepest most commanding voice Hob's ever heard from him. Right after Dream firmly instructs him Not to lick that off, he realizes that may not have been the Coolest thing to do and apologizes. Hob, half hard and trying to play it chill says it's fine, he doesn't mind Dream's fussing.
Dream takes this as total permission to do whatever he deems Necessary in the moment for Hob, from gently applying moisturizer and undereye cream to his face when he sleeps over at night to filing his nails and pushing back his cuticles. He's careful to never forcefully grab Hob like the first time (to Hob's disappointment) but he still can't help but get a little excited when Dream gets that tone and tells him to Sit Down and proceeds to blow dry his hair for him. Dream is also starting to really enjoy having Hob to fuss with and make pretty and take care of, and also have listen to him whenever he wants, as long as it's under the guise of plucking his eyebrows or gently applying hand lotion.
Yada yada this goes on and tension builds until they kiss! And they find out the other has been harboring this deeply hidden arousal over their beauty routine dynamic, have a laugh and have a fuck about it. They live hornily ever after enjoying the pampering.
Love u mwuah have a good Friday the 13th!!
AHHHH HAPPY BELATED FRIDAY 13TH BABYYY I'm literally obsessed with all of this holy shit!!!!
I feel the gentle dom Dream vibes strongly here. Just because Hob can look effortlessly adorable by washing his face with dishsoap and never even looking at an spf product, doesn't mean that he should. Clearly he needs someone to take care of him. Clearly Dream is the one for the job.
Hob is so good!! He's happy to let Dream apply beard oils and retinol cream and emollients for the scars that he never explains. He actively enjoys having his eyebrows plucked (although he does squirm around, so Dream has to hold him firmly by the jaw - if anything this makes him more wiggly, poor thing is just so damn horny).
When Hob asks why Dream is doing all this, Dream goes for a deadpanned "well I have to make sure that you're pretty enough that I still want to look at you in 30 years". Which... kind of comes out like he's suggesting that Hob is his husband or something?? Hob blushes and smiles and lets Dream paint a clay mask onto his face without saying a world.
After they finally, FINALLY have an actual conversation about their relationship, the beauty/self care routine only expands. Hob blushingly asks Dream to help him clean up ✨down there✨ - maybe it's an enema, maybe Dream bleaches Hob’s arsehole, maybe he just does a little gentle washing. Whatever the case it gets Hob in a very good mood for sex and he's the sweetest, most eager to please submissive man that Dream has ever seen.
It's such a joyous and intimate part of their relationship. And yes, Hob uses spf now <3

Reveal Your Bollywood Glow: Unveiling Celebrity-Inspired Skincare Secrets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This blog is going to be all about Indian & bollywood inspired products and skincare tips. If you also want a blog separately about Indian natural and authentic skincare or hair care I'll surely make it. 🫶
Know Your Skin Type : Identify your skin type - whether it's oily, dry, combination, or sensitive - to tailor your skincare routine effectively.
Cleanse Like a Star : Use a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil or Neutrogena to remove dirt and makeup and a oil cleaner is a must if you wear makeup daily. Opt for micellar water for a quick and effective cleanse on busy days. (But I don't really recommend it).
Exfoliate for Radiance : Incorporate a mild exfoliator like St. Ives Apricot Scrub or The Body Shop's Vitamin C Glow-Revealing Liquid Peel to slough off dead skin cells and reveal glowing skin. And my personal favorite coffee scrub from The Bombay shaving company. Don't exfoliate more than twice a week.
Hydration Is Key : Use a hydrating toner such as Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray for an instant boost of hydration or toner + mist from pilgrim works like magic (my fav 😭).
Targeted Treatments : Include a serum with ingredients like hyaluronic acid (for hydration) or vitamin C (for hyperpigmentation) if you are under 17 or 18 like me don't use vitamin c or if you want to use in very less %, I use 2% kojic acid for my uneven skin tone from pilgrim, it's very begniner friendly. (Always consult a dermatologist for your skincare don't go around seeing videos on insta and YouTube believing them). I recommend Minimalist if you want chemical bases serums.
If you are above 23 or 25 Incorporate a retinol-based cream like RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream for anti-aging benefits. (Got this tip from mumma for y'all 😭✨️)
Sun Protection Essentials : Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, such as La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Light Fluid, to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. More affordable and effective sunscreens from brands — dot and key, aqualogica, Dr. Seth and wish care.
Overnight Nourishment: Use a hydrating overnight mask like Laneige Water Sleeping Mask to replenish moisture while you sleep. Incorporate a facial oil like The Ordinary's Rose Hip Seed Oil for added nourishment and radiance.
DIY Treatments Inspired by Bollywood:
- Try a turmeric, gram flour and yogurt face mask inspired by Priyanka Chopra for glowing skin.
- Use aloe vera gel like Deepika Padukone for its soothing and hydrating properties. (MY fav bolly actress btw 😭❤️)
Lifestyle Tips for Healthy Skin : Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day people are not stupid that they are going around telling you to drink water, IT'S A MUST!. Incorporate antioxidant-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, and green tea into your diet for overall skin health.
Some of my fav brands (mostly available in india) : dot and key, Foxtale, pilgrim, minimalist, st. Botanica, organic harvest and aqualogica!
Fav brand released by a bollywood actress: Hyphen by Kriti Sanon, their lip balm can even beat Rhode's lip balm istg- and their sunscreen 🔛🔝.
Channel your inner Bollywood diva and achieve a radiant, flawless skin with these skincare tips and product recommendations. Let your skin glow like a star!

My Care Kit
I've hesitated posting about this because I know it's not hard for this to get to the wrong side of the site - because even though there's been an awesome shift in the conversation about how care can look at different levels of functioning, we're still not really there yet. So if you're rude in the comments, tags, or reblogs, expect to blocked. Cause I just don't have it in me.
With that out of the way, I wanted to talk about what's been allowing me to be infinitely more regular with skincare, grooming, and to a lesser degree dental routines - my care kit.
Tumblr media
It's not mindblowing or original. I basically just took all the stuff I was storing in the bathroom and store it in my bedroom to use there. I'm sure plenty of people have figured this out before me but it took me a minute to realize how helpful this is.
So what's in here?
Skincare
CeraVe AM Moisturizer
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid
Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum
CereVe "in the Tub" - Moisturizing Cream
Differin Gel*
*Differing Gel is something I only use when I take this kit to the bathroom as it's important to wash your hands after using a retinol
"But you're supposed to use it on wet skin!" - yeah I know. I keep a small spray bottle in here to wet my skin before applying
"But that can mold!" - yeah I know. It's a small one and I use it up in a few days before I need to refill it. I try to clean it regularly too.
But ultimately done is better than none. I accept some risk in order to make this accessible to me. My skin is no longer so dry it's cracking and getting infected. Thank god.
Grooming
Native Deodorant - Black Oak + Amber
Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab & Sphere and Sundry - Her Eyes That Were Full of Shining Perfume Oil
Kat Von D - Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in "Witches"
Besame Cosmetics - Black Cake Mascara
Tweezerman Tweezers
I don't use all of this all of the time but I appreciate having the option. Sometimes you know you're not getting out of bed but you'd like to look nice. Sometimes looking nice helps you get out of bed.
Not pictured but I keep a small mirror on my shelf near where I store this bag. I use that for make up and tweezing. When tweezing, I wipe the edges off with a tissue then toss it the next time I get up. I also rinse it the next time I use it at the sink. Not perfect, I know. But it helps.
I do have a facial razor in here, but I only use that at the sink at the moment. I also want to swap from disposable to reusable soon. But baby steps and all that.

And now for the part that will horrify some people and be saving grace to others.
Disposable pre-pasted toothbrushes
Sea to Summit Collapsible Cup with Lid
I won't be accepting comments on this. It's personal and I hesitated to share this because I know it's polarizing. But I know there's something like me out there for whom this would help a ton.
I have a horrible reaction to most toothpastes. I'm talking brush my teeth for 2 minutes, shitting on the toilet for multiple hours afterwards bad. It is miserable and makes me terrified to brush my teeth. I also have just always struggled with it and been shamed a lot for it.
These dang pre-pasted toothbrushes for some reason I do not react to. Idk if it's the fact I toss them after or the paste they're using somehow doesn't have the thing I'm reacting to but I can finally brush my teeth without unbearable cramps afterward.
I recommend them for people who are depressed, bedbound, or otherwise can't get to the sink to brush their teeth though. For me it falls into the camp of medical waste - which no one should be shaming anyone for - if it's this or nothing.
The collapsible cup will also put some people off. What I do is spit into the cup, cap it, then empty and clean it whenever I get up next. Gross? Maybe. But it works. I've not had issues with smell this way and since it's capped, there's no way to spill it if I lose my balance or accidentally kick it.
Miscellaneous
Holotaco Nail Kit
Badger Sleep Balm
The nail kit was a gift and boy oh boy is it nice. You don't need this one but something like this is a godsend. It is so nice to be able to clip nails back, file them, and clean them up without needing to like make a session of it in the bathroom. I'm considering adding my fav base coat, nail polish, and top coat so I can more easily paint them too.
Badger Sleep Balm has become a part of how I wind down and also how I help recover from panic attacks. I've taught myself some basics of self massage and use this to make it go a little easier. I really recommend learning. There are some good videos on youtube and I get fewer cricks in my neck now.
Conclusion
I really hope this helps someone out. Maybe this doesn't suit your particular use case but I hope it serves as an example that sometimes you're not keeping your desired routines because the environment needs a redesign and sometimes that requires thinking outside the box a little.

Night Skincare Routine 🌙
Tumblr media
A night skincare routine is essential for maintaining healthy skin as it allows your skin to recover, repair, and rejuvenate while you sleep. Here's a basic night skincare routine to follow <3
Makeup Removal/Cleansing
Start by removing any makeup using a gentle makeup remover or micellar water. Ensure all traces of makeup are thoroughly removed from your face.
Cleansing
Wash your face with a gentle cleanser suitable for your skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, etc.). Gently massage the cleanser onto your skin in circular motions and rinse with lukewarm water. Exfoliation (2-3 times a week)
Exfoliate
Exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores. Use a chemical exfoliant (like AHAs or BHAs) or a gentle scrub. Be cautious not to over-exfoliate, as it can irritate the skin.
Toning
Apply a toner to balance your skin's pH levels and remove any remaining impurities. Toners also prepare your skin to better absorb the products applied afterward.
Serums/Treatments
Apply targeted serums or treatments based on your skin concerns. This could include vitamin C serums for brightening, hyaluronic acid for hydration, retinol for anti-aging, or niacinamide for pore refinement. Pat the serums gently onto your skin.
Eye Cream
Use an eye cream to moisturize and treat the delicate skin around your eyes. Dab a small amount with your ring finger and gently pat it around the orbital bone.
Moisturizer
Apply a nourishing night cream or moisturizer suited for your skin type. Night creams tend to be richer and provide intense hydration. Massage it into your skin in upward motions.
Face Oil (Optional)
If your skin tends to be on the drier side, you might consider applying a facial oil to lock in moisture. Choose oils like jojoba, rosehip, or argan, and apply a few drops, pressing them gently onto your skin.
Lip Care
Don’t forget your lips! Apply a hydrating lip balm or treatment to keep your lips moisturized overnight.
Additional Tips
Sleeping on a clean pillowcase can also contribute to healthier skin. If you're using any prescription treatments or specific skincare products, it's best to consult with a dermatologist for personalized advice.
Consistency is key in skincare routines. Stick to your routine for a few weeks to see noticeable improvements in your skin.
Remember, everyone's skin is unique, so it's essential to tailor your skincare routine based on your skin type, concerns, and any sensitivities you may have. If you're unsure about certain products or steps, consult a dermatologist or skincare professional for guidance.

Ok first of all thank you so much for writing the fics and taking your time. I’m honestly so tired of other people and not keeping their opinions to themselves… ignore them your perfect in my eyes ✨
Also ima need you to drop more of your skincare routine/ products because I’ve never had my skin so 🤌🏼
That moisturizer you recommended to someone else for dry skin is saving me 😩
HI BABYYYY
Thank you my darling angel 😭 ngl this made me feel better — it’s been hell at work this week so I haven’t written a ton (plus, y’know, dealing with bullshit).
IM SO GLAD MY RECS HELPED!! I got another anon asking about my skincare routine and it got buried, so I’ll re-share — especially since I’ve made a few changes!
AM routine
Garnier’s micellar water to cleanse (pink cap — I think the blue and green leave a residue and I don’t like it)
Byoma’s balancing face mist
Natrium’s niaciminacide acid serum OR vitamin C (never together!)
Cosrx snail mucin essence (this is a winter step, just to make sure my skin stays nice and hydrated)
Byoma gel eye cream (the de-puffing one)
Byoma gel moisturizer
Beauty of joseon sunscreen (SPF 50)
PM routine
I start by double cleansing — it’s SUPER important to double cleanse with an oil-based cleanser especially if you wear sunscreen!!
Cleanser (1) — natrium’s oil balm/makeup remover with a warm washcloth
Cleanser (2) — I alternate every other day with youth to the people’s superfood cleanser (I just got it and I’m obsessed) and panoxyl (10%). I’ve also used versed’s jelly milky cleanser on non-panoxyl days, and I love that, too!
Byoma’s balancing face mist toner OR beauty of joseon’s ginseng toner (I alternate)
Natrium’s hyaluronic acid serum (apply while face is still wet from toner — otherwise it won’t absorb properly!)
*optional* face mask — usually a Dr Jart’s sheet mask, 2-3 times a week
Versed’s gentle pressed retinol serum
Cosrx snail mucin essence
Cosrx snail mucin 92 all in one cream
Versed rich skin soak moisturizer
An eye cream from No 7 but idk which one it is — brightening??
And I sleep on a silk pillow case! That helps with skin stuff (and hair)
happy skincare!

How can I get my skin silky and smooth and soft? My skin is always soo dried
As someone who has dermatitis I can relate to having super dry skin too! Luckily there are some amazing products that can be used to treat dry skin. 🫧
CeraVe, Cetaphil and La Roche Posay are my top 3 brands when it comes to looking for cleaners + moisturizers that treat dry skin.
Use a moisturizing cream instead of a moisturizing lotion for better results.
Ingredients are your best friend when it comes to treating dry skin. AHA, BHA, Retinol, Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide are my faves for dry skin. These ingredients can be found in The Ordinary + Good Molecules’ product line.
Daytime skincare routine for dry skin: Cleanse, Serum (Vitamin C), Moisturizer and Sunscreen.
Nighttime skincare routine for dry skin: Double cleanse, Tone, Targeted Serum (AHA + BHA) and Moisturize.
Try snail mucin! As crazy as it sounds snail mucin has helped keep my skin super soft. Peach Slices and COSRX are my brand recommendations for snail mucin.
Laneige lip masks are perfect for dry lips!
Keep lip balm, moisturizers and hand creams with you when you’re out and about.
Body creams work better than body lotion for dry skin.
Use a sugar body scrub for exfoliation!
Dry scalps are also common with dry skin. Living Proof as an amazing dry scalp serum + First Aid Beauty also released their dry scalp/dandruff hair products a while ago.
Stock up on dry skin products during the fall + winter seasons!!
Get a facial with an esthetician to work on dry skin! Hydrafacials are an amazing investment!
Visit a health care provider if your concerns about dry skin worsen!
