Hey y’all! Happy Turkey Trot day! Also I ran my first race ever. First time signing up for one post high school, first time racing a 10k!
It was a great experience, being around people all doing the same thing, whether they wanted to or not lol. If I’m being honest with myself I wish I went harder to go sub 1-hour but there will be plenty of more races in my future. Course was pretty, but at some points it was pretty tight. I mean I was fine because I wasn’t going for a specific place, but IF I did want to past people during those times I’d basically be pushing them out of the way, which wasn’t the vibe.
Also I was hoping to meet some runners but I quickly realized that wasn’t going to happen. Everyone came with their family, stayed with them, and left. Which isn’t surprising given the holiday. Just felt a little lonely being the only one without someone else there.
Race done, can’t wait for the next one

a few snippets of the last few eves. My birthday passed this week and in true Scorpio form I took the day to myself. I have one last birth before I jet off into the sunset and into the arms of my family. I am so desperate to be surrounded in hugs, but it feels like this time of the year is always so full that it passes so quickly and I want nothing more than to savor it.
my social calendar has been booming and it’s not in my nature to be so filled to the brim with joy but it’s a stark contrast to last years winter so I cannot complain.
last night I booked my accommodations in Amsterdam and booked the Anne Frank House, it’s been a lifelong bucket list item so when I say I sobbed…I mean it. I can’t believe it’s less than a month away. Still haven’t a clue where I’ll be staying in France but I imagine it’ll fall into place as it always does.
I can’t believe this is life…wow. So so so grateful.
P.s I finished my scarf at knitting circle this week!!!!! It’s finished 🤯

ran today! and lifted :3
i ran about 3 miles throughout my workout 💪💪💪
i had the entire gym to myself so i got hella excited!!! i tried so many new things cus i wasnt as self conscious.
i also was reminded of the effects of music on how well a workout can be because i listened to the soundtrack of a show i’ve been binging and GOODNESS GRACIOUS IT GOT ME SO HYPED!!!!! i think, using this knowledge, i’m gonna listen to my brain when it says to choose certain music that i’m looping, because WOW!!!
i even tried upping the weights for my lifting exercises!!!! i’m pretty small, so working on lifting 20lbs (for each individual arm) horizontally was really really fun!!! i could only do 3 reps but it felt great!!!! (idk what the exercise is called lmao)
anyways, i’m cooling down now >:3

I've been really struggling recently to get into any kind of routine. I'm not sure if it's down to my ADHD, anxiety or just not being able to find the right one yet, but I've only even managing to stay on the right track for a few days at a time.
Today and yesterday I went for two big walks instead of forcing myself to the gym and I did a lot of thinking. I came to two conclusions.
1. I prefer being outside for long periods of time than being in the gym for short peruods
2. I want to be a person who runs
I feel good having come to these two realizations, and like I can realign my routines and goals to match this. Hopefully I can master my self discipline this time and really stick to it.

It was a super windy 4 miler today, I ran the first mile and a half, fast walked to mile 2, jogged to 2.5, and then ran the last mile!

It's easier to get it done since I'm on the dirt instead of concrete, and my shins were pretty okay today! I'm gonna lift some weights, ice and then head to work.... And then hopefully ice again after my shift ☺️☺️

Yesterday I hopped on the bike after work for about 20 minutes. I asked my coworker how long an active recovery session should be. His words were “think of it as a self love session.” So as soon as I wanted to be done I stopped.
This morning was speed work. Since intervals were last week I did a Fartlek run this week. Definitely happy with it. I think it’s my favorite type of speed work. And like a mad man I hit a leg session afterwards.

the last several weeks have been flying by filled with goodness. my gratitude is overflowing even as I sit here covered in tissues and DayQuil battling my first cold of the year.
I’m still so blissed out by all the goodness in this era. In a few short weeks I’ll be hopping around the “Christmas Circuit” and I can proudly declare I’ve booked accommodations for two cities out of … quite a few lol but I’m taking this sick time to get cracking down!
In other news, I ran my first race since the crash. And surprised myself by placing 3rd in my category while sick! I was stunned and overjoyed. It makes my hopes of finally taking my shot at NYC 2025 feel more tangible if only because I’m learning my body post-crash more and more. I have decided to do the 9+1 while settling any balances from my last bid when the crash happened :/
The tiny humans have been around me nonstop hence the cold but I’ve been grateful. They never cease to teach me patience, joy and humility. Noelle came to me after the race and said “Titi your nose is wet” and she was absolutely right. This week I baked pies, cookies, and a failed croissant attempt but the effort was there.
I can’t believe I blinked and life became rosy again. there’s always things, as is life but they feel muted in comparison to the goodness that has taken residence here.
I’ll be holed up waiting out this cold then wrapping up before flying over the pond.
Up next!
• I have to apply to begin my pre-reqs for my doctorate in the fall :/ let’s all pray to the Goddess of wisdom for me
• I have my cousin visiting me this winter (WOOOHOOO!) he’s never been to NYC so it’s a fun packed week waiting to happen. I know every hot chocolate stand we are going to already. We will also go to a Broadway show and see all the Christmas views. I love NYC in the winter so it’s fun to share it.
• I have to renew my certifications for birth, and postpartum (death tbd but I’ll deal with that in the spring)
• I will be heading overseas having finished EVERY contract which is simply beautiful and exciting to have time without worry
• I must move all of my high school books that I didn’t know existed until this week to my apartment in NYC

Last big effort workout before nationals!! 🤓
(5 minute tempo before this)
~ 2 chill strides then a 400 (60 stand) {1:13}
~ 3x(1200, 400) 1min jog between reps, 4 minute stand in between reps
~ {4:04, 1:18}, {4:00, 1:17}, {3:56, 1:11}
~ honestly really liked this workout and lots of track 5k pace feels, felt smooth and pretty chill for a lot of it but the gears were goin :). Some of the times from my watch might be a lil slower bc of when I click my watch off but close enough. Happy w today 🙂
