It was a picture of her mother when she was sixteen. The scrappy huntress had a messy pixie cut and flashed a scrappy grin as she yanked a Gheist out of a statue with her bare hands. Ruby’s corset was a little tattered as belts hung from it while her legs were covered by black leggings and red spanks under her combat grin. Meanwhile her army style boots were deep in a Beowulf’s skull.

Jaune:That’s your mother hyped up on adrenaline and giving everyone a heart attack.

Carmine:Yeah but like…She looks so hardcore.

Jaune:Because she is. You should see the photos where she had those nose ring studs and ear cuffs. Went sleeveless for awhile too.

Carmine:…*looks left”

The hardcore woman was currently dancing to Maria’s old albums in the kitchen, her high heels tapping on the tile floor will her red and black dress swayed with her hips; much like her long glorious hair that was kept at bay with a rose scrunchie near her lower back. She noticed her daughter’s glance, waved happily like a corgi, then went back to dancing as she baked muffins.

Carmine:What the heck changed?

Jaune:Nothing. She’ll still buy those if she feels like it. It’s just after she roundhouse kicked Salem and saved the world she looked at us and said, “y’know….I guess I’ll learn to walk in heels.” Then her and Weiss became the world’s next obsession.

Carmine:Including you?

Jaune:Oh no. I’m the weirdo that saw a quirky girl make a crater in the courtyard and think “Ay she’s neat.”

Ruby:They say crime doesn’t pay, but it should be studied how much mileage a man got from sneaking into Beacon and befriending a klutz with poor social skills.

Jaune:Trust the process.

Ruby:Amen to that!

You know what's really funny to me, If in the finale of V9 Ruby get a costume change. Then everyone else in team RWBY+J, next season right away they get their own costume change. Because that would be like the same thing that happened with Oscar in V6. He also got a costume change ahead of everyone else.

What is rosegarden?

hiyaaa peeps i've been gone for a while from the rg community, i said that i wouldn't involve myself too much within it but there is something that has been on my mind lately and wanted to recheck. Basically, It has occurred to me that within the rosegarden community, we don't always describe rg the same way.  That's why I've decided to do this survey to see if I'm right in thinking that within the rg shipper community, we need some serious labelling about what exactly we ship within it. 

This survey will be 100% anonymous, so feel free to choose what you really identify with among the different dynamics you will have to choose. Also keep in mind that in no way are implications such as ace, aroace, aromantic or demiromantic rg thrown out the window; these can still exist within the dynamics that are shown!  With that said ! Ladybug Week Day 5: Family Photo

"Dear dad,

How are things there in Patch? I spoke to Yang the other day and she told me that you finally decided to plant strawberries in the garden. Did you wait for me to leave the house for this, old man? I'll still eat everything when I get there. Wait for me!

Things here at Minagerie are calm. I finally managed to adapt to the climate. Living close to the sea helped. Sometimes I set up a hammock on the balcony to read, enjoying the breeze. It's like living in a tropical paradise.

Blake is making a lot of progress in WhiteFang after gaining independence from of Mistral. She still has some conflicts here and there, but overall she is much more relaxed. I've been nagging her not to work so much. Sometimes when I'm on the balcony, she comes to sleep with me and we stay together enjoying the tranquility of these peaceful times.

The girls are looking forward to their vacation in Patch. Dahlia wants to eat the strawberries as much as I do. She may take a lot after Blake, but she's still my daughter. A professional cookie eater. And Cerise can't wait to hunt the little Deathstalkers with you. I'm trying to reassure Blake about this part that she's not in danger, but she is a bit overprotective and our clumsy little fox doesn't cooperate either. I swear this girl has unlimited energy. She's decided that she's going to be as rebellious as Blake was when she was a child.

We tried to send you a photo, but it didn't go exactly as planned. I got distracted for a minute and suddenly Cerise was covered in mud after trying to hunt a frog. But I can proudly say that she managed to catch it and luckily it wasn't poisonous (Blake made sure of that). We took the picture anyways. Don't mind Dahlia's face, she was scared of the frog.

I miss you, dad. Soon I'll be there giving you work again. Take care, old man.

Dahlia and Cerise are ladybug kids created by me and my girlfriend in our RWBY RP's. Dahlia is the biological daughter, two years older. She looks like a mini-Ruby with Blake's personality. Her cat ears are folded, like a Scottish Fold cat. Cerise is a fox faunus who was adopted as a baby after being saved by Ruby from an arson attack in a faunus orphanage. She is very energetic and rebellious (she only obeys her mother's authority, most often Blake). Her name is a reference to cherries.

Part 2 of Ruby Rosehearts

So Ruby!Rosehearts grows up pretty happy with their dad (and maybe a step-parent who cares for them, but your choice), sure they miss their older brother, Riddle, a lot but they write lots of letters to him talking about how their week went, asking about how they are doing, and other stuff.

Sure he never writes back but it's fine, it’s fine, they understand that their mother has him study pretty hard that he can't write them back or call them so they understand.

They understand even if it does hurt...

But hey! They have some pretty amazing news to write to him so he's bound to write or even call them for this!

They studied their butt off and managed to impress Headmage Ambrose to get accepted into Royal Sword Academy early with Che'nya their bestie!

What's more is that they became a Dorm Leader as soon as they got in! They were so excited even if they were terrified of it too so they ask their brother for any advice about how to be a good dorm leader as he is one too.

Only Riddle never replies or calls them.

‘It's fine.’ Ruby!Rosehearts thinks to themselves as they write a letter to their brother about their week and ask how he is.

‘It's fine.’ They tell themselves this as they try to stop an argument that a couple of their dorm mates are having.

“It's fine.” They tell Che'nya and Trey when they ask if they really are ok with Riddle not responding to them.

Someone tells Team RWBY and JNPR that they're proud of them, how they've grown, how they did the best they could, and that they're amazing.

(well, you never did ask for this to be fluff... I apologize now for the heart break)

“Ruby, you and your friends have grown up so much since you last attended Beacon. I am so proud of you.” 

Ruby froze in her tracks as the ruins of Beacon loomed over her and her friends. She watched from the corner of her eyes as grimm started to make their way out of the shadowy ruins, growling and howling as they circled around everyone and kept their distance. Her arms shook as she couldnt believe who was standing right in front of her, alive and well. “M-mom…” 

Summer smiled and walked closer to her daughter. “You all have done well, but now, its time for you all to rest.” 

Ruby slowly lowered her scythe and took a deep breath as she watched Summer walk closer. “You’re… you’re alive.” 

“I am, and its time for you all to come home-” 

“That isnt mom, Rubes,” Yang said as she took a step forward, gauntlets ready. “This has to be a trick!”

Summer stopped for a moment and eyed Yang with a wicked grin. “But I am your mother, firecracker. You used to call me super mom, slayer of monsters and baker of cookies.” 

Ruby turned to Yang, watching her sister shake at hearing those words. “Yang?” 

“Mom..” Yang said as she lowered her arms. “But… how?” 

“How am I still alive?” Summer made her way to Yang and pulled her into a hug. “I made a deal with Salem. My life in her service, and you and Ruby would be spared. No one would go after you, no one would hurt you. And so, I kept a distant eye on the two of you and your friends. You all had been amazing… until you decided to undermine every single one of my actions to keep you all safe.” 

Ruby took a step back as she watched Yang push Summer away and break out of her hug. “You’re… you’re not really mom. Mom would never-” 

“I would do anything to keep you safe, Rosebud. Now, I ask you one last time: please stop fighting and take your friends home. Everything will be over soon and we can finally be together again as a family.” 

Ruby raised her scythe and took a shot at Summer, clipping her shoulder. “I have to stop Salem.” 

Summer winced and let out a heavy sigh as she gripped her shoulder, silver eyes almost turning black as night as her motherly tone turned rough and annoyed. “Then so be it.” 

“Ruby, watch out!” Jaune called as he braced himself to block a beowolf from attacking from behind. 

The grimm swarmed around Ruby and her friends, ursa and beowolves rushing at them from a single command from Summer. Ruby cut through grimm after grimm as she watched her friends do the same. Glyphs from Weiss surrounded everyone to funnel the grimm to a single opening while Yang and Nora took the front to keep the grimm back. Blake and Ren nearly blended into the shadows as they took their positions in the ruins of Beacon to pick off as many grimm as they could from a distance. 

Ruby turned her focus onto Summer once more as she watched her mother fade away into rose petals. “Why would you work with her? She wants to destroy humanity!” 

“She doesnt want to destroy humanity,” Summer said as she faded away, her voice trailing in the wind as she moved. “She wants to save us. And I’ll do anything to keep you safe.” 

Ruby let out a yell as she slammed her scythe into an incoming ursa and turned around to watch her friends. The glyphs had started to crack, the dust in Jaune’s shield was starting to flicker as the dust crystals energy was starting to be used up, and Nora and Yang were starting to get pushed back by the endless wave of grimm. With a soft whisper, Ruby closed her eyes to calm herself to remember the words she had been told by Maria. “I need to protect my friends, the ones I love and care for.” 

Summer watched from the ruined tower as a wave of light washed over the ruins and froze the grimm around her daughter. A smile crossed her lips as she leaned against the frozen wyvern that still stood atop the tower. “I really am proud of you and your friends, Ruby. But its time to stop playing hero and rest. It’ll all be over soon.”

Alright time for some fun RWBY: Amity Ruby Facts!

- Ruby is the daughter of Qrow Branwen and Summer Rose. Niece of Tai Xiao Long and Raven Branwen. Cousin of Yang Xiao Long, Adam Taurus, and Vernal Branwen. Great (x5 I believe) Granddaughter of Anna Rose and Great (x5) Grandniece of Amber Xiao Long.

- Before having Ruby, Summer’s favorite cookie was a sugar cookie but during her pregnancy with Ruby, it became chocolate chip.

- Ruby designed and built Crescent Rose at 14-years-old with the help of Qrow.

- Ruby is a mechanic at heart and can probably fix anything if given the right set of wrenches.

- Ruby built Yang’s robotic arm and has helped work on her bikes numerous times along with doing repairs on Ember Celica.

- The things Ruby loves the most are chocolate chip cookies, her family, her friends, weapons, and Hunters.

- Ruby is a total fan girl and was thrilled to get signature of Glynda Goodwitch after preventing Roman Torchwick from stealing dust.

- Ruby would later take on a reluctant partnership with Roman for information on the ins and outs of Vale.

- Although enlisted in the Vale Military, Ruby was personally assigned to home front mechanic work and special operations by Professor Ozpin. She never fought on the front lines of the war until the Battle of Mountain Glenn.

- Ruby often heard voices slightly whispering in her head, she originally brushed it off as her imagining to hear the voice of her mom, but later realized that she was in fact hearing her mom. She had become the Fall Maiden.

- Ruby took note that it seemed that there seemed to be little to no Silver Eyed Warriors in the ranks of Mantle and Mistral compared to Vale. Almost like they all were going to Beacon before the war started…

- Ruby hopes to own an Atlan (everyone else says Atlesian but she’s a purist on her tech and weapons) Paladin 290 one day.

- Ruby has been given nicknames such as Rubes, Rosebud, Rose Petal, Petal, and Dolt

- Ruby is best friends with Penny, who assisted her along with Yang, Nora, and Pyrrha in getting Weiss out of Solitas after the war.

-Ruby is AroAce, has Autism and ADHD, and uses she/her pronouns.

Ruby and Oscar are like foils to each other, but In the weirdest way. I can't stop thinking about it.

My thoughts under the cut

For Oscar the only way for him to be saved, and break the cycle of Ozcarnations is for him to go on this journey. To defeat Salem and reunite the world. If he just stayed home on his farm. He would eventually merge with Oz anyway; And in a way die. Or at least he won't be Oscar anymore. It is some sort of weird ego death at the very least. (I Still don't know how the merge works) So going on this journey is the only way for Oscar to have a chance of remaining as Oscar.

Ruby on the other hand going on this journey to defeat Salem is not breaking any cycles. She is literally following in her mother's footsteps, and Following in the footsteps of all the other silver eyes warriors; who decided to fight the Grim, and go up against Salem. If ruby was to stay home; and Never became a Huntress. Their would had been a way less likely chance that she would ever be noticed by Salem, and a less likely chance to meet a disastrous end. Just Like the other silver eyes warriors. She would had a chance to live a peaceful life. (If Salem didn't destroy the world first that is, but That doesn't matter.)

Oscar was raised on a farm. He never met any Huntsman or huntresses until he met ruby and the gang.

Ruby was born into a family of all huntsman and huntresses. Her mother with a Huntress, Her father was an ex-huntsman that Teach kids to become huntsman, and Huntresses at the school she went to. Her uncle is also a huntsman who is working for the Headmaster. This is the culture she grew up in, and Oscar grew up far way from that culture.

Oscar didn't want to go on this journey. He was scared, and Frustrated, But over time he adjusted, and Grew into his role.

Ruby was all gung-ho at the beginning of this journey. Jumping in with both feet. Now she is confused, and Frustrated and as of v9 Doesn't even know if she even want to be a Huntress anymore.

I have no idea where I'm going with this. I just think their foils. And That ruby needs a hug.

Gonna isekai another one of my OCs into RWBY and no one can stop me >:)

Starting with Maxwell (World Citizen aka the clone book)

Will draw him later in his RWBY design but here's an old pic of him and his other bros (he's the smiley one next to the sus one in the middle)

- Aura colour: White

- Semblance: Mirror Mirror (placeholder, needs a better name) - Maxwell can call upon his dead brothers through reflections. He usually summons his predecessor Kane for advice or the late security officer and revolutionary, Roark for protection.

- Allusion: The Butterfly

Not based on any real books but in his world there's a fairytale about a thorny garden. A snake that stalks the garden wants to reach a rosebud above the thorns but he's too small. He comes across a small caterpillar who he chooses to befriend instead of eating him because the caterpillar mistakes him for another caterpillar. The snake doesn't make it (he grows too big and dies from the thorns), but the caterpillar makes it when he becomes a butterfly.

- Personality: Amiable, caring and always seems to have a cheery disposition. He's quite receptive to other's emotions, always reading people and knows how others are feeling. He seems weak and harmless, but he can use his empathy as a weapon. He can be pretty manipulative and ruthless too. He'd do anything to protect his brothers, but that gets challenged later when he falls for a certain top-sider.

Story stuff

- Like a few years before the start of the show, the entire underground clone country of Arkadia just pops out of the anarcho-capitalist hellscape of their original world then pops into Remnant somewhere around here:

- Arkadia gets aid from Vale. They quickly have to establish themselves in this new hostile environment. Fast forward to the events of the show and they have state-run dust mining companies that rival the main players.

- Max is a CEO for OphrysTech, a Geothermal Energy and mining tech company. He also doubles up as an ambassador representing Arkadia.

- Arkadia supplies Dust to everyone they can sell to in exchange for meds, vaccines, weapons and more. They have a decent relationship with Vale, Atlas and Menagerie.

- In secret, Maxwell has cut a deal with White Fang, supplying them with Dust and tunnel access to help them in their efforts to attack mining competitors like the SDC. This started happening after all the other mining companies tried using their own dirty tactics against Arkadia's dust mining operations.

- Maxwell does care about the Faunus and believes that they deserve equality (but not to the extreme extent that Arkadians are subjected to a la cloning and absolute control to crush individuality). He believes that if everyone wants to survive against the Grimm, they must all work together.

- After Adam takes over, Maxwell -fully aware of what happened to Sienna- has to renegotiate a new deal for the new White Fang Leader. As agreed with Sienna previously, he offers to help improve White Fang's image after the Fall of Beacon by giving publicity to the Faunus plight and showing what the White Fang has done to help the Faunus, how the majority of humans turn a blind eye to their suffering and so much more. All with the help of Arkadian propagandists. Of course, all Arkadian involvement is kept under wraps so as to maintain their relationships with the other countries.
