So I know you wrote it in 2019 but im curious based off of Pete's stage designs for tourdust if that spurred any thoughts of the stage design for the Stumped Musical in your musical au fic 🐉

I wrote that musical fic very early on in my FOB fandom. I feel like it might have been the first long fic I wrote for them? And the longer I spend on FOB fandom the more I'm like, "God, Pete Wentz would looooove to write a musical" hahahaha. And also Patrick Stump would ALSO love to write a musical, I think. So I have no idea what is holding them up! Except I do think I'm probably right that Pete would write something completely incomprehensible that would totally make sense to him and to Patrick and to absolutely nobody else. And then they WOULD send a librettist in and Pete would hate it the way he hated having an editor on his actual book (another reason I love Pete Wentz lol). Like, Pete only wants one beta and that's Patrick, no one else is allowed to edit Pete Wentz. So I think, sadly, we never WILL get a musical out of them.

But! I actually think Pete has such wide-ranging interests and likes that it's impossible to predict how he would go for stage design. Tourdust is extremely whimsical and I adore that, I love how it's over-the-top and full of life and color and drama and I think that would suit their Morpheus retelling well, he would light the Underworld so luridly fabulously, I think. But then I think of, like, the aesthetic of Youngblood Chronicles, which feels on the other end of the spectrum in some ways, like, still over-the-top but in the opposite anti-whimsical direction lol. Like, YBC has the most ridiculous things happen but they're all dressed up in this hard debauched tone that doesn't land as softly as the Tourdust stuff does. And their videos likewise run the gamut in a lot of ways.

That said, if I had to put my money on it, I think Pete Wentz leans more whimsical Tourdust in general. He might love horror movies and sci-fi and stuff, but I think inside he's just full of pink cotton candy and bubblegum at heart. Like, most of their videos are light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek, comical affairs and I think Pete would go that way for staging my fictional musical, it would all be a tad too much in a fun way.

I spent way too long considering this entirely fictional question lol but thank you for it!

I made these when I was still learning how to do swap mods…so back in April 2020. I thought it would be funny to recreate Cinematic Story Mode, making it more Shadaloo-centric with an emphasis on F.A.N.G and M. Bison. I was going to make the bad guys into Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li, but I thought it would be a better idea to do that on the Secret Society. Kolin as F.A.N.G is pretty cursed lol. Seth is somehow part of the Illuminati because I needed another bad guy to replace a Shadaloo King lol.

Also, I did this during the time when the F.A.N.G/Bison fangirl group was still going strong on Twitter, so they had a kick out of it. Sadly those days dissipated a few months later when many of them deactivated their accounts. Life goes on, right? Those are good memories though. One could say that this silly little project was something of a love letter to them 💜❤️💜❤️

I'm doing a gamedev course, paid for by Her Majesty's Government, because I guess they think more game developers is more taxes or something. I'll take it lol. Am I going to be come a game developer? Unclear as yet! I'll be as surprised as you. But I need 'money' to 'eat food', I understand, and this is looking like the best bet.

A lot of it is about one big project that I'll be working on over the next ~14 weeks, so I thought maybe people would be interested in what I'm trying to make. Which is THRUST//DOLL, a game about darting and grappling your posthuman shell through hundreds of missiles. You can see some visual inspirations here...

For reasons best known to Past Bryn (ok, it's to learn the tech), I'm trying to do this entire project within Unity's new(ish) Data Oriented Technology Stack (DOTS), which gives you the magic of an Entity Component System, meaning you can shove data in and out of the CPU cache at speeds previously unknown to humanity. DOTS is a paradigm that's supposed to replace the old object-oriented world of GameObjects with something sleek and modern and compiled (using 'Burst', we're still in C# sadly).

So the core idea of ECS is that, instead of storing data on class instances, you put that data in tightly packed arrays of component strcts indexed by the same 'entities', and you iterate over these rapidly with 'systems'. If you've heard of e.g. the Rust game engine Bevy, it's the same idea, just... awkwardly jammed into Unity. (Many other engines are following the same sort of idea).

But... it's had a really rocky history, the API has only just stablised after most of a decade, and half the DOTS-related information you'll find on the internet is plain out of date, and the rest is either a little inscrutable or long video tutorials.

The first task I've been set by the powers that be at "Mastered" is to make a 'configurator'. The assessment task they had me do to get into the course was also a configurator, I guess someone there really likes configuring things. Anyway, for me that's going to be the character creation screen of THRUST//DOLL, where you swap out bits of your body to get new abilities.

So, have the first of some devlogs where I describe the design decisions I've been making so far. At first all I wanted to do was create a system where there are UI elements that you can click on with a little toggleable circle in the UI that is attached to them. Unity has like three ways of doing everything you can think of, so that involved a lot of digging. Eventually I settled on doing it a fourth way using none of Unity's built-in UI systems, using shader magic.

So I made a noodly looking thing for drawing circles:

Why shadergraph and not the cool hardcore HLSL text editor way? Because sigh DOTS has a bunch of weird boilerplate I didn't have the energy to figure out. 'Because DOTS has a bunch of weird boilerplate' is gonna be the recurring thing in this story I suspect. Anyway Unity ShaderGraph is almost the same as Blender Material Nodes, except you need to know a little bit about rasterisation. Luckily I made a rasteriser in 2017, so I have a decent understanding of this stuff.

A billboard shader it turns out is hilariously simple. What you basically want to do is have a polygon that matches the rotation of the camera. However, in a shadergraph, Unity will apply the full MVP matrix no matter what. So the solution is that you do is you take the View matrix, which is the camera's transformation, and invert it, and apply that before the MVP matrix with 0 in the w component to make sure any translation still gets applied. As long as the model isn't rotated at all, it all cancels out.

Anyway I figured out how to do overrides with DOTS components, which is neat, so I can feed in numbers into my shader per entity. The next step was to figure out how to create entities and components to display these little circles... which is the subject of devlog #2.

This one's basically a DOTS cheat sheet where I boil down the main things you'd want to know how to do. If you ever felt like trying out Unity DOTS, I really, really hope it will save you some of the misery I've had. There are so many weird gotchas (you fool, you saved a temporary negative entity index!) but the good part is that it really forces you to learn what's going on in this thing.

That is a good part, right?

Anyway here's the milestone I reached today: cubes you can click on at like 200FPS. It will revolutionise gaming, I think.

Yeah so that looks like shit, but the code is cool, and now the code's there I can make something that looks cool instead of bad!

More updates soon, I have to work pretty hard at this thing. Have another concept sketch!

I do!!! Two dogs! They are my life!

I have a lot of dreams honestly, but the two I'm working the hardest towards are my dream of being a published author and my dream of being a musician. I don't necessarily want to be a world renowned author, or selling out arenas. I just want to be able to make a tiny difference in the world with my art, and I guess that's the dream.

5.) Aside from art, what are your hobbies?

This kind of counts as art as well, but I'm a make up artist and body painter! I'm very out of practice just because I have no time, but it's one of my favorite things to do! (I also play guitar, bass, and sing, but that's kind of more than a hobby)

Good God no 😅 I just let my brain puke all over my blog so for as long as I can I will keep it from everyone lol. I mean my mom knows it exists, but won't seek it out.

Well, recently I've started working as writer for @simmedup magazine, check us out if you haven't already! But my "day job" is mostly writing, I'm also a caretaker!

Evidently Gerard Way? Like it's become such an on running joke in my family and friend group, and I seriously get stopped all the time. I'm mostly an editor and digital artist! But like I said I'm also a body painter and make up artist!

I got into editing because I can not draw people to save my fucking life, seriously if there was a gun to my head and the only thing saving me was to be able to draw a portraits, I would be fucked. Basically I wanted to be able to have cute little photos of my characters and I really loved how they were coming out as sims so!! Yeah!!

Okay, I go through phases! So, I used to strictly watch Mythbusters while editing, and then I moved over to YouTube and got really into this one YouTuber FakeGamerGirl so I've been watching her videos while editing lol, but I'm sure it will change again.

I would like to say comic book gothic, but it changes so often and I like to play around so it fluctuates wildly!

~I summarize the entire thing lol~

After watching the ENTIRE movie, I have a lot of pent up anger over the ENTIRE script and I could tell Mr. Brenner is also tired of their shit when I saw how quickly some of the scenes go, along with the fact they didn't even impact the entire ass plot what so ever.

In which most of my rant also came from a video by Unlucky Tug (Video Below):

So if you don't want to read most of my pent up (horni) anger, you can also enjoy the video above, I definitely did when I notice some of the smaller details that Unlucky Tug brought to surface.

Let us start from the beginning.

Sequence Start: Thomas appears in the frame, he's delivering passengers as usual. Great Music in the background is playing-

Wait whose whistle is that?

Sequence Start: Aw shit he's about to race- Yep called it, Gordon appeared and our two favorite slow coaches berated Thomas once they arrive at their destination.

Sequence 1: Thomas meets Scotsman and saw how his relationship with Gordon goes. Which is one of the most interesting dynamics presented in the movie compared to the books where they are comrades rather than rivals.

Sequence 2: Great Railway Show is mentioned and Scot leaves. Musical Number "Will you won't you" is performed. Then FC tells them off because there is work to do.

Oh my god I am actually mad that the songs are so good like why must you torture meeeeeee-

Sequence 3: Thomas starts to think of ways to get to the show.

Sequence 4: INTENSE "STREAMLINING" KAREOKE SEQUENCE BY YOURS TRULY

Sequence 5: FC takes the streamline idea. Then the International Engines at the Docks scene commences and Thomas almost dies but saved by Ashima.

Sequence 6: Tommy boi is an asshole. The Diesel Subplot that is good but never used in the final sequence begins.

Sequence 7: Extremely boring Ashima and Thomas Interaction is here don't bother watching it. Anne and Clara deserves better than this

Sequence 8: EXTREMELY INTENSE "Full of Surprises" KAREOKE BY YOURS TRULY BECAUSE I'M BIASED AND THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG IN THE MOVIE

Sequence 9: Pride Parade Aftermath Floor Thomas is here as well as My Girlboss Emily and Drama King James is here looking like two beautiful people standing together while a toddler that escaped their painting lessons is sitting near them.

Sequence 10: *Tiredly plays Six Small Wheels* (it's good tho but not my favorite)

Sequence 11: Thomas almost Dies No. 2 and the Good Diesel Subplot ends sadly.

Sequence 12: the Team of 6 are ready to go except for our Galloping Sausage King because he is impatient and wants to go early instead of opting for the Fabulously Late Opening.

I have a lot of questions for this part.

How did a small island get to have 6 engines compete in a INTERNATIONAL Race? Counting Philip since he is also allowed to go there some how.

Why is Philip the only flag engine in the competition? The rest international engines don't have a flag engine at all. Just Sodor.

Why did Sodor have 2 engines compete in the Best Decorated Challenge? Was it because of an earlier plotline on Ashima and Rajiv competing with each other since they are both painted beautifully? Assuming the latter of course because it might be possible.

If the scene has to make sense then I have to go for only Gordon entering the show. He makes the most sense since his brother is in the competition.

And as the fastest engine from Sodor, also being the brother to Flying Scotsman, he would atleast get a little leeway to the race.

Not to mention the entire movie is named "The Great Race"

Sequence 13: Ayyo we going bois let's goooo

Ashima also goes along because she is also competing.

Sequence 14: The Sodor Gang arrives-OH SHIT SCOTSMAN-and scouts the competition while there. Scot laughs at Gordon's ass lol

Bruh instead of lookin like a clown you look like the entire circus which is very ironic considering Mister famous right next to you have been dubbed a circus train before. Also yes I'm one of the people that does not like his streamlined design.

I have no idea why but its vibes stink and looks too heavy to be used for speed.

Sequence 14: Fuck Gordon forgets his safety valve, Beaten Up Thomas is tasked with getting it to him instead of Perfectly Fine Anyone Else.

FC what the fuck-

Oh yeah Thomas almost dies four times in the span of one bridge jump scene and avoiding Sidney, Connor and Hiro on the rails.

Sequence 15: Vinnie and Philip Plot commence

Sequence 16: Thomas arrives just in time for the Strength and Fashion Categories to start. The shunting challenge is last and the speed category is still preparing.

I have a screw ton of questions for the challenges. The only challenge I do not know what the purpose is for is the shunting challenge.

Like is it not dangerous because engines need both agility and speed while the trucks are being released by the workers themselves?

How did it start in the first place?

Wait how does it actually start?

"Just because I'm well painted doesn't mean I can't do anything else!" Ashima darling that is the most ironic statement I have ever heard because you lack winning shunting skills and a personality.

Sequence 17: Why is Spencer here instead of Mallard? Anyways the Great Race Begins! With Thomas trailing comically behind Gordon of course.

"Good luck little brother" Shing!

Sir please stop making me fall in love with you for the hundredth time pls-

Sequence 18: "THE SHOOTING STAR IS COMING THROUGH! WOOSH" INTENSE "STREAMLINING" KAREOKE SEQUENCE BY YOURS TRULY PART TWO

Sequence 19: Race ends. The Vinnie and Philip Plot continues while Percy hands the shunting reigns to Thomas. Whose buffers are still broken and he probably has a lot of internal damage but prevented by main character magic but that's just some minor details because it literally did not impact the plot.

Sequence 20: Shunting Challenge begins as Vinnie is about to buff Philip into a turntable.

Sequence 21: Boring Thomas sacrifices his win for Ashima and even more boring Ashima and Thomas Heroic Action Yada Yada on Vinnie

Sequence 22: WAIT THEY BOTH WIN??? WOW WHAT THE FU-

Sequence 23: Cute moment between the two sausage bois

Wish that they have more interactions tho

Genuinely hope that the 2D seasons touch on that tho- but if they fuck up Scotsman I'm throwing both buffers and hands

Sequence 24: Boring goodbyes with Ashima

Conclusion: Gordon should have been the main character and main plot of the ENTIRE movie. This is actually made just for him and he is the perfect piece to the puzzle. Thomas can be the perfect main sub character with a Subplot that interacts well with the main plot of the script.

Tweaks I would want to have if I were to rewrite the script:

1. Fewer engines or just Gordon competing in the Show. Thomas can either be a spectator or in the Shunting Challenge since he is the Franchise Boy.

2. Actually use Gordon instead of shoving Thomas down our throats.

3. Make sure Scot has half of the screen time- just kidding that would annoy some of the fandom lol. Make him appear in the scenes he is supposed to be in, by which I mean when Gordon or Spencer is in the place, or be seen interacting with the other famous engines.

Genuinely, I want to see how they act around the most famous engine in the place. Especially Vinnie mainly because I want to see if he about to show attitude or be pretty in awe.

4. Find a goddamn way to place Big Boy in the race because they are perfect for the Strength Challenge. Sorry Hiro and Frieda yo asses bout to be handed over to ye.

5. Improve the Diesel Subplot. The base is great and the humor is there, it just needs more to it. Like actually hurt Thomas instead of just giving him a couple of bruises.

Sorry Gremlin but I have to be the one sadistic author and beat you with the "Make the scene actually impact you" stick because Mattel is a puss-

6. Anyways fuck Spencer MALLARD WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU? SCOTSMAN CALLED YOU SLOW-

Spencer can be his support team and we get to see their own version of Mallard!

Will he be just like Scotsman, by which I mean a big-browed and more egoistic brother, or- actually he's probably most likely just like Scot but I am open to other suggestions to his personality.

7. If it is forced to be in there... then the bridge jump scene should injure Thomas. More specifically his undercarriage and his wheels should show some cracks.

8. I just realized that I'm torturing my boi lol but it's a small price to pay for more Scotsman- I mean- impactful plots in the movie.

9. Fuck James saying that him being red is enough. Like Emily I shall force you to challenge him to be as extra as possible.

Just some gold paint and ribbons?

Fools the lot of them. Time to bring on the glitter and literally outshine both the moon and sun.

They try to outshine the James but the James continues to outshine them HAH SUCK IT HELIOS-

10. Give Ashima a personality. Actually most of the new international character needs one.

I really love love love vidding, Idk why but when smth comes out the way I wanted it’s a super addictive feeling for some reason, but many times I just looked at the final result and just threw it in the trash and started over and my god how many times SonyVegas crushed and didn’t autosave the project. Six Feet Apart // DreamNotFound

just finished writing this thing, lol, sorry about the lack of posts, writers block rlly said "fuck u alex lmaooo"

but anyways, heres a dnf thing lmao

Dream sighed, leaning against his chair as he looked at the ‘Go Live’ button on his screen. He could see the chat going crazy with messages like “WILL HE SRTEAM?!?!?” or “HELLO??? DREAM I MISSED YOU”, which were endearing to him. It brought a smile on his face to know he was able to make hundreds of thousand of people’s days better by just streaming.

The button went red. His livestream started.

After a couple of seconds, Dream cleared his throat and greeted his audience, “hello.”

He smiled at the surge of hello’s, smiley faces, and overall positivity his chat radiated, “uh, hello. Hello!” He moved around his chair and moved his hair from his face, tapping on his desk and reading the chat as fast as he could. “Um, decided to stream today. I have the time, and decided, why not?”

The chat was very happy to see Dream streaming, since the blonde didn’t really stream that often. He’d appear in other people’s streams and videos, but not his own content.

‘Thank you good sir for streaming, you have made my day better’.

“Aww,” Dream started up minecraft, covering his mouth with his hand as he read the dono again. “Glad I can make your day better, that’s like, the point of my content...thank you.”

“Bye!” he ended stream and looked at the time, cursing himself for streaming above two hours again. He raided Ranboo, stayed until Ranboo noticed and thanked him for the raid. Leaving when he realized he somehow missed a call from George.

Leaving the stream, he went on Discord and called George again, wondering why he had called Dream in the first place.

“YOU ARE DUMB. YOU ARE DUMB! YOU ARE DUMB! YOU ARE DUMB! YOU’VE JUST BEEN PRANKED!” George immediately left the call.

Confusion wasn’t even close to how Dream felt. He left out a small laugh, “oh that fucker better get back…” he mumbled to himself, calling him once again on Discord.

The british man answered after three rings, his laughter filling Dream’s headphone, “Oh my,” his own laugh caught him off. Dream could just easily picture George laughing to himself, alone in his room with his RBG lights he somehow refused to use instead of the green screen.

“You’re such an idiot,” Dream chuckled to himself, shaking his head as he leaned his arm against his desk, “you know that right?”

“Oooh Dream called me an idiot oh my god!”

“George!”

“Dream!” George dragged out, pronouncing the ‘r’ as a ‘w’ instead.

He rolled his eyes, looking at his monitor, then up at his webcam. Of course, he still hasn’t used it for streams or anything, it was mostly there for times like these with George. “What do you want, George?”

“I just got bored, Quackity is planning something for a stream tomorrow, Sapnap said he was going out somewhere right now?” George questioned.

Nodding, Dream confirmed it and said he wanted to get some more manga, or whatever he had said. “So you’ve chosen me to bother?” his eyes wondered to the bottom right corner of the screen, frowning as he remembered what time it was for George.

“I’ve got nothing better to do, so why not?”

Dream looked back at George’s profile picture, “George.”

“What?”

His eyes widened, as if George could see him, “Isn’t it like, almost one in the morning for you?”

George went silent, some ruffling of papers going on his side of the screen, “I mean, yeah- but I’m not tired! I wanna talk to you Dream.”

“Well,” Dream rolled up his sleeves, leaning against his desk once again amd looking around his set up, “can’t really argue with that incredible reasoning- “

“But with facecam…”

Silence filled the air once again. Dream’s eyes went up at his webcam, and back to George’s profile picture.

“Okay”

“What?”

Dream made sure his camera was ready to go, somehow feeling nervous turning his camera on, even though he’s done it before with George. Biting his lip with his mouse key over the camera option, he finally clicked on it. Smiling when he saw George’s webcam on.

His finally loaded, immediately feeling weird by looking at himself. “This is weird.” he said to hijmself, moving his hair and playing around with it, “how do you guys do it?”

Shrugging, George smiled, looking at Dream through his monitor, “i don’t know, all I know is that when you face reveal, the fans are definitely going to pop off with the edits.” he laughed and looked back down.

“What- What do you mean?”

“They always pop off with like, those cool edits, and they’re especially going to pop off with edits for you.” George went quiet as he reached the end of the sentence, avoiding Dream’s webcam in fear of making things awkward. “Y’know, because they’re all amazing editors…”

Dream agreed that the stans were amazing editors, but his mind wandered off by its own. He began to think about how the world is like currently, with covid and things. He’s glad that things seem to be getting better, Dream only wished that it could get better faster.

He wanted to meet fans, travel the world more, meet the rest of the Feral Boys and everyone from the SMP. Most of all, he really wanted to meet George. Meeting George was definitely what he wanted to do first. Just to finally get to see him in real life, and not through a Discord call like the two of them have been doing for the longest tme.

“What are you thinking about?’

Immediately getting pulled from his thoughts, he and George looked at each other through their screens. “Huh?”

‘You’re thinking about something,” George rested his head on the palm of his hand, “you have this look on your face you always make when you’re thinking about something…” he pointed out, smiling when he saw the blush rise on Dream’s face. “You like- have your tongue slightly poking out- and your eyebrows they like... like furrow a bit, y’know?” his hand made a gesture as he pointed to his own eyebrows.

Dream’s mind got clouded as he looked at George, the want- no, the need to just see him in person grew as the seconds went by. “Thinking about...the covid stuff, and how uh, we could meet for the first time,” his foot tapped rhythmically on the wood floor, feeling himself grow more and more shaky. “Y’know, like we- we could’ve met if covid wasn’t a thing.”

He nodded and took a sip from the water bottle he had nearby, “yeah- sadly covid had to ruin that, and countless other things for people…”

“Yeah…” that made Dream think more, “I wish we could be together…” he sighed, leaning against his chair, heart breaking as he saw George’s face sadden.

“Hey, when we meet, you promise to like- show me around Florida? We can go to…” George’s eyes wandered around his room, trying to come up with a place in Florida, “I-I dont know...a beach maybe?”

Dream let out a soft laugh, nodding and already imagining showing George the beach, and then the playground he used to play in. “I can take you to a park, tell you about how I accidentally kicked a kid’s arm in elementary.”

Immediately stifling a laugh, George’s hand covered his mouth, shaking his head. “God- does the park have a swing set? I love swing sets.”

“Yeah!” he sat up and began to move his hands around. “And like, you get the perfect view of a sunset…”

The words went through George’s ear and out the other as he imagined that scenario. Smiling to himself as he pictured Dream holding his hand while on the swing set, laughing together about stupid childhood memories only the two of them knew because they had told each other. Probably getting off the swing set and chasing each other around, their feet becoming too tired to hold themselves up so they decide to lie down on the grass and look up at the stars, forgetting the distance they had between them. Only thinking about that moment only. Their heart and souls staying there in that second with each other.

“Dream?”

“George?”

The two looked into the monitor, feeling connected to one another, but the only thing separating them being the screens between them. Wishing nothing but to be able to just simply reach through the screen and hold each others hand. If anything, just for a single second could be enough for them.

“I love you” George said, a soft yawn following behind him.

The blond smiled, looking deep into George’s brown eyes, “I love you too, George.”

“Good.” the tired one sleepily said, rubbing his melatonin filled eyes and yawning once more, “you better.”

“You better go to sleep, idiot.” Dream looked at the time once more, converting his timezone to George’s, “you need your rest.”

Finally nodding, George gave Dream a thumbs up and waved goodbye, “Bye Dream, goodnight sleepyhead…”

“Goodnight George.”

The sound of George leaving the call rang in his headphones. Leaving him alone. He turned off his webcam and left the call as well. Feeling blue, knowing it would be awhile until he actually got to hold George in his arms, but feeling happy knowing that George wanted that too.

Dream can’t wait to meet George.

Are you any good at Guitar Hero? I used to be; I played most songs on Expert, then some really tough ones on Hard. I was soooooo addicted to those games. I remember when I got the first one for Christmas, I literally played it all day. Have you ever played Call of Duty? Nah, not my jam. What is your favorite/most visited website? YouTube. Is your bed comfortable? Sure. I've definitely had way worse. Do you have a garage? No. Fun fact, I've never lived in a house with one. Should you be doing anything right now? What? There's a number of things I could be doing that are definitely more productive, like finishing decorating my damn room. Do doctors or dentists make you more nervous? Not really. I only ever get nervous to hear my weight at the doctor's. Did you ever think you were about to die before? I don't quite know. When I ODed, it was more like I didn't care if I did. Have you ever really had a near death experience? Was it cool? "Was it cool." Literally fuck off. I guess you could technically consider my OD a "near death experience," especially given how many pills I took, yet I somehow experienced almost no ill symptoms. Maybe because we got to the ER for fluids quickly enough, idk. I'm just glad I didn't die. What is your favorite kind of weather? Snowy! Like a steady snowfall of large flakes with no breeze and total silence. *chef's kiss* Ever tasted beer? Ugh, no. Just the smell makes me sick. It was my dad's drink of choice when he was an alcoholic so I just have a very negative association with it. Have you ever seen a dead body? Yes, at an open-casket wake. Ever poured salt on a slug? As kids, my sisters and I would get our parents to do it because they grossed us out. So, so cruel. I still have this weird but pretty extreme phobia of them, but I wouldn't torture the things like that.

The last few days I’ve been in a little bit of a depressive state, so I’m late posting this, but I’m overall super happy with how last month went! Here’s all I got done this month. I also talked about all this in a Minecraft video I posted, if you’d rather hear it than read it.

JANUARY GOALS

Hang bulletin board. Check! Now I have a really pretty writing corner which I admittedly rarely use. But it’s still nice.

Get driver’s permit. Check! This was originally get driver’s license, but that’s not possible to do in one month, legally. Sadly.

Find new maxgraybooks theme. Done! Hopefully I’ll actually like this one for a while lol.

Finish drawing. I did this, and then I even drew another thing.

[Personal goal that I didn’t finish]. Rip.

Write 400 words a day. Miraculously, I did this! On average, at least.

Make a Wordpress blog. Done!

Post The Walking Dead & Queer Representation. Done! And I have to admit, I’m REALLY sad with how little people have read it, because I worked really hard on it. So if you haven’t looked at it yet, please give it a glance and a reblog.

Study the steps to become an editor. Yikes. I didn’t even try this.

Study freelance writing. I did this, though!

Set up mailing list. Done.

Three submission goals, and I completed two of them!

That’s 11 out of 14 goals, a very obvious win! Hopefully I can make the next month just as productive, despite how it’s starting out.

FEBRUARY GOALS

Write 2900 words. This is only 100 words a day on average, but I’ve got a lot going on right now and writing has been really tedious lately.

Write a short story. I have my eyes on one! It’s a pretty old idea, actually, but I’m excited. I’ve also been getting a lot of short story ideas lately so that’s good. I’m hoping to, by the end of the month, have one complete draft at least. Maybe get it critiqued.

Work on a story outline. I’m going to try to get a basic idea of an outline down for What Do People Do After The World Ends? so I can make sure the outline is all done by the time I finish drafting Superkids. I have plenty of time.

Post [blog post]. I had it outlined like a week ago or something and the drafting process should be super easy. I actually picked an easier topic this month so I can put some time into some of my more in-depth ideas.

Complete outline [really long blog post title that needs some workshopping jesus it’s long]. This one has to do with a current hyperfixation of mine, so it shouldn’t be too tedious.

Try out Google keep. Hannah Lee Kidder recommended it and I’m sick of my computer telling me that it’s running out of space.

Post drawing of Deceit. I’ve actually already done this rip.

Draw a DND character. I’m working rn on a character sheet for my elf druid girl, Nessa! I fucked up the proportions and she looks like a halfling lol.

Pass kitchen health inspection.

[If kitchen health inspection is passed] Start a home bakery. If it isn’t passed, cry. And maybe instead focus on freelance editing or writing.

Clean rodents’ cages frequently.

Study for driver’s test.

Apply for 16 jobs OR get a job. I need a fucking job.

It doesn’t look like a lot, but some of these are really emotionally taxing (kitchen health inspection, practicing driving) and some of them take a lot of work and time (all that goes into writing a short story) so I think it’s okay. And actually now that I count it, it’s only one goal less than last month, so...

Sometimes I feel like I’m not pushing myself enough goal wise because Jenna Moreci always has like almost thirty goals on her list, but I forget that she does it by quarter, so she has three times as much time as I do. Anyway.
