Michelle smiles, forcing herself to be in the moment and not in the bad memories - wrapping her arm around his waist.

Summary: Michelle seems to consider what he’s saying, Peter hoping that he hasn’t said something to scare her off. It’d been awhile since he’d been on a date, wondering if this really qualified as one.

But Michelle was interesting, fascinating in a way that made him want to know all that he could about her - a draw towards her that he couldn’t really explain, considering he’d known her for less than an hour.

She seems to decide just as Peter thinks of speaking again, thankfully stopping him from embarrassing himself further when she says, “Yeah, that sounds great.”

Peter smiles. Michelle smiles back.

And Peter decided then and there that he’d do almost anything to keep seeing it.

First of all how could you do this to me? I can't choose a favorite fanfic author!!! Instead, let me just list a bunch including a favorite story of theirs:

You, @notherngoshawk for your impeccable attention to detail and mastery of angst. A favorite fic is (as you know) dragon blood.

@penguinsledder for fluff and angst and just...she makes me feel the feelings. A favorite is look into your eyes (the sky's the limit).

@thinkingisadangerouspastime for her character fics and incredible wordsmithing. I love broken pieces still belong.

@flameohotwife for the fluffy and sometimes spicy Kataang. She likes to weave in elements of relationship building which is also unique. A favorite is Balance and Babies.

@vanillabutspicy for the spice. We're talking incredible spiritual spice. I love her fic Lion Turtle.

@waterbearwaltz is an actual poet so don't mind me crying over most of what she writes. So far I'm reading Cover Me which I anticipate will be a favorite, but as for a fic of hers I finished that I love that would be Together, Apart.

@the-last-cuddlebender is really a cuddlebender. I love all her fluff. She's also hands down the most creative writer in terms of analogies, metaphors, and similes I've read in fic. A favorite is I'm Here.

@a-d-curtis is a master at worldbuilding and drama and great at newer Kataang long fic that hasn't been seen in a long while. A favorite would be Setting of a Blood Red Sun.

@secretsecrettunnel is a veteran at fic and I love both her spice and her fluff. A favorite is Metamorphose.

@justoceanmyth likes to come out of the woodwork just to surprise me and isn't afraid to write anything. A favorite is holding hands across time.

@shifuaang is also a surpriser and comes out with random Big Brain fics that always have me reeling at the end. A favorite is the riot's gone.

@f0xfordcomma has a super unique writing style that ranges from sporadic to mythical in nature. It's both poetic and creative. A favorite is re:union.

@chocomd is so great at writing with purpose. She doesn't need all the purple prose to fluff up her fics. She writes and it's there and it's powerful. A favorite is Midnight Meditations.

DJNS is a classic ATLA/LOK Kataang author who I adore with all my heart and aspire to become. I want to learn her writing style. I love everything she writes. A big favorite would definitely be Tales of Republic City, but I also have to include Smoke and Mirrors.

Lyralocke is a legend that I would be a monster not to include. She wrote during ATLA's original airing but unfortunately never got to see LOK as she is very sadly no longer with us. Her whole repertoire is fantastic and I recommend anything she wrote. I can't even pick a favorite.

@coldflame96 is a writer I recently discovered because of Fruits Basket and I love literally everything Kyoru they write. I am in love with the love they portray. Just...wow. A favorite is To Move Forward.

blueh is wonderful at writing fic for the Irondad/acadec team/MCU/Spider-Man fandom and I am in love with their characterizations and creative storylines. A favorite is arachnid decathalon.

seekrest is a legend in the Irondad fandom. I cannot recommend them enough. I love everything. I literally cannot pick a fic.

I definitely didn't include a whole lot of fic in here, but I hope this answers your question!

Since this clearly needs to be said

If you have a parasocial relationship with me, you need to end that immediately. The audacity of some of you to forget that I, seekrest, am still another fan creating the shit I want to see for free is OBSCENE.

This is not the first time I’ve had this “critique” (when it isn’t a critique, it’s just harassment” directly given towards me but fuck it if it will not be the last time I see it.

What the actual fuck is wrong with some of you to think that because I’m prolific that I’m somehow now responsible 1) for this fandom or 2) entitled to listen to you all as if you’re paying customers.

Let me be expeditiously fucking clear: I am just another fucking fan in this fucking fandom. If YOU choose to put me on a pedestal, that is YOUR fucking problem.

“But seek, you criticize tropes you don’t like all the time!!!! what’s the difference”

The difference is that I am not going into the inboxes and comments of all these individual people and talking shit about their writing or demanding that they write differently. If this asshole spammed the spideychelle tag, saying how much they hated meet again after HS and how sick they are of fics being created under this trope, I would not give a damn. That’s their right and their blog to do with what they wish (and would be MY responsibility to block, mute or ignore if it bothered me which let’s be real— it would not. I don’t have the backbone of a chocolate eclair and my tastes are not so flimsy that any criticism of it would push me off. If that was the case, I would’ve left YEARS ago for all the shit I got from the irondad fandom)

You are out of your fucking MINDS if you think that ranting in your own space is equivalent to coming into a fic I CO wrote, criticizing said trope and then DOUBLING DOWN that “sorry if I offended your co-author but seek? She’s fair game actually”

Celebrity stan culture has rotted your fucking brains if you think I have to listen to this shit just because I write a lot. I do not get paid for this and I am not a fucking celebrity. I am another fan who is EXHAUSTED with people having this level of entitlement towards me.

Summary: Peter knew that he should be grateful. He had disappeared into nothingness and had no reason to be back, but he was. Tony had saved him. The man had invented time travel to bring back the missing half of the population, and that included Peter. At first, he was grateful to have more time with May and to get to grow up and all that, but once the initial shock wore off, the realities of life were catching up with him and he was beginning to question whether this had been a good thing after all.

It very much did-- to himself but also from May, if last night was any indication-- but having Peter find out by Sam walking out of his aunt’s bedroom the morning after isn’t exactly how he anticipated it.
