It's nothign bad I am just very slimey #usually I am not a cough person I am not sure where this is coming from #most of the time I just get a stuffy nose #has my nose gotten stronger #but there are good news too I have already found a VERY good chestnut to put into my pocket this autumn!! its very small! (❁´▽`❁) #it's been a very warm autumn in Germany so far so it has not really felt like fall yet #but yesterday it was all rainy and stormy and I had two new books and it was the best day possible to have a slimey cough (: #and now I feel SO much autumn I am close to buying a set of window colors #I do not know what I would to with the window colors I just have this strong urge in me to buy a window color set #the last time I did a window color was at the birtday of a class mate I think she turned 9 and I made a deer #but for some reason we did this craft 5 minutes before we all had to leave so we had to carry our window color deer home wet #unfortunatly for the deer and me I fell down the stairs of her house and smeared the deer all over me and i screamed the entire drive home #which wasn't very long but it probably felt very long for the mother who had a screaming child covered in window color deer inside her car

i appreciate that rtd knows when to fudge things in order to make a good story. like he wanted to cast Yasmin Finney as Rose Noble, literally saying it's like she was sent down from above to play the role, but she was 18 when she was cast. so he aged up the character of Rose Noble a couple years to be 14 or 15, not caring that it didn't make sense with the timeline. it's okay if you have to jokingly explain things as a magic time cloud or whatever, the minutia doesn't matter if it means you can cast someone perfect and tell a good story. and Yaz Finney is really, really perfect for that role. it reminds me of that thing Rachel Talalay said about Heaven Sent where the crew pushed back on her about the lighting in a couple shots because it didn't really make sense, and she said "it doesn't matter where it comes from. it comes from 'it looks good'."

idk! i just really appreciate when creatives know when to let things be bullshit sometimes for the sake of good art.

I'm actually really okay with Sylvia being much nicer and softer in the 60th anniversary specials then when we last saw her. I think it's great at highlighting that her daughter almost dying really struck her to the core and made her change. I love that she did actually internalize The Doctor's words about how if Donna is important to her she should TELL her that she's important to her. I also love how even though she can be a bit clumsy about it sometimes she's extremely supportive of her granddaughter. Like oh she's not going to make the same mistakes twice (and there's also no fucking way Donna would LET her speak to Rose the way Sylvia used to speak to her). I don't know I just really like to see that she's also changed for the better in the time since we last saw her.

#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #lan xichen #jin guangyao #jiang cheng #wei wuxian #qin su #EDIT: Tumblr published an earlier draft with only half the notes I wrote so: late entry on my JGY thoughts. #Unlike the mystic powers of the stockmarket (what the OG meme is referring to) I think this situation calls for more active investigation. #qin su is such a deeply tragic character to me and I really wish we got a bit more from her. #Love everyone who sent me messages about her after the last time she appeared. #I think she needs a spin off of her being a transmigrator SO badly. #MDZS has so many interesting characters - but it sometimes fails to give them the proper room to really develop past a role in the plot. #That's just the consequence of writing a story like MDZS. Not every character in a book *needs* to have a rich inner life and backstory! #To do so would bog down the story and obliterate any notion of pacing. It's just not possible. #Jin Guangyao (nee Meng Yao) is unfortunately not free from this leeway rule. He is the culprit of this murder mystery plot #and thus NEEDS to encapsulate the themes of the book. And personally he's a 7 out of 10 at best on this front (in the AD). #MDZS is about rumours twisting reality and working towards truth. And about how people & situations are rarely ever black & white #JGY has his motivations. He's well written in regards to his actions making sense for his character. #What started as good traits (drive to succeed & improve his image) became twisted over time (do anything to maintain his image) #and it's a good parallel to WWX! He has the same arc (with different traits)! Bonus points for IGY in that regard. #but man....by the time we confront this guy for murder there's not a lot of grey morality. He's just...deep in the hole *he* dug. #There's a beautiful tragedy to it! More on JGY in later comics - this is getting pretty long already!
