not sure if you wanted general headcanons or romantic so i did both!

General:

Absolutely a party guy, I mean how can he not be? He’s never one to turn down an invite to a club or a house party. He’s literally the “party don’t start till I walk in” type of guy but its actually the truth

Beer pong and keg stand champion, undefeated, no matter how hard others (especially Rappa) try to beat him

Despite constantly drinking alcohol, his teeth are in surprisingly good shape

Although he’s depicted as a raging alcoholic, I think he’s a rather casual drinker when he’s not on a job for the Hassaikai or at an absolute rager of a party

A shockingly level-headed guy and fun to talk to when he’s not sloshed out of his mind. He’s perfect for venting to or trying to work out a thought process, rarely one to cut in unless asked for his opinion

Perfect hype man!! This dude will cheer folks on and boost their confidence, even if they’re a random stranger at the bar or across the street

The master at situational humor and making the most out of a bad or embarrassing situation

He looks like he could be a contortionist to me, not sure why. At the very least he’s double-jointed in my mind

-10% shame, obviously. He seemingly absorbs others’ shame too, willing to cause a distraction or take the blame for something if need be. Says it’s fun and thrilling and keeps him humble, plus he likes the attention

Class clown type, but not in that obnoxious way, y’know? Like the kinda stranger to do something wacky or hilarious that makes you go to your friends and say “Holy shit, you’ll ever believe what this random dude did, it was so funny”, that kinda stuff

Is insanely drained and exhausted the day after using his quirk too much. He only gets severe hangover symptoms after using it, rather than just drinking normally. In fact, everyone’s jealous at how he’s totally fine after a night of heavy drinking and partying

His liver is a medical anomaly, change my mind

His hair may always look oily or greasy, but he still showers daily. That’s just unfortunately how his hair is

Strikes me as the kinda guy to be totally down for platonic cuddling, drunk or not, much to the dismay of his co-workers

Although his room and fashion sense are pretty plain (or even dirty), that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a sense of style or interior design. He’s just always out on jobs or partying to really care about his clothes or furniture

^ Regarding that, his fashion style is more street-casual, grunge/punk mix, even dipping into skater-boy territory

His interior design tastes are a sort of mix of boho and art deco, if that makes sense. Also doesn’t mind a modern Japanese look, either

I’m also gonna say he’s the kinda guy who goes to strip clubs just for the fun of it rather than the sexual appeal. He just loves the energy of the place, plus he supports sex workers

Drinks his respect women juice daily!!!!!!

Romantic:

Pansexual and panromantic, is also down to discuss poly relationships too

Love language is physical touch and words of affirmation, which are amplified when he’s even the slightest bit drunk. The second he takes a sip of his drink, he’s immediately showering his partner in praise and kisses, his arm(s) always around them in some way the whole night

Hates huge flashy dates, UNLESS it’s a festival/amusement park date. He LOVES that shit

Would prefer a partner who’s down to go to parties/bars/clubs with him, but if not that’s chill, as long as they’re fine with him going out himself then

Despite always going out to parties and such, he’s more than willing to reserve a few nights a week (or by request) to just stay home with his partner. He’s still gonna casually drink, though

Obviously they can’t talk or even be near her unless they wanna be meat on the floor. Poor girl just wants to make friends but her hubby makes it so hard 😔😔😔

(I would've thought I did a quirkless reader for him before but I'm admittedly too lazy to check my HIGHLY OUTDATED masterlist so fuck it. Let's do it anyway! Also, I hope it's fine I'm leaving the reader kinda open ended as usual so everyone can kinda insert themselves into this better. Thank you for the request and the chance at writing more Kai content!)

~Kai's Quirkless Reader & the Hassaikai~

-Quirkless? Not that much of a shocker he'd fall for you. The boss being in a relationship? THAT is the shocker everyone hasn't managed to let go of just yet. In fact, most of his inner circle thinks he's holding you hostage while the other half wonders how you could've ever fallen for someone as rough as Overhaul in the first place. Did he even know how to date someone? Overhaul doing gentleman shit? Overhaul possibly kissing you one day or holding hands? Overhaul being in the same vicinity as someone else for longer than a few hours? There was a slew of gossiping he couldn't really shut down (or intimidate out of the men) for a very long time. He was trying to at least get it out of control before bringing you around to meet everyone for the first time.

-He took the time you introduce you considering he would have some of the members of the Hassaikai be your personal bodyguards or escorts when he couldn't join you out. Aside from this, he didn't really want you interacting with anyone else than himself. You were headstrong (or stubborn as he'd put it) and wanted on your own to develop meaningful relationships with his main group. Where he saw workers, you saw his friends despite him never calling them that. You wanted to be as important to them as he was. None of the men really complained since you were a breath of fresh air compared to Kai. With the help of Pops preventing Kai from killing the guys, you were able to try and get to know each of them.

-Hojo thought of you as a little sibling almost, no matter what your age is. You could literally be older than him and he'd still try to treat you like a little sister/brother/sibling. It was odd, but you didn't seem to mind how careful he was or protective nonetheless. Setsuno was a lot more careful with you since he didn't want to end up like mince meat. Had you not pushed hard for him to come out of his shell, you never would've learned all the wonderful parts of his personality aside from being a legitimate gang member. Tabe was more or less clingy to your kindness. This is especially true if you end up trying to greet him with something to eat. He adores you now.

-Rappa was actually pretty taken with you from the moment he met you. Someone brave enough to go against Overjerk's rules and do what they wanted regardless of the outcome? Oh yeah, he thinks that's fucking awesome of you. Tengai is more careful about guarding your feelings and still doesn't greet you by your first name even to this day. He also spends a lot of time scolding Rappa when he's around you since he's worried the big lug will offend you somehow.

-Nemoto has been and always will be the absolute most respectful with you. He greets you with the utmost proper manners and tries to make sure you have everything you might ever need whenever he's on duty for you. You've been trying for a long time to break down his walls and get him to chill out more but I doubt that'll happen anytime soon. Deidoro fucking loves you and loves even more the fact that he can be as crazy around you as he wants to be...well, as long as Nemoto isn't there to stop him from having that fun. You don't mind it. The man is a hoot!

-Chrono has become somewhat of a close friend to you. He knows when to let his guard down and relax ever now and then. Don't get me wrong, he still respects Overhaul very much as both a friend and a leader! It's just that when he's out with you, he's not gonna say no to putting a dollar in a prize machine and trying to win an IPAD with you. If you could chose anyone to hang out with for a day, it usually ends up being Chrono. It makes sense that Kai has gotten jealous a time or two of you relationship together. Mimic on the other hand...he doesn't worry as much with you two being together. In fact, your first impression of Mimic was that someone must've been pulling a prank on you. There's no way this beanie baby can turn into a full grown man on command. Mimic thought you weren't real when he met you too either. "How much did the boss pay for you to pretend to be his partner?"

-Katsukame was...a lot upon first meeting. He let a few inappropriate comments slip and you nervously laughed it off until Kai came out and killed the guy in front of you. Since then, Katsukame learned his place around you. Oh and Pops? That old man adored you since the very first moment. How could he not? You're giving his misguided boy a chance to experience real love for the first time! To him, you were considered family from the very first day you took Kai's heart.

➥ Hari would be horribly cautious when that baby first comes home. You see the hesitation of his movements when you hand the baby over to him. You’ve made jokes of him being slow before it’s different this time.

➧ You cradled the baby safely in your arms, making your way towards Hari. He blinked slowly, taking in your movement and actions as he assessed what you were doing. He made an unconscious set backwards, something you noticed immediately. “Hold them.” You commanded calmly, knowing that not giving him a choice would force him out of his comfort zone. He realized you were being serious and moved forward to catch them as you shoved them into his arms. He froze in place, treating the baby like an awkward fragile heirloom. He hid the fear and panic well, except if you knew him. There was a little quirk in his eyebrows and you stifled a laugh. “You’re not going to drop them, Hari.” You reassured, rubbing your hand soothingly along his arm. “You haven’t yet, you’ve got nothing to worry about.” “Yeah well one drop and this kid is gonna come out for fucked up than me.” He half joked, adjusting their head. You pulled your hand back to slap his arm, making an irritated noise. “They’ve got your genetics, they're already screwed.” You responded.

➥ Hari hates his quirk. Is it helpful in certain situations? Of course it is, the same can be said for most quirks. But it’s a hassle to deal with, such as the awkward clumping it does which makes styling it impossible. And when you have a baby with grabby hands it makes for interesting conversations.

➧ “I’m going to preface this by saying it isn’t my fault.” Hari said from the other room. You casually strolled back into the living room not giving his words much thought. He has said weirder things and has definitely said something similar after “accidentally” doing something stupid. You saw Hari standing with his back towards you. You made your way towards him, moving around him to see your baby laying in his arms. Then you noticed the slow movement of their hand slowly moving as it was currently wrapped around a strand of Hari’s hair. “Hari!” You shouted, moving quickly to carefully remove the baby’s hand from his hair. “What happened?!” “I was trying to explain to them not to touch my hair but they wouldn’t listen.” He explained, far too casually. “Despite my insistence on the matter.” “They’re barely three months, they’re not going to understand you dumbass!” You shouted, checking the baby’s hand to see a small cut on it and doing a quick check on what part of his hair they grabbed. “The hour hand, Hari?” “What? Like I forced them to grab that one.” He defended, looking slightly offended. A few moments passed as he watched you try to reassure the baby still in his arms. “…Maybe they’ll go to sleep?” “HARI!”

➥Hari will have casual conversations with baby anytime he’s left alone with them. One of the reasons he wasn’t too on board with having a baby was mostly due to the fact that he had no idea what to do with it. He’ll treat the kid as it grows up as a tiny adult. To your insistence he’ll filter some things…and at least wait until the kid is a certain age before he’ll offer to teach them how to use a gun.

➧ “And then we got ahold of the traitorous two-timing bastard, killing him, obviously. Katsukame made a far bigger mess than Kai wanted, obviously. He’s the big dude, makes creepy comments, longtime family though so we have to put up with him. Anyways Kai got all uppity, obviously. I got out of clean up duty this time at least. Well…” Hari paused in his rambling, looking down at the bottles he was cleaning before he glanced back at the baby in its highchair nearby. “Okay, well for that at least.”

➧ Hari was sat on the floor, various things scattered around him. He was currently in the process of cleaning one of his hand guns. He glanced around for a particular object, not seeing it as he started picking up random things to look. He spotted the baby grasping it in their tiny little hand, about to bring it to their mouth before Hari reached over and grabbed it. He glanced at the distance between them and the shit he had over the floor. “Okay, maybe you’re a little too close.” He mumbled to himself as he scooted himself over to drag the mat they were on further back. He was a little too quick, nearly sending the baby off the mat before he caught them. He froze, waiting to see if they started crying. Taking a breath of relief when they started giggling. He laid them back down and shook his head. “Babies are easy.”

Ok ok! There’s all the change the villain to the hero fics which are wonderful!! But imagine,

The entire Eight Precepts of Death, Chrono, Mimic, and Overhaul as hero’s in a hero agency called the Shie Hassaikai.

It’d be so op and amazing! Change nothing about their personalities, maybe less violent, but boom!! Successful heroes!

Chisaki and Chrono would definitely stay ‘in the shadows’. Not doing much actual hero work, they just manage the business mostly.

Mimic focuses on the finances while also doing hero work, not much though.

Nemoto works with the police a lot, so he’s their bridge if their ever needed.

Rappa, Kastukame, and the Trash Trio (Setsuno, Tabe, and Hojo) are the poster boys basically. They rack in the most big bucks and have the most publicity. Tengai is too but less so.

Slosh works the night patrol but stays away from civilians because of his quirk. Often, Nemoto will join if he is not needed by police.

Unlike most agencies, they aren’t sidekicks. They are each separate pro heroes that grouped up for an agency. Similar to Kamui Woods, Mt Lady and Edgeshot, but to an extreme.

Most of their outfits are the same, but Nemoto changes the cloak for a suit during the day. The masks are used but not worn except when on missions and patrol.

Despite being not the most popular of the group, Overhaul is in the top ten, maybe number 3. He wasn’t happy when he found out bc he hates publicity, it makes him feel dirty.

Occasionally, there will be a rumor or accusations of shady dealings but they shrug them off. (Sometimes there are shady dealings, but nothing illegal.)

Overhaul has a personal moto when dealing with trigger happy villains. ‘It isn’t murder if they’re don’t stay dead.’

Now, he never uses his quirk like this in public but has removed and replaced hands before. He tries to make it so no one can see it though.

They don’t use it but they have loads of blackmail on every hero angency and high ranking pro. They know everything.

They share any new information but don’t actually use it. Though, if they don’t find anything, they’ll send a care package without a label and a congrats card.

Ok hear me out: Kai and Nine having a cage match.

Not a real fight of course, they're just training physical combat and Chisaki is already long time into this, with their respective groups there for cheerleading (and Rappa probably wants to join). Who dominates this fight?

I see Nine dominating the fight for a single reason. His brute strength. Albeit he's a quick thinker, but when it comes to battle strategy, it seemed like he relied way too much on his Quirks. Overhaul is more strategic, relying on evaluation and far-range movements. He seems to be extremely flexible rather than hefty, so I can see him attempting to outspeed Nine, but, Nine has both far and close range, meaning Overhaul most likely can't get close enough.

However, Overhaul has a terrain advantage. If he's on the ground, you should not be. Nine does have the ability to use the Hydra Quirk to avoid the ground change, BUT it's hard to get stable if the terrain isn't. Not only that, but Overhaul's Quirk doesn't seem to have many drawbacks other than he can't grab a liquid.

Nine used the Hydras to pin and win against Overhaul, or maybe he used his Weather Manipulation Quirk(he got scolded by Overhaul after the match) to disrupt the environment.

Ok you’ve mentioned before that you think everyone in the Hassaikai is autistic (except for Rappa who’s ADHD, rip Tengai) so do you have headcannons on special interests, stims and such for everyone? If so can we hear the ones you have?

A lot of the 8pods are actually AuDHD, so let's sort them out:

Autism only: Chisaki, Tengai, Tabe, Hojo, Nemoto, Katsukame, Irinaka

ADHD only: Rappa (rip)

Both: Kurono, Setsuno, Sakaki

You mentioned comfort items in a different ask, but I have very few headcanons for that--most of what I have are headcanons for special interests, so that's most of what you'll get lol.

Chisaki Kai: Special interest is definitely anatomy/biochemistry, and it's lasted basically since he had the means to start learning about it. So--years. As for stims--he likes having something to chew. This oftentimes conflicts with the mysophobia--he can't just put something in his mouth, but once he's chewing on something he doesn't exactly want to stop. He also likes running his fingers through the fur of his coat. Sometimes he carries Irinaka around in plushie form because he needs something soft to carry and he knows that since it's Uncle Joi nobody can say a damn thing about it. Lots of tactile stims for Kai, although he may also use music as a stim sometimes, just put in some earbuds and listen to a specific song on repeat for hours. He does not do well when overstimulated, too, and hates overhead lights.

Kurono Hari: Special interest would be mechanical stuff and engineering--the lab that's featured in canon? He fucking built most of it while in the grip of a series of the unholy offspring of special interest and hyperfixation. He likes to play with gears and springs and pieces of metal that Kai often Overhauls into specific shapes for him (like joints and things). He also often has Kai weld together pieces of metal using Overhaul. He has a lot of motion stims, probably tends to get up and move around a lot, especially when he needs to think. He didn't do so well in school for this exact reason. Like Kai, he also likes to carry Uncle Joi around in plushie form.

Irinaka Joi: I don't have any specific stims in mind for him, but I do think he likes being in plushie mode in part because of species dysphoria but also because lights/sounds/All The Stimulation is blunted and lessened somewhat, and because plushie mode doesn't feel pain unless you handle it really roughly. (That's part of why he lets his nephews carry him around, because he's hard to hurt in that form and because they often really need it.) It's easy to imagine that he gets overstimulated really easily, or that he's photosensitive when in human form.

Nemoto Shin: Special interest is definitely psychology and sociology--he's very interested in learning how humans think and behave, in part because he needed to know stuff like that to survive as a teenager/young adult bouncing between gangs and living off of the money he got from conning people. That knowledge of psychology is really helpful as the leader of the Precepts as well. He also suppressed a lot of his stims during this time, and is still rediscovering them.

Sakaki Deidoro: I like to think that his special interest is linguistics. He knows several languages and often talks with Nemoto about the intersection of language and psychology. Possibly he stims with the fur on his vest the same way Kai stims with the fur on his jacket. He also likes the feeling of someone playing with his hair, but obviously only a select few are allowed to.

Setsuno Touya: His special interest is history. He can talk about various periods that he's studied for hours, and often goes looking for primary sources to confirm what secondary ones are saying. Recently he's been looking into the history of the yakuza. Like Kurono, he has trouble paying attention/absorbing information that he's not super interested in when he's sitting still, so he tends to fidget a lot and has developed some motion stims.

Hojo Yu: I said geology once for his special interest and I'm sticking with it.

-He’s been behaving weird lately. Perhaps no one else had noticed more than you at first, but as time went on it became more apparent. He spent less time focusing on the task at hand and more time trailing behind you. Even when he was in his own office for the day, tending to the Hassaikai, he took more time than usual to text you or to even call you. On his days of rest instead of moving about his own path, he actively sought you out. At first you’ll admit it was rather lovely having the germaphobe suddenly attached at the hip with you. However, it became a little more troublesome than you’d like to admit.

-You didn’t have enough space to do chores or to focus on your hobbies like usual. Chisaki was always there, sitting silently by your side or sometimes attempting to keep up conversation you could clearly see he wasn’t used to doing. He would tuck his head right into the side of your neck and peer over your shoulder to keep a watchful eye on whatever you were doing. At night he seemed to have gotten even worse.

-His arms were like a trap you couldn’t shake yourself from. He comforted himself at night by tightly wrapping them around you, leaving barely enough room to breath and not nearly enough room for you to avoid being sweaty. He would usually wake up and complain about the night sweat but he remains content on the very next day.

-As long as he can be near you.

-It had gotten to the point where you’d practically snuck away from Kai just to find the patriarch of the group. You confided in Pops rarely but the old man didn’t care either way. He loved and adored his time with you. That’s why when you quickly entered the tea room and locked the door behind you, the old man immediately placed his attention on you with a warm smile plastered upon his kind face. “Y/N, to what do I owe the honor of my precious in-law visiting me today?” He chuckled as you quickly took a seat in front of him. “Pops, I’m sorry to say but I think your son has lost his mind here lately.” The old man pauses for only a moment before chuckling. “Please tell me something I don’t know!” He teases but you brush it off.

-You take time to explain Chisaki’s behavior to Pops, unaware of the listening ear from the other side of the door. By the time your conversation ends (and Pops reassures you that Chisaki is not sick), that listening ear is long gone. You feel much better after having a little time alone even if it was spent chatting with Pops. When you make it to the bedroom you’re solemnly greeted by Kai. Alarm bells ring in your head when you notice his somber disposition. It only takes a second to meet him at his side on the bed. You explain how you’ve been feeling but he also takes a second to open up as well (something rare for the man indeed).

-”Apologies...I’ve felt lately like maybe I haven’t been the best at giving you attention. I was listening to Chrono speaking with mimic just the other day. He mentioned something along the lines of our differences, allowing me to feel as though I must be pushing you away. I should’ve killed those two for talking about you behind your back, but when they brought me up, I just had to stop and think about things. Foolish I know but...I worry sometimes. I worry that I just might not be giving you enough, angel.” You start to understand fairly quickly why he’s been acting like this now. “Kai forget about what them or anyone has to say about us. You know people are going to have their opinions regardless of who it is. Besides, they were probably just joking around like usual anyway! You are just enough for me. You’ll always be enough for me. Stop worrying about how you think you need to act around me and start loving me in your own way. Besides, all the clinginess was starting to drive me insane anyway.” You tease him lightly and he smiles.

-”I’m glad to hear you say that...now please keep your disgusting night sweat off of me tonight...” You laugh at him. “Just make sure you keep those death trap arms on your own side of the bed.”

Attention

Overhaul has his very own definition of affection when it comes to romantic relationships. One type of attention you very rarely get from him is a physical display of attention while in public, or more generally speaking when you two are not alone, meaning even one single person present with the both of you will be enough to restrain him from touching you. He's not - and has never been - a social man, and especially doesn't like to show his emotions to others, so even if accompanied by you, he doesn't budge and remains emotionally cold. However, when it comes to private moments, you are always assured to receive physical attention from him. It's never intense, but loving enough to melt your heart anyway. A caress on your cheek, a kiss left on your neck, a hand sliding over your thighs... All these are marks of affection he enjoys giving you when you two are alone. Most of the time, they happen in silence. He loves you through gentle gestures without a word, thinking his acts speak louder than anything he could say to you. And you're fine with it. You often find yourself craving these private moments together, since they usually don't happen until the end of the day or when he's not too busy, which doesn't happen often. Aside from the intimate physical gestures he gives you, he also shows you his love through verbal affection. His tone softens when he speaks to you, and he's developed a habit of complimenting you without filtering himself in the slightest. An example is when he walks up to you to tell you in the most spontaneous of ways how gorgeous he finds you today, leaving you a blushing mess, muttering a shy 'thank you'. These compliments always catch you by surprise, and always leave you wanting for more. Of course, with each compliment he gives you, you end up repaying the favor, complimenting him daily as well, but you always feel like they don't affect him as much as his affect you. But that's only because he doesn't show it.

Control

Overhaul was born to become a leader, and his Boss had always shaped him to turn out that way. He's at the head of the Shie Hassaikai clan, with dozens of men under his supervision, following his orders without double-thinking or ever questioning the choices he makes. It is clear that he embodies the image of a man in control, dictating everyone he considers to be below him. And he is no different outside of work, when it comes to his relationship with you. You two are a couple, you form a pair, who respects each other, but there is no denial that he is the one in control of your couple. It's not so much a matter of respect or trust, but rather the fact that he's always been used to being the one in control of his life, and just because he's dating you doesn't mean this will change. If anything, it makes him want to control his life and yours even more. He not only likes to be the master of his own sea, but also feels the need to protect you and shield you from certain outside things. It's nothing too restrictive or strict, but it still matters to him to trace at least a certain amount of boundaries. On top of his natural authority, you have noticed that as your relationship has grown since when you started dating him, he tends to sometimes be quite possessive of you now, since he never stops feeling more and more attached to you as time passes. He doesn't want to cage you up, but his desire to keep you safe and for himself leads him to tutor you often. Lastly, although it may not show often, he gets jealous easily regarding the things he loves, and you're no exception. Not wanting to show you that side of him is one of the reasons why he controls some of your movements.

Doubts

Undoubtedly, your relationship with Overhaul leads your mental health to somewhat deteriorate. Yes, you love him, but it doesn't stop you from suffering from breakdowns sometimes, wondering how you came to be so attached to him, and asking yourself endlessly if you made the right choice to follow him down his path. You look back on your couple and come to doubt some of your choices. You do your best not to have breakdowns in front of him, but know he's bound to occasionally walk in on you having one. The first time he surprised you in the middle of a breakdown, he asked you what was wrong, visibly worried. And when you gathered the courage to tell him what was troubling you, his expression changed. He told you he understood your feelings but added he couldn't empathize with them, since he's never truly had that conflict. Having lived in the Shie Hassaikai clan since his earliest years, he's never had another choice but to live like a Yakuza. Unlike you, who didn't grow up a villain. Despite your different backgrounds, he still validates you and accepts you in his life, and you're grateful for that. But, although he tells you he wants you to open up to him regarding your doubts, you can never bring yourself to do so.

Equality

He may be a Yakuza, and one hell of a bad man criminally-wise, but Overhaul still has principles. And one of them is that he respects women. Unlike what some people might think, he's not the type to disrespect you, his female partner, simply because you're a woman. He believes in full gender equality, whether it is in private or business matters. In fact, for Overhaul, what determines someone and the level of worth they hold as an individual is not the controversial features people usually bicker about (such as gender, skin color, or age), but their place in society and what they can do to change the latter for the better.

Fear

You love Overhaul, you've found this out for yourself throughout your relationship with him, with your feelings for him having only gotten stronger since you've started dating. You love him for all his flaws, all his qualities, his personality, everything that makes him, him. And yet, despite all the time you've spent with him, the one thing you're still not used to is how intimidating he comes off as. You've always felt a certain aura emanating from him, like a strong force, instinctively commanding respect upon anyone who comes across him. And this feeling is even stronger when you two are alone. Whether he does it unconsciously or not, his words often weigh a certain pressure, especially when addressed to you. Sometimes, you can't help but even feel scared of certain things he says or does. You're not blind to the things he does at "work", you know his motives and how he controls his minions. You've even once witnessed for yourself how he got rid of one of his men by killing him using his Quirk, making him explode, repainting the walls red. You quickly realized you weren't supposed to see that. You had walked in on the scene, and by the time he had noticed you were there, it was too late. He seemed panicked, his eyes wide open, keeping his distance from you. He quickly cleaned himself before approaching you, asking you if you were okay as he saw you were visibly shaken up. You knew deep down he was regretting his action, because now he was afraid you'd be too scared to be with him. After all, he's a murderer, and isn't afraid to be one to achieve anything he's aiming for. You know that. But you sucked it all in, told him you were fine, and neither of you talked of it again. Since then, he's made extra sure that an accident of the like never happens again, starting by making it clear to you that he loves you too much to ever hurt you in such a way.

Germaphobia

Habits: Overhaul is a germaphobe, everyone knows this, and you especially over all others. He doesn't consider himself a cleaning freak, and actually corrects people who call him that way. Yes, he wants things around him to be clean, to make sure he doesn't come in contact with anything that could affect his system, but that doesn't make him the type to sweep his home every day. He doesn't mind when things are slightly messy and tolerates a little dust, as long as it doesn't accumulate. His main issue with germs is when they come in direct contact with him, thus leading him to wear a mask and gloves constantly. Before he met you and started living with you, he washed his hands every hour, and never took his mask off around others, no matter the context. But over time, through conversation and guiding, you managed, not without difficulty, to progressively take his habits down one level. At first, it was hard for him, since it meant changing life-long habits, but with your help, he now washes his hands at acceptable amounts, and under certain circumstances even accepts to take off his mask in public.

Touch: Because of his germaphobia, it can sometimes get quite hard for you to live with Overhaul, but not for the reasons people might think. He can be strict when it comes to physical touch between the two of you, simply because he fears catching an infection or something of the like. In order to prevent that from happening, he asks you to always wash your hands properly before touching him, and the same goes for your mouth if you wish to kiss him. This can sometimes feel heavy on you, especially if you're a touchy-feely person who needs physical touch. But you can't blame him for it, that's the way he is. Besides, you know well that since you started dating him, his germaphobia went up a notch, because he now fears for the both of you. As much as he wants to keep germs away from himself, he also has someone else to protect from them.

Kitchen authority

Another result of Overhaul's germaphobia is his desire to always be the one to cook. It has nothing to do with trust, or doubting your abilities in the kitchen, but he prefers to be the one to cook. Although it may not show, he's a very skilled cook, due to many years of making his own food in the past. He makes excellent dishes for the both of you, with care and attention, and you make sure to thank him each time for it. Your culinary compliments may seem like they don't affect him, as they don't trigger many reactions in him, but deep down he feels the pride to know he made you happy with one of his dishes. If you ever come to implore him to let you cook for him for a change, it's likely he'll end up accepting, but rest assured he'll be monitoring you the whole way through and watching your every move to make sure you do everything perfectly.

Masks

Overhaul has developed a habit of wearing different masks according to what he's doing, such as his crow mask, which he wears for work, and his set of plain black masks, which he wears when he goes out on more casual occasions. One moment you still have engraved into your memory is the day he had awkwardly confessed to you he didn't know which mask to wear when he was alone with you. It had made you laugh, which further annoyed him, but you quickly reassured him that it didn't matter much to you. You told him that it was up to him, and after that day, he decided he would wear his plain masks around you, thinking it was admittedly more comfortable. Eventually, after dating you for long enough, he took a huge step forward and decided he would not wear a mask at all when he would be alone with you, which had earned him praises and congratulations from your part. In the earlier stages of your relationship, you had also tried taking a step in his direction by gifting him masks as a way to show him your support and that you accept him for his germaphobia, but he had to turn down your offer by telling you he preferred to buy his masks himself, to make sure of their composition. However, he had still thanked you for your original idea, and despite never having told you, he still feels grateful for it.

"Overhaul"

Overhaul has made it clear to everyone that he has long buried the name "Chisaki", and you are no exception. At the beginning of your relationship, he had told you not to use it when addressing him, and you didn't see any reason to oppose it. However, you can get tired of calling him "Overhaul", especially in private settings, so you sometimes allow yourself to call him "Over" in order to preserve the aspect of nicknames, which you find important in a relationship, or whenever you want to show him a softer side of yourself. At one point, you had talked it over with each other, and he had told you you could call him "Kai" if you really wanted to. But you keep that for only the most intimate of moments...

Pet names

Overhaul isn't necessarily attached to the notion of pet names within a couple, and is mostly content enough with calling you by your name. However, as your relationship progresses through time, a time eventually came when he asked you if you wanted to be called by certain nicknames, since he started feeling more comfortable around you. He made it clear that if you did want to be nicknamed, you would be the one to choose them. He wanted to make sure he would call you by names that would please you and make you feel loved. You told him he was free to choose for you, but he insisted it was up to you. You ended up telling him what your favored pet names were and he's never forgotten them since. Although he mainly sticks to your name, he calls you by those pet names every now and then, keeping them for when he's feeling personal or domestic around you.

Quirks

You know well that Quirks are a touchy subject to talk about with Overhaul, hence why you rarely do so. But, one thing you just couldn't avoid revealing and inevitably had to bring up with him when you two first met was your nature, whether you had a Quirk or not. In the case where you were born Quirkless, the first time you had told him about it had seemed to have somewhat appeased him. It was only some time later, after learning what his "job" is and what his ideals are that you understood why he was content with you being deprived of powers. Although it had sounded weird to you at first when he had told you he was glad you had no Quirk, you came to understand that he feels this way because he sees you as pure and "clean" for it. To him, it means you represent even more than ever someone that he needs to protect. In the case where you were born with a Quirk, you couldn't help but feel fear the first time he confronted you about it. You knew about his morals and dreaded he would reject you for having powers, finding you gross and unworthy of his love. But, to your surprise, he told you he didn't mind it that much, and accepted you for who you are nonetheless. Ever since you've been together, you've brought it up with him only once, and he made it clear he accepts your Quirk because he knows you're not using it to play hero. Getting with him in the first place meant following him on his trails and more or less agreeing with his ideas, and that's enough of a reason for him to accept you by his side. Besides, all ideals aside, you know he loves you enough to not let his morals dictate his feelings towards you, and that he loves you no matter what your powers are, or even if you've got none.

Sex

It had taken you by surprise when Overhaul had told you that if you wished to have sex with him, you had to be the one to ask him for it. He explained to you that he didn't see it as a priority in your couple, and that he preferred dedicating his time to other ways of loving you, and it'd lead him to never ask you for some time under the sheets. And indeed, he never has. Ever since you've been together, you've been the one making advances each time. But that doesn't mean he turns them down, or that he doesn't appreciate sex. He actually quite enjoys it, firstly because he knows it pleases you, but also because it allows him to spend quality time with you. His sex manners are of the most common type, consisting in the most basic of positions, and rarely including kinks. But rarely doesn't mean 'never'. Sometimes, he admits it, he uses the opportunity of having sex with you to finally externalize certain emotions he's bottled up and lash out at your body. During those kinds of nights, he's even more passionate, and rougher too. He holds you tighter, pressing his entire body against yours, and even drops sensual whispers into your ears. Even when giving you this kind of sex, he's still loving towards you, asking you every now and then if you're hurting anywhere or if he's being too rough. Deep down, you fight the desire to ask him to be even rougher, wondering what it would be like if he truly gave it his all. It's evidence for him to always wear a condom when having sex with you, since he hates the thought of you filled with "filthy fluids". But that doesn't stop the quality of his sex from being extremely good, saddening you when it comes to an end, making you wish for more. But you know what comes afterward is just as good. After you're both done, he takes you to the bathroom, and steps into the shower with you, to cleanse both your bodies and minds. Under the pouring hot water, he continues to caress you and whisper to your ears how much he loves you.

Work

You'd say there's nothing in this world Overhaul is more dedicated to than his work. But, ever since you got with him, he is just as passionate about your couple as he is about his work. It's safe to say these are the only two things in his life he views as important and worth his time. Devoting himself to both his work and your relationship, he made it clear from day one that he would love for you to work alongside him. You knew right from the start what his "job" consisted of, and you had chosen to accept it nonetheless. You were somewhat expecting him to impose on you the role of the "Boss' wife", forcing you to work with him, and that was a harder thing for you to process. But, in reality, he had asked you at the beginning of your relationship if you wished to work for his clan, accompanying him in his daily activities, or if you rather wanted to stay out of it, leading your own working life by yourself. You had been very grateful to see him considerate enough to leave you the choice, and still are to this day. The thought of working by his side had intrigued you, leaving your imagination picture how you'd be walking next to him throughout the halls of the clan's headquarters, a newfound feeling of empowerment emanating from you. But on the other hand, choosing a job in something unrelated to the clan seemed the most suitable option, since it would not only give you alone-time outside of home, but would also keep you clean from any of Overhaul's activities, therefore helping keep up appearances. Whether you've decided to work alongside him as the co-Boss of the clan, or work on your own, he loves you just as much, and respects whichever choice you made that day.

Yakuza principles

Overhaul has always perceived himself as a true Yakuza ever since he first joined the Shie Hassaikai, and has always given importance to making a distinction between Yakuza and villains. The main noticeable difference between the two is the code of honor that Yakuza clans impose upon themselves, to make order and organization rule within the group. And Overhaul's clan is obviously no exception. For a man such as him, who wishes to always have everything under control, it's essential he has all his men agree to a specific set of principles and rules. However, something you hadn't expected when you started dating him was to also be imposed these rules. He had told you explicitly that whether you desired to join him in his work or not, you'd still have to obey the rules of his clan. This meant not telling any exterior party about the clan's activity, whereabouts, and identities, in order to protect both the members and you. You had decided to comply with this rule, among the others he had presented to you. But, aside from the initial surprise it had created in you, it has never had any actual impact on your relationship. You go by his rules, in and outside of work, and it satisfies the both of you. After all, you know well he trusts you, otherwise, he would have never started dating you in the first place, and that always makes you happy to think about.

Zealousness

In your eyes, Overhaul is the perfect illustration of a zealous man. He always comes off to you an enthusiastic and passionate regarding the things he does and the things he cares about. It begins with his work, which he puts above all else, and considers to be of the utmost importance. He's got plans, which count trying to make the Yakuza stronger and making his ideal a reality, and he'd do anything to achieve these goals. But his commitment doesn't stop at his work. He's also extremely devoted when it comes to his personal life, especially with you in it. He wholly dedicates his time to you when you two are alone, showing you how important your couple is to him. He tries his best to make it work and doesn't hesitate to go to extreme lengths sometimes, just to make sure you're happy with him and that you won't find anything to reproach him for. It took you some time to notice the true reason behind his actions, and when you understood why he was so committed to you, it surprised you. You hadn't expected him to be the type of man to have these types of doubts, but it also did make you understand how much he loves you. You remind him daily that he doesn't need to do such things for you to believe in his love, but you know deep down that he'll never change, and will always keep on reinforcing the foundations of your couple.
