My old art (2022-2023) of my Pokemon Scarlet team + shinies postgame @castiels-destiny

Shinies went in this order I think (and shinies not in the drawing): mudbray, toxel, (both from trying to hunt paldean whooper) paldean whooper, some more shinies, larvitar, more shinies, then roaring moon which took a million years running around that one cave in area zero

I had low key toxtricity in scarlet and amped in sword lol, scarlet one named after sword one in honor

Sword team was Inferno the Cinderace, Dauntless (named after my WoF au SwordWing oc, Zacian was named after Knight lol) the Corviknight, (I forgot their name) Toxtricity who would swap with Vikavolt, Oreo the Obstagoon, and I forgot the other two LMFAOO whoops

I don’t know if it’s showing up for y’all on my other Pokémonstars post ‘cause it’s getting cut off for me but. Anzu has Delibird (to help her with work) and a Chansey (to keep her alive when she does too much work)

ANYWAYS HERE’S SOME MORE ON A SEPARATE POST ‘cause the other one’s getting much longer

Rinne has a Talonflame, Hiiro caught it as a Fletchling for him when they were kids and it’s the only Pokémon he brought with him from home

Eichi and Tatsumi each have Audinos as support Pokémon for their health; Tatsumi’s is shiny and he likes saying that it looks like a mini Mayoi

I think it’s adorable when people put food Pokémon in Niki’s teams but I’d be so scared of him accidentally eating them when he’s super hungry— I mean I guess they can feed him when he’s hungry but I think he’d also have a Chansey ‘cause of the egg

Tsukasa’s Cherrim is named Blossom and he makes a point of saying it in English

Rei and Koga both have Toxtricities but Koga’s is the amped up one while Rei’s is lowkey

I was gonna say each of the Ra*bits have a different Oricorio but none of them really fit, but Mitsuru would definitely have the Pom Pom one

Subaru Gimmighoul. That’s a given. He also has a Dottler ‘cause shiny lights while Makoto has a Charjabug (to charge his electronics but also it evolving into a Vikavolt would be cool)

I can’t decide if it would be funnier for Wataru or Kanata to have a Wailord ‘cause on the one hand it’s kinda like a blimp and Wataru would have it just for the sheer ridiculousness of it, but on the other hand it’d be a Pokémon that Kanata would actually have; he’d be like “this one’s actually quite small for its species~” and it’s still the size of a building.

Eichi has an Empoleon (emperor penguin and all that) while Hokuto has a Prinplup named Polaris (prince penguin) and they’re training to be stronger out of spite

Ritsu Komala. Yeah.

@/that-fandom-lurker brought up that Arashi would absolutely have a Sylveon and my addition is that Izumi would have a Glaceon (they’re besties)

Mika would have conventionally “ugly” Pokémon but love them all the same, like he’d have a Trubbish

🐹 Which would be your OCs favorite Pokemon? What kind of trainer would they be?

Man, this one is a bit hard, but I was discussing it a bit sort of recently lol Didn't fully settle all of it tho, but there are a lot of different ways to answer it!

Jayce I at least know for sure would be an Ace/Cool Trainer type. Lots of evolved and powerful types pokemon and a decently balanced team. Someone who travels around a lot and had raised his team himself and picked them up from all over as he went. It's been very hard for me to settle fully on his team, but also think he'd actually swap some out for whatever is needed for his next mission and could have more than 6. Did say he might have started with a runt, shiny Nidoran♂ that is now a Nidoking. But also mentioned Haxorus, Toxtricity (amped), Noivern, Grimmsnarl, Obstagoon, Scolipede, Gigalith, Tinkaton, Gyarados... Def want some others for balance, but those are some that first came to mind for him I guess? He'd be one who really wants to keep team balance in mind for advantages and trains them to know how to fight like he did himself but also... those would be his babies and more than just fighting machines. He's going to make them the best they can be! Seems he's mostly drawn to dark, poison, and dragon tho... Lucy I didn't get settled down quite as much still... I think she'd be more drawn to fairy, fire, grass, and water. She might also have a full team since she does a lot of fighting for work. Talked about her having an Aclremie with some blue (not sure which variant tho). She likes cute things, but also would have some powerhouses I think (but a lot of the fairy types ARE powerhouses). Might have had an Eevee that is now an Espeon? Some she might be likely to have could be Breloom, Politoad, Flaafy, Meganium, Mienshao, and maybe Liepard??

thinking about the last reblog is so funny because I have found so many full-odds random shinies in the funniest ways possible

I found that drowzee and ran around waking up the whole house (my mom was of course pissed I was up past my bedtime) while my brother was yelling at me to catch it and then I go to throw a ball and couldn't because... the way PC boxes worked in gens 1 and 2 was if the box you were currently on was full, it wouldn't just go to the next available box. it just shut you off from catching anything. I literally had no choice but to let it go and I was devastated

then I'm running around in pearl and have to have that unfortunate experience of watching a pokemon with a self-destruct move use it turn 1 and disappear right before my eyes. then skip forward maybe 4 days and I'm trying to grind levels to evolve a pokemon outside of canalave and then an unmistakably shiny floatzel appears right before my eyes just for me (I named her Marina). 2 shinies in the same week, it was as if I'd been given the second one just to make up for that

for how religiously I played pokemon emerald when I was a preteen I'd never had the luck to find a single shiny, then when I replayed it later I found 2 in absolute twists of irony. while hunting for a ditto to use for breeding purposes on my original file, I noticed the very first one I encountered was blue while it was sliding into frame. did you know that in RSE shiny ditto's transformations will also all be shiny? and that they took that away the very next gen? still kinda salty about thateven now then fast forward to college and as I was grinding in a new playthrough in an area with poochyena and mightyena who knew roar at their level (which worked on pokemon of ANY level in gen 3) I remember thinking to myself "hah wouldn't it be funny if I found a shiny" and then maybe 5 minutes later a shiny mightyena is staring me in the face as I helplessly throw balls at it praying it didn't roar. she didn't thank goodness, I miss that shiny a lot, I'll probably try hunting for one in violet at some point.

many years later in pokemon sword amped toxtricity was my absolute everything, I remember breeding ones to send out over surprise trade with good IVs just because I wanted to spread them to everyone. I looked away from my TV but JUST barely enough that in the middle of typing a message in a server I saw that bright pinky-red out the corner of my eye and IMMEDIATELY snapped my head back and gasped very audibly. a free shiny of my very favorite gen 8 pokemon with the correct nature and gender and I cannot even say I was trying for it. she was also the very first self-bred shiny I'd ever gotten and it took eight entire generations for it to happen to the most perfect pokemon it could have POSSIBLY happened to

i have more than enough WIPs to keep me busy but thinking about what Pokémon could match the HFR cast.

Like, there’s no doubt that Chai would have Amped Toxtricity (or maybe Electivire because of the reverb gauge?), at least until there’s another similar ‘mon with red colors, but for the rest it’s got a lot of room.

Both shiny Umbreon and Luxray kinda share a lot of characteristics with 808, so maybe one of those for Peppermint? Can’t think of any silver-and-green pokémon that quite match Macaron’s personality; and it’d be funny if Korsica had a Porygon-Z despite her job, but her colors also match Modern Vivillon quite nicely and they are part Flying. Hmmm...
