Slime Rancher

Slime rancher is a cute exploration and farming simulator, with the gimmick of having slimes instead of typical animals. It has beautiful environments and cute visuals that make the game a joy to play, as well as appropriate music for each of the areas which create an ambiance like no other. While there is a story in slime rancher, you can fully ignore it if you want. It is told through emails sent by your ex-girlfriend and research notes scattered across the island. I love it when stories are told like this, because it makes it feel like a puzzle I’m slowly fitting together. I won’t go into much detail, but the main theme of the game is to try your best to be happy. It’s a simple message with fairly simple execution but it gets the point across. My favorite part of the game, however, is the slimes!!! I loved setting up my ranch and seeing the cute little guys bounce all over the place. Late into the game there are tons of chances to automate and create the most efficient farm possible, which I had tons of fun with. I loved testing new ideas with auto, harvesters and the placement of farms to slowly improve efficiency. This game is a farming sim, so it can get repetitive, and some of the mechanics aren’t as explained as well as they should be.  “Slime Science” in particular is given to the player with little to no explanation, but it holds some of the most interesting mechanics! If you enjoy cute farming simulators and want to enjoy a fun journey, this is the game for you!! 9/10

TMC slime rancher AU called Slime Ranchin’ AU

Basically the main four victims (+ Dave and Thatcher) take the roles of the silly little rancher guys in the game! Yayy!! They research the Far, Far Range and the slimes together even though they don’t get along half the time 💔

Mark and Dave are always gone for days-months most of the time cause they’re in the Glass Desert or The Wilds together on some Uncle Nephew adventures 👍

Adam hates everyone besides Jonah (who is his qpp cause fuck twt) and even though he says he hates Jonah (who doesn’t take offense to it) he knows he cares.

Cesar and Thatcher are the mom figures making sure no one spawns in a Tarr or gets eated by a feral slime 💀

I made this one shortly after the Song of the Sabers update. It was great to finally see what Saber slimes actually look like.

I really liked going through some of concept art from the the game to try to recreate a few aspects of the style and apply them to the illustration, you can see that mostly on the tree.

My Stardew Valley slime mod has been updated! I've been tinkering away at the thing lately, mostly behind the scenes stuff like coding. Instead of having a bunch of different versions of the mod to download for customization, now you just need one download and you can tinker with the config file from there.

The animal icons are slimes, Dusty is a slime, the chicken that Shane holds is a slime, even the exit icon is a slime! The horse (called a slime mount) has a alternate colors, and I've even added compatibility with the furry anthro mod (cause it's the one I play with).

The in-game text is now changed to match the slimey creatures, with fun names like wooly slimes, purr slimes, and milk slimes. My good friend @meraki-sunset was gracious enough to write up a Spanish translation too.

Again, there's a config file for customizing your experience. Livestock, Horse, Pets, and Text can all be toggled. It's best used with the config menu mod.
