You stared at your blank computer screen, hope of finishing your assignment before its due date at midnight slowly vanishing.
The clock on your desk read 11:27pm, the green lines wavering in your vision as your eyes slowly drooped, trying to drag you into the depths of slumber. You wanted to sleep, you really did, but you knew there was no way you could give up writing your essay, even now, knowing you weren’t going to submit it on time, because you would stress too much about it if you didn’t at least try to complete it before the due date.
Pushing yourself away from your desk, your chair squeaking against the floor ever so slightly in your dead silent dorm room, you tried to think of some excuse that your professor might believe. You doubted there was anything you could think of, but hey, your professor was better than what your roommates’ had mentioned theirs being, and you were grateful for that. Maybe you could tell him that you were exhausted from working extra hours at your job since you had had to cover your coworker’s shift and that’s why you couldn’t complete your essay on time? Or, maybe you could get away with a simple “I was lacking interest in the material, and couldn’t understand anything, and I didn’t ask for help because I knew that you are such a busy man trying to do so many things at once. Another hopeless near college drop-out wasn’t something I thought you needed on your hands.”
     ....Maybe not the latter.
You sighed, running a hand through your tangled hair, practically feeling it screaming at you to wash it. You barely had time in the mornings to take showers anymore, and when you took them at night, you never had the strength to wash your hair, always knowing that putting a hat on overtop or throwing on your hoodie would make it seem fine on the outside, and that was good enough for you. As long as you looked at least decent and somewhat presentable.
Your dorm room was fairly small, like every other one, but the lack of furniture made it seem larger than the rest. Nothing more than you and your roommate’s joint desk, the mini fridge in the corner, and the beds filled the space. You almost tripped over your backpack lying next to the bunk bed pushed up against the wall, falling to what would’ve been inches away from your roommate’s sleeping body.
In an attempt not to disturb them, you tiptoed through the room, stepping over the occasional heap of clothes or homework, until you reached the bathroom. You fumbled over the door knob before almost tumbling into the small space. Glancing in the mirror, you didn’t fail to notice your messy hair, the dark circles tracing beneath your eyes, or the way you looked like you were seconds away from passing out. The sound of running water rang in your ears as you turned on the sink faucet, cupping your hands together and bringing your face down to meet them, rubbing the cold water all over you in an attempt to keep you awake for just a few moments longer.
Your eyes returned back to the mirror as you sighed at your dripping wet face. There was no way possible you were going to finish your assignment on time. You knew it, your roommate knew it before they passed out, and you had noticed your professor’s wary glance this morning in class as a sign that he knew it too.
An idea sprang into your head, part of you dreading the optimism that seemed to seep through your brain slowly. You didn’t feel like being energetic right now.
---an hour later---
You weren’t exactly sure how, when, or why you decided it would be a good idea to take a shower (you did end up washing your hair, thank god), get your things together in your bag, and head to the off-campus coffee shop (since the one on-campus had already closed), but you found yourself with a warm cup of coffee in hand as you exited the shop, the cold midnight air enveloping you in an unwelcome embrace.
You shivered. The only thing your spontaneous brain had forgotten had to have been your jacket, the one thing your normal brain would’ve remembered if it weren’t already past midnight and if you weren’t majorly sleep-deprived.
You most certainly weren’t done with your essay yet, nor was there any possible way for you to finish it on time since it was now approximately thirteen minutes past the due time, but you let yourself breathe for now.
There weren’t many people out at this hour, and it made the usual busy city streets seemed like a ghost town. There were a few restaurants still open as you strolled along the sidewalk, their lights responsible for illuminating more than half the area in front of you. You passed by an onigiri shop your friend had recommended to you, but you just weren’t that hungry. Most nights, you’d kill for a midnight snack, but your single shot of espresso coffee was satisfying your needs for now.
You decided to head to the park after seeing a rabbit hop its way across the vacant street and into the bushes in that direction. The fresh air was nice and cool against your dry and croaky lungs, and your ears needed a different sound than that of you miserably attempting to touch type quickly, your fingers rapping against the keyboard with vigor.
A stream nearby flowed softly, the dripping of the water against the rocks complimenting the noise of the crickets chirping in sync just downstream. Your footsteps cut through the grass slowly, not bothering to follow the stone path. The park was a nice change of scenery. You couldn’t remember the last time you’d been here by yourself in peace, it was always you and your rambunctious friends who ran through every now and then just to see the dogs running through the sprinklers, or the occasional poor cat whose owner dragged them out into the daylight for exercise. This was peaceful, though, and you appreciated that.
A few more rabbits crossed your path, giving you that wide-eyed, side glance before darting off into the darkness, outside the reach of the lampposts emitting light. The sound of the stream soon faded out as you continued to walk through the park, sipping your coffee every so often. The warmth from your cup was soon dying out, and you figured you’d have to start walking back to your university sooner or later. Maybe you could crash at your friend’s house who lived just off campus, though you had forgotten your phone back at your dorm and had no alarm, no laptop to complete your work, and no contact with anyone else who might worry where you’d be. You had really no choice but to trek back to your dorm in the darkness, cutting your peaceful visit to the park short.
You let yourself have a few more minutes of stress free relaxing as you sat down on a bench just before the ground let out into a downhill slope overlooking the rest of the city below. The trees around you swayed in the breeze, and for a moment, you thought it was the wind talking, and not an actual human being who had somehow made his way beside you without gathering your attention.
“Didn’t think anyone else would be up at this hour,” the stranger mumbled. You glanced up, almost startled that, indeed, someone else was actually awake and strolling through the park.
The boy couldn’t have been much older than you were, maybe the same age. He had his hands stuffed in his jacket pockets, the wind tousled his dark hair ever so slightly, and the moonlight played along, illuminating his face just so you could actually see how gorgeous he was.
You cleared your throat, averting your eyes back to the ground as you shifted over, creating more space on the bench in case he wanted to sit down beside you. “I decided to actually take care of myself for once and give myself some time to breathe before facing the wrath of my professor tomorrow when he finds out I didn’t turn in my essay on time.” You let out a low, breathy chuckle, not exactly sure of what would happen next.
The guy sat down on the bench next to you, though he made sure to give you some personal space, which you were grateful for. He laughed along with you a bit, and you could tell just from his tone just how tired he really was.
You gave him a side glance, raising an eyebrow. “So, what the stressful thing that brought you here in the middle of the night?”
He smiled half-heartedly, eyes trained on the moon. “Work stuff. Jus’ been busy, I guess.” He shrugged.
You waited for him to continue on, but he stayed silent. You didn’t complain, though. Wasn’t your whole reason for coming out here in the dead of the night for some quiet? Plus, it wasn’t awkward either. You were comfortable sitting next to this stranger.
“What do you do for work?” You waited a little longer than necessary to ask, but he didn’t seem to mind the long pause.
“I own a restaurant a few blocks away. I love the job, it’s just tiring havin’ to deal with rude customers like my brother who won’t get the hint and get out sometimes. I got into an argument with him earlier today and he just wouldn’t shut it.” He rolled his eyes and took his hands out of his pockets, making eye contact with you as he went on about his day, and you couldn’t help but smile at his passion. “The guy thinks he can just walk in when I’m working with a new employee and just act like he runs the place! Quite stupid if you ask me. Such a jerk, he is. Thinkin’ about just banning him from the place, really.”
You snorted. “He really bugs you that much, huh?”
The guy smirked at your laugh, admiring it, though you would never had guess that was what flashed across his face in a million years. He nodded. “Yeah, ‘course I love ‘im ‘cause he’s my twin and my best friend, but he really knows how to annoy the hell outta me.” He shrugged. “Maybe I’ll just get a sign in the window that says “no shirt, no shoes, no service” and cross it out and write my brother’s name instead,” he reasoned, and the pondering look in his eyes made you wonder if he was actually considering the idea.
     You smiled. “You’re funny.”
“You say that like ya weren’t expectin’ it.”
A laugh made its way out your lips. “Well, when you’re approached by a stranger in the middle of the night you sort of expect the worst.”
The guy glanced off in the distance, away from you, furrowing his eyebrows. “Sorry, didn’t think of that comin’ off that way.” He shrugged a shoulder. “Guess it’s a good thing I’m funny then, and not some creep, eh?”
You nodded, the smile on your face not fading as he changed topics.
“So, what’s your essay on? Any way I can help ya finish it?”
You shook your head dismissively. “Oh, no. It was due thirty minutes ago.” You quickly explained the topic you were writing about in class before getting side tracked. “My professor had said he would allow it to be turned in the next morning, but I doubt he actually meant it.”
He smiled a wide grin, making butterflies flutter in your stomach. “You go to the university nearby, right?”
You nodded in confirmation, raising an eyebrow. “If I’ve got any luck, there’s a chance you go there too?”
He laughed a little, shaking his head. “Nah, I don’t, sorry. I’ve visited campus a few times because some of my friends go there, but I just usually focus on work.”
His gaze was tilted upwards towards the sky, and you couldn’t help but admire how the exhaustion still shone in his eyes, but somehow that same passion gleamed there too just mentioning what he did for a living. You wished you were that passionate about something that would actually support you financially in the future and make you happy.
When he glanced back at you, you were still taking his essence in, and he made a look of confusion. “What?”
You shook your head, chuckling. “Nothing. I just admire that you can dedicate yourself to something and make it seem so easy.” He looked at you, interested to hear what you had to say, even though you were sure you couldn’t be the first person to tell him this. “I haven’t even known you for more than ten minutes and I can already tell you’re passionate about what you do and if you’re stressed about it, it must mean you’re dedicated to seeing your work through, and that’s more than enough to admire and appreciate, especially when that can be so difficult sometimes.” You finished your short tangent, looking back up at him to see him staring intently at you, seemingly in awe of what you’d just said. You felt a blush creep onto your face as you quickly blurted out, “Sorry- I didn’t mean to be so straightforward and weird like that- I sound like some crazy secret admirer or something...”
The crickets chirped in the silence between the two of you, and it felt like it would never end.
“Y’know, I wouldn’t mind havin’ a secret admirer. I mean, wouldn’t be so secret, but...” You saw the smile creep up onto his face. “It’s nice being appreciated. Nobody really tells me that kind o’ stuff, so... thanks, I guess.”
The heat on your cheeks didn’t go away by any means, but you grew more comfortable with it as you mumbled, “Maybe I wouldn’t mind admiring you.”
Now, it was the boy’s turn to blush, and you smiled at how his cheeks grew redder with every passing second, and how his subtle grin spoke a thousand words he didn’t need to say.
“Miya Osamu.” The boy’s hand came into your view as he extended it for you to shake. “I own Onigiri Miya across from the grocery outlet.”
You smirked, grasping his hand in yours as you said, “L/N Y/N. I own an official license for being a horrible driver and an ID that proves I’m a sleep-deprived college student and that’s about it.”
He laughed, shaking your hand and standing up, letting go too soon for your liking.
Because for some weird reason, his hand felt right in yours.
Osamu said a quick goodbye, mentioning something about how he should get going and how you should get some sleep before he disappeared down the stone path back into the darkness.
You stood up not too long after he’d left, your coffee now entirely cold as you plopped the half full cup into the trash can on your walk back to your dorm, not needing the pathetic warmth anymore. Your heart was beating fast and the feeling of Osamu’s hand resting in yours lingered on your palm, and that kept you warm enough.
Maybe you’d be visiting that onigiri place your friend recommended to you a little sooner than you’d originally planned, and maybe more often than you would’ve expected.

Tumblr media
how did you even become roommates with someone like him? you dont even know. all you knew was that you were finding someone to share the apartment rent with and it just so happens that your friend at college, wooyoung, has a friend who was looking for an apartment.
and now here you are. a year and a half of sharing an apartment with seonghwa yet the two of you are in your separate rooms. the only interaction you ever made today was at breakfast where seonghwa cooked for you scrambled eggs and toasted bread.
there’s wasn’t much you knew about him at first. but as you slowly but surely try to accomplish your mission of getting to know seonghwa (since you didn’t like being awkward with people all the time), you start to learn a thing or two about him.
you were glad that after a year and a half of staying with him, you got to know more about him, despite the fact that the interaction between the two of you still needed some work.
Tumblr media
[ONE] : he’s a clean freak.
you were feeling tired from a long day of school and all you thought of doing while walking home was to sit on the couch and resume your anime marathon.
you unlock your door to find seonghwa mopping the floor. you nod your head slowly as you close the door and take off your shoes before taking any step further.
“didnt you mop the floor yesterday?” you ask, placing your keys on the kitchen counter along with your bag on the chair of the dining table.
“yeah.” was all you heard from seonghwa as you pour yourself a glass of grape juice. “you dont have to mop again-“
“its a habit.” seonghwa replies simply. with your cup in hand, you make your way to the living room, where seonghwa is currently mopping. you take a seat on the couch and grab the controller to turn on the tv. “hey wanna watch attack on titans with me?” seonghwa was mopping the floor in between the couch you’re sitting on and the coffee table and stops in front of you, raising an eyebrow.
“i dont watch anime?” you furrow your eyebrows and frown. “come on its fun! stop your cleaning and at least watch one episode.” you grab seonghwa’s arm and pull him down to sit next to you, making him flinch a little and quickly placing the mop beside the couch.
“how am i suppose to watch when i dont know what happened before?” you roll your eyes.
“if you find this episode good then you can watch it from the start in your free time.”
seonghwa sighs and and stands up, walking away to keep the mop before taking a seat beside you again and getting comfortable. “this better be worth it. im suppose to clean the toilet right now.”
“that can wait.” you nudge your arm into his chest, making him let out another long sigh before watching the show silently.
[ONE.2]
it was a saturday morning as you went to sleep at 4am. hence, making you wake up at 11am in the morning. however, you have always been laying around in your bed for about an hour or so before getting out of your room. when the clock striked 12, you thought that it would be a good idea to get out of your room and have lunch. gathering up all your energy, you brought yourself out of bed and lazily walk out of your room.
as you walked down the hallway, the first thing you saw was seonghwa cleaning the counter top of the kitchen. you clicked your tongue and walked over to where seonghwa was.
“did you make lunch yet?”
seonghwa looks up at you and shakes his head. “its a saturday so im spring cleaning the house.” you rolled your eyes and shake your head.
“you do that every single day!” you whine. seonghwa raises his eyebrow. “i like to keep the house neat unlike you.” you let out a soft ‘tsk’.
you have to admit, you were not a clean person at all. the only reason why the apartment is clean is because of seonghwa’s habit of being well organised and meticulous. basically everything in the apartment but your room is squeaky clean. although you see seonghwa staring at your room and looked like he’s holding back the strong urge to clean it for you, he doesn’t really do anything about the fact that you are the complete opposite of him. you dont know why but you only shrug it off.
“ill help you today, alright? then you can quickly cook something up for us. im hella hungry right now.”
seonghwa lifts his head up from the table and scoffs with a slight smile. you furrow your eyebrows and frown. “what’s that face for, huh?”
“this is the first time you offered to help. id say thank you but i know you’re only doing it because we both know im the only one that can cook.” seonghwa says confidently. you purse your lips and nodded your head.
“you’re right. but i’ll still help. so, what should i do?” seonghwa tosses the cloth that he was using to clean the kitchen counter. you took a step back as you quickly got a hold of it.
“wash it and wipe the bookshelf.” you let out a long sigh before flashing him a bright smile and headed over to the bookshelf. while you were wiping the sides of the bookshelf, you could have sworn that you saw seonghwa looking at you with a smile and a light blush of pink on his cheeks. you pretended not to notice though, and shrug it off.
Tumblr media
[TWO] : he’s a great cook.
you still remember the first day you came to the apartment. the first thing you see your new roommate doing was cleaning. like intense cleaning. it was late at night and you didn’t bother to even greet the stranger since you felt awkward and wanted to rest for the night.
however, at about two in the morning, you were laying down in your room when you felt the need to have a night snack. you stepped out of your room and went to the kitchen. the whole apartment was dark except for the dimly lit lamp at the kitchen. you jumped a little when you hear seonghwa’s voice coming from the living room.
“y/n?” you turn around to see seonghwa chilling on the couch with his phone. the living room was completely dark and you could only see his face from the light illuminating from his phone.
“i was just getting a snack to eat.” you said as you opened the fridge to look for something to eat. unfortunately, there wasnt anything that looked like it would fill your midnight appetite. you hear seonghwa standing up from the couch at the back and walking towards you. you tilted your head to the back and see seonghwa standing behinf you. you tale a step back.
“i can cook something if you want.”
“no no its fine i just need a simple snack.” seonghwa kept quiet for a moment as you went back to the fridge to look for food again, as if something might magically pop up. but of course nothing did.
“well i didnt think of getting any snacks when i moved in. ill make something.” seonghwa walks over to the fridge and nudges your arm, making you move to the kitcen counter and leaning your hip against it as you watch seonghwa get to work.
you were looking through your phone, distracted when you heard the noise of two bowls being olaced on the table. you lift your head up and noticed that seonghwa made yoghurt with cherries and raspberries. it wasnt your idea of a midnight snack but at this point, anything could go in your stomach.
“thanks.” you whisper softly as you drag the bowl near to you. seonghwa only hums in response as the two of you take a bite at the same time. your mouth gapes open as your head slowly tilts up from your bowl to look at seonghwa. he was casually eating when his raises an eyebrow at your weird expression.
“how.. how does this taste so good? what did you do it? did you poison it?!” seonghwa blinks at you a few times and shakes his head slowly. your forehead creases as you look at him suspiciously. “i never really liked yoghurt but holy shit.” you quickly take another bite.
“i think you’re just hungry. it tastes fine to me.” seonghwa says in a monotoned lazy manner and grabs the bowl and taking a seat at the dining table. you purse your lips into a straight line and grab your bowl as well and walking down the hallway to your room. before you open your door to go in, you quickly turn your head to the dining table.
“thanks for the yoghurt! ill wash the bowl later.” seonghwa doesnt react, keeping his eyes on his phone. you gave a weird look before heading inside. you sigh.
he’s going to be hard to talk to.
[TWO.2]
“its your birthday, right?” your jumped in your seat when seonghwa suddenly appeared beside you on the couch. “uhuh.. how’d you know?” you say softly, nodding your head.
“wooyoung told me. lll make you a cake or something. anything you want to eat?” you blink at him a few times, your mouth still gaping open as you were shocked about a few things. 1. he talking to you in a more open matter and 2. he actually want to make you something for your birthday.
“make me mac and cheese, please! i love the way you cook it!” you smiled brightly. seonghwa smiled back and coughed, only to return to his monotoned face. you laugh softly. you found it cute somehow.
“i wouldn’t have allowed it since its unhealthy but since its your birthday-”
“thank you!” you leaned in to hug seonghwa. the didnt hug you back, so you quickly pulled away. you noticed him blushing again, this time it was more obvious. you shook it off, despite knowing you felt butterflies in your stomach. “ill go out to get groceries then.” seonghwa stands up from the couch and heads inside his room to get ready.
you smiled to yourself constantly as you waited for seonghwa to finish making the mac and cheese. you sigh in satisfaction as the smell of the delicious food fills the air in the apartment. you tapped your feet excitedly as you had your eyes glued onto seonghwa with the pan in his hands. your face lit up the moment the starts walking towards you. you clap your hands as he places it down on the dining table.
“fuck it smells and looks to good.” you moan out. seonghwa lets out a soft laugh, making you blush just from hearing him do that. “if i made this any other day, i would’ve asked you to pay for the groceries.” you roll your eyes.
“come on dont be rude to me.” you grab a fork and spoon, bringing your plate near the pan and cutting out a slice for yourself. “thanks for the mac and cheese.” seonghwa only nods his head and took a slice for himself before the two of you ate together slowly, indulging the savoury and amazing taste of one of seonghwa’s best dishes he has ever made dor you.
you appreciated times like thae with seonghwa. alrhough not much interaction was made during meal times, you really felt that he cared for you. making meals you like on special occasions, and he’s always asking you what you want to eat, despite the fact that he might not be comfortable with the idea, he doesn’t fail to whip up a great meal. you liked that about seonghwa.
Tumblr media
[THREE] : he’s a great listener.
you basically the worse day that day. for some reason, everything just had to go wrong. the only thing you felt the whole day were anger and sadness, more so towards anger. it was late at night yet you were still fuming in anger, only wanting to let it all out the moment you stepped into the apartment.
you unlocked the door and dropped your bag beside you and slammed the door shut. of course the piercing sound of the door made seonghwa lift his head up in an instant. you notice him laying down on the couch with his phone and usual.
stomping over to the kitchen, you pour yourself a glass of cold water. you chugged the whole cup of water fast and forcefully place the cup on the counter. you clearly felt seonghwa’s eyes on you. you look up from your cup and notice him looking shocked, his mouth gaping open slightly.
“what?” you said, running your hand through your hair in frustration.
“you okay...?” you hear seonghwa ask. “does it look like im okay? today felt as if i entered a shit hole.” you huff. you made your way over to the couch, leaving your empty cup on the counter.
“move your ass.” you hiss at seonghwa. he raises an eyebrow and gets up from his laying position, proceeding to sit up and let you take a seat beside him.
you sit down and let your body sink into the couch, laying your head back as you sigh to calm yourself down. “what happened?” seonghwa whispers, putting away his phone and turning his attention to you.
you purse your lips into a thin line and slowly looked up at him. his eyes were filled with concern and his voice was gentle too. he hasn’t been this concerned about you before.
“apparently i got my best friend to dress up all cute and fancy so that she can have a date with my boyfriend behind my back.” you scoff in disbelief, shaking your head. you see seonghwa licking his lips nervously as he nodded his head.
“a shit show if you ask me. i saw him waiting for her in front of the shop i was working at.” you grab the pillow behind you and hug it close to your chest with you digging your face into it. “just how cruel can people get?” your voice was muffled but you knew seonghwa heard you loud and clear. you felt his hand resting on your back, patting it gently.
“its fine. rant all you want.” you took a deep breath and slammed the pillow onto your lap. you felt that it made seonghwa jump a little but he never fails to keep his composure in check. you could never be like him.
the night, all you did was talk, cried and screamed your heart out. and seonghwa was there to just listen to you. he didn’t react much, but he did nod a few times hear and there to let you know that he understood what you were saying. he wasnt so affectionate that he would hug you when you cried, but it felt good to just have him sit there with you while you let out all your anger and frustration. you figured that having him as your listener was his way of showing comfort for you.
[THREE.2]
it was 4am. you and seonghwa have been drinking since 2am. why? you had a bad day and you felt rhe need to destress with some alcohol. seonghwa wouldn’t have allowed you to get drunk but he was apparently having a bad day too and felt like he wanted to get a little drunk to forget everything that day.
“dont you know how fucking stupid that is? it only happens to me. why?!” you groan as you take down another shot. seonghwa fills up your cup again.
“just forget them. they’re being idiots.” seonghwa whispers. you gap your mouth open and roll your eyes. “how can i forgot something like that?!” you shout angrily, slamming your hand on the table. seonghwa laughs in a lazy manner.
“you’re cute when you’re mad.”
“excuse me?” you tilt your head to the side, wondering if you heard seonghwa’s words clearly.
“nothing.” you shrug it off and shake your head.
“by the way..” you started off. seonghwa lifts his head up from the table and lets out a ‘hm?’
“why arent you telling me why you’re drinking? you don’t normally do this. you dont even let me drink unless its a special occasion. i rarely see you drunk.”
seonghwa raises both his eyebrows and sigh. “i had a bad day. but yours sounds worse so ill let you do all the ranting.” seonghwa starts playing with his shot glass, circling his index finger around its rim.
you clicked your tongue. “but its always been about me. you cook me my favourite meals, you do all the cleaning and you’re always here for me when im pissed. i feel bad about it..” you quickly glance at seonghwa. its the blushing again. you started to accept the fact that you had an effect on him, instead of avoiding the fact that he might have feelings for you.
“i guess im always doing those things because...” he leans forward over the table, getting close to your face. you start to grow nervous and your heart started beating quickly. you held a fist to your chest, breathing slowly to calm you down, but it failed. its the first time you’ve seem seonghwa like this. he looked... hot?
“do you know the answer?” seonghwa asks, tilting his head to the side as you watch his eyes glaze over you whole face as if he’s admiring every inch of it.
“no?” your breathing stopped for a moment when seonghwa gets even closer. this time, your noses were touching. seonghwa chuckles lowly. why did that sound so good all of a sudden?
“i know that you know. i wonder why you’re shying away.” seonghwa’s lips immediately connected with yours. you blinked your eyes rapidly as you tried to process the situation. you couldn’t hold back. his lips felt great against yours. its like all the worries that have been piling up in you have been washed away from a simple kiss.
who knew you’d get this close to your mysterious roommate? its a drastic start to a good relationship nonetheless.

“I don’t know what to say to you except I’m sorry.”
Harry was everything but okay. He’d just found out that the girl he had pined over for months obviously didn’t feel the same. Now Harry was a smart man. He knew the ins and outs of his career and who he should and shouldn’t let into his life, which is why he was so baffled that he’d chosen the wrong person to let into his heart. She’d met Gemma and Anne, even a few of his cousins, and they’d all loved her. It was quite heart wrenching because even though she’d just told him the number one thing that would end a relationship, he still loved her.
“J-Just don’t call him baby, okay?”
It’d been almost two months since he’d seen Camille and his life wasn’t really alright. He wasn’t fully over her, she was incorporated into his daily life. His clothes, his thoughts, his eating habits, his favourite tv shows, everything. Somehow everyone found out within a matter of days what had happened, so he got an earful from Jeff. Then he got the sympathy from his family.
The only thing worse than both of those was the pity. When he went to get coffee the barista said she “hoped he was okay.” While giving him his coffee, and then Harry had seen a group of fans and the first thing that was said to him was “you poor baby.” That had set him off. Because even though it was tough, he was not a baby. He could do his own laundry and make his own food. He was not dependent on Camille for any of that, it was just nice to have someone by his side in a non-platonic way. Don’t get him wrong, he still put on a smile as they belittled him a bit. It was what he did.
So currently Harry was sitting on his couch, watching Disney movies. He felt more comfortable in his London home than the one in L.A. so he gathered his essentials and hopped on a plane. He was in a big knit sweater and some sweats. He felt content as ever. He had sort of swore off love when the Camille situation happened, so this feeling of contentment was nice. Inside his home he didn’t really have to worry about prying eyes or people judging him, so wrapped in large clothes looking very small was okay. It was okay outside of home too, but he always had a knack for looking somewhat presentable. He liked to be pretty. As did everyone but it made Harry feel like he was on top of the world. If he had the courage to wear a dress he damn sure would.
As Harry was finishing up he’d decided it was time for a cat nap. So that’s what he did. He didn’t bother to take off his clothes, just lazily pulling himself up the stairs and into his room before crashing down on his bed, pulling the duvet over his feet and up to his neck before rolling to his right side. He’d always been a side sleeper. From what his mom said, at least.
“Peachy! Who’s my good girl? Who’s my best girl?”
Somehow peach had found the other shoe Y/n was looking for, and that warranted some love. Y/n smiled as the Samoyed licked her happily. They were about to go on a walk to explore the new neighborhood. Y/n had judged moved into an adorable two-bedroom, one-bath, yellow house. Y/n was the epitome of someone you’d find living in that type of house. With her vanilla perfume, big fluffy Samoyed dog, and overall happy personality, the homeowner thought she was the perfect candidate to rent to.
Going on her way, Y/n decided she’d take a walk somewhere she hasn’t driven through, her best option was essentially a rich community, but she didn’t care. Her dirty shoes hit the pavement alongside Peach, watching as her dog sniffed everything in sight. Turning the corner, she found the cutest little bakery, and her excitement showed. Walking up to the brick building, she’d immediately seen the sign in bold. “NO DOGS.” Frowning, Y/n looked around. She started to walk to the pole she was going to tie peach too, but then she heard squeals.
“Mommy! Doggie!”
It didn’t bother her, so she rerouted.
“Hi miss, is it okay if my dog loves on your little munchkin? She’s very sweet and I’ve heard your child’s excitement.”
The mother smiled at how kind the girl was before nodding. Y/n brought peach over, and she was overjoyed to see the tiny child immediately clutching on.
After a few moments of her chatting with the mother, her stomach decided to make itself know. So she politely excused herself cursing at her stomach for ruining an adorable moment. Tying peach to the grey pole, she trotted inside the bakery. It was mostly empty minus the couple sharing a moment by the window and the assumed college student typing away.
“Hi, welcome to Wall Street Bakery! What can I get you?”
Y/n had to scan over the menu, they had everything from cackle to scones, so it was a difficult choice. But she’d finally agreed on a cup of whipped cream, for peach, and a half a dozen cupcakes. She didn’t know what she’d do with the extra, but she’d figure it out. Pulling nineteen pounds from her purse, she told the girl to keep the change, and she was on her way.
Peach had, as expected, ate all the whipped cream from the medium size cup. Y/n had a single cupcake before she was stuffed, in her defense, she had four slices of pizza, so this was just a tiny snack for her. She didn’t know why she ordered six, but she knew she’d find something to do with the remaining. She and peach started to walk again, taking all kinds of turns and twists, but not enough to lose their tracking. Suddenly Y/n came to a beautiful White House. It looked elegant, so she stopped to admire.
In her mind it wasn’t really creepy, she was just admiring the luxury. The more she looked the clearer everything became. Including the figure in the window of the second story. He sat idle, maybe reading or listening to music, she couldn’t quite tell. He looked dainty, fragile even. So Y/n knew where the five cupcakes would go. She swiftly pulled out a sticky note and a pen and got to work.
‘Hopefully, this sweetens up your day!’
-Y/n :)
Harry was listening to music. Mainly Stevie Nicks if we’re honest. He’d decided that today was going to be a relaxing day, which means that going to the studio was out of the agenda. Jeff was okay with it, stating that he had to have a meeting with someone else anyway. So Harry had a fully free relax day. So social media, television, and laziness were his full schedule. Harry had almost gotten caught up with his timeline then his stomach rumbled. He got up, going downstairs. He walked through the living room, still hearing Disney Channel from the tv. Finally getting to the kitchen, he started looking.
Now, after countless walk between the cabinets and the fridge, Harry just gave up. He decided to be a tiny bit productive by getting the mail. Harry slipped his feet in the weirdly angled slippers by the door and walked outside. Harry looked like a proper dad right now, clad in pajama sweat pants, a robe with no shirt under, and fuzzy slippers. As soon as he got outside he saw a pastel pink box with a yellow sticky note on it. Harry wasn’t crazy, but maybe this was something from Camille. Maybe a box of his favourite red velvet cupcakes that her mom made, or maybe a truce. He tried not to get his hopes up. He also wasn’t stupid. So there was no way he was opening that box inside. Just in case.
So, carefully, he grabbed the sticky note from on top of the box. His eyes scanned the letters as a small smile came to his face. Whoever this was, seemed nice and trustworthy, from what he could gather from the tiny paper. So he opened the box, just having to take the small piece of tape that was on the box. Inside we’re a mix of vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, and while it wasn’t red velvet, they looked pretty promising. Again, Harry didn’t know this stranger, and he was a bit of a skeptic when it came to random gifts on his doorstep. But for an unknown reason, he felt inclined to just trust his gut. He was getting far too hangry to worry about death.
He picked up a chocolate cupcake and bit off about half in one bite. Trust and believe that he moaned at the taste. When you deprive yourself of sweets for a healthy diet, a bite into any kind of sweet felt like you were on acid in cake land. So Harry forgot all about the mail and swiftly took the box inside, kicking the door closed with his foot. Now he was almost one hundred percent sure that his whole day would be filled with the sweet-savory taste of these cupcakes.
Harry was very grateful for y/n the cupcake giver, whoever they may be.

Y/n felt like she was doing well in life, not astronomically good, but well. She didn’t have any major issues, she was generally acceptable by society. Well, her generation society, cause, of course, some piercing, tattoos, weight, and anything seemly not normal to grandmas around the world was a sin. She got okay grades in school and had a nice job. She had enough money for a tiny yellow house, a dog, and of course herself, so in her mind, she was doing more than good. but for some reason, not having a significant other was the biggest problem for anyone who found out. Y/n had boyfriends, girlfriends, flings, she dabbled in just about anything she felt, but for the past three years, getting her and her pet a life was the most important thing at the time. Now, y/n wasn’t opposed to having someone around. Maybe the cute girl at the coffee shop, her curly hair, dark skin contrasting against striking blue eyes, and pearly white smile was enough to give y/n butterflies as she finished her scone that day. Or the cute boy in the window, there was just something about him. Y/n liked him enough to give him five beautiful delicious cupcakes, so that should say something.
Pop culture was something that y/n was very interested in. Every now and then she’d find herself drooling over Calum Hood on her feed or staring at a paused shot of Zendaya in Euphoria for twenty-three minutes. She loved seeing people grow and she could even say that she was a fan. In fact, if you showed her the music video for Best Song Ever, she’d probably burst in your face with “Niall, do the shimmy, do the shimmy, do the shimmy, and Zayn pirouette and Louis do the splits, and Liam you stay exactly where you are because you are PERFECT,”
Y/n loved things like that, it was amazing to see people get credit when they deserve it. Sure she was heartbroken when My Chemical Romance broke up, maybe she cried for two hours when One Direction broke up, but she got over it. She could proudly listen to Welcome to the Black Parade without crying and she even kept up with Niall and Harry, not like she used to, but she tried to like a picture every now and then. Y/n was a go with the flow kind of girl, she moved on from things quickly and saw the good in things. which is why she was very confused seeing #camillerowecancelled all over her timeline. it was hard to not click on it, but y/n was having a good day and she did not need to indulge in things like that, she left that behind when she deleted Wattpad in 2014.
“Ma’am?”
Y/n nearly forgot that she was at a pet store, social media does that.
“Oh! Yes, hi. I was just looking to see if you guys had any Huskies or Pitbulls?”
Y/n was on a mission to get Peach a friend. She felt bad that the 6-month-old puppy had to be all alone while she was at work, so the only option was getting another dog to keep her company. Peach got on well with just about every dog, so it wasn’t a life-changing decision, she just had to find a dog that Peachy would get on well with.
The worker showed her and Peach to the dog area and just left, for that she was thankful. She had always talked to Peach and she intended to ask her about the dogs she got excited about but she was sure the worker would’ve thought she was crazy. So she walked around a bit, looking at dogs and talking to Peach. Then, she nearly dropped her phone. She ran to the glass swiftly, looking at the tiny pup. It was a Husky-Chow Chow mix, and she knew she already loved her, she had no name yet either. Peach saw y/n get excited and started wagging her tail. soon enough, a puppy was on in front of her and peach couldn’t be happier to see the mini bear-like dog.
“She’s only about eight weeks old, and a lot of work, are you sure?”
Y/n couldn’t believe the audacity of the question. Of course, she wanted a tiny bear scampering around, going on adventures with her and peach. So she signed about thirty papers as quick as she could. She came to the name paper and the question hung in the air. What did she want to name the tiny bear? With Peach, she got a few days to be creative, and the samoyed was just peachy, so she named her Peach. Y/n searched her brain for names until she couldn’t think anymore. Then she squealed. She does that a lot.
Now, Y/n was on her way home, little Pipkin in her lap,  peach sat in the passenger seat as she jammed out to Lana Del Rey. Pip seemed to be having the time of her life, happy to be out of the confined cage. Y/n was, as you’d say, living her best life. She really didn’t have a care in the world. No one could really blame her. Y/n was pretty sure she just scored the cutest dog in all of London.
“Summertime and the living’s easy!”:
Y/n made it home in record time, she's pretty sure she was speeding, but Peach seemed very excited so she wanted them to be able to interact. She put Pip’s tiny leash and harness on, which was proved to be useless. Pip just kept tangling herself in Y/n’s legs and nearly got trampled by Peach. So, Pip got off scot-free just being carried. Peach was sniffing the tiny animal as soon as Y/n stepped in the door.
“Peachy, hold on I promise I’ll put her down in a sec.”
After getting settled, Y/n carefully set Pipkin on the ground, going to the couch to watch the two dogs interact. Peach sniffed Pipkin and vice versa, both faces have been in the butt of the other in addition to their own. They ran around the house for a bit, then the yard. They ate together for the first time, Peach even tried to share her food. They got on well, just like Y/n had predicted, so she decided it was time for a group walk. Y/n put a pastel hoodie over her tiny black camisole crop-top and exchanged her slides for converse, then they were out the door.
Pip seemed to walk better with Peach as Y/n helped guide. She went the same way as yesterday, finding she liked the scenic route even if it was longer. She walked passed the coffee shop, even smiling at the cute curly-haired girl. She passed the bakery this time, she wasn’t feeling sweets today. She walked quite a bit, even taking a few selfies of all three of them. Y/n was excited. She and Peach had a new companion. It might also be the rush of the fact that she's pretty sure the cute window boy is out in his lawn. She tried to keep cool, even almost went to the other side of the street but peach wasn’t gonna let that happen. It seems already Pip has become a rebel because she stayed with Peach. Y/n trained them, but they weren’t like Army dogs, so she let them practically pull her until two houses before his. She fixed herself up a bit, checking that her posture didn’t resemble the hunchback of Notre Dame.
She got closer and she could already feel the butterflies swirling in her tummy. Peach and Pip must’ve felt it too, because closer they got, the closer to Y/n the dogs got. Especially Pip, but I’m sure its just cause she’s very tiny compared to the man, his hand could probably fit Pip in its palm. Y/n contemplated talking to him, which she did until she was nearly up in his face. When she saw him clearly, oh boy. Butterflies were an understatement. it was like a swarm of fuzzy bumblebees was tickling every part of her tummy. Y/n can definitely confirm that curly hair and bright eyes were essentially her type as of now.
“The boy from the window!”
If Y/n wanted to die before it was nothing compared to now. she literally wanted London to swallow her and her dogs until they were in the middle of nowhere with no proof of their existence. Pip and Peach weren’t bothered, sitting idle in the sun. The gate blocked out a bit of Y/n’s beet-red face, not as much as she would have wished.

Harry had decided to go outside. It was a pretty nice day for London, the sun was even out. So after copious amounts of sunscreen, some more presentable clothing, just in case of a fan, and some slides, he was on his way to his larger than the normal front yard. He planned on being out for a bit, so he brought snacks and drinks too. His mother taught him the habit. She always had some sort of snack in her purse and she almost always had those mini water bottles.
He lived in a pretty secluded part of London, but he still wanted to be prepared if a fan came up to him. Harry didn’t want to sound like an ass but more often than not, he didn’t want to take pictures. He was all for living in the moment. After always having a camera on you for about six years, you’d get sick of it too. It's not that he didn’t like meeting fans, he loved it. They made him who he was, but almost every one of them wanted a picture to document that they met him. It's albeit sad, the fact that if you just said that you met him, everyone would ask for proof. Trust does get a bit tainted from fame.
Harry was almost ready to go inside, he was near sunburnt, and if he didn't get inside his mom would scold him. Now some people might think that he's an adult and that he doesn't need to listen to her. Harry thinks different. His mom is such a kind soul but if you make her mad enough to scold you, oh she’ll scold you. Harry didn't like the feel of the cold aloe vera either. He’d kept it in the fridge, it was mean to cool you down and soothe you, but that's maybe a five minute cool. His had been in the fridge for about two months. Then, he saw a fluffy cloud walking alongside a very tiny bear, so he stayed. Even to just get a closer glance at the dogs.
Now imagine this, you’re on your lawn, waiting for two dogs to pass by, but they stop at your gate. You’re curious and, in this case, you think it might be a fan. what would be the face you made if the first thing that person said was,
“The boy from the window!”
It took him a minute to even process the words the girl just spoke, he was on autopilot walking to his gate and unlocking it. He went up to the girl, she looked sweet, she was very pretty and looked like she could model but also like she had just run three miles, her face was very red. Harry didn’t mention it. Instead, he said,
“Pardon?”
He couldn’t tell who was redder. that was an idiot thing to say, he could see it now if this angel really was famous, the headlines would probably be at his neck, making jokes about how he had shit pickup lines, but he did. That probably warranted cheating in his mind.
-
Y/n couldn’t believe she was about to explain that she was being a creep but she didn’t know what else to say, she couldn’t just let the silence sit but holy shit, she was talking to Harry Styles. Her stomach said barf on his feet but her mind said to play it cool, she chooses the latter.
“I, uh, yesterday, I saw you sat in the window, and you looked a bit sad, at least from where I was standing, so I left five cupcakes at your doorstep. I’m Y/n.”
Y/n saw his face shift, but his eyes showed immediate confusion.
“How’d you get through the gate?”
Way to go y/n, you trespassed. You finally meet a boy, well, see a boy, and you fuck it up by trespassing? yay.
“I- It was actually open a bit and you looked sad. Listen, I'm sorry but please don't send me to jail. Pip and Peachy need me to feed them and I need my tiny house I beg you just like punch me instead I sw-”
Y/n couldn’t help herself. From her perspective she made a damn good case, cause no one could take the person who has two dogs to jail, Well, they could, but morally? yeah right bitch.
“Hey, don’t worry, yeah? just let me pet your dogs and we’ll call a truce.”
Y/n didn’t think this could get any better. She met Harry Styles, and he likes her dogs. Not gonna lie, Y/n thought he was a cat person, sure he could be a ray of sunshine, but he had major resting ‘step a centimeter too close to me and I’ll kill you’ face. Her need to scream right now was a ten on a scale of one to nine. Sure she kept her composure and would until she got comfortable, but if she was alone, she’d break a glass. One Direction among, various other artists, shaped her taste in music all through high school. She listened to No Control pretty much every day of freshman year, it was on her morning playlist.
Y/n zoned out, caught up in her thoughts, but when she did come back from the wave of nostalgia, she saw possibly a once in a lifetime moment. Her dogs, snuggled up into harry, as he sat there in all his handsome glory.
“I completely forgot to introduce m’self. I’m Harry.”
he held a kind smile, it didn’t fully reach his eyes, but it was genuine.
“I know who you are, congratulations on the new song, by the way.”
He didn’t miss a beat before asking,
“Would you like a picture?”
Y/n honestly didn’t know what to do. Would saying no be too rude? ‘Cause she did not have the energy to pull out her phone.
“Oh, no thanks, actually.”
He seemed, almost relived? It was confusing. Y/n didn’t meet celebrities on the regular, but she was almost one hundred percent sure that he would have thought she was rude.
After talking and letting Harry pet her dogs a bit more, she, unfortunately, had to go. She let him know, they exchanged hugs, and she said a sorrowful goodbye to Harry. It was weird, sometimes she forgot that people she looked up too were just like her at some point. maybe playing with a Tamagotchi or beating one of their friends at BopIt. It truly was a ‘rags to riches’ story for so many famous people.
Y/n finally got home, after taking a few pit stops, letting Peach and Pip do what they needed to do. She was relieved to see her tiny yellow house, it held a lot of character for one, Y/n even went as far as naming it Lanana. It was a dumb combination of lemon and banana, re; her house colour. Second, her feet were pretty much throbbing. Pip was acting like she was dying from walking and Peach immediately lied on the floor. Y/n also found the rug to be pretty comfortable as she lied on it, staring at her surroundings.
Her cacti seemed to be doing well, probably cause it was fake. It seemed fairly clean, so she didn’t have to worry about that tomorrow. her tapestry of corgis seemed to have come down on one side, but other than that her walls looked genuinely okay, she has yet to put a hole in them. and her books on the coffee table were still unmoved. Y/n didn’t really read them, but who has books on their coffee table that they actually read? The ceiling was pretty bland though, maybe she’d buy something to put on it.
Y/n rolled over and pulled out her phone. her eyes were probably going to hurt later. Whenever she started scrolling, it didn’t matter which app, she had trouble stopping. But she’d get up eventually, if not, Peach would probably maul her if she didn’t get her peanut butter covered meds. Y/n debated going on twitter, but she didn't really want to see anything on there, opting for Instagram, she got into a comfortable position and started scrolling.

Harry was very, very frustrated. He had gotten a sunburn and that scold from his mom. Anne went on for about fifteen minutes about how he’d get skin cancer and how he’ll feel like leather by the time he’s fifty. She had good intentions, but Harry had thin patients. He did keep it under wraps, he had too. It’d be a whole other scolding if he got snappy with his mum. He actually talked to her for ten minutes, more or less, about what was going on in his life and etcetera before his mum called it a night.
He kept thinking about you, well you and your dogs. Sure human interaction was appealing, puppy interaction was essential. Had you been anyone else, excluding his mum and a few friends, Harry would have called security. He just chose to trust his gut and the dogs that you were with.
It was a rare feeling that harry got around dogs. Not like the love you give your significant other, it was less intimate. More like the love you give a child or someone you love very much. Harry almost considered getting a dog. Big or small the creatures were loyal, always waiting for you to get home and following you through the house. They were very reliable and dependant on their owners. Harry thought that was something he needed. Someone to depend on him, keep him grounded and let him know he was wanted. He had wanted a dog up until he realized that he was too busy. He was always busy now. Getting ready to release a new album, having to give his all for it to be what he imagined. He barely had time to himself, a pet would be too much to handle.
Had Harry realized a singing career would jeopardize his opportunity to get a dog, he would have never auditioned in the first place. Harry always had a love for animals. Now, when you hear that you take into account people's fears, with Harry, you didn’t have to. By the age of three, he was trotting up to garden snakes, helping to untangle them from whatever twig they were stuck in. He helped spiders outside and whatever you can think of that someone would fear, he’d do it. Not because he was brave, because if you told him to try and run over a tiny stream in-between the grass, he wouldn’t hesitate to tell you no and throw a fit. Harry was just gentle, in a lot of aspects.
He was gentle when he broke up with people, he was gentle when his bunny was getting ready to pass away, he was gentle when his sister was stressed looking for colleges, he was just gentle. which came with a lot of selflessness. Everything was Harry’s fault, in the sense that he blamed himself for a lot of things. He still blamed himself for Camille. Her falling out of love wasn’t his fault, she made that clear, but he couldn’t help but nitpick his flaws. The was he sometimes zoned out while she talked, or when he had a meeting but she had an off day, he felt terrible leaving Camille alone.  Harry was off.
He wasn’t broken, he felt okay, there was no metaphorical hole in his heart. Harry was fine. Except for when he wasn’t. The nights of alcohol and screaming led to nothingness. No more screaming, no more soft cuddles in the early hours. Harry was indifferent about it.  On the one hand, he was glad. He had calm peaceful nights and his liquor cabinet was almost always full again. On the other hand, his bed felt awfully empty. He still slept on his side, it felt like she was still lingering. Even with the million times, he washed the sheets, she still felt like she was right there.
Harry hoped he’d get over her.

Y/n was running detrimentally late. She’d gotten the best job interview and guess what? She got up an hour too late. By the eighth time she snoozed, she realized she had to be up. So she did some shitty ‘natural’ makeup, threw on a blazer, a cami under it, and the matching pants. She still looked bomb, Y/n would never doubt that. Especially when her confidence needed to be high. So now that Y/n was pulling up to get coffee, she’d regretted getting up so late.
The drive-thru was packed, everyone getting their own coffee. Y/n opted to go inside, coffee was like her push to get through the day and a Trenta should be enough to keep her somewhat lively. She still had to wait in a line inside, but this one was shorter. She tapped her thigh and scrolled through Instagram until she was at the counter. The barista was cute, having cool dyed hair was something Y/n gravitated towards, she could never get her hair a crazy colour, having to work serious jobs all the time. She always had to stick to somewhat natural. She’d rebelled at some point in middle school with bright, neon red hair. Then she’d stuck to natural colours, neon didn't look that good on her.
She picked up her coffee, taking a sip before starting her journey to her car. Well, she was, then the universe decided she needed a cute cliche.
“Oh! shit, I’m so sorry, I wasn’t even looking an-”
“and I just bumped into you, I’m sorry oh god.”
Harry recognized Y/n, and he wanted to say hi. Apparently, his version of hi was coffee spilled all over her shirt. He didn’t mean to, but the profuse apologizing was kind of cute.
“It’s fine love, saw you ‘nd thought I’d say hello.”
Harry caught Y/n blush at that. Albeit she got flustered over the tiniest things. She was quite cute now that Harry wasn’t distracted by dogs. She had a very nice style, besides the fact that there was now a stain on her camisole. She nearly matched the cafe chairs with her pants and blazer. It was cute.
She was cute.
To say Y/n was shocked was an understatement. For once a cute guy wanted to talk to her and she didn’t have to pine over him for months first. It was nearly a miracle. Y/n was a nice girl but confidence wasn’t always her strong suit. She couldn’t just talk to people, no no, she usually had to make an idiot of herself first. With the looming failure over her head and her heart racing, it made it very hard for Y/n to make new friends.
“Oh, for sure, uh I’m in a bit of a sticky situation.”
He held a finger up, signaling her to wait. He was discouraged she’d think he was weird and leave. But after coming back outside, a hand full of towelettes, he saw she was still there. Y/n took the damp fabric, wiping her blazer a bit, the only place the stain was visible was her blazer. Thank god for her camisole being black otherwise Harry would be able to tell she wasn’t wearing a bra. Sure she likes attention but not wearing a bra was solely hatred. Primarily Y/n had underwire bras, they were like hell around your boobs. So she opted out, it wasn’t like she expected to see Harry. He’d probably already noticed, it’d gotten considerably cold. He hadn’t said anything though, so there wasn’t much to dwell on.
Y/n patted herself down, thankfully getting most of the coffee stench out of her clothing. She’d forgotten all about why she was wearing a blazer or her interview. Y/n had her priorities all off, of course, Harry was more important than her interview, logically no, but Y/n wasn’t thinking with her head. Who would?
Harry was trying to decide whether or not he should ask for her number, was it too soon? What if he looked too desperate? The press would eat that up, he could already hear a tacky headline being typed. Y/n didn’t look like the type of girl that would care about that type of stuff. Desperate was surely socially constructed. Harry was obviously in too deep, who cared about any of that? he was gonna go for it.
Y/n was starting to see a difference in her blazer as the stain dried. Harry seemed spaced out, literally. He looked like he was on Mars. Harry looked like he was gonna say something, as he looked Y/n in the eyes for the first time.
She was gorgeous. Sure he’d dated models and beautiful women, but this was like home-brewed, authentic beauty. Her hair looked so soft, it was the type of hair that matched a lions mane, one he could imagine all over the pillow next to him. He liked Y/n, she was cute. After seeing her a few times Harry was almost drawn to her. She had an expensive personality. Not the kind of snobby, rich expensive, but rich with delicacies. She was kind to strangers she spoke to, and her dogs fit right with her, almost giving her a throne of cute, fluffy, kindness. The music in the coffee shop was heard outside, Harry swayed his body a bit to the beat.
“So, since we’ve run into each other a few times, I guess the universe thinks we’re soulmates.”
Harry didn’t need to rip off the bandaid, Y/n had just done it for him. Her smooth words flowed to him like silk, sure maybe Harry was getting a bit stalkerish, but it was all with good intention. If Y/n could be confident enough to say that and smile on, surely getting her number shouldn’t be that hard.
“So, ehm, I was wondering if I could ‘ve your number?”
Y/n was properly freaking out. Who wouldn’t? Harry looked at her with the most adorable gleaming eyes and just how could Y/n ever say no to that? He was her type but elevated. He had the bad boy vibe, but a heart of gold. Y/n liked to think of him as a milk dud oddly. But he and the mild dud alike had a hard, chocolate exterior, but sweet, chewy, caramel insides. He was ethereal.
“Yes, yeah absolutely.”
-
It was now about a month after that. Harry and Y/n were going strong in the friend zone. Every time Harry asked Y/n out she was busy and vice-versa. Somehow the universe had gotten them together, but now it was like it vanished. All the work was now in their hands. It wasn’t as if having a date with one another was work, it wasn’t. Frankly, they really did enjoy each other's company, even through texts. But it was their literal work.
Y/n couldn’t get a day off to save her life. Her boss was a bit of a dick. On top of it, most days off were spent graciously on the couch, feet propped up, and two dogs cuddling into her, all three intrigued by SpongeBob and Squidward arguing. Harry was in the middle of finishing up his album, so most of his time was spent at the studio. His days off were spent in L.A. It was rare that he was in London, sometimes he had to beg for a break. Thankfully he had jeff who sort of understood. So sure breaks were rare, but Harry spent so much time trying to work his hardest that he was keeping himself from it at this point.
Harry had done enough waiting. Y/n seemed right up his alley. Her personality wasn’t too overbearing or too happy, she was a perfect state of nirvana. A calming aura came where ever she went and Harry could almost feel it through his screen. He and Y/n texted about anything. It could be a meme she sent him at three am, in turn, he’d laugh but tell her to get to bed. Or he’d send her minuscule things, like the stuff he sees in his everyday life that reminds him of her. Was Harry fully over his ex? No, but he’d get there. For you, Harry would at least try. Everyone had understood he was hurt but Anne pushed him to be happy for him, so that's what he was doing.
He’d texted Y/n about setting up a little get together, he didn’t want to call it a date, thinking maybe he’d scare her off. Y/n was persistent though, responding with ‘So it’s a date.’ It wasn't even a question, she’d just said it out in the open in hopes that Harry would be okay with it. He was. If Y/n could’ve seen his face when he read it she’d probably get a good laugh because as soon as he processed the text his lips curled up, bringing his mouth into a toothy smile. It felt nice to have someone paying attention to him again. He’d seen a few fans on his drive, waving as one cried, she immediately apologizing for being an ugly crier. There was something about finally getting a date and talking to the fans that put him in a fantastic mood.
He was currently sitting in traffic, just coming back from seeing his mum. The surroundings were a bit bleak, all the houses were either White, Gray, or Black. Harry loved colour. He loved being able to express himself with pleasing ones that coordinate. Sure when he was little he’d throw on a raincoat but put shorts on, but having a stylist most of his life helped. His style was like a grandpa in a twenty-year-old’s body. Not that he cared, but it was a bit of an improvement from young British bloke who thinks he’s cool. Traffic started moving and Harry took his foot off the break, shifting gears to get moving. What was he doing? Well he, was on his way to get a particular bubbly nirvana girl. He and Y/n had planned the date about a week ago and agreed that they’d do something as soon as he got home. She insisted that he went home and relaxed, but Harry was stubborn, assuring her that he’d be fine.
They had yet to plan where they were going, Y/n had talked about just going out and figuring it out when they ‘cross that lightbulb’ and he agreed. He neared the street that Y/n had given him and his mind was getting the best of him. Not every girl was the same but what if? There was always a possibility that it could happen again. Was his heart ready to risk it? Not fully, but one date couldn’t damage him that much. Harry always had a strong heart. When someone pushed him off the slide in primary school he’d said he fell. In Secondary school when his crush Rachel traded him for someone older, he’d let it go. He was strong and he could handle this. Y/n didn’t seem like she was like that.
He pulled up outside of her house, smiling at the bright colour. It was very her. Her windows were bright and open, he could see a small succulent on the ledge inside. She had a well-kept yard and the grass was as vibrant as ever. Considering it was London it could be hard to maintain a yard or even a garden, the weather was always temperamental. He heard the door open, watching as she stepped out from behind the white door. She looked beautiful, clad in some spandex shorts that fit her bottom nicely and a big sweater. It looked like a merch sweater of some sort.
Y/n had a cute little bounce in her step, her hair bouncing a bit too. She and Harry had been on the best terms. They texted almost every day following him getting her number. She got to know him a bit better. She paid attention to a lot, she was an observer. The way he typed and formed sentences was very pleasing to the eye, at least he didn’t have terrible grammar. She reached the car, giving him a smile as she got in the car.
“How are y’love? Hair looks nice.”
Y/n smiled, attention to detail was always nice. They had also joked multiple times about her secretly being a lion cause she’d sent him a selfie after a particularly long day at work the day before. You could see the tangles and how frizzed it was. Harry thought it was adorable.
“Thanks, I’m good, at least it's brushed this time, right?”
He laughed. It was a nice sound.
“Any thought to where you’d like to go?”
Y/n hummed, thinking a bit.
“I was thinking ice cream, it’s rare that London has had this many sunny days, I’m wondering if we should be scared.”
They both laughed, agreeing on ice cream.
“Y’want the aux?” Harry offered.
“Yeah, thanks.”
Y/n hooked up her phone, going to Spotify and smiling as Hey Jude played through the speakers. She and Harry sang along ridiculously off-key and talked the entire drive to the tiny ice cream shop. Harry stopped the car and got out. So far, Y/n wasn’t bad. In fact, she was great. Her happiness radiated through the car, he bets it's hard to be in a bad mood around her. She’d opted for no makeup and Harry liked that. He loved girls with and without makeup but it was a gesture he appreciated, even if it wasn’t for him.
Y/n looked up at the options, she didn’t particularly care for a lot of it, she didn’t want to eat something that had too much sweetness, she’d get a tummy ache. Harry had ordered Moose Track ice cream while Y/n ordered Ben and Jerry’s Strawberry Cheesecake. This was typically her go to unless she was sad, then she buried her sorrows in Cherry Garcia.
They didn't even sit down before they were chatting. Conversation flowed easily between them. They could go from talking about their day to talking about childhood. It was nice, there was no pressure to come up with a topic. If there was silence as they at it was comfortable, the ice cream shop wasn’t very full, it is on the outskirts of London, so they didn't have to worry about paparazzi. They talked about their favourite bands, people they looked up to, fashion choices, just about everything that came to mind. It was nice, Harry and Y/n singing to their heart's content to the Queen flowing through the shop, Y/n even getting up and using her spoon as a mic. Harry hadn’t felt this nice in a while.
“Then he turned and there was a garden snake and I’ve never heard a fifty-year-old man scream at a higher pitch than him.”
Y/n finished off her story, she and Harry had been laughing their asses off for about an hour, they’d been there for about two.
“This is nice, love hanging out with you.”
Harry’s words held sentiment that made Y/n’s heart burst.
“Same.”
Y/n replied, laughing as he made faces at her. This was easy. No pressure, nothing was forced, it was genuine first date bliss.
“Oops.”
Harry smirked as he took his spoon, putting a bit of chocolate on her nose,
“Harry.”
Y/n whined dragging out his name. He laughed, leaning forward. He kissed the ice cream off her nose watching as her cheeks tinted pink, it was adorable.
“You asked for it.”
next thing Harry knew there was ice cream on his nose now too, except she didn’t kiss it away, opting to take her finger and wipe it. bringing the finger to her mouth she laughed, making a face resembling the grinch as she licked her thumb. They didn’t want to leave, Harry would pay to have time freeze and keep this moment present forever. Sadly he couldn’t. They got up, going to the register.
“I’m paying.”
Y/n stated, dismissing Harry’s protests.
Harry had dropped Y/n off, and there was no doubt he wanted to keep her around. He had his doubts but the small time that they had in the ice cream shop was phenomenal. Was Harry fully over his ex? No. But that was okay. He didn’t have to rush, he’d be just fine getting over her with Y/n’s help. He didn’t need a therapist or a new girlfriend, he needed someone to show him that he could have better. Y/n was better. As long as you two kept talking Harry was sure he’d be over it in no time.
y/n; so plans for our next date? ;)

Heart of Gold: PreciousMetalShipping
TW: Implied child neglect, emotionally distant parent(s), implied cigarette use
https://archiveofourown.org/works/29727744
The sky was clear, the streets were quiet, and there were visible heat waves coming off the pavement. It was miserably hot.
Unfortunately, Gold had been shoved out of the house by his mother. She was talking on the phone, and absolutely hated the loud antics he got into… like playing the Wii in his room. He wanted more than anything to stay inside and keep playing, but she insisted that he was too loud, and even threw in a comment about how he needed more vitamin D.
He thought she’d at least let him stay inside on the day, but she must’ve forgotten. Typical.
The least he could do was celebrate it himself.
He grabbed his bike from the porch and took off. Not many people were out, which just increased his irritation with the whole situation. The few people who were out didn't say anything to him. It's not like he could expect them to remember if his own mother didn't, but he didn't care. He was no stranger to holding grudges. In fact, he considered it one of his many talents.
He stopped at the convenient store that Crystal was working at during summer break, locking his bike to a pole. The store's cold air cooled him off, but he still found himself lingering in the fridge as he grabbed two sodas. He brought them back to the checkout, ignoring Crystal's greeting. He grabbed a bag of chips and party horns. Crystal gave him a weird look when he set them on the counter.
"What are the tooters for?"
"It's my birthday."
"Oh my God!" She gave him a hug over the counter, knocking over a soda. "Happy birthday! Oh, you should've told me sooner, I would've gotten you something."
He put the soda right side up. "You could start by ringing me up."
"Right, sorry!" She happily rang everything up. "I could pay for it, as a present."
Gold looked around for a second— the coast was clear. "Or you could give me a pack of Marlboros."
She gasped at him, leaning over the counter to whisper. "You know I can't do that! I'd get in serious trouble."
"C'mon, it's my birthday," he said. "I hooked you up with Red for prom last year. You owe me."
Her face flushed. “That’s different!”
“Is not!”
She looked around and sighed, dropping her shoulders. “I’m sorry, I just can’t.”
Of course she wouldn’t. He snatched the bag and started towards the door.
“I promise I’ll make it up to you!” She called out.
“Whatever.”
He unlocked his bike and tore off down the road. How was that not equal payment? It wasn’t even as hard! At this rate, he couldn’t rely on anyone. He was tempted to just have his birthday all alone, but then the second soda would go to waste. That is, if the kid even accepted it. The temptation to turn around and go home grew stronger, but Gold never backed down from a challenge, even one as depressing as trying not to spend his birthday alone.
He had to cut through someone’s yard to get to the forest. It wasn’t easy to bike through, so he walked his bike through the woods until he found the broken, overgrown fence. He dropped his bike and climbed under, looking around the clearing he was led to. The grass was a bit tall, but nothing he couldn’t handle. All around the clearing were huge oak trees that blended back into the huge forest. That kid should be around somewhere…
Up in the foliage of an oddly shaped oak tree, there was a bit of red hair peeking through the green. Gold could see him lying across a branch, eyes closed. Surely he wasn’t sleeping up there.
“SILVER!”
He jumped and held onto his branch for dear life, looking down at the asshole who yelled for him. Gold smirked at him. “Come down here.”
Silver carefully climbed down the tree. “What are you doing here?” He snapped.
“I wanted to hang out.” He grabbed a soda from the bag and handed it to Silver. “I brought snacks.”
Silver didn’t take the soda, instead just glaring at it for a moment. “Why would I hang out with you?”
“‘Cause it’s my birthday!”
“And you have nowhere better to be? On your birthday.”
Gold scoffed. “What're you talking about? This is the coolest place I could think of.”
“Right...”
Gold shoved the soda in his hand and led him back to the base of his tree. He sat down, finally relaxing now that he was out of the harsh sunlight. He cracked open his soda and almost started chugging it. It was so refreshing, and he’d been dying to get a sip of it since he left the store. “I fucking love soda.”
“Don’t swear,” Silver scolded.
He just laughed at him, handing him the bag of chips.
They stayed mostly quiet while they snacked. Gold didn’t really feel the need to say much, and Silver probably didn’t have anything interesting to talk about. He was a weirdo, but Gold still enjoyed his company. It was better than anyone else’s.
After about half an hour, Silver finally spoke up. “Aren’t you bored?”
“Nah.”
A few more minutes passed. “You have other friends, y’know.”
“What do you mean?”
“To spend time with, for your birthday, or whatever.” he answered, picking at the grass. “I know I wasn’t your first choice. That’d be stupid.”
“They’re all busy,” he said. “And it’s not stupid. I’m having fun.”
“What about your mom?”
“Do you want me to leave?” Gold snapped, sitting up straight. “‘Cause I’ll fuckin’ leave if you don’t want me here. Just tell me and I’ll go.”
Silver stared at him. He wasn’t glaring at him, and he wasn’t shocked at his outburst. He looked… indifferent. Somehow that pissed Gold off even more.
“I was just curious,” he mumbled. “I don’t care what you do.”
“Are you bored, princess?”
Silver shoved him. “Calm down, I was just curious! You never hang out with me, so... I’m just confused about it.”
“Well don’t be.”
“Don’t confuse me, then.”
Gold turned and shoved Silver hard, causing him to fall over. He got back up and shoved Gold back, but he wouldn’t fall over as easy. Silver kept pushing on him until Gold started laughing. “Okay, okay, I get it!” He took a moment to catch his breath after Silver stopped. “Whew… I didn’t know you were so weak.”
Silver stood up and kicked Gold in the side, causing him to just burst out laughing again. “Ow, you dick!”
“God, you’re so weird!” Silver yelled, storming off. “Leave me alone!”
“Wait, wait, wait, Sil! Wait, I’m sorry!”
The sun was starting to set, but Gold was still hanging out with Silver. He was dreading going home, but even Silver was starting to get antsy about going home himself. They were on their way out of the forest when Gold offered Silver a ride home.
He simply shook his head. “Maybe another time.”
They crossed through the yard and stopped at the road as Gold got on his bike. He wasn’t entirely ready to leave yet. Silver was surprisingly really nice company. “You sure you don’t want a ride?”
He nodded.
“Alright. See you later.”
“Wait!”
Gold turned to see Silver smiling at him. “Happy birthday, by the way.”

SIX MONTHS LATER ( LATE JUNE )
School was over for the summer.  Everyone was doing their own thing, the mall having opened up not too long before the school days finished.  Steve had gotten a job at the ice cream parlor Scoops Ahoy! and Y/N had gotten a job at the movies.  Dustin was particularly excited about that, claiming that Y/N could get him in to see any of the new films playing over the summer for free.  She’d rolled her eyes at the suggestion, but didn’t actually say no.  She did get a discount on tickets, and he was her favorite ( only ) cousin.
It was one of Y/N’s days off when she was sitting watching a video she’d rented on the couch, Tews perched in her lap purring contently as Y/N pet the cat.  She had no plans until later in the day when Steve was going to take her to dinner.  So she was surprised when the phone rang, but got up to answer it.
“Henderson residence!  This is Y/N speaking.”
“Y/N, darling!  It’s your mother.”
As if Y/N couldn’t recognize the voice to begin with.  It had been months since she’d gotten to Hawkins and her parents had jetted off to Europe on yet another save their marriage escapade.  The only communication she’d gotten was two or three postcards from different Italian cities.  She didn’t mind, though.  She preferred to be staying with Claudia and Dustin.  Her parents did believe all those awful rumors about her anyway, whereas ever since she got to Hawkins neither Claudia nor Dustin pushed to know her reason for coming to Indiana.  Though, Y/N was sure that Claudia had gotten the skewed story from her mother.
“Darling, are you there?  The telephone connection is rather poor at the airport, I’m afraid.  Y/N?”
Y/N shook her head, clearing her thoughts.  “Sorry, mom.  I was just thinking.  Are you back in New York?”
“We just landed not too long ago, but your father’s having trouble getting us a car.”  Her mother’s voice was filled with disdain.  Which is always the tone either of her parents took when speaking about the other, at least in private.  “How’s small town life?”
“It’s pretty good, actually.  I’ve been doing a lot, I even got a job for the summer until school starts back up.”
“Are you staying?  Sweetheart, did we discuss our daughter staying with Claudia for another year?”  She could tell her mother attempted to pull the phone away from her ear so Y/N couldn’t hear it anymore.
“Another year?  I think my sister would be alright with that if we asked.  I mean, we’ll send money and the rest of Y/N’s things.”
“But she can be so troublesome!  I’m sure something’s happened since we’ve been away.”
“Dear, you’re overthinking this.  Let me speak to Y/N.”  There’s a scoff from her mother, and she could picture the roll of her eyes but the sounds of shuffling objects must mean that her father got the phone.  “Pumpkin, are you still there?”
“Yup.  How was Italy?”
“Excellent.  We’ll get the film developed and send you some pictures, I got you some souvenirs I’m sure you’ll love too.”
“Could you stay on topic for once!”  She heard her mother hiss in the background, more than likely hovering behind her father’s shoulder as he spoke into the phone.
“Yes, apologies.”  He paused, probably holding back a sigh, before speaking again.  “Pumpkin, are you certain you’d like to stay in Hawkins?  I’ll have to speak to Claud about it either way.”
“I do.  It feels like home, daddy.”  Y/N explained.  She’d never felt more at home, more welcomed, more herself than when she spent time in Hawkins.  And now that she’d been there for months and was making progress with her own friends and had Steve too, she didn’t want to leave.
“Alright.  Leave a note for your aunt to call me back and I’ll discuss it with her.  I just want you to be happy, Y/N.”
“I’m writing the note now.  Thanks.  This really means everything to me.”  Y/N scribbled down a note on the pad by the phone before tearing it off and moving to put it with one of the magnets onto the fridge door.
“Be sure to keep in touch, okay?  I want to hear all about this summer job next time we call.”
“Of course, dad.  I love you.”
“Love you too, pumpkin.”
Tumblr media
A few days later, Y/N was getting things set up at home for Dustin’s return from his camp.  Claudia had offered for her to go along to pick him up from the camp, but Y/N declined, opting to get things set up at home.  Dustin’s friends had all called her on the walkie talkie in Dustin’s room the night before to ask if they could come over to surprise him.  And, of course, she said yes.
She was getting a couple of snacks ready to put on the living room table as she overheard the kids conversation.  El would use Dustin’s robotic toys to draw his attention to bring him out into the living room for the surprise.  They talked about it freely because Y/N knew about her powers now.
Tumblr media
It had come two months earlier back in April on one particularly rainy day.  Steve was dropping Y/N back at home and he refused to come in when asked, “They’re going to want me to stay the night too.”  He had groaned, to which Y/N laughed and kissed her boyfriend goodnight before coming back in the house.  Though she hadn’t been able to find the kids at first, she heard their voices coming from upstairs in Dustin’s room.  The moment that she saw them sitting there on the floor surrounded with a couple of objects floating in the air, she was cut off with his door slamming in her face before she could say anything.
They had to tell her after that, Y/N was too confused and had definitely seen what she knew she saw.  But she was sworn to secrecy.  All they told her was that El ( Eleven, or Jane now, according to the birth certificate that Hopper had gotten for her ) had been an experiment as a baby and came out with telekinetic powers.  Of course, Y/N thought it was crazy.  And then El had demonstrated the power for her specifically to understand.
Since then, the kids almost felt like Y/N was more included.  The way she’d reacted to Eleven’s powers wasn’t what they had expected.  They may have expected a bit more of a reaction, but all Y/N had needed was a simple explanation of the powers, a quick show of what they had meant, and then she was quick to believe what it was.
Not that they thought anything was going to happen again, the gate was closed, but if something did happen, they would figure that Y/N could help them too.
Tumblr media
Then, a couple of days later, Y/N was at the mall having finished her own work for the day at Scoops Ahoy! sitting in the break room with Steve, chatting about nothing in particular, when Dustin had shown up, Y/N had was glad that she’d timed her lunch break accordingly and watched as Steve jumped up from his seat in the back to go and greet her cousin.  She followed behind, opening the window and leaning out to watch the exchange with a smile on her face.  She even giggled as she watched Robin roll her eyes and look at Steve.
“How many children are you friends with?”  she asked, before turning back to look at Y/N.  “How many kids does this guy know?”
“Technically, this ones my cousin.  Hey Dusty!”  she called with a slight wave from where she stood in the break room and Dustin turned to her shining his bright smile in her direction.
“Don’t these children have parents of their own or is it you two?”  Robin asked quietly as she leaned back to look at her.
Y/N stood over with Robin who was cleaning as Steve prepped Dustin his own ice cream boat.  He’d offered to have Y/N sit with them, but she’d kissed his cheek and told him to catch up with her cousin.  They’d had a similar conversation the night before, her and Dustin.  She wondered how Steve would feel about the whole Suzie situation.  Y/N was positive Dustin was telling the truth, simply because she knew her cousin and wanted to believe the best thing for him.  She’d been having a side conversation with Robin, whom she’d grown to consider a friend after spending a lot of her free time ( and lunch breaks ) down at Scoops with Steve.
When the line at Scoops got busy again, Y/N escaped into the back room.  She wasn’t technically supposed to walk back their freely, or even at all, but no one had stopped her.
Somehow, she wasn’t exactly surprised when Steve and Dustin came bursting through the door, Dustin sitting down at the table and pulling out a recording and a book.  She grabbed the book quickly and looked between the two of them, “Russian to English translations?  What are you two idiots doing now?”

Shine Part II
BLURB: Will Byers has always been different, but when he has a dream about seven kids who defeated an evil they called IT and suddenly the girl shows up in Hawkins, he is more concerned about what's up with him. He speaks to this girl, Beverly, and with her help he unites The Party with her group, The Losers, to save Hawkins, and perhaps the world, from a greater evil.
UNIVERSE CHANGES: The happenings of IT have been moved back four to six years in order to have the two groups be near the same age. This takes place after the events of IT Part One and Stranger Things 2.
WARNINGS/TRIGGERS: Nothing for this chapter! My hope is that there won't be too many triggers for the first five or so chapters. We're still learning about the story right now, anyway.
SHIPS: There are currently no open ships, but the future will hold Byeler, Elmax, Reddie, Hendercom, and more!
WORD COUNT: 1,231
Part I
It was the next day when Will decided he was going to talk to Beverly Marsh. He'd had the dream again that night, but this time there were some less than desirable details added. Thankfully, those weren't so real as the rest of the dream. He saw her walking into school, but wasn't sure what to say, so he waited. The next moment was before class, but he chickened out and waited. By lunch he was feeling like maybe he could wait a few more days, but when he told his friends they insisted he at least try today. “If we hadn't talked to Max at her locker that first day she probably wouldn't be here now. Don't lose your chance!” Lucas had said. Will wasn't so sure he even had a chance at all. Sure, Beverly seemed loads nicer than Max had, but she also seemed deeply troubled and kept to herself a hundred percent of the time. He wouldn't have been surprised to hear his dream was real, if she told him that herself, that was. It wasn't until school got out that Will had mustered up the courage to approach her. “Hey, um, it's Beverly, right?” he asked, attempting to start conversation. He wasn't really good at that, of course, since he never did this. She turned to face him, her eyes boring into his. He noticed how her eyes seemed to harbour a great sadness, as if a piece of her was missing. “Yeah. You're Will, right?” Will nodded. “Yes. I was wondering if you had time to talk? I'm probably about to scare you away but my party and I agreed I need to tell you something.” “I… I think I have some time, yes,” she replied suspiciously. Will motioned for her to follow him towards the benches where everyone else was. To his relief, she did. “So to avoid keeping you too long, I'll just get to the point. I've had the exact same dream the last three nights now, and you've been in it.” “I'm sorry, what?” “I have this dream where you're in a sewer system with six boys, and you guys are fighting this thing… You call it ‘It’. But it's weird to me because I dreamed it two nights before I met you.” Beverly looked like she'd a ghost; no, like she had seen something far worse than a ghost. “I…” She couldn't seem to get a full sentence out. “I have some drawings from the dream, if you want to see them,” Will offered. “I need to sit down first…” the redhead responded breathlessly. The Party members moved so she could, and she did so with a shaky intake of breath. Will got out the drawings and handed them to her. She looked at each of them, seeming to grow whiter with each page. “These are… My friends from Maine. The Losers Club, we called ourselves.” She pointed to one of the kids Will had drawn. “That's Bill,” her hand moved, “And Ben,” again, she pointed to another “And Richie,” this movement continued as she said “And Eddie and Mike and Stan. We were fighting It; Pennywise,” she stated. Will furrowed his brow. “My dream… It was real, then?” “Yes. Yes, Yes, Yes. We did fight It, and It went away, but we don't know if we beat It. I'd been trying to forget it all. You reminded me,” Max and El shared a look of interest and concern. Will nodded. “I see. Do you know why I might have dreamed that?” Bev shook her head. “No idea. It's been a few years now, Will. I really don't know why that would have happened. I was eleven, now I'm nearly fourteen. You and I have nothing in common. Why is a great question,” Beverly seemed to ramble when she was scared or confused or worried; something bound to kill someone who could have been saved one day. Dustin was the one who put a hand on her shoulder to quiet her endless seam of words. “Beverly, it's alright if you don't know. We were just wondering,” he'd said to her in a way that reminded her of her down times with The Losers. She took a deep breath and nodded. “Okay. Sorry,” Will heard a car honk and saw Jonathan in his car, inching along the curb. “Hey man; you ready?” Will nodded. “One second!” he replied to his big brother before turning to Beverly. “If you want, we can talk about it more tomorrow. The school year is nearly over and then we'll have even more time to figure this out. See you all tomorrow,” Then he went to go get in the car. He didn't wait for a response, but he somehow knew he wouldn't get one. It was just a feeling, really. “Who's the new kid in the group?” Jonathan asks. “A transfer student from Maine. Her name is Beverly,” Will looked out the window as The Police played from the tape player in the car. “She having a hard time or something?” “Or something, I guess. It's hard to explain,” “Harder to explain than how you came back from the dead?” “Maybe…” Jonathan knew by Will's short responses that this was something he probably wouldn't open up about for a few days, if he ever did. Still, he was curious as to what his little brother meant by It's hard to explain. That statement did not fare well in the Byers family, who had seen Will go missing for a week, only to be found nearly dead in the Upside Down, then had him serve as a host for what his friends called the Mind Flayer. It had been a while, but everyone was still on edge whenever Will seemed even slightly off character. Will was fine, perhaps better than fine, but he understood why everyone would be worried after last time. They were worried that the Upside Down and the creatures inhabiting it were still out there somewhere. There had been one in the Byers’ fridge at one point. Joyce had screamed bloody murder, which scared Will and Jonathan both. They had run out to see what happened and there it was; a dead and frozen demodog lying sprawled on the ground. Will could've sworn he heard Jonathan mutter “What the fuck..”, but he'd been thinking that himself so he couldn't be too sure. When they pulled up to the Byers house and Jonathan parked the car, Will smiled. He was glad to be home after such a long day. Plus, he had a lot to think about. “Before we go in, can I ask you something?” Jonathan asked. “Sure,” “What was up yesterday morning?” “I had a dream. A really vivid one about these seven kids who saved their town. It left me with a lot of drawing ideas when I woke up from it and I couldn't sleep until I drew them,” Will explained. Everything he said had been true, though he left out the details that would cause a freak out. After that, they went inside. Joyce wasn't home from work yet, but she would be in a hour, just as always. The boys went to their respective rooms to set their stuff down, then had a snack together and spent their hour alone just talking about whoever came to their minds.

Lost and Found (Halloween)
WARNINGS: smut content, mature language.
Part one
"Goddamnit!" Sorry. You're probably wondering why I'm screaming. Well, I'm writing a 10 page essay that is due on monday. And what day is it? Friday. And to make everything even better, its Halloween. I should be dressed in a skanky costume, drinking wine, and dancing. But clearly I'm not doing that. I shove my hands in my hair in frustration. I've been so busy with work and school, I've been completely cutting off the world. It's a terrible habit.
My thoughts get cut off from the doorbell ringing twice. Shit, I forgot that there's probably gonna be kids trick or treating around here. I get up from the kitchen table and shut my laptop. I reach the door and unlock it. But before I get to open it, a figure pushes the door open themselves and slides through. Oh, it's just Taylor, my best friend. She's dressed as a sexy cat and is obviously drunk.
" Where the hell were you?" She slurs her words and almost tips over. I motion towards the kitchen table and say " Studying, duh." I grab her hand and place her on the couch. I walk to the kitchen and pour her a glass of water to sober her up. I also grab some grapes from the fridge and place them onto a plate. With the dishes in hand, I walk back into the living room and set the items down and rub her back. " Why haven't you been answering my calls?" Right as she said that I whipped out my phone and checked the notifications. I had 3 missed calls from her. I emidiatly drop the phone and hug her tightly. " I'm sorry Tay, how did you get here?" I felt terrible for not being able to pick up the phone. " Stop worrying about me, you need to get ready!" Taylor shoes me up the stairs of my lonely condo. Obviously taking the beverage and snack along with us.
----------------------------------------------
" What about this one?" I say holding up a red, sexy, revealing dress. " Yes! That one will look perfect on you!" Taylor said popping another grape into her mouth. I leap over the pile of dresses me and Tay just went through to get to the closet to change.
Once I'm in the dress I plop myself onto my vanity chair. I quickly do my makeup; a red and gold cut crease, concealer, highlighter, matte red lipstick, I complete the look with devil horns in the middle of my forehead. I pull my hair into an elegant bun with a few curly pieces hanging out to frame my face. I slip on some deep maroon and gold heels. Taylor hands me a gold necklace and bracelet. I spray a bit of perfume and toss my keys to Tay. We both walk down the stairs. Tay tripping every step. We slip out of the condo, slam the door and lock it. Tay has already unlocked the car. I get in and we start our adventure to this party that Tay apparently has already visited.
----------------------------------------------
We arrive at the address of the Halloween party. I glance at the massive house that had at least 600 people in it. Damn I regret this. As I was getting out of the car, Tay was already half up the driveway. In the front yard was people playing games on the lawn, and drinking bottles of beer. Ugh gross.
Tay and I reach the door and walk in. We are instantly greeted with sweaty bodies, blasting music, and kissing couples. We manage to weave our way through the dancing crowd toward the bar. Once I take a seat on a bar stool, I realize Tay is nowhere in sight. Eh whatever. I take 2 shots of tequila. Then I make my way to the dance floor. After I'm grinding up on this tall stranger, I forget about everything. All I could think about was how my hips swayed and how tightly the man was gripping my hips. The man takes my hand and leads me towards the wine area. He grabs two glasses and pours some sort of raspberry wine into them and hands one to me. I take a quick sip. " What's you're name darling?" He steps into the light and my god. He is a literal God. He has a perfectly chiseled jaw, plump pink lips, and dark curly hair. " Take a picture it'll last longer." He says in a joking manner when he realized I was staring. I quickly snapped out of my sinful thoughts. " Y/N, what's yours?" I asked trying to hide my blushing face by taking a long sip of my wine. " The names Shawn, my sweet." Shawn, what a perfect name for a perfect guy like him. " Do you wanna go somewhere more private so we can talk and get to know each other?" I nodded and he interlocked his fingers with mine and started to pull me to the backyard. I held my wineglass in one hand and Shawn's hand in the other. He quickly pulled us both into a greenhouse. He shut the door and flipped on the light. Shawn took my wine glass out of my hands and set it on the ground next to us. All of a sudden, he pushed me up against the wall. " Can I kiss you?" Holy fuck. He is so hot I'm like melting. " Please do" As soon as I relaxed Shawn's lips latched onto mine and it was like sparks throughout my whole body. I deepened the kiss and he slipped his tongue inside my mouth. He reached up and slightly tugged on my hair. I moaned and this obviously made him want more because he lifted up my long dress and pulled it off of my body. Once the air hit my back and stomach I shivered waiting to see what he would do next. He looked into my eyes and I dropped down to my knees. I slid his black skinny Jean's off of his long, muscular legs. I came back up and kissed him some more. This time I tugged on his hair and he growled so low it made my panties pool. Shawn's hand glided down my body to the band of my panties and his magical fingers found my sensitive, wet clit. I bucked my hips and whimpered wanting more of his touch. " Hold on darling, you need to be patient for me okay?" Ugh he's such a tease. " Uh huh, oh fuck Shawn!" He put his large hand over my mouth to protect me from making loud noises. Shawn stepped put of his boxers while I took off my panties. He swiftly took the underwear out of my hand and threw them towards his pants. " These are mine now, honey." Shawn said afterwards. All I had left was my bra and I was hoping that he would take it off with his hands. And he did just so.
Now that both of you were naked, shawn had somehow gotten a condom. " Lemme do it for you, papi." I said seductively while taking the condom by the tip of my fingers. Shawn growled at the nickname I had given him. I bent down to be faced with his hard on, dripping with precum. " Fuck darling, hurry." Shawn whimpered and begged. I'm not gonna give it to him just yet.
I took his pretty cock into my hands and pumped him. I ripped the foil off the rubber and slid it on his big cock. I came back up to him and leaned against the door waiting for him to fill me up. " Darling, you have me so hard for your sweet pussy." A shot of pleasure went through your body listening to his dirty mouth.
" Are you sure you want to do this baby?" Shawn asked with his eyebrows furrowed. " Yes I want your cock so bad Shawn, please fuck me." I say getting impatient.
" Your wish is my command, honey." And with that he thrust into you at full speed. " Oh my god, Shawn!" He was the best I have ever had already. And I've fucked a few people. Damn he already had you close. " Damnit princess, you're so tight, I love how you feel wrapped around my cock." God you loved his dirty talk. " Oh, papi ugh- I'm close." I didnt want this to end. " Come on princess, cum around my thick cock, be a good girl." There he had it he hit your g-spot and you came undone. " Oh fuck! Shawn!" I moaned loud and tried to ride out my high. " Good girl, honey. Oh shit I'm gonna cum, fuck." You felt hot ribbons of cum fill the condom.
You both just stood there catching your breath until you finally started to put your dress on and fixed your hair. After grabbing your wine, you and Shawn walked out of the greenhouse and back into the party.
Shawn introduced you to his friends after that. You talked and laughed. At the end of the night, Shawn went with you to find Taylor. Once you found her, you introduced Taylor to Shawn. " Taylor, this is Shawn, Shawn this is Taylor." You smiled at Taylor and Shawn as the shook hands. " Hi nice to meet you Shawn!" You guys had pointless, drunk conversations and then you said your goodbyes.
" Bye Shawn!" You went to hig him and whispered into his ear. " Bye,bye papi. Oh and by the way, I'm not wearing any panties." You said to him. " Bye honey. I'm gonna miss you wrapped around me." Me and Shawn swapped numbers and walked away from each other. As I turned around you winked at him. " Hurry, Y/N!" Taylor yelled at you. You ran after Taylor to get into the car.
Once Taylor and I were on the road, we were having conversations that didn't matter. " I can tell you fucked him Y/N."
Oh shit.
" Why the hell would you think that?!" I new my acting was terrible because I were blushing so hard. Who cares she can see right through me.
----------------------------------------------
Once I reached home, I kicked off my heels. I walked to the kitchen and started the coffee machine, and walked upstairs. Taylor was already crashed in my guest bedroom. I started to get undressed and realized that I forgot my bra in the greenhouse. Shit.
I washed my makeup off, shampooed my hair, conditioned it to, and washed my body. I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my figure. I slipped some gray sweats on and a pink t-shirt.
I went back downstairs to pour myself some coffee. I left my phone here so I checked through instagram and snapchat. Nothing important. I started to sip on my coffee and sat down at the kitchen table. I opened my laptop and went back to work. This being difficult because of Shawn fucking me less than 3 hours ago. Damn I need to see him again. I guess I just felt lost without someone. He's the one who found me. I'm lost and found.

Our Childhood
Tumblr media
The best times of my life, let me share them with you. Approx 2k words
Remember the time you stood in a row of students and there was this boy beside you who could not stop crying? First day in kindergarten school and you were being looked up to as many by the brave and ambitious one, other parents in total envy of how their child is not as confident as you are while your parents stood meters away from the line of children and gave the proudest smile. Back to the crying boy beside you. His name was Minho. You never noticed it back then but he has the cutest round cheeks in the history of round cheeks. Up till today, he has not noticed how you managed to make a copy of his Polaroid childhood photo and keep it hidden in your wallet to be taken out at any time of the day for an adoring session. "Hey there! Don't cry!" You whispered to Minho, trying not to get caught by the harmless teacher.
"I wanna go home!" Minho continued to sob gently, eyes swollen and nose soggy with liquid.
"But we can play together soon!" Convincing him in the most sincere of ways, somehow he managed to calm down at the moment the word 'play' was said.
And that was probably the only thing you ever bragged about to Minho even after decades have passed, you wanted him to never forget how you took care of him on the first day of school, a complete stranger to you. He would always give the same shrug and warned you to never do that to a grown man crying on the street unless it happened to be himself. One of your favourite songs till date is the melodic harmony of xylophones and piano keys that gently carried the notes of the legendary Canon in D floating throughout the entire school. This meant that it was break time and before you knew it, Minho and you were out in the playground having a blast in the sandpit. He promised to built you a sandcastle, but wrestled so much with the idea he could barely get a bucket of sand to stand. Never did he knew, twenty years down the road he would have been trapped under the sand itself and embarrassed by his four buddies and childhood friend that he had to slur a cocktail mixture of vulgarities to be released from his sand prison. The years of classes involving nap time, break time and shower time soon passed as quickly as the seasons changed. The friendship between Minho and you remained concrete strong and the both of you made a pact to get into the same primary school by telepathy and dancing around a plate of animal crackers. The both of you continued this ritual every single time when it was required to choose a new school and it would always work. It was after much confrontation with your mother years later that you found out how your parents worked closely with Minho's parents to try and get the both of you into similar schools. You have stopped touching animal crackers completely ever since that hideous truth was revealed. Primary school was a lot more crazy and fun. Minho would come over to your place after school ends and the both of you would binge watch cartoon series and snack on chocolate waffles. It was also the time where Minho seemed to put on most of his weight. If you thought you had seen the chubbiest of his cheeks during kindergarten, the sight of how he managed to stuff thirty Maltesers into his mouth and the heavenly sound of biting and crunching into it all at once, chubbiest would be too mild of a word to call his cheeks by. There was this time another male student snatched your toy Pokemon and you were almost brimming with tears. No fear because Minho came to your rescue as he chased the toy thief around the playground as you watched Minho slowly ran out of speed as well as breath. Of course your toy Pokemon was returned to you unscathed but it seemed like a part of Minho's soul left his body as he laid on the floor panting crazily. "R-running.. is not my best forte.." He huffed and puffed, almost ready to blow the straw house down. "I can see that! But thanks for trying." You chuckled at his cheeks as you watched them jiggle when he exhaled deeply before extending a hand to help him out and brushing off the dirt that got onto the back of his uniform. You loved all of these innocent and child-like times. But what you loved even more, was when puberty began to hit Minho. For you, puberty hit way earlier than it did for Minho. Horrifying him at the way you squeeze the pus out of your inflamed pimples until there was a time where he refused to step into your house. When puberty finally dawned upon Minho, it hit him like a truck. "Why do you keep staring at me recently?" Minho asked nonchalantly as he balances his pen on his Cupid's bow, puckering his lips together while figuring out a way to solve his algebraic homework. "Do I do that?" You hid your tone, answering with absolutely nonchalance as well while you eyed at his broad shoulders. "Speaking of which, did you lose weight?" You sat up from his bed and closed the algebra book in front of you. It took you long enough to realise how his jawline emerged under all the baby fat that claimed the throne on his cheeks, broad shoulders that spanned out almost like the wings of a plane and the deep voice that dripped with honey each time he hummed his favourite song. It was no wonder you felt the deathly stares of other female species as you walk down the market with Minho, munching on spiral potatoes and chocolate sundaes. "Are you saying I'm fat?" Minho quickly turned around from his spinning chair and glared into your eyes. Things were just going so great in life. Not till his high school sweetheart crushed his heart into a million pieces and walked away without even looking back. Minho would always come to you and shared about all the romantic events he planned for her. On Valentine's Day, he stuffed petals of different kinds of flowers that belonged to the nearby garden into a transparent balloon and filled it up with helium. The way the petals did a little jump with every stride he took along with the floating balloon that glided through the air was absolutely stunning and you knew that she was one lucky girl. Sadly, she could not hold his hand for long and eventually decided to trample on his fragile heart. It was such a bad month for you because he hardly turned up for school. You had no one to walk with to school and no one to entertain your boredom doodle attacks during integration class. It got so bad that Minho did not even want to see anyone when you visited with some friends. It left you with your one last resort, one that could potentially break your legs if it went horribly wrong. It would be all worth it to make your best bud smile again. You climbed up the pipeline to his windowsill and tapped furiously on the window almost pleading to be saved from the jarring height. Because of this incident, Minho would always snicker whenever you stood near any kinds of window. Which is great, surely, because now there's at least two things you hate in the world so much - animal crackers and windows. After going through a dozen comfort movies, three tubs of ice-cream and two boxes of tissue paper, Minho returned to school the next day and normalcy was restored. Most first love almost never work out anyway and Minho recovered from his slowly but surely. Years of chasing dreams and painful rejections, the cruel world that seemed nothing like how you viewed it when you were in kindergarten. In fact, it made you wonder if the other children were crying over how the future will come too soon. In fact, it made you feel small and childish to be someone that brave. You were struggling through first year of university while Minho continued to chase his dreams. "You should have come to university with me." You pouted as you walked straight into the dormitory without even looking at Minho who stood at the door to welcome you in. "But I like it here." Minho was glowing, although he looked exhausted from all the training, he was in total glee and happy to see you after a whole month of confinement. "But learning is not the same without you anymore." Making your way to the fridge, you were so familiar with the house that wasn't yours, you could probably find the pots and pans with blindfolds on. "Ah come on, you're smart. I'll only be there to distract you." Minho dragged his feet, following you from behind, carefully examining your body to see if you have lost weight from the intense medical school. "Maybe we should have danced around the animal crackers." As if the can of beer you opened was not bitter enough, the thought of animal crackers made you cringe even more. "You? Trainee at YG? You've got to me kidding me!" The man wearing a black beanie matched with the largest rimmed spectacles teased you. It was getting incredibly difficult to spend time with Minho now. You had to go to school and had assignments almost every single day. On the other hand, Minho had to practice and train everyday in the company that he rarely saw the sun just as much as he used to when he was younger and more carefree. But I guess that's what being responsible adults are, even still, there are times where you would want to close all your books and head down with ice-cream and donuts to find Minho's great companion. "Just come down for a second, it'll only take a second I promise!" Minho pleaded through the phone, something that you cannot resist. "Okay okay, just for a bit alright, I have an assignment due tomorrow." You replied, finally feeling some excitement in your life after such a long time. Excitement turned to astonishment followed by a feeling that you have never felt in your life before. "Did you just end practice?" Hiding both your hands into the pockets of your hoodie from the late night breeze as you strutted towards Minho who waited at the empty park. Instead of replying, he whipped out a tub of ice-cream and sat you down on the park bench. The night was filled with ecstatic conversations and catching up with one another that felt all so familiar to you. It was as if time has rewind and gone back to the times where the both of you were kids again. The late night passed and the empty park was starting to show signs of life apart from the presence that Minho and you provided for the past four hours. Light slowly started to touch every part of the area, the morning dew that formed on the awaken leaves and elderly women coming out for a brisk stroll. "Oh my gosh, my assignment!" You shrieked after looking at the time on your phone before jumping up and getting ready to take off. "Before you go!" Minho stood up, got closer to your face and left a peck on your forehead. "You know that I'm always cheering for you right?" He smiled.
(to be continued..)
