I think people need to realize that it was sheer luck that they have been born in developed countries with decent living conditions, away from the threat of war or civil conflicts. It is by pure coincidence at times that you end up being a citizen of a developed country, rather than one with an impoverished population experiencing man-made (because it is man-made in this day and age) famine, diseases that have been long eradicated or war (be it a civil conflict or due to selfish interests of developed nations who profit from these, at the cost of civilian lives). You could have been born into these conditions.
The point is: NO ONE should ever be made to witness the horrors of war, famine, poverty, disease or any other trauma inducing situation in which they have no free will or say about its outcome.

the papier-mache walls of the shrine in kanqah naqshband sahib in srinagar, kashmir, built in its current form in 1633. the complex is dedicated to bukharan baha' al-din naqshband, who founded the naqshbandi sufi order, and is a mausoleum for one of his descendants. the shrine is a site for ziyarat as it contains what's said to be a lock of the prophet muhammad's hair.

I don't know what's going on and I'm not sure I want to find out, but I thought the "people seeking self-determination" thing was about Palestine. Iran is very much not seeking self-determination, it's a theocratic state crushing its own people to the extent that some Iranians hate Palestine just because its government is supporting it.
In this instance, the US and its allies are absolutely at fault because they allowed their rabid dog to provoke Iran into open war, which they've been trying to do for entirely too long. But whatever happens is not in fact entirely on them (for God's sake stop glossing over all the other genocidal western nation that lent their enthusiastic support thus far), it's also on Iran because they chose this. Iran is invested in Palestine and helping Hamas and Hezbollah as a proxy war against the axis of Saudi Arabia-Israel-United States (that now seems to be escalating into a direct war) which has been the case for decades, partially because of the ethnic and religious battle lines and partially because of oil and nuclear interests. The United States and Saudi and Israel being evil doesn't mean Iran isn't also evil, especially considering two of its closest allies are Assad and Erdogan, ntm Putin. If you want to deny that they're also all genociders and despots, I can only call down all the curses of their millions of victims and their families down on your head. They matter no less than Palestinians. They matter as well as Palestinians right the fuck now, because being caught between two nuclear powers at open war is fucking terrifying for the whole region, especially Iranians. This is not a victory strike, it's an escalating disaster that might lay waste to multiple Global South countries in a myriad ways.
Someone said that the US left-wing has realized that US exceptionalism and imperialism is bad, but doesn't understand that part of it is centering the US in all world politics and conflicts and seeing the US as special in any way, including as a special evil or oppressor. If you want to be anti-imperialist and decolonial please internalise that all nation states are oppressive, artificial, post-colonial evils, that the US is just one colonizer and imperialist among many, and its fascism nothing unique. Please follow the geo-politics and news of other nations, especially in the Global South. The only special thing about the US is that it has the most military and economic power and too much influence in the Security Council, but that doesn't mean every other military power and SC member is either a puppet or a brave resistance.
Decolonization and anti-imperialism is learning to situate yourself as just one among many, just another settler colony benefiting from white supremacy, just another imperialist, just another nation state headed by power hungry supremacists. Casting every opposing power as a plucky little underdog champion is just your usual noble savage racism out in force, silencing and dehumanizing the people in those countries fighting for their own rights and freedoms.

MISC ART DUMP 3
I tripped over and remembered I actually have a bunch of drawings saved up for larger posts that never came to fruition so have them while they’re within my brain attention span (alot of this shit dates back to 2021 or even 2020 so thats why its so uggo)
from top to bottom, left to right:
Belarus (chillin)
Iran, Afghanistan (Two greatly contrasting viewpoints)
Yemen, bby Oman (Oman got his ass beat by one of Saudi Arabia’s bros and Yemen got conscripted rip)
Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopia (this is so ancient please don’t look at it)
Tarquinia/Etruria (No idea how accurate the colors are, but I do remember basing the jewelry after actual artifiacts)
Central African Republic/Centrafique (Centrafrique was meant to be a man originally, and this was one of the first drawings I did to try and redesign her!)
Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, South Sudan (Jfc south sudan is yuge)
Malawi (Still not 100% happy with her design, but I still like this!)
Rwanda, Burundi (A Rwandan tourism twitter account liked this)
India, Afghanistan (Fatality)

Now, not even Israel’s most fervent defenders would describe it as ‘spotless’. Like every state, it makes mistakes, it does wrong. But the showtrial of the Jewish State eerily echoes the showtrial of the Jew Dreyfus. Again we see the deployment of ‘lurid imagination’, where every single thing Israel does is pored over and judged nefarious. Again we see men – or in this case, nations – that are ‘lost in debts and crime’ projecting their own sense of guilt on to a Jewish scapegoat. And again we see not one nation this time, but many nations seeking to distract attention from their own inner turmoil through the creation of a spectacle of accusation – only now it’s not a Jew in the dock; it’s the entire Jewish nation.
We have heard quite enough of your lurid accusations against Israel. Now it’s time you heard ours against you. I accuse South Africa of joining the holy war against Israel in order to cynically curry favour with the woke elites of the West. In order to try to repair its global image as a just, radical nation despite its cataclysmic failing of its own population who still await the enrichment and equality they were promised following the fall of Apartheid 30 years ago. I accuse Iran of backing the legal crusade against Israel as a furtherance of its violent anti-Semitism. As yet another opportunity to defame and isolate the Jewish State in order that the Jews there might feel compelled to leave.
I accuse Turkey of backing the showtrial in order to disguise its own past genocidal crimes. In order to pool its genocidal guilt, and project it on to others, in particular the supposedly evil ‘Zionist entity’. I accuse Turkey of spying in these kangaroo proceedings an opportunity to rearrange power relations in the Middle East to its own tyrannical advantage. To strengthen the Turkey-Iran alliance on the back of what they hope will be the international court’s reprimand of the Jewish State. I accuse Turkey of sacrificing the safety of Jews in Israel at the altar of its own demented regional ambitions.
And I accuse the Western left of being the running dogs of all this global Israelophobia. Of forfeiting their right to be treated as serious moral actors by aligning with the demagogues, Islamists and outright racists who have dragged the world’s only Jewish nation to court on the most trumped-up charge imaginable. Of flagrantly abandoning their supposed commitment to anti-racism by whitewashing Hamas’s orgy of racist violence that gave rise to the current war. And of emboldening the fascists of Hamas by promoting the libel that says Israel is a genocidal state. After all, if Israel is guilty of the worst crime known to man, why should Hamas not attack it again, and again, and again, until the Nazi-like threat it poses to the Palestinian people has been eradicated? I accuse you of giving moral succour to fascists.israe

I would just like to say that I won't be posting creative writing or content not related to current events in the world as of this moment.
I do not know when I will resume, but I plan to begin again after the Palestinian genocide ends.
I do have a lot of ideas and things I really want to write, but I'll save them for later when I deem them appropriate. Thank you.

Details of The Wonders of Creation
Iranian scholar Zakariya al-Qazwini ‎(1203–1283).
After traveling throughout Mesopotamia and Syria, he wrote his famous Arabic-language cosmography, 'Aja'eb ol-makhluqat wa qara'eb ol-mowjudat (The wonders of creation, or literally, Marvels of things created and miraculous aspects of things existing).
