#spicy and apparently unpopular opinions

I've been trying to find other book or writing YouTubers to watch/listen to, and mostly I've discovered that I consider liking Red Rising a deal breaker.
There are plenty of things I dislike--things I would never read/watch, writers I think are overrated, movies I vehemently disagree with the popular opinion of--but somehow that has become The Book. (Okay, I'm probably going to have serious doubts about anyone who likes Terry Goodkind, a writer of dubious talent with the most inaccurate name ever. But I'm not coming across people who like his work.)
I think it's because I found it bad in every possible way. The characters, the writing, the plot... they weren't just not for me, they were poorly done. (Also the sexism. Yegad.) It's every trope I dislike done as hamfistedly as possible, in a world that's utter nonsense, written by someone who strikes me (possibly unfairly) as insufferably smug.
Most of the times, with things I don't like, I get how someone else can see them differently or I know it's just a case of it not being for me. But hooboy, Red Rising...
It's not the only book/writer where I'm like "yeah, no, if you think that's anything but hot garbage, we just have fundamentally incompatible tastes (and also you are wrong)" but it's the one a whooooole lot of people who talk about books and writing seem to like for reasons I absolutely cannot fathom.
There is clearly an alternate reality where the book is not hot garbage. Unfortunately, it is not the reality I'm in.

Nintendo will probably do something ridiculous with the timeline placement of BotW/TotK with just enough explanation that it makes sense, and I can make peace with that (although I still think the best placement is off a timeline split from Skyward Sword bc I mean, there is so much time travel in that, and the potential timelines are entirely unused but offer so much potential)

Another apparently spicy unpopular opinion below??
I would suggest reading the whole thing before commenting, appreciate it!:
I decided to bring to light some drag shows that abused the, for lack of better terms, rules/perimeters/laws/etc, that showed kids sexual content, but first-
HERE IS THE LINK TO THE ACTUAL BILL. NO COMMENTARY, HOW IT WRITTEN CURRENTLY: https://www.capitol.tn.gov/Bills/113/Bill/SB0003.pdf
Here’s the part that is the under debate if you don’t want to click the link:
“"Adult cabaret performance" means a performance in a location other than an adult cabaret that features topless dancers, go-go dancers, exotic dancers, strippers, male or female impersonators who provide entertainment that appeals to a prurient interest, or similar entertainers, regardless of whether or not performed for consideration;
SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 7-51-1407, is amended by adding the following language as a new subsection: (c) (1) It is an offense for a person to engage in an adult cabaret performance: (A) On public property; or (B) In a location where the adult cabaret performance could be viewed by a person who is not an adult.” I’m assuming like public parks or near schools.
I’m putting this here in bold, because everyone bypassed my take. I’m fine with drag shows that are age appropriate like this one:
Tumblr media
This performer looks like they would be a part of the kid’s show, Lazy Town. It’s age appropriate, it’s colorful, it’s fun, the costume has books on it, I can see Ms.Frizzle rocking it.
The shows I have an issue with are the ones that stated they are “family friendly/kid friendly” but then do things that are very much NOT, ie the drag bar that allowed kids in, but had a neon sign that said “it’s not gonna lick itself” while in lingerie and accepting money from the kids, then doing grinding/humping motions on other performers or towards the kids, one that was completely naked sans a thing of tape, which was being used to tuck, in front of a child, or specifically one that had a performer have anatomically correct “fake” naked tits being surrounded by a box (like the ‘dick in a box” gift, but with tits) and background performers were in Thunder Down Under reindeer attire while grinding/dry humping, another had peppermint tits then pushed them up to lick them, one had a zipper in the crotch and they unzipped it and something plopped out-I’m actually dumbfounded because someone commented on my post that they were fine with kids being exposed to sexual content as long as it was “fake”. Like...what????
There’s age appropriate ways of teaching kids whatever values you wish: tolerance, acceptance, etc etc. Adult oriented drag shows ain’t it. The Ms.Frizzle-esque drag IS and it seems like it won’t effect shows like that since it specifically states “male or female impersonators who provide entertainment that appeals to a prurient interest”. Please, please, please, always, always, always, read something for yourself instead of gripping onto a commentator. It causes panic when it doesn’t need to. Everything is fine, it only effects ADULT oriented shows and it doesn’t ban them completely, it just keeps them in adult spaces and away from the eyes of kids that don’t need to see it yet.

Face and Heat!
Thank you, Katy!! Answers after the cut...and uh oh, one of them contains some very unpopular opinions, please don't chase me out of the fandom with torches and pitchforks...
Face ~ Your favorite and/or least favorite good guy/girl wrestler?
To counterbalance the spicy-ness of my next answer, I'll go with my favourites instead of my least favourites - from the guys, I'm gonna go with Orange Cassidy! He was one of the wrestlers that got me back into wrestling after so long because he was just so funny and that match with Pac at Revolution is straight up one of my favourites matches of all time, plus his whole International title reign was some of the most fun I've had watching wrestling the past few months. And for the women, I'm gonna go with Hikaru Shida because she fucking rules and she does not get anything close to the respect she deserves - she gives every person she wrestles the best match of their career, always gets huge reactions from the crowd even when her booking is terrible, and she's just such a badass, I adore her! And if TK thinks I'm gonna cheer for Britt over her, he's got another thing comin'.
Heat ~ The worst fan reaction(s) you’ve seen? -OR- Share your unpopular/controversial opinion(s)?
Hoooo boy. I considered trying to do the first one here but...I sure do have some unpopular controversial opinions rattling around in my brain so...it's my funeral!
I think Christian Cage's current schtick kinda sucks, whoops 😬 Most of his promos are soooo painfully generic Heel 101 (insulting the local sports team, I-fucked-your-mom jokes, low-hanging fruit kind of stuff that's been done a thousand times before and I'm sick of tbh) and even the dead dad stuff is just repetitive and lacking creativity at this point - it's more of a meme than an actual heat source (and that's been done before too, he ain't the first wrestler to make dead dad jokes!). Plus, I think the whole TNT champ thing only serves to make that belt look even less important and more like a complete joke? Because the guy who actually won it is apparently AOK fine with some other dude carrying it and calling himself the champion, because the title means that little, I guess? Imagine MJF letting, I don't know, Smart Mark Sterling, carry around the world title and call himself the champ and acting like that's fine and dandy, who cares? Not to mention that this is, like, the fifth time that the actual TNT champ has been completely overshadowed by some other older dude who's managing them? Really weird booking tendency there. Annnnnnd I think the only reason people like him and think this storyline is good is because they're just outrageously horny for him, which I don't judge or anything but still...come on, folks, call a spade a spade.

Give us the spicy Ben takes. You know you want to. Like putting too much Sriracha on your eggs, you want to tempt this fandom. Tell me, Roo
You are either the worst influence, or the best. You are both. Both of those things.
Well shit, okay, it’s Spicy Ben Takes time!
So you know that thing in fandom where Ben gets credited as Klaus’ babysitter, the voice of reason that has managed to keep Klaus alive all these years? The viewpoint that Klaus is going to fall apart post-s2 without Ben there to help take care of him? I’m here to say that canon suggests the opposite is true.
Having someone watching you limits your freedom to make your own choices — or to put it another way, having someone watching you is an extra factor to weigh during the decision-making process. Unfortunately, people are complicated and messy and the Hargreeves are especially so, and so that extra factor is not always going to weigh in favor of making better choices.
And Ben and Klaus are siblings.
There might be nothing more powerful than sibling-induced stubbornness. There was some musical artist that my older sister liked that I said was bad, and then when I realized they were good actually, I kept pretending to hate them until some time after we’d both graduated high school. In turn, because I listened mostly to movie scores, my little brother declared that any music without lyrics was bad and all sounded the same. He had to listen to Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 and the opening track to The Dark Knight and tell us that they sounded so alike that he couldn’t tell them apart.
He HAD TO do this. I don’t have a name as good as the Cain Instinct to describe it, but I submit that the inability to admit fault in front of a sibling runs as deep, if not deeper. It’s something to do with pride, probably, and more importantly the second part of this phrase: you can’t admit that you’re wrong or you’ll never hear the end of it. You aren’t going to fall out of touch when you graduate or whatever, this person will be around for the rest of your life reminding you of this fuckup whenever it benefits them, for forever.
(okay a read more because this is looooong sorrrrryyy)
So, to take a common fandom scenario, if Ben says Klaus should go to rehab and get clean? Klaus can’t just do that, especially if Ben has said it before and Klaus established that his side of issue was that he didn’t want to. If Klaus decides he does want to go to rehab after Ben has been on his case about it, then Ben can claim for the rest of forever that he’s the reason that Klaus is sober now, and that would be super fucking annoying when dealing with addiction is such deeply personal work. It’s a lose scenario however you slice it (which is very typical for sibling stupidity — it’s a fight that you lose as soon you decide it’s worth fighting over).
Now okay, let’s back up and be clear here. Klaus falling prey to sibling-induced stubbornness isn’t Ben’s fault. I’m not suggesting that Ben is actively standing in Klaus’ way, or that Klaus would have made the choice on his own to go to rehab had Ben not suggested it first. I’m saying that Ben’s presence simply makes it a harder thing to do, a larger mountain for Klaus to climb, on a journey that is already intimidating enough on its own.
And Ben is always there. There’s no space for Klaus to go off on his own and cool down and admit to himself that he is being stupid. Irritation can only build and build for years with no relief — irritation on both sides.
So, yeah. Very unintentionally, Ben advocating for Klaus’ sobriety may in fact be a hinderance to that sobriety being achieved in actuality. Klaus might have more motivation to make good choices and less inclination to make bad choices when he doesn’t have a brother constantly watching over his shoulder.
But don’t just take my word for it! There are a few spots in canon that bear this interpretation out. I first got this in my head when I compared the ending of s1 and s2 — instead of leaving Vanya alone, Klaus comes out to join her in s2, which prompts the others to come as well and seems to turn out better than s1. No moons are exploded in the making of s2. Of course Ben is not the only difference in the situation, and of course we don’t know if Klaus would have made a similar choice if Ben was there advocating for it. What we do know for sure is that Klaus is capable of making good choices on his own.
We also see a couple of times that following Ben’s advice is not always a great choice. In s2, telling the cult the truth doesn’t do anything useful, and going after Luther in 1x07 gets Klaus killed. It seems like the time that Klaus was living his most well-adjusted healthiest life was when he was in Vietnam, without Ben.
This is all to say that no, Klaus does not need Ben to be able to take care of himself. There’s more reasons to believe that Klaus will fare better without Ben’s constant presence. Surely there are aspects of his life that will be sadder, and emptier, without the brother that was such a fixture of his life for so long. But there will absolutely be parts of his life that are better, too. That’s one of those things that makes loss and grief so painful and guilty, isn’t it?
So actually maybe this is all to say, I would really love to see some more fandom takes that explore this complicated, flawed dynamic, and less of the one-dimensional ‘Babysitter Ben’ trope. Ben Is a Nuanced Individual With Flaws and Whose Actions Sometimes Cause Unintended and Unfortunate Consequences, and All of This Makes Him More Interesting and None of it Makes Him Evil 2k21!! (is that still a thing people do?)

HEY!! I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE A UNHOLYC LOVERS WRITER!!! AND A GOOD ONE AT THAT!!!I swear it's so hard to find fanfics or oneshots of the game Eventhough it's so amazing and don't get me started on the charecters even the mc- unlike other games, has a personality and she is frikin Adorable and I relate to her so much (her appearance is unique too🥰) 🥺 whereas other otome games make the mc a no personality basic self insert that's apparently supposed to help you imagine yourself in them but does the exact opposite 🤕🤞 ALSO I SAW YOUR POST OF SIU'S ROUTE AND THERE IS ACTUALLY AN ENDING WHERE YOY END UP EITH HIM (IN SOL'S ROUTE OFC) BUT I DONT WANT TO DO IT CUZ I DONT WANT TO UPSET OR MAKE MY SOL SAD 😟☝️‼️ ALSO THE BUTLER IS MY FAV TOO I CANT WWIT FOR HIS ROUTE I AM 100% SURE ITS GONNA BE SPICY TOO😭😭
Another thing is the fact that william has 200 years of experience of- (ifyk yk) but he stopped after he became Mir's butler?? Because habits are very hard to let go of especially sexual ones *wink* *wink* so the fact that he stopped- idk maybe he got bored of railing but I am a strong believer it's because of his love for mir🥺🥺
Sorry this is long I was just excited to find someone (especially a writer) that also loves unholyc lover it's the best otome game in my opinion tbh. YOUR WTITING IS ALSO SP GOOD??? YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I WAS STARVINGGG BEFORE I DISCOVERED YOUR CONTEBT 🥺🥺SO HAPPY!!1!1!
¿Unpopular or popular opinion?
: unholyc lovers should be more famous than mystic messanger because first of all
- the art is so detailed and amazing
- the charercters are just so unique
- THE MC ISNT BASIC AND BORING
- she doesn't change for the characters (to gain favourabilty of the charecters it's more like increasing your interactions with them and while there is diffrent options for charecter's likeability the mc's charecter doesn't change that much except preference and such which is supposed to be picked by us <3)
- the animation??hello?😐⁉️
Anyways thank you for coming to my ted talk hope this wasn't annoying 🥰💞
Aww thank you so much, that’s so sweet! I’m always self-conscious of my writing so hearing people say they see it as good writing always helps so much ❤️❤️ I’m glad you’re enjoying my works!!!
YESSS this game deserves so much more recognition than it gets! The characters are just so well done and every one has a different personality… ugh it’s just *chefs kiss* the bins between them too - it’s so beautiful. Their friendship is so adorable… especially when Sol fangirls over Hi - it’s so cute!
Nooo! I don’t want to hurt Sol’s feelings 😭 but I’m afraid some sacrifices must be made😮‍💨 I’m sorry sol… I’m coming for Siu and nobody can stop my… except for the guilt I’m going to feel.
WILLIAMS ROUTE IS GONNA BE SPICY AS HELL I CAN ALREADY FEEL IT 😯 I’m just wondering how it’s going to play out. Will it be the same premise of getting MC through the week again or is it going to be a totally different plot. I’m so excited to see what they came up with!!
He gave up so much for Mir 🥺 which is why I have no doubt that out of all the characters, he’s be the best one for her. Sure the other characters definitely love her but William… he just knows her like the back of his hand you know! Ugh he deserves to be happy 😭😭😭
NGL EATERS ROUTE I AM EVEN MORE EXCITED FOR. IMAGINE THE ANGST, WILLIAM DISAPPROVING, ALL THE UNHOLYCS BEING LIKE WTF??? OMG MIR VILLAIN ARC?? So many possibilities and it’s going to be so SO SO SPICY!
Omg YES they deserve more popularity! If not more famous than MysMes, at least have a similar kind of popularity. Both are executed so well, but I feel like Unholyc was executed a bit better. Especially when it comes to the depth of the characters and the MC.
Pls! The Mystic Messenger MC is SO bland like??? And I love how the Unholyc MC doesn’t change for any of the characters like she does in Mystic Messenger and she’s willing to call out bullshit when she sees it. She makes it clear she’s staying the way she is and I feel like if she did become like the MysMes MC, William would not be having any of it. He would either remind Mir of her worth or he would take it out on her partner 😳 Plus the way he keeps reminding Mir she’s “better” than the boys is just so funny but sweet 😭 he cares die her so much ugh.
I feel like if Mir was in Mystic Messenger, she’d end up calling out
Yoosung for his obsession with Rika and him constantly comparing MC to her. It’s not cool yoosung… and it’s weird.
Jumin for being an obsessive asshole - as much as I love him, I hated sticking up for him in the chat in order to get his good end. Especially when he was being unreasonable. MC was practically his prisoner, there’s no other way to look at it.
Zen for being so narcissistic. I’m not gonna lie his route is one of my favourites because he genuinely shows he cares - at least more than the other characters - but his narcissism did get annoying after a while. Loving yourself is okay, but there’s a limit 😭😭 I wish they gave him more depth than just problems with his family and narcissism.
7… my boy has no flaws 😡. The only thing I hate is doing different routes ever since Cheritz said he is in love with MC in every route 🥲 …. I can’t stop flirting with him.
V… gtfoh. We get it, you loved her… but you need to let go 😒 losing your sight over a cult leader isn’t worth it, boy.
Jaehee… I love you, but you need to stick up for yourself bby. And you’re gay 🙄
OMG THE ART IS JUST AMAZING LIKE OOF.
It’s just so colourful and pretty! The art style is amazing in so many ways - I’m in love with it!!!
Don’t worry Anon! You were not being annoying I actually love when people send me these type of asks!

no because i am so excited about tonight's episode. i want more Kat scenes, and i want my girl Maddy to kick C*ssie's ass.
Well apparently Kat is on the back burner this season because she dared to criticize Sam Levinson (along with the McKay actor and that's why he's not going to be in the rest of the season) so...
That sucks because unpopular opinion but I like Kat and honestly, her storyline was one of the more interesting ones imo. Even now I find it really interesting how porn and sex work and reading/writing hardcore smut influenced her idea of sex and relationships and what they should be like. Way more interesting than Cassie being a shit friend with bubbles for brains and Nate "changing" for the blonde haired blue eyed white girl while Maddy was treated like a spicy Latina fantasy he could take his frustrations out on because that's supposedly a big focus this season

Last song: Morado - J Balvin
Last series: I started Luoyang but it got annoying so I stopped, though I forgot to cancel the iqiyi subscription, might as well finish it I suppose
Last movie: Encanto (unpopular opinion: I didn’t like it at all)
Sweet, savoury, or spicy: Sweet always
Currently working on: Several pieces for lwj’s bday, thought I was done but apparently I need more, a gifset for lzs bday, my first multichapter fic (!), a crayon landscape as a gift to my grandma and art practice in general

I’m sure you must have answered this before but what’s your favorite route? Which three houses lord is your favorite? Do you have any personal headcanons?
Oohh
Favourite lord: Claude. But I love all three a lot; all of them are in my top 5 (ish) for sure. I honestly always thought they did a great job making all lords easy to love, but I suppose that's a pretty controversial opinion, lol.
Favourite route: Well, I had the most fun with CF. I don't think it's objectively the best route, but after playing FE for years, I appreciated how CF has a different approach to what we're used to. Also, Hubert is my favourite, and I like having him as my ally. Again, though, I think all routes have something interesting/fun. VW was my first route, and I was convinced it would stay my favourite, haha. But yeah.
I’m also glad we don’t have a golden route. I like that we have four different outcomes that are all filled with losses and tragedies, that we have to make decisions that aren't 100% fair for everyone. It’s just more realistic that way.
Headcanons: I have many, but here are a few off the top of my head:
- Edelgard, Dimitri and Rhea have survivor’s guilt. Well, I suppose that’s just plain canon, but the game never directly acknowledges that’s something all three of them have in common. I like seeing their actions through that lens, though, because you want to compare them to each other anyway & parallels like that are especially fascinating.
- Ferdinand doesn’t have freckles. I’m sorry, but I’ve seen this so often in fanart and fanfic that I have to bring it up here, lol.
- Felix’s mother has reddish brown hair (a bit like his eye colour).
- Ferdinand and Hubert are a bit jealous/envious of each other. Pre-TS, Ferdinand is actually pretty unpopular. He doesn’t have close relationships at Garreg Mach, and the only characters who are friendly towards him are Petra and Lorenz. (We see him the most often with Petra, but it’s clear Ferdinand and Lorenz were always meant to be besties.)
But Edelgard and Hubert are actually the two characters he’s the most “interested” in; they’re the ones he will repeatedly mention outside their supports, no matter the route. I think it’s only natural that he would be jealous of their apparent closeness and trust in each other.
About Hubert: he can be surprisingly self-depreciating, and I like to imagine he can’t help but compare his looks to Ferdinand’s then and now.
I don’t think they ever hated each other, but since the game shoves their contrasts and parallels in our faces, there’s just so much that could make their dynamic more complex and spicy.
- Dimitri wasted no thought on romance during the course of the game, and he probably has something like a second puberty after the war. I always thought the strong appeal of his character is how many meaningful platonic relationships he has. They all seem so effortlessly intimate.
- Claude is scared of emotional intimacy.
- Edelgard craves intimacy, but she's very bad at it.
- Felix occasionally carries treats for the monastery cats with him.
- Characters who always smell amazing: Hilda, Claude, Ferdinand, Dorothea, Sylvain and Shamir.
- Hubert breeds poisonous frogs <3

For the shipping ask - Xioven (if that’s their right name, I don’t play Genshin) and Natshig
hi dear!!!! hope you’re doing well 💜💜
[send me a bnha or genshin ship and i’ll answer some questions based on whether i ship it!]
xiaoven!!! yessssssss i ship it so much 🥺🥺
What made you ship it?
i started playing genshin right around the time xiao was coming out? just a little before. and they had this preview (x) for xiao’s story basically outright stating that xiao hearing venti play the flute is what brought him back from succumbing to his karmic debt and like if that ain’t ship material i have no idea what is???
What are your favorite things about the ship?
venti is SO chaotic and xiao is SO reserved and both of them have trauma they’re coping with (both poorly tbh) but like. the beauty of them as a ship is they are so apparently polar opposite on the surface and it makes for a fun dynamic even in short fics but makes for a really deep and meaningful development of a relationship and of characters in a longer fic? and i tend to think a Lot in terms of fic lmaooo just like. i love the grumpy one being soft for the sunshine one slkdfjksdjf
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
hmmm idk if this is unpopular? but i personally don’t find the idea of writing smut or anything particularly spicy for them very natural? like to me they just exude soft love vibes sdflkjsdfljsdf but idk if that’s unpopular?
natshig!!!!!! the bois!!!! yes i do absolutely ship them 👏👏👏
What made you ship it?
someone sent in an ask many moons ago actually? (x) and it like. had never even occurred to me as a ship before that point, but i started running with it and like. ended up with a 28k fic (x) later on and a few others that also featured them lmaoooo
What are your favorite things about the ship?
i think half of the fun is the crack of it all? like the country’s most notorious villain and the number one hero’s kind-hearted son??? i mentioned it in that first ask i got but like the idea of how they’d even meet??? is hilarious??? and at a deeper level, i love the idea of shiggy having someone in his life who’s like...idk just a nice person. who doesn’t want anything from him, just cares. cares in spite of who he is. and for natsuo, the boi deserves a little danger??
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
mmm i don’t run in the natshig circle that much so idk what unpopular opinions even are lmaooooo i don’t have a large number of opinions on them at all to begin with? idk maybe this is unpopular who knows but i don’t particularly love the idea of natsuo dating shiggy just to spite his dad? like maybe at first but long term it’d have to be for deeper reasons for me to find it a satisfying story/relationship development sdlfjksldf
[send me a bnha or genshin ship and i’ll answer some questions based on whether i ship it!]

Since you like unpopular opinions so much, may I ask for more Sonic unpopular opinions, 30th anniversary edition? :P
Ohh, Latin coming in asking for spicy takes out of nowhere :P
I’m probably going to repeat myself, but anyway...
- I have fun with ShTh. I had more pleasure in all-A-ranking that game than even attempting to try new missions in Adventure 2. I will never call it a good game and I completely understand why it’s considered among the very worst titles in the series, but fuck it I find it oddly adorkable and sometimes I feel the need to complete one of its absurd paths.
- Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic Advance 3 are my favorite 2D games in the series and I love replaying them. Sonic 1, the Rush duology and Mania would come in second place, then CD and Advance 1, then 2 and Advance 2 (apparently I have a thing against sophomores lol)
- To expand on this, I think Sonic 1 is not a great Sonic game, but a very good game overall. Sonic 2, on the other hand, may have refined the Sonic formula and fixed many of S1′s flaws (such as reducing the number of acts from 3 to 2 to allow for more zones), but I feel like it’s barely as half as fun to play as Sonic 1.
- Marble Garden is one of my favorite levels in S3&K, I love how big it is and all the gimmicks and how Eggman straight up destroys these important ruins for the sole purpose of killing Sonic. Conversely, Stardust Speedway may be my least favorite level in the Classic series because it’s so incompetently designed - it’s not even “gotta go fast: the level”, it’s “where in the fuck are you sending me now, please let me go this way NONONONO DON’T HIT THE SPRING”. I find it very ironic then, not to mention satisfying, that in Mania SS Act 1 is a reskin of Marble Garden, just as it deserves :> (I still genuinely think MG should have been remastered in place of Hydrocity, which is so good in the original that the Mania devs only worsened it)
- I don’t really care for an Adventure remake because 1) it already had one, it’s Adventure DX, other games need it more (hello heroes), and 2) it’s such a polarizing game that how would you even “fix” it without pissing off half of the fanbase? Same thing with an Adventure 3 (or 4, more correctly :P) - considering how different the first two Adventures are, which characteristics should another title have? It’s too complicated, for me I’d just pick Sonic’s gameplay style in SA1 and build a game around that.
- There is no Sonic game with a good plot. No, not even Adventure and Unleashed, although I do agree that they’re the best written games. Remember that best doesn’t necessarily mean good and worst doesn’t necessarily mean bad.
- RCS is my favorite Sonic voice actor in the games, and he’s been consistently good since his debut unlike Drummond and Griffith. If you have a problem with the things he says, that’s not his fault.
- Lost World has some of the best characterization for Sonic and Eggman, and the idea of “Sonic almost dooms the world due to his character flaws” is great. Props too for having Sonic emote and show actual sadness, regret and anger, especially during an era where it seems like he’s only allowed to be cocky. I also don’t mind Tails being snarkier and meaner... I just wish the finale proved him wrong (and also wasn’t written with a pen stuck in a buttcrack).
- Elise did not deserve all the hatred she got for years. She’s as bland as a piece of bread left on the table for the entire night, but her concept is interesting and she doesn’t really do anything bad (or anything at all). also for the love of any god you believe in stop with the kiss jokes it’s not bestiality and it’s not necrophilia and it’s not sonic “making out with a princess” AAAAAAAAAAAA
- I don’t mind Boom’s characterizations because, in my head, those characters are not “really” the same as the ones in the game canon. Yes, in any other context, Boom!Knuckles would be beyond OOC, but... I don’t really register him as Knuckles? So I like his pseudo-Kronk personality. Same with Eggman and him being reduced as the village bully. (I don’t even know how unpopular is this opinion, but I know some people don’t like Boom due to how different the characters are)
- Eggmanland is probably in my top 10, if not top 5, favorite levels in the franchise. Too many difficult levels in Sonic are difficult because they’re cheap (Scrambled Egg, Cannon’s Core) or have some questionable design choices (Lost Impact, End Of The World), btu Eggmanland somehow, even the very first time I played it in 2009, felt like that kind of difficult that pushed you forward to try again and again. I never managed to get more than an A-rank, but it’s the best climax I’ve played in a Sonic game <3
- Sonic isn’t dead, dear youtubers who love making doom-and-gloom videos about Forces killing the franchise. Stop. You aren’t interesting. And while I’m at it, stop gushing about a game by shitting on others. If you want to say that Unleashed is great, you can say “Unleashed is great” without adding “unlike Lost World and Forces which suck ass”. Believe me.

spicy unpopular(?) opinions
-I don’t think BW2 are better than BW. Personal preference wise I mean. I think they’re great games but don’t get why some people act like they’re the best games in the main series or the definitive unova experience. They’re good sequels with better gameplay and more stuff to do, but I have so much nostalgia for BW because of the characters, soundtrack, quotability, and interesting/actually thought out evil team concept they introduced. It feels like they genuinely cared and gave their all in these games and I can’t bring myself to overlook that just because BW2 are more polished.
-While the ‘N is a zoroark’ theory is cool and definitely explains some things that aren’t easy to dismiss (memory link and castle ruins incidents), I feel like it detracts from his character. Cause you could so easily take it and be like “yeah and he talks weird too! the way he speaks and acts is a bit off and stilted and it would make so much sense if he were a pokemon trying to pass as human!” It could so easily be spun into. “If this character turned out to be non human I wouldn’t be surprised” and that’s why he should be nothing but human imo. Even if N himself seems to question it. Hell, BECAUSE he seems to question it!!
In BW2 he says something like “Unova is the place I learned to live as a human” and that’s a bit sus isn’t it. If you were really 100% human why would you say that? Maybe cause you were raised by an evil asshole who called you a “freak without a human heart.” Brought up in an isolated environment separated from everyone else. Your separateness constantly reinforced and emphasized and burned into your mind. And when you finally get to leave the castle it’s only more apparent, cause you weren’t taught to talk like a ‘normal person’ and maybe you’d still come off as a bit odd even if you were, some people are just like that You observe people and see that none of em talk or act or feel like you and you get weird looks from them because of it. So you can’t help but wonder if he was right on some level. Maybe you are a freak, maybe you aren’t human enough. Listen, I had a conspiracy theory about being an alien as a kid. This isn’t too hard to imagine. N, my dude, you didn’t learn to live “as a human” you just learned to live as yourself free of Ghetsis’ manipulation. You’re so human, perfectly human. He’s wrong about you. See the weight this has? The potential for meaning? See how deep into the feels zone you can go with it? ‘N was a zoroark all along!’ could never. Is it intriguing from a lore standpoint? Of course. But at what cost.
-I don’t like Hugh as a rival. They had the right idea giving him a touch of backstory and unique motive, but that doesn’t make up for the fact that his entire personality is that he hates team plasma. Name one trait he has other than ANGERY or *hates team plasma*. Determined and protective of his family? Sure FINE. But he talks like an edgy anime character. And unlike Gladion who leans into that all the way for comedic effect and becomes loveably edgy, it’s played like you’re supposed take him seriously even tho it’s all he ever talks about. We get it, you want revenge on team plasma. It’s not healthy to make that your whole identity dude. Please get a hobby. he’s literally just worse gladion

I am once again being on brand as possible and begging you to rant about Baptiste for the send me a character game.
I once again owe you my life for playing along
First impression
We’re getting into the deep anteater lore rn, but I started playing overwatch for Orisa, then I branched out to Lúcio because his controls seemed the most intuitive to me and then I forced myself to play like 30 hours of very mediocre Baptiste because I liked his character enough to suffer for the boy ...
Impression now
I’ve taken detours through a lot of heroes, but as far as gameplay go I’m back on that Bap juice. I am protective of my Brig main identity (a cringe fail move, I know), but I probably play as much comp Bap as I play Brig these days. As for his character I am stil just brihwwihgfdqhigdqbidajbd for this man
Favorite moment
Ok so ow canon doesn’t have much in terms of moments, but his short is delightful all the way through and I am very partial to the sizable chunk in the beginning dedicated to letting the reader know that Bap is, indeed, very pretty. I’m also very fond of the ‘everyone sign their life insurance policy?’ set up voice line ... there’s so much character in the delivery
Idea for a story
I’m actually working on two different Bap centric things rn. One is a McBap thing about how they both (re)turn to overwatch. It’s a semi fakedating thing too, and it’s fun to work on even if it’s slow going. The other is a combined Bap character study and McBapZo get together fic featuring a healthy dose of snowed in together and there was only one bed ...
But honestly there are so many interesting things you could do with Bap. Somebody write an epic about this dude please, he’s so interesting and nice and has so many solid connections to explore
Unpopular opinion
I guess the whole ‘aggressively ship him with McCree’ thing is pretty uncommon? (also, unless you don’t have eyes this shouldn’t be controversial, but Bap is the prettiest of the ow men)
Favorite relationship
Him and Sombra are beyond amazing, and I’m fairly intrigued by how him and Angela have interacted and what they think of each other? Mauga too, obviously, is a strained and complex connection that does make me go feral. Also also, snark meister #1 and #2, Widow and Bap being forced to hang out and fucking hating every second of it is a very spicy thought
Favorite headcanon
Related to the above, but I love the idea that he’s very nice and social and good, but also viciously, horrifically smart. It takes a lot to get on his bad side but he’ll tear you apart verbally if you manage to get there.
And completely unrelated note because I can’t hear apparently
I was looking up voice lines to make sure I got it right, and I never knew that one of his respawn voice lines was Haitian creole (Ann kenbe atitid pozitif lan) I had fully accepted he’d had some long conversations with Lena and said ‘I’m keeping the attitude positive, love’

Samson for the character break down!
How I feel about this character:
Tumblr media
No but for real I am apparently a massive emotional masochist, and have enough feelings about Raleigh Samson to fill up an entire manifesto 😅
Seriously, sorry y'all, this is about to be LONG. Lara what have you done.
Here are some brief highlights to start I guess:
I really love his gritty sort of down-to-earth attitude. He doesn't see himself as better or worse than anyone else. He is where he is in life, and so are the people around him, and he doesn't really seem to get hung up on the pretenses surrounding all of those things.
If you haven't read Paper and Steel you really should, because a lot of my feelings about Samson and his values really just magnified a whole lot after reading his story. He has such a profound sense of loyalty to his men, and it's really apparent the further you get just how much of a sense there is that he made his decisions and he's doing the best with the lot he's been cast. Maybe they weren't the "right" decisions, but knowing why he chose the path he did and what he watched happen as he went down it rips my entire heart clean out of my chest.
This man risked everything to help the mages of Kirkwall retain some sense of normalcy in their lives, and I always wonder how much he carries the responsibility/blame for what happened to Maddox.
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
Hawke. Any Hawke, but especially a jaded, chantry-hating red Hawke. Bonus points if that Hawke is also a mage. One of the big themes that sticks to me in Dragon Age 2 is this idea that Hawke is this magnetic force of chaos that draws people in. Hawke is a beacon for people who are just sort of untethered and floating in life. I think a mage or mage sympathetic Hawke would have a lot in common ideologically with Samson, especially pre-Corypheus. I think had Samson been allowed to canonically interact positively with Hawke, he may have directed his energy elsewhere during the events of Inquisition. A romance born of that sort of dynamic to me is just. Hnnnnnng spicy.
I think there's also something to be said for Samson/Inquisitor pairings, especially the really well done redemption arc ones. Samson is a man with a good heart and solid intentions who got fucked by the system at every turn, and there's so much potential there for a compelling ship with someone with a strong personality/sense of self who gives him some room to grow. I'm also a huge sucker for a solid redemption arc. There is SO MUCH POTENTIAL HERE. *flail*
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Personally, I think my lines between this category and the previous one blur tremendously. Most of what applies above can also apply here sans romantic feelings. I can very easily picture a variety of AUs where Samson and Hawke or Samson and the Inquisitor bond over, among a lot of things, their shared frustrations towards the corrupt and injust institutions that tenuously hold society together.
My unpopular opinion about this character:
I did these questions out of order and I just realized my answer for this is actually the thing I wish could have been a canon option so uhhh...see below. 😅
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon:
I'm gonna preface this by saying I adore Cullen and this is in no way an anti-Cullen take. Anyone who's talked to me in this fandom for more than five min probably knows Amellen is one of my biggest OTPs. I still think an alternative possibility that would have been really fucking cool is to have had him and Samson switch places. To me they just seem like two sides of the same coin, and it really feels like a part of what determined where that coin landed was just. Circumstance.
They both have a strong sense of duty. They both struggle with a lyrium addiction thrust on them by the Chantry that controls their decisions. One of the ways in which they diverge is how Cullen's motivations are fueled in part by trauma that colours the way he views the mages under his charge. It would have been really cool if, depending on decisions made by the player in DA2, the advisor and antagonist roles could have been flipped between the two of them.
This IS canon:
Tumblr media
What if proximity to Meredith had also infected Cullen with the red lyrium corruption? What if Cassandra had sought out Samson due to his aforementioned acts of valor? What if Corypheus had sought out Cullen instead because Cullen had already been exposed to red lyrium and would have been easy enough to manipulate? He's already been burned by the system once in Kinloch. If the events in Kirkwall had gone a slightly different way, I don't think it would be much of a stretch to say he would feel utterly betrayed by a system that he once believed in. Possibly enough to be willing to turn against it all in such a hugely profound way.
Samson would have made a great advisor in Inquisition, Cullen would have made a great villain, and that is a somewhat unpopular hill I will happily die on.
Also we would have had a whole ass game's worth of additional Gideon Emery dialogue. A second Gideon Emery romance. Come on. 😭😭😭

Unpopular Headcanons Masterpost
In case anybody wanted a one-stop shop for my highly dubious opinions, here’s all my headcanons so far. The sad thing is that this isn’t even everything. There are more odds and ends under the Unpopular Headcanons tag (including some of the more NSFT stuff). But looking at this list I can already see that I talk too goddamn much so here are the most coherent posts to date:
Papa III has ADHD (and some other notes about how he learns and some of his interests)
Papa III and hugging (and other physical expressions of emotional warmth)
Papa III and the Trickster archetype (gets into some of the varying facets of his personality)
Some of Papa III’s disagreements with certain members of the Upper Clergy
How the skull paint works for the members of the Bloodline
Papa III learned the basics of how to dance from his mother’s family
Some of the games played during parties at the Abbey
Some of the history of the Abbey
Papa III’s origins (gets into how the Bloodline is perpetuated)
How the magic system works in my AU
Some notes about Papa III’s apparent egotism
Relationships and Unholy Church (the last part of this is, for obvious reasons, now outdated)
Some more demonology and its effects on the Bloodline (gets into something approaching demon-in-heat situations)
Some headcanons for how Papa III takes care of an SO with autism, and some things that can be done for him in return concerning his ADHD
Another more general headcanon for how all the Papas support someone with autism
Papa III and knife fighting
I answered an ask about scents/perfumes for Papa III this one time
Some sketchy headcanons about the wooded grounds surrounding the Abbey
Some notes about the Abbey Library’s holdings and the study of magic
Some notes about the Court of the Morningstar (the Houses associated with the various deadly sins and the demon princes and princesses who are their heads)
A silly headcanon that I used to resolve a discrepancy in my own worldbuilding about why Papa III still has an accent when he’s been away from Italy since early childhood
Notes on Papa III’s frequent restlessness and/or hyperactivity
A headcanon in which I don’t think Papa III is quite as over-the-top all the time as many people seem to think he is
The relationship between the Unseelie Court and the Court of the Morningstar (aka those fae headcanons nobody wanted and also I forgot to mention that the fae and the Lilim call each other “Cousin” as a courtesy title)
Some basic headcanons for Papas I and II
One of the more thorough explanations for why I call the Papas Primo, Secondo and Terzo
Valentine’s Day headcanons for Papa III
Some sleepwear headcanons for Papa III that nobody asked for
The Papal court of Era III (gets into how Church politics work)
Some notes on the various religious communities associated with Unholy Church
The Papas with an angelic SO (mildly spicy)
Freemasonry within Unholy Church
On-stage behavior vs. offstage, mostly Papa III but in general talks about balancing what little we have from canon with other considerations
Some fun date ideas for Papa III if you want to spoil him or otherwise make him feel especially well cared-for
I found that post I made earlier about how the Papas’ choices of covers and the songs associated with their eras should feed into how we view their characters
The Papas as spiritual leaders

Why I Love Sakura Haruno
This is not responding to any hate, it's just me sharing my opinion.
Tumblr media
She Wasn't Born Into A Prestigious Clan
Sakura was born into a weak, unpopular clan and still became very powerful. She started off with no kekkei genkai or special abilities, and there wasn't really anything she could do. She was almost as hopeless as Rock Lee was as a child. This shows how hard she truly worked to get where she is now, even if she can't compare to her peers that were born with greater potential to become powerful. For example, Sasuke was destined to awaken a Sharingan and Naruto was both an Uzumaki and a Jinchuuriki. Sakura had nothing. Still, she became quite powerful. I think this is particularly stunning, and it's genuinely praiseworthy.
She worked for her power, and she worked hard. When Sakura was a child, she was completely weak. She had her smarts, but she lacked battle skill. We were shown her hard work with Tsunade later on. Although Sakura did start out with the upper hand having great chakra control, it doesn't mean that her journey to achieving a Yin Seal wasn't a long one. Even other Medical Ninja with exceptional chakra control weren't able to do this.
Sakura sometimes even passed out because of how hard she worked. It was shown once during her training with Tsunade, and another time after she healed an injured person. She truly pushed herself to the limit, and it's definitely a reason to at least respect her. I really enjoy characters who had to work harder for their power.
Tumblr media
Intelligence
Sakura's definitely intelligent, even if she isn't on par with Shikamaru or Kakashi. In classic Naruto, she explained various things to her teammates and was able to answer all 9 questions in the Chunin Exams without cheating. In addition, these questions were said to be too complicated for a mere genin. This didn't stop Sakura.
In original Naruto, Sakura lacked battle skill since she usually focused on being book smart. She knew practically everything in her grade and even things above her grade. Kakashi even calls Sakura Team 7's sharpest mind. In classic Naruto, Sakura even reminds me of Hermione from Harry Potter. Her intelligence definitely shined through more than anything in her early years.
Sakura was also very intelligent throughout the rest of the series, her analytical skills said to be better than Sasuke's Sharingan's by Sasuke himself. It's notable to mention that she usually depended on outsmarting her opponents in order to trick them. It's also notable to mention that this tactic often worked.
Tumblr media
Personality
I really love Sakura's personality. She's
intelligent, confident, and caring. She has a very quick temper, but she loves her friends and puts their needs above her own. I'd say that Sakura's weakness would be her feelings, and it's great to give a character a flaw that hinders them. For example, Hinata. Hinata's weakness is her gentle nature. In my opinion, It makes her more likeable. I like that Sakura has this weakness of letting her feelings get the best of her from time to time.
Sakura is very kind. We all know she is hotheaded and short-tempered, but her kindness does shine through. Although he might've been the enemy, Sakura didn't deny to help someone who was dying during the war. Even though her peers told her it could potentially be a bad idea, she took him in while being cautious at the same time. Sakura is shown being very kind to strangers in particular.
Sakura is also very caring. She cares about Naruto and his dreams to become Hokage, claiming she wouldn't let him die in the Great Ninja War and feeling dejected when he is hurt. In addition, She threatens Sai when he deems Naruto weak, as she has immense faith in the blonde. She cares about the man who became both a traitor and a criminal. What Sakura had for Sasuke was true love, even if it was one-sided. She didn't give up on him because she cared deeply about him and had hope he could still be saved even after he did so many unspeakable things. While it deterred more as Sasuke committed more horrible crimes, I still think Sakura always had a sliver of hope.
Sakura cares more about everyone than herself, and this is an upgrade from when she was young and selfish. She puts herself in harms way, even if it's just for the tiniest distraction. This was shown when she served as a distraction in the fight against Madara, running at him head-on so Sasuke and Naruto could attack. While this can be a liability since a Medical Ninja needs to survive, it shows just how much she cares. It's notable that this might not even kill her because of her quick regeneration. What can I say? Sakura's not perfect. But you know what? She has heart and that's something I admire tremendously.
Her confidence is certainly noteworthy. Sakura is very confident in herself. You can easily tell Sakura is confident just by watching her scenes in the Anime or reading them in the Manga. Sakura has trust in her abilities, and that's also something I tend to favor. I love how she is able to assert herself as well as be certain about her actions.
Her short temper is another one. This is a hit or miss, and is a big reason most people don't like her. Sakura is very hotheaded. She usually gets angry when Naruto voices something derogatory or is perverted and punches him. Most people consider this an act of violence or abuse, but I don't. I mean, you can't deny that he deserves it sometimes.. Her anger dies down pretty quickly, and she ends up brushing off Naruto's statements and smiles. I think this adds a little bit of spiciness, character, and imperfection. Short-tempered characters often bring forth comedy and are interesting and exciting to watch. This is another part of Sakura's personality which I love deeply. But, like I said before, this is pretty much a hit or miss and some people do not respect this.
Sakura is also determined. In The Forest Of Death, she takes on enemies much stronger than her so she can protect her teammates until they wake up. She needed a lot of help in this fight, but it's exemplary that she put herself in danger for Sasuke and Naruto. In addition, her determination is also apparent when she asks Tsunade to be her sensei. She works really hard until she finally becomes powerful. She even acquired a hate for losing after her training, making her intent on defeating her opponent.
Tumblr media
Abilities
Medical Ninjutsu is a favorite of mine. I've always wanted to be involved in medicine, so I appreciate all of the techniques and helpfulness shown in Naruto. I also enjoy watching Sakura and Tsunade's brute force be put into play. It's always exciting, not to mention Taijutsu is another favorite of mine.
Sakura is one of the best medical ninja out there. She mastered a rare technique at a very young age. This is the Mystical Palm Technique. Sakura was able to master it in roughly three months, while other medics weren't able to master it at all. Amazingly, she is also able to form a Yin Seal, which is even more rare than the Mystical Palm Technique. As I said before, even Shizune (A very skilled Medic) could not form the Yin Seal.
Furthermore, She has various powerful healing jutsu such as the 100 Healings Jutsu. The 100 Healings Jutsu allows Sakura to continue fighting while her body heals itself. This means she does not even have to stop to think about it or weave handsigns. In my opinion, this is a very useful and interesting jutsu. Sakura can withstand deathblows using this technique.
Speaking of the 100 Healings Jutsu, Sakura saved up chakra for three years. At one point in time, Tsunade forbade Sakura to perform surgeries or battle. This is because building up chakra in order to form the Yin seal drains the user's normal reserves of chakra. However, Sakura is actually able to divert some of this chakra back into her normal reserves and she is able to perform surgeries and fight again. It's unknown how she accomplished this, but it had to take some hard work and focus. It also had to take some intelligence to even think of it.
Sakura was very supportive during the Pain Invasion arc and the War arc. She summoned Katsuyu, who traveled around to aid fallen citizens and shinobi in both arcs. She successfully did her duty and mended the wounds of many people. Countless citizens would have died without Sakura's expertise and dedication. Every Medical Ninja had to weigh in greatly for these two arcs, showing just how serious they were.
As for Taijutsu, I think it's amazing how both Sakura and Tsunade fight. The women obtain their monstrous strength from transferring chakra into their fists and sometimes their legs. Another Taijutsu user, Choji, was able to defeat Jirobo by transferring his chakra into his fist and punching him. This proves just how effective this technique is. This also requires a vast amount of skill in Chakra Control, something that Sakura was shown having from the very beginning. In addition, Sakura is pretty good at evading attacks. I guess she was just destined to gain monstrous strength.
Tumblr media
Growth
This is commonly brought up. Sakura used to be weak, annoying, and selfish. All bad traits. As Sakura works and betters herself, she eventually becomes a powerful woman who thinks of others above herself.
In the early episodes of classic Naruto, Sakura badmouths Naruto. This is a line even Sasuke knew was going too far. After Sasuke calls her annoying, Sakura is able to sit down and sympathize with Naruto. She knows partly how he feels now, and vows to be nicer to him. In Shippuden when she is older, she always put her faith in Naruto. She would never badmouth Naruto again, and got angry when others such as Sai did. By this point, Sakura truly cares for Naruto and understands him more than she did before.
Another thing substandard about Sakura in classic Naruto would probably be her love towards Sasuke Uchiha. This was a typical 13-year-old crush and you can't deny it got annoying easily. She was obsessed with Sasuke as a young teen, but grew out of it once she got older. She has always loved Sasuke, but she was more calm and less boy crazy. There are scenes where Sasuke causes Sakura to blush, but that's nothing compared to how she acted as a young teen. Her feelings develop into true love, even if she only had a crush on him because of his calm attitude and good looks before. She truly cares about him and wants to save him in Shippuden, even if she doubts it sometimes.
Unlike when she was younger, Sakura often cares more about others than she does herself. This is shown a few times throughout the series. As I said before, she usually uses herself as a distraction so her teammates can attack. Moreover, she is not as selfish as she was regarding her feelings. She now takes other's personal feelings into account instead of her own. While she still does focus on her feelings sometimes, she's not entirely egocentric as she was before. Great Development.
Now on to her power. Most don't deny that Sakura was utterly weak during Classic Naruto, but in Shippuden we were able to see how strong she had gotten thanks to her hard work. She gained brute strength, evasion skills, and advanced Medical Ninjutsu. All of these are useful and supportive when in battle. Sakura doesn't need to be rescued as often as she did before, and it's amazing she finally became a bit more independent as well as more powerful.
Tumblr media
Bonds
Sakura is close friends with the two main characters, so of course her relationships come off as likeable. She is very supportive of our protagonist, Naruto, and puts a great deal of credence in him. Even if she couldn't, Sakura has always tried to understand and sympathize with Naruto. She believes in him and is there for him if he might need her. She does lash out at him sometimes, and he can be unknowingly rude to her, but not every relationship can be perfect. Naruto is determined to keep Sakura safe and is in love with her for quite a while. I think her relationship with Naruto is more notable than her relationship with Sasuke. Seeing Naruto and Sakura together is never a bad thing.
Next, her relationship with Sasuke. This is probably the most obvious one, as she is married to him. A big part of Sakura's motivation to get stronger involved bringing Sasuke back to the village. Sadly, she was not strong enough to match up to him and instead trusted Naruto would save him. Even when she tried to kill Sasuke, she couldn't do it because she loved him too much. Sakura had very deep feelings for him, even if that love was only one-sided. She has always wanted to be acknowledged by him since her youth, much like Naruto wanted to be acknowledged by this village. Finally, Sasuke did acknowledge her. He conveys that she is now someone people can depend on. Additionally, Sasuke accepts that no matter what he did to her she was always going to love him.
I feel like this next one is unpopular, but I adore the relationship between Sakura and Sai. Sakura started off angry at Sai for calling her ugly, but later tried to be more open-minded. This failed after Sai insulted Sasuke, of course. Later, Sai wished to learn more about human bonds and Sakura showed compassion towards him and aided him in this quest. Sakura and Sai's relationship is pretty sincere in my opinion. She helps him to understand people and bonds more, and they even rescue one another and share intimate moments. Not to mention Sakura showed interest in Sai.
Next is her rival and best friend, Ino. From the very beginning, Ino and Sakura were shown to be very competitive towards each other. It wasn't really surprising that we later found out they were childhood friends. Sakura was ridiculed for her large forehead, but Ino encouraged her to embrace her forehead rather than cover it with her bangs. Sakura continues to be shy about her forehead, and Ino constantly had to tell her she was just making it a big deal. Sakura and Ino become close friends, Ino helping her to become more confident around others. Eventually, Sakura decides to tell Ino that she has a crush on Sasuke. They become rivals at this point, competing in everything. Despite this, there are times where they really show their care for eachother. One of these moments include Ino fixing Sakura's hair after she cut it in the Forest Of Death. Also, let's mention that Sakura wanted to be like Ino when she was younger. If that isn't cute, I don't know what is.
Finally, her relationship with her senseis. Kakashi and Sakura are very understanding of each other. Kakashi is very protective of his student, reassures her, holds her in high regard, and never judges her for her mistakes. Sakura in return worries for him, shows him respect, defends him, and isn't afraid to tell him about her feelings. This is exactly what a sensei and student relationship should look like. A teacher who never belittles the student and a student who respects the teacher. Furthermore, there are many characters who understand Sakura, but Kakashi really takes the cake with this one. He is the one who understood her feelings and the reasons behind her mistakes.
Now the next teacher: Tsunade. Tsunade is really the one to thank for Sakura's strength and skillful Medical Ninjutsu. Sakura and Tsunade respect one another, and Tsunade compliments her for her achievements. Sakura always listened to Tsunade, and took her battle advice. Moreover, she also inherited some of Tsunade's views and ideals. Although Sakura was weak when she first started training, Tsunade acknowledged her potential and took her under her wing.
Tumblr media
Teamwork
Sakura is proficient in teamwork. Whether it be with her squad or one other person. Chiyo and Sakura made a great team, as Sakura made up for Chiyo's weaknesses and Chiyo made up for Sakura's. Chiyo did not have enough strength to destroy Hiruko, but Sakura did. Sakura had trouble evading Sasori's fast attacks, so Chiyo took control of her body. I really admired the way these two worked so well together. Another notable team involving Sakura would be her and Obito. Obito and Sakura worked hard to retrieve Sasuke from an alternate dimension. Obito was the one who could open gateways to the other dimension, but he did not have enough chakra to do so. Sakura helps out by activating her Yin Seal and pouring her chakra into Obito. With this, Sasuke is able to save himself.
Tumblr media
She does stand in the shadow of others, but Sakura is a phenomenal character. I personally feel her flaws and mistakes make her relatable, which makes her a character that you can be comfortable watching. I feel bad when I see Sakura being hated on for her tiny flaws but never given the benefit of the doubt. I believe this is because she is the main heroine and is judged and looked at more than the other women. In all honesty, Sakura's strengths shine through more than her flaws. I feel so inspired when I watch Sakura or think about her character. She proves you can change yourself for the better. She proves everyone makes mistakes. She proves you can truly be confident in yourself. And last but not least, She proves it's okay to show emotion. She's amazing. Truly.
Thank you for your time. If you dislike or even hate Sakura, I don't mind if you share why in the comments or in a DM! I respect everyone's opinion, and all I'm asking is for you to respect mine.
