a juvenile striped skunk slowing progress momentarily..it is said that my grandfather could charm a skunk and pick it up without being sprayed..didn’t put my inherited talents to the test tho..discretion being the better part of valor..
Call for Submissions: Striped Skunk (Mephitis mephitis) skulls
@birbbones and I are seeking photo submissions of striped skunk skulls for the Skull Index! This will serve as an example of a page with multiple individuals of the same species.
We are seeking examples of male and female striped skunk skulls across the lifespan, including pathological specimens. The page for striped skunks will be linked below, and the best way to get in touch with us quickly is via the Skull Index Discord server. We will also respond to DMs through Tumblr!
Fun fact, the striped skunk has been a species for 70,000 years at the least, meaning it probably is older by thousands or even more years.
That timeframe meant that it probably scared the bejeezus of some of North America’s fiercest with its stink for a LONG time, including ground sloths, mammoths and mastodons (modern proboscideans and sloths have great senses of smell).
I've been so wiped out lately and I need to finish queueing all the art fight pieces w postybirb but here's something relaxed/fun i did in the style of that one piece of Galv from earlier in the year of Ricochet. Considering going a few more of these bc they're fun.
New boot/glove design but keeping that nb flag scheme intact. It's important.
