tagged by @quickhacked, @katsigian and @lucien-lachance!! thank you all <3 i actually have something share this week 😁 a friend requested sunako and dick's first date so here's what i have of the draft so far:

Maybe she shouldn’t have come. It certainly would’ve been easier, or so she thinks. It would’ve spared her this stomach-burning anxiety as she waits outside this diner and the potential humiliation of saying the wrong thing. She always says the wrong thing. But then would’ve come the awkwardness of seeing him again had she blown him off, and the overwhelming guilt of doing so. Plus, Keigo would be disappointed after convincing her to come tonight. Seems she can’t win either way especially now that he’s late. Well… late by two minutes, but still late. She’s been standing outside the diner for twenty minutes, watching people come and go or walk down the sidewalk beside her. She should move, she’s in people’s way but she feels frozen as she waits for him. It’s starting to rain, just a light sprinkle from the sky but enough for the temperature to start to drop and the smell in the air to shift. It’s a welcome change compared to the usual stench of Gotham. She considers texting him but instead brings a hand up to her mouth to bite her nails, though they’re already almost bitten down to the plate. It’s hard to tell with how pitch black the skin is anyway. It's unsightly; she should put her gloves back on.

Cruelty Thrives In Kindness | Sunako | Verdict 3.2

Maybe it’s the biggest crime, the greatest tyranny of all to not choose. Always frail and unimportant and now look where they all could have ended up if it weren’t for the more courageous— Yukari and Jun’ya who know how to stand large when the curtain calls opposite to an awe-eyed audience claiming to be human. Sure, it’s no human to saw a man into a spectacle she refused to witness when the cursed feed plays but she’s now come to know the difference. Or the lack thereof. Of her and them—the viewers whose gaze she despised on the other side of the screen while being no better than those who had voted wrong nor bearing justification to mourn with those who were against them— not her time to speak when the brunt force is on everyone but her side.

So again Sunako stays silent where it's her rightful place to be.

Yet the further Haruki and Fergus speak of could’ves and should’ves does shame corrod her cheeks and wets the eyes when behind bleary vision all she prays is for mercy. For Bonbon she had come to see despite it all being crafted in the name of love. The very loved ones and the ones who don’t love him— turning love itself into something hideous with so many cruelties done to Alfie and Giselle under its weight.

”… I-I’m sorry I— I never understood your j-jokes b-but I. I was h-happy when I and Hou made you laugh… ”

And still she has the nerve to twist kindness where others have forsaken it.

”… even if there was a chance i-it was always for o-our sake or others I— at that time it— i-it meant s-something to me...”

Guilty indebted tears fall for Emil whose killer didn’t deserve a sliver of praise and for Bonbon who’ll soon meet the same fate. She’s just not fair, this woman who after all Inigo’s said and done won’t stand her ground.

“Y-your pastries and— a-anhd— fishing together, too— I— I don’t w-want it to. To be painful for you…”

But at least now she's made herself known.
