So there was a VERY interesting little change to this wish in the remake...

His parents' wish changes after saving them, but it originally said "May Mallow fix the Road!"

Which means there was a total genius on the remake team that decided to change it to "Starway," completing the joke of Mallow AND his parents consistently getting the name wrong.

It's the tiniest detail in the world but it matters SO MUCH, I SEE YOU, DEVELOPERS, I SEE YOU AND APPRECIATE YOU!!!!

This won't be a long story set at all. It's the result of all the Mario AI's that raged out on me when I informed them of their brothers' budding new relationship with a certain dragon monster.

'Luigi would never betray me like that!'

Yeah well what if he DID. What if he just snapped and jumped on the back of the big guy's go-cart after hearing for the millionth time he's not as valued as his height-challenged brother?

Bonus fact: The red gem is pulled from this scene. I just thought it'd be funny if Bowser reused some of the gifts meant for Peach for Luigi.

I imagine as the seven Star Spirits of the Star Sanctuary are the highest ranking in Star Haven, Geno has a great deal of respect for them. The Star Spirits, of course, respect him fully in return for being the one to take the initiative of going down to collect the pieces of the Star Road and repair it, even when its destruction meant the all Star Spirits, including him, would be too weak to manifest on the surface without some sort of vessel.

When Geno returns to Star Haven, he's unsure what others will make of his newfound identity drawn from the hand-carved doll he possessed during his adventure below. But the other Star Spirits were more than happy to adjust accordingly and quickly switched to calling him by his new name when asked.
