"Detective superintendent, huh? Well, Detective Gibson, you're quite a ways from home."
"What brings you to the basement of the J. Edgar Hoover building all the way across the pond? If it's about those public indecency charges, I've taken care of them."

My fellow South Carolinians or if you're just bored, contact this school and ask them how can you get a degree that normally takes two years in just six months like the unqualified candidate of SC state superintendent of education, Ellen Weaver? I've already contacted them. Because I'm genuinely curious. I mean can I just get a PhD in six months? Can I just skip huge components normally required? They are allowing Weaver to skip doing her capstone project. This is not right.
I believe Ellen Weaver is a puppet and those who want to dismantle public education and prioritize private schools are working really hard to get her elected. SC's government may truly be corrupt. This is going to hurt many children in this state and mainly those of color and of poverty. And we're about to have a lot more poverty in this state due to the recent Roe V Wade decision. One of my classes had us going over data and just in St. Andrews, we have about 20% living below poverty.
If you're a parent or auntie/uncle the upcoming election in November should be very important to you. There is a lot at stake.
Working in education is like an African safari, an ongoing experience blending excitement and stress.
When we apply the same intentionality that goes into a safari to our work, we find ourselves more engaged in our mission, less burnt out, and happier in both work and our personal lives.
Steve Fredlund is known as "The Safari Dude" and he uses compelling stories from the savannah to invite us to renew our passion for work and leadership by choosing our experience, getting the right peeps in our Jeeps, doing the unright thing, taking in the view and embracing the adventure.
One of the most relentless critics of the force, William Henry Walsh – superintendent of the mighty Degilbo run on the lower Burnett – watched the chaos Walker brought to Maryborough:
The town was full of blacks; a vessel lay at the boiling place, and which had been piloted up from the bay as usual by the natives. Three was the number, and these three Mr. Walker resolved to catch. The vessel was accordingly surrounded by the police, and two out of the three poor creatures caught; and, Sir, if even under the disguise of law, an atrocious act was done, this is it. Without rhyme or reason, these men were dragged to the lock-up, and there, upon an order of Mr. Walker's, confined "to the 27th of the month" – rather more than a week.
