Got called "Mentally Ill", my life reduced to an "ideology" like my situation is a matter of belief not fact, and diagnosed with a condition I don't have by someone who's not a medical professional and I've never had a therapy session with, all in the same ask. Really paints a clear picture what being transphobic is about at it's core.
I don't go around telling people to go kill themselves for being cisgender. I don't call them "mentally ill" for not being transgender. I don't ignore medical science and unbiased study to diagnose them with conditions they don't have. I don't target what I perceive as their insecurities to try and make them feel bad or upset and make the mental conditions they do suffer from get worse. I don't tell them the world is better off without them. I don't wish them to be murdered to their face.
Me being transgender is no more an ideology than anyone in the world being cisgender. It's just a fact about my life that I live with and deal with on my path to become a happier, kinder, compassionate, empathetic, and more helpful person. What -is- an ideology, is going around telling people like me, with a past history of suicide, to go die because you believe we're not natural, that we're somehow a threat to the world for being born the way we are, denying any aspect of our experiences and lives that give us credibility in the face of your hatred, harm, and cruelty; and thinking we don't deserve equal rights, respect, and access to healthcare.
I'm transgender. I'm human. I'm not the asshole trying to make people suffer. I fight for equality, a kinder world, a more accepting world of people who are harmless and weird. None of us are free until all of us are. All of us deserve to be equal.
You've been reported, but I know you'll just make a new account to harass me. But that's okay, because every time one of you comes to attack me, the world sees who the true villain is. I can weather the pain you try to cause me, because after 26 almost 27 years now of it, I've learned to get back up and fight harder. It's all I know how to do. Because at the end of the day, if I can't fight for myself, I can fight for those next to me, I can fight for their equality.

I got very loudly deadnamed and misgendered multiple times at the doctors office today. This new receptionist ignored the preferred name on my profile to deadname and misgender me loudly, louder than she talked about anyone else in the waiting room. My birth certificate says "F" nex to sex, my medical documentation reflects this, and I was still deadnamed and misgendered.
And the saving grace was a woman and her child. I wear cat-ears and the child too young to speak loved them, and kept pointing and looking at me. I'm assuming her mother kept saying "yeah, she's wearing cat-ears", "yeah, that woman has cute cat-ears", and the like. Her child was enamoured with them, and that woman didn't misgender me once. And each time my very obviously masculine deadname name came up, she looked upset at the receptionist, but not once did she give me a bad look.
It doesn't have to be much. You don't need to be a knight in shining armour, or in someones face. Simply a quiet refusal to play along with someone elses bullshit is enough. It was enough to turn a trying and tiring moment into something that put a smile on my face and joy back into my life. It wasn't a lot but it mattered to me.

You know, I thought about this for a bit and I realized there's no funnier way to respond to this except with a tumblr poll. So ...
Not giving a "see results" option because I need your decision! Do I cave to the demands of a stranger who will never like me anyways or do what I love doing and be myself? You have 24 hours! Reblog to breach containment!

Pic for reference! And yes. I'm buying another trans themed patch come saturday too.

Do it shitty. Do it bad. Kill the perfectionist.
You're not going to be perfect on the first try. Your attempt, after one, ten, a hundred, or a thousand tutorials on tiktok, youtube, or from a website is still going to be shitty.
You'll look back, think on how it could be different, and adjust. It's not just art. It's videos. It's games you play. It's food you make. It's clothes you wear. It's makeup. It's how you trim your hair. It's shaving. It's cleaning. It's voice training. It's -life-. It's the act of making. You're learning to be better next time.
It really is the difference between a master of a craft and a novice. The novice of a craft has never failed, because they've never tried, and will never succeed if they don't try. The master of a craft has failed countless times, and has learned to exceed.
Do it shitty. Do it bad. Laugh off the guilt and shame. Learn and do better. Don't get stuck thinking you'll "never be good so what's the point?". Adopt "succeed or fail; watch me try.". Something isn't nothing. Doing nothing is nothing. Trying and giving up, was still trying. Trying and failing, was still trying. Come back. Try again. Compare the difference. Keep trying.
I'm going to go fail so I can learn to fail a little less the next time. My failures are just the sand and gravel I'll build my foundation of success on.

For those coming into the 2SLGBTQIA+ community for the first time, those of you just peaking out of the closet, those of you lurking in the shadows, and allies: I have three words for you to learn in your fight against bigotry, against discrimination:
Obdurate - stubbornly refusing to change ones opinion, beliefs, understanding, or course of action.
Obstinate - stubbornly refusing to change ones opinion, beliefs, understanding, or course of action despite attempts to persuade one to do so.
Ignorant - lacking knowledge or awareness, uneducated or unsophisticated.
Many bigots often aren't ignorant. They don't need to be educated, because they won't listen to it. They're obdurate, and this can be easily determined within a few minutes of trying to reason or debate when their obstinance shows.
This isn't saying 'don't ever try to educate', this is saying 'learn how to read your audience and learn when and how to quit'. If someone is being willfully ignorant and unsophisticated (ie. obdurate) on an enlightening and sophisticated topic and won't consider any opposition (ie. being obstinant), there's no point in continuing because all they're doing is having fun being deliberately uneducatable. Instead, call them out on it. Point at what they're doing and why you're declining to play. You have two really good words here to add to your vocabulary.
And as a reminder: being bigoted is a fun game for them, one designed to make you look ridiculous. Don't play. They're there to win and they've already given themselves first place and you last. Just leave, or if you have the mind for it, change the rules and play a different one, but honestly, most times it's best to just leave. You can't force someone to change against their will, only leave them behind.

This blog is not participating in the Tumblr "Blackout"
Why? It's the start of Disability Pride month. Much of the systems in society are deliberately hostile to disabled folk, even the ones that are supposed to "help" them. Pride last month around the world held events that weren't accessible for disabled queers. These people are routinely cut out from society, assaulted, harrassed, and treated less than second class. People will physically move people in wheelchairs out of their way, cut them off, and stand in front of them as they try to move. They're shamed, insulted, laughed at, and mocked.
I know many are upset about Tumblrs recent changes, but if you truly want to help increase the accessibility of this site, especially for the sight or hearing impared or those who need to use third party applications to help them navigate the site, then a blackout isn't the way to do it. What you can do is add disability tags to your liked tags, or search up disability tags and see what disabled folk are saying they need from the site and either pay to blaze or come together as a community to amplify their voices and drown out ableists that constantly put them down. Disabled people face unique bigotry and deserve to have their needs blasted to the crowd and actions taken by abled folk to help them in the way they ask to be helped. One of the biggest issues I commonly see is abled folk assuming they know whats best for someone with a disability. If you're not disabled in the way someone else is, never assume you know what their needs are; always ask and listen closely.
This is a link to the proposed blackout and further reasons at the bottom why you shouldn't join this attempt, largely because Tumblr is set up in such a way that a blackout would do nothing but silence disabled voices:
Do not join the blackout. Go support disabled folk instead. Sit down and listen to them. They've a lot to be angry about, and it's damn time people listened.

The patriarchy isn't gendered in it's evil. It's a collaborative approach. It can't uphold itself if there aren't women and men supporting it's views.
We talk about toxic masculinity and the threats men pose with the power and privilege given to them under patriarchal systems, but what about the toxic femininity wielded by misogynistic women? What about the unique level of power the patriarchy gives to women who conform, and strips from women, men, non-binary, etc. who do not?
There's women who uphold the patriarchy, and they are the backbone to the whole structure. The validation and vindication to do the harm it does to others.
If you need a taste, take a look at how 'gender critical' and transphobic women justify why trans women aren't women. They use 'biological essentialism', the same ideology that gives patriarchal men the absolute ability to prey on women citing a biological need that absolves them of guilt and wrong doing, to paint transgender women as nothing but predatory men by matter of biology. That by being born sexually male, an AMAB person can never be a woman because they are bound exclusively by biological whims they cannot control that AFAB people do not have. They don't chastise cisgender men for this supposed biological difference, as if it's okay to have these supposed 'uncontrollable urges' being a cisgender man. They further back up this false claim by pointing to any behavior if transgender women that is loud, flashy, gaudy, dominant, etc. claiming that even identifying as women, we're unable to act like women, as if to say that being a woman is to act modest, quiet, submissive, etc. I remember not men, but women and mothers telling their children not to speak unless spoken to, not to complain, not to dress flashy, etc, to their daughters growing up. Never their sons.
Toxic femininity is real, it exists, and it supports the same system toxic masculinity does and I want to see crumble. I want a world filled with just as many loud, gaudy, flashy, and rebellious girls, women, enbies, etc. as I see men.
I need three things from the world:
I need cisgender women and men who are staunchly against the patriarchy to stop treating the transgender assault by 'gender criticals' as a "trans only issue".
I need people to recognize that men, cisgender and transgender, aren't an inherent enemy, which means learning to identify toxic masculinity from masculinity. Which is essentially learning that anytime masculinity or an aspect of it is framed as "above women" or "above other men", and "below women" or "below other men"; that it's the toxic kind of masculinity.
I need people to recognize women, cisgender and transgender, aren't the inherent victims, which means learning to identify toxic femininity from femininity. Which is essentially learning any time femininity or an aspect of it is framed as "below men" or "above other women", and "above men" or "below other women"; that it's the toxic kind of femininity.
Ending the binary gender hierarchy is how this system fails. Masculinity and femininity under a patriarchal system is oppressively wielded against women, men, those outside the gender binary, and those that exist within but don't conform, but masculinity and femininity are not it's tools. It appropriates them, and redefines them to hurt those it wants to force into a mold. It makes existing outside it's definitions painful where the easy salvation is conformity.
I propose a different tactic: rebellion.

In a moment of sheer stupidity, I unblocked aaaaaall of the terf and transphobe blogs that had harrassed me and had broken Tumblr rules. I'd reported all of them.
Every.
Single.
One.
Deactivated.
There's just something pleasing about that. Like this fear that although I was safe from them, others weren't, just ... blew away. These weren't just one-off accounts, some of these were long standing hate blogs. Now gone. Its safer. We can all belong here. I want that for the world.

Hey, if you think being transphobic is okay because it's not as bad as being homophobic, or generally follow the logic that discriminating on one group or minority is okay because it's not like you're discriminating on another commonly attacked group or minority: you're actually just still as much of an asshole/dick/cunt/jerk and piece of shit bigot like those other people.
And guess what? If you're of the mind that being discriminatory against a minority or group of people helps another minority or group of people, for example: being transphobic because you think that your desire to exclude transgender people from recognition would help the larger queer rights movement or womens rights movement, you're also just as much of a piece of shit bigot as the opposition to the cause you claim to help.
And this goes for race, creed, gender, gender identity, sex, sexuality, religion, and spirituality. You can't fight for equal rights and fair treatment by preventing others from achieving equal rights and fair treatment, if you try to, all you're fighting for is privelege over others; all you're doing is fighting for inequality.
And if this is you: fuck you, grow up, and please change.

I saw a post of someone, as far as I could tell they were transgender, getting mad how people are letting the current tumblr fiasco (see any post tagging predesterone, avewy, or predestrogen. TL;DR trans girl got banned off the site for making a 'threat' to Tumblrs CEO while suffering a months long harassment, bigotry, and stalking campaigne without Tumblr lifting a finger to help. Tumblr responded with a ban citing reasons already disproven by their own process.) distract everyone from the current situation in Gaza, which is a coming mass assault. And I do get the frustration. But lets put both in perspective beginning with the 10 stages of genocide from
and
Tumblr media
The Stages are as follows taken directly from the sources above:
"Classification – The differences between people are not respected. There’s a division of ‘us’ and ‘them’ which can be carried out using stereotypes, or excluding people who are perceived to be different.
Symbolisation – This is a visual manifestation of hatred. Jews in Nazi Europe were forced to wear yellow stars to show that they were ‘different’.
Discrimination – The dominant group denies civil rights or even citizenship to identified groups. The 1935 Nuremberg Laws stripped Jews of their German citizenship, made it illegal for them to do many jobs or to marry German non-Jews.
Dehumanisation – Those perceived as ‘different’ are treated with no form of human rights or personal dignity. During the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, Tutsis were referred to as ‘cockroaches’; the Nazis referred to Jews as ‘vermin’.
Organisation – Genocides are always planned. Regimes of hatred often train those who go on to carry out the destruction of a people.
Polarisation – Propaganda begins to be spread by hate groups. The Nazis used the newspaper Der Stürmer to spread and incite messages of hate about Jewish people.
Preparation – Perpetrators plan the genocide. They often use euphemisms such as the Nazis’ phrase ‘The Final Solution’ to cloak their intentions. They create fear of the victim group, building up armies and weapons.
Persecution – Victims are identified because of their ethnicity or religion and death lists are drawn up. People are sometimes segregated into ghettos, deported or starved and property is often expropriated. Genocidal massacres begin.
Extermination – The hate group murders their identified victims in a deliberate and systematic campaign of violence. Millions of lives have been destroyed or changed beyond recognition through genocide.
Denial – The perpetrators or later generations deny the existence of any crime."
Now, these ten stages don't need to be done in order, and all ten aren't required to classify a genocide. If you have all 10 present, you failed to stop it and it's either happening or over. Just ONE stage present is enough to claim it's genocide. Not all genocides are bloody, they can be quiet, slow, and unnoticeable to those not the targets of it.
In Palestine, you have all 10. It's happening. No one listened, no one cared, and now innocent blood is spilled that was 100% preventable. And we, the world, get to watch that failing in action. We're seeing a bloody genocide. A violent one.
With transgender people in many places in the world, the stages present are: Classification, Symbolization, Discrimination, Dehumanization, Organization, Polarization, and Preparation. Seven, out of ten. 7/10. 70% of the way there to "too late".
So why is the predesterone/predstogen/Avewy/Rita situation important? The US, where Tumblr makes it's office. Avewy is transgender. The US is solidifying the Discrimination stage, and depending on who's elected next, even sanctuary states could feel the full pressure of the federal government. Please note, it's bad enough in the states that certain ones are offering sanctuary from others. Avewy isn't a US citizen, yet despite reporting discrimination, has so far had her reports denied and been removed from the site. So have many other enbies, trans men, and trans women.
Now Tumblr isn't a government institution, however, genocide is as much a government act as it is a social one. And private institutions, companies, corporations, and people make it happen. So getting mad saying something to the effect of "Palestinians are dying and this Avewy issue is distracting from meaningful actions being taken to prevent this nex upcoming mass assault" is aiding in allowing the same thing to happen to another minority by paving the path up to the genocide stage of Denial. How do you think the Palestinian genocide came to be? People kept saying their issues weren't important enough, and denied that there was a problem. The ongoing genocide NEEDS TO BE STOPPED but not at the cost of allowing another genocide to continue to take place.
And if you haven't figured it out, this is why anti-discrimination laws exist. Any sign of inequality in a society, whether thats based on race, creed, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, sex, disability, etc. is the starting sign of a possible genocide. This is why equality is so important. This is why Pride exists, this is why the racial equality movement is important, this is why people get on stage in protest and show up to rallies. Failure to uphold equality leads to erasure, and often to blood spilled. If you don't like that 70% of transgender people of all ages are at risk of suicide when not supported, or the higher rate of systemic violence towards people of colour and other minorities, then learn to recognize discrimination and speak up. Because failure to do so puts lives on the line, and we're all in this world together.
Free Palestine, Trans Rights Are Human Rights, Black Lives Matter, Stop the Genocide. All these statements can, should, and need to coexist on the same world stage. When ones in crisis, show up, because it only cascades and gets worse.
None of us are free unless all of us are.

I wanna talk about how transmen are sexualized.
Transmen aren't Femboys.
Transmen aren't Sissys.
Transmen aren't for your sexual pleasure.
Transmen are biological women who have dysphoria.
You cannot change sex, you can change gender presentation and how your gender is perceived.
-Sincerely A transguy tired of being sexualized and misinformation
When people go out of their way to say "all trans men are" or act like all trans mascs are a specific thing only, like a femboy, or a sissy, it's transphobic because it's debasing people to a kink and not recognizing that these can be aspects of a person, but not their entire personality. When someone treats a kink like the default for a type of person, it's offensive. Gay men got reasonably upset when people kept expecting and depicting them to be effeminate because it was rightfully offensive as fuck. We shouldn't be debasing people to sexual roles and stereotypical presentations grounded in bigotry. In your examples, that's transandrophobia. Beyond this, I will disagree with everything except your sign off.
Transgender men are not 'biological women'. They're men. Medically, commonly assigned female at birth (afab). I say "commonly" because intersex transgender men exist and the term 'afab' isn't all inclusive of the biological reality we're dealing with. The term "women" is a social term, not a medical one, that relates a person to experiences of womanhood and defines them as a woman by proxy. This is incorrect. Transgender men are men, period. If you're talking biology, use biology terms. Social terms belong in social contexts. Conflating the two aids no one and instead walks right into the rhetoric fascists like the so called "radfems" and "gender criticals" use to associate sex with gender as falsely inseparable terms.
Also, no again to "you cannot change sex". That is a falsity in the reality of modern science. We can make functional penises for transgender men, this is widely documented, and modern science has procedures that would allow an individual to no longer be accurately medically classified as "female" and even "male". One such procedure is called SRS or Sex Reassignment Surgery, sometimes referred to under a broader category of Gender Confirming Surgery or GCS that covers the creation or removal of primary and secondary sex characteristics. Now before we get on the "what do I mean by functional" train, I'm deliberately not including sperm production or egg production in this statement because if that's your argument that it's not 'functional' unless it can be used to reproduce, you're an asshole that just said sterile men aren't men, and post-menopausal women aren't women, and fuck you. Men and women aren't defined by their ability to reproduce. That's bioessentialist bullshit that can fuck right off, this ain't the fucking 1960's.
I'm being highly specific here because I want to be very clear that the terms we use have impact, they're meant to be used in certain contexts and conflating terms with eachother doesn't help us make the points that we're trying to here.
The real meat of this though is that these sexualizations as femboys and sissy's being default used on trans masculine people in general is deliberately denying transgender men and mascs their masculinity. If a transgender man or masc chooses to express themself in such a way, that's their choice. But it's a choice an individual is making, not a collective. It doesn't matter what a transgender man or masc looks like, it matters how they want to be treated, and denying them that treatment to force them into a sexual role they don't agree with is a big fucking baaaaaaaaaaad move. We talk about sexual liberation in being 2SLGBTQIA+, and defining ourselves our way, but doing this to trans mascs is just reflavouring homophobia to attack a different group. Fucking stop it. Let trans mascs and transgender men be masculine. Stop default coding them as feminine.

It's practice.
The witty one-liners. The off-the-cuff jabs back. The funny reversals.
It's practice.
The so called "strength" and "conviction" and "determination" that people associate with transgender people. How we can stand back up and laugh it off and seem unaffected.
It's practice.
Do you know how many times I stuttered out a weak, unconvincing response? Do you know how many times I stayed silent because I couldn't think of anything clever or smart to say back? How long I thought about what was said of me, to me, or about me after the fact? Probably not. I stewed over all of it, got it piled on, and with each new remark or comment or insult, I got better at handling it. It used to hurt so much, but it's happened so much that I no longer have quiet tears in my closet. It's now "oh, we're doing this again, great".
It's practice.
I feel it's a disservice to all the trans, gay, bi, queer, and questioning folk out there who are still in the closet or just coming out or just starting to question their identity to not say it out loud. It paints that to be queer requires some internal strength that I know most just coming to their own self realizations feel they don't have. Because I felt I didn't have that quality. I was terrified because the moment all the experiences clicked together, the world suddenly felt against me. How does one person take on the whole world and live? How do these people look right into such hatred, such cruelty, and just meet it head on with seemingly no second thought? Seeing queer people just shoulder it all and carry on seemed impossible for me to do. I wasn't strong like that, I wasn't determined like that, I didn't have that seemingly impenetrable armour. When I came out, finally, I didn't do it with hope. It was with spite and the thought that the world would send someone to kill me and that was marginally better than doing it myself. I made peace with losing everything. I'd go down swinging. So how am I still here?
Because the two things no one told me: it's practice, and your opposition will bark more than they bite. You stutter out your first comeback, and it sucks. Your shout back against the hate is shakey and unconvincing. Your tenth or twentyth feels no different. Then you get that one tired day, where someones a dick and it just ... falls off the tongue. Maybe you heard it somewhere, maybe it's something unique, but it's snappy, to the point, and unexpected by even you. You'll chase it, fail, but not as bad as before. As you get better at refuting it, walking away, or laughing it off it starts to hurt less. It's still annoying or painful but ... it's another wednesday or whatever. And next thing you know, some colleague or coworker or discord server acquaintance is telling you you're strong, powerful, determined or whatever. But you don't really feel any of that, because you still feel like you.
So live. Keep breathing. It's important you keep existing in every small or little way you can. Because the strength you see around you from the queer people you meet: it's practice, and you'll get there too.

I got publicly outed again, and I have a statement to make.
It's not my fault if you have a problem with trans people. If you come onto me and find out I have a dick a second later, that's on you if girl dick isnt' your thing. Screaming about my transgender nature so everyone can hear isn't me involving other people into your sexual preferences, that's all you. It's not my responsibility or fault that you didn't know the equivalent of 'fire is hot'. Some girls have a 'may contain nuts' label, some boys have 'clam' in the ingredients list, and this isn't weird or strange to me because that's just life.
To simplify that: trans people aren't responsible for cisgender peoples emotional outbursts because they don't conform to a specific cisgender-only fantasy. I repeat: a trans persons reality isn't dictated by a cisgender persons fantasy.

I'm seeing a lot of responses similar to this on some of my posts:
Tumblr media
Which would be a concerning accusation. Except my notes are vastly filled with reblogs like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and just all of these too:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I get notified daily about trans people of all ages, from minors to adults, identifying after the fact that their family life was ruined by their parents being unaccepting of them. That they'd wished their parents could have supported them. Every day I'm reminded that anti-trans ideology, sentiment, and bigotry is ruining the families of transgender people by encouraging them to be ignorant of the existence of transgender people. Every day I'm reminded of the painful reality trans people continue to live through. Every day I'm informed how trans people continue to overcome deliberately designed obstacles to make our lives worse.
So, to the bigots on my blog; you can paint me as the villian, but I'm not the one destroying families and making peoples lives worse. All I'm doing is empowering individuals to make healthy choices for their well-being, pointing out the damage others cause while consumed by bigotry and hate, and advocating for a better, more equal, future. If that makes me evil then so be it. I'd rather be the demon against you, than an angel or saint that supports you.

hi I saw your post about wanting to "look like yourself" by "being feminine" and "having an ass," and I'm just wondering if you can explain why "being feminine" or looking any way in particular makes you a literal woman, without resorting to misogynistic stereotypes or conservative gender roles. thanks!
Okay, this ask is in response to this post ...
... which answers this ask but lets be more clear:
I'm a woman. Full stop. I don't need to validate myself to you or anyone else about who I am. My actions and my experience speak for themselves, and if you dislike the kind of woman I am or feel the need to call into question my identity and thus my validity that I have worked hard to achieve, then I have a simple set of words spoken throughout the entirety of the equal rights movement:
Go fuck yourself.
I will not let someone else dictate my place in the free society I live in and work to protect. I will be seen as equal, and I will not be questioned by such words because the only thing they seek to achieve is oppression. Any argument used to say I'm not who I say I am, that I'm not mentally capable or well, and/or that I lack the physicality and experience to be a valid member has been used throughout history to deny equality and recognition to those deemed lesser by an oppressor. I will not be forced into a role, a position, a life that I do not agree nor identify with. I will not back down, I will not be quiet, I will not be weak in the face of adversity. I'm a woman. Yesterday I asked for recognition, today, I demand it.
TL;DR: What makes me a woman? Me. I do. Dislike that answer? Go fuck yourself, because I don't care.
