the teens as birds in shoes!
Lincoln Li-Wilson: A great blue heron as they're very tall, found in California, adaptable, and they're pretty shy despite their size. They're also pretty quiet AND like to dance. They're monogamous and very family-oriented like a certain paladin! I gave the bird soccer cleats (or at least tried to), cause my man loves soccer.
Scary Marlowe: A Stellers Jay as they look metal as hell, are smart and resourceful due to their corvid status, found in California, and despite how they look, they're very social and need lots of attention from their peers. They have a loud, brash sound and have been known to eat, among many things. small reptiles (emo gecko rip). I gave her the iconic doc martins that every angsty teen with MCR in their playlist has.
Taylor Swift: A Japanese Pygmy Woodpecker, which despite it's size, is exceptionally sturdy, as in order to peck at the bark, they need to be able to keep their brains from being sloshed around from the pressure. They're from Japan, which I think Taylor would appreciate. They tend to hang out with other species, which is fitting since it seems he's friends with just about everyone. I gave him limited edition Beauty and the Beast anime promotional sneakers.
Normal Swallows-Oak-Garcia: A Chipping Sparrow. Partly just because of the pun with his dads name, but also because they're loud and skittish, are found in California, and are ground feeders. That last one doesn't have anything to do with him, but listen, my arms getting tired from reaching. I gave him mascot shoes that I imagine he always wears as Teenie the Teen!

hatsune miku x taylor swift crossover
i swear, taylor would be a great vocaloid producer, her word plays and the fact she is mostly know for her love songs reminds me of deco*27. 1989 and midnights are also very vocaloid-coded. blondie is already such a successful artist, how much more if she collabs with one of japan's icons like- 🤩.
i am willing to defend this with my life, and make a research paper and action plan, so @taylorswift @ deco*27 @hatsunemiku-official 👀

Not me realizing that Lillian was basically a stand in for Taylor Swift.. Ok not a stand in but a marker for how famous Lillian is in the dcst universe
It makes so much sense... Nikki being a superfan even in japan, so iconic she's a household name, blond wavy hair and blue eyes just like the debut album cover-
Someone that many a teenage boy would roll their eyes about listening to not because they don't like her but because they have an image to uphold, and a dad who sees through his son and thinks he will be the coolest dad ever if he can get Lillian to sing just for him.
And idk now I'm imagining Kohaku as the "you belong with me" girl and she's SO CUTE that tomboy charm she gives to the situation is undeniable also I am so gay

Hayao Miyazaki’s ‘The Boy and the Heron’ opens to record-breaking $12.8 million
Tumblr media
“The Boy and the Heron,” a fantastical coming-of-age story from animation maestro Hayao Miyazaki, earned $12.8 million in its opening weekend, becoming the first original anime production to top the domestic box office. The GKids release is showing in Imax and other premium large format auditoriums, which bolstered its record-breaking revenues and helped secure its first place finish. It also benefitted from a lack of big-screen offerings, with holiday blockbusters such as “Wonka” and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” still waiting to make their debuts in the coming weeks.
“The Boy and the Heron” marks Miyazaki’s unexpected return to screens after being absent for more than a decade — the filmmaker behind classics like “Spirited Away” and “Princess Mononoke” announced he was retiring in 2013 when his previous film, “The Wind Rises,” was released. “The Boy and the Heron” has slowly been rolling out internationally, earning $84 million, with $56 million of that coming from Miyazaki’s native Japan.
Last weekend’s champ, “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” tumbled in its second weekend, earning $5 million for a fifth place finish. That’s a precipitous 77% drop, signaling that the music icon’s concert film may not have the staying power of “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” which has grossed nearly $180 million. “Renaissance” has earned roughly $28 million domestically. Like Swift, Queen Bey has bypassed a traditional studio in order to release her film, enlisting AMC Theatres to oversee its distribution. That allows her to keep a larger share of the ticket sales.
As “Renaissance” faltered, Lionsgate’s “Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” took second place, picking up $9.4 million to push its domestic haul to $135.6 million. That’s a solid number, particularly considering that the “Hunger Games” prequel carries a $100 million production budget, a modest figure for a film of that size and scope.
Toho International’s “Godzilla Minus One” continued its hot streak, stomping to $8.3 million in its second weekend. The monster movie’s domestic haul stands at $25.3 million, making it the highest-grossing live-action Japanese film to be released in North America.
Universal and DreamsWorks Animation’s “Trolls Band Together” will take fourth place, earning $6.2 million. That brings the family film’s total to $83.1 million. One of the weekend’s other new offerings, Bleecker Street’s “Waitress: The Musical,” earned $3.2 million.
In limited release, Searchlight’s “Poor Things” earned a sterling $644,000 from just nine theaters. Its per-theater average of $72,000 is also the best of the fall awards season — it falls slightly behind the per-theater bows of “Beau Is Afraid” ($80,000) and “Asteroid City” ($142,000), which came out in the spring and summer. The off-beat comedy from Yorgos Lanthimos, the director of “The Favourite,” stars Emma Stone and has been generating plenty of Oscar buzz since it debuted at the Venice Film Festival, where it won the prestigious Golden Lion.
“Origin,” another critical favorite, opened in limited release with $117,063 from two theaters. That’s a per-screen average of $58,532. The Neon release is written and directed by Ava DuVernay and adapts Isabel Wilkerson’s “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents,” a historical examination of hatred and racism.
Next weekend brings the release of “Wonka,” a look at the early days of the candy maker that stars Timothée Chalamet. That should sweeten the box office, but theater owners and analysts believe this holiday season will be more muted than the prior two years, when the mega-grossing “Avatar: The Way of Water” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” debuted

You like Björk so I trust your taste.
Can you recommend some Korean music?
hmm....groups or individuals? i actually don't listen to kpop as much anymore, so i don't know a ton of newer groups, but here's my pick (mostly focusing on women, a couple males)
iu is very basic, pleasant, palatable taylor swift pop, good for driving and doing other tasks (same with taeyeon, but a bit more powerballad-y). f(x) is disbanded, but their songs are a ton of fun, very kesha, dated electronica that makes you nostalgic. i am a bts fan of course, you can typically find a song from them in any genre you like, someone on reddit made this insane genre chart for them to find what you like
Tumblr media
not a 'real' group, but i love all of kda's songs, they are a fictional female group created by league of legends and have such good electropop songs (if you like the korean singing and rapping, the group members come from (G)i-dle. sunmi is iconic, she does electropop with very distinct music and voice. taemin does rnb, has a very smooth voice, pleasant listening. early red velvet stuff is super good, but very 'kpop'. and finally, ga-in is extremely underrated (probably because she hasn't released proper non soundtrack music since like 2015, she has mental health issues, pain issues, and harmful drug use issues), her productions and the way she sings really pulls you in. her album hawwah is a masterpiece.
unfortunately, there isn't a big rock or experimental scene in korean music that is easily accessible for westerners atm, it's very much manually looking. japan is a lot better for finding that stuff (not that jpop and/or jrock are super similar to korean stuff, but there is a similar core feel, as kpop is influenced by both modern western and japanese music)

TAYLOR AT TOKYO
Taylor Swift recently performed four back-to-back shows as part of her Eras Tour in Tokyo, Japan. The concerts took place at the Tokyo Dome, a 55,000-seat venue, and were completely sold out. Taylor expressed her gratitude towards her fans for their overwhelming support throughout the shows. Despite a minor incident where Taylor tripped on stage during one of the performances, she continued to deliver an amazing performance. The Tokyo leg of her Eras Tour was a huge success, and fans were thrilled to experience Taylor's energetic and captivating live performances.
OMG, BLINKs! I just had the most incredible experience attending Taylor Swift's "The Eras Tour" in Tokyo, Japan! It was an absolute dream come true for me as a Swiftie. I posted a video on TikTok of me singing my heart out to Taylor's iconic song "All Too Well (10 minutes version)" during the concert. I was completely in my element, belting out every lyric and feeling the emotions of the song. It was truly a magical moment for me, and I captioned the post as "Best 10 minutes in Tokyo" because that's exactly what it was. The Tokyo Dome was filled with over 55,000 fans, and I was lucky enough to be there to witness the start of Taylor's tour leg. It was an unforgettable experience being surrounded by so many passionate Swifties. I felt like I was part of a community, singing along and sharing the love for Taylor's music.
In a five-minute TikTok video that I shared after the show, I gave you all a glimpse of the concert and the joy I felt throughout the night. I was joined by my close friend Joan, who is also an influencer. We had the time of our lives, enjoying Taylor's incredible performance and soaking in the atmosphere of the Tokyo Dome. But it wasn't all just fun and excitement. There were also emotional moments for me during the concert. I couldn't help but shed tears while listening to songs like "All Too Well," "Karma," and "22." Taylor's music has a way of touching your soul, and I was deeply moved by the lyrics and the emotions behind them. This experience reminded me of the viral video from the 2022 VMAs, where Taylor Swift jammed out to our performance of "Pink Venom." It's incredible to see the mutual admiration and support between artists, and I'm grateful to be a part of such a loving and supportive community. Attending Taylor Swift's concert as a special guest and standing in the VIP area was a surreal moment for me. I felt so honored and privileged to be there, and I wanted to share that joy with all of you. Those 10 minutes of singing along to "All Too Well" will forever be etched in my heart.
