I Can Do It With A Broken Heart is really about her in 1989 eras. The first time around, she seemingly just won at life with global sold-out stadium tours. Meanwhile behind the scene, since her next album would be the last one in her original contract with Big Machine, she was negotiating a contract renewal. She had probably already started trying and failing to buy back her masters. From the man who should’ve had her back, yet stabbed her in the back instead, repeatedly. Then Kim-Ye fiasco stomped her when she was already down.

The second time around, once she re-released 1989, she’s at the last leg of her re-recording and re-release. Can you imagine how traumatizing it is for her to embody her own hopeful, starry-eyed self for her debut album? Especially when she knows damn well how jaded she had become by the time reputation came around.

The Eras Tour is the most successful tour she has had so far. The last time GP was so fucking hyped over her like this, was right before her whole world came crashing down and they cancelled her to hell and back.

But best believe that this time, Taylor is so fucking ready for it. And I could not be more proud of her.
