Tim and Lonnie Machin would be a fantastic partnership that taps into some very interesting commentary about justice, class systems, and social activism, while also employing the enemies to friends to lovers tropes, and I'd love to one day write out that ship with someone (with either Tim on this blog or Lonnie on my multi)

Tim catches feelings for people during very innocuous moments between them. TGP describes Chidi falling in love with Eleanor because she anticipated his needs before he even knew he needed something, and I think that's a perfect example of how Tim catches feelings as well

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile

For high-end laptops, there is a graphics card called the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 mobile. It is created at TSMC using a 16 nm FinFET process and is based on the Pascal architecture. The more compact GP106 chip is used by the GPU. The GTX 1060 laptop version has significantly lower clock rates but the same number of shaders as the desktop model. TDP is somewhat lower than the previous GTX 970M. (predecessor).

Nvidia offers a Max-Q version of the GTX 1060 with a lower TDP and much reduced performance for thin and light laptops. Unfortunately, this model is sold under the same GTX 1060 designation, making it difficult to evaluate performance.

A reference GTX 1060 desktop card performs somewhat better than the mobile GTX 1060. The mobile GTX 1060 was between -1 and -16 percent slower than a desktop version in our benchmark so far (no max-Q version). Here you can read a thorough review of the desktop GeForce GTX 1060 Founders Edition with 6 GB GDDR5. So, Full HD or WQHD gaming with high to maximum details is where the card shines (see benchmarks below).

A number of additional capabilities, including DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b, HDR, Simultaneous Multi-Projection (SMP), and enhanced H.265 video de- and encoding, are offered by the GP106 chip, which is manufactured in TSMC's 16nm FinFET process (PlayReady 3.0). With a TGP of 80 Watt, the power consumption is slightly lower than that of the previous GTX 970M. Since the summer of 2017, a low power model (Max-Q) with decreased performance and a lower TGP of 60 to 70 Watt is offered for thin and light laptops.

Mobile Summary

On August 18, 2016, NVIDIA began selling the GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile, with a suggested retail price of $237.11. This laptop card features the Pascal architecture, is built on the 16 nm manufacturing process, and is particularly designed for gamers. 8 GHz-clocked 6 GB of GDDR5 memory is provided, and when combined with a 192-bit memory interface, this results in 192 GB/s of bandwidth.

This card is connected via a PCIe 3.0 x16 interface, making it compatible. Power consumption is 80 Watt, and a 6-pin power connector is needed.

First Tests: AMD Radeon RX 7900M ‘Navi 31’ Shines Bright!

At least according to the results of the 3DMark Time Spy benchmark, the first performance tests on the AMD Radeon RX 7900M “Navi 31” GPU are already available, and they show that it outperforms the GeForce RTX 4080 laptop GPU. However, the AMD Radeon RX 7900M, which is the flagship of the RDNA 3 laptop GPUs, is just marginally quicker than the RTX 4080 in the first testing conducted by 3DMark.

The AMD Radeon RX 7900M was originally seen in a leak at the beginning of October, and then it was shown to the public for the first time as an official product with the Alienware m18. One of the AMD Advantage and All-AMD laptops, as well as the only design to have a Radeon GPU and Ryzen CPU hardware of a high grade, this laptop is also an All-AMD laptop. Previously, there were just Navi 33 GPUs available for the entry-level and mainstream markets in AMD’s RDNA 3 product portfolio.

In the past, both AMD and NVIDIA have traditionally released graphics processing units (GPUs) for laptops that were a model step down from their flagship desktop models and were regarded as the most effective model for laptops. Even these, however, were described in terms of the basic setup or performance.

Information on the AMD Radeon RX 7900M “Navi 31” GPU’s specifications

The graphics processing unit (GPU) for the AMD Radeon RX 7900M is designed using the RDNA 3 graphics architecture, and it has a total of 36 workgroup processors (WGP) or 72 compute units, both of which combine to generate a total of 4608 cores. The graphics processing unit (GPU) has 20% more cores than the 7800 XT but 10% less cores than the 7900 GRE.

Comparatively, the GPU has fewer cores than the 7900 GRE. The graphics processing unit (GPU) may reach peak clock speeds of 2090 MHz. You can see that the device being tested is an Alienware m18 laptop equipped with AMD’s Ryzen 9 7945HX and the Radeon RX 7900M GPU in the first performance benchmark that was supplied by the well-known tech and gaming YouTuber GizmoSlipTech. The benchmark was provided by GizmoSlipTech.

This outstanding system may be yours for the equivalent of 2,608.05 euros as the starting point price. In contrast, the retail price of the RTX 4080 with comparable system characteristics is the equivalent of 3120.35EUR, which represents a premium of 20%.

In the 3DMark Time Spy graphics test, a score of 19,743 was attained using the AMD Radeon RX 7900M RDNA 3 GPU, while a total of 18,404 points were obtained. This performance is extremely good for a laptop GPU, as it is higher than the average score of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 by around 4.3 percent. This resulted in an overall score of 18,923 points when compared to the standard.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090

With its AD103 GPU core, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 continues to reign supreme, while the AD104 demonstrates its merits and is virtually on level with the Navi 31 GPU. This conclusion is just based on a synthetic test, but it looks that the Radeon RX 7900M has a higher price-performance ratio when compared to the RTX 4080. However, this evaluation is solely based on the price.

However, it is essential to keep in mind that the simulated performance or gaming performance of laptop GPUs is not nearly as relevant as the thermal and power ratings of such GPUs. A GPU that is efficient may provide the same level of performance at lower temperatures while also extending the battery’s life.

According to AMD’s own official benchmarks, there is a 7% performance boost over the RTX 4080, which indicates that the flagship Navi 31 GPU looks to perform well in comparison to its rival, the AD104. Nevertheless, further testing, particularly in games, would be necessary in order to offer a more thorough judgment.

A-10C Systems

The front dash of the A-10C sports two MFCDs that can display data from various aircraft sub-systems (DTS, TAD, DSMS, TGP, MSG, STAT, and video from Maverick missiles). They allow a much more rapid and intuitive way to convey to the pilot the necessary information and input data. Each MFCD is 5x5 inches (12.7h 12.7w cm) and has 5 buttons on each of the 4 sides. The functions of these Option Select Buttons (OSB) depend on the context of the selected MFCD page.

Tactical Awareness Display (TAD)

The TAD displays a top view of the current tactical situation using symbols that represent your current position (Ownship), mission anchor point (Bullseye), Sensor Point of Interest (SPI), waypoints, flight route, and datalink symbols of friendly air and ground units. The TAD may be set as the Sensor Of Interest (SOI) that allows the TAD to be interacted with including using the slew control on the HOTAS throttle to slew the TAD cursor. Other functions are also controlled by the HOTAS. Using the TAD cursor, you can designate (hook) symbols on the TAD and set them as your SPI and get additional information about them.

All of this data can be overlaid on real air navigation charts of various types depending on the TAD display scale (ONC, TPC, JOG, etc.). Map will be available for both the Black Sea and Nevada theaters.

Digital Stores Management System (DSMS)

The DSMS replaces the A-10A Armament Control Panel (ACP) that was located on the front left panel. All weapon setting controls are now performed using the DSMS. Basic functions of the DSMS include the main Status page, selecting and editing weapon release profiles, inventory management, missile management (AGM-65 and AIM-9), and selective stores jettison.

Genuinely thought that "ward deciphering" post was Janet and Michael from TGP, until I read it's Dramione🙈🙈🙈

Huh you know I’ve been so entrenched in dramione fandom lately that I didn’t even question it but taking a second look I can def see where you might see that as Janet and Michael! The ward dechiphering does kind of look like something out of the good place (in a good way)!

I love when multi-fandom tumblr followings do that with fanart; makes me think of my “percabeth or bellarke fanart?” guessing game I like to play on my dash before I look at the tags to confirm.
