As we prepare for the coming of the Spirit at Pentecost and prepare for the renewal of our own mission to the world, we begin [to ready our hearts] with a firm demand for faith in Jesus, which is the same as belief in the Father. Faith is not just an intellectual assent but includes trust, a confidence that we can leave everything in the hands of Jesus.

relistening to tma and losing my mind more with each episode. anyways. today we're talking about how there are three characters in the show who are meant to be/groomed to be "the chosen one" for some specific purpose (agnes for the lightless flame, gerry to carry on some esoteric bloodline, jon for the watcher's crown/the web's escape plan) and all three of them have that running theme of being completely powerless in every aspect of their lives despite being made to be something powerful. we never get agnes' own perspective on her own life, gerry dies and is kept in limbo for *years*, and jon is marked to be the antichrist from age 8, like all of them were used as tools rather than people and if you couple that with all three at some point expressing that their fantasy is to live a normal life and be a normal person but they were trapped by divinity......fucked up if true

When I feed the hungry, they call me a saint. When I ask why people are hungry, they call me a Communist.

The context of the annual Festival of Dedication of the Temple gives a special meaning to Jesus’ claim [of His divinity in John 10:30]. On this festival of the return of the LORD to his Temple (after its desecration by the Syrian King Antiochus Epiphanes) Jesus is claiming that He Himself is the abode of God. [Indeed,] throughout the Gospel, Jesus has been making His own the institutions of Judaism. At Cana, He takes over the jars of water for Jewish rites of purification, making them the wine of His wedding-feast. Then He goes to Jerusalem and [functionally] replaces the perishable Temple with the Temple which is His Body. He makes the Sabbath His own by working on it as only God may do. He, rather than the manna provided by Moses, is the life-giving Bread from heaven. At Tabernacles, the festival of light and water, He declares that He is the Light of the world and the Source of Living Water. Finally, He will make the Passover His own at the Last Supper, and as the paschal lamb. It is this [record of so acting and speaking with Divinely transmutative religious authority] which gives the context and significance to the claim that ‘I and the Father are one.’ [Tragically, even though] the hostile question of the Jews [sparked] off Jesus’ sayings, [they are still unwilling to accept His unchanging response] and immediately after this passage they take up stones to throw at Him, [only misunderstanding] His claim to be one with the Father as blasphemy [rather than Truth].

OH LAWD
CW: (speculative) suicide/self murder, demonstration of incredibly unhealthy relationships, gore allegories, and also just straight up gore
Thinking about soap completely trusting ghost
And like- fuck it's so unhealthy but also it's putting an image in my head that's actually got me fucked up rn
Imagining ghost handing soap a gun, looking directly into soap's eyes and asking him to kill himself. And soap does it, no hesitation, just BAM.
Or rather C L I C K
And FUCK imagine the gun was unloaded because it will only ever be unloaded around Johnny. But that's not the point is it? No the point is that soap... soap didn't care. Soap thought ghost told him to kill himself and he did, he would have. Had the gun only been loaded. Had simon not taken precaution to make sure it had been unloaded. Had simon done it in the spur of the moment.
And isn't that great? Isn't that amazing? Isn't that absolutely bone-chillingly terrifying?
Fuck
Soap would let ghost tear a chunk out of his throat, and as long as ghost looked him in the eyes as said he loved him, said he deserved it. Soap would cup his cheek, and smile, and choke out "I love you. Of course I did, you love me." Through the blood that floods into his mouth and lungs and down his esophagus and into his stomach. Because soap bleeds for ghost.
Ghost needs only to ask and soap would tear open his own stomach and let his guts spill on bloodsoaked, battle-stained ground.
Ghost is a man blinded by blood, leading an even blind-er man through death
Part 2 anyone? Stay tuned, I'll link it :)

When you’re healthy.. you’re not always going to be thinking about having your own needs met. You don’t need others to complete you. You show up as your whole self, ready to share you and your life with others without codependency and enmeshment. You become more patient. The fact that you understand your wounds, reminds you to be gentle with others because we’ve all been wounded. You become the medicine.
Be so secure in yourself that you have the capacity to hold space for others while they remember their wholeness.
When you come into connection with another, you don’t become one, you create the holy Trinity.
