Hey!!! You commented on my post about limetown haha which is why I’m here. You offered to give podcast recs! What are your favorites?? I’m looking for some new ones
I completely forgot I had this ask, excuse the delay. Here's a selection of 30 podcasts I enjoyed from a broad range of genres: hopefully at least one appeals.
Let me know if you're after something more specific.
Arden: (Investigative, Comedy) On the 25th of December, 2007, heiress and young actress Julie Capsom crashed her car into a tree and fled into a nearby forest clearing, leaving a trail that seemingly vanished into thin air, and a dismembered torso in the trunk. A decade later, Bea, the first reporter on the scene, and Brenda, a detective on the case, are hosting a true crime podcast about it, and neither is remotely impressed with what the other has to say. Arden is also a retelling of various Shakespeare plays.
Desperado: (Supernatural, Adventure, Horror Elements) In a modern world of gods and magic, three young people, all under the patronage of death dieties, embark on the same adventure for different reasons: for safety, for revenge, and to kill The Old Man in the Sky. Fantastic banter and killer action sequences.
The Far Meridian: (Magical Realism) An agoraphobic young woman wakes one day to discover her lighthouse home has travelled to somewhere entirely unfamilar. As this continues to happen day after day, she uses the opportunity to search for her missing brother. A really unique and charming piece of fiction.
Gastronaut: (Sci-Fi) Interstellar travel audio blog of a former food critic as he travels to an active warzone to get firsthand experience with unfamilar cuisine. ft. Disgruntled martian nobility, sinister businessmen, explosive mushrooms, forbidden snacks, rogue revolutionary artists, and the consequences of your actions.
Girl in Space: (Sci-Fi) The Girl In Space lives alone on a space station, doing science, making cheese, rewatching Jurassic Park, and tending to the plants, animals, and artificial sun entrusted to her. It's a little lonely, but not a bad life. Would be a shame if someone came along to ruin it.
The Goblet Wire: (Microfiction, Weird Fiction) A surreal microfiction with horror elements, taking the form of phone calls to an audio-based game in which the voice of the mysterious Dictator leads each player through fantastic and horrific world and story.
Hello From The Hallowoods: (Horror, Supernatural) A dramatic entity beyond your comprehension visits your nightmares to tell stories of the people (in varying degrees of human and alive) that inhabit the strange, deadly, and beautiful Hallowoods, as they find meaning and sometimes eachother.
Hi Nay: (Supernatural Horror) A year after moving to Toronto, sound designer Mari finds herself drawn into helping people around the city with various horrific supernatural encounters due to her babaylan (shaman) family background. It quickly becomes apparent that there's something much more sinister and complicated happening in the background.
Inco: (Microfiction, Sci-Fi) A perpetually exausted interstellar information trader and her peppy AI find a mysterious (read: bratty) boy floating in space and are inadventently pulled into a world political intrigue.
Inn Between: (Fantasy) Ever curious about what the D&D characters get up to at the tavern between sessions? A generally lighter-hearted (with some exceptions) with richly-written and always-growing characters. A really interesting format, too: a lot of the adventure appears in the "next time" and "last time" segments which makes it all flow really nicely. Not a tabletop podcast.
Janus Descending: (Sci-Fi, Horror, Tragedy) A xenoarcheologist and a xenopaleontologist are sent to a study a dead city on a distant world. Nobody likes what they find there. A unique format, with one set of logs presented first to last, and the other last to first. I'd recommend listening to the supercut for this one.
The Kingmaker Histories: (Steampunk, Weird Fiction, Adventure, Fantasy Elements) In the Valorian Socialist Republic 1911, on her 25th birthday, tailor's apprentice Colette experienced the worst headache of her life. As a result, she fleed from town with a human artificer and a fae chef - both now smugglers - pursued by an utterly furious flesh-crafter. I'm not sure I'm selling how good this podcast is but it's very good.
Life With Althaar: (Sci-Fi, Comedy) A human repairman moves to a space station on the edge of human territory that is perpetually on the edge of self-destruction, and ends up with a less-than-ideal last-minute roomate. Althaar is polite, friendly, deeply interested in human culture, and eager to be friends. Unfortunately he belongs to a species that sends humans into a visceral panic at a glance.
Lost Terminal: (Sci-Fi, Hopepunk) Seth is a very lonely AI living on a satellite. His crew were left stranded aboard with no hope of return, and it's been longer than he can count since then. The Earth below him has changed dramatically, and with only a few other AI down there to talk to, he's very lonely. But! He has a plan to make some new friends.
Love and Luck: (Romance, Slice-of-Life and Urban Fantasy Elements) Voice messages cataloguing two young men falling in love and opening a queer dry bar together.
Midnight Radio: (Light Supernatural, Romance) Sybil McIntyre, host of the ever-popular 1950's nightly radio hour, begins exchanging letters with an old fan who has reluctantly returned to visit Sybil's beloved town.
Midst: (Weird Fiction, Western, Sci-Fi and Fantasy Elements) The old-western planetoid islet of Midst floats, rotating steadily, in a sea of reality-warping darkness. Down in the town of Stationary Hill, things are in movement, and vistors from the light above are about to bring unanticipated change. ft a monocycle-riding monster-hunter, radio-famous airship paladins, deadly mica, the universe's peppiest cultist, good dogs, and a really strange businessman.
The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity, and Mortality: (Weird Fiction, Supernatural, Urban Fantasy and Horror Elements) A friendly AI tour guide leads you on a tour of the Mistholme Museum, explaining the strange and often alternatural story behind each item.
Monstrous Agonies: (Supernatural, Relationship Advice) An interpersonal advice show for supernatural entities and other people living liminally in the modern world.
Night Shift: (Urban Fantasy, Investigative) Set in a modern world with the addition of magic, which manifests in small inherited skills/traits, can warp people in horrific ways, or can be manipulated with the right science (and intense work) to induce superpowers. Sebastian Fenn is a barista at Night Shift Coffee, but since things are slow he's decided to start a podcast to talk about various mysteries, crimes and conspiracies around the city, and of course finds himself deeper in them than he'd intended.
The Pasithea Powder: (Sci-Fi, Thriller Elements? I think?) The last major interplanetary war was full of atrocities, but none more infamous then the creation of Pasithea Powder, a memory altering drug which was used to horrible effect and landed it's entire team of creators in prison. So when decorated war hero Captain Sophie Green sees one of them wandering free, worlds away from his prison, she gets in touch with a very old, estranged friend: one Dr. Jane Gonzalez, who's behind bars for the very same reason.
SCP: Find Us Alive: (Weird Fiction, Supernatural, Horror and Slice-of-Life elements) You don't need to know anything about SCP to enjoy this. A research team gets trapped in an underground research facility when the complex collapses and the building is dragged into a pocket dimension. The tear it was designed to study begins creating tiny copies of itself, generating strange entities the team needs to deal with. And as if that wasn't enough, the entire situation physically resets itself every 30 days. And yet, this is genuinely also an office comedy.
Second Star to the Left: (Sci-Fi) Audio logs of a scout sent to explore and establish early infastructure new world, and the communications with the minder in charge of keeping her alive.
Seen and Not Heard: (Slice-of-Life, Drama) Seen and Not Heard follows Bet, who's still adjusting to life a year after a bout of severe illness, and the resulting hearing loss it caused. It's about the ways we make connection, and food, and art, and different kinds of grief.
The Silt Verses: (Horror) In a modern world where gods are abundant, frequently both commercialised and restricted, two devotees of an outlawed river god go on a pilgrimage.
SINKHOLE: (Sci-Fi, Weird Fiction) Forum posts from a data restoration community in a near future where the human brain is its own computer and one city hosts a massive void.
Starfall: (Fantasy) Seeking to escape her mysterious past and find some purpose, a young swordswoman joins a travelling actor's troupe. This new life is unfamilar and sometimes stressful, but she's taken under the wing of stagehand Fel, who's determined to help her feel welcome as she experiences the figurative and literal magic of the theatre for the first time.
The Tower: (Weird Fiction) A low-key, meditative podcasy about a young woman who decides to climb a seemingly endless tower. Gorgeous sound design.
The Vesta Clinic: (Sci-Fi) New GP Dr. Fae Underwood, with the expert transcription skills of resident AI Sec, writes up patient reports on human and alien patients of The Vesta Clinic, a medical clinic on the edge of human space. Really comfy and creative.
Victoriocity: (Steampunk, Mystery) Set in the steam-powered Victorian city of Even Greater London, an aspiring journalist and a tired detective find themselves working together to solve a strange murder. I say Victorian but as queen Victoria is now an extensive grandiocity of cyborg components following seven only-kind-of-successful assassinations, you may need to adjust expectations a little.

Solas is Neurodiverse.
This is of course my opinion, don't invalidate me, if you find comfort in this character then I'm glad, join the party!
• Info dumping (You boost his approval by asking him about magic & the fade... and oh my world does he have a lot to say about it!)
• Strong sense of justice... freeing the slaves, wanting to right wrongs. He feels so strongly about injustice, especially when he can sympathise (mages & elves) a strong sense of social justice is often linked with ND people because we are marginalised, mistreated and ridiculed. I can often get angry, irate and depressed when there's injustice in the world and for a lot of my ND friends it's the same.
• Likes to be alone (he still has friends who are spirits, but he doesn't actively seek out companionship with people) prefers his own company. (Hermit tarot... come on! I'm crying in INTP/INTJ here)
• Always reading, writing, he even paints a whole ass mural on the walls as skyhold in a short burst of time, hyperfocus/hyperfixation.
• Comes across as blunt. I've been told I'm blunt so many times it's infuriating when I don't mean to be, I'm just firm in what I know to be true and will say it without dancing around the matter.
• Speaks 'strangely' in a poetic rhythm. While not an exclusive trait, given everything else it holds merit.
• He does have a great deal of empathy if you romance him/get to know him, but on a surface level he seems distant because he doesn't open up personally! It takes a LOT to crack that egg. I'm 4 years into a committed relationship and I still get told I don't open up enough when I'm struggling with emotions because I keep them internalised... probably a trauma response but in Solas' case... yeah, definitely a trauma response.
• Comes across argumentative when talking about stuff to which the group (Dorian especially during party banter) will ask if he's upset with them, and he says he isn't. ND people are always stuffed in the 'uncanny valley' and seen as outsiders, or stand-offish... we're just not very good with social nuances in terms of delivery, but are deeply self aware of that and prefer to observe, and I argue Solas is incredibly self aware. (Knows when he is being 'selfish' or 'foolish')
• Incredibly knowledgeable on a lot because he's intensively researched it, has to know everything about that subject and becomes deeply immersed in it.
• He never lied about anytning, he just didn't throw it out there... Autistic people can lie you know... however not once did he lie, he just kept his secrets hidden, that's very different to lying. Lying wild be 'Are you Fen'Harel'?... 'No' I've kept secrets from people for a long ass time to spare their feelings and my own self interest. (Not as bad as it sounds ahah! Just an example)
• History nerd... C'mon most of us have a favourite time period that isn't this one...
• I mentioned the paintings, he's also an artist, as well as a dreamer. A lot of us have infiltrated science or the arts... or both! Most of the world's leading scientists and artists are ND. He probably has an idetic memory.
I have more if people care to hear it, but in my opinion and based on my own personal experience being AuDHD, I'd say he is. I resonate with his character more deeply than the others because no ND person is alike and we all have our own personal struggles/wins.
A similar example in media to Solas would be (and hear me out ahah) Walter White (minus the drugs) but intelligence and the way he speaks to others, hides stuff from people (and assumes an alias to seperate himself) I definitely see WW as Autistic. So why not Solas?
Can we please stop infantalizing ASD, and applying the manic pixie lense to it, there's so much more to it that just 'quirky'. Cole is practically confirmed, people have debated Sera being ADHD, but also they are painted with a similar 'childish' brush.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk ahah.

Male Alien/Female Reader NSFW Wordcount: 2,261 Commissions | Ko-fi | Masterlist
You've had enough of pining over your 'friend with benefits', and it's time to do something about it.
Tumblr media
You were sat at your desk in the Khonsu's medical bay, poring over patient files when the door swooshed open. It was Daury, again. He held up a bandaged finger, grinning awkwardly. You couldn't help but hide a knowing smile.
"Uh, Doc, I did it again. Cut my finger on the panel in the engineering bay. It's just a scratch, but I thought I should get it checked out, you know, just in case," Daury said, offering a gentle smile. His dark eyes, almost entirely black, looked away guiltily.
"Again, Daury?” You sighed. “That's the third time this month. Sit down, let's take a look.” You pointed him towards the examination chair, brow raised expectantly.
Daury, grinning, obeyed. "Better safe than sorry, right? Don't want to lose a finger to an infection. You know how my species are."
With their aquatic nature and low immune systems, the ardeomi were often prone to blood infections - but you knew that with his vaccines up to date, Daury was fine. He was playing a game; and you were happy to play along.
You unwrapped Daury's finger, examining it with your medical scanner. The wound was even more insignificant than last time. You fixed him with a dry look. "Wouldn’t want you on sick leave, would we? Are you sure you're being careful enough?"
"Oh, yes, yes, of course. You know how it is, always something happening on this ship," Daury responded, avoiding your gaze.
You applied a quick healant, watching Daury's face. Something was off. "Daury, you do know we have basic first aid kits all over the ship, right? For these minor things?"
Daury stammered, "Yeah, well, uh, I mean, why take chances, right?"
Your eyes narrowed. He was nervous, uncharacteristically so. Softly, you told him, "Daury, you don't have to make excuses to come see me. If you want to talk, just say so. We're all friends here on the Khonsu."
Daury looked up, a mix of relief and embarrassment in his eyes. "Well, I... I guess I just like the company. And you're always so calm and, uh, nice to be around."
You smiled warmly, reassuring him with a gentle touch. "I enjoy your company too. Just be honest next time, alright?"
He grinned back at you. "Deal."
You lingered in the medical bay, allowing the silence to stretch a little longer as you both processed the unspoken understanding. Daury was fidgeting with the now-healed finger, his eyes darting about the room. You found his nervous energy endearing, but it was also a reminder of the game you were both playing.
"Another victory for modern medicine," Daury quipped, breaking the silence and flexing his finger. "You're a magician with that thing, Doctor."
You rolled your eyes, a small smile playing on your lips. "It's hardly magic, just science. Something you're quite familiar with as an engineer."
"Ah, but science in your hands might as well be magic," he shot back, his eyes twinkling.
Your banter was comfortable, familiar, but underneath the teasing, there was a tension that neither of you was acknowledging. It was more than just the casual attraction that had started your relationship; it was the unspoken agreement to keep it hidden.
Finally, Daury flashed that expectant smile, the one you'd seen many times before, signaling the shift from playful banter to something more intimate. His six arms fidgeted restlessly. Almost reaching out to you, but not quite.
You hesitated for a moment, a weariness settling in. You ignored it, leading him towards your office instead.
Once inside, the door sealed behind you, Daury pulled you close. You knew how this went, how it always went, but as his lips met yours, something felt off.
You kissed him back, revelling in the taste of his lips, the warmth of his skin; but there was a lack of enthusiasm that Daury picked up on.
He pulled away, concern etched on his face. "Something's wrong, isn't it?"
You looked away, unable to meet his eyes. "No, everything's fine."
Daury knew you too well. "Doc come on. I can tell when something's bothering you."
"It's nothing, Daury," you insisted, your voice softer now.
He reached out, gently lifting your chin so you were looking at him. "You know you can tell me anything. We're not just... You know. We're friends, too."
You wanted to tell him, to voice the frustration and tiredness you felt about sneaking around, about the unspoken limitations of your relationship; but you held back, afraid of what it might mean.
"Really, it's nothing," you assured him, forcing a smile. "Let's not ruin the moment."
"If you say so," Daury murmured, his voice low and filled with concern. Then his expression softened, and his eyes darkened with a different kind of intensity. One of his six arms reached up to caress your face, the other five curving around your waist and back, drawing you closer.
You were aware of every point of contact, of the sensation of his arms embracing you in his warmth. When you first met, you made the mistake of assuming that Daury would be cold, clammy; but the truth was that he was absolutely perfect. Daury's build was slender and athletic, the product of countless hours spent in the engineering bay and Khonsu's gym.
He kissed you again, hard and fast. His tongue swiped against your bottom lip, asking for entrance; and you willingly let him in. You responded in kind, the frustration and weariness momentarily forgotten. You loved these moments with him, surrounded by his warmth and strength, the rest of the world melting away.
Daury deepened the kiss, one set of slender arms moving down to cup your hips. He squeezed your ass, eliciting a laugh from your lips; another set began to roam beneath your shirt, delicate fingers skimming across your perk nipples.
You moaned into the kiss, a sound that was both pleasure and a cry for something deeper, something more substantial.
He seemed to understand, his kiss growing even more passionate, more urgent. You felt him moving you backward, and suddenly you were against your desk, braced by his strong arms.
You broke the kiss, gasping for breath, your eyes meeting his. They were filled with desire, but also with an understanding, a hint of the same longing you felt. Maybe, while you gasped for breath, lips kiss-swollen, it wasn’t too much to believe that he wanted the same thing you did.
"Daury," you whispered, unable to find the words.
He silenced you with another kiss, his lips moving down to your neck, his arms tightening around you. The desk was forgotten, the starship Khonsu was forgotten. In that moment, there was only Daury, only the feel of his hands on your skin and the fire in your belly.
Even as you lost yourself to him, there was a part of you that knew this wasn't enough. You wanted more from Daury, more from your relationship. You wanted to be able to share these moments without hiding, without the constant fear of discovery.
Eventually, the urgency faded, replaced by a gentle, lingering affection. Daury's kisses grew softer, more tender, as if he too sensed that something had changed between you.
"What's going on, Doc?" he finally asked, his voice gentle but insistent. "I know there's something bothering you. You can tell me."
You looked away, your heart pounding. The words were there, at the tip of your tongue, but you were afraid to say them. You were afraid of what they might mean, of what they might change.
"Come on," Daury pressed, his voice soft but firm. "I’m not giving up."
Then, without warning, the words spilled out of you. "I love you, Daury," you blurted, the confession raw and unguarded. "I want to be with you properly. Not as a secret, not hidden behind closed doors. I want... I want more."
You looked up at him, your heart in your throat, expecting anger or shock or disappointment; but Daury only smiled, his eyes soft and filled with understanding.
"I want that too, you know," he said quietly, his voice filled with emotion. "I've wanted it for a long time. I just figured… with your work, and whatever this is between us… you always seemed happy with how things are."
The relief was overwhelming, a sudden release of pressure that left you breathless. You reached up to touch his face, your fingers trembling. His skin was warm and smooth beneath your touch. "Really?"
He nodded, his smile growing wider. "Really. I love you too. I want to be with you, really with you. I know it might not be easy, working on the ship together, our difference in species-”
You cut him off with a kiss. It was rough and desperate, sending a shiver straight down your spine. You clung to him like a lifeline, eyes squeezed shut against the sudden rush of arousal flooding through your lower abdomen.
Daury returned the kiss, his arms pulling you closer, the slender strength of his body a comforting presence. You could feel the heat of him, the smoothness of his skin, the gentle caress of his arms.
One set of Daury's arms moved to your uniform, deftly unfastening the catches and zippers, while the others continued to hold you, to caress you. You helped him, eager to be free of the constraining fabric, to feel his skin against yours.
Your uniform fell to the floor, and Daury's eyes roamed over you, taking in your body with a hunger that matched your own. You reached for him, your fingers exploring the smooth contours of his chest, his abdomen, then dipping lower to the hemline of his trousers. He was beautiful to you, every inch of him a pleasure to touch.
He returned the favour, his hands moving over your body with a reverence that sent shivers down your spine. You felt worshipped, cherished, and it only heightened your desire for him.
Daury's lips moved down your neck, trailing kisses along your collarbone, down to your breasts. His touch was gentle, but his mouth was insistent, and you arched into him, moaning at the sensation.
You reached for him again, your hands finding his uniform, stripping him of it with a hunger that mirrored his own. You wanted him, all of him, in a way that went beyond mere physical pleasure.
As your bodies finally met, skin against skin, arousal lit up across your skin. You could feel his erection digging into your thigh; without even looking down, you knew he was big. Really big. It had only been a few scarce days since your last tryst, you remembered him well. It sent a shiver through you, arousal and impatience swirling into one.
Daury lifted you onto the desk, his arms supporting you, his body pressing against yours. You wrapped your legs around him, pulling him closer, needing to feel him, to lose yourself in him.
He entered you swiftly, already coated in a natural, sweet-smelling lubrication that made your head spin with desire. With need. He filled you so completely, so easily despite his size. No matter how often you did this, it always left you breathless to feel how effortless he made it seem.
Even now, hazy with pleasure, Daury still made sure to start you off slow. His thrusts were long, slow, even as his beautiful face contorted in pleasure. His skin was a dappled blue, speckled with a gorgeous, pale grey; there was already a sheen of sweat glistening on his forehead.
“I missed this,” Daury gasped, as if it had been weeks since you’d last been together. Already he was beginning to quicken, pumping in and out of you with a desperation matched only by your own muffled moans.
You reached release all too soon, hands gripping Daury’s narrow shoulders. You felt Daury stiffen above you, a gasp leaving his lips, before he all but collapsed on top of you.
Back pressed into the desk, riding out the wave of your climax, it was as if you forgot how to think.
With a contented sigh, you rested in Daury's arms for a while, simply enjoying the closeness and the shared understanding of what had just transpired between you. Soon though, reality began to creep in, reminding you of your responsibilities aboard the Khonsu.
"I've got patients waiting," you murmured, regret in your voice.
Daury's arms tightened around you for a moment, as if he wanted to hold on just a little longer, but then he released you, understanding in his eyes.
"Of course," he said, his voice gentle. "Duty calls."
He helped you off the desk, and you both began to clean up, working together with the ease and familiarity born of months of secret encounters. It was different this time, though. Easier.
As you dressed, Daury's eyes met yours, a question in their depths. "Hey Doc, would you... would you like to go out to dinner with me tonight? After work, I mean."
His voice was almost shy, and you couldn't help but smile at the way he seemed unsure, as if he was afraid you might say no.
"I'd love to, Daury," you said, your voice filled with warmth. "I'd love that very much."
The relief and joy in his eyes were palpable, and you reached up to kiss him, a sweet, lingering kiss that was a promise of more to come.
"Then it's a date," he said, his voice lighter than you’d ever heard it.
You nodded, returning his smile. "A real date."

Introduction
Tumblr media
Hello. My name is Sophora. I am a Pokemon veterinarian. I live in Unova, but at the time of this writing, I am beginning a temporary stay in Johto to assist with a research project.
My blog is mostly thoughts and discussions of Pokemon care and science, as well as what photos I wish to share.
I am a former member of Team Plasma. My duties were to care for Pokemon injured by human deeds, and assess whether they could be released into the wild. Though I was nothing more than a child in training at the time. I wish to be clear that I, along with most Team Plasma members you will ever encounter, were fooled by Ghetsis, and truly do wish for improving the lives of Pokemon.
My sole Pokemon is a Zorua named Beans. I have had her for many years, and she is my dear companion.
I am often told I have no sense of humor, so please do not expect much in the way of jokes or banter from me. I am also often called rude, or at the very least blunt.
I will speak often on Pokemon care, as mentioned. I will answer any questions on Pokemon care when I am able, though I am mostly only familiar with Pokemon of the Unova region, and some of the Kanjoh region. I also will often speak on the life of a veterinarian and what sort of things one is expected to do in this job.
The difference between a Pokemon veterinarian and a Pokemon Center, for the record, generally involves overall health versus injuries. If it was a problem or health issue that came from battle, you go to a Center. If it is an overall health issue that did not come from battling, go to a veterinarian. Generally, we will refer you to the other one if you got it wrong.
My hobbies are reading and photography. I have given lectures about Pokemon care at conferences before, and I enjoy trying new foods. I am something of a coffee enthusiast, as well.
Most people I mention on this blog, I will be changing their names. This includes myself- Rotomphones should not replace basic internet safety for you all. The main exceptions will be people on this site who use their real name, and people who are otherwise too famous that it would be pointless to try to change their name.
I look forward to pleasant conversations with you all.
//OOC under the cut!
Player is over 21.
All posts will be tagged with 'pkmn irl' and 'unreality'.
This is, obviously, a Pokemon IRL rp blog.
I intend to not get involved in high stakes with the possibly exception of Team Winter stuff, or things that otherwise catch my interest. Most of them will be assumed to not happen.
Some notes on character canon!
Sapient Pokemon do not exist. There are rare exceptions, but they are extremely special and noteworthy. Pokemon intelligence varies, but generally they're animals. As a result, I would prefer not to interact with sapient Pokemon blogs, and if you do, Sophora will assume that you're a child roleplaying.
Legendary Pokemon are rare. The mainline games are canon but generally, Sophora doesn't know a lot of what happened. If it wasn't on the scale of Kyogre and Groudon, Sophora probably didn't hear about it! Sophora does not believe in a lot of legendary Pokemon as a result.
I do not do the whole 'magic anon' thing and such asks will be ignored.
Human-obtainable superpowers are Aura and psychic powers. That's about it. There are no other superpowers. Legendaries do not give children superpowers.
Legendaries may have been worshipped as gods but are not gods. There is no Arceus-based religion. People do not worship Arceus and do not treat it as the Christian god.
Most products that get parodied do not have the Pokemon parody names, and they just have the real world name. However, it is an in-universe meme to force Pokemon names into the product name, and that's why everyone has such differences (i.e. the proper name for the place is Starbucks, but some people call it Starlybucks and others call it Staryubucks, because it's a meme, not the real name.)
I want to avoid crossover stuff, it is not to my interest.
I want to try to keep to the tone of Pokemon as much as possible, so I'm going to be ignoring most things about murder and killing (unless it is a Cubone's mother).
Sophora can be, and often is, wrong about various subjects. However, she is a veterinarian and thus generally going to be correct about Pokemon care. Please do not show up to just correct me and claim my character doesn't know what she's talking about.
I try to avoid getting involved with the 'multiverse' stuff. As far as Sophora is concerned, there is only one reality, and it's hers. Please do not get deep into the weeds on that with her so I don't have to think about it too hard.
Animals exist! Pokemon are part of the ecosystem but normal animals exist, too. They just don't come up often because they aren't relevant.
Sorry if that sounds like too much stuff! I just wanted to be very clear from the outset.
EDIT:
If you are not someone already relevant about it, I will not acknowledge any asks where you try to prove legendary Pokemon. It's much funnier if Sophora refuses to believe in them. For understanding of the gag, please watch this video.
Sophora will not ever see or acknowledge a Legendary Pokemon outside of very specific circumstances. Please do not try to force the issue.

My thoughts/headcanons about the different styles of magic across Thedas. I'm skipping avvar and elvhenan because... idk i don't feel like it (we also can't really comprehend the extent of elvhen magic yet. perhaps we never will.):
SOUTHERN CIRCLES: perhaps the one we've been most familiar with until now. Solas criticises Vivienne on a few counts with regards to her magic and I think this sums it up: "Your rigorous training lays a solid foundation, true. It also creates boundaries, limits, where none need exist." I think that's indicative of the Southern approach to magic in general. The Chantry needs to keep its mages under a tight leash, but it also has a vested interest in training them to be useful, especially in a military capacity. Within the Circles there is some room for experimentation and advancement, but it's always limited by fear and the harsh regulations imposed on their use of magic.
Therefore I think Southern Circle magic tends towards the practical, the utilitarian, somewhat of an inflexible, blunt approach. They likely favour elemental magic, though spirit healing seems to be reluctantly tolerated for its sheer usefulness. There's some variety, though, such as the Kirkwall Circle favouring Force Magic.
TEVINTER: obviously Tevinter mages enjoy a great deal more freedom in terms of magic, and can freely experiment and push the limits, in fact they're incentivised to do so. Leaving aside blood magic for now, magic is an intrinsic part of Tevinter culture, and Circles are regarded as prestigious academies-- I think magic there is viewed as an art, a science. Obviously from a banter between Solas and Dorian we know that Tevinter stole techniques from the ancient elves. There are likely some similarities although obviously Tevinter magic has evolved since then.
Imo Tevinter magic is about precision, skillfulness, refinement, elegance, subtlety. There's almost a certain poetry to it, though it is also showy, ostentatious. They appreciate magic for magic's sake, not just as a tool. I talked in a different post about how I don't like Necromancy for Dorian and I wish he'd had a specialisation that showcased an aspect of Tevene magic other than blood magic- like I said I think this could have been glyph-based magic, which is showy but also might require skill and dexterity.
DALISH: The Dalish mages we've met have been very capable and well-trained, so I think it's unfair to say their magic is inferior to anyone else's. I think it's simply different. Since they live so closely with nature I tend to think they have an intuitive, instinctual approach to magic, almost a natural ease. To Dalish mages, magic is like breathing, though there is a lot of study that goes into it as well.
Obviously we have direct examples of Keeper magic in both Velanna and Merrill, so apart from the typical thornblades-type spells I'd also say they favour primal magic (lightning, stonefist/petrify etc)- based somewhat on the fact that Merrill doesn't have access to the elemental tree in da2. Not that I don't think they can summon fire, but I think they view fire magic differently. This is my headcanon/inference but, like healers, Keepers follow Sylaise's Vir Atish'an, the way of peace. Sylaise represents healing, but also fire. For someone who lives in a forest, fire is useful, but can be destructive if it gets out of control. I believe they don't view fire as an offensive tool primarily, but as something healing.
QUNARI: again, Qunari magic is severely limited, even more so than in Southern Circles. I think the Qunari view their mages as basically walking rocket launchers, but magic is their blind spot. They're terrified of it, so they'll never get the most out of its possibilities. I mean, their mages can't even talk to each other, so what chance is there of exchanging ideas and advancing? This might be the reason why they haven't totally crushed Tevinter tbh. It does seem that Qunari/Vashoth likely make naturally powerful mages, it's just that their magic is unrefined, brutal, basic but destructive. I imagine they favour the most basic elemental or primal magic, hardly venturing into any other schools at all. The Saarebas seem to have lightning abilities in-game, which fits a society which is technologically advanced but limited when it comes to magic.
NEVARRA: so obviously we've got the Mortalitasi. Tbh I'm not as interested in the Mortalitasi as I could be, I think necromancy just doesn't appeal to me in terms of vibes lol. But anyway, it's clear that magic in Nevarra has a ritualistic importance, it's dark and secretive, subtle, and even though it can be used offensively that seems to be a secondary purpose. I think, like in Tevinter, magic is likely an intellectual or a scientific pursuit, but here it also has a religious significance. Obviously they favour spirit magic and necromancy. Unlike Rivain and the Avvar, though, they seem to view spirits as tools/slaves- in Tevinter Nights we see a Mortalitasi using a wisp to stir her tea for example.
RIVAIN: ugh my faves. There's a good chance we'll get to see this in the next game and I couldn't be more excited. We know that the women are trained as Seers and commune with spirits. The Circles there are really just a front to appease the Chantry, while the unique brand of Rivaini magic is a natural facet of life. I think it's probably witchy, obviously spiritual, intuitive, likely also ritualistic. Obviously a lot of it is spirit magic, probably spirit healing, but I like to think they also use Entropy magic (my beloved) because the idea of curses just kind of fits the witchy vibes of it all. Since their culture is so entwined with the sea, storm magic also might make sense.

🎧 Teen & Up Audiences
🎧 3.5k Words
🎧 Written for the Grab A Slice Bang!
Unconsciously reaching for his katana, the blue ninja stealthily approached, only to have his heart ripped out of his chest at the sight before him.
A shivering form— a turtle such as himself— crouched perfectly under the desk as he placed both hands against his ears, as if blocking out the noise around him. His iconic purple bandana and trusty goggles lay discarded to the side as if they were nothing but mere trash, in a condition that showed fumbling and desperation from the user to rip them off.
He'd found Donnie.
Here we come again with the trauma! :D Hey everyone! Alice here!
Today I come with my second piece for the Grab A Slice TMNT Bang on Twitter, this time focused on my beloved Disaster Twins, featuring my favorite Donnie is Autistic HC!
The first artwork for this fic was done by @donathan, the second by Mad Lad, and the final one by Shirpowbra! Please consider following these talented individuals~

“You guys don't have to do this! Besides, my mom's home and she'd freak as soon as she saw you.”
“No buts, April! It's dark out and we gotta make sure the best party coordinator in New York gets home safe and sound. Ya know, for any future consultations.”
The underground sewers of New York City regained life in what felt like forever, as the light banter between April O'Neil and Raphael Hamato echoed through the slimy tunnels around them.
Months had passed since the invasion of the Krang, and the subsequent victory the turtle siblings had over the threat that fell upon their home. After everything they experienced fighting the Shredder, no one could have predicted that they'd be sucked into a new global-destruction-scale battle, at least not as soon as they did.
The time was spent mostly recovering, both physically and emotionally— with the occasional shenanigans that came in helping their new futuristic friend in returning to his timeline, which was an extremely difficult task, yet nothing a little science and magic couldn't fix after trial and error (more error than anything else, but Donnie wouldn't admit to that).
Being a hero was no walk in the park, and that was something the turtles had to learn the hard way. Regardless, it was clear that they needed some cheering up to do, which was the moment April concocted a plan alongside Master Splinter to host a party in their small hideout.
It took plenty of work behind the scenes— everything from obtaining supplies, to setting up decorations, to simply getting the boys out of the house for enough time without drawing any suspicions to their scheme. But the results were definitely worth it.
However, now that the celebrations were over and every last slice of pizza had been accounted for, it was time for the human girl to head home, since she had school the next day. Which prompted the current predicament in which Raph's big brother instincts wouldn't let her leave on her own without any company.
Mikey, who at this point had been collecting the empty pizza boxes littered across the floor, quickly ran over to the duo and placed himself between them with a sweet smile aimed at the girl. “Please April? You know Raph isn't gonna sleep unless you let him take you. I could tag along if you want to fill in the awkward silence!”
“Hey! I don't do awkward silences!” Raph huffed with his eyebrows furrowed together, only to soften the expression slightly in uncertainty. “Do I?”
April couldn't hold back her giggle while placing one hand on the snapping turtle's shoulder. “Let's just say you aren't the best at holding a conversation, big guy.” As she eyed the concerned siblings on either side of her, she let out a sigh of defeat with a small smile gracing her lips. These idiots would be the death of her. “Fine! But you both better be stealthy or I'll get grounded for life, and that's if I'm lucky.”
“Sister, you're talking to ninjas. It comes with the package.” Mikey replies with a smug grin as he tries to pose with his back against one of the pillars, only to have Raph bring him back to reality with a gentle head pat. “Easy there, Mikey. We've already got one overconfident player, we ain't got room for two.”
“I must concur, April.” Taking the trio off guard, Splinter's voice cut through the echoey surface around them. He approached while carrying an array of disposable plates and cups, even juggling one on his tail which contained plenty of plastic forks. “It is far too late for a young girl to be walking the streets alone. And do not worry about the cleanup. I shall take care of it all momentarily.”
This then prompts a fifth voice to join in on the conversation, Leo's bubbly personality completely unfazed as to it being past midnight as he approaches Splinter from behind. “Excuse me, I think you mean we'll take care of the cleanup!” As quickly as he arrived, the blue ninja immediately took hold of everything his father was carrying and proceeded to balance it on one arm, all the while sporting a cocky grin. “Dee and I will go through this mess, don't you worry!”
“I'm sorry, we'll what?” Donnie, who had simply been standing in the corner fidgeting with his phone all this time, raised his head in confusion, clearly sleep-deprived and ready to hit the hay.
“Leonardo…” Splinter spoke firmly yet with tiredness gracing his features. “You do not have to do this, my son. I'm more than capable-”
“I know you are, pops. Just let us do something in return, will ya? Consider it a thanks for the party!” Leo's expression softened slightly as he gave his father a smile. With a small push towards his bedroom, he continued. “Now go get some sleep! You deserve it! And you guys hurry up so you can help too!”
Raph couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of his father fighting both Leo and the exhaustion as he was pushed into his room. If there was one good thing that came out of the Krang invasion, it was the older brother's new-found respect for his younger siblings. With a roll of his eyes, he ushered Mikey and April out of the lair. “Whatever you say, leader.”
Once the echoes of their footsteps were out of hearing, the blue ninja felt satisfied enough to get started, as he turned around and took a good look at his surroundings. Everything from trash, to confetti, to questionable food residues layed around him. Maybe this was going to be a higher task than he initially thought. Nevertheless, he took a deep breath and quickly forced the tiredness out of his system as he started with the pizza boxes that Mikey had already prearranged. “Alrighty! I take care of the trash. Donnie, you start picking up the streamers.”
After not receiving a response, Leo turned to look at his twin. The purple bandana did little to cover the eye bags and clear irritation gracing the genius' features. “You really expect me to clean up a mess like this at three in the morning?”
“Come on, Dee! We're just getting a head start while the others get back. You can go play with your gizmos afterwards, I promise.” Even though Leo played it as a joke, he could tell Donnie wasn't in the mood to deal with his antics at the moment. With a sigh, he spoke up once more. “Look, I'm tired too. But dad and April worked real hard to plan this thing for us. Maybe the least we can do is help clean up the mess?”
The other's expression remained unreadable for a moment. It wasn't until the purple ninja shuddered in disgust that Leo knew Donnie hadn't fallen asleep with his eyes open. “I don't like this new ‘Responsible Leo’ thing you've got going. It's creepy.”
Mouth agape, the blue ninja sputtered. “I'm just trying to be nice, that's not creepy!”
“Coming from you, it is. I want my dumb-dumb brother back.” Donnie replied instantly, earning him another flabbergasted look, which annoyingly enough got a chuckle out of the genius. Well, he'd been having insomnia for the past couple of days anyway. What was one more? “Fine, you win. Just let me get Sheldon from the lab. Might as well have another helper around because I am not going anywhere near that moldy pizza.”
“Alright, you got it! Disaster twins in the house, baby!” Leo exclaimed with glee as he balanced one more cardboard box over his shoulder, his smile never leaving his lips.
Donnie shivered once more at the sound, scratching at the back of his neck in frustration. He was gonna need more than Sheldon if he was going to survive the night. “N-Not so loud, Nardo. Dad's asleep, remember? Be right back.”
And as such, without even letting him start another sentence, the purple ninja fled the scene into his laboratory. Strange, yet Leo didn't think to question it. He just wanted to get everything done so they could get the rest they needed.
Minutes went by as Leo kept sweeping the area around him. The garbage he'd collected so far could probably fill the Turtle Tank to the brim, and he had to stop and wonder how much waste could four turtles, one rat man and one human girl produce in the span of a couple hours.
His thoughts then began to drift towards his twin, who'd been taking his sweet time in coming back. He rolled his eyes in fake annoyance. “He totally ditched me. At least Raph will give him an earful when he gets back...”
The mental image of the red and purple ninja going at it was quickly wiped from Leo's mind however, as soon as a loud crash echoed through the lair. One coming from none other than Donnie's lab.
Despite knowing better— that it was late and that they were all sleep deprived and that his twin most probably just ended up tripping over the mess of wires in his little hideout— a familiar feeling of dread began to creep through Leo's body, before he sprinted towards the source, discarding the trash bag in the process.
“Calm down Leon, you're overreacting! Everything's fine. You guys are safe. Nothing's wrong!” The blue ninja kept repeating the mantra in his mind to steady his accelerated heartbeat, yet images of his oldest brother being overtaken by alien matter kept flashing through his eyes, and all he could do was pick up the pace.
The sight that greeted him did little to calm his nerves.
Everything was a mess. And not the usual ‘Donnie doesn't put things where they belong’ kind. No matter where he looked the entire place was trashed, with everything from keyboards to robot parts lying on the ground. Monitors were broken, cords were unplugged, and the purple ninja was nowhere in sight.
It didn't take long for panic to set in. Leo began his search around the mess of wire spaghetti at his feet. “Donnie! Where are you?!”
Thankfully the lab was relatively small, considering it used to be an old water pump system that his twin ended up transforming into something amazing. But that didn't change the fact that the structure was the same and there wasn't much ground to cover.
Turning the corner to Donnie's makeshift sleeping area, Leo spotted Sheldon on the mess of blankets, still in resting mode but definitely placed there just a few moments ago based on his location. The purple ninja was just here.
“M-Mmm…” A quiet whine instantly caught Leo's attention as it broke the silence around him. Following the sound with his gaze, it seemed to be leading to one of his brother's work stations. The desk had been ransacked as well— blueprints and sketches either ripped apart or swept onto the floor.
Unconsciously reaching for his katana, the blue ninja stealthily approached, only to have his heart ripped out of his chest at the sight before him.
Tumblr media
A shivering form— a turtle such as himself— crouched perfectly under the desk as he placed both hands against his ears, as if blocking out the noise around him. His iconic purple bandana and trusty goggles lay discarded to the side as if they were nothing but mere trash, in a condition that showed fumbling and desperation from the user to rip them off. Most heartbreaking of all would have to be his exposed shell, with visible veins underneath the translucent surface pumping blood at a speed that proved his current heart rate, and even possible hyperventilation, if Leo had to guess.
He'd found Donnie.
Without much thought, Leo instinctively reached for his twin's shoulder in what he hoped was a comforting gesture. He'd soon find out it'd be far from that. “Dee, what happ-?”
“M-Mmm!” With no hesitation, Donnie slapped the hand away and quickly backed away further into the desk, holding onto his knees as he started rocking back and forth. He wouldn't even spare his twin a glance. This struck a chord in Leo as he stared in disbelief at the teen in front of him— he'd seen this before. A long time ago.
Some parts of Leo's childhood were rather hazy. Expected of someone who was mutated into a cognitive sentient being when he was merely a baby, as Donnie once said himself. And even though most of the things he did remember were relatively mundane, there was one event that always made his skin crawl when trying to remember it.
A time when Donnie had just instantly fallen to the ground and started crying uncontrollably as he clung to his sides in desperation, almost as if trying to rip his clothes off with all the strength he could muster.
Mikey started crying too while Raph went to look for Splinter, and all Leo could do was stare not knowing what to do. He'd never felt so helpless before.
After their father took control of the situation and did some research, he sat the boys down to have a long and detailed talk about something called ‘Autism.’
“Donatello struggles more than all of us with socializing and interacting with the things around him.” The rat had said in the simplest way he could for children to understand. But he also made sure to add, “However, this does not make your brother any different from us. If anything, it is one of the many reasons why he is so special and intellectually gifted!”
Ever since that day, everyone started learning the ways around how to deal with Donnie's condition and make him feel as comfortable as possible. And even though the purple ninja would usually express that he was being more of a burden, no one ever felt that way. They were family, and that meant they loved each other, no matter what.
As the years went by, Donnie became better at handling his condition by himself, and in the rare cases where he needed support, Splinter would be there.
This was probably the first time since they were children where Leo's twin had let it get to this point. That could only mean this was serious.
Splinter was already asleep and Leo was alone. He was never the comforting type of the family, but damn if he wouldn't try his best to try and get Donnie to a semi-normal state! He couldn't leave the other like this.
As he crouched to be in his brother's same height level, he made sure to lower his voice, barely above a whisper as he kept his distance a few feet away. “Donnie… are you having an episode?”
The other moved his body slightly in Leo's direction, but still clutched his head as he gave a tiny nod in response. And then, as quickly as he could, he started moving his hands in weird gestures that had the blue ninja blinking in confusion until it hit him.
Sign Language.
One of the things the Hamato family noticed about Donnie's autism was the fact that he'd usually go mute whenever he was having a bad episode. And for those cases, the genius had started learning sign language to still be able to communicate with the others.
This fact alone made Leo instantly groan in frustration, which caused Donnie to quiver in response. Out of everyone in the family, Mikey was definitely the one who was more skilled at sign language, followed by Splinter, Raph and ultimately, himself.
Leo was at the bottom of the barrel really, since he never actually bothered to learn it properly.
He had to take a step back and reevaluate everything and search deep into the vault that was his memory. He started at his trembling hands with uncertainty, but was determined to get it right. Or at least as right as he could.
He began with moving his fingers into a shaka sign position, until he hesitantly started moving them back and forth in front of him. ‘Party’ , if he recalled correctly. Seeing Donnie not correcting him, he continued with pointing at his left ear and subsequently forming his hands into fists, shaking them slightly from one side to the other as he mouthed the meaning— ‘Loud’.
Leo finally ended with a pointed finger directed at his twin. He knew it wasn't the right way of asking, but he still hoped Donnie could understand what he was trying to convey. “Was the party too loud for you?”
Donnie's eyes flickered from Leo's hands to his face, until he gave a hesitant nod. With tears stinging his eyes, he signed something that Leo could understand. ‘Tired.’ ‘Didn't sleep’.
It all made sense now.
Ever since the invasion, Donnie hadn't had a single moment to relax— dealing with the aftermath in the city, helping everyone in the healing process, sending Casey back home. Nobody really questioned it because well, Donnie was never one to vocally express whenever he was in distress.
He was the genius of the family.
His intellect and technology expertise were essential.
Everyone relied on him.
But it was clear that even the strongest people had a breaking point. And Donnie was way beyond his.
Holding a firm yet gentle gaze, the blue ninja moved tentatively closer to his brother as he went back to whispering. “What can I do to help?”
Despite not being able to express it at the moment, it was clear that Donnie appreciated not being poked or lectured on the choices he'd made over the past few months, even though it was clear that it all played a major part in his current state of mind. He stimmed with his hands in appreciation.
After that, it was a guessing game around the lab as to what Donnie wanted Leo to get for him. Everything from a weighted blanket he kept in the bottom drawer, a pair of sound proof headphones that Leo could've easily mistaken as regular ones, and even aesthetic items such as fairy lights that were hidden under the regular light switches.
Leo didn't know how much time had passed until he looked at the clock on the nightstand, which read 4:26 AM in bright bold letters. He was rather thankful that at least after everything, Donnie was now a little more comfortable, to the point where he'd let Leo get closer and even be touched.
Once things were set up for his twin in the lab's makeshift bed, the blue ninja figured this would be the best time to take his leave and have the other get the rest he rightfully deserved.
But before he could even rise from the mat, a hand hesitantly held onto his wrist, causing him to halt and turn in concern. Donnie was looking at him from his spot under the bundle of blankets, a somewhat sheepish expression gracing his features as he mumbled out loud for the first time in hours. “S-Stay…”
Widening his eyes slightly in surprise, Leo let out a soft chuckle at the way his brother was behaving. He'd definitely deny all of it in the morning. “Fine. Move over, nerd.”
Donnie did as he was told and made a small space for Leo to fit into under the fortress. With their bodies pressed against each other, the blue ninja would've thought his twin would be uncomfortable, but the smile on his face showed the complete opposite.
Before falling into the peaceful world of slumber, the genius tapped three fingers against his chin with his eyes closed. ‘Thank you.’
Leo couldn't stop the smile from spreading. He held on to his brother's side with no intention of letting go. “You're welcome, Dee…”
It was clear that despite many months having gone by, the turtle brothers still had a long journey of healing ahead of them. And after finally understanding the value his family had to him, Leo was certain he'd want to be there for it every step of the way.
Just like he and Donnie didn't need words to communicate, he and the rest of his loved ones didn't need a reason to care for one another, except the pure fact that they loved each other.
And that was the unspoken truth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Ohhhh now this is a good angle!” Mikey took the twelfth picture that night with a wide and mischievous grin across his face.
“Mikey! Keep it down, you'll wake them up!” Raph hushed in the best whispery voice he could do as he scolded his youngest brother.
Once the duo had returned to the lair and found not only the party mess still intact but also their brothers missing, they couldn't help but grow curious. Just like Leo did, they found the trashed lab as a bad sign and immediately panicked as they went inside, until they were greeted with the peaceful sight of the twins snoring away under the blanket fort.
Mikey started looking through the loot in his phone's gallery as he replied in a whisper. “Sorry, sorry! I just need a little leverage for the next time they wanna steal my paint without asking.”
Raph sighed in frustration, only to turn and look at the twins once more.
His heart soared at the sight, and it was only fair to let himself relax as he ushered Mikey out of the room. “Yeah whatever. Let's hit the hay too, little man.”
Cleaning could wait until morning.

Mazikeen Bennett
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name: Mazikeen "Maze" Bennett
Age: 17
Height: 175
Sexuality: lesbian
Face claim: Emmy Myers
Mazikeen Bennett, the queen of sarcasm, navigating the drama of teenage life in suburbia. She had the whole clumsy-but-charming routine down pat, with parents who were supportive but perpetually perplexed by their quirky daughter.
Academically, she was on point, but her mind was always in the stars. Science fiction was her jam, and daydreaming about escaping the ordinary was her favorite pastime.
Then, in a twist of fate straight out of a movie, Mazikeen stumbled upon something bizarre in an old warehouse. Little did she know, it triggered a cosmic ripple effect that caught the attention of the Tenth Doctor. Imagine his surprise finding this sarcastic, accidentally adventurous teenager at the heart of it all.
Cue the TARDIS entrance and an invite for Mazikeen to join the Doctor on a rollercoaster of time and space. Suddenly, her life went from ordinary to extraordinary, with each Doctor bringing new quirks, challenges, and mind-bending adventures. Mazikeen became the unexpected hero of her own sci-fi saga.
Mazikeen is a vibrant girl with a personality that's a delightful mix of quirks and charm. She is the queen of sarcasm. Her quick wit and sharp tongue add a humorous edge to even the most challenging situations. She's the master of playful banter, making her a perfect companion for the Doctor's eccentric adventures.
Despite her intelligence, Mazikeen has a knack for finding herself in confusing situations. Her clumsy tendencies often lead to unexpected escapades, turning mishaps into memorable moments. It's not unusual for her to stumble into trouble, quite literally.
Mazikeen's awkward charm endears her to those around her. Her genuine and unfiltered reactions create an authentic and relatable character. She navigates social situations with a mix of awkwardness and endearing sincerity.
Beneath the sarcasm and clumsiness lies a fiercely protective nature. Mazikeen cares deeply for the Doctor and anyone else she considers part of her cosmic family. She won't hesitate to step up and defend her friends against whatever time and space throw their way.
Mazikeen's curiosity about the universe and her adventurous spirit make her an ideal companion for the Doctor. She embraces the unknown with enthusiasm, finding joy in exploring the wonders of time and space.
Relationships with each of the Doctors.
10th Doctor:
So, Mazikeen kicks things off with the Tenth Doctor. Picture it like the cool mentor and the sarcastic sidekick having a blast in the TARDIS. They clicked right away, turning every adventure into a mix of wisdom and accidental fun.
11th Doctor:
Then bam, regeneration hits, and now it's the Eleventh Doctor with his bowties and quirks. Mazikeen just rolls with it, adding her own sarcasm to the mix. Think of them as the dynamic duo of time-traveling banter and unexpected escapades.
12th Doctor:
The Twelfth Doctor comes in, a bit more serious, but Mazikeen's quick wit keeps things interesting. It's like a blend of gruffness and charm, tackling time's craziness together.
13th Doctor:
Finally, the Thirteenth Doctor brings in a fresh dose of wonder and optimism. Mazikeen's adventurous spirit syncs perfectly with the Doctor's enthusiasm. They become this awesome duo exploring the universe and having a blast.
A gift from the Doctor
The Doctor, later on gave Mazikeen a little gadget as a gift, a pocket-sized translator. That thing was a game-changer in their space adventures. Picture this tiny device – it's like Mazikeen's secret weapon.
This translator was like magic. It could decipher all those weird alien languages. So, Mazikeen went from "What are you saying?" to chatting it up with all kinds of extraterrestrial beings. It made communication a breeze, and suddenly, the whole universe was her conversational playground. But it wasn't just about words. This gizmo turned Mazikeen into a cultural ambassador. She'd help aliens understand each other, turning potential clashes into interstellar friendships. It was like the ultimate icebreaker, breaking down barriers and fostering unity.
Oh, and let's not forget the laughs. The translator had a mind of its own, sometimes spitting out translations that were downright hilarious. It brought comic relief to their adventures, turning tense moments into shared laughs between Mazikeen and the Doctor.
That little gadget wasn't just a tool; it was a symbol of trust and partnership. The Doctor handing it over was like saying, "Hey, you're a crucial part of this cosmic team." It became a bond between them, reinforcing Mazikeen's role as more than just a companion – she was family.
Relationships with the other companions
Mazikeen was also known to some of the Doctor's other companions, like Rose Tyler, Captain Jack Harkness, Amy and Rory Pond, River Song and Clara Oswald.
Rose Tyler:
Rose was like the big sister Mazikeen never knew she needed. They swapped stories, cracked jokes, and faced alien weirdness together. Rose's kindness mixed with Mazikeen's sarcasm made for a dynamic duo that brought a cozy family vibe to the TARDIS.
Captain Jack Harkness:
Oh, Captain Jack and Mazikeen – talk about banter! Jack teased her about clumsy moves, and she dished out eye-rolling comebacks. Despite the teasing, there was a mentor vibe, with Jack sharing his timeless wisdom.
Amy and Rory Pond:
Enter the Ponds – Amy, the adventurous soul, clicked instantly with Mazikeen. They shared wild stories and found humor in the chaos. Rory, the protective older brother type, couldn't help but keep an eye out for the clumsy one. The three of them turned the TARDIS into a quirky family hangout.
River Song:
River's mysterious aura intrigued Mazikeen. They had girl talks about timey-wimey love stuff, and Mazikeen was fascinated by River's complex connection with the Doctor. There was a bond formed over shared laughter and a love for unraveling the mysteries of time.
Clara Oswald:
Clara and Mazikeen hit it off like partners in crime. Clara's curiosity blended with Mazikeen's wit, creating a dynamic duo full of energy. They faced the wildness of time and space with a mix of enthusiasm and humor. Clara's guidance helped Mazikeen navigate the crazy ride of being a companion.
Hobbies
Given Mazikeen's adventurous life with the Doctor, her hobbies are as diverse and unique as the cosmic landscapes they explored.
Mazikeen had a penchant for documenting her adventures. Whether through witty prose or doodles in a journal, capturing the craziness of time and space was a therapeutic hobby for her.
With that handy pocket-sized translator, Mazikeen developed a fascination for alien languages. She'd spend her downtime picking up phrases from different species, turning it into a quirky linguistic hobby.
Armed with a sonic screwdriver and a keen eye, Mazikeen would take up space photography. Capturing breathtaking vistas on alien planets or snapping candid shots of the Doctor mid-adventure was her way of preserving memories.
Mazikeen also enjoyed creating virtual adventures or reliving iconic moments from Earth's history. It was her way of adding a touch of normalcy to their otherwise extraordinary life.
Given her quick wit, Mazikeen also enjoyed solving time-related puzzles. She'd have a collection of mind-bending paradoxes or riddles that she tackled during moments of downtime, adding a mental challenge to her life on the TARDIS.
Traveling through time and space introduced Mazikeen to a multitude of tea varieties. She developed a love for exploring different cultures through their tea rituals, collecting unique blends from each era and civilization.
A foodie at heart, Mazikeen experimented with cooking alien dishes using ingredients collected during their travels. It was a way for her to connect with the diverse cultures they encounter.
If the TARDIS is equipped with a vast library, Mazikeen would also indulge in reading various works from across the universe. She would even have her own interstellar book club with fellow companions.
Conclusion:
And so, Mazikeen's wild ride through time and space comes to a crossroads. The TARDIS humming in the background, a bunch of quirky friends, and Mazikeen standing there, faced with the big decision – to keep exploring the universe or find a cozy spot to kick back.
With a heart full of memories, laughter, and maybe a bit of chaos, Mazikeen's journey feels like a movie with an epic soundtrack. Whether she decides to stick around on Earth or hitch another ride in the TARDIS, the adventures keep going.
So, it's not really a conclusion; it's more like a cosmic cliffhanger. Mazikeen, with her sarcastic charm and protective instincts, leaves an everlasting mark on the Doctor's timeline and the vastness of space. The TARDIS doors are open, and the possibilities are as infinite as the stars.
hope you like her! my first ever doctor who oc🥰

hi it’s itsalwaysforyou!!! for the valentines prompts i would loveeee a jal + ‘spending their night walking through the city together’ if you’re up for it!!! <3
❤️ @itsalwaysforyou youuuuu get my initial unedited Jalentine’s thoughts!! They’re meant to be about thirteen here. It’s more bantering through their city than walking, but they’re together and it’s written and that’s the important thing!
*
February 14, fifteen years since imprisonment.
"You're being stupid." Jay insists, swinging around a chimney. "We can totally take on a bunch of pirates for the after-whatever candy spoils. We don't need to wait for them to grab it all and re-hawk it or whatever."
"Melt it down into mush," Mal says, around a tongue that feels a little mushy already. "Stew it into pink slop. Cover their potato shit with it."
"Candied potatoes," Jay echoes back. "That's what we'll do with it. Steal their stuff and make potato bombs with it. Candy outside, wet potato inside."
"You've been hanging out around that kid too much. That. The one. With the stuff."
Jay hops over the gap between the roof of the slop shop and the used broom store. "The one with the stuff? Very descriptive, killer."
Mal eyes the gap carefully. If they weren't trapped on the isle, if she had the magic she can feel boiling in her brain sometimes, she'd fly over the gap like a proper dragon. She'd have wings, and horns, and everything she could ever want, if she had magic.
As it is, stuck on the isle of leftovers, she hops over the gap without magic. If she wasn't on the isle of the lost, she'd probably be trapped in some stuffy castle in the moorlands wirh her mother, learning the ways of evil, instead of out on her streets. So really, who cares if she doesn't have magic. She's got more freedom than any of the Auradon girls they catch on TV sometimes, and she's got Jay. Her partner in crime.
And they've got a candy heist to plan.
"Whatever. You know the kid I'm talking about. The one with the--" Mal makes a motion towards her own purple hair, trying to wrack the name of the kid Jay's been obsessed with out of her sluggish brain. "The hair. The. DeVil!"
Jay lifts an evil eyebrow at her. "It took you that long to come up with DeVil?"
"Shut up, I'm not the one who's been following him around," Mal snaps. "It's not like it's an inconvenience to me or anything, when you're off following him all the time."
Jay's smile gets bigger. "I'm recruiting. Potato bombs, seriously. He's got the biggest explosions out of anyone in weird science."
"Like you'd know." Mal scoffs. "You haven't been to school in a month."
"School's for sidekicks."
Sidekicks, and villains, and any kid without somewhere better to be. It's not like they have options, on an island the size of Mal's pinky finger. "Yeah, and that's what I'll demote you to if we don't get this candy before the pirates get their hands on it. We move in early," Mal suggests. "Jump to the barge from the bridge, before they're docked. We can pretend we're with the pirates."
Jay laughs around the mouth of his bottle. "Argh, me hearties," he says, with enthusiasm. "Avast. Belay."
Mal laughs too, because they're alone right now, and it's not like Jay's going to mock her for being weak enough to find humor in something. "Perfect. We'll blend right in, they'll never suspect a thing."
"Except for how you humiliated the leader of their gang, and they hate our guts, so they'll definitely catch on to us right away."
Mm.
"Except for that," Mal agrees, taking a drink from her own bottle of warm, sweet cider. "Fuck the pirates."
Jay laughs again. It's a low sound, one that makes Mal want to do terrible things to him. "Fuck 'em," Jay says, laughing around the words, like he's not hurting just as much as she is, like they're not just two broken chips off their parent's shoulders. "We could do better."
The memory of their pirates is too raw for Mal to stop herself. "I'm better. Than them. You're better."
There's a half-smile slipping onto Jay's face. He looks strange and handsome in the light of the moon, which is the best light they get, up on the rooftops of their city. "You're drunk."
"Not that drunk." Mal admits. She's had half a bottle, and it's not the cheap stuff that'll fuck you up in a shot. They're drinking tonight because it's fun, and because they're maybe, possibly a little bit lonely together, and because not even the isle of the lost can escape the messaging of the stupid, silly Auradon holidays about love. "I could fuck you. If you want."
"You mean it?"
They're closer together than they're supposed to be. Villains don't care about each other, and they don't have relationships, and they don't break up with pirates and rebound with their remaining gang members, and--
Jay's mouth is hot and wet, and if this is what she's not supposed to have, than Mal might not be a very wicked villain at all.

Thinking about it. Might as well do a world-building updates once in a while, just talking.
So what’s TinySweetNight up too? Let me tell you about it in small bullet lists containing updates about each world I have (if can be applied).
Vivarium
Newest world-building project to date. I seriously haven’t actually created a world I plan to stick with since STC and Pantheon like.. 4 years ago? I think Pantheon might be older but that is debatable if you go by which has the oldest character.
This world is like a perfect balance of interests for me personally, it’s an alchemist steampunk world that has almost like a Jim Henson crossed with treasure planet vibe. Homunculi, stained glass windows, bright open skies, and a bit of evil science.
First time I am experimenting with standard fantasy races like Elves, Orcs, Dwarves, etc.
I’ll have to dedicate a post solely for this because it’ll take me a while to explain the magic system here.
Pantheon
Everyone gets animal hands!!! And also an animal form unless your Calypso. I think this ties things better than having very strange specific rules about everything, this is supposed to be fairytale-like. Plus I should make the gods stronger.
Maybe removing Kostas and Aegeus. I love those suckers but, again, they make things too overly complicated and their influence has only been in backstory stuff, never in the main story- besides from a small one-off story with Mars, heir to Alynth. But I think I can remove them if I just say magic is just a bitch like that, monsters are might be Locke’s fault since he’s the god of magic. (But oh, Aegeus banter headcanons are so so funny) I would also have to figure out a different skill set for Charis if I do remove them.
Hydra finally got a title, aka what they were supposed to be the god of. Judgement!
Maverick is still not a catboy and never will be a catboy.
STC
Honestly, still pretty burnt out from this. Everything doesn’t seem.. good. Too edgy. Maybe I’m growing out of aahhhh blood, gore, fun spooks, etc. That usually doesn’t bother me as I’m a fan of campy slashers, but all the time it feels like the characters aren’t acting right. I can’t get them right when I think about them or plan anything with them, especially pertaining to Zstlo. There’s too much I want him to be but it’s all conflicting.
Maybe there is too much stuff going on in the STC, but that’s the point since it’s my sandbox do what I want, I’m not limiting myself to rules world. I have been thinking of boxing storylines into named stories so I can better manage everything.
But there is also the side that everyone else.. seems to like it way more than me. Maybe because I interact with people way more about it, and I found that people seem to like it way more than Pantheon because you get these crazy cool ideas, the setting itself is awesome, and the characters I come up with are cool in concept. But idk. I wish Pantheon or I hope Vivarium gets the same attention. Maybe it’s because Pantheon is more of a story than a setting other people can mess around in. Idk how Vivarium will turn out.
Outlander that is physically apart of the STC and rips open reality.
WhatsMyFace? Added.
Shepard got edgier but same problem as Zstlo.

The current headcanons competing in my head about SL (+SL ragnarok) are:
The Architect plays Genshin Impact
Ashborn takes 18 hour naps
Lee Ju Hee and Cha Hae In training in Song Chi-Yul's dojo
Kanae and Hae-In as lesbians would be unstoppable force of power.
Woo Jin-Chul has been dragged by Jin-Woo to bed more than once.
Laura has her life in order unlike everyone else.
Jin-Ho is the only one who can keep up with Laura's business talks. Choi Jong-In, Sugimoto and Lennart are there too but Jin-Ho goes the mile bc he thinks this is just normal talk instead of a business meeting.
Go Gun Hee always bring Jin-Chul to a Cafe meeting because God forbid he hears Jin-Chul ordered food on a drive through again.
Querehsha absolutely loves collecting foreing bugs from other worlds.
Tarnak, Iron Body Monarch, likes wiccas and alchemy. He is also really interested in mythology.
Sillad, the Frost Monarch, dotes on his children and grandchildren by gifting them the best weapons.
Beru knows how math works (he created a castle ffs), Igris just doesn't trust him with math homework because he will say yes to everything that Jin-Woo says.
Bellion and Beru tend to fight each other a lot, either by friendly banter or just because they are bored.
Igris likes to learn more about human history and sciences than any other shadow.
Cha Hae-In gave the shadows a functioning tv for Beru to watch his historical dramas, and tends to buy a lot of university books for Igris.
She also gave them birthdays, only to a few marshalls and commanders bc she can't spoil all ten million soldiers as much as she wishes.
Kaisel hugs tank when they sleep bc the fur is comfortable and it gets cold sometimes in the Shadow realm.
In a world without the chalice of rebirth, Thomas and Liu Zhigang would invite Jin-Woo everywhere.
Thomas would have learned to humble down a bit due to Jin-Woo.
Siddhart Bachchan would have been so worried over Jin-Woo because the last time he saw the man he was pierced through his body by the Frost and Beast Monarch.
Jin-Woo would take some time to finish off the rest of the beings in the gap between dimensions. The national hunters, Jin-Ho and Hae-In join him. Woo Jin-Chul is kept in touch with Jin-Woo through Hae-In's cellphone.
They get to slowly rebuild the civilizations of the Denizents of Chaos while maintaining a close friendship too.
Woo Jin-Chul, Cha Hae-In and Yoo Jin-Ho awaken a stronger power since Go Gun Hee, Cristopher Reed and Jonas were the vessels before them, so the Rulers wanted to aid Jin-Woo through them.
The Rulers also gave them some of God's weapons
The Ruler whose vessel was Sung Ill Hwang, gave the powers to Lee Ju Hee as her and Woo Jin-Chul had to protect the earth with the rest of the hunters from the new foregoing gods that acted as a threat, that is until the rest of the national hunters and Jin Woo came back.
I'm the mean time Jin Woo and the national hunters (just Siddhard, Hae In, Thomas and Liu Zhigang) are acting as priests for the new monarchs that will aid them against the fight with the Itarim. (And also finding the Architects whereabouts to give them level up systems if possible.)
Esil and Hae In become sword buddies.
As the Rulers slowly begin to merge their powers with the humans, some start to gain characteristics, like Woo Jin-Chul suddenly has an angelic mark on his forehead. Lee Ju-Hee's hands are filled with Alchemical signs and her hair starts to glow a bit red as she uses her magic. Cha Hae-In has unlocked her angel wings. Thomas Andre's eyes begin to have the glowing cracks permanently. Liu Zhigang has a few strands of white hair that can only be seen through the black hair, he also has a golden accessory to keep in top knot in place, given to him by one if the Rulers, it tends to make him glow depending on how much mana he emits. Then there is siddhart who has a lot Yantra Tattoos on him, certain parts of them glow depending on the attacks that he uses. (Henna tattoos probably too??)

I'm married to @silveredfeathers, so no funny business, got it? Really not into flirty banter unless you're him... or @timetravelerpyrite, recently a boyfriend.

THEME: Pulp Fiction
This is the pulpiest of pulp, with cheesy action, retro effects, and comically evil goons.
A note: many pulp action films carry harmful themes, such as racial caricatures and misogyny. These games do not have to be played within those tropes; in fact, many of them explicitly disavow these themes. However, you might still find elements of 80’s action movies fun to play with, such as cheesy violence, overly-dramatic backstories, and characters with way too many powers to be believable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Feng Shui 2, by Atlas Games.
Ancient sorcerers. Slick conspirators. Control freak monks. Cyborg apes.
Armed with the secrets of Feng Shui, all aim to conquer the past, present, and future.
Only you have the guts, guns, and flying feet to stop them!
It’s back in all its explodey, chi-blasting glory — Feng Shui, the classic game of Hong Kong–inspired cinematic action — refurbished with a fresh bag full of ammo for a new roleplaying generation! Original designer Robin D. Laws rushes your way on a bullet-riddled gurney to serve up the thrills fans remember, furiouser and faster than ever.
Feng Shui 2 gives you oodles and oodles of character options - 36 to be precise. As a game about time travel, magic, technology and action, your character could span from an ancient martial artist, to a scrounge-tech cyborg from the future. Each character comes with advancement options, five stat blocks, skills, special attacks and abilities called schticks. The schticks are where strategy will come in, as you’ll have enough to give you options, although you may have few enough resources to make each opportunity to act a strategic decision. You’ll establish a character concept and a melodramatic hook to figure out your personality and backstory, and after that, you’re ready to play!
Spirit of 77, by MonkeyFun Studios.
Hey there, all you boppers! Get ready for slam-bang action and high octane excitement with Spirit of 77 - the 1970’s pop culture RPG that turns up the volume and never slows down! Kung-fu tough guys, good old boy truckers, starry-eyed rockers and hardboiled sleuths, all jam-packed into one funky, easy to learn game system that's Powered by the Apocalypse.
This is a self-described retro-alternative game, pulling from film noir, samurai stories, and blaxploitation films. As a PbtA game, it’s designed to really evoke genre, and boy does it evoke genre. There’s even game master advice that recommends that the GM (or, as the book calls them, DJ) arrange a playlist for specific moments within the game. This is a game of goofy, cheesy fun with over-the-top stunts and slick characters.
Atomic Robot: The Roleplaying Game, by Evil Hat.
Action! Science! Robots! Punching! More Science!
Are you ready for some two-fisted science adventure? Then it's time for the Atomic Robo RPG! Have you ever wanted to face down global conspiracy as an immortal atomic robot or Carl Sagan? The Atomic Robo RPG makes it possible.
The Atomic Robo RPG brings you the most explosive Fate Core System experience yet. This is action science like you've never seen it before, coming straight at you from the pages of the popular Atomic Robo comics by Brian Clevinger and Scott Wegener. Play as an Action Scientist or immortal robot, super-spy or pulp adventurer—or something stranger still from the hidden corners of super-science!
This game includes the core concepts of Fate, so everything you need is in one book. While Fate games are always pretty open-ended, Atomic Robo provides a lot of signatures that can help make a cohesive character group that makes sense within the fiction. There’s also an additional part of your character in this game that isn’t found in other Fate games - Modes, or broad areas of skills to help you figure out where your character is competent. You could be strong or weak in Action, Banter, Intrigue, or Science! You don’t need to be familiar with the comics to be able to play this game - there’s enough information in Chapter 1 to help you hit the ground running!
Straight to VHS, by Lost Cat Games.
A werewolf stalks the mean streets of Miami, but not for much longer. Not if a nun (and former prostitute) named Gloria Vendetta has anything to say about it. Gloria’s cybernetically enhanced buddy in the precinct notices ties between the werewolf and the Yakuza, but why? If only the scientist (and retired heavyweight champion) Tucker Smash could regain his memories. Only he knew the antidote to lycanism, and now the plague spreads.
This game is absolutely bonkers, in the best way possible. It doesn’t just pull from pulp 80’s movies - it pulls from cheesy 80’s movies, with wacky premises and characters that feel almost like Mary Sues. The core idea of Straight to VHS is that the characters are a combination of two tropes: a werewolf cop, a vampire hobo, a magical animal that’s also a spy, etc, etc. Much of the game is flavoured to cast your character as an actor; with range described as how close you are to the camera, while the GM is called the Director. One of my favourite pieces of this game is the character trope Paid Sponsor - you can shamelessly plug your product once per scene to give your allies advantages throughout the game.
Shadow of the Century, by Evil Hat.
Totally rad 1980s action... TO THE MAX!
Enter a world of 1980s action adventure with Shadow of the Century, a robust setting and supplement for Fate Core.
The year is 1984, and the Shadows run the world. The Century Club has been disbanded, the Spirits of yesteryear driven underground—only to rise up alongside new wave heroes to stick it to the man!
Fight the good fight in a gonzo game of underdog heroes set against the forces of oppression everywhere. Join kung fu masters, computer hackers, maverick cops, and more to right wrongs and prevent the darkest Shadows from ending reality as we know it.
Shadow of the Century is the spiritual successor to Spirit of the Century, a game about action fiction in the 1940’s. In Spirit, characters are powerful protagonists punching cartoonish villains and saving the day in fantastical locales. In Shadow, the tables have turned, and your protagonists are working against corrupted powers-that-be, doing their best to save the world undercover while also keeping their loved ones safe. Both of these games use the Fate system, and are critically acclaimed.
198X, by Sean. M. Dunstan.
IN A WORLD where gangs rule the streets and the police are helpless...
IN A WORLD where the rich buy and sell people's lives in the name of profit...
IN A WORLD where scientists push the boundaries of physics for their own benefit...
IN A WORLD where unknown threats can come from any world, any time, any dimension...
All that stands between the innocents of the city of Los Accíon and the forces of evil...is you.
The mysterious Mr. X has gathered a force of brave men and women who live on the cutting edge of action to stop the forces of evil! Prepare yourself. Lock and load. Ready your kung fu. Protect your dreams. And get ready...to fight back.
A game of 80s action movie mayhem built using the 24XX system created by Jason Tocci, this game is streamlined for a quick pick-up-and-play experience.  24XX games use different kinds of dice to reflect your skills - are you good at a skill? Bump your d6 up to a d8 or a d10. Are you particularly bad at a skill? Downgrade to a d4. You’ll get a specialty, a backstory, and some cash to spend on special gear. After that the GM rolls on a bunch of random tables, and you’re ready to go.
