Am I the only one who thinks that Merida and Hiccup would probably make a pretty good friend duo?

I think they might get along pretty well. I’d also love to see Runaway Hiccup getting along with Fergus. Merida asks Hiccup if he’s ever argued with his mom like she did in the past (and still does, but not as often), and he hits her with the “I never knew my mother”.

I want Hiccup standing in the snow all like “Oh, this is nice weather” while Merida is in some comically large coat all like “Did the logical side of your brain get frostbite or something?! It’s fucking freezing!”. I want them teaching each other their languages to overcome the barrier.

I want Hiccup looking at the tapestry of Merida and Elinor as a bear, then making a quick sketch of him and Toothless to show Merida. It’s a bit of a misunderstanding, but the feeling is close enough to being mutual. Like “Hey, look, I have a non-human friend too!”

Or Fergus sounding like Stoick making Hiccup randomly pause, but the way he acts is so different. Fergus is a lot nicer to him as a friend. If we follow the events of the first movie instead of Runaway Hiccup or if Hiccup lost his leg in a dragon raid after he ran away, then Fergus genuinely curious about how it happened, but knows that not everyone is okay talking about it like him and doesn’t press. He’ll gladly tell the story of how he lost his own leg, though, if you recall the dinner scene from Brave.

On that account, if they ever tell him how Mor ’Du finally died, Merida and Fergus will practically brag about how Elinor showed an entirely different side and it was the first time they’d seen her that mad protecting Merida. Seriously, she took the term “mama bear” to a literal level and used those claws. You could feel the protective rage through the screen.

Another sub-topic I’d like to bring up is that you can hear one of the clan leaders sarcastically say “Maybe it was carried off by a dragon”. I love that because it hints at the idea that the kingdom doesn’t actually believe in dragons. At least not everyone. So Hiccup’s stuck between proving that they’re real and keeping up the facade.

Also, there are lines in Brave hinting at the kingdom not getting along with Vikings. So imagine if in the early days, Merida handed him a viking hat to try to confirm if he really was one. She still doesn’t understand a word of what he’s saying, but the disgust on his face when he threw the helmet and the anger in his voice when he next spoke was enough to understand.

“I’m not one of them.”

Drunk Hiccup: I just miss my best friend right now. He’s outside, in the forest, and he’s not here! *proceeds to cry his eyes out*

Fergus: I… think you’ve had enough.

Elinor: Fergus.

Fergus, carrying a very confused, semi feral Hiccup: What? We’ve already got four kids, what’s one more?

Merida: Little brother or big brother?

Hiccup: Excuse me?

Merida: Are you my new little brother or big brother?

Hiccup: Wait, wait, wait am I being adopted??? What’s happening??

i think if you gave megumi such a personal and thoughtful that you actually created yourself he would short circuit.

he'd probably freeze up so bad that you're not sure what he thinks of the phone cases. but oh god if you ask him, "do you like them?" in that quiet nervous voice you get he'll absolutely break.

"like them? i love them, sweetheart, this is... adorable" the word feels funny coming out of his mouth but it's absolutely true.

the way you've painted each of his divine dogs so cutely yet perfectly, from fluffy tails to the markings on their heads, megumi was downright swooning over the thoughtfulness.

"really?" you light up right away, beaming from ear to ear, delighted that he liked your gift. "the black one is for you, obviously, dark and gloomy," you tease, taking the other from his hand. "and this one's for me" you're already deconstructing your current phone case to clasp the new one into place. once it's on you present it to megumi with another grin.

he never thought he'd be the kind of guy that cared about matching couple things. he always thought the tee shirts were kind of tacky, and the pajamas? don't get him started. but seeing you so excited about the things you made for the two of you had his heart skipping a beat.

maybe it was just because it was you, though.

he follows suit, removing his old phone case and tossing it into the trash- it was getting scuffed and dirty anyways, but there was no chance he'd ever be taking off this new one- and carefully sliding his phone into the new protector. he's smiling as he admires how it looks.

pretty. cute.

definitely a constant reminder of you, which he was happy to have around.

HELLAWEEN -What was the inspiration behind HELLAWEEN/How did it come to be?

In 2014 I had just graduated college and moved across the country for a storyboard internship at a film studio. I had a huge quarter life crisis when the environment clashed with me in every way, which left me questioning if I had made a massive career choice mistake. To help take the edge off I decided I needed to come up with some characters that were as self indulgent as possible. So I asked myself "What if there was Halloween level of a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game?" and "What if My Chemical Romance wrote the soundtrack to Scooby Doo?" and thus, the main cast was born. Originally I didn't have any plans with them, I was just having fun drawing them for inktober and developing their personalities. Once the internship ended and I was able to set my career back in motion with some significantly better studio atmosphere fits for me in California, I started getting more serious about developing a linear story. I spent some time pitching different versions to tv studios and shorts programs. Got some great feedback but no real bites. Fortunately, I had a post blow up that caught the attention of my publisher who reached out to see if I was interested in doing a book instead and I LEAPED at the opportunity! HELLAWEEN is very much inspired by my own teenage years, growing up in the Bay Area, being surrounded by alt and skate cultures in the 2000's. As well as exploring identity, and growing up queer but the words for "how" didn't really exist yet. Plus a deep love for spooky cartoons and stylish anime, of course.

-What kind of music pairs the story/characters?

Gwen- Ashnikko and My Chemical Romance Miles- 100 gecs and Oingo Boingo Sloane- PUP and The Cure Hiro- Gorillaz and Maximum the Hormone Bea- AFI and The Used -Do you have any voice claims for the cast?

I’d mostly want them to be played by actual teenagers. But I have a couple in mind that I think could work—

Gwen I could see Valeria Rodriguez (Lagoona and Spectra on the current MH series) Miles maybe someone like Zeno Robinson (Hunter Owlhouse) Sloane I have no idea, but definitely a VO who’s non binary

With Hiro and Bea it’s impossible to not hear Dante Basco and Grey Griffin in my head.

-What are the character's pronouns/orientations? Gwen- She/Her Miles- He/Him Sloane- They/Them Hiro- He/him Bea- She/Her In general I don't want to define their sexual orientations. I'm an aroace author and it's not something I'm interested in writing about. Ideally, I'd like to give the audience room to project themselves onto the characters. Don't get me wrong this book is QUEER and themes of identity are important, just don't expect any kissing in the canon story. Headcanons on the other hand, go nuts!!! Can I get HELLAWEEN in ____ country/language?

Getting it published outside of the US is not out of the question, but at the moment I don't have any concrete info on that. I've heard folks have had good luck getting the book through their country's Amazon site or Bookshop.org Can I draw fanart/make my own playlists/write fanfiction/make a character?

Sanji headed out of the kitchen, leaving Usopp behind to hunt down his boyfriend. With the lunch dishes done, he had some time to pick a fight with Zoro. If it didn't last too long, they would even have enough time to have some afternoon sex. He found the walking plant life snoozing in the shade of Namis grove, Mr. Noodles curled up on his chest. A black spot on Zoro's white shirt. Sanji couldn't bear to wake them up. They just looked so dam cute like that. He needed to capture the moment, and he knew exactly who he could ask. Sanji hurried back to the kitchen.

“That was a fast fight,” Usopp commented, looking up from his blueprints.

“I couldn't do it,” Sanji admitted.

“That's really unlike you, oh no! Have you been replaced by some shapeshifter!!” Usopp cried out his hands, hiting his cheeks as he screamed and sobbed.

“Of course I haven't!” Sanji screamed at him, hitting the top of his head with his foot.

“Oww,” Usopp pouted, rubbing his head. “Then what's the matter?”

“Just go get your drawing stuff, and I'll show you. I'll even make you a special treat later if you do me this favor,” Sanji lit his cigarette that he had already prepared for their fight as he waited outside for Usopp to come back.

“OK I'm ready for whatever this is! But if it's a nude, then I want two extra snacks!” Usopp demanded his face turning pink from his blush, and he looked down at his art supplies.

“Nah, nothing like that,” Sanji heads for the Grove Usopp following behind him.

“Oh,” Usopp stopped right next to Sanji, looking at Zoro and Mr. Noodles cuddling under the shade of one of Namis' trees. “if he wakes up, will you defend me?” Usopp asked as he sat down and flipped to an empty page.

“Sure, but we all know when he gets like this, he sleeps like the dead. Otherwise, he'd have woken up by now,” Sanji pointed out while taking a seat next to Usopp.

“Well all right then,” Usopp began to sketch while Sanji enjoyed the breeze blowing the smoke from his cigarette away.

Concept: elf tav who is just under 300, all of her children died as adventurers or guards. Her husband and her became vastly different people in the wake of all the grief. They havent spoken in years, incapable of existing around each other before breaking down. The journey after the crash she keeps seeing shadows her kids in the various party members and as such she desperately wants to help them. Save them in ways she couldn't for her own children. A pillar of love and guidance because her children may be gone, but she will always be a mother.
