A little thing we did for the end of Transformers IDW, posting now that we have access to our tumblr again. These comics were life changing for us and we know they have been for others including other trans folks, for us in particular we figured out gender stuff, solidified hope in compassion and determination, figured out what we really want to write about and connected to writing communities outside of transformers because of that, loved ourselves more, made numerous friends and met the first person we have a relationship with.
With all their ups and downs, these comics have done an unforgettable good and we hope that the best parts continue in new stories- something we are already seeing some of happen on television and in board games- and in the souls of many.
The dedication of the artists and writers and consultants and all contributors to try to tell a story about alien robot life with feelings and identity, existential crises, war, death and the ends of empires while alongside humans and other forms of life is truly something special. thank you <3
(don’t have all the comics/didn’t have room in the photo to get in more/was precarious/forgot to put the motorcycle comb sister triplets for the movie comics, but even for various things we haven’t read we are glad)

Adding on MLP but as Transformers:
Twilight is originally from Crystal City, hence why she has an Outlier ability which is basically magic.
Rarity is telekenetic by nature.
Rainbowdash has a sonic speed Outlier ability. She wants to be a part of a group of flying Transformers called the Wonderbolts.
Fluttershy has a host of abilities considering her techno-organic nature, but one of them is basically "Friend to all animals." Oh and she can only fly in her robot mode, if her alt mode isn't capable of flight. All of her animal friends are just Deployers now.
Pinkie Pie is just chaos personified, so a boombox would be fitting. And yes her gator is a casseticon.
Applejack is very down to Earth, so I think a tractor would be her best alt mode.
Aside from Pinkie and Fluttershy, all of the animal companions of the Mane 6 are minicons.
Makes sense makes sense! I'm imagining Twilight amd Rainbow would be so pretty

Come on Starscream, Shockwave may not be big on friendship sure but he is big on logic and he has to see the tactical advantage in working together by now, his ego and Decepticon pride were just getting in the way.

2024 Media I’ve Experienced #3:Transformers/My Little Pony:Friendship In Disguise
My relationship with Transformers and MLP is complicated, I was never into either as a kid purely out of stigma from the Michael Bay Transformers movies or the reputation behind Bronies. I have watched Friendship is Magic in 2021 and I loved it and only recently have I gotten into G1 Transformers in October 2023 getting to Season 3 and I have watched the original movie.
As for this crossover I think it’s just good. Each comic has 2 stories revolving around two characters from both series teaming up like Rarity and Arcee, Spike and Grimlock, or Fluttershy and Discord fighting Soundwave. The art while made to be overly cutesy to the point of making the Transformers look cute still looked nice and had the same charm that some of the Friendship is Magic comics had. One of the main problems is that the Mane 6 and other FiM are always stealing the spotlight from Transformers characters, being the characters that always save the day and have way more screen time. Don’t get me wrong they are more recognizable characters to kids at the time compared to the 80s Transformers but it sometimes feels like MLP feat. Transformers. But I do like how these characters interact with each other: Fluttershy befriends the bots inside Soundwave and they turn on Soundwave and Rumble, Pinkie Pie hosts a cooking show with Gauge and they don’t really like each others food due to them being ponies and robots, and Applejack rounds up the entire Apple family to get rid of the Insecticons infesting her farm. Overall while it feels more appealing to those who like My Little Pony more, I found myself enjoying it from the perspective of a person who only recently gotten into these franchises. 7/10
