This property is a little funky and overpriced, but there's something about it, that I like. You have a choice of living in the main house, a cabin, or a vintage Airstream trailer. It has 3bds, 2ba, and they want an unfortunate $1.45M b/c it's located in Topanga, CA.
The house is clearly built on a hill, so it's a tall structure.
It's like a tree house. You'd think that it would be illegal to build a completely wood home in such a forest-y area on a mountainside, but I guess not.
It has a nice corner wrap-around deck. Big windows. Nice, right?
Tiny kitchen, though, and no dishwasher for $1.45M.
I would say that this is one of the upstairs bedrooms.
Look at this cute little room overlooking the mountainside.
Would've been better if they left a little more room to step into this tub. Love the leaded glass windows.
This dome is my favorite room. It's even got a loft. But, are those plastic walls?
Here's a 2nd bath. At least you can get into this tub.
There are several decks with different views.
This deck has a view of the cabin above.
Here's a small sitting area.
Here we are at the cabin.
It's a little open- you can see the toilet, and it appears that the bathroom may be one with the kitchen.
Rustic living room.
Has a little raised area here.
Up here at the highest point, is the vintage Airstream with a deck on the roof.
It looks like there's a little opening in the trees there. It's a great property, a .41 acre lot, but the price is outrageous.

There's a part of me that wants MWPP to have built a treehouse in the forbidden forest, just to have a secret place to go to that's just theirs (because the shack is different, it just is.) It's all cobbled together out of spare wood they found and bits of the shack that moony ripped up and the ladder is crooked and there's a little overhang where they'd stand to have literal pissing matches ("Bet I can hit that tree" "Yeah? Bet I can hit your mum") and there's things all carved in the trunk that are mostly worn away with weather and time, but inside -- inside is where the magic is.
There's full on conversations all over the walls, written in black ink. Graffiti immortalizing these four asshole teens in all their immature glory. Outlines of their bodies on the floor, and Remus had drawn X's for eyes and a frowny face on his. Someone drew an impressive rack of antlers on James. Someone else drew an impressive rack on Peter. (Below the left one there's a line that says "fuck u Sirius" and below that another that says "get in line xx") and there's the remnants of a dart board, holes dotting the wall around it, and there's a scoreboard that isn't for the darts but rather for the number of times one of them punched James in the nuts (Sirius was winning)
(James was also inexplicably on the board, with many question marks around his name)
And it's just this glorified lean to stuck up in a tree but there's so much history there -- so much stupid humor -- that Harry has to catch his breath when he stumbles across it, starts reading. Starts laughing at the notes reading "here lies James Potter, ripped a fart during Charms and died of embarrassment" / "THAT WAS YOU HAHAHAHA"
And it's all covered in moss and dead leaves and the ghosts of dead men and Harry preserves it anyway because it was proof they were alive, they were real, they were human.
I just think they deserve a little gremlin tree fort okay

Weird Houses
Everyone lives somewhere, so let's look at some odd houses for fun
Everyone lives somewhere – it’s kind of a requirement for being alive. Some people have apartments, suburban homes, or mansions, while those whose circumstances are less fortunate might live in tents, alleys, huts, shacks, or homeless shelters. Even those few remaining nomadic cultures still around in the modern era and following their traditional ways still live in their camps, it’s just that…

Here's an 1854 Anglo-Italianate 5 story townhouse in the Greenwich Village section of New York City. 5bds, 7ba, $15.5M and it's already under contract. The most wonderful thing about it is in the backyard, though.
Love the sophisticated main room, and the view, but tbh, for this kind of money, I'd really want a separate dining room.
I don't care for the floating MCM shelving with that fireplace. I think that the fancy crown molding is probably a wallpaper border.
A kitchen / family room. I like the fireplace and book shelving, but it looks like a wall was taken down in the kitchen and the kitchen was last remodeled around the mid-century. The linoleum floor looks original.
One of the stair cases- there are 5 floors, so this is just one of several. I like the niche. (There is an elevator, too.)
The primary bedroom is spacious and modern with an original fireplace.
Cute bath with a vintage tub and new shower. Look at how low the faucets are, though.
Secondary child's bedroom is also very large.
All of the bedrooms are huge. This one on the 5th floor has been modernized and has a beautiful skylight.
This one is also very spacious and is modernized, including the fireplace.
The ground floor at the garden level has been finished and doors open to the patio. They call this an English Basement.
This is very nice to have, especially in NYC.
From this room's window you can see the special feature I was talking about.
Isn't this treehouse cool?
Look at how BoHo the interior is.
This cedar deck is on the roof.
