Part 4 of timinette siblings with Kon and Bart coming over and bonding?
Maybe they were on an off-world mission of something and they video-called him
A second Anonymous person asked: If you make a part 4 (you do not have to) for the sibling Tim and Marinette, I think its time we see some protective big brother Tim moments don't you think? Stepping in when he spots a guy crowding his sister to suing Lila and Alya when he discovers the bullying, and the blog. Helping Mama Sabine bring evidence to the school board over the mistreatment of Mari, maybe his reaction to hearing Damien calling Mari a 'harlot' or 'tramp' (Tim totally goes to Luka for 'how to be best big bro' advice)
So I’ve decided to put them together. Enjoy!
Siblings Don’t Stand Back and Watch, They Always Get Involved
First <> Previous
Tim absolutely ADORED his sister.  She had done so much for him and he could never thank her and her their parents enough.  Tim had gone from hating who he was and feeling like a tool to be used and tossed away to knowing that he was loved and needed not for his intellect and what he could give, he was needed because he existed and they enjoyed spending time with him.  They were all so supportive of him and his choices, and he almost cried when they said it was okay if he didn’t want to talk some days and just silently stayed with him. No interrogation, no forceful tactics, not even a hint of manipulation, they just loved and cared for him.
He had explained all of this to Cass during a lunch they had together while Marinette was at school.  She had smiled brightly at him and said,
“Happy for you Little Brother.  They good for you.”
Her tone was gentle and he could hear and feel the joy and love that she felt for him.  Once he was finished retelling everything that had happened since they had seen each other in person he asked her about her time in Hong Kong and about all of the different things she had done and learned there.  He loved the way her eyes lit up as she signed out all of her experiences.  The way she moved her hands with such excitement and the swiftness showed just how much she loved the new city she called home.
After they finished their lunch Cass asked if they could surprise Marinette at school.  Now that Tim thought about it, he’s never actually been to Marinette’s school before, and it had been months.  He quickly nodded and they headed to Collège Françoise Dupont to surprise their little sister at her school.  Once they got close enough to the school they could hear a loud commotion which worried Tim.
“Look at Maritrash!”
“Where are your bodyguards now, huh?”
“Not so invincible now, are you?”
“I can’t believe she would do that to Lila!”
“What happened to the sweet girl we once knew?”
Tim and Cass made eye contact for a moment before both rushed through the crowd and through the school in search of the small bluenette.  He had heard things here and there about how cruel some of the people here could be, heard about the girl that could twist anything, but it seems that it was extremely downplayed if this was what was happening during their lunch hour.
They shoved their way toward the center of the gathered mass of students to see Marinette in the center, food completely covering her, and every time she took a step toward the crowd in hopes of an opening to escape, she was pushed back and something else was thrown at her.  And near the center watching what was going on with a face full of sorrow, but eyes full of gleeful malice and Tim snapped.
“Marinette!”
He yelled while rushing towards her which caused her gaze to snap towards him.  He quickly pulled her to his chest which caused her to start shaking, her breath spiking slightly, his shirt becoming damp.  He needed to get them out of Paris and quickly before Hawkmoth got the opportunity to use her rightful emotions against her.
“Cass, I need you to call Kon.”
He yelled over the cacophony of people yelling and shouting profanities toward him.  He couldn’t focus on that right now though, he had to stay vigilant and protect his sister.  She was priority number one at the moment.  He wondered where the others were, but then recalled that Chloe, Adrien, and Kagami were on a business meeting with their parents out of the country.  It didn’t help that Kagami and Luka were out in different schools, but that didn’t explain where Juleka was, and he couldn’t find her in the crowd at all.  He could feel things begin to hit him, but that didn’t matter because they weren’t hitting Mari.
Bang
The entirety of the school froze and turned toward where the noise had come from.  Teachers began to pile out of the room with looks of fury and outrage even before they noticed the crowd of students, but once they did their looks made even Tim shiver in fear.
“So you think it’s funny to trap the entire faculty in the boardroom just so you could cause havoc?  Well you’ve all got another thing coming to you.”
The girl with sinister tear filled eyes spoke, clinging to another student.
“M-Marinette did it!  We tried to get her to-to stop, bu-”
“I’ve heard enough from you Rossi!  After a similar stunt was pulled we were able to get the camera footage sent directly to our phones, we know exactly what happened, and so will your parents.”
At that the girl paled, and Tim felt a vindictive satisfaction.  There was a small yank on his sleeve and he looked to the side to see Cass pulling him towards the doors.  Kon must have arrived.
“Hey, I have a few friends that want to meet you.  Follow me.”
He whispered softly into her ear.  She nodded wordlessly and let herself be pulled along as they traveled past all of the students who were still being yelled at by the teachers and staff.  Once they made it to the stairs Kon ran up to them and looked all three of them over, slightly panicked.
“What happened Tim?”
“Can you take us to the tower?  We need to get out of here quickly.”
Tim urgently replied.
“Lila might become Akumatized.”
Marinette murmured against his chest.  Tim ran his fingers through her hair and whispered,
“It’ll be you if we don’t leave now.”
Tim gently pushed her towards Kon and looked him directly in the eye,
“This is Marinette, take her first and make sure she’s safe.”
Kon nodded and waited till Marinette came towards him before he picked her up and left.  Tim slowly clenched his fists and took in long slow breaths before relaxing them again.  He needed to be level headed right now, he needed to tell their parents about what happened.  Sabine had told him all about how she, Tom, and many other parents protested against the school to the school board and how, because of that, the school had gotten new administration and a stricter zero-tolerance policy.  They needed to know about this.
Cass placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, grounding him, keeping him present.  He carefully placed his hand atop hers, taking one last calming breath before giving her a small nod.
“I need to go tell Tom and Sabine about what’s happening.”
Cass gave a serious nod and once Tim released her hand they made the quick walk to the bakery.
To say Sabine was upset would be the understatement of the century, she was enraged.
“I knew it!  I knew that it wouldn’t be enough.  We are either transferring to homeschool or to a new school completely.  Kagami said that the school she attends gives out scholarships, I just know Marientte would be able to get one with her designs.  She is never going back to that Hell Hole ever again!”
Sabine yelled as she paced anxiously around the apartment flat.  She made a quick turn and looked Tim directly in the eyes, her face softening as she did so when Tim flinched back.
“Sorry dear.  Thank you for saving Marinette.  Please make sure that she’ll be okay for us.”
Tim nodded.
“Of course.  You’ve all helped me so much, and I’d do anything for her.”
Sabine pulled him into a tight hug that he quickly returned.
“I’m so proud of you Tim.  You truly are one of the greatest souls to be on this Earth.”
Tim could feel his eyes water, but he quickly pushed them back feeling Cass’s gaze on the two of them.  He could feel the soft smile she was sending the both of them.  Sabine pulled away a few moments later only to leave a gentle kiss to his temple.
“Tell Marinette that she can stay with your friends as long as she would like.  It will take some time for me to complete the transfer process, but it will happen.”
Tim nodded, his eyes showing a determined fierceness.
“Of course.”
Tim felt his phone buzz.  Kon was back.
“Be safe.  I love you Tim, and please tell Marinette that I love her too.”
Tim nodded shyly, still unused to the open shows of affection.
“I will.”
A pause.
“I love you too.”
It wasn’t the first time he had told them that, but the words still felt foreign on his tongue.  Sabine softened a little more, placing one last kiss on his temple before she stood up and left.  And with that, Cass and Tim left the small apartment to meet Kon who was waiting for them right outside.
“How is she?”
Tim immediately asked.  Kon stared at Tim in shock, his heartbeat was through the roof.
“She was very distraught, but Cassie is taking care of her right now.”
Tim let out a sigh of relief.
“That’s good, Cassie should be able to help her.  Alright, I need you to take us.”
Kon raised a brow, he had so many questions, but from the panicked look on his friend’s (practically brother’s) face, he knew that he wasn’t going to get them until this was resolved.  He bent down slightly, letting Tim climb onto his back before he scooped Cass up and they flew to Titans Tower.
________
Marinette paced around the room like a caged animal.  There was so much that could go wrong, and she was stuck here unable to do anything.  Cassie and Bart watched her with concerned eyes.  Kon had only given them the briefest rundown of everything, saying that this was “a friend of Tim” and that he had asked for him to bring her here.
“She doesn't seem very crash.”
Bart stage whispered as he snacked on a bag of potato chips.  Cassie rolled her eyes at her friend,
“No, she doesn’t.”
Marinette wasn’t paying attention to their words though, she wasn’t even aware that they were talking.  All she could do was listen to the thoughts in her mind telling her that something bad would happen and it would be all her fault.  That because she was gone she would not be able to help or save her people if there was an attack which would make her the worst and most useless hero in the world!  Then she would lose her Miraculous, Chat would demand that she pass on the guardianship because of how irresponsible she was, Tim would abandon her when he realized how useless of a sister she was and-
Warm arms wrapped around her causing her racing mind to pause.
“I need you to breathe Mars, I know you’re scared, but everything is going to be okay.”
Marinette sucked in a deep breath, she wasn’t even aware of how shallow they had been, but now that she thought about it she had been seeing small black dots in the corner of her vision.
“That’s it, you’re doing so good now.  I’d never leave you Marinette, you and the others, you’re the last bit of family I have left.  Even if you weren't, you're still my sister, and that means everything to me.”
Tears welled up in her eyes, but she needed to fight them back, she couldn’t have strong emotions, those emotions would attract,
“It’s okay to cry now.  You’re not in Paris, if you need to cry I’m right here.”
She heard a door slide closed behind her, they were moving.  When had they even started moving?  Her body was gently moved down and she could feel herself sitting on her brother’s lap, her head resting against his chest letting her hear the steady beating of his heart.
Thump thump,
Thump thump,
Thump thump.
It was a steady rhythm, soothing in more ways than one.  Gentle fingers brushed through her hair and the dam broke as tears fell down her cheeks and sobs wracked her body.  It wasn’t fair.  She had done everything right, she was kind, patient, tried her best not to cause a scene, she forgave others, she helped them even when they didn’t like her, she had done everything right!  So why did they all hate her then?  What had she done, what was so bad about her, what did she do to make others hate her so much?!
“You didn’t do anything.  It’s all on them, you are so good Marinette, far too good.  They don’t deserve you, I don’t deserve you.  But we’re going to get through this, we’re going to do it together.  I’m not going to leave you to suffer on your own, I’ll stand by you, I’ll be your shoulder as long as you need me.”
Marinette clutched onto her brother, letting her hands fist around shirt.  Marinette didn’t know how long they were there, how long she spent ruining his shirt with her tears and snot, it could have been a few hours, minutes, even a day.  Despite that fact, Tim never once left her, always either rubbing her back, running fingers through her hair, humming, whispering comforting words, and just being the comforting presence that she needed.  It made her heart warm and helped to silence the sobs and slow the tears.  Tim loved her, he was here for.  She had Adrien, Chloe, Kagami, Luka, and her parents too.  She wasn’t alone.  Marinette slowly lifted her gaze to stare at her brother where he gave her the softest most loving smile she’d ever seen on him.
“You feelinging any better?”
He asked.  Marinette nodded, wiping the tears away with the back of her hand.  Tim leaned backwards and grabbed a box of tissues from some corner of the room they were in.
“Thank you.”
She whispered hoarsely, using the tissues to wipe her eyes and a few more to wipe her nose.  Now that she was thinking a little clearer she began to look around the room.  A mess would be an understatement, but a pigsty would be an overstatement as well.  She could tell it was a form of organized chaos, papers scattered across the floor, boards covering each of the walls with red strings wrapped around them, pens were scattered everywhere on the desk as well as stacks of manila folders filled to bursting with different papers, and when she looked up there was another board up there, this one was empty though, which was strange.  It kind of looked like her room, except it was mostly paper rather than bolts and scraps of fabric.
“Is this your room?”
She asked, sniffling slightly.  Tim blushed a little in embarrassment as he too looked around his room.
“Yea.  It probably looked a lot worse before.  I have no doubt that one of them was nice enough to clear out all of the trash and coffee mugs.  I’ll be doing the dishes for a month.”
He replied, grumbling the last sentence.  Marinette let out a small hum, leaning into the warmth that was her brother.  So who are your friends?  Tim smiled at that before he let out a long sigh.
“The one that took us here was Kon, he’s the one that we saved from that lab I told you about.  The blonde is Cassandra Sandsmark , though we call her Cassie.  She’s an Amazionian fighter, Wonder Woman’s sidekick, I think you too would get along really well.  Probably too well.”
He mumbled.  Clearing his throat he continued,
“The last one, the one who’s going to absolutely talk your ear off, is Bart.  He’s a speedster from an apocalyptic future that is living here.  So if he says something you don’t know or understand, there’s a high chance we don’t know either.”
Marinette giggled at that, causing time to smile as well.
“Your-er, Mom,”
She snickered again causing him to roll his eyes.
“Mom told me to let you know that she is going to try to transfer you to Kagami’s school.  She’s probably already called her by now to ask her about scholarships and admissions.  I’ll help of course, you deserve the best.”
Marinette sniffled again at that.  She would be leaving her old school then.  It wasn’t technically a bad thing, but it was still a foreign concept in her mind.  That she would be able to leave and escape the cruelty there.  She still had two years of school left and she had a feeling that they would be well spent at Kagami’s school, even if she did have to wear a uniform.  She had once asked Tim why he wasn’t in school, she had learned that he had actually skipped three grades and instead of graduating, like he should have, got an online GED.  He said that it didn’t matter to him since he “was running Bruce’s company before he even graduated”.  Sabine and Marinette had not been thrilled to hear that.
“Can I meet your friends?”
Tim smiled at that, he knew she was just trying to change the subject but he would let it go.  She deserved a break anyways.
“Yea, I can also get you some water since they’ll probably be in or near the kitchen anyways.”
With that marinette slowly stood up, Tim followed after her though he stretched his legs first before he opened his door and began his tour of his home-away-from-home.
__________
Tim watched from the sidelines with a smile as he watched his friends/family talk with Marinette.  He had no doubt that they would all get along, but it was still a relief and a weight off his shoulders to truly see it happening.  He watched Kon whisper something in her ear, Marinette glanced at him for a second and Tim felt nervous.  The next thing he knew Marinette burst out laughing and Tim was blushing despite the fact that he had no idea what was said.  He glanced over at Kon to see if he could get a hint of whatever story he was telling but only got a sly smirk and sideways glances from a chuckling Cassie.  He didn’t know if he wanted to know what story they told her.  They had so many stories, most of which he didn’t even remember due to his sleep deprived state that it was frankly concerning.  For him at least, they seem to enjoy holding these stories over his head whenever they need something.
Slowly, Tim approached the group, his family, and hesitantly asked,
“What exactly did I miss?”
Kon shook his head and placed a finger to his lips, smug smirk still firmly in place.  Marinette’s eyes glittered with mirth as she followed suit and shook her head.
“Sorry Tim-Tam, can’t say.”
“And why not?”
He asked, crossing his arms and lifting a brow to look at all of his team members.  Bart zipped right next to him, causing a small breeze in the room before rushing out,
“It’s a secret story.  Maybe one day you’ll be able to find a way to unlock it in one of your side quests.”
Cassie snickered as Tim pouted.  He honestly hadn’t played one of his open world adventure games in a while.  He mostly played any version of UMS with Marinette and her their family. Tim sighed, dropping his hands to his side casually enough as Bart placed an arm around his shoulders.  He could tell that there was some sort of trap here, they were holding out on something but he couldn’t tell what yet.  The kitchen was clean (that was a first); Kon, Cass, and Cassie were all gathered near Mari; and there was nothing that could be considered suspicious on the counters.  There was just a bag of flour, one on his side of the counter and one in hers.
…….
Oh no.  Tim could tell that Marinette knew that he figured out what she planned to do.  So with almost inhuman speed she lord the bag and threw a handful of it at Tim.  He quickly closed his eyes as the dusted wheat hit him square in the face.  Quickly reaching for his own bag he began to throw flour at her, only missing and hitting Cassie instead.  The fight went on for a while, everyone getting involved until they were all white as ghosts.  Marinette and everyone else was laughing, he knew that this was her idea. Probably revenge for the last time he initiated this same kind of fight.  It was worth it though.  She was happy, she wasn’t worried about a thing, and hopefully she can accept his friends.  Let them be a part of their small found family.  Tim never liked standing on the sidelines before.  But just watching her, seeing her happy like this even if it wasn’t fully him that made her smile like that.  Maybe he could make an exception for his dislike, but only if he could see her like this more often.

Maribat Secret Santa 2021
This was harder than I thought it would be but I’m finally happy with it and I hope you like it too.
For: @timinette-is-best
From: Felix (liquid-luck-00)
@maribat-secret-santa
~~~~~~~~~~
Marinette is your average girl, happy, sweet, and completing absolutely done with this pink frilly monstrosity of a dress her parents shoved her in. She and her older brother, Felix, were once again being paraded around by their parents at yet another gala.
Well paraded isn't right, their mother and father aren't trying to be malicious, but these events are always so boring and political.
They were on their way back home to London from Hollywood and were invited to stop in Gotham to attend the 'Historical Preservation and Archaeological Fundraiser' hosted by the Drakes. This also means Marinette didn't get a say to what little 6-year-old her was a wearing. She was in the frilliest, scratchiest dress she had ever laid eyes on. But she put on her perfect smile and tried not to run into a single person or else they'll figure out how fake that smile really is.
“Nettie, we can't be over here.” Her brother pretty much hissed at her.
“It'll be fine Fe.” She waved him off, slowly opening yet another door on her mission to reach the garden outside.
However, this last door led to the library. Sure, she was a little disappointed, but she still wandered into the room, Felix close on her heels. “Let's just go back Nettie we won't figure it out, this place is almost like a maze.”
“Not as much as the sets are, or even home, but if you wanna go Fe, I'll just stay here for a little bit.”
“I'm not leaving my little baby sister alone in a strange place.” He crossed his arms and puffed his cheeks.
“You're only older by about 5 minutes, Grumpy Cat.” She poked one of his cheeks, which instantly deflated.
“I'm still older.”
“Never said you weren't.” She replied in a singsong voice as she traced the shelves, idly scanning the titles of the books. But that's when she ran into a desk.
Granted it wasn't hard for her to run into anything because she really wasn't paying attention, but she really should have because there was a person sitting at the desk, tucked away at the very end of the aisle. The bump startled him, and he looked up catching her eyes.
His black hair perfectly done back, suit perfectly pressed, and his blue eyes stared back at her own.
“Hi.” She raised her hand in a small wave.
"Hello." He answered her softly.
"What are..." She only got out before Felix interrupted.
"You doing? You went silent!" He finished her sentence, then scolded her before noticing the boy. "I'm sorry for my sister bothering you. We were just leaving." Felix took her hand and started to pull her towards the library entrance.
"I can lead you back to the party." The boy offered, walking towards them.
"That would be greatly appreciated." Felix answered for both of them, covering her mouth so she couldn't counter him.
The boy's eyes flicked between them, she noticed the curiosity behind them before he looked away. Once in the hallway the three of them were silent, but it didn't last. Where the boy and Felix went one way, Marinette turned on her heel and walked the other way.
“Nettie!” Felix noticed she wasn't behind them and instead walking in the completely opposite direction. “Where are you going?!” He hissed at her.
“I'm not going back to that party and getting my cheeks pinched raw and having to wear a fake smile the entire time.” She crossed her arms, having turned back to look at him, the happy charade of a face finally dropped, and you could see her tired, annoyed, and frustrated expression. “Don’t pretend you want to go back there and be paraded around Fe, I know you hate it more than I do.”
“Yes but we both know our parents aren't trying to be malicious about it.”
“I know that!” She gulped back the tears that began to form from the frustration. “But that doesn't stop the others from looking at our parents like vultures, I'm not a dumb little girl they hope I am, I know our family is equated to the Wayne’s in Europe. I know all they want from us is our money.” Her voice was so soft that it was nearly just above a whisper, so much so that she knows her brother would only be able to hear it because he was now standing in front of her.
“You both hate these galas as much as I do?” It was the first time that the boy spoke with any true emotional inflection that the two Culpa twins stared at him for a moment, before nodding.
“I suppose that's what we get for being the next generation of aristocrats and you being the only child of the Drakes, isn't that correct Timothy?” Felix answered for both of them once again.
“How did you, I never gave you my name.” The boy, Timothy, responded.
“It was a matter of deduction, that and your portrait was in the hall.” Felix pointed toward one of the many portraits, each seems to be of a young boy roughly the age of 5 then next to it an older version at about 25 or 30 married standing next to their bride, then another one for every child that was born into the family, repeating for every boy.
“That would do it.” Timothy rubbed the back of his neck. “So, where we’re you two trying to go, anyways?”
“The rose garden.” Mari answered as fast as she could.
“I can take you.” He answered just as fast.
“Really?!” Mari skipped over to him and took his hands in hers.
“Uh-huh.” He nodded.
“You don’t have to encourage her.” She heard Felix grumble.
“No, I don’t mind.” He answered more to Felix than to her. “I just need to pick something up from the library.” He slipped one of his hands out from Mari’s and pointed back towards the door.
“Let’s go. Tim-Tam.” Which at that point Marinette pulled him along instead, directly to the door they had just exited. And then Timothy was the one who began leading her through the rows of books, through the library back to the desk he was sitting at. He leaned over a large stack of books, behind which he pulled out a camera and then nodded at them.
Together the three of them made their way through the mansion and out to the Rose garden.
The warm summer night breeze made it comfortable so much, so Mari started to dance between the Rose bushes.
Which is exactly how the three of them spent the rest of the night. Mari dancing and watching the stars, well the few she could see little smog of Gotham, occasionally roping in Felix and on one occasion Timmothy. Tim-Tam took pictures all night, while Felix had pulled out a book and flashlight that he carries with him always.
The music from the ballroom lightly drifted in the air which continued to help Marinette dance and watch the stars in the sky. That was when she looked up to see a singular shooting star fall through the sky. She stopped dancing and stood still almost reaching for it she didn't however expect that's a little wishing star would fall directly towards her.
Well, it came towards her, but it ended up stopping and floating right in front of Timothy, who had moved right behind her. She leaned forward and looked closer at the mysterious object in front of both of them. It then dulled and fell to the ground, breaking in two.
Marinette crouched down and picked up one of the two halves. The second she touched it it glowed and turned into a simple curved teardrop pendant. It was a beautiful bright cherry red that she absolutely adored.
“Go on and pick it up.” Felix instructed Timothy the moment he saw how the stone reacted to Marinette.
So, he did, Timothy went and reached for the stone as well and the same thing happened it glowed at his touch and turned into the same curved teardrop pendant in the same red that Marinette's had.
“Seems like the legend is true, isn't it Nettie.” Felix was the first to break the silence.
“Yeah I guess it is.” Mari hummed happily.
“What legend?” Timothy ask them.
“In our mother's family, the Graham de Vanily’s, there's a story about the twin rings. It was said that one of our great, great, great, great grandparents made a wish upon a star, because she could never have children. The star heard her wish and fell from the sky turning into two twin rings. So long as the twin rings stayed in the family on the hand of one twin and their partner they would have a set of twins. The rings have been passed down in our family for generations since, but the legend has it that if a twin was to find their soulmate before they married a descendant of that first star would come find them and give them their own version of their rings.” Marinette told the story holding the pendant to her chest over her heart.
“So, you're saying we are soulmates?” Tim-Tam pointed between himself and Mari.
“Well yes and no.” Felix answered before she could. “It's a story within our family that's all, how this has imparted with such similarities is just that, a coincidence, however every legend, every myth is based in at least one truth no matter how unconventional.”
“Don't be such a downer Fe. It doesn't really matter does it.” She slipped a ribbon from her dress through the pendant and wrapped around her wrist. “I know you, I danced with you Once Upon a dream…” She continued to hum and dance ignoring the music from the ballroom, as well as the eyes on her, but she was lost her own little world at this moment.
It wasn't until a chilly breeze swept the garden that they decided it would be best to go back.
But not first without dropping the camera Timothy had with him back in the library and heading towards the ballroom.
“There you are!” a woman with brown hair and blue eyes, in a floor length champagne gown grabbed Timothy by the wrist scolding him. "You've been told before, never to disappear at a fundraiser and what do you do?”
“I disappeared at a fundraiser.” Timothy responded so softly, only being able to stare at the ground.
“Add what else have you been told repeatedly not to do at a fundraiser.” The woman continued to demand of Timothy.
“To be seen not heard, to stay by your side, to not socialize with other children.” He repeated like a mantra and Marinette's hands balled into fists and she also saw her brother's do the same. Because by now they realized the woman in front of them had to be none other than Janet Drake.
“That is correct. Now come.” The woman's voice was harsh, she turned on her heel, but that quickly changed.
“Janet, it looks like you finally found the little ones.” There was their mother, Amelie, walking towards them, a large smile on her face. “I swear children just have a way of escaping these things don't they?” Her smile looked soft, but to Mari and Felix they knew it is anything but. “Where did you two run off to?”
“We went to the bathroom and got lost on the way back. We ended up running into Timothy and he helped get us back.” Marinette knows her brother gave a half truth-half lie, but with the way that Mrs. Drake was staring at them she doesn't care in this instance.
“Thanks again.” Marinette smiled clapping her hands behind her back, tilting her head to the side.
“I haven't introduced to yet.” Their mother smiled placing a hand on both Felix's and her shoulders. “These are my twins, Felix and Marinette.”
“A pleasure to meet you.” The twins spoke in unison, each bowed and curtsied respectively.
“My son Timothy.” Janet's forced smile spread across her lips, but her eyes shone devilish, at least to Mari they did. “Well, isn't this a great thing that our children are roughly around the same age.”
“I agree, but it is getting late, and we have a plane to catch after all.” Mom said goodbye to the two Drakes and began to walk away.
Yet Mari couldn't help but feel as if she was forgetting something.
Mari just turned her head and waved goodbye to the little boy, that she thinks of as a friend now. Until next time Tim-Tam.
•••
By now years passed, Mari decided that she wanted to be a transfer student during middle school, so she transferred to France Dupont College for intermediate and high school, from London Preparatory. She stayed with her uncle and cousin, resulting in said cousin, Adrien Agreste, to start what his father calls his rebellious stage and got him into actual school life.
Marinette became the holder of the ladybug miraculous and hero of Paris, Ladybug, and also gained the title of Guardian of Miraculous. She however told her twin brother Felix, who decided for the next year he would also become a transfer student. All because he wasn't about to let his little sister be a hero and fight off monsters, if he couldn't be there to help her, thus causing Arctic, holder the fox, to come to be. If Mari and Felix also tended to swap miraculous quite often, hey it just kept Hawkmoth on his toes, as well as Chat Noir. Who as soon as he found out Arctic was Ladybug’s brother started backing off, and good riddance for that as they would find out later.
Together, the three of them, fought and defeated Hawkmoth, who turned out to be their uncle. Her aunt was brought out of a magically induced coma, meaning their cousin Adrien is now under her custody.
Paris was saved in about three years, thanks to a little bit of luck, a hunch, and the fact that teenagers (especially magical, god channeling teenagers) scare the shit out of all adults.
Their aunt Emilie, however, quickly figured out that her son, niece, and nephew are the three of the Parisian heroes. Which made for quite an interesting identity reveal and a lot of embarrassment. She however didn't stop them from continuing being heroes as they continued to work around the city with police and law enforcement.
That however is not entirely relevant to what happens next.
You see France DuPont College, London preparatory, Gotham Academy, as well as several other high ranked prestigious schools across the globe are linked by two corporations. These two corporations are Wayne Enterprises and the Culpa Corporation. So as a final year activity, every graduating class is able to choose the city of another of the schools to go visit. Marinette, Felix, and Adrien who all stayed at France DuPont had all gone too Japan to visit Kento Academy in Kyoto Japan, the school from which Kagami was originally from. However, there was another school that had chosen France DuPont for what seemed to be entirely random reasons, at least to those who didn't know fate and destiny were playing a hand in this.
•••
Timothy Drake Wayne cursed his adoptive father's name because one he isn't allowed to be Robin in this entire trip, and they are treating this as a vacation, so he has lost all privileges and is revoked from all Justice League, Teen Titans, all bat computers, essentially he has to be a normal teenager. Granted he could have finished high school at 15 but no Bruce made him continue on high school until 18 to graduate with the rest of his class. Tim was however already on his second master’s degree taking college courses, but we digress.
Bruce wanted to have him have a ‘normal’ high school experience. Thank you very much Bruce for making me join this bunch of babbling buffoons in the city of love and lights halfway across the world. He was really going to hate this wasn't he. But he stepped off the bus anyways.
There at the top of the steps where who he is assumes was the principle, the head teacher, and four students.
“Welcome Gotham Academy to Paris.” A man in a large brown suit, somewhat resembling an owl, started to speak. “I am principal Damocles, we welcome you to France DuPont College. If you have any questions please find myself, Madam Mendeleev, or one of the four student council representatives in front of you. Each class will be receiving a student representative to show them around the grounds as well as to answer any questions about the city to start you off.”
With that the four students broke away from the line of adults and made their way towards one of the four classes who came on the trip.
Towards his class came one of the two girls, her hair fell down to roughly her waist held back by two simple braids, bangs brushed against a forehead, her hair was such a dark black it shone blue in the light, and her eyes a clear blue that he could almost place from a dream.
“Bonjour and I'll be showing you around follow me.” At this point Tim's mind was racing trying to place the girl, as if trying to remember her from a dream.
The school itself wasn't extremely complicated which meant they were done pretty soon, and the girl was just answering questions.
“So, what do you have planned after this.” One of the many idiots in his class started speaking. “Because I was wondering if you help me with my French?”
“Pardon my French but fuck off. You’re not my type.” She easily transitioned to English, her accent he couldn’t place but her English almost seemed to be her first language.
“Do you even know who I am!”
“No, and I don’t care.” A smirk in her eyes. “Do you know who I am?”
“No.” He finally seemed to see her.
“My name is Marinette Culpa.” His mouth opened but she held up a finger. “Yes as in the twin heiress of Culpa Corp. So do you want to try that again.”
“Nope. I’m good.” After that he was silent but that was the last piece that Tim needed.
“Nettie.” His mind supplied, his mouth blurting it out, remembering he one night he felt like an actual child.
“I was hoping that was you Tim-Tam.” A smile on her face, she clapped her hands behind her back.
Maybe this trip won’t be as bad as he originally thought.
Why are there so many of you
Why are there so many of you?
Finally they met with different versions of Marinette. Enjoy.
________________________________________________________________
They were blinded by the lights coming from the portals. Multiple thuds were heard . When the light finally cleared, they opened their eyes only to see multiple figures standing there some were in different versions of Ladybug's costume, some were in civilian clothing and one of them was in an amazonian costume? Jason screamed as he latched on Dick. Dick couldn't even get his words out he was just pointing at them. Tim had an unsure expression on his face. Damian, well Damian looked like he has seen Ra's. Bruce's face was neutral to normal eye but to his children could tell he was HORRIFIED. Barbara jaw was on the floor. Stephanie screamed a high pitched scream while Cassandra stood uneasily. Alfred just let out a small 'aw' and said,"Master Bruce, I think we found out what this gun was for."
Marinette stood up, her head was still hurting, she said,"Bruce and when were you going to tell me?"
"The same time when you were going to tell me you were Ladybug."He replied in his Batman voice.
All the Marinettes said at the same time:
"What the hell."
"WTF?"
"What is the meaning of this Bruce?"
"Jason, you better have a good explanation."
"Dami, why did you pull me here in the middle of an akuma attack?"
"Daddy, who are these?"
"Brucina Who are these people?"
"Ricky?"
"What is the meaning of this father?"
All the voices mixed with each other and the echo in the bat cave was not helping.
"Stop."Batman commanded. One of them lifted herself in the air and glowed pink and then everyone's mouth was sealed shut.
Tim turned to Batman,"The ray gun somehow transported different versions of Marinette from different universes. They all seem to recognize us and they are not in thousands. That means only the universes where she has a very strong relation with us have been transported to our world. But why?"Tim explained."Were you in contact with her when she was hit?"
"Yes her hands were still on me."
"You are right."Oracle said.
The one that was floating moved her hands and all of the Marinettes stood in a line. She said,"I am going to release you. Don't make a noise."After they all nodded the glow faded and she stood in the line too.
"First which one of you was hit?" Their Marinette raised her hand.
"Marinette lay on the bed you are still hurt."She nodded and Alfred took her to the bed.
"So-" Jason was cut ff by another body falling from sky. They were actually two bodies. A very bloodied Red hood and a Ladybug. Two other Ladybug's went near them to heal him. The ladybug looked at Bruce,"Batman, he is seriously injured, he-he" She broke down. A Marinette who was Bruce's age came and started comforting her,"Shhh. Everything is going to be alright. We are here to help." Her transformation dropped. She looked around. She was very confused when she saw many people standing there in Ladybug costume and some even looked exactly like her. They were of different ages too. She looked around to see Jason on top of Dick. She stared at him wide eyed. When he saw that she was looking at her he hid behind Dick. There was a groan from behind her. She looked back to see Jason in his red hood outfit. The two people who were healing him fell on the ground due to exhaustion.
He also looked around confused and raised his gun at Jason."Who are you and Pixie....?"
She got out of the older Mari's grasp and pulled Jason into a kiss.
"You are in a different universe but why exactly has Jason come with her? Everyone else are alone." Stephanie said.
"Mari and Jason when you were shot were you by any chance hugging or something."
Marinette broke the kiss,"I was holding him tightly and when I opened my eyes I was here."
"Tt. Now we have to deal with two Todds."Damian tutted.
"Thank God, Pixie. Thank you. Who knows what we would have done if Batman was hit? We would have so many failure fathers to deal with."Jason now standing straight joked.
In a blink of an eye, a katana was on his throat. He looked down to see a Mari holding a katana at his throat,"Tt. Don't dare to speak about Father like this Jason."She lowered the Katana and turned to Batman,"How should we proceed Father?"
The second Jason said,"Are you by any chance related to Demon Spawn?"
"Yes, I am his twin." She said looking at Damian.
Alfred said,"I believe that we should do the introductions and let the young mistress sleep. Our Ladybug is already asleep.-" They looked at Marinette who was sleeping peacefully."-and Master Jason."
"Yes Alfred?" They both said in unison.
"Not you Master Jason, the young Master who was injured. Let me check you for injuries."
He sat down to get himself checked.
"Alfred I am not exactly a mistress so will you kindly stop referring to us like that. You can call me Marcel." Everyone looked at the boy. Alfred Nodded,"Of course, Master Marcel."
"So let's categorize them. They all know us. We can differentiate them using their stories."Dick said.
"That is good. You should all introduce yourself."Barbara said.
________________________________________________________________
Second Chapter is complete. If you are super confused raise your hand.
I hope you enjoyed.
Love,
Jasmehraj.
Twin!Sibling Tim and Marinette where Tim is digging into his parents old files one day and discovers he had a younger twin sibling that was given up cause she wasn't planned. Tim does what Tim does best starts tracking down where she was sent/adopted to and finds out she's in Paris. Marinette has always known she was adopted and doesn't even bat an eye when he shows up. Basically they bond over coffee/riddles/problem solving, and discover each other hero identities.
Siblings don’t shake hands, siblings gotta hug!
sorry this took so long!
Tim didn’t want to be at the manor.  He was tired, and it wasn’t because he hadn’t slept in like 4 days, no his tiredness was bone deep.  It has been a year now since he was proven right that Bruce was indeed alive.  He was right, but Dick never apologized, Damian was still trying to kill him, Jason was still doing his thing in Crime Alley, and as long as he stayed far away from there he would be fine.  Bruce, at least he had thanked him when Tim had pulled him out of the time stream.  But that wasn’t enough, because he never stopped Damian’s many attempts to kill him, he often let Jason, his also attempted murderer, into the manor whenever the guy wanted!  Dick had even threatened to send him to Arkham for even suggesting that Bruce was alive, and would you look at that, he is!  So no, he didn’t feel safe at the manor.  And yes, he was tired of doing so much for everyone and having to be trampled on and thrown away for someone or something new.
He didn’t know why he was at Drake Manor.  Honestly this place wasn’t any better, but he knew that no one would ever think to look here.  So he let the back of his mind take control and he wandered through old dusty rooms.  He was honestly surprised Bruce was still spending his money to keep this place.  He was wandering through his father’s old office and saw a filing cabinet.  Why not, Tim thought tiredly as he opened one of the drawers and he was met with files upon files.  Some mindless work would be good for him, it would keep his mind off of his horrible thoughts and the feelings he really didn’t need right now.
He didn’t know how long he sat there, just going through old documents, bills, reports, but it was fine.  Well it was fine until he stumbled upon a birth certificate that wasn’t his own.  It was a girl’s certificate, she was born the same day, of the same year, two minutes after him.  Tim sat there staring down at the piece of paper before his mind basically exploded and he was a flurry.  He was going through the metal cabinet drawers much faster.  He pulled out everything he could find on “Marinette”, and that’s when he stumbled upon a journal entry inside one of the envelope that held his —oh my gosh, he had a little sister, he wasn’t alone anymore; shut up, he’s not crying— apparent sister’s name on it.
19 July ####
Stupid child.  We didn’t know that this stupid girl was going to disrupt our plans!  We don’t need another heir, especially not a girl.  This might just set back our plans for Tim… unless we get rid of her.  Nobody has to know who she is, not even her if we put her up for adoption.  I’ll have to run it by Janet first, but I may have just found the answer to the problem.
Tim felt disgusted, how could his parents do something like this?!  Tim imagined what it would have been like to live with his apparent twin and thought how much better and warm it could have been.  Tim came to a decision, he was going to find her, he was going to meet her, he had to make sure that she was in a good home and that hi-er, their parents hadn’t just shipped her off to some random family that could be hurting her.  So that’s what he did.  After collecting all the information he could find and stuffing it into one of the manilla folders he ran back to the manor and to his room where his personal laptop sat on his desk.
Marinette always knew she was adopted.  While she had many similarities to Sabine, she knew she couldn’t be her real mom.  She was different from them, and while she had learned so many things from them and she was so happy, she knew that she was missing something.  She had always felt some sort of loss, and it wasn’t their fault, but at the same time it might have been.  So when she saw a boy around her age with dark black hair and eyes so similar to hers she could just feel a connection.  It felt like something had just fallen into place and the world was finally beginning to be complete.  The two stared at each other for what felt like hours but was probably just a few minutes before he approached her.
“Umm..h-hey.  Um,”
He awkwardly cleared his throat before continuing.
“I’m Tim Drake, and I know this is going to sound weird…but I think I’m your twin brother.”
Marinette blinked a few times before a wide smile spread across her lips.
“It’s great to meet you Tim!  I’m Marinette, though I’m sure you already knew that.”
They both chuckled at that before the awkward silence surrounded them once more.
“Sooo….would you like some coffee?”
Marinette asked, noticing the tired posture that her —she had a brother, a twin no less, that’s so cool— brother’s exhausted posture.
“Wait, you're just going to take my word for it?!”
He asked incredulously.  Marinette rolled her eyes at that as she went behind the counter of the bakery and began a brew of her special all-nighter coffee.
“We have the same eyes, hair, and how dare you be a bad influence to me when I haven’t even met you!”
She joked, but he looked confused.
“W-what do you mean?”
“You look like you haven’t slept in a week, and I’ve been there, done that, and I know I’ll do it again.”
Tim didn’t have anything to say to that, because he was the older sibling, and he was a bad influence, even from an ocean away.  How could he fall into such a bad habit and let his sister think it was okay to do it too?!  A large cup of coffee was placed in front of his face breaking him out of his stupor.  He carefully took it and gave her an awkward smile.
“Thank you.”
He said sheepishly.  He slowly took a sip of the hot drink and his eyes widened with wonder and delight.
“Magical coffee goddess, I worship you.  This is the best coffee ever.  I’m so glad we’re related right now!”
Marinette giggled and played along tilting her chin the air in a ‘better-than-you’ sort of way,
“Of course you should worship me.  I am your sister and thus I obviously deserve all of the praise.”
They made eye contact and began laughing again.
“Follow me, mama and papa made some cookies upstairs.”
“Really?!”
Tim said with hope and pure joy.  Marinette could see the loneliness in his eyes, and she understood it.  They both carried a burden, maybe they had more similarities than they would ever truly know.
“So, do tell brother-o-mine, what are your hobbies?”
Marinette asked as she opened the apartment door that led to the main room.  He thought over for a bit as they settled on the barstools in front of the counter where the cookies sat in a pile atop a decorated plate.
“Well, I like photography, I do a lot of tech stuff, I solve cold cases, and solving riddles is fun.”
He said before nibbling shyly on a cookie, like nobody had ever really cared or asked what he liked to do.  Marinette was going to change this, he was family and he should be treated as such, which means she’s going to treat like he’s the most important person.  And considering their twins he is!
“Oh?  Ok then Tim-Tam,”
He made a confused face but didn’t say anything,
“I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive with wind. What am I?”
Tim's eyes widened before they sparkled with a bright happy gleam. He took another bit, a bigger one this time, of the cookie and swallowed before easily replying,
“An echo.”
Marinette nodded her head and held her hand up, he looked at it for a second confusedly before he realized what she was doing.  He quickly high fived her back and her bright smile made him so happy.  Was he doing this right, Damian had never given him a chance to be an older brother, he was even kicked out so he really didn’t know if he was doing anything right.  But she looked happy, and it seemed genuine, so maybe he was?
“Alright, my turn.”
He said, and after a bit of thought said,
“White bird, featherless. Flying out of paradise. Flying over sea and land. Dying in my hand. What is it?”
Marinette had never heard of this one, but she was determined to figure it out.  She took another cookie from the plate and began to eat it as she thought.
“Could you repeat it please?”
He smirked and did.  She would wipe that smirk off his face, she would not surrender!!!  After a few more minutes it hit her an she smiled brightly,
“A snowflake!”
Tim wanted to feel upset, he did, really!  But her smile was so bright and she looked so happy and prideful, he couldn’t help but smile too.  Marinette opened her mouth to ask him another riddle when her Akuma alert went off.  She glared at it before she sighed and stood up.
“I’ll be right back Tim, I just need to grab something in my room, okay?”
Tim hesitated a little but nodded silently and gripped his hands together.  Marinette wanted to scream, because of course he had abandonment issues.  She was going to kill whoever hurt her —she didn’t know who was older, she’d have to ask— brother in such a way.
“Tim, I promise that I will be back, and I’m not trying to get away from you.  I want to get to know you, I just need to take care of this, okay?”
Tim could feel tears stinging at the back of his eyes at her words.  How long had he been waiting for someone to say that to him?  That they weren’t going to run from him, that they would stay, that they actually would come back?
“Okay.”
He whispered not daring to meet her eyes for fear that she would see his weakness.  He could hear her feet on the stairs and the door close and then he waited anxiously for her to return.
It felt like hours that she had been gone, but when he checked his phone again it had been, half an hour.  He bit his lip in anticipation and came to a decision he would knock on her door and ask if she needed help with anything.  If she was working on some project it would be rude of him not to try to help her in some way.  So he carefully made his way up the stairs and knocked on the door.
“Marinette, do you need any help?”
There was no reply and it was silent in there.  It was too silent for someone to not be in there.  And he was a paranoid man, so could you blame him for opening the door, and when she wasn’t there looking around?  When he heard a thump come from the loft bed he quickly looked up and took a defensive stance only to see a lady in ladybug themed spandex and ladybug themed mask, and the suit was disappearing into magical pink sparkles, and his sister was staring at him instead of the ladybug girl, and oh, his sister was the ladybug girl.
“I’m the most terrible, horrible, absolute worst, influence to ever exist.  The worst big brother to ever exist.”
Tim groaned, burying his face in his hands.  Of course she was also a superhero.  When was anyone he called family not one?!  Marinette did not expect or understand his reaction.  How was he such a terrible influence, it’s not like he was a-unless he was.  So he was the older twin, question answered at least.
“What hero are you?”
She asked as she stared down at her brother from her bed.
“Red Robin, in Gotham.”
He groaned, face still covered.
“Well, want to meet the rest of the team?  We were planning to meet for ice cream soon.”
Tim looked at her eyes shining with emotion.
“Just like that?  You’re just going to accept it, except me so easily?”
Marinette hopped down and hugged her brother tightly and felt her heart ache as he practically melted into her touch.
“Of course!  You’re my brother, my family, and I’ll never leave my family behind, ever.”
They had both lost people important in their lives, both been betrayed in ways they weren’t able to talk about quite yet, but one day they would.
______
Tim had begun to zeta to Paris almost every other day to visit Marinette, and sometimes he would stay with her for weeks on end.  Tom and Sabine were such genuine and sweet people and he had never felt so loved then he did in her house or with her and her friends.  Chloe, Luka, Kagami, Adrien, and Juleka were some of the most genuine and protective people he had ever met.  He would often patrol with them, and when Adrien using his bo staff as a sword finally got to him, taught the kid how to use his precious child properly.  With his spare time he would help them track down Hawkmoth and help them narrow down the suspect list.
He had been gone from Gotham for almost a month now and all of them were just chilling in Chloe’s room.  Luka was strumming some soft melodies on his guitar, Juleka, Chloe, and Marinette were talking about designs, and Adrien and Kagami were talking about fencing techniques.  Tim looked up from his laptop, he had been doing WE work from here and attending meetings via video call, and picked up the camera he had brought with him from the table next to him.  He set his laptop aside and stood in a corner of a room getting the perfect angle to capture the serenity of the moment.  He stared down at the picture with a gentle smile and went back to his spot on the couch only for Marinette to lay down across his lap.
He smiled gently at his little sister.  She seemed to understand how touched staved he was, but knew how it was awkward for him to be touched or held for long periods of times.  So, she would often just lay in his lap and let him control the amount of touch that happened, he would often just run his fingers through her hair, and when the roles were reversed she would do the same for him.  He liked being able to fall asleep to her gentle touches.  They may have only officially met about 3 months ago, but it felt like they’d known each other their entire lives even though they were separated.  Suddenly his computer began to fuzz out and…he knew Oracle’s work when he saw it.  He sighed tiredly and leaned his head on the back of the couch as his brothers’ faces popped onto the screen along with Oracle herself.  He had been ignoring their texts and calls all week, he should have seen this coming.
“Tim!  We’ve been trying to get a hold of you for weeks!  We could really use your help right now!”
Tim grumbled tiredly under his breath as Marinette stared at the screen that held the faces of Dick, Damian, and Barbara.
“Tt.  We don’t need the pretender’s help, we’re just fine on our own.  In fact we’re better off without him completely.”
The small boy with green eyes said.  She glared at the screen and she could tell her friends were glaring as well.  Before Tim could do or say anything she snatched the laptop and made sure her face showed through the camera.
“What the-“
“Who are you?”
“Shut. Up.”
Marinette said darkly as she glared at the screen.  Damian went to open his mouth but she beat him to the punch.
“You will never, and I mean never call my brother that again.  And none of you have even noticed where he’s been!  None of you are worried about him?!  All you care about is what he can give you, what he can do for you, right?”
It was silent on the other end, everybody shocked at the words she was saying, specifically the “brother” part.
“I’ve dealt with people like you before.  Always wanting something, always asking, never caring about the person doing it.  You just expect it to be done even if they have other things they need or have to do.  And when it isn’t done you guilt or shame him, don’t you?!”
It was silent and she could tell she was right by the way two of them went pale, the other just crossed his arms and looked away definitely.
Her team was coming up to the camera and they made sure that the people saw their faces.
“Never call here again unless it’s for an apology or it’s the end of the world.  He's ours, and I’m going to make sure he’s protected from people like you.”
Then she shut the laptop.  Tim looked at his little sister and her, no, their friends with shock and utter joy.  He could feel warm tears begin to flow down his face and his family…yea, family were hugging him and reassuring him.  He loved it here, and he was so thankful he found his little sister.  He could share anything with her, and she never judged him, in fact she just up and helped him.  He made sure he did the same for her, and they often spent late nights working together and helping each other.
“Thank you Bean, and everyone.  Thank you.”
“We love you too Tim-Tam.  We'll always be here.  Because family don’t shake hands.”
“Family hugs.”
He finished.  It was a joke as after the first time they met before he left he held out his hand for a handshake, but instead she wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug.  Yea, he loved his family, and he was happy that they were always there for him.
If maybe a part 3 for the Sibling Marinette and Tim idea it could be Tim meeting/bonding with Mari's team. Tim, Chloe and Adrian bond over neglectful parents (Tim offers to end their parents business wise, they just need to ask), spars with Kagami since he can go all out, raves about the dark beauty of Gotham with Juleka (he shows her his photos of the city), and stressed/non-verbal days are spent with Luka and his music. Marinette is ridiculously happy/proud how her team and Tim gets along!
Friends Don't Move On, They Stay Together
Previous
When the team first came into contact with Tim, they were all suspicious. They had a goal to protect their sweet amazing leader who was slowly falling away due to Lila and her lackeys. It was suspicious that some random man with similar attributes and characteristics just came out of nowhere and claimed to be her twin brother. They all knew Marinette was still a bit too trusting, even after all of the crap she went through, and for all they knew he could be a spy for Lila. But as they got to know Tim more and more personally through Marinette, they realized that their assumptions were completely wrong. It was funny really, they should have seen it from their first meeting.
It was ice cream day, Kagami and Adrien were able to sneak away from their parents tight watch and use the disguises Marinette had given them long ago to blend in. Chloe, well she didn’t really care who saw her, was already waiting on the bench scrolling through her phone with Juleka right beside her pointing at something on the phone every so often and murmuring about it. Luka was strumming a soft melody on his guitar while sitting on Chloe’s other side.
The sound of quickly moving footsteps caught their attention, but they didn’t stop what they were doing, even if there was an unfamiliar sounding gait with them.
“Took you long enough, Dupain-Cheng.”
Chloe said, still not looking up from her phone.
“You were only fifteen minutes late this time. Congratulations Marinette.”
Kagami nodded in greeting, but also noticed the boy with her.
“Hey, Marinette!”
Adrien greeted happily,
“Who’s this with you?”
He asked, staring intently at Tim.
“Hey guys, sorry for the wait. I would like you all to meet my twin brother, Tim!”
That had Chloe looking up from her phone.
“Pardon me, but you’re what now?!”
Tim, who was all but hiding behind Marinette, gave a small awkward wave to the small group of his sister’s friends. Chloe stood and practically sauntered over to the two and began to inspect Tim from top to bottom. She refused to let her friend be hurt once more by more lies.
“Chloeee! You’re scaring him!”
Marinette whined, as she brought her obviously uncomfortable brother closer to her side. Chloe just rolled her eyes and hummed.
“Tsurugi, does anything stick out to you?”
Chloe asked, ignoring Marinette’s whining. Kagami hummed as she also studied Tim, but from a distance.
“They have the same eyes.”
Kagami stated calmly, giving Tim a nod of approval. Marinette smiled brightly at that and looked towards Luka. Luka gave a soft smile and began to play a new melody, most likely Tim’s melody.
“He seems like a cool guy, I don’t hear any deceit or malice in his tone. There’s a lot of hurt in his melody, but there’s still hope.”
At her friend’s comments Chloe backed off and nodded,
“Very well. I’ll be watching Tim, and if I see you try to hurt Mari even once, you’ll have to answer to me!”
Tim nodded quickly, gripping tightly onto Marinette’s hand.
“Don’t worry, I would never do anything to hurt Marinette. I want to be a good brother.”
The earnestness in his tone was so strong, and they just knew that Tim was telling the truth. He would fit into their little group perfectly.
________ The door all but slammed open as Adrien rushed to one of Chloe’s plush couches and screamed into the pillow. Kagami, unlike Adrien, walked in with a quiet and calm grace as she sat on a separate couch in a practiced and proper manner. Tim, who had been working on some cold cases in the Paris area looked up groggily.
“What happened?”
Tim asked, highly confused. He had never seen the chipper blonde so upset before, and it was quite frankly scaring him. Adrien slowly lifted his head and right before he was about to speak Chloe came into the room, actually slamming the door as she ran towards her best friend.
“Adrikins! What on Earth happened?”
She yelled as she began to poke and prod Adrien checking if he was hurt in any way. Adrien let his friend do so as he knew that it would help ease her mind when she found no new mark bruises or marks from an Akuma attack or from his extracurricular ideas.
“Father is making me do even more extracurriculars because he says that I’m spending too much time with bad influences. Now it will be even harder to sneak out for Akuma attacks and I’ll have even less time to spend with all of you. Kagami won’t even be able to sneak me out.”
Chloe let out a sympathetic sigh and began to rub her friends back. Tim bit his lip feeling out of place. Rubbing small circles onto the back of his hand he whispered,
“I could help you get out of these activities.”
Adrien looked up at him with hopeful eyes while the other two looked at him in shock and skepticism.
“You can? How?! No, why?”
Adrien immediately asked, excitement and hope evident in his tone.
“Well, I know what it’s like to have controlling neglectful parents. They expect so much from you, they want you to live up to some invisible unattainable standard of perfection. It will never matter though, because they will never be willing to see what you do, because it will never be enough for them. They promise to spend more time with you, but then they have to cancel it because of something “more important”. I-”
Tim cut himself off, not realizing how much just saying these words was affecting him. Taking a breath to stabilize his breathing and to stop any tears from falling he continued,
“You shouldn’t be forced to go through that. I’m really good at hacking, and I could really take over or destroy any business if any of you need it. If someone is bothering you, or if you need anything, I’ll help you. All of you, because none of you deserve to go through this type of pain."
Tim risked a glance back at the three, and was surprised to see sympathy and what appeared to be love and understanding in their eyes. He had expected disdain or disregard, but instead, it looked as if they were listening, like they wanted to listen to him.
Slowly Adrien stood up and made his way towards Tim, broadcasting each of his movements until his arms were wrapped around Tim in a warm and loving embrace.
“Thank you Tim, you can come to us if you need anything as well. I promise, we’ll help you even if Marinette isn’t around, you’re our family too now.”
Silent tears of joy rolled down Tim’s cheeks as he returned the embrace. The warmth only continued to burn in his chest as both Chloe and Kagami joined the hug whispering words of reassurance and acceptance.
When Marinette silently walked back into the room, returning from grabbing snacks from the bakery, she was only a little surprised to see the scene in front of her. Marinette hadn’t smiled this much or this wide in a long time, but seeing her brother and her friends get along so well like this made her glow with pride. Marinette quietly pulled out her phone and took a picture of the group pile before joining in herself and basked in the warmth and love her friends radiated for each other.
“Tim,”
Adrien mumbled.
“Yea?”
“I’ll take you up on that offer. If you can threaten my father into letting me have more free time, I’ll do whatever you want for a whole week.”
Tim smiled mischievously at that.
“Deal.”
Gabriel Agreste would have no idea what hit him by the time Tim was through.
________ Tim really liked spending time with the Couffaine twins. Sometimes it was chaos, but most of the time it was rather peaceful. Luka always had his guitar and would play beautiful and calming melodies. He especially enjoyed Juleka’s company. It turned out that his sister owned her own fashion company—he did not squeal when he found out she was MDC—and that Juleka was her secret model. She was also really into gothic architecture and art, and Tim had never been so happy that he had brought his camera on his visit back to Paris this time. Together they looked at his camera roll looking at the Gotham sky and talking about the different camera angles and how the lighting really changed the scenes that were forever frozen in time.
“You’re really good at this.”
Juleka muttered as she studied one of his favorite photos that wasn’t bat related. It was one of the last photos he had taken before he became Robin. It was on one he took off of one the taller buildings near the Bowery. There was a heavy fog that night that almost covered all of the lights below him, but it made the rushing cars look like a red and yellow version of the northern lights. The lights from the surrounding buildings looked almost like reflections, and above all of it were gargoyles that looked to be protecting the lights from above.
Tim blushed slightly under the praise, while he had been getting better with it due to all of the attention he had been getting from Tom and Sabine, his sister, and all of their other friends, it still felt a bit strange to be praised for his accomplishments than put down.
“Thanks.”
He mumbled back. Juleka simply nodded and began to point out different things she liked about the picture and ask questions about his thoughts on it and why he took it. It honestly felt relieving to talk at his own pace about his old hobby. A hobby that he had never been allowed to fully allow in his life due to either his parents' disgust for it, or how busy he was with the bats. It was calming mindless fun, and apparently something to be praised after all.
“You should ask Marinette if you can take the photos for tomorrow's photoshoot.”
Luka said as he leaned over and looked at some of the photos.
Tim almost jumped at Luka’s voice as he hadn’t heard the boy move closer to them. Tim flushed scarlet at the idea of such a thing and shook his head.
“No way, that wouldn't work out well. I really haven’t done any photography in years so I’d be really rusty at it. Not to mention that she wouldn’t want me of all people to do work for her.”
Tim rushed out almost in a panic as he thought of what his sister might think. It would probably be bad, she would probably laugh at him then kick him out for being so needy and thinking that he could invade her business life like that.
Luka shook his head slowly and let out a slightly amused sigh. They really were siblings, looks like the spiraling was a genetic trait the two shared.
“We both know that that’s not true. Marinette is a sweet, loving, and caring person. She would be elated if you asked, in fact she would probably throw a party welcoming you onto the MDC committee.”
“MDC committee?”
Tim asked confusedly. Juleka smiled at that and nodded,
“Yea, everyone here is on it. Luka does the music, Chloe goes through the legal side, Adrien does the accounting, I do the modeling, and Marinettte is the designer and current photographer. She would be delighted if you did the camera, then she could spend more time making sure the outfit is perfect.”
Tim bit his lip and let the thought swim through his mind. After that Luka didn’t say anything else, just kept playing his guitar. They began to look through photos once again, but the thought of helping his sister never left his mind. It didn’t leave on the walk back to the bakery, not during dinner, and not while he tried to sleep. The next day came and the anxious butterflies eating at his stomach became too much.
“Hey Mari?”
Tim began during breakfast. Marinette turned to look at him, a tired look in her eyes. He should have waited until she was ready, she was obviously way to exhausted.
“Nevermind.”
He said, quickly turning away. Marinette furrowed her brows and shook her head.
“No, what is it Tim?”
Marinette asked gently while scooting closer to her brother. Tim began to fiddle with his spoon, stirring it around in the oatmeal and not looking his sister in the eyes.
“I was talking to Luka and Juleka yesterday.”
He began shyly. Marinette smiled at that and leaned her head on Tim’s shoulder.
“That sounds nice, did you have fun?”
He nodded silently, leaning his head slightly atop Mari’s.
“I showed them some of my photographs from Gotham, and they said that I…”
He mumbled the last part so it was inaudible and Marinette hummed,
“Could you please repeat the last part Tim? I didn’t catch it, sorry.”
Tim shook his head slightly and took in a deep breath.
“They said that I should ask you if I could take today's photoshoot photos?”
Marinette jumped up at that, causing the oatmeal from bowels to spill and heads to hit.
“Owwwww. I’m sorry Tim-Tam. That was my bad.”
Tim shook his head rubbing the side of his head.
“No it’s my fault, I shouldn’t have asked. It was stu-”
“NO! I think it’s a wonderful idea.”
Marinette interrupted. She refused to let her brother believe that his opinion was unimportant.
“If you want to be our photographer, that would be the most amazing thing ever!”
“R-really?”
Marinette nodded quickly, so quickly Tim wasn’t sure if she had gotten whiplash or not. Tim smiled up at his sister and slowly stood up.
“Well, let's clean up breakfast and then we can head out.”
Marinette gave an embarrassed smile and scratched the back of her head with a small soft nod.
“Yea, that would be good.”
The photos were some of the best she had ever gotten for her sight. Tim was now an important member of the MDC committee, also known as the MDCC.
________ It was a quiet day, Tim just didn’t feel like talking. He missed Cass the most on those days, because she understood him perfectly, especially on these days. Sometimes he would call her and they would sign through the screen. He enjoyed the way she talked about her work in Hong Kong, she seemed so happy. She had commented that he seemed better as well. She was the only person he had told about his sister and his new friends. She said that she would come and visit them soon, which made him happy. One of the calls they had was during one of their group sit-ins, so they had all been able to meet already, but it would be different meeting them in person. Today he would be sparring with Kagami, Adrien, and Luka would be there as the ref. The others would come to train as well, but later.
“You’re nonverbal today?”
Kagami signed as she watched how Adrien and Tim were interacting while they got ready. If it was a verbal day then Tim would be adding his own opinions to whatever Adrien was going on about. Tim nodded and gave a small smile. He enjoyed training with Kagami and Adrien, he could full out with them and they were still able to keep up. It was refreshing to say the least.
Kagami and Tim took their stances on the mat as they lowered their fencing masks. Adrien stood in between them grinning widely.
“Ready? Allez!”
Both Tim and Kagami were at it, neither able to land a hit on the other. It was fun and in a way, it felt right . That was until a familiar voice shouted out,
“You’re doing great Timmy!”
Due to the shock and horror that was coursing through his veins Tim misstepped and ended up tripping and falling onto his but, where Kagami landed the finishing blow to his chest.
“Tt. Still as bad as ever, Drake.”
Tim felt his cheeks burn in humiliation, he was grateful that he was still wearing his helmet.
“You have no business here, leave.”
Kagami stated fiercely as she pointed her rapier at both the man and small child. She recognized them both from the video call and she would not stand for these people to hurt her brother in all but blood.
“Wow, it’s okay. We’re just here to talk, nothing else.”
The man said, raising his hands up in surrender. Kagami slid her mask up showing the fierceness and anger in her glare.
“You are unwelcome here. If you do not leave I will make you.”
The small runt rolled his eyes and huffed as if they were inconveniencing him .
“Tt. You truly think that you will be able to defeat us?”
“Yes, but I will not be the one to remove you.”
“Tt. Then who would?”
The brat asked, placing a hand on his hip and raising his head up as if he were better than them. There were a set of soft footsteps behind them and the sound of cracking knuckles.
“That would be me.”
Both the man and small boy turned to see the small blue eyed girl. There was a burning fire inside of her eyes, that showed that she would not be merciful. She glanced around the two and saw Luka and Adrien signing with Tim and helping him get away from the chaos that was about to ensue. When she was sure that her brother was safe she dropped her bag onto the floor and cracked her knuckles.
“If you do not leave now, I can assure you that you will only feel pain and regret for daring to not listen to me.”
The older man sighed and rubbed her temple, and the boy made another ‘tt’ noise that was really starting to piss her off.
“Look kid, I know that you’re related, but I’ve known him longer, okay? I really need to talk to him, and I need you to understand that it’s what’s best for him.”
See here’s the thing. Marinette is not afraid to fight dirty, in fact she is not afraid to fight at all when somebody dares to not only hurt her family, but treat her like she’s stupid so they can gaslight said family and herself. So, no she did not feel bad as the man keeled over in pain after her foot kicked him where the sun don’t shine. She had warned them, given them so many chances, but they didn’t listen. So here they were.
She turned her gaze to the boy, the righteous anger burning brightly in her blue eyes. The boy simply got into a fighting stance. She knew who this boy was, what he could do, Tim had told her. But she was ready, she had fought and survived a lot worse than an arrogant little urchin.
The battle was over before it even began. Damian had no idea what hit him, one moment he’s in a fighting stance and about to hit the stupid girl, the next thing he knows is that there is string wrapped around his ankles and he was pulled off balance. He didn’t even have time to break it before it was wrapped tightly around his hands and he was hog tied to the ground. The girl yawned as she pulled at said string and stretched lazily like what she had done was nothing. It was infuriating and made him struggle harder against the rope. But it just kept getting tighter and tighter until he was completely unable to move. He looked over at his older brother and saw him in the same predicament, except with zip ties.
“I warned you. I told you to stay away until he was ready. If you had just listened then neither of you would be here like this.”
The sound of a camera going off filled the heavy silence. Damian grit his teeth and growled in anger.
“So you better listen to me right now. Tim does. Not. Want. To. See. You. Until he asks to talk to you, you will stay out of his life. If you do not leave France as quickly as possible, I will have no trouble kicking you out myself.”
Marinette said in a deadly calm voice that covered her unending rage.
“And what makes you so sure that you’ll be able to do that?! Do you know who we are?!”
Damian growled as he looked up at the girl from his position on the floor. At this Marinette slowly bent down so they were almost eye level. The look in her eyes sent a shiver running down his spine.
“I know exactly who you are. And guess what.”
She whispered and waited for his response.
“What?”
He growled. Marinette moved close to his ear and whispered,
“I don’t care.”
Her voice sent a chill through his body. He would never admit that he felt a small bit of fear. The next thing he knew his limbs were free and he was able to stand back up onto his feet. The girl simply picked up her bag, back facing them showing them that she was not afraid. She was mocking them! Damian was about to pounce, but Dick’s arm held him back, and silently he pulled Damian away from the harlot. How dare she embarrass the blood son of the bat like that?! Unfortunately Grayson refused to listen to him and instead of going back to fight the horrid girl, they went back to the hotel instead. He would get back at that tramp, and he would be victorious!
________ When Marinette had finished with the two brothers she and Kagami went straight to find Tim. She also thanked Kagami for helping her by throwing her the string when they were slightly distracted. When they found Tim he was sitting on one of the benches and listening to Luka play his music, sometimes signing something to him or Adrien. It was a very domestic scene, that was until Chloe came bursting through.
“Timothy Jackson Drake! Stand up so I can check you over, Adrien told me what happened.”
Tim quickly stood and let Chloe poke and prod to make sure he was alright like the worried mother hen she was. Marinette stood next to Kagami with the biggest, most proud smile she had ever worn. At some point in time Juleka had also joined the group, watching and standing right next to Marinette. When everything had settled down Marinette ran up to her big brother and gave him the biggest hug.
“Don’t worry Tim-Tam. Everything will be okay. They won’t bother you again. I love you.”
Tim quickly hugged her back and drew a small ‘thank you’ on her back. Marinette nuzzled her head against his chest and smiled wider when the others joined the hug as well. She was so proud of her brother and friends. Life was so much better with all of them, and she could see how much better Tim had made the group. Because Tim Adrien and Kagami were allowed out more, Juleka was more talkative, Chloe was a bit nicer and more confident in herself, Luka was able to better see different patterns during battles when he used Second Chance, and Marinette was more happy than she had ever been. In suit they were all so close, and because of Tim they were able to narrow down the list of suspects, and unfortunately for Adrien, his father is near the top of it. Tim was the best thing that ever could have happened to her and her team, and Marinette could never be more proud of everyone in it, including herself.
“Little brother?”
A gentle voice called out from somewhere outside of their group hug. Tim immediately perked up and signed ‘Cass!’ Slowly everyone let go to see a pale woman with short dark black hair and knowledgeable brown eyes. Tim immediately ran towards her and was quickly received into a strong hug from the woman. Cassandra Cain, the only trustworthy bat. She would make a great addition to their team.
SECRET SANTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This story is for @silverwhiteraven ! I hope you had a merry Christmas and I hope that this is one of your best years!
One of my friends, @cyber-geist helped me write this! It’s 9 chapters, and I really hope you like it!!!!! Now presenting:
He Stole My Heart So I Stole His
Prompt/based on:
The only Felix/Marinette interaction I want is them stealing the same object from each other for the better part of a day.
Consider the following: Felix and Marinette bump into each other in a hallway. Marinette holds up Felix's phone that she just stole, and unlocks it because he never thought it would be stolen. Felix, meanwhile, unlocks Mari's phone by correctly guessing the password is ADRN.
They both get the dirt they were looking for, and go to send it to their own phones and simultaneously receive each other's messages. They turn, realizing what happened.
Wordlessly, they delete the dirt from each other's phones, remove themselves from contacts, and exchange their phones back. They hate each other's guts, but also have a strange sort of respect for each other. Honor among thieves, if you will.
Okay but an addition, if you will....
Felix and Marinette keep stealing from each other. They’re sure that they can outwit the other next time, so they just keep trying. (They both steal at the same time. It’s an impulse. If they’re within five feet of each other, at least two objects have been stolen within the first minute). Nobody truly understands how it’s happening. One moment, everything is fine. The next, Marinette is wearing Felix’s blazer, and he got her shoe. Nobody blinked. They haven’t ruled the idea of magic out of the explanation list.  Eventually, their rivalry turns into some odd game of tag. One person steals an item, the other has to. And then they start...leaving items on their person. Like little gifts. A chocolate here, a flower there.  And the final object? A note that says, “You stole my heart, can I take yours in return?”  And suddenly Miss Bustier’s class is screwed, because the two thieves are now one kleptomaniac couple who want everything.
Chapter 1: An Unexpected Encounter:
Felix slid by Marinette and as he did so his foot slipped slightly causing him to accidentally bump into the irritating girl. They shared glares and then both continued on to their respective predestined locations. Neither noticed the smirk on the other's face as they walked in separate directions. Once Felix had rounded the corner he pulled his hand from his jacket pocket and tossed the small black and pink rectangle into the air. He walked to the library and sat in the back at a secluded table and after a few attempts rolled his eyes when the phone before him opened on attempt six, ADRN. Really, this girl was just too predictable.
He began to scroll through the phone till he found what he was looking for. He smirked at the picture of his brother sprawled spread eagle on the grass drooling, his hand curled around a ladybug action figure. The picture had been taken at the park when they had been on a school field trip, by Adrien’s friend Nino. All copies had been deleted immediately upon his waking up, that is except for the one Nino had sent to Marinette. Felix chuckled quietly to himself and sent the image to his phone, at that exact moment a message appeared on the screen from his own phone. Felix stared at it for a moment, then reached into his pocket. It was empty. He blinked, confused before tapping the message. It contained a picture of him and Adrien genuinely and happily hugging the other. He blinked again when he heard a startled squeak from a few bookshelves over. He leaned out from behind the bookshelf and met eyes with Marinette who had just looked up from his phone. They stared at each other around the bookshelves for a moment before both looked back down and deleted the messages they had just sent. Felix stood stiffly and crossed to Marinette. Wordlessly he held out her phone, she grabbed it while simultaneously passing him his own. As he turned to go he couldn’t help a parting jab over his shoulder.
“You really need a better password. It was ridiculous how easily I was able to access your personal files.”
Marinette smirked slightly and raised an eyebrow.
“At least I had a password Mr. ‘Everyone’s too scared of me to dare steal from me’ Agreste.”
They stared at each other for a long moment before, they both nodded slightly to the other and went their separate ways. As the day progressed Felix couldn’t help but think about how on earth she’d managed to get his phone off of him without him noticing. After going home with Adrien and realizing he still didn’t have an answer, Felix huffed. No matter, he had just been off his game. It was fine. He would steal something else from the brat tomorrow, just to prove he still could. That decided, he rolled over and went back to sleep.
*****************************
Marinette headed home after school grumbling to herself. Since when was Felix such an experienced master of the sleight of hand? Curse him. Now she’d have to find another way to get that picture of him and Adrien. She scrambled up the ladder and into her room. After completing her homework she began to brainstorm different ways to get the photo again. Yet she couldn’t seem to focus on it. She kept getting frustrated whenever she thought of Felix and how he stole her phone. How had he done that? It didn’t make any sense, her senses from her fighting as Ladybug and training with her family should have warned her what he was up to, yet there had been nothing. Nothing at all. She sighed she must have been too focused on getting his phone to notice, which was bad, she needed to up her game. After dinner as she was getting ready for patrol she set a notification for herself to practice her spatial awareness later. With that done she swung out into the night. Patrol was dull, it was Rena’s turn to be on patrol and patrol was largely uneventful. At the end of the night after a quick treat at a local shop the two parted ways and headed to their respective homes. After finally collapsing into her bed, Marinette decided something. She was going to nick something off Felix tomorrow if only for her peace of mind. With that decided she snuggled into her bed and fell into a deep restful sleep.
Would it be okay if we get a part 2 for "Siblings don't shake hands" (also as I ask this its about to hit 500 notes so congrats on that!) Maybe snippets of Tom and Sabine meeting Tim, maybe getting hints of how family starved he is when he looks like a kid at Christmas whenever Sabine coo's over him while cupping his face gently and he leans into it or when Tom calls him son and promises to teach him how to make family recipes and makes time to hang out with him when he visits while Mari smiles.
Family Doesn’t Run Away, Family Cuddles
Previous
When Marinette first introduced them to her twin brother they took one look at his face: nervous, shy, uneasy, and absolutely adorable.  They adopted him immediately, he looked like he needed all the love he could get.  Sabine immediately wrapped him up tightly in her arms.
“It’s nice to meet you Tim!”
Tim tensed up for a few moments before almost immediately melting into her hold.  His cheeks were a bright red, but he seemed happy with a small smile displayed on his face.
“He’s a handsome young man, and the two of you look almost exactly alike.  Our daughter is beautiful after all.”
“Papaaa.”
Marinette whined as he ruffled her hair.  Tim was blushing completely at that point.  It was a genuine compliment, and Tim didn’t get a lot of those, most of the time when he got a compliment it was a manipulation tactic or because someone needed something from him.  But these people had nothing to gain (to their knowledge at least) from being nice to him.
When Sabine pulled back from the hug she cooed softly at his embarrassed face, which made him blush even more (if that was possible).  Marinette walked towards both of them and wrapped her arm around her brother’s shoulders.  He immediately relaxed at Marinette’s touch and seemed almost content.  Tom and Sabine loved this child, and they would make sure that he knew they did.
________
Tim became a constant in the busy little apartment, and no words could describe how thrilled that made them.  Sometimes when he came over and Marinette was at school, he would just relax and spend time with them.  Sabine nearly cried the first time he came over to ask to just spend time with just them.  She had brought him into another bone crushing hug, with Tom joining this one.
“We’d be glad to spend time with you son!”
Tom cheered.  The dark red blush was back, and Tim’s breath hitched slightly when Tom had said ‘son’.  They stayed like that for a little while until Tim began to pull away, and not wanting to crowd him too much they let him.
“Would you like to help us in the bakery, Son?”
The blush still graced his cheeks and he looked down at the ground.
“I don’t know how to cook.  Last time I tried I nearly burned down the kitchen.”
He said, sounding so small, scared, and self deprecating.  And that simply would not do.  Tom’s and Sabine’s babies were not allowed to sound like that!
“That’s alright, Son!  I’ll let you in on a little secret.”
Tim perked up slightly at that.  Tom motioned for him to come closer, and when he did he whispered into his ear,
“When Marinette was 6 she was trying to make Sabine’s birthday cake without anyone knowing.  When we came back into the apartment there was flour everywhere and the oven was on fire.”
Tim laughed as he imagined his little sister in such a predicament.  She always seemed so put together that it was almost hard to believe.  But she was so scatterbrained and clumsy that he could also definitely see it.  Tom and Sabine smiled at their son, proud that they were able to make him laugh and feel more comfortable.
“We don’t have to bake right now, you can help Sabine at the till if that makes you feel more comfortable.”
Tim nodded, still giggling every so often.  He would never get that image out of his mind.
________
Months had passed and Tom and Sabine were so proud of their son and daughter.  They had noticed how Marinette’s spirit had begun to slowly dwindle.  Something sucking the life out of her.  But when she had met Tim, it was like someone had flipped a switch.  She was smiling more often again.  She was inspired to create.  And best of all, she seemed almost at peace.
Even though they had only known Tim for a few months, they could also see the changes in him.  When they first met him he was so quiet and shy.  He was resigned to being in the background and polite.  Now though, he was more carefree.  He was very witty and sassy and spoke his mind knowing that he wouldn’t be shot down or scolded.  It appeared that both of their children had heavy weights on their shoulders, but the more time they spent together, the lighter the load got for both of them.  They were so proud of the two and the progress they had made in such a short time.
One day Tim came in running through the door.  Not unusual per say, but the way his eyes darted around as he dove behind the couch and completely covered himself with a blanket was disconcerting.  Then Marinette ran into the room, also running but completely covered in flour.
“Where is he?!  The jerk!  Papa and I tried to teach him how to make cinnamon rolls, and when I told him to put the flour in the mixer he deliberately poured it on me!”
“Marinette, don’t hurt your brother, you know you're guilty of starting flour fights too!”
Tom called from downstairs.
“Yea, but I stayed until the end!  The coward ran as soon as he did the dirty deed!”
Both Tom and Sabine laughed at that.  It seemed Tim was having a hard time containing his giggles as well.
“I’m sorry dear, but I think he’s already gone.”
Sabine said while pointing towards the coach.  A chaotic gleam shined in her daughters eyes as she growled and stomped downstairs.  Tim stayed hidden for a bit longer before sitting up removing the blanket from his face.
“Thanks Sabine.”
Tim said as he let out a sigh of relief.
“Dont thank me yet.”
She replied simply as she took a sip of her tea.  Tim looked confused until he saw Marinette charging him with a small bag of flour and realization dawned too late.  His face became one of sorrow and betrayal as the white powder was harshly chucked all over his face with a triumphant Marinette standing over him.
“Ha!  Serves you right!”
“How could you betray me Mom?”
Silence took over the room, and when the shock was over Sabine began to tear up with tears of joy.  Tim’s face was one of horror though as he quickly wiped away the flour from his eyes as he began,
“I’m so sorry Sabine!  I-I didn’t meant to…I-I mean I did, b-but-“
“Sweetheart, it’s okay.  I’m honored that you think of me like that.”
Sabine said gently as she made her way to Tim and took his hands into her own after he was able to open his eyes.  She gave him a soft smile and tried to show as much affection as she could through her eyes alone.  Tim seemed to slowly relax from his tense and alert posture and turned to Marinette who was smiling with the biggest smile he had ever seen on her, and that was saying something.  He gave a soft smile before turning back to Sabine, nervous and bashful.  Quietly he asked,
“Are sure it’s okay?”
Sabine squeezed his hands tighter in her own and nodded while saying.
“Absolutely.  I would love it if you did.”
“Okay…Mom.”
Sabine beamed at her son and cooed softly as she kissed his flour covered hair.  Marinette lost all of her patients and rushed them, pulling them both into a hug.  Sabine happily returned it and a few moments later large footsteps followed and Tom brought all of them into his arms.
“You can’t have a tender family moment without me.”
Tom said jovially. Tim smiled up at him and replied,
“You’re right dad, we can’t.”
Tom gasped and hugged them tighter, raising all of them off of the ground.
“This is one of the best days of my life!”
The family happily stayed that way for a few more minutes until Tom set them down.
“Alright, we have cinnamon rolls to finish you two.”
He announced.  Tim and Marinette glanced at each other with wide smiles as they both made their way back downstairs to the bakery to finish up their dessert.
________
Tom and Sabine stared skeptically at the two men and the child at the counter.
“See, we’ve noticed our brother’s been missing, and when we followed his credit trail we found him making frequent stops to Paris.  We just wanted to see what he was up to.”
One of the men said.  He was very bright and cheerful and seemed to be speaking the truth, but Tom and Sabine had a bad feeling about them.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t really say anything.  There are so many people that come in and out of the bakery it’s hard to keep track of everyone.”
Sabine replied with a small smile.  Tim was currently upstairs sleeping, goodnes he needed it.  Hopefully they would be able to get these people to leave before their son came down when he woke up.
“Well, if you see him please let us know.”
The oldest man said as he passed them a card with a phone number on it.  Tom took it from the counter and nodded.
“Of course.  Have a great rest of your day.”
All of them turned to leave, and right as they were about to open the door Tim walked in with a yawn.  Sabine let out a muttered curse in Mandarin.
“Hey Mom, Dad.  Do you need me to do anything?”
All of the men froze and turned back.  Tim looked up and froze upon seeing all of them and pailed, which was hard to do considering how pale he was.
“Sh*.”
Tim said as he turned back to the door and ran back up the stairs and toward the apartment. The one with a blue skin tight t-shirt began to run towards the door as well , but Tom blocked his way.
“Hey, that’s my brother!  You’ve got to let me through.”
“If he wanted to see you he wouldn’t have ran.  Please leave, he’ll talk to you if he wants to.”
“Tt.  I told you it was a waste of time.  We don’t need Drake anyways, he’s just a hindrance.”
That statement, that sentence uttered by the tiny brat caused a dragon’s fire to burn in Sabine’s chest.
“Damian-“
The oldest man, probably the boy's father, started, but he couldn’t get anything else out as Sabine let loose her anger.
“How dare you!  Tim is the best son I could have ever asked for.  He is not, and will never be a hindrance!  He is so smart, funny, strong, lovable, and just the most amazing boy out there!  If you dare to insult my child again, you will feel my wrath, you snot nosed little brat!”
Sabine was gasping for air by the end of her rant, her anger still burning in her chest.  Everyone was staring at her in silent shock.  No one insulted or hurt her babies and got away with it.  You can ask the school board, afterall, there’s a reason there are new teachers and a new principal at Marinett’s school.
Durning the silence the door opened causing the bell to ring and disrupting the tense silence.
“Mama, Pappa, I’m home!”
Marinette called as she walked past the men.  When she saw her parents' upset faces she turned to see who the men were and was shocked before she also glared at them, recognizing two of them from the video call.
“Why are you here?”
She asked accusingly before horror took over her face and she whispered under her breath,
“Tim-Tam.”
She glanced back panickedly at her parents.  Their faces softened and Sabine quickly answered her daughter's silent question.
“He’s upstairs.  Nothing bad happened.”
Marinette nodded as she rushed to the front and told told her parents,
“They’re manipulative a*holes that forgot about Timmy until they needed to use him.  Don’t let them up.”
Tom and Sabine nodded and let their daughter run upstairs to comfort her brother.
“That’s not true!”
The blue shirt man pleaded and almost panickedly,
“He’s our adopted brother, we care about him!  That’s why we’re here.”
“Well, he’s been here for months and I haven’t heard anything about you.  Anytime he gets close to saying something he gets a look in his eye that shows pain, hurt, and betrayal.  We’ve seen the same look on our daughter when others were hurting and manipulating her as well.  We will not stand for that happening again.  If he wants to see you, he will, until then leave or we’ll call the authorities.”
Tom commanded powerfully as he pointed to the door.  There was a dark look that passed the men’s eyes that made Sabine shift into a fighting stance.  After a tense moment the man sighed and began to turn and leave.  Tom and Sabine stayed on guard until all of them were out the door.  Tom nodded and Sabine ran to the back and up the stairs until she made it to the apartment.  There was no one in the front room, but there was a muffled noise coming from Marinette’s room.  Quietly she made her way upstairs and softly opened the trap door.  The sight that greeted her broke her heart.
Marinette and Tim were on the chaise with Tim crying softly atop Marinette’s lap as she ran her fingers soothingly through his hair.  Marinette tensed and looked up, only to relax again when she saw her mother’s face.  Sabine slowly came closer and kneeled down in front of them. She placed a gentle kiss to the crown of both of her children’s heads.
“It’s okay my children.  I promise that you’re safe.  I won’t let anything happen to you.  You won’t have to see them unless you want to, Dear.  I promise.”
She whispered as she moved some stray hair out of Tim's face.  He sniffled softly, but leaned into the touch.  Sabine smiled and left her hand there and left another kiss against his forehead.  Tim sighed in relief, obviously not in the mood to use words, but that was okay.  It wasn’t unusual either, sometimes Tim just preferred to speak through actions instead of his voice.  They always let him. They knew that it was something that comforted him when everything felt too much for him, so they would never tell him not to.
They stayed in silence like that for a long moment, even when Tom came in it was a comfortable silence.  Eventually Tim fell back asleep, with Marinette following after him.  Tom and Sabine shared a look with each other and soon smiled at the other.  This new obstacle that these people created may be difficult, but they would protect their children no matter what.  They loved both of them so deeply, and they refused to let them suffer.
Chapter 9: A Reveal and Pure Chaos:
Now considering the fact that the two had finally acknowledged their love for each other it shouldn’t have surprised the rest of the class that the amount of ‘thievery’ would increase. Still with the swapping of various clothing items, and various everyday objects it seemed that no one including Felix and Marinette had anticipated what would happen when their most important objects had gone missing. More specifically when Marinette had snagged Plagg’s Miraculous. Felix felt like an idiot. He had forgotten to take the miraculous off last night and give it back to Adrien for the day shift, and now he was paying for that mistake. Usually when they stole things from each other at the end of the day they just returned them to each other the next day or inevitably kept the things they liked. But while he trusted Marinette to be responsible with his miraculous, she was Multi Mouse after all. Still he wasn’t thrilled about A. the idea of giving up his and his brothers secret identity, and B. the inevitable things that Plagg was bound to tell her about him. The very thought of B. sent shivers down his spine and he shuddered violently.
So here he was pounding down the street toward the bakery where Marinette lived in a desperate attempt to stop the inevitable disaster that Plaggs words would cause. He slowed just before the bakery brushing a hand across his blazer and through his hair and plastering a smile on his face before entering the bakery. He waved politely at Marinette's parents and asked if it was ok for him to go up and see Mari. He’d only done this a few times since they started dating in the last month, but they already loved him and waved him right on upstairs.
Now Felix had expected many things when he burst through Marinette's bedroom door, but a red faced Marinette with her face buried in her hands, while a small red and black kwamii beat the heck out of Plagg both verbally and physically, was absolutely nowhere one his list. He stood there in shock for a good minute before slowly clearing his throat.
Marinette’s head shot up and the two kwamiis turned toward him all of them adopting fighting stances. Felix pinched the bridge of his nose.
“So your Ladybug?’
Marinette nodded mutely, and Felix sighed again staring disbelievingly at the ceiling.
“How on earth were we both so dense as to miss this?”
A smile began to play on her lips, Marinette shrugged.
“I mean you stalked my brother for years and me by extension, how on earth did you not see the pattern, and how on earth did I not notice that the two kindest, and bravest people in my life were the same person?!”
Small smile transforming into a grin Marinette lunged at him and he caught her wrapping his arms gently but firmly around her waist and back as he tucked her head beneath his chin.
“I don’t know we really must be hopeless.”
Felix laughed and kissed her nose.
“Truly impossible.”
There was a blissful moment of silence then a gagging noise filled the room, and Marinette turned bright red turning to the laptop on her desk. A face similar to Marinette’s own, eerily similar in fact but with darker skin peered through the screen on vid call a single judging eyebrow raised over two radioactive green eyes.
“Really أخت ('ukht) truly I had anticipated this sort of behavior from Grayson. The amount of physical affection occurring right now is frankly appalling.”
Marinette inhaled deeply and buried her face in Felix’s chest letting out a low gutteral groan that sounded frankly inhuman.
“Damiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!  I just wanted a nice moment with my boyfriend!”
The boy, Damian apparently sent her a look that said how clearly unimpressed he was with her.
“From the only warrior I respected besides Cass, Mother, Father, and Alfred, you have managed to fall to a level of disgrace lower than Grayson. Congratulations sister you have made the achievement known as ‘PDA orineated overzealous girlfriend’ I am truly disappointed.”
Marinette whirled around and pointed a finger at the computer screen and opened her mouth to argue but then paused as she thought about it.
“I concede your point.”
Damien smiled smugly for a brief annoyingly long moment before Marinette smiled sharply.
“However A. You should know I have the skills to regain that respect, and B. you're one to talk ‘Mr.-snuggles-with-his-girlfriend-every-time-she-so-much-as-breathes-in-your-presence’.”
Damien flushed scarlet,
“I DO NOT!”
Marinette nodded and hummed, tapping a thoughtful finger to her chin.
“Hmmmm then perhaps I should call her and tell her just how much you truly despise physical affection, just to make you more comfortable of course.”
With an incomprehensible demonic sounding squawk of outrage Damian lunged toward the screen screaming protests and profanities while Marinette laughed in amusement. Damian hit the screen and there was a brief moment of spinning and crashing sounds as he disappeared from view, and then…
“DAMIAN I SWEAR IF YOU BROKE DICK’S COMPUTER THAT I JUST FIXED I WILL KILL YOU AND NO WILL EVER FIND YOUR BODY AND YOUR PETS WILL ALL BE DONATED TO THE NEAREST MEAT SHOP!!!!!”
A sound of unholy rage screeched from the other side as the small demonic child known as Damian launched himself at whoever had spoken there was the sound of a cut off scream and then the screen went dark as a sword appeared on screen. No doubt the blade was the reason for the sudden cut off connection. Felix stared at it for a moment before turning toward Marinette.
“I take it that's the “Demon Spawn” your brothers mentioned in our…visit over the phone last time.”
Marinette blinked innocently at him.
“Why, whatever do you mean? Damian a Demon? Never. He’s practically a little angel. Whatever gave you the impression as to otherwise?”
Felix raised a single eyebrow in imitation of the green eyed little monster.
“I don’t know, perhaps it was the slightly to spiky hair. I never did like people with spiky hair.”
Marinette nodded pensively.
“True, that is a very valid point.”
Then the two promptly burst into laughter, and sat down. Somehow despite the massive reveal that had just occurred nothing felt different and everything felt right with the world. That should have been Felix’s first warning sign of the doom to come…
******************
Tikki and Felix stood on Marinette's balcony during his free period. Usually he used this time to complete more paperwork or read up on new business information, but he felt that for today this would be far more profitable.  He felt now that he was dating Marinette, it was alright and gave him the perfect opportunity to get back at her brothers for hacking his phone.  Tikki, who was in the room with him, agreed with his plan and even encouraged it.  He had also brought the idea up to Marinette, she laughed and said that it was a horrible idea, but said that she didn’t care and he would (hopefully) be fine if he did.
He and Tikki shared a grin and he slipped into Marinette's room. He set her bag on her bed and snagged a small earpiece Tikki told him connected to the boys who had hacked his phone. She warned him that they hadn’t had Tim with them at the time and that he may want to hide from electronics for a few days after this as Tim was a force to be reckoned with, but otherwise this plan was relatively harmless.  Pocketing the earpiece, Felix slid down the drain pipe connected to Marinette's balcony and headed to the park. He sat on a bench and pulled out the earpiece. Then with a smirk, he turned it on. Second’s later a voice came over the line.
“Yo, Pixie Pop what's up?”
Felix chuckled, then he cleared his throat and began to speak in thickly accented english.
“Hello this is the boy you hacked a few months ago, I returned the favor and have managed to find a way to contact you as well. I know who you really are and if you don’t leave me alone, I will send a very nasty surprise to your location, and prank Marinette for the foreseeable future.”
There were a few choice curses and then another voice could be heard in the background.
“Tracking the device now.”
The voice was cool and calm, and for some reason sent shivers down Felix’s spine. That must be Tim, and from what Tikki had said he did NOT want to mess with this man. Quickly setting down the headpiece Felix booked it back to school and hid in the library. Hopefully nothing would go tooooooo wrong. Oh how wrong he was.
Felix needed help while the video call that had appeared on the library computer screen had shown him Jason, Damien, and Dick armed with various weapons and in full Bat regalia, which what the heck? The Bats? Really? Of all the people for Mari to be related to! He’d thought he knew who they were, he had been oh so very wrong, and perhaps may have put himself in more danger then he had originally anticipated. He’d thought they were a minor mafia family or something, not some of  the literal most dangerous humans on the entire planet!
Regardless, while those three had shown up on screen, Tim had not, and he was easily the biggest threat to him at the moment. While the others had somehow teleported to Paris and begun to pursue him, he’d largely been able to evade them. Tim, yea not so much. Anything with any form of wireless connection was tracking him and either attacking or pursuing him, the city had come to life and it was highly intelligent. Strangely enough and thankfully for him Tim seemed to want to mess with him personally and hadn’t led the other bats to him just yet. He honestly just seemed to be toying with Felix which while highly irritating also made him nervous. He was currently cornered and a news screen in the shop near him lit-up the Rook symbol blazing to life. There was a quiet moment as he stared the screen down, heart in his throat before a voice cleared its throat. It was heavily modulated and cold. The voice was inhumanly even. Oh dang it all.
Felix wanted to just go hide underground for a few centuries of course Tim would be Rook!  It made sense honestly after his conversation with the man and then later with the Wayne family he should have made the connection.  But oh no, the thought had never crossed his mind and now he was currently face to face, or at least electronic to face with someone that everyone who knew of him agreed was easily one of the most dangerous people in the world. He’d heard about him from Plagg and that was about it the guy had gone seriously far underground after his period as Red Robin everyone thought he’d retired, or died, but after asking Plagg about Rook after their last conversation the Kwamii had revealed that Rook was actually a remarkably suitable candidate for multiple miraculi and that he was in fact a highly skilled and dangerous individual, and it seemed Felix had managed to tick him off. Finally the tense silence was broken by Tim-no Rook’s voice.
“Based on the expression on your face I’m guessing that when you said ‘I know who you are’ this was not in fact what you were referring to, and that now because of my siblings rushing into action you actually do know our identities and are suitably panicked.”
Felix nodded mutely, and Rook sighed tiredly,
“I have not had nearly enough coffee for this.”
He groaned loudly, thumping his head against what sounded like a hard desk.
“I am currently running on two hours of sleep in the past four days and would really like to not deal with this right now.  But since the rest of my family with a few exceptions is both incompetent and wildly dangerous to anyone they are unreasonably mad at it seems I am going to have to.”
There was an inhuman groaning sound that reminded Felix of Marinette's reaction to her brother a few days ago, and then Rook spoke again and despite the voice modulator he sounded so thoroughly done and dead that Felix felt a little bit guilty and sorry for the man. He hadn’t meant to cause this much trouble for him.
“Alright follow the drone I’m sending your way I’ll keep you safe from the rest of my family while I talk them down from their frankly annoying and completely unfounded murderous frenzy.”
There was a bunch of grumbling on the other end and as Felix followed the drone around he couldn’t help but feel like he was glad that Rook was on his side. Explosions sounded on the other side of the city as well as what sounded like several high pitched screams. Felix shuddered. Oh he was so VERY glad.
Felix: …… Felix: Adrien my sweet naive brother, how on earth did you not know she’s Ladybug? Adrien: No she’s Multi Mouse.  Did you hit your head or something? Felix: *breathes deeply* Adrien that was a fake out on her part to trick Hawkmoth.  The actual Multi Mouse is her sister, Cassandra, and only sometimes. Adrien: ….. Adrien: WAIT YOUR MARRYING THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!!!! HOW COULD YOU?!  THE ABSOLUTE BETRAYAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Felix: Adrien do you even love Marinette? Adrien: …… Adrien: She’s just a frie- *dejectedly* Oh dang it all that's why you got her and I didn’t, isn’t it? Felix: You're welcome.  Your idiocy has officially faded just enough for you to finally see the error of your ways. Adrien: ….. Adrien: One of these nights I will kill you in your sleep and no one will ever believe it was me cause I’m the nice twin. Felix: *rolls his eyes* Good luck with that.  I’ve got her chaotic family to protect me. Adrien: *smiles sweetly* true but I know more than anyone thinks I do, or did you forget the Great Art Piece Incident? Felix: *eyes widen and slight shudder* alright fine I acknowledge the danger you pose and so dearly and from the bottom of my heart dear brother mine I ask that you do not kill me. Adrien: *stares at him for a long moment* You owe me a favor, understood? Felix: *sweats nervously* understood.
Fantasy/Twin AU
Sorry for being late and not posting for a bit. Was a bit burnt out and had writer block. I will go back to write the other days soon though. Also, sorry, I suck at writing wing aus, this is my first time doing it.
Earth J-236, an earth full of mystical life.  An earth where everyone is born with wings.  Your wings represented who you are; well not really, but that’s what people believed.  If your wings were bright and colorful then you were obviously an amazing person, but if your wings were darker or had little color, then you have great evil in your soul.  Marinette was born seconds after her twin, Damian.  It takes a few years before your wings fully grow in, usually to about 6.  But with the accelerated growth serums used in their artificial wombs, it took them till they were three for their feathers to sprout.  Damian’s were black like their father’s with subtle hints of red like their mothers.  Marinette’s were pure black, devoid of any color, and her mother was so proud of that.  She was the League’s charm, for it’s believed that anyone with pure black wings was pure evil.  Her only purpose being to protect her brother, nothing else was more important than her brother’s safety.  She would die for him, because if he died she might as well have died as well as her only purpose for living would be gone.
Damian glared at his sister, his wings ruffling in annoyance.  She was hovering close to him again, and she never said anything to him ever unless she was completely sure they were alone.  He did not believe that his sister was or could ever be, “pure evil” just because of her wings.  In fact, her mannerisms are the exact opposite of what people believed.  She, in her own ways, is caring, sweet, and protective.  He had seen, and helped, her nurse a baby bird that had fallen from its nest back to health.  She would often place little things around the base for only him to find such as some extra baklava, a throwing knife, a drawing of someone, beads, or other random objects.  Grandfather had always been extra hard on her, making sure she wouldn’t betray them, she wouldn’t become “evil enough to lose herself”.  Sometimes she would sneak into his room at night, and it tore him apart to see silent tears run down his little sister's face as small black raven feathers fell onto the floor from her days worth of training.  He had been learning how to fly, her wings had been clipped every two or three months so she could not leave the base.  She had learned long ago to control her facial and wing expressions, but he could always see the droop in them and the sad shine in her eyes as she stood on the ground while he was in the air.
________
Marinette looked up and watched as the fiery Phoenix flew through the air setting Nada Parabat aflame.  She didn’t feel much as she watched her grandfather get blown up.  She only felt great anxiety and fear as she could not find her brother.  She loved her brother, and if her job was to cause chaos, she would make sure she could prevent it from hurting him.  Grandfather had told her about how cursed she was, it’s why they had to be extra tough on her, and she understood that.  They couldn’t have her hurting anyone they needed, only the people they wanted gone.  She was angry at grandfather yesterday for taking some of her feathers for failing a task, this must have been her fault.  She didn’t want to hurt her brother, her wings had only proven nothing but destruction.  She had to leave now, then she could go where no one else was, and she wouldn’t have to hurt anyone else.  So like a coward, like the disgrace she was, she ran.  She kept her wings tight against her back making sure that no one could grab them as she ran.  An arrow hit one of them, but she didn’t have time to think about the burning pain as she ran and ran and ran farther and farther and farther away.  Tears ran down her cheeks as she silently prayed that her brother would be okay.
She didn’t know how long she ran, but she knew it must have been a really long time as she had just collapsed from exhaustion in the woods.  She looked back at her wings and slowly and carefully spread them out and hissed in pain from where the arrow had pierced her left wing.  Drops of red slowly dripped down her feathers and dropped on the ground.  She quickly closed them and made sure they were as small and put away as possible.  She looked up at the trees made of brass with different colored jade leaves.  Pearl-like apples growing on a few.  She watched a baby griffon follow it’s mother in the distance, turtle ducks waddling to a pond somewhere nearby, deer nibbling on plants, she could hear the rustling of leaves and branches from unseen creatures and everything was getting more blurry and dark.  She was cold, it felt very cold.  She slowly unwound her wings from around herself and closed them tightly around her, but that didn’t stop the chill that went deep down to her bones.  She was a failure, a mistake, she would only cause harm.  Here she wouldn’t be able to do that, and if she died here, then no one would be hurt by her again, and wasn’t that such a nice thought.
________
Tom and Sabine had finally been able to hire some trusted employees and explore places in Tibet.  They had made lots of money over the years with their successful bakery, and they thought now was a better time than ever to go on a real honeymoon as they hadn’t been able to afford it before when the bakery had first started.  It was during one of these forest explorations when they saw a trail of little drops of blood and felt they needed to follow it.  What they discovered broke their hearts.  There lying on the cold forest floor was what appeared to be a child hugging their very black wings around them.  They knew of the rumors and myths of black winged people, but they did not care.  They believed that their wings were not what made them evil, but rather situations put into their lives.  Sabine quickly checked for a pulse, and though it was slow she sighed in relief when she felt it.  She quickly handed the small unconscious girl to Tom and they both quickly went to the nearest hospital.  How could someone leave such a small child all alone to die like that?  It looked as if she had been injured if the dried blood on the small fragile wings said anything.  And worst of all, upon closer examination, they had been clipped, recently too.
As soon as they arrived they carried the small girl to the front and demanded that they take her in.  They waited until the doctors were done and gave them permission to visit claiming to be the girl’s adopted parents.  It wasn’t technically a lie, they would be soon even if Sabine had to force it to happen.
When Marinette woke up she knew something was off.  She was under a blanket, she’s never been given a blanket before.  The sent of bleach and chemicals were everywhere and it hurt her nose.  There was a beeping noise next to her that was giving her a headache.  She didn’t know where she was, and that was bad.  She opened her eyes a small fraction so nobody could see she was awake and looked around as much as she could.  The entire room was white and there were bright lights.  There were two strange people waiting in chairs near where she was laying.  She wondered if they were the ones who brought her here.  Slowly she opened them up all the way and silently sat up.  It’s best to make no noise, then she wouldn’t disturb anyone.
“Oh sweety, I’m so glad you’re awake.”
The woman said in a cheery and relieved manner, but she just continued to watch and study them silently.  Her wings felt stiff against her back, though she made sure they didn’t move or give anything away.
“How are you feeling dear?”
Silence greeted them, and her face remained as impassive as ever.  They wanted something, why else would they save a freak like her?  What were they aiming for here?
“Did your parents hurt you?  If so, we can take you away from them.”
Marinette’s eyes widened only a fraction.  These were randoms, innocents if you will.  They obviously had no idea who she was, and they seemed unafraid of her and her wings.  Did they not know how dangerous she was, didn’t they know that black wings meant she was cursed?  The man and the woman looked at eachother and spread their wings.  Marinette was shocked, but she wouldn’t show it.
The large man had light brown eagle wings while the small woman had white and black woodpecker wings.  She wanted to reach out and touch the feathers, but then something bad would happen to them, so she held her hands together.
“We don’t care what your wing color is.  Your wings don’t define who you are, it’s what you do with your life that does.  Can we please help you?”
The woman said sincerely as she gripped the man’s hand in hers.  She felt a pull to them, something telling her to accept.  She didn’t want to hurt them though.  But maybe she could protect them?  Maybe she could find a way around her curse and make sure they don’t get hurt?  Slowly she nodded and they both looked so happy when she did.  She hoped that she wouldn’t hurt them, they didn’t deserve to be cursed.  Maybe if she didn’t touch them things would be ok.  If she didn’t let them touch her then it wouldn’t spread.  She could do this!
________
Apparently she couldn’t do it because this is a very affectionate family, and the first thing that happened before they let her sleep on their —super fluffy, pure Heaven— bed was give her a hug.  She had made sure that her wings were tucked under her clothes and tight against her back the entire time though.  So they didn’t touch her wings, so maybe that meant they wouldn’t be cursed.
It was strange, because the next morning they went to a courthouse, and she was adopted.  She hadn’t said anything throughout the entire event, she just watched and observed what people did.  They stayed in Tibet for another few days before they flew to Paris, France.  This was supposed to be her new home.  The city of light and love.  Maybe here, it would stop her curse.  It was so bright that it had to block out her darkness.  She still always carried one of her knives with her, she felt naked without one.  Tom and Sabine seemed to understand somehow, and said that it was her business and that was enough for them till she was ready to talk about it.  It was strange not to be interrogated for now wanting to tell someone something.
Marinette had lived with the Dupain-Chengs for about a year now.  It was strange really, they were honest business people and their joy was always sincere.  They didn’t question much of what she did even though it was probably weird to them.  They didn’t punish her for messing up like the league did, and they never went near her wings without permission.  They never plucked her feathers, and they would often ask if they could preen her wings.  She would refuse every time, but she would often wonder what it would be like to have someone else touch them.  Think of what it would be like if she weren’t cursed.  When it was time for school she would always wrap them around herself then tape them so no one would see or be able to touch them.  Things were finally going well, she couldn’t risk it now!
There was a blonde brat that liked to act like she was above her, and because her wings were always hidden with no explanation she made sure everyone knew that she was “wingless”.  She didn’t care though, being wingless was better than being evil winged.  She never really said anything in class or to other students, she never gave much reaction keeping her stoic face up.  The brat left her alone soon after for being a, “ridiculous!  Utterly ridiculous freak.”  And nobody was the wiser.
Being Lady Chaos was….the best thing that ever happened to her if she was being honest.  Even with pure black wings, people still thought she was a hero.  She never flew, she was scared she’d fall and die.  She was never allowed to fly before, and even if she technically can do so now, it’s not worth the risk.  Her partner though, Mr. Bug has gold, red, and black wings.  He can fly through the air with ease she wished she desperately had.  Sometimes after patrol she would go to the very top of the Eiffel Tower and just stretch her wings out as far out as she could.  She would close her eyes as the wind blew past her and ruffled her feathers and pretend that she was soaring through the air.
________
Year three of living with Tom and Sabine she was comfortable talking to them more, and with Plagg there to control her chaos she finally let them touch her wings.  It was strange really, she never took care of her wings, never cared enough to.  When she first felt the hands on her feathers she had to will herself not to draw them back for fear of them plucking or ripped out.  But Sabine’s hands were so gentle and smooth that they seemed to move on their own and go closer to her touch.  Sabine would smile and hum as she gently preened the dark raven feathers that were soft and smooth.  Maybe she could finally tell the class that she wasn’t wingless soon, and maybe they would be okay with it.
No, they would not as she learned from listening to her classmates talk to the new student, Lila Rossi.  To them Lady Chaos was the only good black winged person because she was chasing after Mr. Bug to earn his affections.  Lady Chaos was obviously evil before she met Mr. Bug and she would always be evil no matter what she did.  Marinette felt nauseous that she ever thought about telling them the truth.  She had never felt more betrayed than she felt now, because she had given them her trust, and they broke it without even knowing it.  After that day, she made extra sure that her wings were hidden and wore a bit thicker clothing just in case.  Tom and Sabine are a little worried about it, but she calmed them pretty quickly.  She was fine, it wasn’t like they were all great friends to begin with.  That’s probably why everyone sides with Lila and decides that she’s a terrible person.
She had tried leaving her past behind, pretending that she didn’t hurt and kill people.  Pretend that she wasn’t a weapon.  She tried to push it far away, but it wasn’t enough.  It was never enough.  She had abandoned her brother.  She betrayed the league.  She did unspeakable things to please someone who would never care about her, just her use.  The city of lights seems duller than usual, it was probably her fault Hawkmoth came to be in the first place, afterall she was cursed to bring ruin everywhere she went.
________
Lila and Chloe thought it would be a great idea to bring everybody to the Crime Capital of the World for their senior trip.  Probably to watch people flounder and worry when things go wrong, which they definitely would.  She had stopped Hawkmoth a month before the trip, but Mr. Bug took all the credit for it. The arrogant self centered bas*.  Adrien kept giving her side glances that always made her feel uncomfortable and slightly disgusted.  During school he would try to touch her with every chance he’d get.  He almost discovered her wings at one point.  She couldn’t do anything about it before because of the stupid your-rich-so-do-whatever-the-heck-you-want treatment.  Now that Adrien’s family fortune is gone, and people don’t trust him because of what his dad did, so he has to be more careful.  He now kept some distance, which she was extremely grateful for.
She would have broken his hand, she had imagined it plus other things more than once.  But then Tom and Sabine would get in trouble by Gabriel for her actions.  They didn’t deserve that, they had been nothing but good to her since they found her abandoned in that forest.
She would be fine though, as long as Lila had a grip on his arm and she was in the back, away from him.  She listened to their tour guide, Richard Grayson, talk about the history and importance of WE.  The architecture was brilliant really, and you couldn’t blame her for having to draw and sketch it.  She often thought of Damian when she sketched.  She used to leave drawings for him around the base, little things that expressed her adoration for him without getting too close.  She wondered if he was still with the league, had he escaped, did he die?  She hoped that wasn’t the case, she hoped that he would be alive and well.  Bright orange and white wings nearly slapped her in the face if she hadn’t stopped right before the movement had occurred.
“Oh my gosh!  I’m so sorry Marinette!  Sometimes my wings just spasm out of control like that!  I didn’t hurt you did I?”
Marinette just silently rolled her eyes and took a few steps backward and watched the class glare at her waiting for her to comfort the liar.  She would never lower herself to do that.  She was still an Al Ghul afterall, even if she did leave it behind when she fled.  She was thankful when lunch came, she waited far away from the line and watched silently from a dark corner to make sure no one would hurt her.  Then she felt it, a hand touching her back feeling for something.  She quickly and instinctively grabbed the arm and twisted it behind them pinning it behind their back at a painful angle.
“Ukhti, let go.”
Marinette knew that voice.  She remembered that name and she could feel her heart stop.  The lunchroom was silent as they watched the small bluenette silently and quickly release the “Ice Prince”. Everyone watched with bated breaths to see what would happen next.  The boy’s wings were ruffled in agitation and fear.
“Where are they?”
He demanded.  Marinette knew what he was talking about, she simply wrapped her arms around herself and turned her head away definitely.
“Why are you hiding them, Malak?  Please.”
Marinette could feel her wings moving in defiance to what her brain was saying.  They wanted to be shown, they wanted to be touched by her brother again.  She looked down and slowly uncrossed her arms from her body.  Damian gently took her hands in his and looked directly into her eyes.
“Everything will be ok, Taw'ami.”
She slowly nodded and with shaky fingers reached under her hoodie and began to slowly unwrap the tape that kept her wings confined.  When all the tape was in her hands she hesitantly removed her hoodie and let her wings unfold from around herself and into the open.  She had made shirts that let her wings slip through slits in the back that were tailored to her wings specifically and were most comfortable.  Damian marveled at how big her raven wings had grown and how shiny they were.  He reached out a hand slowly and gently ran his fingers down the inky black that was her wings.
Shouts of fear and accusations were thrown at her, mostly from her class.  She didn’t listen though, she just observed.  The tour guide was coming over now, probably to kick her out.  He had such lovely wings though,  they were a deep navy blue that looked similar to black with dark red and light blue running through them.  They looked so well kept and soft.
“Damian, what’s happening?  Who is this?”
“Grayson, meet my twin sister, Marinette.”
“You have a twin?!”
Richard exclaimed loudly, drawing even more attention.  The insults and jeers stopped after that.  She looked over at the class and smirked when she saw their shock and confusion.
“Yes, keep up.”
Damian said brusquely.  They must know each other well then.
“Come, we must take her away from these imbeciles and take her to father.”
Damian grabbed her wrist and tugged, her quickly falling into line like she used to when he did this.
“Now tell me Ukhti, have you been taking care of yourself?”
She nodded as they came to an elevator and walked into it with Richard right behind them.  Marinette felt her feathers fluff up nervously.  She wasn’t in control of them right now, and she wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not. Damian ran a hand gently down her right wing trying to smooth it down.
“Things will be fine Marinette.  Just watch, father will be glad to meet you.”
She looked him in the eyes and squeezed her hands together.
“No, I have not told him about you.  Things will be fine though.”
He seemed to understand her weird way of communicating, she still didn’t understand how he did.  Richard cleared his throat and both turned to look at him.
“Sorry to interrupt, but um…I’m Dick, I’m Damian’s, and yours I guess, oldest brother.  It’s nice to meet you.”
He spread his wings in a welcoming way that meant and showed safety and peace. Her wings involuntarily rose up as well to reciprocate his greeting.  When the door to the elevator opened again she quickly forced her wings to hide on her back trying desperately to keep them from sight.  Damian didn’t seem to like it, but he just grabbed her wrist and dragged her to a large office room.  The plaque on the door read “CEO Bruce Wayne”.  Their father was Bruce Wayne?!  She couldn’t go in there, she couldn’t curse him and ruin his life.  No, she had already messed up at the league, and she was just barely not messing up with Tom and Sabine, she would definitely ruin Bruce Wayne’s life, and she would not allow that to happen.  She tugged at his grip desperately trying to get away.
“Marinette, stop.  Your wings are not cursed, that was a lie.”
Marinette shook her head and kept trying to escape the iron-like grip.
“Do you not trust me anymore?”
She froze at that and quickly shook her head.  Of course she trusted him, it was her that shouldn’t be trusted.
“Good, because we’re going in now.”
And that was that, because the door was now open and she was being dragged into the office room where their father and another boy with large bags under his eyes stared at them.  Damian puffed up his chest and feathers letting his strong, big, and brilliant wings rise into the air.
“Father, this is your daughter, my twin, Marinette Erebus Al Ghul-Wayne.”
They both stared at her in shock and Marinette slowly and cautiously raised her despicable black wings into the air.  Both stared at them in awe before looking back at her, but she didn’t meet their eyes.  She didn’t want to see the disgust and hatred in their eyes.
After a few moments she looked up and saw their wings greeting hers like Dick’s had.  Their father’s wings were a mix of black and dark grey alternating the color in each row of feathers.  The other boy’s were black at the top and slowly turned to red at the bottom.  But they were welcoming her openly, so that must mean something!  Well, it was time to get to know her father, she guessed.
Chapter 3: The Plot Thickens:
He would not be outwitted by some annoying pest and neither would she!  This was war, and neither would stop until the other was subdued.  They calculated everything, they knew the ins and outs, and went through every scenario.  They. Were.  Ready!  There they sat, Marinette right behind Felix.  The tension was thick, they knew something was going to happen, it was just a matter of who would strike first.
“Marinette,”
Ms. Bustier called,
“could you please come and pass out the assignments?”
With a small smile she nodded and stood up.  This will be perfect, each of them thought.  As Marinette made her way down the stairs everyone watched with bated breath for something to happen between the two.  It didn’t look like anything had happened, no one saw either of them move.  Yet, when Marinette had finished handing out the papers, the book Felix had been reading during class was in her hand, and Felix seemed to be toying with something.  As she walked to her seat and saw what was in Felix’s hand and was seething.
“Give it.”
She said, holding out her hand.  Adrien’s eyes widened upon seeing the small lucky charm bracelet he had given her for her birthday in the hands of his brother.  Felix simply smirked holding it up in front of him.  The class was in a silent shock until Alya voiced everybody’s thoughts,
“HOW?!  You two didn’t even move!”
The two thieves didn’t even glance at her.
“Very sweet, I bet you wear this everywhere you go.”
“What if I do?  It was a gift from a friend.”
Felix’s smirk grew wider and his grey eyes flickered with amusement,
“Just a friend?”
Her glare grew colder.
“If you don't want me to tear your precious book, give. It. Back.”
His smirk fell as he now glared at her, his eyes turning a cold steely grey.
“You wouldn’t dare.”
It was her turn to smirk as she simply held it in the air, fingers pinching around a page bending it downward.  They were at a standstill and the class just stared on silently and very confused, except for a few.  Alix and Kim were trying to hold in their laughs while Adrien just looked on with concern.  He was about to interject when Felix held out the charm to her.
“Fine take the stupid thing.”
Marinette smiled victoriously as she handed him his book back while taking the charm.  Marinette took her seat, and class continued on, albeit with a bit of hesitation and awkwardness.  Before class ended he saw something roll on his desk.  He looked back to see Marinette looking away.  Rolling his eyes he opened the crinkled piece of notebook paper and read what was inside.
I hope I didn’t ruin the book.  I don’t think I could live with myself if I did.  The Name of the Rose is one of my favorites.
He stared down at the book in question, and for some odd reason, it was now one of his favorites too.  He didn’t know she liked medieval murder mystery themed books.  She always struck him as the fantasy romance type.
The class continued on with strange glances thrown at them every now and then.  The class was still wondering how on Earth they did that.  They had been watching them the whole time and not once saw them move towards each other.  At the end of class Adrien walked over to Felix and asked,
“How do you two do that?!  How did you not notice!  She took it directly from your hands!  …Maybe she is an assassin.”
He joked only earning a cold glare from his twin, and some cackles from Plagg.
“No Camembert for the rest of the day.”
Felix muttered loud enough for only Plagg to hear, which to his satisfaction shut the small God up, along with earning a glare from the being.  And if Felix’s homework was suddenly ripped to shreds before he went to bed, who’s to say what happened when no one was awake.
Chapter 2: It Wasn’t A Fluke?!?!?!?!?!:
Felix leaned against the door jam casually, one hand in his pocket the other typing on his phone. This had been planned to the perfect degree. The brat would stumble in late as she always did and as she staggered past him he would snag off one of those infuriatingly cheerful red bands out of her hair. It would serve as proof that he could get close without her realizing it, and would have the added benefit of messing with her hair for the day. Exactly ten minutes after he’d set up shop next to the door, Marinette dashed into the room, half tripping over her own feet in her haste to get into the classroom. About a foot from the door she stumbled nearly crashing into him. Felix smirked, this was practically childsplay. He shifted as though moving out of the way and snagged the hair band gently tugging it free. Quick as a wink he was backed against the wall once again, the red ring tucked safely into his vest pocket. He was just about to congratulate himself when he reached up to start typing on his phone.  Then he realized that his watch was missing. He stared at his empty wrist then up at Marinette. She was staring at him, his mouth slightly agape as she steadied herself with one hand against the desk, her hair halfway undone with hair partially covering her surprised face. They stared at each other for a moment both thinking something along the lines of, ‘What the heck?’
At the same moment they both straightened, glaring slightly at each other. Felix held out her rubber band, other hand open palm up. She narrowed her eyes but suddenly his watch appeared from somewhere on her person into her hand and they swapped the two items much like they had the phones yesterday. The class watched the entire exchange in surprise unsure what they had just witnessed. Felix and Marinette sat in their respective seats stiffly, determinedly not looking at the other. Adrien stared at his twin in confusion, and Alya leaned over to her friend whispering frantically. Nino spoke up,
“Dude, what the heck was that?”
Felix glared around his brother at Nino.
“Nothing, it was merely a misunderstanding. Nothing more.”
For the rest of the day Felix found himself glaring suspiciously in Dupain-Cheng’s direction. How had she done that? He had not felt a thing! That should not have been possible, considering all his martial art training, and his instincts honed by nights spent as Ombre. Perhaps Adrien was right and he needed to practice in the suit more. If a mere girl could get the jump on him he needed to severely reevaluate his skills. With this decided Felix put a notification on his phone to put in practice time for the next week and longer if necessary.
*****************************
The next time Felix and Marinette clashed was about two weeks later after both of them had spent significant time practicing and honing their skills to their sharpest point. Felix ran into Marinette on their way into the school building and hooked his finger under the collar of her jacket as she lurched forward, sliding it off, gentle as silk. He stood triumphant until he turned back to her, and noticed her hand on her hip, the other hand holding up his tie letting it hang from her pointer finger. They both tossed the other their respective items of clothing and proceeded to continue into the school as if nothing had happened. Purposefully ignoring the stunned looks on Adrien’s, Alya’s, Nino’s, and Alix’s faces. That evening both of them ranted to their Kwammi’s about the encounter though Felix’s was more concerned.
“I don’t understand! How is she doing this! I swear she must be an assassin in training! She’s out to get me! She’ll taunt me and when I least expect it she shall stab me in the back and dump my body in the river. Never to be found again!”
Adrien and Plagg watched his concerned pacing with eyebrows raised, before glancing at each other and each and bursting out laughing. After Felix sent them an angry but stressed glare Adrien slowly got his laughter under control. As Plagg continued to cackle maniacally, Adrien stood and crossed to Felix gently placing a hand on his brother's shoulder. He stared at Felix with a gentle smile on his face.
“Felix buddy. She’s not an assassin. She’s not gonna kill you and even if she was, we would stop her. No one hurts my brother, you got me?”
Plagg only laughed harder, which made both Adrien and Felix send bitter glares in his direction. Plagg laughed, spinning in the air, tiny hands grasping his stomach.
“The fact that you guys th-think that SHE would do that is so-so hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-”
Plagg couldn’t even finish the sentence because he was too far gone.
*****Meanwhile at the Dupain-Chengs*******
Marinette was sitting at the desk on a face chat with her siblings from the states.
“I just don’t get it Damian, how is he doing this?! If I didn’t know better I’d say it's miraculous magic, but master Fu assured me that Felix is not Hawkmoth. So unless there are more that I don’t know about then I don’t know what it could be. I mean it doesn’t match the skill set of any of the ones that Master Fu said were at the monastery or in the current Miraculous Box!“
Damian stared at her for a long moment before sighing.
“Tt. It sounds like he could be a criminal like the ones here in Gotham. The imbecile reminds me distinctly of Catwoman.”
Marinette nodded thoughtfully,
“Hmmm, I hadn’t thought of that. Maybe he is just a criminal. I’ll have to do some digging. Do you have any suggestions?”
Damian thought for a moment.
“If I was there I would help, but at the moment I am off-world with Father, so I will not be able to assist you at this time. Perhaps you could ask Drake for some assistance? As much as I hate the imposter, I will admit he is perhaps...slightly more skilled at long distance assessments of criminals.”
There was a joyous squeal over the line.
“Awww Dami, did you just compliment Timmy! I knew you liked him!!!  I am so proud of you baby brother.”
Damian growled.
“Tt, I do not like the imposter, I simply was acknowledging that he has some worth until I am prepared to hone my skills in that particular category.”
Marinette raised an eyebrow,
“Mhhhm which is why you refused to let him go when he was injured last month and wouldn’t wake up.”
Damian spluttered, his dark features doing nothing to hide the slight flush to his cheeks.
“I did no such thing. I was merely ensuring the imbecile would wake up so I could ask for details on a case I was working on that he happened to also be working on.”
Dick laughed,
“So why exactly were you hugging him then? You even fell asleep cuddling with him.”
Damian let out a demonic shriek and disappeared from view as he pulled his katana out of nowhere and launched himself at Dick. There were the sounds of a scuffle and Mari pinched the bridge of her nose. After fifteen minutes of grunts and unintelligible shrieking. She spoke,
“Goodnight you guys. Talk to you tomorrow Dami. Please ask Timmy for that help for me, ok? Oh, and Dick, send me some of those pics please.”
There was a louder screech as Damian popped back up momentarily to say,
“TRAITOR!”
And then he was dragged back down into one of Dick’s octopus hugs. Marinette smiled and ended the call. Tomorrow was going to be fun.
