Going to introduce an addendum that requires all goth bands to have a bass. It doesn't even have to be a bass guitar; it can be an upright bass, bassoon, bass harmonica, I don't care - just a bass something.

The shadows are long
The moon is a sliver in the skies
If we cross the line
Tonight would be the time

Upright Peacock Jazz
Gary Peacock was a very busy session player for decades with the likes of Keith Jarret. On a lp to cd transfer I have his December Poems (1979) a mostly solo bass with Norwegian saxophonist Jan Garbarek added on two selections. His upright bass sound is sweet, his arrangements aren’t challenging & the music is sublime and not overly ‘romantic’ or emotional. I love solo upright bass.
With this I…

MOUSEY IS SO CUTE AAAAA
A follow-up to this post where I showed a WIP of this. It's Idol Mouse with a double bass BECAUSE MY INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS WON AND I WANTED TO >:3c
Originally I was gonna draw her with a violin (because she said she played it in the past), but I wanted to do something more unique. No, I'm not digging on her size--quite the opposite in fact. I can picture her rocking a double bass despite her size; why wouldn't she?
I meant to do more of these VTuber-with-an-instrument doodles for a personal "Drawtober" (and I may still do some of that), but my sights are on some... other things at the moment. 👀

I saw this thing on Pinterest where band kids Google stock images of their instruments and die inside so guess what I'm doing now?
Long post, so I'm putting a read more
Hey, dude.... do you, uhm, do you plan on playing with it in that position? And your eyes closed? Plus, I'm pretty sure that bass is at the wrong height, but maybe that's just the weird angle he's holding it in (that would be damn near impossible to actually play well in, btw)
Oh dear God, what is even happening here. Where is the peg? That is WAY too short for you to play. And why does the wood look like that? I have never seen a bass with stripped wood like that. And, what is that grey spot right above the bridge? And, why is he pressing the frets like that? He doesn't need both his middle and ring finger for the second fret. Or any fret. He needs his ring and pinky for third and beyond fret, sure, but not his ring and middle. But OMG PUT YOUR PEG DOWN DUDE
Ooooooook this guy again. Who in the world was posing him for these photos? And did they forget that this is an upright bass, not an electric? Also, I don't think he's even playing the string he's pressing the fret for. He's pressing the fret for an F#, maybe a G? But he's playing an open A? At least, I think he is. Idk I'm too distracted by the fact that NOBODY PLAYS THEIR BASS LIKE THAT. Not anybody I've ever heard of, at least!
Ok. Now it's too tall for her.
SIR WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR BOW????? IS THIS A NORMAL THING PEOPLE DO??????
Wait a minute. I've just realized, have all these people been holding the bows wrong? Cause I'm like 80% sure they've been holding German bows with a French grip. I dont think this guy is doing either, though, he's just. Doing his own thing, I guess. French grip, German grip, and Steve grip
I might reblog this with electric bass photos idk
