Ok hear me out: once the crew gets to bauldurs gate they have mini funerals ala good place.
(part 1)
I'll give you a taster (+ my beautiful redeemed bhaalspawn):
Gale:
Gales "funeral" would be at a library. He would pile books together as a makeshift coffin and wear a bright pink night robe with fuzzy slippers and curlers in his hair, as well as a dusty pink eye mask. Everyone would be wearing some sort of robe, his flowers of choice for the event would be lilly of the valley.
"gale died doing what he loved, learning."
"some might say this would be the ultimate fate for gale"
He would interject, eating the cucumber on his eye, "I do not think the best outcome for me would be turning into an ilithid. But I must admit- it is fitting."
Later events would be a wine tasting and going shopping for new books.
Shadowheart:
I feel like hers would be a moonlight bonfire, lots of ring dancing and setting her old sharran armor on fire.
"I think-" karlach would start up "a lot of us would be dead if we didn't have our cleric. So shadowheart has earned her props.. not only is she reliable- she is resilient, she is strong."
"despite our quarrels, I am glad to fight with you. I have watched you bloom into a magnificent warrior, for what force? We will see soon enough. May your death be glorious." La'zel quipped.
Her flowers of choice would be night orchids. she would then insist on learning how to swim and manage a doggie paddle.
Karlach:
I feel like hers would be on the beach with a fruity drink in hand as she floats around in the water. The fish around her have probably boiled, which is more incentive for a fish fry.
Everyone gets like a back breaking hug. Lots of physical activities party games wise, be drunk and merry. Most likely people get a bit sunburnt and burnt burnt.
There is no speeches as Karlach is too busy expressing her gratitude about everyone else.
She gets withers to do limbo with her
Her choice of flower is sunflowers.
La'zel:
She would like to opt out of this. a simple "thank you la'zel, may you die horribly in battle. May your wounds bleed out and may you suffer immensely" will suffice.
(her choice of flower is snap dragons)
Jaheria:
Hers would be a touristy walk of bauldurs gate.
She talks about her life, a sense of oral history to pass onto others. The night ends with root veggies chips and cheese, and a generous donation to animal sanctuaries within the cities from the Harpers.
Her idea of fun is bastardizing the ballads that volo wrote via mad libs. Which immature humor ensues.
The mighty _____ o' noble _____ (noun *x2)
Found ___ and sent them back to ____ and ____ (noun, adj*x2)
She would rest in a fainting couch in a puddle of sun in the wildshape form of a big cat, tail swishing idily as people read off their bastardized poems.
Her choice of flowers are jasmine blooms.
Wyll:
His would be a picnic in the park, as people read their speeches to him in comfortable sun dresses and loose cotton clothing, he would hold a little bouquet of daisies resting on a soft gingham sheet with a crown of flowers.
He would insist of going to his favorite pastry shops in the city. Sweet wine, tarts and small cakes. A day of sweets to remember the sweetest person in the camp.
His whole funeral was about allowing everyone to experience the childhood he knew, which wasn't much, but was something he knew they needed.
The look of pure joy in everyone's faces was enough to sustain him for the rest of his days.
The goals were, teach karlach hopscotch, double dutch with Wynne, climb a tree with astarion, and show la'zel some human dances. The older people in the group were less inclined to indulge, taking the roll of the gossiping parents to the 20 something aged other members in the band.
The night ended with dances and fiddle music.
His choice of flowers are thistle blooms

ohh what about something like yandere immortal volo finding reader again in the modern day after they go back to their time 👀
I love the concept of immortal Volo. Ngl I missed the yandere part at first and almost went ham writing a long pinning ficlet of Volo suffering. I'm very glad I waited until after I slept to start writing lol.
Content warning Yandere, Volo is rich due to money investments and scams (he does the latter for fun), abduction, stalking-ish, obsessive thoughts, desperation, hate to love, Volo pov, Volo has dilusions about reader being Arceus' child, worshipping reader, Volo murders a man with a gun
-------
Volo always viewed himself as a deep thinker, in this modern Era he spent most of his time thinking and planning for something he would never have. Originally he had craved God hood, but after experiencing immortality for all it was he no longer craved it. No he craved You. You who had hundreds of years ago seared yourself into his soul and defeated him; he'd hated you for much longer than he would like to admit. But over the years the truth had come to him, you weren't Arceus' chosen no you were their child, the true next God. Of course the pokemon God would send their own most beloved child to him to guide him, and he realized far too late. He'd let you slip through his fingers and he'd yet to find you again, he had no doubt though he'd find you soon.
The faith he'd find you eventually fueled him in actually carving a life for himself. When he found you he had to be ready to provide for you, to shower you in anything and everything you could ever want or need to show he was worthy of you. It wasn't hard really to become a faceless billionaire, he had the time and the smarts. The hard part had been securing a home worthy of you and creating a room you would like until the time came when you both would share a room. As humbled by time as he had been Volo knew no other was worthy to be at your side, his beloved divine deserved only the most loyal and loving consort. He dare not call himself your husband with out your permission, he had to earn that.
He made sure everything was perfect for you, and yet you still had yet to reveal yourself to him. Part of Volo nagged at him that you would be just like your parent in that way, he had squander his chance to have you with his blind need to carve a better, perfect world. But the blond did his best to ignore that. You'd show yourself eventually, be it as you were or reborn he'd find you.
Idly he'd flip through the TV channels looking for a hint of you. He didn't expected today to be any different but once again he was proven wrong. A news story from the unova region News with your face filled his screen and he turned it up. Apparently you had resurfaced along side Ingo reuniting the twins he'd accidently torn apart. You had been champion of Unova yet this information had managed to evade him. Your status and now fame would make the next parts hard, but he'd manage he always did.
He debated retrieving you himself, the hospital you were being kept in didn't have the best security. Volo could easily slip in as a guest and slip out with you in his arms. But the risk of him being tracked down and loosing you was not worth the instant gratification of holding you. He wanted you forever not briefly. So he hired a man skilled in this kind of work.
When the hitman threw you at his feet Volo felt rage bubble inside him but kept his well practiced smile on. "A little rough with my guest aren't you?"
The hitman huffed as he glared down at you on the floor squirming, "They got bite, I better be getting double our original price for this shit."
Volo was pleased to see recognition in your eyes as you noticed him, "Volo?" You asked unsure and confused, your voice music to his very core.
"Yes my love? It's been so long hasn't it? I-"
He was cut off by the thug again, "Runion later payment now or I might slip the champion's location."
Rage flared even hotter in Volo, who was this idiot to threaten him and his divine, threaten their future and safety?! Before the hyped up henchman could do anything Volo moved; a gun swiftly pulled from a hidden holster and a bang rang out.
The aftermath was instant you were screaming in terror as the other man collapsed dead in an instant. He wasn't surprised sadly, you despite all your power always sought to protect life not end it; but he'd learned long ago sometimes death was necessary to ensure your goals.
He shushed you cupping your face in his hands, "Shhhh my angel it's okay. You're safe now I promise."
You never had a chance to fight back as he took you to your new room. The entire time Volo was telling you all his plans, how hard he worked to make this island perfect for you, and how with a spine chilling certainty you were never leaving him again.

How did he get outed?
Our story starts 300 years in the past, where after learning of Volo's betrayal of Akari, Warden Ingo seeks him out before he can leave Hisui to head to another land and leaves him with a parting gift that Volo won't be forgetting anytime soon.
Now it's 300 years in the present, and it's a busy day at the Battle Subway! Emmet has just gotten off the Doubles Line- it was a verrry successful day, and he is in a good mood! But as he's heading back to the main office for his lunch break, he sees some kind of commotion. When he approaches to find out what's going on, one of the Depot Agents tells him that a strange blonde man suddenly approached Ingo after his morning shift on the Singles Line was over and started bothering him. Something about Zoroarks?
Ah. Emmet knows those nasty rumors well, so he marches straight towards the center of the crowd. Ingo briefly catches his eye, but that’s just the distraction needed, as it turns out- the next thing anyone knows, the blonde man has done... something and all of a sudden, Subway Boss Ingo just slumps over like a puppet with its strings cut- and behind it is a strange white Zoroark the likes of which they’ve never seen before, that looks just as shocked as them.
Then it’s chaos, as Haxorus and Chandelure erupt from the (unconscious? dead?) Ingo’s pokeballs and force the crowd back, and before anyone can stop it, the strange Zoroark scoops up Ingo’s body and just runs, disappearing into the tunnels. Before vanishing, it briefly makes eye contact with Emmet- and in that moment, he realizes that he’s looking at his brother.
and that’s the last time he sees Ingo for a verrry long time.

—————
If anyone ever tries to tell you that RAD tests were easy to study for, the best thing for you to do is to either laugh in their face or ask them to tutor you. It might be because the tests in general are much harder than the ones administered on Earth, or maybe it was because you’re a human who hasn’t had any background to any of these topics other than the background taught in class.
And you paid attention, you took notes (when you weren’t distracted by Mammon, that is) to the best of your ability, and you asked for help when you needed it. You even stayed up almost all night the first time you had a test studying and revising your notes, rewriting them and even finding videos to watch on that subject. You had walked into the classroom the next morning, hyped up from (caffeinated beverage) and ready to kick this test in its butt.
The downfall of this attitude came when you looked at the first page of the test to not recognize almost any of the material, only a few things scattered here and there. You say in your chair, staring at the paper and trying to work your way through the questions, making the most sense out of them that you could, but it wasn’t helping all that much.
You weren’t surprised when your test came back with a barely passable grade, but Lucifer was. Oh, Lucifer laid into you for a good two hours, talking about how you were going to ruin Diavolo’s program, and that you should study harder next time and ask more questions. You assured him that you would, and he didn’t seem all too believing in your answer, but he let you be.
His speech stuck something into you, however. Something that you felt all too well in the human world: inadequacy. You felt terrible, you had tried your best, you had studied, but it still didn’t help anything. That night at dinner you heard all the brothers talking about the test, and even though you hadn’t done the worse (that medal went to Mammon, who even though he didn’t study or even pay attention in that class, still managed to only get a few point worse than you) you by far hadn’t done the best. Lucifer and Satan tied for that position. Asmo, Beel, and Belphie got somewhere worse than those two but better than you.
You picked at your food, not all too interested in it, your stomach filled with your old friend. You could feel Beel’s eyes on you, and then once you looked at him you noticed his eyes were actually just on your food. You took your napkin from your lap and placed it on the table next to your food.
“You can have the rest of my food if you want it, Beel. I’m not that hungry,” you say, and leave the dining hall, no one bothered by your exit. There was a sting of pain, but you quickly ignored it. You didn’t need to be their priority 24/7, that’s just ridiculous.
You went immediately to your room, sitting at your desk and looking over your test and then at your notes and textbook, to see where you went wrong. Turns out there was an entire section you had forgotten about, which was what almost the entire test was over. You made revisions on your test and slid them into a file to save for the final over that class, and started to read the next chapter in the textbook.
You idiot, you really didn’t double check that you studied everything? You don’t deserve to be here, you’ll tarnish Diavolo’s name. Worthless, they should’ve picked someone else.
You gripped the edges of your textbook, trying to shake the words from your head. You knew they weren’t true, but deep inside you, you couldn’t help but feel like they were true.
You tried to come up with excuses as to why you had just forgotten about that section, but you couldn’t. You had locked everyone out of your room except for Diavolo and Lucifer, of course, so that you could study. You didn’t have anything distracting you, no demon or phone (which you had hidden away in a drawer by the bed).
So you really just forgot about it? You should be punished for that. You know how to do it, so why not administer them yourself?
But you hadn’t self harmed in so long. You had been clean for multiple years now, and you hated the thought of ruining that for a measly test.
But it’s not just the test, is it? You have possibly tarnished the name of your beloved boyfriend, you broke the respect you’ve gone through so many lengths to build with Lucifer also. You don’t deserve to have either of them, or to be in this program. Just do it, they won’t notice. You need to be punished.
Silently you went over and got the razor out of one of the new pencils sharpeners you had bought a few days ago because you thought they were pretty, and they were having a sale. Moving over to your bathroom, you shut the door and locked it, bringing the blade to your wrist and slashing it a few times. You let out a small breath, an almost instantaneous relief washing over your body.
The dopamine that you had been drastically craving for so long flooded into you again, and you almost didn’t notice the knock on your room’s door. You quickly applied bandages to your wrists after you cleaned them, slipping the razor into the folded towels under your sink and pulling down the sleeves of your turtleneck. You were still wearing your school uniform, just without the jacket on top of it.
After being grilled for two hours and then having to finish homework before dinner you just hadn’t had the time to change. You stepped out of your bathroom to find Diavolo standing by your desk, his back turned toward you and one of his hands placed on something, looking it over.
You felt your stomach drop and you wanted nothing more than to curl up in your closet with a nest of blankets and pillows and just wallow in the darkness, but your boyfriend turned to face you, his hand now gripping the paper, a mask of confusion covering his face.
“I-I’m sorry, I know that grade isn’t acceptable, I thought I studied hard enough I just-”
“[Y/N], I know you studied hard for this test. You didn’t let me talk to you for a good three hours. What happened?”
Tears welled up in your eyes and he came over, wrapping his arms around you, one of his hands stroking the top of your head.
“I forgot an entire section from the chapter. I’m sorry,” You sobbed, and he shushed you.
“You don’t need to apologize, Princess. Sometimes that happens. It’s happened to me, it’s happened to Lucifer. Sometimes we just forgot.”
“But ‘Volo, I can’t forget. My mistakes look bad on the both of us, not just me. Imagine if that grade was worse, how tarnished this exchange program would be?”
His eyebrows laced together.
“Princess, your grades can always come back. One bad test doesn’t harm much, considering your grade in that class, it shouldn’t affect you much.”
You stayed quiet, biting on your bottom lip.
Don’t listen to him. He’s lying to you. That’s all demons do, lie. Are you really going to believe him over me, something you’ve known for so long?
You wrapped your arms around him, heat radiating off of his body. You didn’t believe him, he didn’t discredit that your grades could tarnish the program, so you would just have to make sure to study more. You could stand to skip a few meals, anyway. Then you could study and still manage to keep up your social life.
“‘Volo, no offense, but why did you come to my room anyway?” You ask him after you calm down a bit.
“I’m supposed to take you dress shopping for the ball coming up, remember?”
Suddenly the conversation the two of you had a few days ago came back. He wanted to instill some human school things, and you mentioned dances to him, and he was more than thrilled. He scheduled one for a few weeks from now as soon as he could gather the student council.
“Oh, yeah. I’m not changed or anything, just give me a few minutes, please. He nodded and walked over to your bookcase, filled with books from the human realm that you enjoyed, though some spots were vacant due to Satan.
You chuckled at him, going to your closet and picking out a long sleeved shirt and some skinny jeans, tucking in the shirt and making sure the sleeves covered your bandages.
“Alright, I’m good,” he turned and smiled at you.
“Beautiful, you know I love that color on you.” You blush and nod, taking his hand as he drags you to dress stores to find a base dress because “Barbatos can add anything you want to it.”
You felt bad, but then thought that Barbatos might enjoy something else to work on other than Diavolo’s issues.
You both decided on a simple long-sleeved crimson a-line dress, asking Barbatos to add whatever he felt would look nice. You had enough trust in him, and you’re sure that Diavolo will pitch in some ideas, too.
————
Your plan of skipping meals had worked well enough, you steered away from the brother’s questioning by grabbing a granola bar from the supply you kept in your room and showing it to them before you left for school each day. You packed a few grapes and other soft fruits for your lunch so when you were in the library you wouldn’t disturb anyone.
You had been studying enough that you felt confident in your next few tests in any classes, and your efforts paid off when you passed all of them. Lucifer seemed pleased, and so did Diavolo when you showed him.
You still ate dinner with the brothers when Diavolo didn’t invite you out, but slowly you started to lose your appetite. You didn’t want to eat. You’ve noticed how much trimmer your waist was, and how much clearer your skin was. You knew it wasn’t healthy in the slightest, but you felt better about yourself. And if you could improve your grades and lose a few pounds, it couldn’t hurt to do this for a few more weeks, right?
That night was a try-on for the dress for the dance, to make sure it fit you correctly with the shoes you planned on wearing and the add-ons didn’t take away from any place or attract eyes to any place you didn’t want them to.
You were met by Barbatos at the foyer, and he led you to the dress’s room. You gasped when you saw it. Underneath a light and on a mannequin stood your dress in all its glory: the red dress had black tulle added underneath to add a bit of volume to the skirt, and red flowers were embroidered to the chest area and the sleeves.
“Barbatos, this looks beautiful!” You exclaim, walking over it to feel the fabric.
“I told you she’d say that,” you hear your boyfriend’s voice, and you look over at him and smile, quickly looking back at the dress. “Are you going to try it on, or are you going to let the mannequin model it?”
You squeal and nod, Barbatos unzipping the back and leading you and the dress over to a division. You quickly undress and step into the dress and he zips you up.
You look in the mirror and frown slightly. It doesn’t sit on you like it did, and you expected that because you were losing weight, but you didn’t expect this much. It had only been a few weeks- maybe two or three- it shouldn’t fit you like this.
“Is something wrong, Miss?” You quickly look at Barbatos and shake your head.
“No, no it’s amazing,” you run your hands over the gap in the waist and the shoulders before stepping out from behind the curtains.
Diavolo’s face flashed confusion for the quickest of seconds before returning to adoration.
“Ah, that looks stunning on you, Princess.”
You feel blood rush to your ears and cheeks before Barbatos comes at you with pins, pinning it where it needed altered. He fit it so that it laid against your body like it had in the dressing room at the shop.
You thanked Barbatos when he was finished, and he brushed off the thanks, saying that it was his duty.
You walked with Diavolo back to your dorm, and he offered to buy ice cream. The thought of ice cream made your stomach rumble, but then the thoughts of how many calories filled it also came and you told him you were hungry.
“[Y/N], I asked Lucifer and he said you hadn’t eaten dinner for the past few days. I also find it hard to believe that a granola bar and handful of fruit can keep you filled at all. Why aren’t you eating?”
He had stopped and grabbed your wrist directly over where the scars were healed, but the skin still felt slightly tender. You winced slightly and pulled away.
“Princess, please. Talk to me. I won’t judge you,” he comforts after you stayed quiet.
Don’t tell him. You’re perfectly fine. You know you are. Why is it his place to tell you what’s best for your body?
You felt a sudden wave of anger so strong you wonder if there was a lesser demon of wrath around impeding your judgement.
“Why does it matter?” You snap at him. “I’m thriving right now, I’ve never done better in school and I’m managing to lose a few pounds. I’m doing good.”
He’s just jealous. He’s trying to hold you back.
“Why are you trying to hold me back? I thought you would be proud of me.”
“I am proud of you Princess, but you can’t sacrifice your health to make me proud. Please, Princess I’m worried.”
You roll your eyes and look at anywhere but him.
“Can you just take me home, please.”
His mouth opens like he wants to say something else, but instead just closes his mouth and nods.
“Of course, Princess,” he comes over to you and laces his fingers with yours, and you walk in tension.
He kisses you when you reach the gate of the House of Lamentation, and you part ways.
—————
You didn’t have another issue until the next night, when you were setting up a small nest of pillows in your closet. You had put a light in there and made it a perfect place to study, other than your desk.
“Hey, Normie, Lucifer says you have to come to dinner tonight,” you hear Levi’s voice call to you through the door.
You huff and call back that you weren’t hungry and you could practically hear Levi’s eye roll through the door.
“He said if you said that to send Mammon so he could pester you, so I think I’ll just save you the agony of that and just tell you to come now.”
You scoff and pull on a flannel, buttoning it up over your sports bra you had been wearing.
You open the door and walk with him to the dining room, sitting at your place. You could feel all of the brother’s eyes on you, and you could hear Asmo whimper slightly.
“[Y/N], what have you done to yourself?” You hear him whisper, and you choose to ignore him. You hadn’t seen any of them but Lucifer for at least 5 days and that’s what he chose to start whatever conversation they planned on having with you?
You look at the plate in front of you, it was spaghetti and a side salad with garlic bread. Coincidentally, one of your favorite meals on Earth.
You pick up the fork to the side of your plate and place the napkin on your lap, stabbing a tomato from the salad and putting it in your mouth. You could still feel the eyes of the brothers on you.
“Why are you all staring at me? Please stop,” you ask them, and they almost immediately diverted their gaze to their food where they started to eat.
You finished the salad and took a bite of the garlic bread, almost gagging immediately. Not because of the taste, you noted. So why had you gagged? You placed the garlic bread down before taking your napkin off of your lap and setting it beside your plate.
“You think you’re done?” You hear Lucifer ask. You frown and look over at him, your heartbeat picking up in your chest.
“Yes? I’m not hungry. I wasn’t planning on coming to dinner but you made me anyway,” you told him, and pushed away from the seat.
“No, sit back down. You’re not done eating,”
“Yes I am, Lucifer,” you shot back, but you didn’t move from your seat.
Suddenly you were overloaded with all of the brother’s pleas that tried to make you eat. You felt the room start to spin as you look at the plate of food. You could only imagine the embarrassment of trying on that dress and it not fitting correctly, of you looking like a laughing stock next to Diavolo in an ill-fitting dress.
“[Y/N], please, you have to eat.” You heard a brother say, and to be honest you couldn’t remember or discern which one it was. All of their voices were melding together.
“No! I don’t have to do anything! I’m not fucking eating okay? You’ll have to deal with it. I can’t. I can’t eat this food, I’m sorry. I’m leaving.”
You stand up from the table, rushing out of the room and to your room, fastening the lock on your door that even Lucifer couldn’t get through with his powers, only Diavolo. You went directly into your closet after grabbing the blade from the towels and shut the door. You were in almost pitch black other than the little sliver underneath the door, but you didn’t bother turning on the light before you cut into your wrist. But you didn’t feel the dopamine this time, so you made another one.
Your movements were in such hysterics at this point that you didn’t notice how many you had made and how bloody it had gotten before you heard your door open and a bunch of feet come running in.
“Princess,” you hear Diavolo’s voice.
“Please, make them leave. Please,” you whimper out, loud enough for them to hear. You hear a few pairs of feet leave and a door close before Diavolo opens the door, looking at your wrists.
“Princess-” he started, and you sobbed.
“I’m sorry, ‘Volo, I’m so sorry, I just-”
“It’s going to be alright Princess,” he soothes you, and thankfully the cuts weren’t that deep, they had already stopped bleeding when he rinsed them in the sink.
He brings you to your bed after he puts ointment on the cuts and bandages them.
He sits leaning against the headboard and brings you to his lap and leaning against his chest.
“Princess, I don’t expect for you to talk to me unless you want to, I’ll wait here as long as you need me to.”
“Are you angry with me?”
“No, no! Of course not. I’m more disappointed than anything. Princess, you know you can tell me anything, and I’m saddened that you thought that the only resort you had to take whatever you were feeling out was on yourself.”
“I didn’t want to burden you. You have so many duties.”
His hand came up to rest on your hair, stroking it and rocking you slightly.
“All of my duties can be waived. I can always deal with my duties at another time, but how would I be able to console you if you are dead? How am I supposed to help you, Princess? I don’t want to lose you. I’m watching you waste away to nothing right in front of me and I don’t know why, I don’t know anything!”
“I just feel a lot of pressure from school, I guess. It’s a lot of changes at once, and I was never very good at changes. Then I started studying more in place of meals, and I started losing weight, and I liked the results. But now I can’t eat more than a few bites of anything substantial at mealtimes, because I’m scared I’ll look like an oaf standing next to you in my dress if I gain any amount of weight.”
“Princess, you shouldn’t treat yourself like an object. You aren’t just any ‘exchange program member’, you’re my girlfriend. You’re the one I want to marry, the one that will carry our children eventually. You aren’t an object to make me look better, you are your own self. You shouldn’t base your value or how you treat yourself off of other people’s perception of you or how you think they perceive you.”
You stayed quiet for a good while, thinking about what he said. You leaned back away from him, looking into his beautiful golden eyes, bringing one of your hands up to rub your thumb on his cheek bone.
“Can you help me, please? I need help. I don’t think I can do this alone.”
“Of course I’ll help, Princess. Everyone will help. Lucifer, Satan, Asmo, Beel, Belphie, and I’m sure even Mammon and Barbatos will help in their own ways.”
You smiled slightly.
“I love you,” you tell him before laying back on his chest.
“I love you too, Princess.”

"I'd thought for certain he'd lose consciousness, but he's still maintaining control. Not only does the Demon Slayer Sword conduct anti-magic energy in massive amounts, it absorbs the magic of all who touch it. Therefore no one should be able to wield this blade, but you are without magic and so its power courses through you. You've been dictating its ebb and flow from the beginning without even realizing it. When I used my blood to heal you, it increased the rate of that power's movement. In doing so I unintentionally removed any limitations on the sword's capabilities. Now your magic power will burst forth in a massive wave and you will become a vessel in this torrent of anti-magic. [...] I suspected you were of a certain bloodline, but I was wrong. Due to your body's mutation, the mana did not dwell within you. Simply put, you're defective. But because of it, you are able to hold the sword. You aren't anything special. Not in the slightest. And that is precisely what makes you extraordinary. Now that you're in this form, all magic is powerless against you."

The Toonami Trending Rundown for March 30-31, 2019. Time sure flies by when you’re having fun, and it’s been 7 years since Toonami’s April fool’s day revival. And 7 years on, things continue to look up for Toonami and the anime industry overall as we continue to enjoy this great programming block that continues to inspire. And among other moments from the night, Asta unleashes a hidden power inside of him to stop Ladros, while Kirito and Eugeo enlist in a swordsman academy to level up their skills, and after a yearlong event, we finally reach the end of the Chimera Ant arc.
On Twitter, #Toonami would trend in the US alongside #BlackClover and #HunterXHunter. Dragon Ball Super, SAO, and Shippuden also trended alongside these shows, but not outright. Sword Art Online saw a character trend in Kirito as he duels Volo as he accidentally flung dirt onto him when training, and would also have to deal with the school bullies in Humbert and Raios. He also trains along with his disciple Leina and later on, he and Eugeo become disciples to Ronye and Tiese. With Kirito’s knack of “cheating” on Asuna and having girls eventually fall in love with him, no doubt lots of noticing from senpai was seen.
And on tumblr, #Toonami would trend alongside #BNHA and JoJo’s. The full list including statistics and tweet counts from the twitter app and Amr Rahmy’s Fan Screening analytics app can be seen below.

In Akira news, it looks like the live action adaptation might be going forward to be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Warner Bros. According to Variety, the California Film Commision will be giving Warner a $18.5 million tax credit on the condition that Californians are employed for production and the entire film is shot within the Golden State.

Jason DeMarco and Gill Austin joined our colleagues Paul and Sketch on the podcast on April Fool’s Day, as they talked about things going on with Toonami’s operations. You can check it out by clicking here.
And of course, the big news of the week…
Tumblr media
Yeah, you SAO haters are glad that Toonami rekindled relationships with Aniplex now, huh? Anyways, after a few weeks of anticipation on what Megalo Box’s replacement on the schedule will be, Toonami and Aniplex has just announced this week that the hit anime horror series The Promised Neverland will be joining the better cartoon show.
Based on the manga by written by Kaiu Shirai and Illustrated by Posuka Demizu, The Promised Neverland has been one of Shonen Jump’s biggest surprise hits in recent years with over 128 chapters and counting since it began serialization in August 2016. The show’s first season was a big hit and talking point during the Winter 2019 anime season in both Japan and on streaming, so much so that Studio CloverWorks and Aniplex have already greenlighted a second season, which will premiere sometime in 2020, as well as efforts by fans and producers were made to eventually get the show on Toonami, and their wishes were granted.
On Monday, Toonami revealed that TPN will make its debut on April 13 at 12:00am Eastern/Pacific, to go along with a significant schedule shakeup by the Adult Swim scheduling department, with Dragon Ball Super, Hunter x Hunter, and Attack on Titan staying put, SAO, Black Clover, and Shippuden moving up at least one spot, and My Hero Academia, Boruto, and JoJo’s moving down at least one spot. See the full schedule below and make sure to make plans and set your DVRs if needed.
Tumblr media
Some of the movements have be a bit jarring and can take some time to get used to for some, and let's not even get started on the outrage from JoJo's fans and the salt from SAO and Black Clover haters. According to Jason DeMarco, the schedulers wanted to switch things up based on performance metrics among other things and also told fans that “Something moving to the tail end of the premieres in the block does NOT mean we don’t care about it [and] won’t support it.” Not to mention with other acquisitions coming down the pipe and with some long running shows ending soon, the schedule churn was going to happen sooner or later. As Sam Hinke once said, Trust The Process.
Tumblr media
As The Promised Neverland won’t be ready for another week, we’ll have another doubleheader of SAO from 12:30-1:30 am Eastern. We’re not sure if it will be a double premiere of Episodes 9 and 10, or if it will be an encore airing of Episode 8 followed by the premiere of Episode 9, we've heard conflicting reports on the matter. We’ll let you know which one once we can confirm. In addition, Hunter x Hunter will also begin the Hunter Elections arc, the last until the series goes on its “Hiatus x Hiatus”, and Naruto starts heating up wtih Boruto’s School Trip arc and Shippuden’s The Taming of Nine-Tails and Fateful Encounters Arc.
Edit 4/2 @ 12:20 am EDT: We have just confirmed with the help of our media partners at @toonamisquad that this week's SAO will showcase be the latter, with an encore of Episode 8 followed by the premiere of Episode 9. Schedule your plans and set your DVRs accordingly. And yes, the infamous Episode 10 will be held off...for now.
Edit 4/3 at 1:45 pm EDT: Turns out Toonami changed their mind and Jason DeMarco confirmed that they actually will have a doubleheader of Episodes 9 and 10, and will edit the infamous episode 10 down for broadcast appropriate standards. All i can say is get ready.
Until next week, stay gold as always.
Legend: The shows listed are ordered based on their appearance on the schedule. Show trends are listed in bold. The number next to the listed trend represents the highest it trended on the list (not counting the promoted trend), judging only by the images placed in the rundown. Headcanon: Volo’s feelings on Felix- a timeline;
When Volo first opens up the rift, he is surprised about a person falling out- He had not actually planned for that. Fortunately, word gets around about Felix from the beach, first.  He might have killed any witnesses, but given that Felix has no memory, no attempt was made.
Tumblr media
Point one for Volo considering Felix as a ‘little friend’ is his likemindedness on raising pokémon. Most of Jubilife is afraid of the monsters, so even someone like Volo who claims to use them as tools, gets a little alienated. For that reason nobody is comfortable around him, adding to the ‘shady salesman’ vibe. He assures them that they are well trained, harmless to people, useful, and so on. So, the battling is good fun, and not an opportunity that he gets, often. Even if being beaten gets at him, he can’t help but want to teach Felix things.  Just a harmless little friend, who might guide him to more pokémon and monetary gain...
Tumblr media
Then comes the plates. This stranger not only has the power to quell the Nobles, but has an interest in treasure- enough to hold onto one of them, and Volo is a little shocked. He’s after them of course, and starts to consider that perhaps they should be ‘partners in crime’, so to speak.
As he decides to test Felix’s strength again, he starts to catch on and suspect that maybe Felix isn’t...’just some child’. He proceeds to sicc him on the bandits after the Wall Fragment.
Tumblr media
What with Ursaluna’s calming underway, he’s starting to see that Felix is a bit exceptionally kind! He really starts to try to butter him up, as he’s the key to both finding all the pokémon, and the plates. He even theorizes on why the nobles ever challenged Arceus and likens Felix to the ancient hero, noting him as ‘Loyal.’
Tumblr media
As he double checks on Ingo and Felix’s missing memories, Volo begins to theorize again. The ‘kind of world that stretches out on the other side of the rift’ is the Almighty Sinnoh’s realm. He knows why the rift reopened- He caused it, but why then, would Felix have fallen through to them?  Fallen through to him? See, he’s not just a random casualty or just a little buddy; Felix is one of Arceus’s angels, perhaps to help him meet Arceus! A good sign from God!
Tumblr media
He hasn’t much of a choice but to lag behind in the Alabaster Icelands. True as it is to play up his weaknesses a little, this one is legitimate. It’s one of the reasons that he is so concerned about Felix, hoping that he can do, what Volo himself can’t, for now.
Tumblr media
Once Felix is abandoned by the others, Volo feels vindicated; making sure to keep his place and maintain that trust he so uses. He is... amused at Felix’s one attempt to flirt...curious about where he sleeps, is he? It’s something that he starts to consider, actually being able to ‘keep’ Felix. Just another shameful sacrifice, or something more?
Tumblr media
Moreover, he does start to feel bad and worry. ‘I would truly regret losing one of our most beloved and loyal customers.’ At this point, he’s truly decided, Felix is coming with as soon as his plan is complete. He’s also utterly excited about finding the rest of the plates, keeping up the spirit of adventure about it. The Pixie Plate only appears into his life, by the way, via means of playing a trick; Cogita plays a trick on him, and he’s playing a trick on Felix.
Tumblr media
With everything coming together, though...He gets too excited and starts to lose it. Even after hinting at his plan for the world, Felix follows. So he must agree that forging a new, better world is the right thing to do! Look at the sparkle in is eyes! He has him now...!
Except, he doesn’t.
Tumblr media
Felix hesitates when he makes it to the top, and takes a fighting stance once he threatens Arceus and the world. Volo knows that a person good enough to take to the new world, would want to protect the old one, with all of the strength that he has. Volo fully intends to win, for his own good.
Tumblr media
When he doesn’t....He’s a bit lost, and Jealous. Arceus didn’t pick him, so why would Felix? He wanders off, unable to take the news. He reconsiders what went wrong, and how to make it right again- How to meet Arceus himself. He Bargains with the grief before leaving.
Tumblr media
Post Game, Volo’s Acceptance of the truth relies on many factors. The biggest, being, is if he’s able to subjugate Arceus at all. With Felix having it in tow, Arceus isn’t far, and he will still keep trying to get to it. If he can, plain and simply, Volo Wins.
If he cannot.....well, Volo doesn’t have anything left. The thing that beats out his wish, Felix’s dream....well, that becomes a priority. Truly, and sincerely, if nothing can be done, that’s all he has left. It’s crushing, but....Felix isn’t going to give up on him either, after all.

METEORA TRAVEL GUIDE: Itinerary, Budget, Things to Do 2018
The first hermits arrived in hopes of finding seclusion and spiritual peace. Centuries later, it is still easy to see why, of all places, it is here that they chose to dwell. Even amid the the busyness of tourists like us swarming around the monasteries and gawking at the surrounding landscape, Meteora remains as serene as slumber and as solemn as a prayer.
It’s not difficult at all to be captivated by Meteora. I had my first glimpse of it through a viral Facebook video that features the monasteries perched atop lofty rocky pillars. At that moment, I knew I had to set foot in it and see it for myself. There’s this old saying immortalized in memes: If you want something badly enough, the universe will make conspire to make it happen. I’m not one to rely on the wisdom from memes, but it turned out to be true in this case. I didn’t think I’d be able to visit Meteora this soon, but a series of fortunate events led me to this.
WHAT’S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?
The name “meteora” means “high up in the air,” referring to the towering pillars that make up this rock formation, overlooking the plains of Thessaly in Greece. Since the first hermits took shelter in its caves, these sandstone columns have seen 24 Eastern Orthodox monasteries, making it one of the faith’s most important sites, second only to Mt. Athos. Because the monasteries were built on the summit of these rocks, they offer complete isolation. For most of its history, the only way to reach them were by long ladders, ropes, and nets.
Today, only six of these monasteries remain standing. Inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List, Meteora has been drawing tourists from all around the world for its historical, cultural, and geological significance as well as breathtaking scenery.
Here’s more info about Meteora.
Language: Greek. However, English is widely spoken.
Currency: Euro (EUR, €). €1 = 1.14 USD, SGD 1.6, PHP 61 (as of October 2018)
Modes of Payment: Cash is still the most common.
Electricity Info: 230 V, 50 Hz. Power sockets are Type F, which also accept Type C plugs.
April to June and November, when the weather is comfortable and the crowd isn’t that big.
July to October is high season, so rates in Greece in general are higher and the site is overrun by tourists. July and August are the driest and the hottest months.
December to March is winter. It’s not just the coldest, it’s also the wettest period. It doesn’t mean though that it rains every day. We visited in December, but it didn’t rain at all, not even a slight drizzle. Maybe we just got lucky. One important thing to note when traveling in winter is that there is no public bus service to Meteora from Kalambaka or Kastraki, which limits your transportation options significantly.
There are two towns lying at the foot of the Meteora cliffs: Kalambaka and Kastraki. To get to Meteora, you need to find your way to any of these.
Most independent travelers and backpackers prefer to stay in Kalambaka, which offers more lodging, dining, and tour options than Kastraki. In Greek, the official name of the town is Kalabaka, but it is also often called Kalambaka or Kalampaka. Don’t be confused. They all refer to the same town.
Here are some of the top-rated hotels in Kalambaka and Trikala, as scored by Traveloka and Tripadvisor users.

The nearest airport is Nea Aghialos National Airport (aka Volos Central Greece Airport or Volos Nea Anchialos Airport), located in Central Greece, south of Thessaly.
But most tourists come from Athens. If you’re coming from Manila or Singapore, the most cost-efficient way to reach Athens is to fly with Scoot. Scoot fares to Athens start at PHP10,403 from Cebu, PHP10,704 from Clark, PHP11,198 from Kalibo and PHP10,754 from Manila. These can still go lower when there is a promo. Look:
Actual fares we found for March
All flights from the Philippines will have a layover in Singapore. You can take this opportunity to also tour SG while you’re at it. From SG, the travel time to Athens is 11 hours and 10 minutes. Scoot uses a new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, so you can expect the cabin to be spanking clean and well-maintained.
If you want to score ATHENS PROMO FARES, keep a lookout for Scoot’s monthly Take-off Tuesday promotions, which happens every first Tuesday-Thursday of every month, available on their official website!
Athens to Meteora by Train
It’s easy to reach Meteora by train. Kalambaka has its own train station and is connected to Larissa Train Station, which is the central railway station in Athens.
Take the Metro Red Line to Larissa Station. If you’re coming from Syntagma, it should be easy because Syntagma is also along Red Line, just four stations away. Fare: €1.40. If you’re coming from Athens Airport, you must first take the Blue Line to Syntagma Station and then transfer to Red Line to Larissa Station. Fare: €10.
At Larissa Station, board the train to Kalambaka. There is only one direct train per day, scheduled to leave Athens at 08:20am and arrive in Kalambaka at 01:18pm. Fare: €18.3 – €25.6. If that’s not an option for you, you may travel to Paleofarsalos first then switch to another train bound for Kalampaka. See the schedule below.
Alight at Kalambaka Station. This is the last stop.
From Kalambaka Station, take the bus to Meteora. From March to November, there’s a bus leaving Kalambaka at 9am, 12 noon, and 3pm. Fare: €1.80 one-way, €3.30 round trip. No public buses in winter. You can either take a cab instead or just hike, which is great and very scenic.
For the train timetable, visit: Athens-Kalambaka Train Schedule.
Athens to Meteora by Bus
There are no buses that go directly to Meteora or Kalambaka. Instead you will have to travel by bus to Trikala, the city closest to Meteora, and then transfer to another bus to Kalambaka.
Make your way to LIOSION 260 BUS STATION. This is the terminal where buses bound for Trikala are stationed. It’s at 260 LIOSION STREET. – If you’re coming from other parts of the city center, you may take the metro. The nearest Metro Station is Kato Patisssia Station, which is 900 meters away. If you take the metro, make sure you have enough time allowance for walking. You can also just take a cab. – If you’re coming from the airport, board City Bus X-93 and alight at Liosion Street Bus Station. Travel time: 55 minutes.
Take the bus bound for Trikala or Kalambaka. A bus leaves at 7:00am, 10:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 6pm, and 9pm daily. An extra 5pm trip is added every Friday and Sunday. Travel time: 5 hours.
In Trikala, transfer to another bus bound for Kalambaka. There’s one every hour. Travel time: 30 minutes to 1 hour. Total fare from Athens to Kalambaka is €31.50.
Monasteries Tour
Six ancient monasteries remain standing to this day, and they’re all open to visitors. From Kalambaka, you can take the bus to the monasteries. The bus will stop in all six monasteries. Here’s the bus schedule for March 16 to November 30, 2018. This may change in the coming years so make sure to call your hotel to confirm the schedule. No bus service in winter.
Fare: €1.80 one-way, €3.30 round trip.
As you can see, there are only a few buses per day, so you won’t be able to see all the monasteries if you’re relying on the bus. What most tourists do is they take the bus going up and then they just explore the place on foot, then they take the last bus back to Kalambaka. Ideally, you should be able to visit 2-3 monasteries in a day. Although it is possible to see more than 3 in a day, the pace may be too fast or stressful.
Note that these monasteries are not open all week. Each has its own closing day. We indicated the operating days and hours for summer 2018 and winter 2019 below. However, please note that these change every year and every season so double check with official sources before your trip.
Great Meteoron Monastery Summer hours: 9am-4pm (Closed: Tuesdays) Winter hours: 9am-3pm (Closed: Tue-Wed)
Varlaam Monastery Summer hours: 9am-4pm (Closed: Fridays) Winter hours: 9am-3pm (Closed: Tue & Fri)
St. Stephen’s Monastery Summer hours: 9am-1:30pm, 3:30pm-5:30pm Winter hours: 9:30am-1pm, 3pm-5pm Closed: Mondays
Roussanou Monastery Summer hours: 9am-5pm Winter hours: 9am-2pm Closed: Wednesdays
Holy Trinity Monastery Summer hours: 9am-5pm Winter hours: 9am-4pm Closed: Thursdays
St. Nikolaos Anapafsas Monastery Summer hours: 8am-4pm Winter hours: 9am-4pm Closed: Fridays
All monasteries above charge a €3 entrance fee. Kids 12 and below can enter for free.
These monasteries offer not just stunning views. They also house important historical artifacts. For example, the Great Meteoron Monastery also showcases the role of the Orthodox Church in key events in Greek history including World War II. St. Nikolaos Anapafsas Monastery displays frescoes created by Theophanes in 1527.
The Great Meteoron Monastery and the Varlaam Monastery are the biggest and the two most popular. St. Stephen’s Monastery and Roussanou Monastery are the easiest to access.
You can do it on your own, but because of the site’s immense historical importance, joining a guided tour will make your trip not just enjoyable but also enlightening.
Half-day tours usually cost €25 to €35.
Great Saint Scrambling Tour
The Great Saint Rock is one of the most iconic in Meteora. If you’re up for an adventure and you’re in great shape, this is right up your alley. This is a guided tour that will lead you to the tallest rock in the area, around 400 meters above the ground. There will be some climbing, abseiling, traversing, and lots of hiking, so be prepared physically and mentally.
You MUST have a guide to be able to do this because it’s a bit dangerous. Tours start at €60.
Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary
Built in 7th century AD, this is one of the oldest churches in Greece. This Byzantine church is often overlooked by tourists even though it’s centuries older than the monasteries perched on the Meteora rocks. It has three aisles and features frescoes that can be traced back to as far as 14th century. Don’t miss the relics of an older Green temple can also be found inside.
If you’re staying in Kalambaka, you can easily make your way to this church.
Kastraki Village
Kastraki is one of the two villages at the foot of Meteora. Although Kalambaka harbors more hotels, restaurants, and tour agencies, Kastraki is quieter and more picturesque. Even if you’re staying in Kalambaka, Kastraki is worth a stop too. The village lies in between two colossal rocks, ensuring an unforgettable view from the base. The 19th-century houses along its streets are well-preserved, too!
Here’s a sample overnight Meteora itinerary. It assumes you’re arriving in Kalambaka before 2pm. We’ve indicated the entrance fees if you want to explore on your own as well as the usual tour rates if you want to join a guided tour.
DAY 1 – SUNSET TOUR
Arrival in Kalambaka
Hotel check-in
Meteora Sunset Tour: €30
St. Stephen Monastery. Entrance fee: €3
Dinner in Kalambaka
DAY 2 – MONASTERIES TOUR
Early check out
Sightseeing Tour: €30
Great Meteoron Monastery: €3
Varlaam Monastery: €3
Roussanou Monastery: €3
Lunch
Departure
If you’re exploring Meteora DIY-style and on foot, Meteora is going to be one of the cheapest trips you’ll have in Greece. But if you’re joining guided tours, prepare to shell out around €100 for the tour fees, entrance fees, and gratuities.
Is Meteora safe?
When it comes to crimes, yes, Kalambaka and Meteora are very safe generally. But as in other places, follow the rules and don’t leave your things unattended.
If you’re not physically fit, don’t join some of the hiking tours, especially the Great Saint Scramble. It is a physically demanding activity.
Because of the rugged terrain and lofty cliffs, there’s always danger especially when it rains, so be extra careful. Don’t go too close to the edge. Wear shoes that have a good grip.
Should I explore Meteora on my own or should I join a guided tour?
It is possible to explore Meteora on your own. As mentioned, from mid-March/April to November, there are buses that can take you to the monasteries. It is also accessible if you just hike. However, having a guide will make you have a better understanding of the history and significance of the place. If you’re hiking, the trail isn’t always well marked, so a guide can be a great help.
What to wear inside the monasteries? Is there a dress code?
Knees and shoulders must be covered. Men need to wear long pants (trousers) that cover the knees. Women must wear skirts that cover the knees. There are wraps and long pants that can be borrowed by the entrance.
Are there restaurants near the monasteries?
None. No restaurants or cafes. There are small stalls selling snacks nearby, but that’s about it. It’s best to bring your own water and easy-to-eat food.
What is tipping policy in Kalambaka?
Tipping is NOT mandatory or expected in Santorini. You can just round up the bill. If your bill is €23.5, they usually just pay €25. But if you’re very happy with the service, 10% of the bill should be fine.
Do I need a visa to visit Greece?
Greece is part of the Schengen Agreement. For short visits, a Schengen Visa is required for most nationalities except for nationals of 62 specified countries which include Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States.
If you’re a Philippine passport holder, you will need a Schengen visa. We have a separate post discussing the visa application process in detail.
