Figure Drawing's Back

I was able to attend my first figure drawing session of 2024 last night and it felt great to get back in touch with old art buddies and draw one of my favorite subjects. Doug can hold a pose like a greek god! This was a long pose session, so while I could have done some gesture drawings and studies, I chose to just settle in and really absorb his form.

Drawn in water soluble graphite on mixed media paper 2 hour pose with rests (model and artist, lol) and the particular burnt orange color of that chair was driving some of my fellow artists crazy. I was kind of glad I opted for grayscale last night-- besides, I've been doing so many color pieces recently.
