Celebrating 6 years on Tumblr and a number of followers I thought I would never reach, I would like to repay you for your love and support in the form of a request event. Writing is a hobby of mine that allows me to escape, to push my boundaries, and to leave an impact on readers. Even if you crack a smile, laugh at the words or feel understood by them, I'm truly honoured that you've joined me on this journey. 💞

Now, onto the good stuff.

As voted by you, readers, in a previous poll of mine, you can request stories based on genres, settings, but you can also throw a prompt into the mix.

HOW DOES THAT WORK?

You send me an ask with a genre and/or setting and a certain idol in mind, but you can add a prompt from these lists as well (they might help with certain settings):

I decide on how long the story will be, but I plan on writing stories less than 5k for this event (so expect drabbles and one-shots)

it's been a year already since my last pinned, and I got shadowbanned exactly around that time back then because of course I did, so here's a new one 🩷

My pre-debut story: I was born on October 31st, 1992 at 3:00 AM in Deqin County, Tibet to my parents, Onizuka-Xia Hinata, a Chinese-Japanese farmer, and Xia Dichen, a Chinese-Tibetan singer who was very popular in Tibet. I began formal education in mainland China at the age of four and sped through it, graduating high school at the age of five and college at 9 with two degrees, one in medicine and one in law. Shortly after my tenth birthday, both of my parents died due to getting trampled when our family yaks went on a stampede one day. Custody of me was given to my dad's childhood best friend, Hideto Matsumoto from J-Rock group X Japan, and he was granted the right to move and live with me in Tibet, so he did, but also continued activities with his band. In 2007, I traveled with Uncle Hide to the US for one of X Japan's longer tours and ended up getting on the American TV show, Kid Nation, which would be my first televised appearance ever. Later, I attended the September 28th SHINee World 2014 concert in Chiba at Ichihara City Hall and was approached by their manager who suggested I audition for SM entertainment. I listened, made it in, and only trained for a month before being added to the line up for the SM survival show 99 Problems. In the show, I scored 1st overall (despite a lot of evil editing :/) and was made co-leader with 2nd place winner, Taeyong, of a group we would name Neo Culture Technology. Other original members were Johnny, Seungcheol, Mark, Jeno, Hwall, and Hendery, but NCT would soon have many other units added to it with new members.

Fun facts about me:

Before becoming an SM trainee, I ran a very popular SECHSKIES fan account on Twitter under the username Mummy that I now use for idol things, but my old DSF posts are still up for the world to see

My stage name is Mummy, a nod to both my Kemetic roots and fashion style which many would consider to be feminine.

My personal fandom name is teethling because I play D&D, my favorite species to play as is a tiefling, and my representative animal is a sabretooth liger

I have heterochromia, albinism, Tourette syndrome, autism, DID, and was born blind as well as deaf but I had corrective surgery when I was nine, so I can see and hear, now

I was mentored by the members of X Japan during my trainee days

NCT albums always come with a CD, some standard member photocards, and two album-themed posters, but could come with at least seven of the following items: A short letter to fans, an AR photocard, am membership card, a small album-themed purse, a film strip relating to the album’s production or members in general, a holographic photocard, an album/member/group-themed plushie, an album/member/group-themed stationary item, an album/member/group-themed jewelry item, an album/member/group-themed, an album-themed look book, album-themed member ID card, album/group-themed temporary tattoo stickers, a fragrance photocard, a member polaroid, a member photocard, or a free concert ticket to the next concert closest to the location the album is being shipped to/sold in.

Lightstick versions: There’s one like Epex’s lightstick in this reality, but it has “NCT” printed on the bottom of the narrow end & there's no button or such with “zenith” on it. Additionally, it's pearl neo champagne colored instead of that, like, forest green or whatever that is and black instead of grey. Also, the lightstick naturally glows black instead of white, but adjustments may be made via the NCT lightstick app. Plus, the band that separates the light-up sector from the rest of the lightstick is the only band on the lightstick besides the ones at the end and front. Lastly, the stripes that run parallel up the light-up sector aren't so prominent, it & the other lines blend in pretty well, but are still visible because they're meant to indicate what part of the lightstick may be removed for battery changes. Then, there’s another like The Boyz’ lightstick in this reality, but it has “NCT” in the middle of the heart & “Neo Culture Technology” printed on the side instead of “TBZ” in the middle of the heart & “The Boyz” printed on the side. There’s also one (which comes in many different colour combinations which looks like a revolver & another that looks like a pistol.

Greeting: “Out with the old, in with the new! Hello, we are NCT _”

Concept: NCT’s concept is a mix of that of Ateez, Just B, and NCT’s from my original reality.

Note: All the names after Pharaoh are middle ones… I'm Arab, it's what we do. Additionally, SECHKIES is an SM group, Cravity is an SM group, Monsta X is an SM group, Kris Wu doesn’t exist, Hyuna doesn’t exist, Dreamcatcher doesn’t exist, none of the big non-SM groups are near as popular (I’m a fan of a lot of ‘em, but I’m also an attention whore), neither Luhan nor Zitao leave iKON (EXO), SHINee's Jonghyun, ASTRO's Moonbin, X Japan's Hideto, f(x)’s Sulli, & Kara's Goo Hara, Kim Hwansung, etc. get the help they need and don't die. Plus, me & the other NCT members are all in one ginormous gay relationship and I got rid of all the inactive SM artists, SM solo artists, NCT Universe: LASTART, and SM girl groups. I also added the Seventeen members, Huang Justin Minghao from Yuehua's NEXT, and ex-The Boyz member, Hwall, to NCT, Block B, eaJ and BtoB to EXO, and NCT WISH to Cravity. Additionally, the StayC, Aespa Everglow, and (G)I-DLE members are part of Offlinetv, not idols. Oh, and any not already covered people that I scripted songs and shit from also don’t exist (this list is long, I’m not gonna name ‘em all).

PS: My voice claim is Corpse Husband and I'm 9 feet tall because when given the choice to become my ideal self, why wouldn't I? Before anyone comes at me, I did use to have GERD! Also, like in this reality, my biological parents were abusive because I can't bring myself to completely erase the idea of them, even if it would be for the better of myself. I also didn't script myself having any disorders I don't or didn't have in this reality.

Fandoms: the main one rn is f1 lol. before that, kpop was my main fandom from 2008-2017, with a brief return to it in 2019-2021 because i got into wayv (who are ironically, a chinese group lol). i think my time in the kpop fandom is done now lol but i still like and listen to the music regularly, especially from the time period that i was deep into the fandom.

Favourite Holiday: christmas, although i live in a place that doesn't snow very often and it doesn't have the same vibe as a white christmas does ngl although maybe a white christmas will be obsolete soon thanks to global warming 💀

pre-read: beautiful deception

hello all! ari here, i finally got around to editing, updating, and moving my NCT gang au, “beautiful deception”, off of wattpad and onto tumblr! it’s been about 6 or so years since i first wrote this fic... wow. it got a lot of love on wattpad, but my writing style has changed and grown immensely since i started this, so i figured it was time to give it an upgrade and finish it here on my tumblr. so if you read this fic and it seems really really familiar for some reason, you probably read the initial version of it on wattpad under my old username mineyoonghi!!

a few things to be aware of before you begin reading:

1. i started this fic waaay back when NCT was ot18, literally days after the “black on black” mv was released lol. that being said, the fic is written with only ot18 until chapter 21, when i found a way to incorporate wayv; i am hoping to find a way to make it ot23 but be warned, you may not see sungchan or shotaro here.

2. i wrote the initial fic on wattpad from a 1st person pov and named the character song seunmae- i decided to change this and instead convert the fic into a reader-insert 2nd person pov, so bye-bye seunmae lol. if you see the words “i” “me” “my” etc. in this fic, that’s just a typo from the original version hehe, please ignore.

3. i got locked out of my wattpad account where i wrote this fic (mineyoonghi) a few years ago because i lost access to the email i used to sign up.. smh. anyways, wattpad has been a bitch about not letting me get back into it so the story is unfinished on there; i’m pretty mad abt it because i had SO many chapter drafts and plot points saved in my unpublished works there, and i have no way of getting back to it to remember where i was going with the story. so everything after ch.21 will be from scratch, since that was the last part uploaded on wattpad for public reading. i’ve called my email provider so much that they know me by name and they still can’t unlock the account for me. ugh.

4. in case i havent mentioned wattpad enough yet, i’d like to say that this gang au was largely inspired by another fic i read on there named “bandaids”!! i totally fell in love with it although i don’t remember the user who wrote it (or if it’s even still up anymore). so if you see a lot of similarities between bandaids and this fic, it’s because beautiful deception was brought to life after reading that one!!

5. if you’re an OG who read the oldie version of this up on wattpad, two things: i love you i love you i love you, and also forget that version pls and thanks its SO embarrassing haha. but seriously, if you remember that version then you remember how weird the ages/personalities were for some of the members,, don’t worry i fixed that here. idk what i was on when i wrote some of the members that way lmao but it’s all good in this fic, it’s much better now.

6. if you were one of my beta readers for mineyoonghi and you remember who the traitor is, DO NOT I BEG OF YOU PLEASE!!! do not comment who it is!! please don’t spoil the reading experience for my lovely tumblr followers,, and for those of you who have no idea what i’m talking abt: it’s not who you think. :)

7. this was such a long note so thank you to all who made it through to the end!! i’m so excited to bring this passion project of mine back to life after so many years, and happy reading! xoxoxoxo times infinity!!!
