oof it's a Ben Florian kind of night. thinking about being Ben's fiancee who can do literally no wrong in his eyes. it doesn't matter if you're from auradon or the isle, you are a sweet innocent lamb. you're his sweet innocent lamb. even if you've committed horrible crimes he's like "yeah I know that but underneith the surface-" he's so doting to you all the time. it's giving "who broke it" "I did" "no you didn't" after the incident at cotillion once he's done some damage control you better believe that Ben, now a king, will drag the core four and uma and harry and anyone else involved into his office for the lecture of a fucking life time. you're sitting across from him between Uma and Carlos, dripping wet. you had managed to change into some dry pajamas before you entered his office, but they're so light weight and the fluffy palace towel you were given is already damp.

you sit across from him with his royal blue cardigan draped over your shoulders looking so sad and sweet like a little stray alley cat it takes every ounce of will power he has not to wrap you up in his arms and kiss you until you're smiling again. some palace servants pass out warm tea and more towels as you sit across from Ben. the sleeves of his white shirt are rolled up, and his gold family crest ring glints in the warm lighting of his office. he pinches the bridge of his nose, leaning on the desk, before he begins to speak.

"so who was planning on telling me about this grand plan?" he asks, rhetorically and pissed off, gesturing vaguely towards Uma. he knows Mal and her friends knew what was going on and decided to handle it themselves, before getting you and eventually, Ben roped in.

"I'm sorry-" you can barely get the words out before he looks up at you, cutting you off.

"not you." he states. his voice is significantly softer, noticably warmer when directed at you. he doesn't care if you were the centerpoint in the disaster and flimsy attempt to seduce him and sieze the crown or if you didn't know what was going on until after it happened. if he knows you, which he does, he knows you'll blame yourself way more than you should. he can look past the collateral damage, he can look past the media circus that's inevitably hurdling their way, he can even look past what was essentially an attempt to infiltrate and topple the auradon government, but the one thing he can't look past is the fact that you were put in danger. he's trying so hard to remain diplomatic like he's been trained to his whole life, but god help him if he's not tempted to throw every one of them into the deepest darkest dungeon he can get his hands on. because you and him (and everyone else for that matter) knows that when it comes to your safety, he doesn't screw around.

in my loosely gathered and not very folklore strict personal werewolf lore, werewolf is a catchall term for lunar based shifters with similar canine based traits (howling, packs, some level of canine morphology, ect) but tend to be pretty visually diverse otherwise. which is how you get gorgonopsid beast and monkey beast in the same classification of creature

#lycanthrope is also used but is considered a bit pretentious of a label in a lot of circles outside of like. academia on the subject i think #this is just for my personal daydream stuff but i like to have frameworks to play off of even in idle fantasy #i had a rough sketch for a hare werewolf sitting around i lost track of. i should work out that idea again

brief history.

born somewhere in connecticut, but their memories of the state are clouded and dense. born to parents who were happy, always smiling - an older brother, if kes can remember right, if they can still remember their little sister.

arson / fire / death; around the age of five, or maybe six - a mysterious fire took over their house, consuming everything in sight. and by some sort of sick miracle, he was the only one to make it out.

from there on - kes was a product of the foster system. for the next few years, it was them in group home to group home, never fully wanted, never fully belonging to anyone.

they're fostered out to a family in marina when they're ten, and the sheth household was the only household that stuck by kiran. he put up a fight for a while - never made it too easy on them, but they never gave up. by twelve, they officially adopted kes.

an angry kid whose fire barely extinguished - for a long time, even into teenhood, even when they drew into themselves and their endless amount of books.

eventually kes learned to turn the anger into passion, to do something better than mope around, or get into useless fights; started studying seriously, obsessively absorbing information.

after high school, they left to study at columbia, english and psychology; a waste of time for most people, maybe, but not kiran.

stayed in the city for a long while, moving tiny apartment to tiny apartment and surviving on the bare essentials - a mountain of both student and medical debt threatening to avalanche over them.

eventually moved back to marina after their masters, did a few research programs and their own independent studies before going for their doctorate at the local university. and after that - kes settled on becoming a professor. had bigger dreams, but life got in the way of it. and that's currently what they're doing now!

facts & temperaments.

regularly goes by kes, it's just their initials put together but it's almost preferred at this point.

fire / injury; was left with substantial burn scars from the house fire all those years ago, mostly hidden away by their clothes. they can be, at times, insecure about them. they prefer the lights off.

chronic pain / chronic illness / invisible illness; also a sufferer of the double whammy that is fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. their flare-ups for fibromyalgia began when they were a late teenager, while their CFS started manifesting during their later college years. a lot of days are tolerable, but a lot are also unbearable. is at the point where they rely on a cane more often than not, even as a precaution.

a lot less angry than they were as a teenager - is too tired for it, maybe - but they still have a tendency to fixate on their chosen fields of study. is always learning, even after receiving their doctorate.

tends to be wary of strangers, or just people they don't know very well. will still be cordial, or even strike up a conversation if it suits them - but the wariness remains.

on the other hand - endlessly loyal to those who've stuck by them since childhood. treasures their friends deeply, would probably die for them even though half the time they make him want to rip his hair out.

tends to run more neutral - doesn't care for taking sides, though is naturally biased towards his friends and generally tolerates their shit more than anyone else. patience can wane a little thin towards others. tries to end arguments, not start them.

a little oblivious when others flirt with them - kes has spent so long focused on their schooling and then their career, that the idea of settling down has completely slipped their mind.

I KNOW for a fact that Mikasa (and Ackerman as a whole) should be 100% hunters, but man the concept of banshee Mikasa??? Is living rent free in my mind. Even though it would be her screaming Eren's name most of the time.

And even just that? Her screaming 'Eren!' and the power behind it pushing everyone on their knees?? Beautiful. And the pure raw and emotion of it, her knowing that something was going to happen to him if she didn't scream but screaming always brought out death and suffering? Wonderful. My mind is a beautiful space.

#with the new of the new aot season (I'm still at season 3 lol BUT I have read the manga so) and my current obsession with Teen Wolf I HAD #to daydream about a fic in that universe. I won't rant about the 'Teen Wolf in the AoT universe' idea going on in my head #I'm ranting about the 'AoT in the Teen Wolf universe' concept forming in my mind because is beautiful and somehow resolves around Jean #most of the time even tho Eren is supposed to be the main character (with him taking 'Scott's role' so to speak) #I might make a post about my thoughts on that idk. Soooo. During d&d today (this was our sixth session!!!! Sixth!!!!!), our group got access to a zone they never should have gotten anywhere close to that early, found a missing NPC they weren’t supposed to find until way later, is probably going to be arrested and got on the bad side of a pirate crew by lying to them and attacking one of their members, so that’s probably going to come bite us in the ass later on?? Also, Zeph got bitten by a werewolf and rolled a nat 1 on their constitution save
