My insanely long list of Hunter Headcannons (Updated after Thanks to Them)

Hunter really likes stuffed animals, ever since he was a little kid. However, as he grew older he began getting embarrassed about it. Which is why his Sprig plush is hidden under is Pillow.

Hunter also likes cuddling with stuffed animals as he sleeps. It gives him that sense of affection he never had.

Before Flapjack, Hunter would also often talk to his stuffed animals as if they were people. He didn't realise it, but he was doing this due to his extreme loniless.

Hunter throughout his whole life is determined to never show weakness to others. He had to do this to survive in the harsh environment he grew up in. Any sign of weakness would lead to people not taking him seriously at best, to his life being threatened at worst.

Hunter, outside of when he was a baby and a toddler, has hardly cried in his entire life. It definitely wasn't safe for him to show many emotions in the castle, especially sadness. Hunter had to appear strong at all times, which leads back into the thing where Hunter feels like he can't show any weakness. Crying or even just sadness would make him vulnerable, so he repressed it as much as he could. Canonically, we've only seen him cry twice in the show, and once in Dana's art, and even then in all three of those instances, Hunter is obviously fighting back the tears. He's very good at keeping it all in.

The few times he has cried were very slient, and he always made sure he was alone in his room whenever there was the rare chance he couldn't hold the tears back. Even when he was alone he wouldn't let himself bawl or anything.

Whenever Hunter does show weakness, it is extremely hard for him. And if unintentionally shows weakness to an enemy, he gets humiliated.

Even now, if Hunter ever cried in front of his friends, he would be terribly ashamed, humilated, and embarrassed about it. (Decomfirmed)

When Hunter was a baby and Belos was holding him, he would pull on his long hair.

Hunter wears gloves to hide scars on his hands. (Decomfirmed)

After Hunter ran away after Hollow Mind, it was the first time he let himself bawl his eyes out, and even then he felt ashamed for letting himself do that. (The ashamed part is probably deconfirmed)

Hunter doesn't have the best relationship with food, and it's not his fault. Belos controlled everything about his diet, from what he could eat and drink, to how much he could eat and drink, to what times he was allowed to eat and drink. Belos would also take away meals as punishment if Hunter messed up. This led to Hunter beileving that food wasn't a right, it was a privilege that could easily be taken away from him. If he was on missions and missed the permitted times he was allowed to eat, he had no choice but to starve until he was allowed to eat again. And due to deadlines and not wanting to displease his uncle, Hunter would also often skip meals to get missions done faster. The diet Belos had set for him wasn't that great either. It was filled with the blandest, most tasteless foods, but since it was all Hunter knew he didn't mind, or even realise how horrible it was. This is why Hunter is scrawny. Hunter also doesn't like telling people that he's hungry out of fear that people will take advantage of him with that knowledge.

Hunter sometimes sticks his tongue through his tooth gap.

Hunter barely survived the mountian trial in his youth. The only reason he did was because Steve saved him from freezing to death. Hunter, to this day, is very thankful for this, but doesn't show it. (Possibly Decofirmed)

He's also genuinely thankful that Luz saved his life from Kikimora in Hunting Palismen, even when he was still The Golden Guard and had distaste for her.

Playing Flyer Derby was the most fun Hunter ever had in his life, and after it, he dreamed of playing it again someday. Often daydreaming about it and making up games and fake scenarios in his head. (Possibly Confirmed)

He also longed to see Willow again after ASIAS, but knew that due to his shifts that that was impossible. This really hurt, and chatting with her on Penstagram was nice, but it wasn't the same.

He found himself more lonely then ever after ASIAS, because he finally knew what having friends and being a kid was like, and he badly wanted that basic witch-to-witch interaction again.

Hunter definitely knows what romantic feelings are, but doesn't know how they feel. And ss Hunter and Willow chatted on Penstagram, Hunter began to develop romantic feelings for her. However, Hunter had absolutely no idea what he was feeling as he had never felt that way before in his life. At first he denied he was feeling anything at all, but as the feelings grew stronger he finally admitted to himself something was up. He thinks something might be wrong with him, like he's fallen ill or has been cursed. He tries to do research on what could be 'wrong' with him, but since he doesn't even know what he's feeling, he can hardly find the right books to get his answers, and he's too embarrassed to ask anyone for help. Even in the present Hunter still doesn't know what he's feeling.

When Willow wasn't online, Hunter stalked her account.

Hunter secretly draws fanart and writes fanfiction for Ruler's Reach. He likes inserting himself into his fanwork and also has a Mary Sue Ruler's Reach OC.

Hunter was VERY upset and disappointed that Ruler's Reach's sequel was cancelled.

Hunter looks back at kidnapping the Flyer Derby team as one of the most embarrassing memories of his life and it keeps him awake at night.

Often, Hunter's only free time was at night after all his shifts for the day were completed. If Hunter wanted to ever have any fun, he was forced to stay up late and lose sleep. He often lost track of time while he read, played with Flapjack, or used Penstagram until he realised it's like 3 in the morning and he was hardly going to get a wink of sleep.

During these times where he would stay up late, Hunter often found himself getting hungry. However, he never went to get himself a midnight snack, knowing that if he got caught, his uncle would brutally punish him. Hunter often slept hungry due to this.

Hunter and Flapjack often cuddle while they sleep. Flapjack likes nuzzling on Hunter's neck if he is sleeping on his side.

Hunter's preferred sleeping position is the fetal position.

Despite being sleep deprived, Hunter has insomia. When he does try and sleep, his racing thoughts often keep him up. His bed at the castle was so uncomfortable it was hard for him to be able to fall asleep, and even if he managed to fall asleep, he'd often wake up in the middle of the night and be unable to fall back asleep as he dreaded the sound of his alarm. Or he would have a nightmare that would end up keeping him awake.

Hunter has always delt with having nightmares often, but after Hollow Mind, they've gotten to a near excruciating level. He has nightmares pretty much every single night, and they're some of the worst nightmares he's ever had in his life. Due to this, despite having all the time in the world to catch up on a lifetime of sleep debt, Hunter is now afraid to sleep and does it as little as he can. This is why he still has bags.

While he was on the run, Hunter was very reluctant to eat out of the garbage, as he thought it was disgusting. He was only able to do it when Flapjack told him it was either food from the garbage or starvation.

While he was on the run, Hunter didn't have enough food to keep himself properly fed. It wasn't exactly quality food either. He ended up losing weight due to the poor nutrition, making him slightly scrawnier then he already was.

Despite trying to use it as an excuse, Hunter was very, very thankful that Gus gave him that sandwich. It was likely the first decent meal he had in days, and one can only imagine how good it felt to finally not be straving with the only food you have was disgusting leftovers from the trash.

Eating nothing but Hex Mix and food from the garbage definitely upset Hunter's stomach and gave him wicked bellyaches.

With this scarcity of food, Hunter often made sure Flapjack was able to eat more then himself, while Flapjack was doing the exact same thing for Hunter.

Hunter found his clothes he wore in Labyrinth Runners while exploring the school at night while nobody was there. He found them when stumbling apon the boy's locker room.

After putting on these clothes Hunter used a fire glyph to burn his Golden Guard Tunic.

In order to get into Hexside, Hunter was forced to use Flapjack to break a window.

If Hunter is human, then most demon realm foods probably are inedible for him. In the human realm, he finds that he deals with less gastrointestinal problems. (Possibly Deconfrimed)

While Hunter is in the human realm, he has a strange sense that's he's been there before.

When Hunter was very little, he called Belos "Unkie".

Hunter has a very deep grudge for Kikimora after Hunting Palismen.

Hunter was sure to take good care of Flapjack back in the castle, and to his surprise, Flapjack did everything he could to take just as good care of him.

Flapjack wants to make and keep Hunter happy. Making him happy is easy, but he never can keep him happy.

Hunter has given Flapjack kisses before and often pets his belly. He likes baby-talking him.

Hunter is very ticklish but didn't know it since nobody had ever tickled him before. He found out when Flapjack accidentally tickled his neck. (The being ticklish part is possibly confirmed)

Hunter often takes better care of Flapjack then himself, so Flapjack often has to remind him to take care of himself too.

Hunter often ignores his own needs for the sake of the people he cares about. He's afraid of burdening them. (Possibly Deconfirmed)

Since Hunter never really had a free will of his own for 99% of his life, when people ask him what he wants, wether it be what he wants to eat for breakfast or where we wants to go out for fun, Hunter gets very overwhelmed and doesn't know how to respond. (Deconfrimed)

Hunter knows his ears turn red when he blushes and has covered his ears in the past to try and hide it.

Zeno Robinson, Hunter's VA, has stated that Hunter's favorite show would be Steven Universe. It's hard to say what his favorite character would be, since he would relate to nearly every Crystal Gem, but his favorite song is That Distant Shore, and his favorite ship is lapidot. He's probably is also a Pink Diamond hater.

Hunter would enjoy heavy metal rock music. He'd also like sad, heavy songs that he can relate to.

When he was the Golden Guard, Hunter's favorite color was yellow, but after Hollow Mind, he no longer knows what his favorite color is.

After a while he realised his favorite color was red.

Hunter was never hugged until Labyrinth Runners. Despite it feeling awkward and embarrassing at the time, ever since Hunter has craved more.

Hunter is EXTREMELY touch starved and loves to be touched by his friends, even though he'd never admit that out of embarrassment.

Hunter is so fearful to tell Willow and Gus he's a grimwalker because he genuinely beileves they will no longer be his friends if they find out. He doesn't want to hide anything from them and feels guilty about it, but he's just too afraid of losing the first friends his age he's ever had. He doesn't want to go through the horrible pain that he'll feel if they betray him, and so he'd rather keep a part of himself secret then risk the pain of that. (Cofirmed)

Hunter has absolutely no idea that there's a chance that Gus might already have a slight idea that Hunter looks just like Caleb.

Hunter's chronic sleep deprivation has led to him making stupid mistakes which caused him punishment from Belos.

Hunter has fallen asleep during meetings before, and this, of course, also led to punishment from Belos.

Hunter only gets an average of 4-5 hours of sleep a night. 6 if he's lucky, and 7 if he's REALLY lucky. Sometimes he doesn't get a single hour of sleep at all. However, he pretty much never gets a full eight hours almost ever.

Hunter was hesitant to trust Darius at first, but has slowly opened up more to him over time. After Hollow Mind, he views him more like a father-figure.

Hunter accidentally called Darius dad once and was extremely embarrassed about it.

There is an existing headcannon that since Hunter is a grimwalker, he can withstand heat a lot more then the average person. So why don't we take this a step further and make it so Hunter is VERY intolerant to the cold. Like it's 65 degrees outside on a autumn day and Hunter is shaking like a leaf because he's freezing. Hunter would hate the colder months due to this.

Hunter would be a massive caffeine addict.

Hunter would be a carb eater. As in most of the foods he likes to eat would be heavy in carbs.

He would also enjoy sweets and meat.

Hunter will blame himself for Flapjack's death.

Hunter is going to be the saddest he's ever been in his life for the next episode.

While he's grieving, he'll struggle to do basic things like attending his bodily needs (like eating drinking and sleeping) and possibly even other things like not keeping up with his hygiene.

Hunter will deeply regret the fact that one of his last interactions with Flapjack was yelling at him

Hunter's eyes are now brown because of Flapjack's eyes.

When Hunter told Luz he was family, he was trying to hold in the tears as much as he could.

Hunter definitely has a crush on Willow.

Hunter really, really likes all animals now, not just palismen.

Hunter wants to help restore the Palistrom trees out of being endangered.

Hunter wants his occupation to be a palisman craver when he is an adult.

Hunter was partially lying when he said all he missed was knowing who he's supposed to be. He knows he shouldn't but part of him still misses his old life as the Golden Guard.

Hunter wants to avenage Flapjack's death.

Hunter has been getting more and more sleep.

It's possible that he's been sleep deprived for so long, that even now when he's been getting more sleep, his bags might never go away

Hunter would've died if it weren't for Flapjack's sacrifice.

Luz and/or Camillia will comfort Hunter in his grief over Flapjack since they know exactly what he's going through.

Hunter was desperately trying to fight off Belos the entire time, and was only able to be able to prevail once Belos made him hurt Flapjack.

Hunter missed Darius while he was trapped in the human realm.

Hunter would stay up late reading that book.

Luz said Hunter was a grimwalker while he was still unconscious, so Hunter has no idea that his friends now know.

Hunter is a loud snorer. He often kept Gus awake at night.

When Hunter was little, he had a heavy lisp.

In the Emperor's Coven, Hunter either was never allowed or didn't even have the option for a snooze button. While on the run, he barely slept due to the insane stress he was under, being paranoid and always wanting to keep watch, and possibly his hunger keeping him up when he did try and sleep After getting trapped in the human realm was really the first time Hunter ever had luxury to get enough sleep. It felt strange and wrong at first, waking up at absurd times in the morning and not understanding why no one was awake, but he slowly grew used to it and grew to really enjoy sleeping in. And if he did have to get up early for whatever reason, he now is a constant snoozer

Hunter is the kinda kid who is "I starve until lunch" in school. He snoozes too much in the mornings and always misses breakfast. Hunter always ends up regretting skipping breakfast, swears to never to it again, and then repeats the cycle the next day. At first, it was rare for Hunter's friends to catch that he was hungry, mainly since Hunter wouldn't say anything, but if they did, they'd always give him a snack. Hunter would always be extremely thankful for this. Eventually, all his friends realize that Hunter never eats in the morning before school, so they all start giving him snacks when he gets to school.

Hunter and Gus went on serveal midnight snack sprees where they raided the fridge at absurd times at night when they were hungry.

I had many thoughts about some specific frames in the Watching and Dreaming trailer. So I needed to write them down.

First off. So we all know The Collector has trapped Luz, Eda and King in some weird dream, right? And one of the first frames we get to back this up is this shot of the Emperor's throne room. The way it shows this scene when an old voice over of Luz saying “from the heart?” Is even better. But something I didn't notice the first time because I was too busy freaking out, was Luz, sitting on Belos' throne. Weird.

And the next shot we get after we see her wandering through the castle, a close up this time which shows Luz dressed in Belos' old outfit from when he was Emperor. I saw a few people thinking it was just a Scout uniform but nope, this is THE Belos outfit, clock, gauntlets and all. And there's definitely a reason behind why she's dressed exactly like Belos, aka, The Collector's weird mind games which I'll explain my theory on this soon.

Then there's King. He isn't in his little outfit The Collector gave him anymore so he's definitely trapped in the weird dream reality he created too. Not much is given away about King's surroundings, whereas it's pretty clear that Luz is in the castle — this shot of King doesn't give much away other than the fact that he looks surprised/scared.

Harpy Eda! Like King we don't get much detail into where she is dream wise, but she looks worried or concerned, maybe she's trying to find King and Luz. I'm pretty sure she manages to find King based on the shot that comes after this (which I forgot to screenshot) where they're both standing together.

Luz again, still in the Belos outfit. But this time Amity's there, maybe somehow she broke through momentarily to deliver the light glyph to Luz to help her break out. She and the others are grabbed and disappear into the sky seconds afterwards. Not sure how they could've managed to break through whatever The Collector did but, I can't wait to find out.

Also this shot. Maybe I should've put this at the start since that's probably where it falls but, this is could be Luz, King and Eda waking up in their dream reality for the first time. Luz definitely looks like she's just woken up, so I'm guessing the shot of her sitting on Belos' throne is what comes next after that.

And the last one I wanted to point out. EDA?? KING?? So it's not clear on the screenshot but the Owl Beast here has MULTIPLE wings, not just two — and King. Well, he looks, older?? His horns and teeth are sharper, his body shape is definitely larger and his eyes are well, it's pretty obvious there's something from with both their eyes. But he's also crying?? Mainly though with this shot all I can think “WHY IS KING ON STEROIDS??”

OK ok so those are the frames that stuck out to me. There was also the one with Belos and Raine but I forgot to put that in but for now, allow me to ramble about my main thoughts. Why Luz wakes up in the castle on Belos' throne, dressed as he was. So my theory on this, which I've seen a few other people note — is that well, since this is all part of The Collector's game, the only reason why is because he put her there in those clothes purposely. The Collector knew Belos/Philip was human, so I'm thinking he's got this idea that all humans are the same — so putting Luz in the same place and same clothes as the one human he'd met who'd betrayed him makes a lot of sense. The Collector doesn't like Belos' for obvious reasons, he doesn't like Luz mostly because she's closer to King and he wants to be King's best friend.

The Collector either has the idea that all humans are selfish and evil like Belos, or he was aware Luz was the one to unintentionally help him and he knew that Luz was dealing with the guilt still from everything that he wanted to make that guilt spiral further. I wouldn't put it past him, but the second idea seems a little less likely since I don't think he would be aware as much as Belos might've gloated about tricking another human into helping him that one time.

That or The Collector decided for the funnies to cast Luz as Belos' role in some weird nightmare or something. Idk.

Another reason that isn't really separate it just adds a little ✨spice✨ is that this is reinforcing more of the Luz & Belos/Philip parallels we've been seeing throughout the show. It might also be pushing for the Hunter & Caleb parallels too, since he's shown to be in his Golden Guard outfit at two different points during the trailer. So we have the sibling duo, it's the Noceda Siblings & Wittebane Brothers parallels I've been waiting for.

Alright I'm done, I just had so many thoughts I needed to put them down. I'm probably going to go insane till April 8th but it'll be worth it, I hope.

From your previous ask, about Hunter: "It especially is good for kid's media because while the clone can struggle with the anxiety of it, their friends never have to actually be bad or discriminatory against them because the point is loving yourself for who you are and not who you were made to be."

Personally I think a story in which the clone's friends become mad/discriminatory after the reveal CAN work, on a condition.

If the clone's original is, in fact, their friend's friend, said friends have all the reasons to be mad/shocked at the clone for essentially taking their place***. The friends would not only have to confront an 'impostor', but also deal with the loss of their 'real' friend, meanwhile also needing to reassure the clone they're still valid as their own person (if they also weren't aware obviously).

All of these conflicting emotions can create some compelling narratives imho, and there's not a 'standard' resolution that makes it all go back to normal.

(Btw it's one of those 'what if' post-story aspects that fascinate me about a certain other animated show's finale)

*** Now that I mention it, there's Vee in TOH. Whose potential is thrown in the garbage in the same episode she gets revealed, since neither Camila nor Luz delve into how messed up it is that someone just took Luz's place, and nobody was too concerned about it

It is absolutely a compelling narrative! It's actually theoretically part of the anxiety that Fallout 4 specifically tries to address with its Synths plot. Robots and automatons who are made to be as close to perfect replicas to the original that only the functions specific to them being robots reveals what they are. Otherwise, they appear to entirely be the person you once knew and even cares about you the same way.

Evil clones or even hypnosis are also one episode concepts that plenty of kid's shows might do to shake things up and mess with the character's heads as suddenly one of them isn't acting in their best interest. Just as a fun fact: I actually did a short lived possession thing where Boscha was consumed by a helpful voice in her head. They pushed her to be nicer, make good even with those who treat her poorly and to also let Luz touch her because she specifically only let Amity do that. She was found out once she consumed Boscha entirely because she doesn't say the F word and in the story she was the only one allowed to say it.

Even the death of one you care about isn't new, either in what you described or in other variants. Many a fantasy villain, especially necromancers, have promised the return of loved ones to them in one way or another, with usually the heroes saying that the version they would create or bring back wouldn't be them or that they wouldn't accept them anymore because accepting the offer is inherently a betrayal of the deceased loved one's morals. Or hell, they DO take it and become a pawn until someone else makes them see reason.

Clones, replacement, etc. like that of characters just has a lot of possibility space which is why they're such a beloved trope that's been work shopped in so many ways. Those who consume more speculative fiction than me have probably WAY more angles and the like than I'm even bringing up here.

Now just to address each: I think Anne being a clone isn't as bad for many because it was effectively a revival. It's still Anne through and through after all so while sure, it's a cloned body, it's kind of implied to still have Anne's soul which makes sense with the Guardian's desire to have her take his position. Can that still have angst in and of itself? ABSOLUTELY. Just dealing with the existential crises of having died at all, or the terror that those around you might of ever having to see that again, is absolutely a thing and its own set of anxieties that would be true without the claim of Anne being a clone.

Meanwhile, Vee doesn't technically lose her potential in Yesterday's Lie. Luz finding her convenient is a good excuse for even the most cynical as to why she doesn't get mad at Vee. I of all people don't even consider it a mark against Luz because she had worried about her mom in the past in this regard so her being relieved that her mom hadn't spent months thinking she was dead is honestly just reasonable. Camila is... More complicated. For the fact that Vee and Camila are both side characters more than anything, I think keeping their relationship was honestly for the best. There's no reason to spend an entire episode making us sympathize with Vee only for her then to be tossed to the side or no longer have a home. Honestly, her potential was likely mostly kneecapped indeed by the shortening but also like... Her having to deal with Luz just stepping back into her place would have probably just been one episode anyways and end with everyone happy and okay with it, or claiming they need time but then being immediately fine anyways, because that's just how this show deals with the vast majority of its more complex issues. Anne holds a grudge against Hop Pop about the musical box longer than anyone holds a grudge in TOH. Well, except maybe Luz against herself.

But yeah, clones, bodysnatchers, etc. like that are just really neat because they deal with some really primordial fears we have as a species which makes their potential close to unlimited so long as you're willing to actually do something with them.

Edric and Emira didn't care at first, but it started to get tiring listening to them, and they knew Amity was getting tired of it too.

The purple haired witch looked like she was about to blow a fuse. Odalia had called Amity into her room for something while the twins sat on the couch.

They could hear yelling coming from their mothers room, followed by a loud slam as Amity burst out the doors.

They turned to look at her. "Hey, Mittens-" Edric started, but was quickly cut off by Amity, "What do you want?" She snapped, her eyes blazing with anger.

The twins seemed taken aback by her reaction, "Are you okay?" Emira asked. Amity rolled her eyes, "Oh, yes, everything is just perfect!" She spat, storming off to her room.

The twins gave each other a concerned glance before following after Amity. They stopped at her door, hesistating before Emira opening it.

Amity was sitting on her bed, messing with her hair. She had kicked her trashcan over and threw papers on her desk onto the floor.

Emira opened the door a bit wider, catching Amity's attention, "Get out." She muttered. They stepped into her room, "We just want to see how you're doing." Edric said.

Amity sighed, looking away from them as they stepped closer to her bed. They propped themselves onto her bed, Emira sitting on the left and Edric sitting on the right, leaving Amity in between them.

Emira scooted a bit closer to her, smiling as Amity leaned on her shoulder. "What did mom need now?" Edric asked.

Amity bit her lip, "She claimed my choice in friends was embarrassing her and ruining her reputation. But it doesn't even make sense! Luz and them haven't done anything to her!" She spat, her eyes glowing with anger.

Emira frowned, "Just calm down. It'll be okay." She said. "Will it?" She glared at Emira before looking away and relaxing again.

Edric glanced at his little sister before at Emira. Emira met his glance, shrugging at him.

He looked away for a second, thinking before glancing back at Emira, his eyes bright. He pointed at Amity before wiggling his fingers at Emira.

She blinked in confusion before eventually catching on, her eyes bright as she nodded. They both looked back down at Amity.

"Are you still mad?" Edric asked. Amity just stared at the wall, "Yes." She muttered, her gaze cold.

"Huh, too bad. Welp, I guess we gotta make you feel better!" Emira said. Amity looked up, confused before squeaking as Emira squeezed her sides.

She bit her lip, scooting away from Emira. She froze as she felt herself bump into something. Edric grinned, grabbing her and poking her ribs.

Amity bit down harder on her lip, her face going bright red. Emira chuckled as she scooted closer.

Amity tried to squirm away, but Edric held her still. "Y'know, Mittens, you really need to laugh more." Emira said, scribbling her fingers over her belly and squeezing her sides while Edric squeezed her ribs.

Amity shook her head, "Noho- ihi DohOHNT!" She said, suddenly squealing as she felt Edric do a raspberry on her ear.

"AHANOHO!" She tried to shove him away, only pushing herself closer to Emira, who grinned and squeezed her ribs.

"QuiHit iIhit!" She said, trying to squirm away. She felt Edric squeeze her sides from behind her, getting another squeak out of her before bursting into more giggles.

The twins just cooed at her, causing her face to get redder as she got all flustered. Edric hummed, "I dont think this is enough. She's giggly, but she still looks mad." He said.

Emira grinned, "Guess we'll just have to take it up a notch!" She said. Confusion hung in Amity's eyes before she squeaked as Emira exposed her belly.

"Wait! Yohou dont have to do that!" She said, chucking nervously. Emira shrugged, "I dont have to, but I want to!" She said, taking in a breath and blowing a raspberry onto Amity's stomach.

Amity squealed, bursting into loud, snorty giggles. "NOHoHO!*snort* CUHuHut Ihit OHOOUT!" She tried to cast a spell, but she could hardly focus on anything.

"IHim GohONHAHA-!" She burst into another fit of squeals as Edric blew a raspberry on her ear.

"You're gonna what?" He said, raising an eyebrow, "We can't understand you if you keep giggling!" He teased.

They both chuckled as Amitys face got redder. She kicked her legs around, but it was no use.

Emira grinned at her, "Okay, there's just one more thing we want to do." She said, winking at Edric.

Amity tried to catch her breath, about to ask her what she meant before squeaking as she felt Edric lift her arms above her head, holding them still.

Amity froze, "No! We can talk about this, right?" She asked, a nervous grin on her face. Emira shrugged, simply placing her fingers on Amity's underarms.

She purposely twitched her fingers, elicting small giggles from Amity. "We could talk about it, but you'd probably go back to being grumpy, and we can't have that!" She said.

Without warning, she dug her fingers into Amitys underarms, scratching and scribbling her fingers around.

Amity immediately burst into very loud, snorty, and hiccupy giggles, desperately trying to squirm away.

"Whats the matter? Can't handle it?" Emira teased. Amity didn't respond, just looking away, her face a deep red.

Tears pricked the corners of her eyes, and soon, the twins realized they needed to stop. Emira lifted her hands, and Edric let her arms go.

Amity immediately hugged herself, still giggling as she caught her breath. The twins just smiled and snuggled beside her.

To their surprise, she didn't try and push them away. She leaned into them, closing her eyes, her face still red.

"You feeling better now?" Edric asked. Amity nodded, "Yeheah, thanks you two." She said, snuggling closer to them.

"Good. Just know, next time you're upset, we'll have to do it again!" Emira said, giving Amity a poke.

Amity let out more giggles at the poke, squirming a bit. "Are you sensitive now?" She teased.

Amity rolled her eyes, "Shut up." She muttered, but she had a grin on her face. They all three sat in silence, enjoying eachothers presence.

It was quiet and calm. Amity loved when things were like this, if helped her relax. Surprisingly, her siblings were helping her feel better, too.

Amity glanced at them and realized they were both asleep. She smiled and just leaned back, closing her eyes.

Sometimes, she wondered where she'd be without these two amazing idiots.

A/n: Eugh I'm not that happy with this but this is the best it's going to be. Also, I didn't change the character's names. Everyone is human but it would be odd to have them refer to themselves in the 3rd person

Recently you and your friend, Luz had been selected to play in a new show "The Owl House." Which was pretty exciting for both of you. You meant while working on a project around a year ago. But neither of you have been in any of the same projects since.

The first day of filming was surely an experience. It was the first highly fantasy-themed show you were on. But it was honestly a lot of fun! Amity was A LOT nicer off set. Honestly you tell this was going to be one of the best shows to act in.

------------------------------------Time skip to after (filming) the final---------------------------------------------

Listen, you've heard of actors getting attached to their characters. Hell, You've become attached to a few of yours! But never to this degree. You just got done filming the final. You knew a lot of what was going to happen. You were a secondary main character! But god did it hit so much harder to have it acted out! Kinda...

It hit so much harder post editing. You, Luz, Eda, and The Collector, couldn't help during Luz's death. It's kinda hard to be taken seriously when you're in the air wearing a green full bodysuit. Luz didn't really seem to be in the know for much of the final. She seemed really shocked when she learned of her death. Once the hilarity of the situation wore off Luz's performance was tear jerking.

Also the rest of the hex squad had very different opinions being somewhat whatcast to the side for the episode. Amity was upset despite being the main character's girlfriend having a minor role. Hunter on the other hand seemed relieved to just have a break. After around a week you and your fellow actors got an interview. But we'll be focusing on your friends here.

What were the hardest scenes to act in? Luz: Scenes with Hooty aren't hard in the traditional sense. But have you ever had to talk to people holding up a giant paper mache bird and keep a straight face?

Eda: Having to do magic in earlier seasons wasn't fun. You think it's going to be easy to just move your hands in a big circle! But no, the circle was too big! Listen as sad as it was, I'm happy I lost my magic.

Collector: That stupid star. Flying on what I think was weirdly strong cardboard was not comforting. Also any scenes that I had to "Fly" in were weird.

Amity: The puppet scene Staying completely still sounds easy. But you move a lot more than you realize.

Hunter: The possessed scene, do I need to say more?

For Eda, Collector and Hunter, how long does getting ready to look like the character take?

Eda: Wasn't that hard early on just throw on some white body paint and contacts. By the end it wasn't much different, just one different contact and special effects on my arm.

Collector: Face paint doesn't take that long. Though making the freckles can be a bit of a chore.

Hunter: The one scar was already annoying having to make sure it was in the same spot and all. But having six more? Eugh.

And lastly how do you feel about how the fandom feels about your character?

Luz: It's nice she's so well liked. But I wish people would stop making her oblivious and stupid! She's honestly really smart! But once you don't realize your past rival has a crush on you, you're suddenly the dumbest person alive.

Eda: You are all weird but not wrong and that's all I'm saying.

Collector: It was cool to become a fan favorite even when I was only speaking and not on screen. It is kinda funny seeing how many people thought I was actually evil-evil though.

Amity: Not much to say, the fans are cool, and the people who aren't seem to be pretty civil.

Hunter: A lot of you are cool! You also seem to reduce me to my trauma, but still cool.

God, WorstTimeline! Darius finding Jasper's freshly killed body makes me so feral. Legitimately drives me up the wall how good it is.

He feels like he shouldn't mourn this man- he hurt Hunter countless times!!! His SON!

And he's not the same Jasper who used to smile and squeak whenever he saw a baby. It's not the same Jasper he used to be friends with, and he knows that. But at the same time... his heart hurts. Because even if he hasn't been the same in 16 years, it's still Jasper. He's dead now and even though Darius hates him for what he's done, he still had so many memories with him. He still loves the part of him that's long since gone away.

And between the mound of corpses, torn-up Golden Guard capes, and masks around Jasper, plus all the Grimwalker-related stuff that happened leading up to that, I have a feeling he'd start to piece some very important things together.

Maybe he wonders if Jasper knew about the graveyard, maybe he wonders how bad things truly were for Jasper in the castle for him to change so dramatically so quickly. He wonders whether the tears on his face are from his injuries or from something else.

But he never knows anything for sure because Jasper is gone.

I'm screaming.

I'm OBSESSED with it personally.

He stumbles on this still warm body of a man he once loved and he's just gone. It's too late to ever know what happened or why. But he knows a few things now.

He knows what Luz told everyone. He knows Belos was a 400 year old human witch hunter. He knows he's been working on the draining spell for lifetimes to try and kill everyone. He knows that jasper had served Belos for decades. He knows that they are surrounded by bodies, they are surrounded by masks, so many that it doesn't make sense for four hundred years. He knows that jasper was a Grimwalker. He knows that hunter is a Grimwalker. He knows that jasper changed the same night that hunter was born. He knows that jasper was unbelievably cruel to hunter and yet the last time he saw him alive jasper told him that unless he got Hunter back, hunter was going to die. He knows that jasper knew the draining spell was going to kill everyone because HE knew the draining spell was going to kill everyone. He knows that jasper could have killed him a few days prior at the school, and didn't. He knows that there's no record of jasper existing before the previous golden guard died. He knows that jasper used to adore kids and suddenly he's beating this kid regularly, and yet when he fights Darius at the school he says that Hunter is the only thing he cares about, and he won't let anything, even Darius, get in the way of saving him.

And he knows he's dead.

And despite knowing ALL of that... He still doesn't know anything. He can make guesses. He can fill in blanks. He can make assumptions. But he can't ever know. Jaspers here and he's dead and he's still warm.

And of course when hunter gets back and tells Darius after jaspers dying words to him, his half lucid "my baby" touching his face, saying that he's proud of him... That he heel turned the second he realized Belos had no intention or even way to save Hunter from the draining spell, that he attacked Belos on the spot and then jumped over the side after him when Belos blasted Hunter off the side. That he died to save his life and then used the last of his strength to teleport hunter back up to his friends before he laid there and died alone in the dark.

What could he POSSIBLY fucking think at that point. He has all these pieces and none of them quite fit together. Jaspers dead and he's gone and Darius is never going to be able to ask him whys

Due to some changes in his routines, Gus' first weekend in the Human Realm doesn't start as well as he had hoped.

Gus can’t sleep anymore. He’s been staring up at the ceiling, alone with only his thoughts. It’s been nearly a week since they’ve escaped to the Human Realm and adapted to the ways of human life. Despite what happened, his mind fortunately has been easily distracted with all the human stuff stored in Camila’s basement. He always knew that, much like witches, humans like to have at least one room to store their treasures in. It brings him a sense of comfort, being surrounded by human treasures where he sleeps, since it’s not unlike the state of his own bedroom.

He glances at the blue clock hung on the wall across from him; it’s nearly seven in the morning. He sighs. He could use some company right now, but he knows it'll be a while before everyone else wakes up. He turns to see Hunter sleeping, curled into himself with his hands tucked under his chin. Gus frowns, seeing how his friend has the need to constantly protect himself even in his sleep. Hunter usually wakes up early, but he’s been slowly trying to allow himself more sleep under Camila’s roof, which Gus is grateful for. He certainly needs to catch up with his lack of rest, and Gus certainly can handle going another fifteen minutes without anyone to talk to or anything to do.

He certainly can not.

He throws his blanket away and sits up, grabbing his socks at the end of the couch and slips them on. He learned that wearing socks helps muffle the sounds of one’s footsteps — as he’s been using this technique every time he sneaks out of his room in the middle of the night, careful not to wake up his sleeping dad.

He hears the faint pitter-patter of Emmiline’s footsteps, who makes her way up his back and settles on his shoulder. He smiles at her and scratches her head with a finger, mouthing ‘good morning’ as she chirps. He grabs his blue jacket and quietly leaves the basement.

A delicious smell almost immediately hits him as he closes the door. He walks over to the kitchen to see Camila up and about, as expected. She’s always up much earlier to prepare breakfast for the kids while getting ready for work, making sure everyone can sustain themselves while she’s away. Much like Dad, he thinks.

Camila must have sensed his presence, as she had turned around to greet him. “Oh, Gus! Good morning, mijo.”

Gus still doesn’t know much Spanish, but he has been around the Nocedas long enough to know that she’s calling him a term of endearment. “Good morning, Camila.”

“Come, sit.” She says, almost as if she knew he was heading out and stopped him for a chat. Again, just like Dad. “How come you’re up so early on a Saturday morning?” 

Gus knows how to cut a talk short with his dad, who seems to enjoy dragging out a conversation long enough when he’s in a hurry; but Camila is not his dad, so he obliges and sits on one of the kitchen chairs.

“Oh, I just couldn’t sleep anymore, so I thought I’d get out. Y’know, find something better to do than stare holes into the ceiling.” He says. He’s not completely lying; he needs something better to do than lying on the couch and doing nothing. He leans over a little to peek at what’s in the frying pan. “What are you making?”

“I’m preparing my special los tres golpes today, it’s one of Luz’s favorites. The mangú ’s almost ready.” She turns to him with a challenging grin. “I hope you can handle some spice.”

“Don’t worry, I handle spicy food all the time.” Gus declares proudly with a hand on his chest.

“Then what say you take the honor of being the first among your friends to taste it?” Camila has been encouraging him and his friends to eat more spicy food, but she always has something non-spicy prepared for the ones who can’t handle it at all. Gus, for one, likes to test his own limits and eat more than he can take, and it got concerning one time.

He throws a glance at the clock: 7 A.M.. His stomach churns in anticipation. Normally, he’d be having breakfast with his dad, and then he’d wait for Mattholomule, but the thought of food right now only makes him sick. “I’d usually be up for such a challenge, but I think I’ll save this one for when the others are here.” He says, giving himself as much grace as he can for someone who just passed on a challenge. He spots a notebook on the table and reaches out to grab it. Flipping through it, he sees that the pages are empty. 

“Alright, I can appreciate that.” Camila says in a playful manner. She then grabs a plate of food on the counter and places it on the dining table in front of Gus. “Would you like some tostones then? Careful, they’re still hot.”

Gus is cornered; he can tell her ‘No, sorry, I’m feeling sick right now,’ and save himself from a stomach ache, but he ends up taking one out of politeness. He hums at the taste — crispy with a distinct savory flavor. If he weren’t feeling sick, maybe he would enjoy it to its full potential. “Mmm, this is good! It’s like none of your dishes ever come out bad.” He praises. 

Camila chuckles at his words. “Oh, you flatterer. Go, have some more if you like it. There’s still a lot left for your friends.” Gus decides he should cut in.

“Thanks, Camila, but, I think I’m gonna go for a walk.” He swiftly takes the notebook under one arm and gets up from the chair. 

“Oh, well, be careful! It just stopped raining a while ago.”

“I will, thanks.”

It’s nearly nine in the morning. The household has properly woken up; the smell of fried breakfast and the sound of Camila’s favorite tunes fill the air. They gather around the kitchen and help set the table for breakfast. 

“So, since it’s your first weekend in the human realm, why don’t we go somewhere today?” Camila suggests. “I think it would be good for you kids to properly know the area if you’re staying here for a while.”

“Where would we go?” Willow asks.

“There’s the park.” Vee suggests, yawning as she takes a seat with them. “I think there’s a fair being held right now, though I can’t remember if it was today or tomorrow.” She fishes out her phone and scrolls aggressively.

“A fair at the park! Ooh, sounds wonderful! I’m not sure what events you kids have in the Demon Realm, but you must attend a human fair at least once.” Camila claps her hands enthusiastically. “I bet you’d love the ri—”

“No, we can’t be wasting time like this.” Luz cuts in. “We have to figure out how to get to the Demon Realm again. I’ve spent the weekdays going back to school and catching up on homework, and now that I have the time to be here, I have to start trying again.” Camila frowns.

“You mean, we have to try, Luz.” Amity corrects her, a firm hand on Luz’s shoulder. 

The sound of the basement door is faintly heard, followed by footsteps to the kitchen. Soon enough, Hunter emerges from the hallway, looking dazed with his hair messily tousled about.

“Hunter! You’re finally awake. How was your sleep?” Camila greets him.

His eyes barely meet hers. “It’s—” He scans the table and furrows his brows in confusion. “Where’s Gus?”

Willow blinks. “He’s not with you?”

“No. He wasn’t on the couch when I woke up.”

“He said he was going for a walk, but..” Camila looks at the clock. “That was two hours ago.”

“Do you think he got lost?” Amity asks.

“He’s actually kind of prone to it.” Willow says, already getting up from her chair.

“He.. actually seemed jittery earlier this morning. I thought he was just tired and a little sick, but it’s like he’s aching to get out immediately.” Camila eyes Luz. “Perhaps this is a significant, hard day for him?”

“Well, we don’t know, but we have to find him before he gets into trouble.” Hunter urges, following Willow out the door. 

“Or before he accidentally eats something he shouldn’t.” Vee mutters under her breath as she gets up, thinking back to when Gus ate one of their DVDs.

Luz gets up with Amity until Camila stops her; Amity gives her a look that tells her ‘I’ll be outside’ and leaves the Nocedas alone.

“Luz,” Camila starts. Luz watches as her mom opens her mouth a couple times, waiting with bated breath for what she’s about to say, but no words come out. At last, she simply says, “We’ll find him, okay? Gus will be alright.”

Luz smiles and puts a hand over Camila’s. “I know, Mamá. Gus may be the youngest out of all of us, but he’s a real crafty witch.” She throws in a wink. Reassured, Camila smiles at her and lets her daughter go.

They agree to split up and meet back in thirty minutes at most. Willow says she’ll search the graveyard nearby with Hunter accompanying her, while Amity suggests a library. Vee ends up going with her, having known the area and human culture a lot better; she can make sure Amity doesn't get in trouble. Normally, Luz would have gone with her girlfriend, but she has an inkling as to where Gus might be — and she thought it’d be better for him if she came alone.

If Luz were him, she’d want to be as close to her home as possible.

The door of the old, abandoned house, the same one that was once a portal between two realms, is slightly ajar. The interiors are a work in progress; while Luz and Vee have been away at school, the Hexsquad worked together in making the house less abandoned and more habitable for their planning. It still needs some polishing, but the area is mostly comfortable for now.

Gus Porter is sitting up against the wall with his knees pulled in, holding a pencil and drawing on the notebook in his lap. A couple of illusions are propped up and presented in front of him for reference: a diorama of the illusionist graveyard, a couple of animated witches, and visualizations of his new idea for a defense strategy. Usually, he’d have Mattholomule to talk to about his ideas, throwing suggestions (and often playful banters) back and forth like hot stone. But, this time, Gus is planning all by himself — not at the graveyard, not with Mattholomule.

Unless..

He twirls his finger and, with ease, creates a perfect illusion of Mattholomule. Gus has always prided himself on getting the details of his models correctly. Mattholomule, however, is one of his best models; He remembers the rogue strand of hair on the left side of his bangs, the way his eyes squint when he’s smiling, the few faint freckles on his face — it’s not hard to notice the small things about Mattholomule.

Gus has a record of annoying him with illusions of the shorter witch, but Gus can tell he’s impressed at the attention to detail. “Bah, you probably forgot to include my fangs.” He had denied, only to be proven wrong by Gus making the illusion open his mouth, showing a row of teeth; there, hung a pair of fangs, one of them positioned at a slightly weird angle. A perfect replica of the original. “Wow.” Mattholomule had breathed out, unable to mask his obvious fascination. Gus had been proud.

He has practiced making illusions of Mattholomule; he doesn’t know why or how Mattholomule becomes his go-to for idle illusion creating, but he likes to conclude it’s purely because Mattholomule’s such an interesting model to practice with. Now, an illusion of the sane witch is currently sitting next to him, not unlike the ones he’s created in the past. He’s wearing the same yellow shirt (along with the stupid belt, Gus thinks) he had donned when they first went to the graveyard. Gus smiles fondly at the memory. It was awkward, but it led to something better — whatever it is they have got going on right now.

Illusion Mattholomule turns to him and blinks. Gus grins — he likes to think of him as cat-like at times, with how entitled and bossy he can be, yet also sweet and caring when he needs to be. Gus knows just what to do. He twirls his finger again and laughs at the sight: Mattholomule with cat ears and whiskers.

“The real Matty would never let me do this.” He muses as Mattholomule violently swipes at his fuzzy ears.

“Get this shit off of me, Porter, I swear—” He hisses.

Yeah, he so would kill me for this , Gus thinks fondly.

“Why? I think you look adorable.”

“I am anything but adorable, and you know it.”

“Do you prefer Cat-tholomule or Mattholomew?”

“I’m going to bite your face off,”

“Yeah, right, it’s not like—” Gus trails off. It’s not like you can actually touch me. His smile falters. You’re just an illusion of my friend. My friend who’s not here, and is probably trying to stay alive back in the Demon Realm while you’re wasting time in the beloved Human Realm. He might be d—

“Okay, Matty, enough playing around. We have new designs to go over.” Gus declares, picking up his notebook and scooting closer to the illusion of his friend. He props the notebook up on his lap and reveals the sketches he just did, flipping through the pages and randomly deciding on one design to go over. “Where were we.. Alright. So, last time you—”

Creak. Gus looks up in alert. A silhouette stands at the door, which is wide open. His voice is stuck in his throat, and the creak remains loud echoing in his ears. The tension immediately leaves his shoulders, however, as the silhouette steps forward, relaxing once he realizes who it is. “Oh, hey, Luz.” He smiles faintly. “You’re up already.”

“Hey, buddy.” She says, taking a seat on the ground next to him. He scoots over to give her room, realizing the illusions have disappeared as soon as he panicked. It has its perks; he’s not sure how Luz would feel if she saw Cat-tholomule either. Luz crosses her legs and looks at him. “Everyone’s looking for you.”

A sense of reality strikes his mind. He glances at the bright scenery behind the door; the sky had been a shade of gray earlier when he entered the house, but the yard is now properly basked in bright yellow sunlight.

Oh. Has he been gone for that long?

“I told Camila I was going for a walk.” He says, resting the notebook down against his lap. 

“Yeah, well, a two hour walk means you're either super sporty—” She lifts an arm and taps on her bicep — an attempt to lighten the mood up, he thinks, because as soon as she puts it down, she gives him a look he recognises; she’s going into Talk To Me mode. “Or, something’s bothering you.”

There it is. Gus remains quiet and looks back at his drawing, hand gripping his pencil a little harder. He’s not sure how he’s feeling, but he can recognize when he’s not feeling his best. Luz must have noticed, because she’s scooting closer and leaning slightly to see the drawing on his lap. “What’cha drawing?”

“Just some trap designs!” Gus cringes slightly at how much louder his voice came out than expected, and lifts the notepad from his lap to give her a better look at the drawings. It looks like pieces of a blueprint sketched on a small notebook — complete with the calculations, maps, and scalings. “Here, this one’s new.” He flips through a few pages forward and points at one of the bigger drawings on the corner of the page. “It’s supposed to be an area of the forest covered in a big illusion that leads scouts and unwanted witches astray from the graveyard, chasing their own tails. It’s psychological horror! It’d take a lot out of me, but we haven’t got to actually apply the design, because..” He makes a vague gesture with his hand that implies where they currently are.

“Who’s.. we?” Luz asks.

“Mattholomule!”

“Mattholomule?!” Luz exclaims in disbelief, an incredulous look on her face. 

Gus scratches his head, smiling sheepishly. “Right, I haven’t told you about it since you’ve been away.” He pulls his knees in closer. “Remember that day you sent me off with Bria and the other Glandus kids?” He says.

“Oh! The pretty girl with purple hair, right?'' He lightly cringes at the memory of his brief crush on her.

“Right. Well, turns out she's not that great.” He says regretfully. “She’s been awful to Mattholomule for years, and as soon as I tried to stop her from stealing the Galdorstones from the graveyard, she and her friends turned on me. She didn’t even hesitate to sell me out to face the warden alone!”

Luz furrows her brows and squares up her shoulders, pulling up the sleeves of her jacket menacingly. “Oh if I ever see that witch again—” She makes a punching gesture with her fist, causing Gus to chuckle at her antics. 

“But, thanks to her, Mattholomule and I found a common ground. And we became.. Kind-of-friends?” He raises an eyebrow, confused by his own relationship with the other witch. “It’s just— we dedicated the weekends to go to the illusionist graveyard together, clean up what mess had been made and also improve its defenses. We’d spend hours there, planning and exhausting ourselves with our magic, but it’s fun!”

He flips through the notebook again, revealing a couple other trap designs that they’ve tried out in the past. “It was Mattholomule’s idea to come back.” He remembers fondly. “He’s actually surprisingly good company when he's not making a total jerk out of himself, and it's really cool to see him in his element when he's doing construction magic.” His eyes twinkle as he rambles. “Oh, man. Luz, you should have seen the things he did in the graveyard. It’s fascinating.”

He smooths out the page of the notebook. There’s a small doodle of Mattholomule in the corner, the word ‘jerkface’ scribbled above his head. On another corner, there’s a couple of better looking sketches of the same witch’s face. One of them looks realistic enough that he might climb out of the page and start tackling Gus himself, both laughing as they topple over each other. His hand trembles. “It’s.. a shame not many people see him that way — and, that includes himself, unfortunately.” 

Luz smirks, eyeing the little details Gus had nailed in the sketches. “Wow, you two really bonded that day in that graveyard, huh?” She muses. They did. His chest rumbles. He turns his head away from Luz — attempting to casually wipe something off his face. They did bond and Gus saw something fascinating behind the asshole he first met. They bonded and for once, he doesn’t feel like a loser.

They bonded and for once, he felt understood.

A choked sob escapes his throat.

“Oh, no, Gus—”

Gus tries to hold his breath in an attempt to shove more sobs down his throat, only to continue sobbing and failing embarrassingly. “I— he—” 

Luz quietly puts an arm around him, who immediately turns and curls into the hug. His whole body jolts along with each sob that escapes his throat. She rubs his arm and pulls him in closer, suddenly reminded of how small he is. He tries to wipe off his face, heavily aware of how gross he’s being right now.

“I’m suh– supposed to see him. I— I’ve never been uh-away.” He says between his sobs. “We always— we always went. But I can’t— go today. I don’t know if I ever will again. I don't even know if he's okay.” If he's alive . He curls further in Luz’s arms at the thought; he had stored the idea on the highest and farthest shelf at the back of his mind; yet, he can’t escape the idea of his friend possibly dying and Gus isn’t around to do anything to prevent it. 

Luz tries using the sleeve of her jacket to wipe his tear streaked face. “Hey, we’ll find a way back, okay?” She says with a sure smile. Gus isn’t ultimately convinced, but he can sense that she’s trying to be her usual uplifting self. He forces a weak smile at his friend, not wanting to burden her more.

“I know, Luz.” He sniffles, messily rubbing his face with his sleeve before nodding at her. “You’re right.”

She smiles at him and squeezes him in the hug a little too hard, pulling him over to her side and nearly toppling over her. “Luz!” He yelps, both laughing as Luz gives him a light noogie on the head — well, as light as a Noceda Noogie can go.

“Alright, Gusteban. We should head back before my mom starts putting up missing posters.” She pulls away, letting Gus clean his own face up. “We’re also going to the park today. Vee said there’s a fair being held,” She leans in, voice dropping to a whisper, “that’s where we get the cotton candies.”

Gus’ whole face lights up. He didn’t believe it when Luz explained to him the concept of cotton candy; there’s no way sugar can take the form of a cloud and just dissipate when water hits it. He has never heard of such alchemy. How does that even work? He has no idea, but he’s about to find out.

“Well let’s go! What are we waiting for?” He declares; Luz chuckles as she gets up on her feet. Gus picks up the notebook and the pencil, giving his drawing of Mattholomule one last look. “I’ll see you soon, jerkface.” He whispers, before closing the book and joining Luz outside. He closes the door and notices the grin on Luz’s face. “What?” He chuckles nervously.

“Nothing.” She says in a sing-song voice; Gus joins her side, a suspicious look on his face. He takes one last glance back at the abandoned house before they walk back to Luz’s house, where Camila is waiting.

Luz throws him a grin more suspicious than the last.

“So.. You and Mattholomule, huh?”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

Okay, NOW everything is out of my system... probably:

Amity: "But no more hiding, okay?" (Thank to Them, towards the end of the episode)

Oh, Amity... this is the third time you've been through this with Luz.... she's going to do it again by not telling you Hunter knew her secret way before you, her literal girlfriend, did. Luz will not tell her unless she's put into a situation so out of control that she has to tell her. Most of the time these situations are of her own creation.

But yeah... she's going to do it again because she has yet to receive a reaction so negative it forces her to change her mindset... Amity is still way too nice about this problem lol.

If I was Amity i wouldn't tolerate Luz's nonsense anymore. I mean, if you've told your significant other many times that you'll help them if they just tell you what's bothering them and they still choose to keep secrets from you, wouldn't you feel a certain type of way?

From her POV it makes no sense why Luz would trust Hunter over her. This kid was her enemy not too long ago... and you know, Luz and Amity are literal girlfriends. Isn't that just weird? What is it about Hunter that makes him more trustworthy?

Again, I want to bring attention back to the bathroom scene with Hunter and Luz in Thanks to Them. Throughout the series, whenever Luz has an intense emotional upset, she doesn't tell anyone about it even if they ask. She'll be vague, make something up, and/or tell them not to worry about it.

She does this with her mom even though Camila is a supportive and loving parent, she does this to Eda even though Eda established herself as a guardian who can give her great advice in the second episode of the series. I don't have any specific examples for Gus and Willow besides Thanks to Them - but yeah, she never tells them even though they are her best friends who will always have her back.

This is something that permeates all of her relationships - besides hers and Hunter's. For some reason she doesn't try blocking him out by being vague, making something up, and/or telling him not to worry when he asks her how she feels after the events of Hollow Mind.

Which is insane lol

And it's because Hunter knew her secret and chose to keep it to himself - he never ratted her out and he doesn't hate her for her mistake. That's why she trusts him so much.

Like... oh my god... Luz trusts someone who was her enemy more than her girlfriend who made it clear numerous times that she'll listen to and help Luz with her problems... or her best friends who will always have her back no matter what...

They are so crazy for this.

Hahah, figures Lilith would love being back in school. Also, interesting way of seeing how Eda would usually mix her magic.

You know, I'm getting a feeling that this show doesn't really have villains. Just people. People in villainous roles, yes, but who always have their reasons, and really see themselves as heroes of their own story. Like. Pretty much everyone has shown different sides to them. I love it.

"Just put him... -out of his misery? Got it. -to sleep dude, to sleep!" Yeesh, somebody's eager... Also, with the context of what Hunter is, creepy!

Gus has to learn that he's not dumb. And to not listen to the voices in his head.

I've been thinking about the "Making those things just to destroy them" line to Belos. Because it's true. The "kid" Belos was leading Luz and Hunter exactly to the memories that would almost certainly shake Hunter's belief and make him betray Belos. Damn.

Also, the name "grimwalker" suggests some sort of necromancy to me...

Episode 19: Titan Where Art Thou

Gosh, you guys had years to analyze and speculate, I only have days, okay?! But my speculations have been pretty accurate so far, so. Shrug.

Raine destroying Eda's arm so that she lives, but also so that she can practice wild magic... Because they wanted to keep her safe and also promised Luz... Augh... But also I know in my heart of hearts that Eda is going to have the coolest collection of hooks. Once everyone lives and everything is ok. Right???????

About the Collector: I liked his shadow design much better, but oh well. What does he even collect? Also, note to self: a chaotic neutral with enough power might be functionally indistinguishable from a chaotic evil.

Ok, I've been thinking about what Belos said - that it "hurts every time" the grimwalkers decide to betray him, and also that he "doesn't want more people corrupted by this land". So I'm thinking: the "original" Hunter, whoever he was (brother?) and Philip disagreed on the whole witch hunting thing, and... Something happened, whether it was his intention or not. I've also been thinking about grimwalkers, and the lines "you were the most similar of them all", and "many of my ancestors didn't have magic" - if there is variation in looks and in powers, then I'm thinking that it might not be a case of straight-up necromancy or test tubes, but somehow... Transforming existing witches? Might be easier than creating one from scratch... Idk, I'm just spitballing here.

I'm probably gonna make a separate post about this, but wow this show is. Very good. Especially with developing every single even slightly important character, and giving them an interesting dynamic with the rest of the group. I was thinking about the kids that got sent to the Human Realm, and whether there was anyone there who hasn't interacted with each other... And the only thing I can really think of is Gus and Amity? But otherwise, they all have an interesting dynamic/relationship. I even see some possible interactions with Hunter and Vee, if they have time for it. Just... Man. This show is good. Also, it subverted my expectations so many times. I was like "in any other show, this would not have happened", but it did!!!

I love this show. I'm gonna watch Good Omens 2, but after that passes, I will watch the 3-part finale, and let myself actually join the fandom. Better late than never, eh?

Added later: Ok, now that the GO2 phase has died down, I think I'm gonna watch s3 soon.

Two hours passed since I watched the TOH season 2 finale. There was a lot to take in. The fandom is probably discussing season 3 but season 2 only now became available in my country and that's why I'm only talking about it now.

Here are my thoughts about TOH season 2 in no particular order:

I strive for a friendship like the kind Lilith and Hooty have

Showing that the Golden Guard acts like a teenager is the best they could have done after revealing that he is a teenager

Speaking of Hunter: It was so great to see him in a team

And caring about Flapjack. What a duo

I love the filter they used on the voice with the diaries

When Hooty ate the letter I got soo mad

I really wanted to punch our favourite tube demon in that moment

But only in that moment because he does care about his residents

I wish we learned more about Gus. I want to learn more about him

His despair when the illusions kick in

Calling himself dumb because "ge should have known" even though he was supposed to be the smart guy

Why do some witches have these magic "boosts"? Gus' eyes turn blue and he is in an illusion. Willow's eyes turn green and ranks appear out of the ground. Why is that? Will we get an explanation to this? It only happened with a specific type of magic

I knew Belos was Phillip when he said he was in the human realm and then proceeded to talk about how nice it is there. Added with the diary entry of Phillip talking about the reflections of the lake, my beliefs only grew stronger

RAINE! RAINE WHISPERS! I like them so much. They don't really seem like a rebel because of their stage freight but they nail it.

Raine's Rhapsody. Eda's Requiem. That... That episode did something to me emotionally. Like someone poked at my heart.

I am more invested in adult characters in cartoons if they are established well. So Raines is an awesome addition

Raine and Eda are star-crossed lovers. I don't know how often I said it while watching the series. They are. They are so beautiful. They care so much about each other.

Raine introduced Eda to Apple Blood, her favourite drink

Raine and Eda met each other but they alread had such a strong bond that they decided to attack a coven head and they didn't even have to say it.

Raine wanted to keep Eda safe. And Eda just ignores the suspicious stuff Luz says if Luz mentions Raine

I'll talk about Raine again

It's so refreshing to see a cartoon family where noone is abusive or absent but it's not completely perfect, not by far.

I am speaking of the Clawthorne family

Her mom didn't disown her, she wants to help but didn't realise that she was causing more harm than helping

Lilith in that episode was me. Lilith, I understand you. Oldest child struggles with being overlooked because you are "self-sufficient" (which you only are because you had to be)

I cried when Gwendolyn apologised to Lilith. That was really nice to see. I rewatched that scene three times and it did help

Eda's dad doesn't hate her

Eda blames herself for the attack

I like how that one was revealed. In a dream of a past memory

Hunter starting to dig a grave because he failed. He did what we all want to do in these moments. And he is still joking.

I was confused when Darius was nice to Hunter because he finally made friends. I was confused because I saw Darius as that bad guy because he captured Raine.

That he is against the Emperor as well makes much more sense

Hunter has a Penstagram account

It took me way too long to realise that those skulls the Titan Trappers wear are just masks

This found family in this show

Eda being vulnerable after always being represented as this snarky clever witch. She cares about her loved ones. She didn't fight Lilith to get into some stupid coven, she sees Luz and King as her children

She regrets not accepting help

Flapjack flying to Hunter was such a nice moment. Hunter believed genuinely that the Emperor was great by giving him magic, letting him keep all magic, gaving him clothes and food and one day off a year

Belos gave Hunter a way to do magic

But Flapjack was his

Birds represent freedom and Flapjack was the first step in freeing himself from Belos

So nice to learn that Eda carved Owlbert with her dad and now she wants to carve a Palismen with Luz

Hunter is a nerd (affirmative)

I like how Amity stopped her dad of giving her a hug. You don't need to forgive someone everything just because they are family

I like how Alador changed sides and wants to get to know his kids. It took way too long tho. But Odalia is suffocating. No weekend of in five years?! Come on. That's going to lead to a divorce

I also like how they give backstories even to small characters. Lile Edric.

Also those cloaking stones are so smart

Lumity was dorky and awkwardin the best way possible

Amity wanting to be an awesome girlfriend. And knowing just what her GF would say

I laughed so hard when it was revealed that Amity was the only one who bought the Good Witch Azura books

I cried so much when Luz picked flowers for her dad.

And Amity was with her

Why did Belos look like this in his mindscape

The season finale?

Okay, let's get over this

The plan with making Eda Coven head seemed so risky and I had a bad feeling.

It was right

Maybe they should have gone with Darius plan

It was so painful to see Eda getting a sigil. That was her thing, being the most powerful witch because she wasn't bound to a coven and was wild

And she gave it up for all the people she loves

I looove The Collectord character design. When he is imprisoned but also when he is free. A child with unimaginable powers obky a Titan could compete against.

He is a child but is overpowered. Not a teen, a child. This was so awesome

Even when dying Raine is doing everything to keep their promise and keep Eda safe...

I didn't got closure on that ship

What happened after they where stranded in the human world

Probably going to find out in season 3

I thought because the episode was called "King's Tide" King is going to transform into his giant Titan form and gain new powers or something like this and save the day

Instead he saved his big sisters by letting go

Full text:

Eda stopped her cart in front of the Owl House and looked at the pile of bags and boxes on it she brought from the market. Luz, King and a few of their friends were on a field trip with Lilith. And they were all arriving in the evening. Along with Camila and Vee who were coming for what was now becoming a traditional weekly dinner. And, as always, she expected more people to appear, because that's how it went these days. So, she got a plethora of food. Should she make it multiple trips?

There were days when she just couldn't be bothered to put her prosthetic on, and this was one of those days. However, sometimes it slipped her mind that missing an arm could affect her life in semi-unexpected ways.

And right now, she was facing the fact that carrying a whole bunch of boxes with one arm was much harder than it used to be with two.

Were these two or even three trips worth of stuff? She groaned at the idea of multiple trips from the kitchen to the entrance. 

"Nah, I can make it in one trip!" she said confidently. She was more than aware that it was just pettiness, that strange type of laziness that resulted in you making your own life harder instead of easier the moment she hooked all the bags on her arm and piled on the boxes.

But, she was determined to make it work and too proud to admit defeat. She was Eda the Owl Lady, she could face beasts, coven heads, fanatic rulers and all-powerful child gods, what was one pile of boxes?

Well, apparently, it was a pain in her butt as she almost dropped it all while trying to open the door. Hooty was asleep. He was doing something the whole night and Eda was both too scared and respectful of his privacy (but mostly scared) to ask what.

As she somehow managed to open the door and hooked it with her leg, trying to get it to fully open, Hooty woke.

"Need a hand?" he asked sleepily. She knew he didn't mean it as a pun, he was too sleepy for it. But boy, considering she was in her current predicament only because her new hand was currently lying at the bottom of her nest it was it hard not to hear it.

She noticed Raine passing by in the living room.

"Nah, don't worry Hooty! Raine should give me a hand, I mean they yanked it away back in the day, it's only fair!" she snorted, catching Raine's attention, "Hey, Rainstorm!" she greeted.

But, instead of laughing back, Raine's demeanour soured, "Yeah, I guess it is only fair," they said, picking up all of the boxes, leaving her with only boxes to carry.

Oh crap.

Oh crap, she was an idiot!

"Hoot!" Owlbert screeched into her ear.

"Oh-oh!" Hooty chimed in.

"Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm an insensitive bitch!" she groused. Apparently, the arm was still a sour topic on certain days.

"Raine," she entered the kitchen, setting the bags on the counter. "You know I'm joking right."

"I don't like when you joke like that, Eda," they said, "like it doesn't matter."

"I'm sorry," she said, approaching them, "I wasn't thinking.".

"No, you weren't," they said, but their voice was soft, there was no real ire in it.

"But I want to reiterate, I don't hold a grudge," she said.

"Well, you should! I'm the reason you lost a limb, Eda! Your life was turned upside-down and-"

"Hey, my life is great, thank you very much! Firstly, I'm actually alive! You're the reason I'm alive, you saved my life that day, quite stupidly risking your own in the process!"

"I should've never even gone with that plan!" they spat, "I still curse myself every day for it! If we didn't go through with it then, then-

"Raine Whispers!" she said firmly and they looked at her, "May I remind you that we went with that plan. I did that willingly. I risked my life, you risked yours. You wanted to protect me, well, I wanted to protect you. And my kids. And my sister. And every other person on these bloody isles! Ok?"

Rain smiled softly and nodded. Titan, they loved her. They made a step closer, resting their head against her chest and she pulled them into a one-armed hug.

"Look, I won't say there aren't days when this," she lifted her stump, "is inconveniencing. But I still like living! Titan, that sounds cheezy, but it's true. I've got you, and King and Luz, and her ever-growing horde of friends and Lilith and Hooty and everyone. And I can still fly and turn into an awesome harpy form. And I wouldn't have any of that if it weren't for you and your stupid self-sacrificing heart," she kissed the top of their head, "ok?"

"Ok. I'm sorry too,” they said, “I’m not trying to tell you how to cope or how to joke about your own missing arm. If you’re over it, I should be too but-

"You aren't," she said, cupping their face, "that's fair. If the roles were reversed, I probably would've done the same and be messed up now myself about it."

"Of course, I'm messed up about it, I hurt you!" they pulled away from the hug slightly. 

"Hey, none of that. I know that in any other circumstance, you wouldn’t touch even a feather on my wing," she said, looking them directly in the eyes, "you saved me. You made a decision that could not have been easy to make.”

“That is the problem,” Raine said, taking her hand between theirs, running their fingers over the back of her hand, “It was easy. I didn’t like it, but it was easy. But just because the decision was easy, it does not mean it was an easy thing to do. I don’t feel guilty about taking your arm to save your life. I feel guilty because you were there in the first place.”

“I know that. And I’m glad you made that decision. And I don’t regret any of mine, ok? And I won’t have you feel guilty or beat yourself up over it, ok? I'll keep repeating that until it gets thought that thick bardic skull of yours. I'll get Hooty to sing it to you,"

This got a chuckle out of them, "you wouldn't..."

"Oh, I would. You know I would. Let me ask what you were thinking at that moment?" she said. To someone, it may sound counterproductive, to keep picking at the wound, but she knew it would work.

The way they looked at her, their smile filled with so much love and admiration was enough to make her melt, "That I couldn't watch you die, that I needed you safe, especially since I had a promise to keep, no matter what.”

"And you did just that, Rainstorm." she lifted their chin and pulled them in for a kiss. "I'm alive because of you. Because of the witch I love.”

"And I love you," they said, "and I'll sort all these messy feelings one day."

“As long as you need. I know all about messy feelings,” she chuckled bitterly, “Don’t have too many about this though, arm or life, I choose life. Besides, this way I’m a wild witch again. “Because I was never known for good decisions, and you know that!” she laughed, “I was just too fucking lazy to bother with thinking about things practically it this morning!”

"Hey, what are you, my mother? Kids are not around, I can curse! Unless your ears are too sensitive for it!”

Raine shook their head fondly, “Force of habit, I guess,” they joked. The house was always so filled with kids that warning Eda, and often Darius when he would come around, practically became a tick of theirs.

"Now come on, Rainstorm,  while we have human realm visitors today and this dinner had to be perfect,” she said, looking at the clock "it’s also 11 AM and the dinner is at 6. We got some time.” she walked slowly to the living room, still keeping them in an embrace.

“For what?”

“I don’t know,” she pulled them closer, “a nap? A cuddle? Hooty is here so nothing more than a cuddle…”

“Eda, I should restock my books, and-Whoa!” they gasped as she threw herself on the sofa, pulling them with her.

She let them go, “Ok, go restock books, I won’t keep you trapped!”

They frowned, “You know full well I’m not able to say no to this right now, you temptress!”

“Mmmhm, guilty as charged! I tempted you into taking a break and cuddling on a sofa…”

“You’re the worst” they turned around and kissed her on the cheek. “Mind if I read?”

“Nope. Mind if I do this?” she asked, wrapping her arm and her stump around them, keeping them as close as possible and resting her head on top of theirs.

“You know I don’t,” they said, summoning their violin and only playing a few notes, making a book float from the bookshelf and two cups of tea from the kitchen.

With the book, they relaxed, leaning against Eda, who contently closed her eyes, just enjoying their presence.

It was domestic bliss she never thought she would have, let alone want. But now, with the bard she loved in her arms, well, arm, knowing that the kids are coming home after their field trip with Lilith, she would not change it for anything in the world.

WOO BOY, i just finished the owl house, and MAN. i am feeling a lot of things, and i wanna talk about them (putting it under the cut just bc there's so much lol)

firstly, i know there's a danger in comparing shows to one another, but i'm honestly WAY happier about how toh ended in comparison to amphibia. i understand WHY amphibia ended the way it did, but honestly? i think it was kinda the wrong way - but that's probably just personal feelings, idk. but TOH?? overall, i really liked the finale. the idea that friends and family wouldn't be able to see each other again after everything they went through is just heartbreaking, and even though i love angst, sometimes it just doesn't work for canon.

"it'll be nice to see everyone again after all this time." "luz, you saw them last week." i had to pause the episode after that, because THANK FREAKING ARCUES. if luz got separated from them,,, UGH. SO glad they didn't take that route lol

one minor complaint i have about the episode is that the beginning made me feel like i was missing something, or had somehow skipped ahead, or was watching the wrong thing, or just. idk. i get why they did it, it definitely made the collector's game hit us as an audience harder, but since i didn't see it live, the beginning. just made me feel like i was missing something idk lol

and the episode did get a bit "power of friendship!"-y, but whatever. it wasn't too bad lol

but OH TITAN when the animation got SMOOTH??? i went a bit feral ngl (it!! was so good!!!!!!!!!!!)

also, i'm just. so glad that raine didn't die. i wish we got confirmation about raine and eda, but honestly, i'm just SO RELIEVED that one of the few nonbinary characters in media didn't die (and that the only nblw ship in media that i know can still sail!!)

there's probably stuff i'm forgetting tbh, but it was just. really good. and i'm so glad that raine didn't die and that luz can still go back and forth between the human and demon realms :,)

I saw a post recently where someone else analysed how Luz's love language is acts of service and Amity's is physical affection, and it got me thinking so in light of today's incredible episode I want to do some serious digging into Luz's feelings for Amity. This is probably gonna get pretty long but hey, these two are more than worth it.

I'm going to go through three key episodes for Luz and Amity's relationship so that I can properly illustrate my points, starting with Lost in Language.

First, I want to talk about how, despite the fact that Amity had been nothing but objectionable to her so far, literally all it takes for Luz to decide she wants to befriend her anyway is reading about Azura befriending Hecate in her book and seeing Amity reading to kids at the library. This clearly establishes that Luz is intrigued by Amity and willing to go out of her way to connect with her, even when Amity hasn't yet given her any particular reason to do so.

Next, let's talk about the manner in which Luz tries to save Amity from Otabin later in the same episode. This is one of the first times we see Luz attempt to be Amity's hero, as she chooses to make an unnecessarily dramatic entrance dressed as her own version of Azura, playing the role of the dashing knight come to rescue the fair maiden albeit not quite as gracefully as is usual in these stories lol. She even takes the time to doodle Amity being impressed by her performance too, introducing the idea that Amity's perception of her means a lot to Luz.

Finally for this episode, we get another example of both these things: Luz putting in a substantial effort to bond with Amity, and Luz wanting to impress Amity or get specific reactions from her. After impulsive plan to get them away from Otabin works, Luz finds the time to be a good even when they're running for their lives and actually manages to make Amity laugh which was an impressive feat at that point tbh, looking extremely pleased when her comment is received positively.

These next two moments provide a neat link to the next episode I want to discuss, Adventures in the Elements, so I'll cover them in one go. We see Luz's first Act of Service for Amity when she offers her the Azura book she's missing to show that she wants to be friends, and then when she meets Amity to get it back we see how important the gesture was for Luz. She's very eager to hear Amity's thoughts, loves it when she finds the fanart Amity drew, and in general it's just obvious that this was another attempt to impress Amity on Luz's part.

This only continues as Luz proudly proclaims that she's going to join Amity's class at Hexside, even winking at her in the process, and solidifies the significance of her giving Amity the book even more by suggesting they start a club to talk about it further. Like, seriously, this entire episode is pretty much just Luz being adorably excited to share classes with Amity and flat out learning a whole new spell just to make sure it happens.

The interesting thing here, though, is that Luz gets really nervous as soon as the twins suggest they all train together, enough to lie to them in a moment of panic, and then gets super embarrassed when she sees that Amity is also practicing at the Knee. This doesn't seem to make much sense since Amity is being pretty nice by this point and not at all mocking or condescending, and Luz has given up on trying to look cool to the twins by now too. But it actually makes a lot of sense when you consider that this is another instance of Luz wanting to impress Amity and worrying about looking inept in front of her.

There's also the way that Luz is just... so clumsy and awkward around Amity in these episodes. The girl knocks a book to the floor and falls off a rock just trying to say hello, for crying out loud, complete with stammering over her words. Yeah, it's safe to say Luz is lowkey crushing on Amity here.

Don't worry, because I saved the best for last. Enchanting Grom Fright is basically the culmination of everything those two previous episodes set up. Not only do we get two Acts of Service from Luz, with her offering to face her own worst fear for Amity with zero hesitation and then happily offering to go to Grom with her so that Amity wouldn't end up alone, but she also brings out some dramatic flair when she declares herself Amity's “fearless champion,” like a knight in shining armour vowing to protect her princess although she still hasn't got the graceful part down lmao.

Plus, there's the fact that in both of their Lingering Eye Contact in Close Proximity with Romantic Tension™ moments in the episode, Luz's expression is the exact same as Amity's, wide-eyed and curious like she's not quite sure what to make of what she's feeling. And that's even before she just full on starts flirting with Amity later on. I'm sorry, but those smirks and fancy show-off moves while dancing are not remotely heterosexual, Luz.

All of this brings us to their current situation: Amity is aware of her crush on Luz but thinks that Luz only sees her as a friend, and Luz is subconsciously flirting with Amity as well as trying to show off for her and be her hero but remains fairly unaware of her crush on her and thinks that Amity likes someone else. So in conclusion, teenagers are useless, but we been knew. Rather, the point I want to end on is that there's a reason why Luz and Amity were so in sync with such amazing chemistry during their dance when they weren't talking, and it's because they both have different ways of communicating their emotions but when they let their actions speak for them they were finally on the same page albeit briefly.

tl;dr - Luz and Amity are both crushing hard on each other, they just need to realise that the other has a different way of expressing their feelings and find the courage to be honest with each other. Amity's crush is more glaringly blatant, what with all the blushing and gay panicking and wanting to ask Luz to the school dance, but Luz's crush on Amity is also pretty evident in the way she tries so hard to impress her and often steps in to help her out with grand gestures, which she never does to anywhere near the same extent with any of her other friends.

Well, that was a nice, light episode! Drama! Flair! Facepaint! But nothing too plot heavy or angsty.

I think the Flyer Derby plotline stood on its own quite solidly, and it was definitely apparent that it was the main attraction here. Some more development and confidence building for Willow, and Hunter got a brief taste of actually being a kid for once.

Also, I feel the Lumity part managed to avoid overshadowing the episode, unlike in Through the Looking Glass Ruins. Their interactions were cute and sweet, yet casual and understated. Clearly girlfriends, but not too in-your-face about it, and the storyline was cute enough, even if it did have Tibbles.
