I want you to know that I came across a random post of your Death Note art, went "Awww, oh my gosh, with the way this person draws Light I think Akechi would look fantastic in the same style!", clicked onto your profile, and then saw your newest artwork was Akechi. I'm still kind of cackling over it and thought maybe you'd find it funny too. Your art is SO cute, I'm very happy I found it <333
Tumblr media
HAHA THAT’S AMAZING (<< was an akechi artist wayyyy before i fell head over heels for light)
but rlly… theyre so similar:
- brunet
- asshole
- pretty boy
- mass murderer
- black-haired homoerotic rival
at the end of the day, the key difference is one is a top and the other is a bottom.
ok but seriously, they’re vastly different characters on a fundamental level:
- light was handed everything him on a silver platter: family, friends, looks, intellect, a comfortable life… as a bastard child of a sex worker and now an orphan, goro had to fight his way to his current position and will always harbor a terrible sense of inferiority (light is completely confident in his absolute superiority, Always (that’s why the challenge of L sent him off the deep end of obsession lol))
- light genuinely sees himself as a hero, while goro would like to feel the same but is nonetheless depressingly aware of his villain’s journey (his undesirable position as the detective vs the underdog phantom thieves, his string of assassinations, his ultimate dirty bloody goal, etc.).
- light’s motive is about the world’s salvation, cleansing, the birth of his ideal reality (very messianic of him with the slightest loving tinge of mary cradling her lamb hahaha) while goro is laser-focused on ruining this one asshole’s life in particular, vengeance and revenge at once! one’s focused on rebirth, and the other gunning straight for death! they both use murder to get what they want but light probably floats around thinking himself so clean and divine as mother of the world (ignorance is bliss) while goro is constantly desperately trying to cover up his suspiciously red hands with his gloves hehehe… they’re both constantly striving for perfection, just with varying levels of self-awareness!!
- goro is a canonical loner; light has a horde of friends; this is probably due to a difference in public persona! goro is an untouchable idea of what he thinks a human should be and is completely out of the loop when it comes to normal social interactions (believes opening with hegel will instantly endear himself to the average person (luckily he inflicted that upon akira who is decidedly not average in the slightest)), light is implied to be more down-to-earth and even slightly goofy (he’s gaming decorum like an advanced speedrunner)! it’s probably good how distant goro is, because getting any closer to him will allow you to see how off-putting and uncanny he is, sorta like an AI-generated image—seams in the wrong places and far too much teeth LOL. meanwhile light has this whole shebang so thoroughly figured out that he’s BORED with it all! he’d like to move on to the next game (with L), thank you!! light definitely still exudes uncanny creepiness (it’s his natural state of being) especially when he zones out or starts hysterically cackling out of nowhere at his own thoughts, but he’s a hundred times better at masking compared to goro due to a better upbringing. goro is starved for the adoring friends he sees akira easily picking up one after another; light couldn’t give less of a shit because he’s always had those trivial luxuries! he’d much rather prefer an adoring WORLD!!
- then there’s the difference in how they die… one started out surrounded with company but ultimately died alone, while it’s the opposite for the other (if you count the de-realization of maruki’s reality as goro’s “death” (which i don’t)).
- in conclusion, light and goro are like funhouse mirror reflections of each other!!! one is a pampered lapdog getting a taste of rabies and letting loose, while the other is a starving wolf trying to domesticate itself for treats and headpats!! and i <3 them both!!!!!
anyways i may be wrong about light because im going purely off of fics, tumblr shitposts, and my own imagination :] feel free to school me in a way that won’t destroy my delusions!

I have a request for joker (could you use akira for the name please).
Something like his s/o is also in the phantom thieves and when they are in safe rooms she likes to do small braids in his hair, also while chilling out at leblanc maybe :3
Might be a silly request but I thought it was cute, have a great day!
persona 5: playing with his hair (akira kurusu/ren amamiya)
notes: akira kurusu for protag, fluff, fem!reader, reader is a phantom thief, this might be sliiightly inaccurate since i haven't touched p5 in a while and idc to check myself
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you were grinding through mementos one day with the rest of the phantom thieves, and things were going pretty well! shadows were being slain, treasure was being looted, and you were overall having a fun time riding around in morgana's van form.
you were grateful, though, for makoto's recent membership of the team. she was better at driving the van than akira was (bless his heart), which meant she took the wheel while akira sat in the passenger's seat, telling her where to go.
you sat behind him in the second row of seats, often leaning your head on the seat in front of you, sometimes babbling to get akira's attention. he'd always reach back to ruffle your hair or playfully offset your mask.
but your attention always drifted to his hair - his soft and undoubtedly fluffy head of black feathery hair. you'd been together for a while, so physical interactions weren't uncommon, but you've never really asked him if you could play with his hair.
you really, really wanted to play with his hair. holy shit, you wanted nothing more than to do that. but now wasn't the right time, being in mementos and all. you'd have to strategise for another time.
thankfully, that time came when after leaving mementos, akira invited you back to leblanc to destress and chill out. he'd make some coffee, you two would chat and cuddle, probably watch some tv.
you accepted, obviously, and taking his hand in yours, led you through the subway system to yongen-jaya and to leblanc. after pouring the two of you a damn good cup of coffee, you two went upstairs to his room in the attic.
after watching a few episodes of that cheesy action show you two like to riff on (and getting the neo featherman r theme song stuck in your head), you two migrated to his bed. akira sat down and extended his arms, inviting you in for a spooning sesh, but you waved your hands in denial.
after a puzzled and slightly pouty look from your boyfriend, you clarified what you meant: "i wanna be big spoon. i kinda... wanna play with your hair? is that cool?"
akira's eyes lit up and he adjusted his glasses that slipped down his face. a slightly goofy grin played across his lips and he shuffled on the bed, allowing you to slot yourself behind him.
"yeah, sure! go right ahead."
you quickly got to work, running your hands through his hair (which was still surprisingly soft and felt like heaven's clouds within your fingertips). you twirled some strands around your digits here and there and massaged his scalp.
akira leaned his head back into your touch, smiling all the while. you could've sworn you heard him purring (maybe that was your imagination, or maybe he was spending too much time with morgana).
you pressed a kiss to the side of his temple and kept playing with his hair long into the night...
Tumblr media
a/n: cat-coded joker ftw!!! also i love writing akira being more, like, a dork? i love his canon characterisation in the anime and it's not something i see often. you'll be seeing more silly goofy joker from me if y'all request it lmao

A very long post of doodles relating to @theminecraftbee ‘s smallishsona AU (sorry for the tag again). I think of this AU while wandering Tartarus, so, I’ve had a lot of time to think. This post is really long and has a lot of rambling so, I’m putting it all under the cut. I’m sorry world I have too many words and rambles in me
First up, character designs!
I used primarily their mc skins for design, with only a few rl things thrown in. But, I didn’t bring them up so the colors are off a bit.
Starting off with Joel:
Tumblr media
He’s following the persona protagonist tradition of mostly wearing the school uniform correctly, but with some minor embellishments. I’m still debating whether or not to add more, but w/e. His signature color is green.
Then Skizz and Impulse:
Tumblr media
The greatest dichotomy of time to design, Impulse I knocked out on the second go, but I’ve done many iterations of Skizz and I still am not satisfied with this design. The ripped sleeves looked too out there (to me, at least) but nothing else seems to work so I settled for the shirt under uniform shirt look. Something I struggled with that these two emphasize is making them look like teenagers, and what they look like, and also keep to the anime style, and also my own incompetence with drawing facial features so It’s something all of these lack in. Impulse is yellow, and Skizz is blue.
Tumblr media
Scar and Grian are next up, Scar’s facial Scar is from summoning his persona, because he stabbed himself in the face lol. Not much to say about these guys, I settled on orange for Scar and red for grian, which I am still struggling with beacause mumbo:
Tumblr media
is ALSO red. So I guess they are just, both? red? If you look at the party select screens in persona though, the characters have pretty strong color coding, so I guess I’ll figure something out. If anyone is still reading: help. Anyway, mumbo wins the award for wearing the uniform the most normal (except for the tie)
Last but not least, Gem!
Tumblr media
She’s wearing a longer skirt than the usual uniforms and also some big-ass boots. Also, she’s a sea monster thing? So, I was thinking, staring at SEES cool new uniform things and thinking about the Phantom Thieves and how cool their outfits are and realized the persona games have at least some design change to separate their daily looks from shadow hunting. Even if it is only glasses in p4 lol. So, I thought maybe weapon holsters? but, that seemed a little too generic. So! I decided to combine how I normally draw the hermits (and a lot of the fandom does) as having non-human traits as the big things setting their combat looks apart. It is both a) fun to draw, b) creates an eye catching and distinctive design for combat and c) is really funny. I thought it was funny so I drew a comic about it:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and here’s a sketch of what everyone looks like and also the transformation gives them very distinct eyes, for no reason other than I think it looks cool:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
mumbo is a normal human btw (or at least, he appears to be)
Welp, that’s all I got. If I look at these drawings any longer I will hate them so here they are, yippee. Also, Bee/OP, sorry for exploding; I am into persona and hermitcraft right now so this AU is like a perfect storm to give me brain rot.

Platonic Yandere Phantom Thieves x reader
Tumblr media
A/n: So, I'm taking a break from The Last of Us to write some P5 headcanons. After this, I'm going to start on Regret pt.2 and then some headcanons for The Last of Us, so expect that this weekend. Please Like, Comment, and Relog if you enjoy. (Also warning, I am very much American and don't know how the Japanese schooling system works, so please take that into account before reading)
The Phantom Thieves are as thick as, well, thieves. They are pretty protective of each other, mostly due to all they been through together. They were all once loners and outcasts, you know? That's a big reason why you become friends with them.
You transferred to Shujin in your second year. You were new to the area, and you weren't in a rush to make friends. You planned on just keeping to yourself until you graduated. Unlike a lot of your peers, you were not that worried about the "delinquent" school who was on parole. You've seen him around hanging with some other students. He didn't look that bad. His friend group was pretty diverse though, a true delinquent and a model, both of which were in your year.
A part of you was jealous, this guy who was branded as a criminal was able to make more friends than you. You shouldn't be upset at him for something that he can't control, but when you're eating lunch alone and catch them out of the corner of your eye, or when your when you're at the shopping district and you hear them loudly talking in the store you're in, even over your music, you can't help but get agitated. It's like they're following you, flaunting their friendship in your face.
You were doing your thing for about a few months before the supposed delinquent introduced himself to you. Akira Kurusu was his name, and he asked if you wanted to have lunch with him and his friends. You were kind of surprised, since he's literally never talked to you before this, nor has any of his friends. You were reluctant to except his invitation, thinking it was some sort of a prank, but you took the risk, since you were very desperate for friends.
Lunch was nice, and you learned a lot about his friend group. Akira was very much, not a delinquent, and shared some food with you. The real delinquent, Ryuji Sakamoto, was also really nice. He was pretty talkative and argued a lot with one of Akira's other friend Ann Takamaki. She was girly and sweet, which made it impossible to dislike her. Finally, there was Makoto Niijima, a third year, and the student council president. She was definitely the most intimidating, but of course, she was very nice, even offering to help you study if you ever needed.
You really enjoyed your time together with them. It was surprising that such a seemingly tightknit group was willing to let you hang out with them. At first, you thought this was a onetime thing, them just taking pity on a new student, but then the next day they acted confused when you went to your regular spot for lunch, Ann having to drag you over to their table. Then a week past and you had each of their phone numbers, each of them texting you nonstop. After a month went by, you met their other friend, Yusuke Kitagawa, who was definitely strange, but still very friendly and likeable.
You even got to meet Akira's strange cat Morgana, who definitely seemed more human than cat. You've seen him around school, appearing in some of the areas you would hang around by yourself. You assumed it was a coincidence, that they Akira took him in because he was a stray, but you couldn't help but feel as though he was watching you.
It was a strange friendship, but you were thankful, nonetheless. However, they were times when they would disappear for a while, with very little words for why. When you'd ask, they would play it off as being busy. You knew it was a lie, all of them were busy? At all the same time? Not very likely.
A part of you thought the problem was you. They all conveniently stopped hanging out with you around the time they became friends with another third year, Haru Okumura, a semi-celebrity and a young prodigy Futaba Sakura. They were obviously bored of you; you didn't offer them anything. You weren't extremely smart or attractive, nor were you particularly talented at anything. You were nothing compared to them, of course they wouldn't want to be around you anymore.
You stopped hanging out with them, and slowly stopped responding to their messages, even when your phone blew up with messages asking about where you were. You didn't show up to school as often, your grades dropping. You didn't care about your grades anymore, to busy wallowing in yourself pity to even notice your friends attempts on reaching out to you.
The Phantom Thieves were worried. Everything was going fine until you randomly stopped talking with them. You didn't respond to their messages, nor did you show up to school, so how were they supposed to help you? Ryuji immediately accused you of having a palace, and it took both Akira and Makoto both to calm him down enough so that they could come up with a plan to help you. Haru suggested that they just corner you at your home, which they of course new the location of. They all agreed that that would be the best solution.
When they arrived at you home, they let themselves in, knowing that your family wouldn't be home around this time. Ryuji immediately finds your room and starts demanding that you talk to them, even when you tell him to go away. After many minutes of pleading from the Phantom Thieves, you finally told them how you were feeling.
They all were conflicted. They didn't know whether or not to just straight up tell you what's been going on, since there's a large chance you wouldn't believe them. However, the took the chance and told you everything, claiming they were The Phantom Thieves. At first you though it was a joke, that they came up with an outlandish excuse for ignoring you, but you remembered the calling cards littered around the school during the incident with Mr. Kamoshida. You remember feeling eyes on you when you picked up one of them and read it out to yourself. Suddenly, everything made a little bit more sense.
It was strange, learning that your friends were a secrete group of vagilities, but you were happy to have them back. Though, you couldn't help but feel as though they were more possessive. Suddenly, one of them was walking you to and from school. You were always with one of them when they weren't busy, and they were checking up on you obsessively when they couldn't be with you. It became a little suffocating, but you assumed that's just what friends do, right?
A/n: Hope you enjoyed. Feel free to request persona 5 stuff from now on.

yaldabaoth couldn't help but make his whole team overpowered huh ... how are the phantom thieves supposed to survive ?? "oh noo akechi ur so hot haha .. please don't kill me" brilliant strategy pego (entire ask under cut)
[ACTUALLY UR PUTFITS WERE SO ON POINT. I HAVE 2 OUTFIT IDEAS 4 HIFUMI & SHIHO (MINUS MASKS) & 1 mask idea for yuuki but idk what else. i was thinking for the leaders it would def be chaotic but goro has most metaverse experience so hes the leader. ken kinda acts like mona in giving useful tips abt personas etc and hifumi takes on the role of makoto where she gives out different strategies (her, ken, & goro debate over these tips & strategies but usually end up doing them anyway). I have an urge to show u these outfits omg. i can ramble abt these outfits & their personas for forever .. i chose jormungandr for yuuki, skadi for shiho hela for hifumi, and persephone for eiko. ik its not very in the literacy scene for them to all have deities as personas but... goro breaks it with loki anyway, so ..
explainations:: hela & jormungandr are 2/6 of loki's kids in norse mythology, aiding him in the ragnarok/end of the world, and hela is sentenced down to the underworld to be the goddess of that realm since she was born half alive half dead, and she's sentenced to it by odin (basically. kinda the zeus of norse mythology, like the "king" of all of them) because she's the daughter of loki & all this other stuff .. chose her for hifumi because hifumi's mom basically forces her to be a shoji star after hifumi's dad and yeah. jormungandr i chose because hes kinda just a sleepy little guy: in norse mythology he's known as "the World Serpent" and he wraps around the entire ocean with his tail in his mouth kind of in a constant sleep until the ragnarok (all of loki's kids --aside from 2, one being dead & the other being a gift to odin-- including loki himself, are kinda trapped somewhere before the ragnarok happens) and he's not talked about a lot but he aids in so much and he's important (like how yuuki is kind of ignored by the pts, the dialogue options being horrid, despite him aiding in them. also yuuki is the bm's navi in the au & he runs a "revenge site" like how Strega/takaya sakaki, jin shirato, & chidori yoshino do in p3-- strega also does death calling cards , mainly shown in the novels which is p cool.. first ppl to use mental shutdowns despite not beinf called that then either. i love strega sorry. they all agreed to it because shiho wanted to deal with more people like kamoshida, goro wanted to deal with more people like shido, hifumi wanted to deal w more people like her mom, etc).. i chose persephone for eiko because in greek mythology, persephone is (most commonly accepted form of the myth) kidnapped by hades and forced into marriage with him by eating a pomegranate out of the underworld .. point blank, persephone reminds me of eiko being trapped and persephone's shown to overcome it , ( honestly eventually making the underworld & hades her Bitch. she kills the goddess/nymph of mints and creates the mint plant because she got too handsy with hades).. also hifumi and eiko are a little gay for eachother so why not have their personas be, too? anyway. SHIHO!! i chose skadi for her because skadi , in norse mythology , is both jotunn (giant) and a god like how loki is, but she's an accepted form of it because she was given over to the gods as a peace treaty, and thats pretty important to norse mythology i'd say (like how rooftop scene is important to kamoshida arc), and skadi claws up the aesir (council of gods) thru both her marriage (ann? ann. hehe.) and her own sheer will (shiho's recovery and goro's ..... questionable aid.) and skadi just fits. the goddess of mountains and winter? sign me the FUCK UP.
Anyway . this was long I apologise]

Could we please get some general romantic relationship headcanons for Ann, Makoto, Futaba, and Haru?
Of course, I hope it's to your liking!
———————————————————————
Ann
I see her being pretty affectionate, unless you don’t like that.
With her, most dates would be going to dessert places!
Probably some shopping dates too
She absolutely loves spending time with her S/O, I think she’d appreciate other dates/outings such as just walking around like one of those giant gardens or going sightseeing
When you hold hands, she loves interlocking fingers.
When it’s just her and her S/O, she doesn’t mind it quiet. She’ll maybe break the silence to ask something, but it’s always nice.
Loves leaning on your shoulder and cuddling!!!
Genuine conversations together, it’s as if she can tell you anything.
Makoto
She’s not too big on PDA, she’d rather keep that inside when it’s just the two of you.
She’ll hold you hand sometimes though, but that’s probably as far as she’ll go
She’s willing to go for about any type of date, honestly
Very inexperienced when it comes to romance, so if anything, you may need to be the one initiating.
Which, is probably why she’s up for trying anything when it comes to the relationship
Would always remind her S/O to study
Actually, normally reminds them of a lot of things and dates, so that’s nice
I don’t see Sae particularly minding Makoto having a S/O too much, would probably tease her (and maybe them) though. But if she hears anything bad? She’ll probably be all over them.
Futaba
She's definitely all over you.
Also probably is always or at least often holding your hand while you two are out
Dates with her are either the two of you playing multiplayer games together or just hanging out in her room or someplace geeky/nerdy (if she can work up the courage to go out)
If you’re dating Futaba, then you definitely have to have very similar or the same interests!!
Would love talking about latest updates for a game or a recent episode of a show she’s super interested in, and if you were also interested in the same things she’d definitely make you play with her or watch her play or watch the show together!!!
Probably teases you for being bad at a game, but it’s okay
If she’s mad at her S/O she just starts sending little text faces (similar to her first conversation with Yusuke after she joins the Phantom Thieves) >:[, >:0, >:|
Probably likes to play with your hands, similar to how she’ll randomly squish Morgana’s face as a cat
Haru
Wouldn’t mind some PDA!!! Mostly holding hands, and some small kisses/a peck on the cheek
Definitely loves dates where the two of you go sightseeing, especially going to gardens!!! (sorry, I just love garden dates……)
She’d love to go during the spring, maybe early spring if there’s cherry blossoms!
She’s definitely going off about the different types of plants she’ll see
I bet she’d like aquarium or museum dates too!
Something in me sort of screams that she’s a big gift giver for you, especially since she's rich??? Like hello? For the Phantom Thieves celebration after she joined she straight booked a whole THEME PARK for just them.
But she definitely wants to spend time with her S/O, that’s for sure.
loveslovesloveslovesLOVES talking with you, just about anything.
———————————————————————
I apologize that it isn't much, and I'm not too experienced with writing for the girls (especially Haru!! I've barely just met her unfortunately D:), but I wanted to give it a go! Someday I'll come back to this and add more.

hello shuake nation . i'm here to deliver my goro bpd essay that i promise like 2 months ago .
1) fear of abandonment/drastic efforts to avoid abandonment
I'D LIKE TO START THIS ONE OFF BY . showing examples of him being abandoned. Shido leaving him and his mother before he was born, and it's implied that his mom talked about it like. all the time (also not great for small child !) his mom attempting suicide , and goro being passed between foster homes.
goro goes to the most extreme lengths to prevent being abandoned again . creating an entirely different version of himself to get people to like him, assassinating people at shido's command so he won't toss him aside , and (this one might be a little bit of a stretch) murdering akira . this boy does nawt like being abandoned ! ! !
2) unstable relationships, often switching between idealized and devualued
do i even . need to explain this one . (im going to anyway)
goro's relationship with akira is SO unstable . he cares about him so much and that . really scares him , but hes so unbelievably jealous of him and feels that akiras "better than him" and thinks he pities him so he hates him . he praises him one minute and even if he hates it he genuinely means it , but internally he's terrified of akira looking down at him so he has such an anger towards him . akira is 100% his favorite person and he doesn’t know how to process that so he lashes out . i dont know how to put everything into words but im keeping this one shorter cuz its pretty self explanatory and if i got the chance i would not shut UP about it so
3) unstable identity and sense of self
he literally has 2 personas . one crafted out of lies and images of who he wishes he was, and the other crafted out of the hatred he holds . thats unstable as hell
4) impulsivity in at least 2 areas that are self destructive
went to his dad when he was 16 telling him abt his persona so he could get close enough to ruin him , constantly carrying out hits for shido to get close enough to ruin him , turning himself psychotic with his personas power . the list goes on
5) frequent suicidal ideology/behavior
goro turned himself psychotic , was fully prepared to be killed by the phantom thieves as long as they died with him, had no plan for what would happen after he murdered shido, fully accepted his death in maruki’s reality , etc .
6) emotional instability
he tries to keep a calm demeanor , but due to being neglected in his childhood , goro has no emotional maturity . he’s constantly lashing out , specifically at akira and the other thieves . he has a meltdown in front of them despite being deathly afraid of being vulnerable , and he has a habit of blaming every issue on akira like it’s his fault . this one is also a little bit of a reach , but he shows a bit of his true personality to akira after their rank 8 battle , and tells him he hates him . it doesn’t make a lot of sense for him to tell akira this , especially if he’s trying to keep up the detective prince charade , which he goes back to shortly after this .
7) chronic feelings of emptiness
this one is hard to directly point out , because it isn’t explicitly shown in game , but it’s obvious if you read in between the lines . we don’t know a lot about his childhood besides what he says in the bathhouse , but he seems sort of apathetic and empty about his circumstances .
8) emotional outbursts
this one is really similar to the 6th diagnostic criteria , but once again -- he lashes out at akira and blames him for his situation even if it isn’t his fault , lashes out at the phantom thieves , and has a meltdown in front of them . but i’d specifically like to mention the scene in his bossfight when his charade flickers , and loki is seen for a brief moment . he wasn’t trying to summon loki , but he’s so emotional that he comes out anyway .
9) stress ideation and severe dissociative symptoms
i can’t specifically think of any examples for this but . it’s real in my heart . trust . but if goro has ALLL of the other symptoms , it’s so very likely for him to have this one , too .
and that concludes my goro akechi bpd essay , i hope you enjoyed goro nation . :3

hiii, your writing is so good, was wondering if i could have a persona 5 bois (yuske, ren, akechi and riyiji) with like a sibling like reader? like the reader is 2-3 years younger than the them and they are also a persona user (only if you want to)
thank you!
With a Sibling Reader
Fandom: Persona 5
Characters: Goro Akechi, Akira Kurusu/Ren Amamiya, Ryuji Sakamoto, Yusuke Kitagawa
Type of Request: Headcanons
Notes: I love sibling requests so much. Idk what it is, but I really enjoy the family vibes
Tumblr media
Akechi
Your relationship is honestly pretty strained. He is happy that he has some family, but he’s so focused on revenge and his goals that he ends up being closed off to you.
He puts himself in his work so much and then when he gets home, he’s still working or he’s frustrated with what happened, or just tired. Honestly, a sibling relationship with Akechi is a lot like how Makoto and Sae’s was.
If Akechi learns that you ended up having a persona then he is so conflicted. On one hand, it lets him know that he doesn’t have to work so hard since a lot of his work is him trying to protect you from Shido.
But on the other hand, if you have a persona that means you’ll end up dealing with the Phantom Thieves at some point and he knows that you won’t approve of his actions if you found out.
Ren
He was so happy when you came to visit him. Ren made sure to send you letters and texts all the time since he couldn’t see you, and then you decided to visit for Golden Week and he was so happy.
You can bet that he’s telling you everything. Yeah, it might be smarter to leave the Phantom Thief stuff out to keep you safe or whatever, but you’re his sibling and he wants you to know.
It was an accident that you got pulled into a Castle and Ren was so worried about you the entire time.
But then you awoken to a persona and he felt so proud! Still worried because he knows you’re going to want to join in now and he doesn’t want you getting hurt.
Ryuji
I see Ryuji as being the typical annoying older brother, but he obviously cares about you even if he doesn’t say it all the time.
Very protective of you too. With all that happened with your guys’s dad and mom, it’s not surprising that he would be.
It probably has caused a falling out between you two at some point before it was talked out and then your relationship ended up stronger than before.
Was so surprised to see you awaken to a persona. Couldn’t help but be annoying about it because he was hoping to be the super cool phantom thief sibling and now here you are trying to catch up to him.
Yusuke
You and Yusuke are definitely really close as siblings. It honestly probably kept you two sane that you had each other when it came to Madarame.
Things were definitely difficult especially since Yusuke continued to be the one to be the one to take the blame or make sure Madarame’s eye was on him so you’d be safe.
There was some tension and fighting when you both met Ann’s group. Yusuke was brainwashed by Madarame and you knew better. It wasn’t until you both ended up in his palace which caused your persona’s to awaken.
Yusuke continued to want to take care of you and keep you from harm, but with you having your own Persona, you easily showed him that he’s allowed to be protected and kept safe too.

Loved your analysis posts on Akechi and the PT. Imo I feel like people greatly overblow Akechi's third semester personality. I constantly see him written as being really aggressive to the PT and he IS but also not really? He's cold and pragmatic in order to get the job done, he's not interested in starting catfights with them.
His interactions with Sumire in particular showcase this really well. Akechi's not offering her a shoulder to cry on but he does give her a hand when he feels she's about to compromise the mission.
He insults Maruki to hell and back but it's not like his "true self" has no filter when it comes to interacting with allies.
Thank you! And yeah, I agree. Third semester Akechi is pretty much collected, focused on business, matter-of-fact. Cold and distant as fuck. Cynical, of course. He interjects snide comments and personal attacks into what he says, but he doesn't do it constantly; he'll say exactly what he thinks, unless he has a reason not to. Irritate him even a little, and you'll know all about it. And despite "I'm always calm" being such a meme, he does seem very calm—but I think it is explicitly an outward calm. It's the sort of calm that makes someone seem deadly.
I wonder how well he compartmentalises in that month. He's always shoved everything he doesn't want to face into a box. Is he still doing that? Or is it breaking down? The "dead man walking" thing must colour everything he thinks, for instance—he's prepared to face his death rather than live under Maruki, but that doesn't mean he actually wants to die. There are a couple of moments where he's like... I have a philosophical objection to this, or hey, check out this cool thing. And then he just... stops. What's the point? Who cares? Why bother? He almost seems kind of depressed.
Plus, as far as his ~redemption~ and ~second chances~ go—he's not going to mend any bridges in a month. He doesn't have to come to terms with a damn thing. He can just shove anything that's going on with him down into its box where it belongs. All he has to do is focus on getting his mission over the line. For one month. And you can speculate about how successful he ultimately is.
He still introspects, like in the Jazz Jin conversations. He shows concern for Joker and Sumi. And why does he care about Sumi? Don't forget that at first, in his navi phase, he thinks she's the Palace ruler; he's watching her. But later, I think Sumi makes him think about his own situation, maybe, with the way she overcomes her false self and commits to her true self. And he does like people who make him think.
And what's even left, when all the false, simpering shit is removed? Some of it's the void: the emotional emptiness and the pure determination that got him into such a fucking mess to begin with. That's really him. The impatience with idiots and the sharp tongue is him for sure—he wants to fucking talk, finally, to say at least some of what he really thinks. He's doing the same thing in the confidant: he puts something out there, and sees if he gets pushed back. What will it take, to make them cast him out? How much of him will be "too much"?
So there's also that impulse to keep everyone away, which contradicts the definitely-real Akechi we saw at the end of the engine room, with all his masks gone: "none of that happened, that's not me, if you think it was, I'll make you wish you didn't". It will take much longer to face that than he has. And it would be dangerous to the mission to do it. So why bother?
Some of it's Cognitive Akechi, I think, who showed up unstoppable and deadly at Akechi's lowest point. Don't forget how closely the Akechi fight parallels the Okumura fight, with the beatdown by the Phantom Thieves leading to an execution by an Akechi. I don't know if third semester Akechi consciously mimics Cogkechi, but it seems likely that he is influenced by him; that that image of Shido's reinforces what Akechi would view as his strongest points.
As for losing his shit in combat? Yeah, that's a deliberate choice too, and something he has full control over, other than in the showdown where he uses Call of Chaos. Just like Joker, he puts a mask on to unmask a difficult aspect of himself, one that has no place in society.
I think there's at least a bit of the gutter-rat kid he was showing, when he fights. Every time his voice breaks down (and I work from the Japanese audio because I'm a nerd and a weeb) I wonder... okay, this is a textbook anime breakdown into the villain voice, but is there a class differential here? Maybe it's a British thing but I'm weak for Akechi losing his polished accent under stress, fight me.
So yeah—you want him to be ashamed and cower in the corner? Like he has to earn the right to be there? No, he's not going to do that. He fights the way he wants, the way he enjoys and needs to fight—while still remaining within the confines of the team. And it is only in combat that he's like that; he even keeps his usual surface calm when they're walking around in the Palace and in the cutscenes. I don't think it's surprising Maruki makes him lose his shit; Maruki is trying to manipulate him. And that's a trigger for Akechi, make no mistake.
That moment he unchains himself in the engine room stays with him forever, I think:
Tumblr media
HELLO, CREEPY BOY but watch his face: he smiles. He sees something. He understands something. And he doesn't forget it.

My hot take on YYH Netflix is that normally condensing a story this drastically would not work at all, but YYH is kind of a special case because Togashi very obviously was making things up as he went along and it takes quite a while for YYH to settle on what the story actually is.
Like, if you just saw the first episode you'd probably think the show is about Yusuke's ghost shenanigans and the story's over when he comes back to life. They spent a whole four episodes on it in the anime, and that's after cutting out a lot more issues from the manga. But there's not a lot that happened while Yusuke was a ghost that's of any consequence to the rest of the story, and anything that was, like Kuwabara becoming a good student, didn't need Yusuke to be a ghost in order to happen. Like, while he's a ghost he learns ghost abilities like being able to possess people or talk to them in their dreams, but when he comes back to life he doesn't retain any ghost powers like Danny Phantom, he gets completely different abilities that he only learns about after coming back to life.
So it really doesn't feel like we missed out on anything by having Yusuke get resurrected right away and establishing the threat of demons invading the world from the beginning and having that be the reason Koenma wanted to resurrect him, rather than introducing all of that only after Yusuke came back to life. It doesn't feel rushed, it just feels like it knows what the point is and gets to it.
The story also doesn't really dally around with the idea of Yusuke doing actual detective work, which also gets abandoned pretty quicky in the managa/series. He doesn't get any gadgets or get assigned a bunch of different cases that all just end up being a gauntlet for him to fight through, he pretty much just has the one big case. I think combining the Three Thieves arc with the Rescue Yukina arc is actually a significant improvement for the story. Cause like, originally the Thieves arc was just a vehicle to introduce Kurama, but then Hiei ended up becoming a regular character too and his appearance in that arc was totally inconsistent with everything established about him later. It makes so much more sense for his motive for participating in the heist to be his sister, rather than wanting to take over the world with an army of demon slaves. It also doesn't feel like we lost anything of value by cutting out the 4 Saint Beasts arc when helping Hiei rescue his sister is a much better motive for him to cooperate and bond with the others than Hiei just being forced to do community service. It also eliminates that awkwardness of Hiei kidnapping Yusuke's girlfriend and trying to turn her into his demon slave and then being instantly forgiven by Yusuke the next time they meet and never addressing it again.
Where I feel like it went too far was bringing in the Dark Tournament stuff. Having Yusuke drop everything to go train with Genkai for a whole month in the middle of a case while Hiei apparently makes no progress toward finding his sister just didn't make any sense. We didn't get to know Yusuke well enough to really understand how much growth he had to go through to earn Genkai's spirit wave or what emotional barriers he needed to overcome to beat Toguro. We didn't get to know Genkai long enough for her death to hit as hard as it should. We didn't get to see enough of Yusuke and Kuwabara's bond to understand why it made more sense to kill him instead of Keiko in order to motivate Yusuke. We didn't get as much build-up for the opponents the fab four would be facing and things like Kurama's fox form and Hiei's dragon are just there and not things that that were built up as their only desperate options to have even the slimmest chance of survival.
It really feels like a shame that they didn't go with the original ending of the Rescue Yukina arc where the Toguros took a dive on Sakyo's orders. Like, if they were worried about not getting a second season, the story already had a perfectly satisfying conclusion that you can just accept as an ending as long as nothing else comes afterward to tell you the bad guys are still alive. But Toguro, Bui, and Karasu are all clearly unambiguously dead by the end of the Netflix series and all the important plot points about Toguro and Genkai's past has already been put out there, so there's no way to go back on that and do the Dark Tournament proper with a more fleshed out story and fan-favorite characters now.
Hypothetically, if there were more seasons though, because the vast majority of the series is already covered and there's really only two arcs left that are too distinctly separated to be combined I could see a season 2 and a season 3 that adapt Chapter Black and the Makai arcs in a way that's more satisfying.
Like, S2E1 could cover just the House of 4 Dimensions, ending with the reveal that Genkai has been brought back to life, or at least can contact the living world in order to continue Yusuke's training and prepare him for what's coming.
S2E2 would be Yusuke and the gang looking for Sensui and his goons and we'd get the battle with Doctor in the A plot and Kuwabara's battle with Seaman in the B plot.
S2E3 would be Seaman's backstory and revelations about who Sensui is and what he's trying to accomplish. Kuroko could maybe be introduced here to fill in some of the exposition gaps. The episode would end with Sensui finally appearing and kidnapping Kuwabara, with Sniper foiling Yusuke's attempt to rescue him.
S2E4 would be Seaman taking the gang into the tunnel, Game Master would be skipped over and we'd get straight into Yusuke vs Sensui, ending with Yusuke's death.
S2E5 would be Kuwabara, Kurama, and Hiei breaking out of containment to avenge Yusuke and Yusuke awakening to defeat Sensui, only for Spirit World to suddenly turn on him once they realize he's related to Raizen. The season would end on a cliffhanger with Yusuke being forced to go on the run into demon world.
S3E1 would then open with Yusuke already in Demon World, wandering around until he eventually finds Raizen. Meanwhile back in the human and Spirit Worlds everyone is dealing with the fallout and the episode ends with Hiei and Kurama being summoned/deported to Demon World.
S3E2 would be Hiei and Mukuro's stories.
S3E2 would be Kurama and Yomi's stories, with Kuronue from the movie thrown in there as well.
S3E3 since we skipped the Dark Tournament we can't have Kurama recruiting old opponents under the guise that they'd be serving Yomi only to turn the tables and reveal that they're all loyal to Yusuke. And besides, it was kind of a waste in the original series to set Kurama, Hiei, and Yusuke up on opposing sides and then just instantly resolve the conflict by having Yusuke propose a free-for-all that everyone gets on board with. This could be a great opportunity to have some actual conflict between the three with Yusuke fearing what the other two Kings would do with total control of Demon World, Kurama not wanting to work for Yomi but having to pretend like he does, and Hiei not knowing what he wants.
S3E4 would see the three kingdoms go to war, until Yusuke and his friends learn about Spirit World's plot to pit them all against each other to further their own control of Demon World and convince the kings to set aside their differences and unite to battle Spirit World.
S3E5 would see Spirit World defeated and King Enma overthrown and replaced with Koenma. New policies would be put in place respecting the Demon World's right to self-govern and allow its citizens to travel between worlds. Yusuke and Kurama would finally be able to return home to their loved ones while Hiei would stay in Demon World to be with Mukuro.

Akeshu meeting as infants
I've seen the admittedly very wholesome fanart of Akiren and Goro meeting as children, or the tiny fanfics (I've only really found one, if anyone knows of the existence of more, don't hesitate to link them)
Childhood AUs are adorable.
But might I add my own twist??
What if our fated Persona user rivals originally met when they were----tinnier.
Babyhood AU, if you will.
The Phantom Thieves have canon birthdays and birth years, although Akiren's isn't listed, he obviously has to be born the same year as Ann and Ryuji since he shares a school grade with them. As for his month and day, I headcanon all the Persona Protagonists (P3, P4, and P5) birthdays are the day their game first released in Japan. Since canonically P4s Protagonist, Yu Narukami, shares a B day with his game release (All the Investigation Teams scooter license numbers are of their birthdays, and Yu's happens to be the day his game released). So if P4 follows that logic, why not P3 & P5? It's the best evidence we have to go off of 🤷‍♀️.
Point is, that would make Akiren's birthday, September 15th 1999
We know from Atlus Twitter birthday announcements and P5 character biographies in Japan, all the other PTs birthdays easily (excluding Morgana)
So we know Akechi's is June 2nd 1998.
Goro was a year and 15 months old when Akiren was born.
So let's imagine a scenario where---Akiren and Akechi's mothers both decided to take their infants to the Park. And they just so happen to be sitting on the same bench.
In Japan, the seasons to visit parks are Spring or Autumn, apparently. So let's say it's Mid-Spring, April.
April of 2000.
Mamakechi and mama---whichever you headcanon Akiren's surname to be. I haven't seen anyone combine his surname so I don't know which one to use to satisfy both parties.
Anyway, both mothers take their sons to the park since it's a nice day. They can't obviously play on any equipment since they are too young, so they would just be laying in their mother's arms, or if a bit older, exploring the greenery but still sticking close.
Goro would be 22 months, so would be more mobile, while Akiren would be 7 or 6 months depending if this is before or after April 15th. 6-7 month olds can roll over and maybe start to crawl at that time, and maybe babble.
So Akiren wouldn't be able to do much, or "play" like 22 month old Goro could. But since toddlers are usually pretty interested in younger infants, and try to interact, I could see Mamakechi and protagmom introducing their babies to each other, and trying to get them to interact.
"Goro, look! It's a baby. You used to be that little once. Can you say 'hi'? Be gentle, don't pinch or poke him."
Akiren stares back, with innocent curious eyes, and being cradled in his mother's arms. She tells Mamakechi that he's not very talkative. Not "shy" persei- he just prefers to watch people quietly, and tolerates one sided interactions with fellow infants fine, he's just a "little man of few words".
Mamaprotag gently puppeteer's one of Akiren's pudgy arm to wave back at Goro.
I just find baby Goro and Akiren meeting and interacting concept to be so wholesome and precious. You could even headcanon it more as possibly being canon, because---honestly, who remembers being 7 month or 1 year olds? Our memories and "awareness" doesn't kick in until a couple more years. The earliest memories I can recall was at four years old.
And you could write this as a one off chance meeting. Maybe one of them happened to be in the same city and place at that moment, but they move around alot so didn't exchange contact info to keep in touch for future interactions and playdates so their sons could grow up together.
Just----wholsome baby Akiren and Goro! Give me some fanart and one-shot fics of this!

Okay so I love Mute boyfriend with first words being I love prompts so let's do that with the Female members of the phantom thieves and the first words to them are of their love towards them
This came out as more gender neutral, hope that’s alright
Spoilers for Yoshizawa’s part ig
Phantom Thieves (Girls) Hearing their Mute S/O Speak for the First Time
Ann Takamaki
Tumblr media
Your quietness was a little strange to her at first, given her more extroverted nature
At first, she thought you were just shy, and tried getting you to open up a little
Then she stopped and agreed to let you come to her on your own
She doesn’t mind doing the talking for the both of you, and she’ll yell at anyone who judges your relationship
Plus, she’ll introduce you to the Phantom Thieves to expand your social circle a bit
Regardless of your quietness, she still loves to give you hugs and affection
While on a date at her house, snacking on some cookies you bought, you cuddle together while watching a movie
You look up at her while you’re resting on her, admiring her beautiful face
You decide it’s time, and you smile and press a kiss to her jaw
“I love you, Ann.”
She looks down at you in mild shock, then her eyes tear up and she presses kisses to your face
“Awww! I love you too, (Name)!”
She’s glad you trusted her enough to be so vulnerable with her
Makoto Niijima
Tumblr media
In general, she doesn’t mind
She did try pressing you into talking, because she thought you were just shy and wanted to help you out of your comfort zone
But when she realized it was genuinely uncomfortable, she apologized and backed off
She doesn’t mind doing the talking for you, and she’ll introduce you to her friends so that you can expand your circle of friends
She enjoys seeing you get along with them, even if you aren’t talking
And if anyone has something to say, she’ll give them a piece of her mind
She’s very patient with you
One time, you were on a date at her house
Sae was at work, and you were watching a movie together
You snuggled up to her, which caught her off guard a little, but she shyly smiled and pulled you close
At one point, you looked up at her
She watched the movie with a focused expression, and in that moment, she looked so gorgeous
You smiled and gave her a kiss on the cheek
“I love you, Makoto.”
She stiffened in shock, and her face turned bright red
Not just because she finally heard you speak, but because of the sudden affection as well
“!!! U-Um... I l-love you too, (Name)...”
Despite her reaction, she’s really happy you trusted her so much
Futaba Sakura
Tumblr media
She found it a little awkward at first
When you hung out with her, it was complete silence most of the time, and it was a little uncomfortable for her
But at the same time, she gets it
She can be pretty shy and quiet herself
Plus, you ended up bonding over shared interests, so that helped a lot
She actually started to vibe with your quietness after a while
One day, you were in her room, playing games and watching anime together
You were playing a racing game, and she was getting awfully competitive
Then at some point, you leaned in and gave her a kiss on the cheek
“I love you.”
She dropped her controller and lost the race
Her face turned bright red and she started stuttering
“U-Uhhh...! D-Damn! Cuteness overload! Futaba has fainted...”
Then she’ll flop backwards onto the floor and play dead, though that proved difficult, thanks to her strawberry-red face
After she recovered, she stuttered out an “I love you too” before burying her face into your shoulder
She’s actually really glad you chose her to be the first to speak to
Haru Okumura
Tumblr media
She doesn’t mind at all
She finds your shyness quite cute, actually
She’s perfectly fine doing the talking for you, and she’ll introduce you to her friends to get you acquainted with them
She does find herself wondering what your voice sounds like, but she’s not gonna force you to talk
One day, you were on a nice date
You went out to a gift shop, got some food, and hung out at Leblanc
She made conversation and laughed with you
Then at some point, you paused and stared at each other for a moment
She gave you a soft smile, and you both leaned in for a kiss
Once you pulled away, you whispered the words “I love you”
Her eyes widened in shock, then she gave you a soft smile and took your hand in hers
“I love you too!”
She thanks you for trusting her
And damn, your voice is as adorable as she thought
Sumire Yoshizawa
Tumblr media
It was a bit strange at first, but she got used to it
She understands that these things can be difficult for you, and she’s very patient about it
She’ll do all the talking for you and introduce you to her senpai, Joker
She hopes talking to him will help you feel comfortable and that you can find a strong, reliable friend in him
Plus, if someone has something to say, she will politely, but sternly tell them to fuck off
She’s curious about your voice, but she doesn’t ask about it
One time, she asked you to come and watch during one of her gymnastics performances
You admired how graceful she was, and you could see how much practice she put into it
After it was over, she came up to you, sweaty and proud
You hugged her and gave her a soft smile
Then you held her hands and whispered these words
“I love you, Sumi.”
She gasps in shock, before smiling and pulling you into another hug
“I love you too.”
She’s really happy to have earned your trust
And she’s glad she can trust you, too

Hello may I ask a quick question do you write for Male reader like for example a Male Akaza reader x Portas d Ace. Or like Gray fullbuster with a long lost Twin male Reader who is a master thief , and con artist but the council blames gray for his brother’s misdeeds?
Hello, my dear one, I do write male readers but I’m still pretty fresh at it so please forgive me. Looking over your request and what you sent to me I decided to take the easier of the two, just so I can practice a bit more. I hope you like it!
-Unlike the other members of the guild who were all panicking, demanding to know why the guards were apprehending Gray, accusing him of crimes, Gray was calm, as he knew that he never did any of what the guards said he did, stealing from obnoxiously wealthy nobles, mocking the guards, trespassing, and breaking and entering to name a few.
-Everyone was stunned when the guards provided photographic proof, showing a young man wearing a beautiful black suit with a swallowtail jacket and a black flat cap on top with pristine white gloves, swinging away from the royal palace on a zip line.
-The man in the photo was undeniably Gray! It looked just like him!!
-A few others, the more levelheaded members, were able to show proof of Gray’s whereabouts during these crimes, including video records and multiple witnesses including those not in the guild.
-The head guard was beside himself, there was no denying the proof of the alibi, that whoever committed all these crimes was not Gray.
-This led to an investigation, thinking it was someone using transformation magic to make themselves look like Gray, which brought up the question if he had any enemies who had this type of skill. Gray himself, just to solidify his innocence, was placed on house arrest with magic seals cover it, sealing his magic, but when the thief hit that night, they had the proof that they were two separate people.
-Each lead led to a dead end as it was pointless to ask others about this phantom thief because everyone just pointed out Gray if he was nearby.
-Natsu was a little less than helpful, but helpful enough, getting Gray a hat and a pair of sunglasses with a mustache attached, to disguise him, but that just made him look even more suspicious.
-Then more reports of this thief’s activities started to trickle in as he started to leave reports, showing that these nobles had been stealing, embezzling, bribing, extorting, and other illegal activities, condemning them as criminals and it was found that the stolen goods, mostly money and things like supplies, medicine and food, were being given to the less fortunate, to those who needed these things.
-While what he was doing was noble, Gray didn’t like it that this thief had been getting him into trouble and Team Natsu- Natsu, Happy, Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Juvia, planned to lay a trap to catch this Gray look alike since the guards were having so much trouble.
-Little did they know that this thief was two steps ahead of then and was able to anticipate their trap, easily avoiding it.
-You found it amusing, seeing these guards and guild members trying to catch you, their attempts always futile and you were beginning to get a bit bored, wanting a bit more excitement.
-You were not expecting, however, to run into your big brother, after so many years. You could remember the last day you saw him, both of you crying as a group of thieves kidnapped you, snatching you from your brother as you had both been playing, thinking they could ransom you, but when nobody came, not even your brother, they took you in and raised you until you surpassed their skills of petty theft and turned yourself into a legendary thief.
-However, after witnessing greed and the cruelty of those with wealth and power, you made the decision to become a vigilante, stealing back from the rich to give to the poor and exposing the crimes of those in power.
-It felt good to do things like this, using your skills to help others, but old habit die hard and you couldn’t help yourself teasing the guards, but now you wanted to see your brother.
-You played along with the Fairy Tail members, falling into their ‘trap’, allowing Gray to entrap you in ice, you weren’t worried at being hurt, because they just wanted to catch you, not fight you, at least the others, Natsu wanted to fight you but Natsu wants to fight everyone.
-You felt the ice melting and you felt an anti-magic bracelet being slapped on as the ice melted, leaving you completely unchanged.
-You smiled, brushing your suit off, “Well now- that was a bit brisk.” Juvia was owl-eyed, looking between you and Gray, a faint blush on her cheeks, “There’s two- there’s two Gray-sama’s!” you laughed softly at her, taking one of her hands in your own, bowing at the waist, pecking the back of her hand, “Y/N, at your service, my dear Juvia~”
-Gray was stunned, hearing that name before he finally looked at you, as he hadn’t even realized the possibility of his twin being behind these crimes, mouth agape, “Y/N is-is it really you?”
-There was a tiny part of you that wanted to be mad at him, but after doing your own digging, you discovered why Gray never came after you, so you couldn’t be mad, “In the flesh, big brother!”
-Instantly the others were all gawking, shouting out in unison, “BIG BROTHER?!” leaving only you and Gray to stand in silence before he stepped forward and went to embrace you before you shouted, “What happened to your clothes?! There are ladies present!!”
-Gray looked down, finding that he was only in his boxers now, “Ahh crap!!” before Natsu shouted at him as well to put some clothes on.
-Erza questioned why you were stealing from others and you explained yourself, telling her what you were stealing and what you were actually exposing, something she did find admirable before Gray grabbed you by the front of your jacket, yelling at you, “You got me in trouble!!!”
-Your laughter filled the alleyway that they had ‘caught’ you in as you were shaken back and forth before Lucy asked you what you were going to do next.
-You smiled over at her, causing a blush to rise to her cheeks as you were very suave, taking one of her hands in yours after you were free from your brother, “I plan on staying by your side.”
-Natsu and Gray were both quickly chasing you, both yelling at you while Juvia was gushing about another love triangle while Erza and Happy were trying to calm Lucy down as she was bright red and flushed, the four of them watching you be chased down the street.
-Gray and Natsu chased you into the night, losing sight of you about halfway and were half dead in the morning at the guild, looking run ragged as they walked in.
-They were not expecting to see you, stuffing your face, sitting next to Wendy and Lucy, talking about books with them. Their jaws dropped as they turned white in shock, pointing at you and you beamed brightly, “Hiya big brother!”
-This caused a guild wide shock as everyone who didn’t know learned that Gray had a brother, as they didn’t even pay attention to the ‘Gray’ that was already at the guild until there were two Gray’s there all of the sudden!!
-You bowed at the waist, giving a dashing smile, “Y/N Fullbuster, at your service. Thank you all for taking care of my big brother!”
-Despite only being nine in the morning, a huge party was started, celebrating your arrival and reunion with your brother, who caught you in a headlock, messing up your hair which just made you laugh.
-Natsu beamed over at you, “So what are you going to do now?” you grinned, holding up a request, “Well, as the newest member of Fairy Tail, I’m going out on a mission~” his and Gray’s jaws dropped open as you showed your mark on the side of your neck before a second roar of cheers rang out, celebrating the newest member.

On how Futaba views Akechi
A piece of fanon I've noticed that comes up a lot is how supportive Futaba is of anything that involves Akechi. I don't want to go "Oh she just hates him and any interpretation otherwise is WRONG!!>!" or like she'd totally be cool if he randomly waltzed back into their lives.
It's not something that particularly annoys me or anything. It's just something I've noticed and wanted to comment on because I feel like Futaba's character gets overly simplified. I think it's an interesting dynamic that should be explored more! NOTE THIS IS LONG SORRY LMFAO. Also, I should clarify this isn't a ship post. (don't make this weird)
At the beginning:
We all know the infamous "wait why are you telling me about your trauma, this is a wendy's" scene but it gives us our first insight into her perspective.
When he talks about his mother, it's a fairly similar scenario to Futaba's own. So much so that she has her own cut-in looking sad/sympathetic towards him.
Tumblr media
But she's still defensive when he asks about the Phantom Thieves' and their popularity by deflecting sarcastically with,
"...You're popular too, Ace Detective Akechi."
They definitely don't start off on the right foot, much like his relationship with pretty much all the Phantom Thieves, for obvious reasons. Although at this point they don't fully know the extent of his suspicious behavior, just that he is generally sus.
During the Casino + Shido Arcs:
Futaba cannot stand Akechi at this point, but as a part of the plan, she has to act naive even though arguably she probably knows the most about all the mechanics of the plan. She does get to mess with him though (making the newbie do stuff, the whole cognitive akechi part of the plan, bugging his phone). Her perspective is probably still similar to the others and it shows how much she was able to improve by being able to face him without cracking at all.
Shido's Arc and Third Semester is when it actually gets interesting though:
Futaba: You know... sometimes I think about that fake Medjed that you guys made up... Futaba: That was the worst trap... but if not for that, I don't think I'd be here right now. Futaba: Uhhh, basically... it doesn't matter where you start over!
This one gets me, I think this line is where her perspective begins to shuffle a bit (and it will be important later). She's trying her best to sympathize with him, as this is before the black mask part of the breakdown, and get him to see that there was some amount of good that came from his actions. It doesn't work, and I kind of think she doesn't really believe it, but they are all trying anything to get him to come to his senses. But I do think she means the part about him starting over, in a "I did it, so could you" kind of way.
And of course this engine room dialogue which is peak (even if it may be an incorrect description of his abilities):
Futaba: But you trusted no one, so you only got two Personas: one for your lies, and one for your hate. Futaba: Still, you thought that was enough, right? That part I totally get.
Okay the first part of the dialogue may not be accurate to how his Personas work but I don't want to talk about that (there's some good posts on that though). But the point isn't being accurate, she's throwing back what he's done in attempt to get through to him. Like this is where you went wrong and here's why I can relate to that. The second line confuses me and I had to sit on it.
One point she makes is that he's operating on his own without teammates (the translation is a bit different), "playing in single player mode." I think this refers to how she thought she could manage her situation on her own, but wasn't able to. Additional note, it could also be referring to the way she attempted to push people out of her life (like how she tries to stop the PTs when they say they need to meet her to change her heart). That she needed the help of the Phantom Thieves (I think, even beyond the change of heart) and those bonds proved her wrong. So even though she initially thought no one needed her and that her life was meaningless, she did something Akechi couldn't conceive of doing, reaching out for help. This is her way of extending a branch even though there's no reason for her to.

An additional line I can't screenshot:
"So please let me get back to navigating! I wanna navigate so hard that I won't be able to think about anything else."
When this happens, I think it's pretty clear that there's a strong inner conflict for her when it comes to forgiving Akechi. Even though they reasoned it out by saying they needed him on the team due to Maruki's abilities, she's still trying to look for a better reason to work with him. And she just can't find one. I wouldn't say it's necessarily out of pity, but it shows that she does on some level still feel bad for him. I guess the word I'm looking for is compassion? A thought that comes into my head is that she does want him to start over, just not with the team. If it was only Shido, then it would have been justified, but the circumstances are different here. Knowing that he might be alive changes the way all the thieves interact with him (they aren't trying to get through to him anymore, and some dialogues are just awkward- you can tell no one knows what to say to him now that he's acting 'normal').
A counterpoint to this dialogue would be her dialogue in the engine room and Mementos. She's pretty open to talking to him in these dialogues. In Akechi's section there are some really interesting interactions imo:
Akechi: You may not like working with me, but I'm counting on your assistance until our goal is achieved. Futaba: You better appreciate just how open-minded I am.
The fact they don't play together in Tycoon but they still get Mementos dialogues confuses me a bit but eh. Without Haru and Futaba's approval it's pretty clear the others wouldn't be on board with Akechi on the team. The delivery kind of makes it sound like she's forcing herself to be open minded about it, and that's what the safe room dialogue implies too. She doesn't want to be around him.
Akechi: Do you prefer my previous outfit or this one? Moving around's become much easier for me. Futaba: They both work fine. Just wear whatever you want.
Akechi: You think I'm frightening when I fight? Well, I'm afraid you're just going to have to accept it. Futaba: I was pretty shocked at first, but now I'm used to it.
I think these are pretty clear. She hasn't forgiven him, hell she probably doesn't like him, but she's come to accept him for who he is. But she isn't scared anymore, nor is she trying to reason with him, he just exists.
Conclusion/TLDR: She goes from actively disliking him at the beginning of the story to still disliking him but it's complicated™. She understands what he went through to get to that point, and wanted him (like the others) to face Shido with them. But when it comes to third semester, the circumstances are far different, complicating it further. She doesn't need to forgive him at all, she knows that, but after everything that happened wants to find a reason to forgive him. But she can't. At the very least, she's begrudgingly accepting of his existence, and can deal with it only for the sake of the team. She doesn't hate him, at all, actually, but to say she's okay with him is also a stretch.
edit: some edits for clarity/demonstration.

I started writing this last week, then my tonsillitis floored me so @bunnymajo beat me with her own post on the topic (it's v. good, check it out!!), but I still wanted to share a few of my thoughts about why y'all should consider picking up the Discotek release of the Kaitou Saint Tail anime series on blu-ray.
I'll be honest, Kaitou Saint Tail wasn't my favourite magical girl series growing up in the mid-90s, I found myself far more drawn to Sailor Moon, Wedding Peach, and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne (in that order). However, as I've grown older and re-watched the anime series a couple of times, I've grown to appreciate a lot about it that perhaps I didn't so much when I was young and had a million anime series vying for my attention.
Tumblr media
The anime
If you've never seen the Kaitou Saint Tail anime, Haneoka Meimi is regular teenage student by day who rights wrongs by night as the thief Saint Tail. How does she know about what bad things have gone down in the local community? Why her BFF (Mimori Seira) is a nun-in-training, of course! So when Seira hears about things being stolen etc. she relays this information to Meimi so she can set things right.
Complicating the situation is Asuka Daiki, the son of a local detective who notably failed to catch a previous phantom thief (hmm!). Asuka Jr. wants to stop Saint Tail no matter what and luckily the local mayor is cool with giving him the status required to do so. Meimi slowly finds herself torn between how she feels about Asuka Jr. (whom she bickers with but ultimately cares about) and how Asuka Jr. feels about the thief Saint Tail.
So obviously if you like magical girl-type series and you're keen on a cute lil tween romance with some wacky kids' show thieving then you're going to be keen to watch (or read, the manga is adorable) the series no matter what. If you're on the fence, here are a couple of things I found to be stand-outs in Kaitou Saint Tail that you might like about it too.
Tumblr media
Saint Tail = Seira & Meimi
Saint Tail the thief is really a team of two people. You've got Seira who gathers all the intel & helps plan, then you've got Meimi who acts as the muscle and executes the scheme. If you removed either of them you wouldn't have the legendary phantom thief everyone talks about in the series. Seira is never magical herself, she goes between God/Meimi/the community to help save "lost lambs" but her role is vital and Meimi's feats as Saint Tail are truly part of a team effort.
I've honestly always loved this about the series, that Seira isn't some friend kept in the dark nor is she another magical thief to team up with, she's got her own unique role to play that utilises her skills just as much as Meimi's role relies on her talents too. Together they are a phantom bigger than any one tween girl could ever be.
Tumblr media
Meimi is physically adept
There's room for all types of magical girls in the genre imho and these days we've seen lots of magical girls who can land a solid punch as well as those better suited to intellectual challenges. However, in the mid-90s at a time when Tsukino Usagi and Hanasaki Momoko said it was OK to be clumsy and not great at athletics, Meimi said it was just as OK to be athletic and have excellent fine motor skills.
One thing I didn't note in my above summary of the series is that while Meimi does a whole lot of VISUALLY magical girl things like transform in the anime, she doesn't actually have any supernatural abilities. Meimi is instead adept at stage magic thanks to her father's profession and she plays a lot of tricks to get the job done (while following in her mother's footsteps as well). Meimi can't punch a bad guy through a wall like a Precure, but her strength allows her to frequently save other characters or pull herself out of tricky situations.
Tumblr media
Asuka Jr. provides a great contrast
While Asuka Jr. can ride a bike pretty fast he's not that physically strong, which is a contrast to a lot of love interests in the genre who are tough enough to give the heroine enough time to finish the job (Tuxedo Kamen and Limone, for example). Asuka Jr. is more of an intellectual who despite managing to figure out a lot of what's going on with Saint Tail's capers, can never seem to get pin her down (and yeah yeah we know Meimi looks like Saint Tail but this is a cartoon for kids, being in on that while Asuka Jr. goes mad trying to find Saint Tail is part of the overall charm of the thing imho).
I think a decent chunk of what I like about Asuka Jr. as a male lead in Kaitou Saint Tail is that he's not some older, mysterious guy who helps solve problems; Asuka Jr. is a brat who causes most of Meimi's problems and because of his clueless youth he's also quite oblivious to her burgeoning romantic feelings for him. But I love that? They both feel like they're young kids challenging each other on an equal playing field.
While Asuka. Jr doesn't necessarily disagree with Saint Tail's objectives (to right wrongs), he doesn't support her methods (stealing is baaaaaad) and he's following his own moral code which is perhaps a little more conventional than hers. Meimi and Asuka jr. certainly bicker, but they have a lot in common that becomes apparent over time and their differences do indeed prove to be complementary to each other's in the long run.
Tumblr media
The stakes are fairly low
Wait, isn't this a bad thing? Shouldn't the stakes be super high in order for us to care about the series? No, I don't think every magical girl series needs to have high stakes to leave an impact or be meaningful. I love that Kaitou Saint Tail isn't about a potentially world-ending event or magical abilities that could change reality as we know it. Heck, there's an episode where the entire goal of Saint Tail's elaborate scheme is to get back a notebook that a classmate gave to her crush accidentally before he can read it.
In that sense, it harkens back to a lot of older majokko shows that, while having some supernatural gifts for the heroine that Meimi doesn't technically have, still chose to focus on the lead solving personal problems or issues in the local community rather than fighting to save the planet.
This isn't to say there are no stakes at all or anything. Meimi's greatest problem lies in her diverging identities and the fact that, as ostensibly a criminal to those not helped by her talents, Saint Tail being unmasked would ruin her life. I know they're not huge stakes compared to galactic evils, but Saint Tail being an outlaw and the way the persona is both a blessing & curse to Meimi certainly is present throughout the series.
Kaitou Saint Tail's stakes might not be as high as those in Nurse Angel Ririka SOS, Tokyo Mew Mew, or any number of Precure seasons, but there's definitely a place for that in the genre and if you'd like something a little more laid back (that's still plenty of fun & with twists and turns a plenty, mind you) then this series might be worth checking out.
Tumblr media
The anime doesn't overstay its welcome
The Kaitou Saint Tail anime is a fairly tight production that deftly balances fun filler (remember when we were allowed to have filler eps???) with more emotional story touch points and doesn't feel at all drawn out, which was certainly an issue even for some of my favourite series of the period. While I wouldn't say the anime is perfect or anything, it really doesn't have any majorly weak arcs or huge dips in quality overall.
Kaitou Saint Tail has lovely music (I'm partial to the first OP/ED combo myself), some great 90s animators at work (Abe Junko, Ishino Satoshi, Kadonosono Megumi & Gotou Keiji, Watanabe Nobuhiro, Ochi Kazuhiro, Motohashi Hideyuki, etc.), and a cast of talented seiyuu (Sakurai Tomo as Meimi and Inoue Kikuko as Seira being the stand outs).
While there are some changes to the source material and a lot of the cute, whispy beauty of Tachikawa Megumi's original artwork is lost on screen, the animated version of Kaitou Saint Tail is worth picking up not just to support the release of magical girl titles in the US market, but because it is a solid little series that I know I always appreciate spending some time with.
Anyway those are my rambling thoughts on the series. It won't be for everyone, but if you're interested in magical girl classics then you might want to check out the upcoming US release from Discotek on blu-ray.

who the phantom thieves would main in mortal kombat 11
characters: akira//ren, ann, makoto, ryuji, yusuke, futaba, haru
type: crackfic; headcanons
note: wow look at me actually writing something
joker;
johnny cage main !!
akiren doesn’t really care about the meta, he just plays johnny cage because he loves the character and how ridiculously over the top he is
even though he doesn’t particularly care about the meta, he still keeps up with all the changes and updates to stay on top of his game; has watched hundred of combo tutorials
spends hours unlocking all the special skins for johnny and makes him wear the most absurd-looking outfits out there
knows literally every special move, crushing blow, brutality, fatality you can think of
in terms of play style, he’s actually a really solid player ; he just can’t resist ending combos with johnny’s signature nut punch but that exact fact is what can make him predictable at times
has some absolutely disgusting combos that take out like 90% of his opponent’s hp and are borderline unblockable but avoids using them when he plays with the phantom thieves to keep the competition fair
he has completely mastered the flawless block mechanic which allows him to take minimal amounts of damage; he never uses it when he’s playing with the phantom thieves and sometimes even lets the them beat him or sets up little handicaps for himself to stop the matches from ending too early (like never using his fatal blow)
overall; solid 8/10 player ; knows most of the mechanics and how to actually use them; just needs to switch to a more meta character
ann takamaki;
jade main !!
garbage player; only knows about two things - 1) how you attack 2) how you block
uses jade only because of her unblockable overhead and spams that single move and occasionally pokes the opponent with her staff
has no knowledge about combos and the crushing blows that she does randomly execute mostly come from random button mashing until the character just does something
due to her lack of knowledge, she can’t take advantage of the the combo opportunities that jade’s aforementioned overhead
overall; horrible player 4/10; she only gets a 4 because some of the others are worse (yusuke) and because her random button mashing sometimes leads to combos and crushing blows by sheer luck (she’s managed to beat joker once)
ryuji sakamoto;
button smasher !! but he actually knows some combos and will occasionally use them when he thinks it’s necessary but can beat most people (i.e the phantom thieves and noobs online without using them)
speaking of noobs, he loves destroying them online
he doesn’t necessarily have a main and can play with most characters reasonably well but he does have a soft spot for scorpion
he gets absolutely destroyed by haru but so does everyone else so it’s not that embarrassing
overall; he’s a half decent player 7/10
yusuke kitagawa;
do i even need to write about him? he’s never held a controller in his life before and he keeps asking joker where the L1/L2 and R1/R2 triggers are every time they play
he can barely land a hit, much less pull off a combo
picked his character based on aesthetics, tries (and fails) to do moves that look aesthetically pleasing
randomly starts rambling about art during matches to the point where it’s incredibly distracting for the other person, i could go on and on
overall; 1/10 player because i don’t have the heart to give him a 0/10 rating
futaba sakura;
mains whoever is meta at the time but has a soft spot for subzero because he was the first character he learned how to play with
knows every character well, she can execute combines perfectly and use move their moves strategically
she has frame data memorised so that she can punish opponents
she’s the only one other than akechi who can actually challenge the phantom thieves
loves smoking noobs online
overall; 9/10 player, she’s good at pretty much every aspect of the game
makoto niijima;
cassie cage main !!
she loves pulling off a good combo, she didn’t think she would be very interested in a game that involved a bunch of button smashing (from her perspective at least)
it was only when she lost to joker the first time and she realised that there was a lot of strategy and execution of specific strings of command that she was truly interested
she ends up learning the frame data for all her main’s moves and most of the combos, she’s nowhere near the level of futaba in terms of knowledge but she knows quite a lot
she’s also very interested in the lore
overall; a 7/10 player and can beat anyone on a good day
haru okumura;
baraka main and by far the best player among the phantom thieves, she prefers characters that just smash their opponents and don’t require intricate set ups or traps (monke brain)
she doesn’t know any combos on any frame data, she just somehow know how to execute some of the most difficult combos in the game
sometimes the person playing against her looks over only to her with a little smile on her face as her character brutally mutilates their opponent
the only person among the thieves who can beat futaba when she’s being serious
overall; a 9/10 player and someone everyone should be at least a little wary of
