one thing i really appreciate about jinshi's character is how he has NEVER once actually had any intention of succeeding the throne. every time the idea is brought up he immediately detests it. so hes giving maomao as much as he possibly can, even though maomao has many qualms about it due to their difference in social status, but jinshi DOESNT CARE because hes NEVER cared about or wanted the status of crown prince! its been nothing but a burden to him! from his perspective the ONLY thing keeping the two of them apart are outside influences. he has no doubt within himself-- hes horribly down bad, in fact. but unfortunately his stupid JOB is getting in the way of him skipping off into the sunset with his favourite little cat

anyway this. uh. this took a really long time. worked on it (and other projects) sporadically before and after my break, and this is the result. could definitely use more polish, but it’s a real improvement from my last attempt w/ a different program! having something that lets you use audio and normal layers makes a big difference. this is probably the most labor intensive one too, so i'm glad i got to share it.

the pivotal event that made her the way she is was killing an animal. touga, who is her only family, seems to care so little for her that she felt like she had to be in competition with a cat for scraps of attention from him.. she has nightmares about being a calf whos taken to be slaughtered and eaten by the person shes most desperate to please. boxing kangaroo and surfing elephants are there cause anthy was having a little fun with it or something
